Works really well and so I bought a second one. Very loud crack when a fly hits the wire so if you jump easily this will make you jump at lo

This thing is effective. Had smaller, cheaper ones before and they worked but didn’t get everything, still got bitten. After using this thing no bites and no flying bugs.
It’s efficient but the zap is ferocious, you definitely know its doing its job.

It really seems to do the job well with a lovely ‘cracking’ sound every time a fly touches the bars. My only criticsm is that it’s quite bulky, but to do the job well (which it does) it’s a small price to pay.

I gave this item 4 stars at first because my original one both bulbs failed at the same time after a few months, After reporting this i was sent a replacement with excellent after service changed my mind and gave 5 stars. I have purchased many different versions from different sellers, this one is the best and very powerful and as others have said it will make you jump with a crack like a party popper. At the end of the day it does its job.

I have this in my workshop, and fly’s are a nuisance, this brings joy every time I hear a crack of the high voltage as the fly hits the grid, best catch so far is 31 in one day. But they seem to avoid the building lately

What can I say this is simply the death chair for flies and mosquitoes. are you fed up with the flies And mosquitoes like I was? Then look no more this without question the king of fly killing, if they hold on between the bars it will smoke n Cook them. sometimes if you get a real big blue bottle in their the crack is so loud it you can hear anywhere in the house house. Attract them zap them fry them.

This is the real deal! Ultra death, frying, burning and outright lethal killing machine for anything that decides to go near it (thripes although do escape as they are tiny). I installed this at the back of a kitchen cabinet as my neigbour reported flies actually explode and are blasted away from it sometimes. So, I installed with a nice fly death area infront of the unit and let it do its thing. I lost count how many times I jumped as the crack from something hitting the grill is quite something and quite loud. I watched a large blue bottle fly get literally electrified and then burned to a sinder. Then the death and destruction came. Crack after crack until most of my house was fly/bug free. Literally the best fly killer I’ve ever seen. After one night it looked like carnage on the grills and the collecting plate at the bottom. It would be handy is if came with a cleaning brush as they do get literally fried onto the grills and you do want to clean it. Just be aware that they literally explode and end up in front of the unit or a few feet away so don’t have it near food surfaces.

It works extremely well at killing all flies and moths but the noise is very scary, I and my guinea pigs are used to it now but it took a while, it sounds like a very loud cap gun when it fries flies. It is a bit messy as the dead flies tend to fall off the tray onto the table or floor.

  16. ShaniHrgjwynco says:

It has definitely got rid of the flies! However, my dogs are still getting used to the noise when it fries them.
Some dogs appear to be more frightened than others. Out of four dogs one is particularly frightened and wants to be in a different room! Hence only 3 for noise level.

I like the fact that i can leave my back door opened so my dogs can sit out in the garden when its nice without me getting stressed about flies and bluebottles coming in (we live next to a forest so we get a lot of flies and other insects ) we also had a fly infestation in our loft and this little but very powerful zapper had it sorted within one week ,in havent had any flies in my loft for over 3 weeks now ,would highly recommend ,don’t think about it just get it you will be glad you did …gives you a fright the first few times it goes off as it makes a loud cracking sound but you get used to it .

I have a very bad fly infection during the summer mostly and I needed a massive help so I decided on this product. It is costly and quite big although others review for smaller ones was saying it doesn’t kill the flies.
I live on the 4th floor flat and always seems to get flies. I’ve had enough. After suffering from choking sprays and dead flies everywhere, I needed a better solution.
The pictures you see are from when I came home on the 1st day I received it. I got it delivered after 14:30 & came home around 22:30. As you can see, it is full of dead flies!
So this is what I say about the product –
*The tray does easily come out to clean and is easily cleaned.
*I would recommend when you do hang it to not hang it over and area where you can’t clean up. I wanted to put it high above a sofa chair that’s near my balcony door. And as you can see, the flies didn’t all stay in the tray. So I wouldn’t want dead flies all over my cofa chair where I want to sit.
*The product doesn’t get hot to touch around the edges. Honestly, I had it on for hours and I was still able to touch and pick it up to put it somewhere else without having to wait till it cools. Although I would still say, double check the edges of your product just in case. I’m writing this review on the same day I got it.
*It’s leaves a glow in your room and feels like it heats up your room too lol
*Oh, it kills all kinds of flies. I feel like a murderer and this thing will remind you that your a murderer because of the loud bang and white/red spark. Omg, everyone did say it has a loud bang but I didn’t realise how loud it is. I’m deaf with 2 hearing aids and it makes me jump whenever I’m in the room with it. And that’s when I know I’ve murdered a fiy.
*My poor cat is scared off unfamiliar loud noises so be aware of pets that do have a problem with that. Hopefully I can help him through it. He doesn’t run away and hide, just pops his head up and looks around. We live in an area that is loud anyways. So it will take some getting used too. Oh, it makes no humming sound at all.

I do love it. It has helped me with my problem after 1 day of having it. I just need to find a good area in my flat to hang it up and if the flies don’t all go in the tray at least it will go on the floor where I can easily hoover it up. That’s what I did with the flies on the table and will need to give that a good scrub.
    Hope the pictures help.

    What a bang!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this for my domestic kitchen, and what a life saver. I like to have doors and windows open during warm weather, but living nearby working livestock farms, the flies are just awful. Spent a lot of time chasing them with a fly swat, and can’t use fly spray because of my cats, so bought this instead. It’s very effective and so pleasing to see a load of dead flies in the tray at the bottom of the unit. Tray needs emptying 2 or 3 times a day. Recommend.

Every time a fly hits the lights, it sounds like gun fire, this device is much louder than similar ones I had in the past. But it’s satisfying to hear and know the flies meet their end rather than bothering us.

This works vey good on an evening when turning dark. The larger flies are attracted to the light followed by a loud crack making the dog breaking wind. Sometimes the fly’s drop into the supplied tray but mostly explode never to be seen again. Smaller fruit fly’s hover around it but rarely seem to get zapped.
I know some have commented that the mains cable is too short but it was just the right length for where we have it sited in our conservatory.
I have fitted a smart plug that switches it on at sunset and off again at midnight. I have located the zapper in a position that makes using the on/off switch difficult. The plug is Alex voice controlled so that if we see a bee we can tell Alexa to turn off the zapper before shooing the bee outside.
    Really pleased with our purchase.

I Will update this post after having used it for a few months.

This product has been working extremely effectively for over a year in an 18m sq kitchen with a high ceiling.

When possible I like to keep the kitchen windows open but climate change means that there are more nuisance insects. Insecticide sprays are a bad idea around food and fly papers are very unsightly so this device has been very useful.

The fly tray catches most but not all of the dead insects so you need to consider where you place the device. I put mine on a high shelf in a corner and it worried me that it might not lure insects in that location but it worked fine.

I had to replace a light tube for the first time recently. Before emptying the fly tray or replacing a tube you need to unplug the device, and you should then use something to discharge it before putting your fingers near the elements, but it is easy to do and no screws are involved.

Not all fly killers are equal. I returned one of a different make because it did not do the job but this one really keeps my kitchen free from flies.

  38. Lizette64T says:

Make no mistake… when you switch this on, all flies, gnats and assorted flying beasties do NOT make a bee-line to go and sacrifice themselves. However, with patience — and particularly if you leave it on overnight when the house is otherwise dark — you will notice a dramatic decrease in the number of irritating pesky things about the place.

In short, it’s not magic but it does work. Furthermore, it is very much more effective than cheaper items of a similar kind that I have previously purchased.

Finally, and as others have noticed, executions are marked by a crack like a gunshot. It’s surprisingly loud.

.. then 9 fat flies flying around the room + one set of fly remains, blown to pieces and smouldering in the tray.

    Perfect!

Although this is very effective at killing flying bugs, and does not often need emptying out due to the fact that it vapourises anything that enters it, the noise when it does so scares the crap out of anyone within 50 feet!
It literally sounds like a rifle shot and both my wife, myself, and our office staff have often not only ducked thinking we are under enemy fire but also left customers on the phone wondering why we suddenly shout obscenities at them!
I am only surprised that anything that flies still dare to enter our airspace 🙂

We have a lot of flies and wasps in our garage. They just come in and enjoy our hospitality without an invite. Not any more! This zapper is brilliant, the bugs certainly go up with a bang. Every time it makes me jump. All the flies and wasps are drawn to the UV lamps even tiny ones. In fact it’s amazing how many. The tiny flies just go up with a crackly, the wasps sort of explode. It’s quite alarming watching them burn up but they should stay outside! I wish I’d got one years ago instead of chasing them around the garage. Hate wasps!

Okay, so let’s be clear, my partner REALLY DOESN’T LIKE FLIES!

In the summer I like to bring the outside in – open doors, open windows, pets wandering in and out, you get the picture. Unfortunately, this tends to also include a fair amount of insect life and this has caused a lot of arm waving and running around in circles. We needed a solution and settled on this unit. It sits on top of the fridge freezer, minding it’s own business. Every so often there’s a crack as another insect is dealt with – said partner initially jumped, but now she’s used to it. Disparaging comments about it looking like it should be in a food shop (it is industrial quality) have petered out as it became apparent just how effective it is. Flies wander into the kitchen, but are inexorably drawn to it sooner or later. The collection tray is easy to remove to empty, although you do end up with some debris around the unit (vacuum up the bits every so often). Great value for money – buy it! 🙂

product performs brilliantly if not a little gruesome. Anything that gets stuck on the bars crackles for a few seconds then quite literally explodes. Works well with large insects such as wasps and horse flies. We probably clean around 30 dead flies out of the tray every evening. My only word of caution.. We have 2 slightly nervous dogs. This unit gives off a fairly loud ‘crack’ when an insect hits it and the dogs seem to be pretty terrified of this. We are just hoping they get used to i

As far as killing insects is concerned it does the job beautifully. Its a powerful item and the flies, moths and other insects get attracted to it very easily. It does however zap rather loudly. It does need to have a dark background for them to be attracted to the light I.e. we pull the blinds behind ours. Very happy. Have ordered a second for my parents!

    Now it’s dead

It’s better than the other cheap one I got from Amazon, that one lasted 6 months

    I guess it’s ok at 2.20 a month

It does kill plenty of flies , about 5 per day, which means 35000 flies

This costs about 1p to deal with 10 flies

    I think it’s worth i

Ordered this in preference to 20 W which is zapping brilliant. Bright bulbs no chain to hang it up with (unhelpful)
The fruit fly pandemic currently occupying my house is being zapped fast and furiously with last year’s 20 W version
The new 30 W version is unimpressive in comparison currently residing by the real live fire fireplace. fulfilling the odd popping killing machine syndrome noise. They gave me a 5percent discount is this the reason ASPECTEK? Perhaps it is a different variety of fruit fly on the west side…Does it murder the insects? occasionally.

  52. MarianaFrb says:

     United Kingdom

This Aspectek fly killer does a good job of getting rid of flies. The only criticisms I have are: firstly, it doesn’t always kill flies instantly, a lot of them struggle on for some time before dying, so maybe a higher wattage fly killer might be more humane; secondly very few of the smaller flies (eg fruit flies) drop into the tray, they are mostly thrown away from the appliance so you have to keep it well away from food but I would imagine this applies to any similar electronic fly killer; the heavier house flies do drop into the tray. Overall, this is a good product that does its job but maybe could do with a bit more power.

  53. RichelleDupont says:

Don’t expect this to wipe out every fly in five minutes. I’ve run the machine for a couple of days now and it’s certainly helping the fly situation. It’s very easy to instal, robustly built and takes up little room. If you are of a nervous disposition be aware that when a fly hits the grill the crack is like a rifle shot. I’ve seen the cheaper versions and been annoyed by the buzzing of maimed insects writhing in the dead tray, not a problem with this gadget, when they are zapped they’re dead! I certainly feel justified in the few extra pounds spent.

This insect zipper replaced an old one in our greenhouse and, boy, is it effective. We never really knew if our old one was working, even though the blue lights were on, but we definitely know that this one is working. In spite of the fact that we have netting at the door and roof vents, flies, aphids and other small buzzing and biting critters get in but this Zapper kills them all with a loud “crack!” that at first makes you nearly jump out of your skin. You can hear it going off like a pistol shot from the other end of the garden and know with some satisfaction that “another one bites the dust”. It means that tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and lettuce grown in the greenhouse are strong and healthy, no greenfly or whitefly as far as I can see, and no insect killer used on plants. Don’t know what this would be like in a house though. I have thought about getting another one for the kitchen, but it is quite bulky, though very effective. I don’t usually write reviews but Coronavirus means I have time to grow things in the greenhouse and write reviews !

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a great piece of kit for getting rid of flies, mosquitoes etc. It started working immediately after being plugged in. I have it positioned just inside the front terrace of my villa in Spain (which is the main entrance to the house). This takes care of the vast majority of insects that manage to sneak in when the outside doors are open, before they get to the fly screen door.
There is a bit of a crack when the insects come into contact with the elements, which can make you jump on occassion, but that’s just the way it is. It is a pretty efficient machine. The only complaint I have is that the cable is way too short, being only 2 metres long. This means using an extension lead if you want to position the unit high up. An easy thing to address, I would have thought.

Well as another reviewer stated, this is brutal, ugly but absolutely brilliant! It is quite flimsy, large and unsightly but it does what it supposed to do and kills flies or any other insect daring to go near it. It does make a very loud bang when they are shocked, so be warned, but it is quite satisfying. We are usually inundated with flies as we live in the country, and this device has sorted that out. If you can put up with an ugly looking machine and you have an insect problem, buy it, you won’t be disappointed. I have put mine on top of the kitchen cupboards so is only visible if you look up.

Bought this product to combat inevitable flys present living on a farm. I wish we had got it years ago!
It is situated on top of kitchen cupboards and the amount of flying insects it gets is incredible! It does shine fairly bright to attract flys, hence it is on cupboard tops so is less noticeable to family but this also serves as a night light for family members entering the kitchen in the dark so not a problem, in-fact it is a positive. The only noise it makes is when it gets a fly which is a loud bang, you certainly know it’s doing its job! But you get use to this.

  68. RogelioINPF says:

Great product, only issue it’s loud when something flies into it and the noise scares both dogs, so can’t have it on if they are in the same room and it really distressed them. One of my dogs hates fireworks and so that’s probably why it stresses her so much as it is pretty loud. Good product though

  69. MatildaSalo says:

We had started to have an issue with fruit flies as one seemed to be buzzing around my head 30 seconds after I’d just swatted one of its friends. I generally leave this on over night downstairs and the tray at the bottom collects anything from 15-40 in an 8 hour period. I didn’t realise we had that many! As others have commented, it is loud and you need to clean around the tray as some are invariably thrown outside the drop-zone, but it is effective and I’m hoping the numbers collected will soon start to drop!

Also, unfortunately (and this is not the products fault as it’s just doing what it’s meant to do) one of our dogs is scared to death of it because it’s so loud so we find ourselves having to turn it off more than on.
