After 7 hours of negotiating my plant gang had stood on the bug’s necks for so long that we didn’t notice the virus spreading across planets and becoming king. 10/10, there is not better full-day board game.

Twilight Imperium was already 10/10 game for me, we play it once every month.
This expansion adds sorely missed exploration aspect and really strong and fun new factions.
The new agents and mechanized units rebalance the old factions – there still seems to be some issues, but you can check Fantasy Flight Codex updates where they try to fix them. There is now a bit more randomization than before, so you have to adjust your metagame.
I love everything in TI so I am obligated to love this too
This is a expansion. Very good addition to the basic 4th edition, almost a must have. It adds so much good stuff that you dont really want to play without it.

Got this as a gift for my son for Christmas! Amazing game.
Be warned, the games are CRAZY long! On the box it clearly says 3-6 hours per game, and they aren’t kidding. Our first game was 10 hours long because we were learning. Our second was much shorter, but still 3 hours long. That seems super long, but the game is so fun that it is worth it and we didn’t notice how long it took.
It really does take 5-8 hours to play. Shorter games for either less peopler or more experienced players.
This game was bought as a gift for my son because he played it with some of his friends and really enjoyed it. For Christmas I bought him his own version of the game he loved it. while the rules are complicated, with time and practice the game can be picked up fairly quickly. the expansion is also a nice added bonus I would recommend as well. Overall, Twilight Imperium has a little something for everyone.

This game has it all. The only problem is that once you start playing this game, it’ll make every other board game seem inadequate in comparison. I love it and have the benefit of living near a group of friends who are willing to play relatively frequently. I had no issues with delivery. The game arrived in good shape.
If you’re not familiar with the game, it’s not the easiest to learn, but worth the time. Moreover, my friends and I were continually discovering new rules each time we’d play for the first 5-6 playthroughs.
I’d recommend this game to anyone who loves long strategy games. It truly is the greatest in its category.

My top recommendation- teach your neighbors to play this. The games take a long time but are very worthwhile. Having people who can just walk over for a quick round or three makes things much more enjoyable than having to schedule a 10-hour game night.
A masterpiece board game (30+ years old!) that has evolved and been updated with obvious passion and love. Speedy delivery and packaged with attention!

Now planets can be explored when first landing on them, granting you one time or permanent effects non-planet syste can also be explored once the corresponding technology has been researched.
The leader system introduces new mechanics as well, from an always on effect to a once per game effect of the so called hero unit.
The Expansion adds 7 new species, each with their individual strenths and weaknesses to the game increasing the number of species available to 24 in total. So even with 8 players at the table you could play three games without seeing the same species twice.
If you have played less complex less timeconsuming games so far but you are generally into board games give Ti4 a try. The Learn to play rules in the base game make it rather easy to get your first round going and once you get the hang of it, I dare say it is rather addictive.
Very fun! And never the same twice. Long, but lots of fun! My wife even played! She enjoys the politics.
This is an epic strategy game based on the original Twilight Imperium game system.
Bought this for my nephew. He was so excited he made us all learn and play (we were all first timers) and tho it took a while for us older folks to get the hang of it while the younger set ran circles around us, an oldie ended up winning the game in the end – albeit with TONS of assistance, suggestions, hints, advice and help from the young ‘uns. This is a fun game that’s pretty inclusive: not overly misogynistic, racially insensitive, gender biased or even too militaristic (tho it certainly can be depending on players’ ruthlessness). It takes cues from a bunch of big sci-fi hits so it’s relatable but unique enough that it’s interesting. With 5 new players, it took us about 3.5hours to get thru.

So, the talk is true. Our first game with four players took us about 10 hours to play. But it didn’t feel that long as we were all immersed in the game. The rules and gameplay seem deceptively simple on a first play, but it’s obvious there’s a great deal of depth, strategy and tactics to the game. The different factions all have their pros and cons making the experience different for each player and all components are of a high quality. All in all, a great, fun game that we’re looking forward to getting to grips with. Highly recommend.
