My parents moved to the coast a couple of years ago, and since then we’ve been looking for ways to safely enjoy the sheltered bit of bay nearby. So, to put it in context, we’re complete non-experts in sea sports, approaching it as total newcomers.
We didn’t need to worry – this is a really sturdy board when fully inflated, and feels extremely safe and stable in the water. We’re all rather tall in our family, so the extra size (it’s over 10ft long!) gives ample room to lie on comfortably. When you do pluck up the courage to stand, it’s surprisingly supportive and buoyant, and actually very difficult to capsize.
As you’d expect from the brand, it’s all very strongly constructed, and pretty bash-proof (handy if your local bay is quite rocky!). No doubt it would make a very decent replacement board too if you’re already au fait with using one.
With a robust paddle, pump, straps and carry case included, it really does make a perfect starter kit if you fancy giving paddleboarding a go. Can absolutely recommend it. It’s our first paddleboard and we’re hooked – just wishing for a few more nice, sunny days to go with it!

Ordered this Saturday, arrived on Sunday and we were out playing on the nearby river by 2pm.
It’s a workout to get her pumped up as is said by all SUP owners who don’t have electric pumps it seems but the instructions, the valve and the pump all feel very good and it was easy enough.
I was unsure about the pump gauge despite having seen many advice saying the gauges don’t register the pressure until you’ve got the board pumped up fairly well so called Max on the aftersales number and he gave great advice with a nice attitude considering I was briefly interrupting his Sunday afternoon – the advice was essentially just keep pumping and worked out great.
Pumped her up to 12 PSI and strapped her to my van roof rack to get her down the river. Very light and easy to carry once pumped up – chucked the paddle, the repair kit, the leash and the instructions into the solidly built carry bag and off we went.
Neither me nor my niece have paddleboarded before but we love messing about (safely) in the water and so were both keen to try it out and it went great. The board has fantastic stability on the water and although we mainly stuck to shallower parts with less current to get used to it all we had so much fun and both managed to stand up quite easily although had a nice time just kneeling and paddling and floating about as well – the versatility of SUPs is what attracted me to buy one in the first place.
Once it was hometime, I rinsed her off in the river and then hosed her down at home before drying her off with the force dryer I have for drying my Golden Retriever – this worked a treat and then just deflated and laid her in the hall for the deck and handle to finish drying.
Will try and remember to come up and update once I’ve packed her into her bag and tried her out a few more times but all in all, the service is fantastic, the styling and attention to detail is great and overall the SUP and included accessories are nice and sturdy and the activity itself is so much fun! Highly recommend Beachbum – keep it up lads 🙂
This is my intro board into paddle boarding and love it. Hard work to pump up as they all are, so don’t fret if it’s feeling too much, just gotta keep on going. Very sturdy, managed to stand relatively quickly and everything feels of solid quality. Bag zips well, straps are all good, pump easily does the job and the paddle feels like it can take some punishment.
If you’re in the market to dip your toe into paddle boarding, I don’t think you’ll go wrong here

This is a great paddle board for beginners and more experienced SUP-pers alike. It comes with everything you will need all bagged up and ready to go. Inflating it with the excellent pump provided is a good workout but then you simply have to attach the fins and ankle strap and you’re good to go. There are handy bungies on the front for a bit of onboard stowage. Pro tip : don’t bring your laptop. The blunter nose and wider profile make this altogether an easier board to use than the standard shape with that all important extra stability to help you gain confidence out on the water. A quality package at a reasonable price.
This paddle board comes with everything you need to get started. It is quite wide with a length to width ratio that gives it extra stability and is ideal for beginners.
It comes with a stirrup pump with a pressure gauge and hose to inflate it via the standard connector on the front. Once inflated to the correct pressure the board is very stiff and doesn’t bend in the middle. The top has a non-slip material and there are three fins on the bottom for extra stability.
The paddle is made of aluminium and comes in three pieces that can be easily adjustable to suit your height.
The kit is topped off with an ankle strap and a large carry bag that has padded shoulder straps and a strap to clip across your chest so you can carry it like a large backpack. At the current price it represents good value for money.
Very impressed with my Beachbum sup board. The package presentation was fantastic, the paddleboard and accessories far exceeded my expectations. Absolutely zero flex in the middle which was my main concern buying a cheaper board. I got so many comments about the look of the board on the beach! one very happy “beachbum” here.
Absolutely love my new Beachbum SUP. I ordered it on Thursday, ready for the weekend and it came the next day. My wife was able to sit on the front while I paddled around and it was super stable. It doesn’t bend in the middle like a cheaper one I used to have. Will be ordering a second for my wife on payday.
My son has used this lots of times, quality is top banana, he loves it, gonna buy another soon, after I’ve lost a few pounds
