Very nice that is thin, I see people complaining the glass is thin, actually all those high quality wine glasses are thin and clear, they worth handle with care.
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my dad along with the corresponding white wine glasses. We both absolutely loved them and he’s kept them safe to be the posh set and for use with guests.
Are they really sturdy? No, but that’s just because they’re wine glasses. They definatly have a luxurious feel, a nice weight (I really don’t like light wine glasses) and they look expensive wherever they’re placed.
They’re beautifully crafted with a nice stem length and a lovely big cup area for the wine to sit in, they take a lot of wine whilst looking like there’s not a lot in the glass which again makes them look very graceful.
I love these glasses and I’m sorely tempted to get some for myself

A bit on the small size for red wine glasses – however are really nice for white wine – so very pleased.

These glasses are of good quality and are nicely shaped. The stems are not as long as some and therefore fit snugly in the dishwasher, just as planned.
These glasses are ideal fir everyday drinking of red win. The feel good and are a pleasure to use.

These are a nicely designed set of glasses. They feel good , look good and are well weighted for security in the hand or when set down . Getting to the bottom of the bowl to clean it is not the easiest task but if it is soaked first it is not a problem.

Perfect size and shape. Some reviews say thin glass. But I disagree the glass is fine but not cheap and they are heavy enough to feel good quality.

I put one in the sink to wash and it cracked. I know they were half price but this is still a lot more expensive than I had been paying. The cheap ones did the same. I love the size and shape, maybe I was a bit clumsy, time will tell

These glasses are lovely. I’m obsessed with elegant glasses and these are perfect. I was a bit reluctant to buy them as the price was low but I’m so pleased I did.

Thick stalk but thin top, really elega
After two false starts where the glasses arrived smashed we finally on the third occasion had them in tact. They are absolutely fantastic value for money – thing but very elegant looking and nicely made. They’d probably be too thin for the dishwasher so hand washing would be needed. They are quite tall as well.
Really nice glasses and perfect with a good Burgundy wine. Quite thin as you’d expect so be careful with them.

Beautiful glasses. Wash up very well with a clear finish. Great value for money. These are my regular use wine glasses. Size is perfect and not too tall to topple over. Wasnt expecting such lovely glasses for the price I paid. They are rather fragile so I wash by hand but for the price there is no complaints!

I have been looking for “shorter” wine glasses for a while now and these fit the bill. Good quality crystal glasses that actually fit in the top shelf of my dishwasher.
Purchased as a Christmas present. Person I gifted them to seems to break glasses a lot so left the review for a while to see if they could stand up to the use.
They look great, very nice and elegant and so far no breakages at all so very happy
These are good glasses for every day use as they are sturdy but still look attractive.

I’m really pleased with these beautiful glasses. They were a really good price. They are very thin so must be handled with care. Delivery was as specified and they were packed very securely.
Great price for Dartington crystal. All of our wedding crystal was Dartington wine master and a few glasses have broken over the years. These were replacements for the chefs tasters we had from 2006. The design has evolved ever so slightly so it’s not a perfect match. But it’s very close.
Love them, used every time we open a bottle of wine.

Can hold a large volume of wine if needed
Only down point is its not easy to clean these unless you have a bottle washer due to their depth and narrow neck

These are attractively-shaped glasses best kept for informal use. Well proportioned if yours is a large. They do feel quite fragile but at this price it’s difficult to do better.

I purchased a range of these glasses and they came up trumps. Smart design, allied with a practical nature, made them an ideal purchase.
My husband is not usually one to notice items such as wine glasses let alone remark about them, so the Dartington Crystal Red Wine Glasses must be pretty good to warrant a comment. He thought the shorter stem of the glass improved the enjoyment of the wine and also was very comfortable to use. Neither of us are pretentious over wine, we know little about it but know what we like and I agree that our usual Merlot (a low-priced favourite) did seem to taste better from the glass and promptly had some more wine – just to make sure, of course!
The design is unusual and is one that both of us thought very stylish, yet practical; I also liked the Dartington name etched discreetly on the foot of the glass.
The glasses are quite fine and I used my usual routine of hand-washing/rinsing them (everyday tumblers go in the dishwasher), leaving them to drain on my dish rack until dry then buffing with some kitchen roll to remove any smears without any mishaps at all. So as far as durability is concerned, I would judge them to be no more fragile than any other decent wine glass.
Although the price isn’t available at present, I think I remember them as costing around the 20 mark, which I think is reasonable for the quality.

These are great, simple, and reasonably well priced wine glasses made of crystal glass. I’m impressed at the quality for this price point. They arrived well packed and protected, and after unboxing I could tell immediately that they are good quality. They’re not the thinnest cut, so the chime isn’t super load, but for this price, that was never expected – it also means they’ll survive a few more knocks which is exactly what you want from an every day glass. My only uncertainty is to why they are sold as ‘Red wine’ specific glasses. I’ve used them for white too, and can confirm that they worked perfectly well with that variety too!

I was pleased to sample and test this set of 6 crystal red wine glasses. They each have a 450ml capacity.
I liked the fact that the glasses are easy to hold and the design is a different one to the recent fashion
of large glasses with a long stem. This design has an attractive appearance.
The crystal appears robust to me -perhaps it is the design as they are a little shorter than other types-
but it felt comfortable in the hand.
I have been using them for just over ten days and I am very pleased.
Overall it is a very good product and a very reasonable cost.
Very fine structure, very thin stems make these a little tricky to get a good grip one.
Looking at them, you would not realise they are crystal, the finish on the base has an unfinished nodule and they look and feel like glass.
Nice and big for red wine or a spritzed Rose and Tonic, these would have to be cupped in the hand, thus warming the liquid up.
I know the posh wine types think it is sacrilege to cool red wine, but having lived in intense heat in the tropics, it has to be cool for me and therefore I like a thick stem for my large man hands.
Look good, but then so do my glass red wine glasses, but the chunkier build is more fashionable and durable.
The package doesn’t say this – but never get mixed up dish-wash these, they will haze and crack.
A set of six large, 450 ml, wine glasses. The glasses are lightweight but stand well without wobbling around. Everything here is minimalist from the plain shape and design of the glasses to the Dartington presentation box but; as a basic set of matching glasses that hold a good sized drink they’re absolutely OK. Delighted that this set arrived in one piece without any cracks or breakages.
Dartington is a long-established fine glassware British company, though like all such companies now, the glasses are made abroad. Dartington has generally targeted itself now in the middle market of fine wine glasses, as there is such competition in the wine and drinks glasses market.
This set of six glasses represents very good value for money. This size is ideal for red wine, so you have room to appreciate the nose. The glass is high quality though not quite as thin and crystal perfect as say Riedel Vinum. They are ideal for if, like me, you drink fine wine most days and you need a clear, well made glass with a good capacity to presents and analyse the wine well.

These were part of a larger housewarming present and were very well received. They arrived quickly and were well packaged.
Excellent value, quality glasses for any occasion. Delicate stem, a generous bowl and nice thin lip. A pleasure to drink from.
I hate drinking from a glass with a beaded, that is rounded lip, and these are clean cut and thin. The stems are grown on, not butt joined, so your fingers feel a smooth transition from bowl to base, without a seam. Beautiful to hold and nicely proportioned. Do not dishwash, I’ve found you get that white swirling that ruins a glass forever.
John Lewis did a similar glass, their fine red wine glasses, but disappointingly the latest stock now has the rounded lip.

Versatile & stylish quality glassware, as I have come to expect from this range. I bought them to replace 1 that I had broken.
Large enough that you can still appreciate the bouquet on most wines, and has cut down our wine consumption from when we used to believe that “buckets on sticks” were the only way to enjoy wines.
Slightly shorter stems mean they fit in the dishwasher, while still looking like nice full-sized wine glasses. Exactly what I’ve been looking for.

Excellent packing and usual speedy delivery. Reasonably heavyweight glasses, but with no nasty thick rim. Look forward to them lasting somewhat longer than my previous set. Only downside is the size which regretfully seems to have increased our wine consumption, but I’m putting up with that….
