Thermahood Airtight Downlight Covers create a safe seal over the downlighter. This protects the downlighter from unwanted tampering or displacement from above. This protective cap also prevents loft storage items been placed on the light fitting.
Our unique design avoids downlights being in direct contact with loft insulation by providing a protective cover over which loft insulation can be safely laid.

TH 001 can be easily fitted over most downlights, squared sides allow for fitting close to joist/rafters and the 4 corner flanges can be used with adhesive or building tapes to hold the cover in place.

Thermahood provide an easy and effective solution to covering ceiling lights in the roof space and enabling insulation to be relaid over the lights safely. It reduces both the loss of heat through a cold loft and provides a safe barrier between the insulation and light/power source. Highly recommended.
Perfect fit for my downlighters in the loft. Sturdy frame and very easy to install. I glued the bottom of the covers . Very good value for money ideal for what I wanted them for.
Don’t know how they protect unless you have a fire , seem a bit pricy , but give the gap protection you need . Light in weight and easy to use
This product is very well made. Because of its size it is more suited to Halogen downlighters as some of the LED lights I have were too big for it to fit over and would have suited a more box like shape.

The insulation was laid in my attic and just skirted around downlighters, meaning the insulation was less than effective. In have now installs the Thermahoops over my eight spots and relaid the insulation. They have a high standard of build quality and I now feel more secure and expect to reap the benefits this winter.
Perfect for what I need. Slots over the spotlight fitting and keeps loft insulation away. Sturdy plastic. Speedy delivery too!
J’en ai command deux lots et sur les vingt, un est arriv cass. Il tait quand mme utilisable mais vu le prix des caches c’est dommage…
Sinon, caches pratiques et facile installer laissant beaucoup de place pour installer les spots. Attention la hauteur si vous n’avez pas beaucoup de place au dessus du plafond.
They’re a great size, bigger than you’d expect (you could wear as a hat!) but the size is essential so the plastic doesn’t come into contact with the light fitting or get too hot.
Can easily fit in all of the light fitting, transformers, connectors, wires etc under the hood.
Have laid the insulation over the hood, this means there’s a lump where each hood stands but I really don’t see why this would be an issue for anyone.
All rooms are now warmer due to the added insulation in the attic and months on I’ve had no issues with them.
All of the hoods had fire safety rating/kite marks on them so confident they’re the right tool for the job. Have recommended to friends and colleagues.
Found these very easy to fit. They were good value for money and excellent quality.

Indispensable tant pour l’isolation vis–vis de la laine de verre projete que pour l’isolation phonique apporte.

I like the idea of being able to cover my led downlights and still use insulation. They are a good shape and take up less space than the square ones. The idea of sticking them down is perfect to allow the house to be draught free. I have ordered ten but will order more when the other rooms are being done.
Do exactly what they are meant to do – but actually cost more than the light fittings they cover…
Had new spots put in everywhere in the top of my house, so brought these to cover then insulated over the top and boarded, check the hight of your rafters etc also check your spots will go in the middle of the rafters so these fit nicely then, if the spots are exactly next to a rafter they won’t fit ove
Bought 30 of these hoods. Our bulbs are MR16s and I have placed the transformers outside the hood. I have since replaced the Halogen bulbs with LEDs, so less of a need for the hoods. However, made laying the insulation over the top more straightforward. I didn’t fix the hoods down, the insulation keeps them seated well anyway.
Very pleased with these as they are well made, sturdy and solid. Haven’t fitted the slights yet but they are fixed in place in our new build to take the upstairs downlighters. Protecting them from the insulation and sealing them from making drafts when the holes are cut and the lights are installed. Bought the 10 pack as needed almost all and it was the cheapest way, making them nearly half the price of the ones available in a local DIY superstore.

A must for re-insulating lofts to the current recommended levels, attach & blanket over the top! Bit bigger than expected, but easy enough to install with a bead of silicone to keep them inplaceish until the matting goes on top. Also made locally in Norn Iron, so good to be supporting local business.

My loft is directly above my kitchen.
Used water based sealant on the base and have created a nice, sealed environment for my kitchen downlights.
The lights used, are very low wattage LEDs, now covered by loft insulation, to maintain insulation coverage everywhere.
I found 2 dead wasps in the old lights, while fitting the hoods…these covers will prevent dust, and insect ingress in future. I also used to notice steam disappearing into the old lighting set up, before. These hoods are therefore stopping possible condensation problems in the loft.
Do the job but very expensive for what they are.
