The Casio CTK 3500 has a pitch bend wheel, sustain input and 48 note polyphonic plus Touch sensitive. No other keyboard manufacture can match this for value. You can even play advanced fingered chords in learning the keyboard if you decide on the Kenneth Baker Complete keyboard books. The onboard screen tells you what the chords are in the left hand for aranger for your own backing Band with fingered chords Or you Can play certain piano pieces for the beginner to begin with the Kenneth Baker Complete piano books. The speakers arent very loud. Two watts but ediquate. However the sounds are Most pleasing. It’s very portable. I have been playing both keyboard and piano since mid 1980s. I just want it to go through chords revising on appeggios. To sum a good little keyboard with a nice touch When played. Comes with mains adapter or you can use batteries Sure to give pleasure for those who want to learn music and a hobby to begin with. You are never too old to learn music. Plus you never stop learning..
My daughter started having piano lessons and she needed to practice, no piano at home and we needed a solution that wasn’t ‘piano’; so we opted for this, works well, makes the right sort of sounds, keys feel in good order, not really noticed an upswing in practicing comparing pre-Casio keyboard times to post Casio keyboard times, but that fault does not lie with Casio or their products.
Superb quality for the money, nice feel to the keys and the different piano modes are excellent. All round it’s excellent, my two teenage daughters love it and so do I. Recommend it highly.
Was a Xmas present for my daughter. She loves it and non stop playing i
This item was bought as a present and they are delighted with it fir themselves and their six year old they both love i
This replaced a previous Casio keyboard, only difference from the previous one is that these keys don’t light up! The lights certainly do help in the early stages, as on this keyboard although it ‘talks’ shows the key required to press on the small display. I find it hard to read music (and I do try) so working out the key to press is a little elongated for me, however manage to get by and really love this keyboard. There are more in-built tunes, which is great, more variety to accompany.
The sound is good and clear with many instruments to choose from when playing together with a selection of rhythms, so something for everyone.
If you are a real amateur like me and enjoy playing some of your favourite (simple for me) tunes, really don’t think you can go far wrong.
This was good but moved on to much bigger piano that sound much better but got a starter this is perfec
To properly learn keyboard/piano you need a good touch response, so you can practice expression. This keyboard has really good full-size keys and the touch response is pretty good for the money. There’s plenty of on-board features to assist with learning, but also lots of tones to play around with.
I like the fact that there are many features built into this keyboard, and being pretty much a beginner I still managed to use it and feel I making progress.
I have returned to the keyboard after not playing for many years. This is a good entry keyboard and well priced for touch responsive. I particularly like the information available on the LCD. Features (voices, rhythms etc) are what you’d expect for the price.
I have no musical experience, this was a lockdown purchase! It feels great quality and it’s easy to hook up to my iPad for interactive lessons (with an additional cable).
No complaints at all.
A great keyboard for the price, pretty simple to use & lightweight.
I chose this model after checking the positive reviews on Amazon and online You Tube videos.
I expect the sound is something to be desired compared to the more expensive options but as a beginner it really sounds fine to me.
I was half expecting it to end up in the cupboard under the stairs after a week gathering dust with my exercise Bike and Smoothie Maker but I am using a couple of Apps to teach myself and up to now it’s going well & I’m really enjoying it.
I’ve called him Elton.
I am amazed at how much you get for your money. Touch sensitive keys, 5 octaves, 400 sounds +++. The music stand is a bit naff, but that is the only fault with it that I can find. You might like to think about getting a ‘Sustain Pedal’ and a set of headphones while you are at it. I don’t think you will be disappointed with this purchase.
My daughter loves this. We bought it to help with her homeschooling as she does music and is playing keyboard. She is having so much fun with all the features on it. She has learnt so much already and I love that she can plug in the headphones and play away without driving everyone mad.
Absolutely love it. Beginner myself but I imagine experienced people will get a lot of joy from it too. Sound is clear and no distortion at max volume. Volume is good in the house, we have no need to max it out or add additional speakers. Keys have a nice feel to them and the pressure sensitivity works very well. It’s light weight and easy to move around the house. Feels well built. The only downside would be the screen not being back lit but it hasn’t been an issue for us.
Family members have a slightly cheaper keyboard from a lesser known brand and this smashes it in every aspect. It’s honestly a joy to get out and play, the whole family are loving it. Would highly recommend, worth the money.
Looking around for a keyboard with touch sensitive keys and midi output (really needed for most learning apps)
This was very good value at 116.
The keyboard feels great and sounds good though it’s not very loud. A good thing as my nine year old is the main player!
The only disappointment is the music stand, just a single wire in a C shape. it supports books well but not single sheets and certainly not tablets. My fix was using black duct tape between the supporting arms. Doesn’t look too bad and of course it usually has music on it anyway.
A solid recommendation as all other big brand keyboards i could find with 61 keys, touch response and midi output were far more expensive.
No lock-down dog.. lock-down piano. The trouble is I am not 8 and I am really struggling to learn something new – but this is a great little keyboard.
Bought as in a decent price bracket – it is not the loudest of things, but ample for my room – it would struggle in a bigger venue unless through an amp. Ok, not 88 keys, but sufficient to confuse a beginner. The piano sound is ok – it sounds like a piano to me, and that is important – you can change the sound to a host of others – I will leave that until later.
The keys feel ok – again, I am a novice and I have nothing to compare with, but it is fun to use.
The one big gripe I have with it is the silly music stand – it is useless. The frame is too small for music books or sheet music – indeed, so small you cannot even clip onto it to hold music books. The recess in the unit to sit the books in is too narrow and too shallow, so the books / music just falls off – poor design. Simple to rectify with some cardboard and cable ties, but that is not the point – poor marks for that Casio.
I have put the unit on a rockjam stand – works very well, but equally will sit on a table.
I have had hours of ‘fun’ learning so far – excellent keyboard for the price
Not bad to start but the headphones input doesn’t work.
It makes a lovely sound and it great value for money considering it has touch sensitive keys. Attractive too. Nothing to really complain about. Just be aware how big this many keys are, it took up a lot of space
it had been delayed for delivery 3 times, but i guess it was a one- off situation. the keyboard however arrived 1 day before the extended arrival estimate. extremely good condition, really easy to open and just overall good.
Bought this for my son as beginning to learn to play piano. Disappointed that there was no stand included as this is what was stated in the description, but I think that this is a great keyboard for beginners and hopefully should last him a while.
Total newbie
I think its fine
As for tuition I’d take advantage of the on line offer to join Skcoove for a month .the learning screen on the organ is a tad to small for me.
Other wise it does what it says on the box good fun really enjoyable
I love this piano with all my heart!
This is actually the most perfect beginner piano at a decent price point.
Everything from the range of instruments to the sound of it.
My favourite is 006, I forgot the name of it, but it’s so beautiful to play with it.
The keys feel really comfortable when you push them, although over time (I’ve had this for a decent amount of time now and the keys are clicking which is annoying, but bearable. It’s really fun to play with, I’ve learnt 4 songs since I bought it and I’m so proud of myself.
My mom loves it too and now I’m teaching her how to play it. Hah!!!
Fun times.
In conclusion;
This piano, the casio ctk 3500, is a definite recommendation.
One hell of piano, wish the keys were more durable, but it’s more than enough at this price range and I’m actually used to it, so it’s less annoying.
I recommend this to any beginner.
Even if you’re not a beginner and you play hours on end, still recommend this piano.
So worth the money.
Enjoy playing as a beginner great value product would recommend for beginne
It arrived fast, and my daughter loves it. She has waited years to get one and was so pleased to receive this and it is well looked after. I did purchase a padded case due for extra protection. Is as described.
I’m starting from scratch learning to play keyboards in middle age and this Casio model is just great. I’m sure I’m only using 10% of its capability but its lightweight and sturdy and does everything I need it to.
This keyboard is great. For young and old. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the music stand is just a metal n shape that slots into 2 holes. If your music is only a couple of pages it falls through the stand. It really ought to be solid with a little stand. There is no rest for the music.
So far very pleased with keyboard. Have to say though that then it had been clearly opened before it was delivered to me as the seal had been broken. Nothing appears to be missing. I was worried that this may have been a returned item. Quality of the product however seems very good
From unpacking you can really tell this is a well built product. Although I played the drums in the local band alongside my friends for many years, I am a complete beginner to the keyboard and feel pretty lucky to be learning with something that is probably meant for bigger things. I have mostly been using the learning function and the Chordana app. To be honest I was expecting the app to be hopeless but it’s actually very easy to use and I’m finding its a useful tool so far! Really impressed with the keyboard so far and can’t fault it. Hopefully I’ll improve and do it justice one day
This is an impressive keyboard and we have barely scratched the surface of its capability. Able to produce over 400 tones, as a wide range of instruments the sound quality of this system is excellent. It is able to help teach you play and you can download an app which can help by providing a visual aid. It also has a setting (Dance Music Mode) which encourages you to create your own pieces. The keyboard is very well made and feels like a quality item. We had a cheaper keyboard which was fine, but this is a different league entirely.
Ultimately, if you are looking for a quality keyboard this has to be well worth consideration. It is a fantastic keyboard.
