Great little machine. Highly efficient at removing water from the air. Dries my washing in hours. Quite heavy when full. I use the water for my iron as it’s ironised. Recommended
I bought this as an alternative to using our tumble drier and it hasn’t disappointed. In a bedroom with an airer full of washing it will dry a 7Kg load in about 6 hours and even on full power it only draws 160W.
I’ve also been using it around the house and it means we can keep the kitchen windows closed whilst cooking without the windows streaming with condensation. So we can keep the heat in from the cooker without suffering from damp, a double energy saving.
At the Government Energy cap of 34p/kWh this costs just under 6p an hour to run unlike my tumble drier which costs 47p/hour and can only dry 5Kg of a 7Kg load of washing.
It also comes with a free second year of warranty from the manufacturer. Result!
May be a bit noisy for light sleepers but works a treat!
Timer on/off is a useful function.
Haven’t tried the app smart feature, there’s no need to in my view.
I bought the small one and I’m very happy, it’s removing lots of water, I used to wake up with 76% of humidity, now with this Devola dehumidifier in 2 hours is already at 60%!!!! I turn it on before to go to bed and sometimes after I wake up.
My house is small 40m2.
This is great!
It’s a great size-not too big,
Easy to control,
Pretty quiet compared to others I’ve had,
It shuts off when it gets full,
2 speeds,
Timer,
I’m Amazed how much water it sucks in!!
Compact and nice looking and extracts 2 pints of water twice a day from our guest room that has had condensation problems. Only had it for a couple of weeks, hope it will make a difference to the damp levels
This dehumidifier is quite a neat, compact unit. It is, however, rather a heavy unit, weighing in at fourteen and a half kilos. The weight isn’t much of a problem once this is unpacked and on the storey where you want it to be, as the unit has wheels on the underside. The wheels move easily on both hard and carpeted flooring types. There is a carry handle on top of the unit to help move it from floor to floor in a house. The housing is a predominantly shiny white plastic, with a matte black top and outlet/intake grilles on the back and right hand side.
The accompanying manual is fairly poorly written. It’s clearly translated and rather inaccurately so — you are for example advised to “keep windows and doors short when possible” while running the machine.
Despite the rather clunky manual, the machine itself is pretty easy to use. There is a clear digital display and 6 buttons — for power, timer, humidity, auto/continuous drying, fan speed, and internal drying. The dehumidifier can be used either to fill an inbuilt water tank — in which case there is an automatic cut off that stops the machine from working when the tank is full — or with a drainage hose (included) attached for continuous functioning.
The latter function is a bit less effective on this machine than on another one I have. On the other machine a long hose that could be popped easily into a sink was included, but on this model the included hose is only 50cm long and has to be run downwards from the outlet on the machine — so unless you have this positioned e.g. on a worktop draining in to a sink is going to be hard to achieve.
This doesn’t have a specific setting to help with drying clothes indoors, which I had expected from my past experience of using a dehumidifier “internal drying” to be. Instead, “internal drying” is a self-cleaning process allowing the unit to dry itself out, to prevent its insides from becoming mouldy — a process which takes about an hour.
This does a good job of removing excess moisture from rooms, though because the continuous drainage setting is impractical for the room we have it in, we have only been using it on the automatic mode where it fills to an internal storage tank. In use, the fan is pretty quiet on the lower setting, but a bit more noticeable on the higher speed.
This came in a cardboard sleeve advertising that this is a ‘Great British brand’, though in smaller print on the side it becomes apparent that this was made in China (listed as P.R.C.).
This Devola dehumidifier seem to werk well and with the HEPA filter helps keeping the air clean with my other air purifier.
While it’s running, it’s fairly quiet for what a dehumidifier can be, my old one was way louder than this.
I find the app a git of a gimmick and I just use it without, but I guess it can be a selling point for who wants to control it while not at home.
Overall I think it’s worth the price as I have no issues with it and the brand is reliable with the two years warranty.
When delivered this was a heavy bit of kit but after taking out of packaging i noticed it was not so big and bulky it was slim-lined it looks well beautiful for people who do throw packaging out like i do no not
DO NOT THROW BOX OUT as the lid of box you will discover has wood in it for this to stand on. The handle on top of this beauty makes it easy to pick up and carry room to room if required with a coil for the lead and even a plug insert in back making it even easier to make portable when switched on it is real quiet compared to older ones and with the new style comes the new energy saving you in the pocket personally i am going to use this item to keep my ageing big black flat coated retriever my best pal my dog who is 10 years this year and has always suffered from heat in summertime and we have tried many cooling items and as he is sensitive as scared of wind i think finally we have a result well done
I’m very happy with this product so far. It’s so quiet that I can barely hear it running! It’s so small and compact I can fit it under a table in my basement so there’s no clutter. This unit will remove up to 50 pints of water per day over 5 degrees . If temperatures fall below 5, the unit can be used as a heater. You can wait for the tank to fill up or use the supplied hose connection into a drain of your choice. Unpacking and installation took less than 10 minutes and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. Pretty awesome and slick looking unit. I’ve had several dehumidifiers over the years but none have impressed me to the level this one has.
Easy set up, just connect the filter in and it’s ready.
I placed it in my garage which has been leaking in and it’s calculated that humidity within the room and it is high, my hope is this machine can lower that %
I’m highly impressed already with how much water it has collected from the room, it’s definitely working it’s magic.
Another great use for a dehumidifier it that I can place a clothes horse in front of it with wet clothing on it and it will draw out the moisture from the clothing, perfect for delicate garments.
