So these are a bit more price wise than others and I wasn’t sure how the flame effect would work. However I’ve been very impressed.
* Ambient light — these give more of a feel to the environment giving off some light but not lighting up the area strongly but enough to see about.
* Flame effect – the glass is frosted and also has a finish to it like cracks on parts, doesnt ruin the look but does enhance the flame the effect given off so you dont get any LED light spots.
* The batteries don’t look replaceable – well not easily!
The leds themselves are powered by solar and they are many of them inside which are turned on and off to give the effect of the flame dancing.
I havent had them long enough to know how long they will last but I hope a long time.
Love these lights, in fact I’ve bought more so they are all around the garden, great crackle flame effect and bright enough for subtle lighting around the decking area
Beautiful just gutted they were reduced soon after buying.
I have mounted to Shepherd hook.
I leave outside UK weather unless very windy.
So far so good obviously with these kind of items they have limited shelf life but for the right price good for a summer?
Very realistic flame flickering
Great packaging, great design, clearly a quality product.
Bought two sets as was so pleased with the first one. The flames look very realistic and they give off a very attractive light. Hoping they will last the test of time.
They look lovely and like a lights up like a flickering flame, they charge well and have worked in the winter, they work just like other solar lights but it looks fantastic, the quality is good
Very pretty lights that arrive well packed in polystyrene. The best way to remove each light is to find the cord and pull out of the box. The lights do not work as soon as you pull them out but do need to be switched on by removing the lid. Now the lid isn’t as secure as I would have liked and the silicone seal comes away as you open it up. Even in the light of my bedroom these lights worked straightaway so twilight is ok as they will work. So these can be placed on a table or as the crackled glass has a flat bottom or hung. Inside the solar lantern is powered by two batteries but should these fail you don’t really have the option to change unless your a dab hand with a soldering iron and know basic electronics. The small led lights flicker up and down that when behind the frosted crackle glass look like flames
I’m so happy with these flickering flame solar lights. They came very well packaged, in polystyrene so they won’t break. You get two in a pack and I think there really good value for money. They also come with a little description of how it all works. Which is good because without them I would have put them outside without turning them on. When you take them out of the packaging the design is lovely with frosted glass. I haven’t seen them work yet as the weather has been really bad where I live and we’ve had no sun for weeks. You take the top off and open it and there’s an on and off switch so be sure to turn it on before you use them. Im really pleased with these and cannot wait too see them flickering in my garden when the weather gets better. Thankyou highly reccomended.
Cute solar lights that look like they’ve got little fireflies inside. I’ve got mine in the conservatory as the rope handle would soon rot if left outside to cope with the Winter weather and the lid doesn’t seem very secure or watertight so for now they’re decorating our conservatory. They still work great though, even indoors the seem to get enough light to power them. They don’t light up for long as there’s not a lot of sun out but they’re be great in the sunnier months. Very pretty and they feel solid as they globes are made of glass.
These add magical light to your garden. They are a very warm amber color, so while they won’t match your other lights, it makes them all the nicer as an accent. I do wish I could choose from the other colors though. You can either have amber or set it to cycle thru all the colors… but I’d prefer the option to set some say red/green, purple/amber, green/blue, all red or all green or some other holiday appropriate combination rather than having colors fade in and out. But I’m okay with having all amber, it adds a touch of wonder at night and I’ve had several compliments from the neighbors.
I absolutely love this set of two hanging solar lights!
The lights are hung using a thick sturdy rope. The glass bulb has a kind of crackle effect and is made from real glass. Although sturdy, they would not withstand being dropped on the ground so I would definitely advise caution when hanging up outside. Maybe take them down during the winter months and store away so that strong winds don’t blow them from their hanging position.
As with all solar products, there is an on off button located inside the lamp so you need to unscrew the globe and flick it on otherwise it won’t work no matter how much sun it gets!
These are really good quality and very very pretty once hung and on, I definitely recommend as they are good value for money and a fantastic addition to any garden.
These are one of the most stylish solar light lanterns I’ve had, they really do look good am look quite authentic because of the frosted glass.
In the pack you receive two lanterns, with a rope handle each and a solar panel embedded in the lantern top. It charges effectively, though as with all solar lights in the less sunny months you obtain less energy so the light doesn’t stay on as longer.
These lanterns look great hanging from trees or placed on a flat surface, or hing from a wall. They really have plenty of flexibility. I’m really happy with these, though can’t comment on value for money as no price listed at the point of review. Happy to recommend in quality.
These lanterns come well packaged. Do be careful removing them from the packaging. The glass part is quite heavy and of a good thickness. I like that they are fully charged when you receive them. These are simple to operate as it’s just an on/off switch inside the fitting. These can be used in a conservatory or outside. The rope can go around a hook or branch of a tree. They are easy to charge and so place them in an unsheltered location. Bring them inside during bad weather. These will last for several hours once fully charged. The flickering flame effect is very good. The pricing is very good for the overall quality.
I have this solar glass decoration lights in a set of 2.
They arrived nicely and securely boxed with user guide.
Lights look well made and are quite big and have some weight in them due to glass jars being made from a thick glass.
They can stand or be hanged by the attached rope.
Lights are very stable when standing.
They are made from crackled type glass and frosted from inside; semi-transparent, however the frost peeled off in few places leaving the glass ‘clear’. The imperfections are little, so hard to notice but I can see them as I know where they are.
There is solar panel built-in in the plastic lid. The lid has a silicone seal, but it seats on the jar very loosely, so I think it is not waterproof, so I’ve put it on my roofed patio.
There is a switch button on the reverse of solar panel.
When switched ON it is charging during sunny/bright days and automatically switches ON light at dusk.
Usually it stays ON for a few hours, but it depends how well it charged during the day.
The LEDs flicker nicely similar to real candles.
The light is very cosy, yellowish almost orange imitates fire well.
LEDs are very energy efficient and have a long life span, so I hope that lights will last for long when protected from the rain.
Beautiful lights, have some imperfections, and lids are not tight on the jars, but overall well made.
Beautiful lanterns. We put them both in the front garden as with them being solar that’s where we get most sun.
One of the lanterns is beautiful, really bright and classy looking. Our neighbour liked it so much he asked for the link to buy some but unfortunately for him they’re showing as unavailable at the moment so hopefully they’ll be back in stock soon.
The only problem I had is one of them won’t work at all. I can’t even say its not bright enough as there is no light from it at all. It was situated right next to the other one in the front garden so I can’t blame it on the shade either.
I just think mine was a one off and I got a box that one was possibly a dud. It wouldnt put me off buying tho as the reviews show that mine is obviously a one off and the vast majority are fantastic.
These lanterns provide a lovely glimmering candle effect when it is dark and they have been able to get enough sun throughout the day to charge. Lighting time is very much reduced during the winter months due to lack of sunlight so you really need to site these where they will receive the maximum amount of sun possible. They are well made and quite expensive looking and I have found that they make a nice glow when sited on my bathroom window sills which acts as a night light for quite a few hours of darkness.
These lanterns arrived in a branded box and were securely packaged in polystyrene to protect them during transit
The lanterns came with a small instruction booklet but it’s really easy to set them up. Just remove the protective film from the solar panel, unscrew the lid and flick the switch underneath to on, you will need to unravel the wire too. Then replace and watch the magic begin
I’ve attached a video showing the lanterns flickering and I think it looks magical, I really like the effect. If you look at one of my photos you can see tiny lights on the pole inside, these flicker on and off, going up and down to create the flame effect
The lanterns have hessian string handles so can be hung up on poles or fences etc using this, or they can be free standing and placed on the ground or a table, either way I think they look really pretty and I am happy to recommend them
An attractive duo of glass lanterns arrive very securely packaged, each set in polystyrene within a sturdy branded box that would really look the part if you’re thinking of gifting.
The finish to each of these lanterns is opaque crackle glass. With the trim around the rims and the ends of the rope handles in high shine silver tone, they look very appealing even before they’re lit.
Look inside the lanterns and you’ll see a cylinder comprised of lots of tiny lights which go on and off when the lanterns are in operation – and very effectively simulate a flame effect. Ingenious. No need to plug these in or keep buying batteries – they’re solar powered. Which means once they’re switched on, you don’t need to touch them. They’ll keep activating night after night once it grows dark. This also means they’re eco-friendly.
That said, this is November. It’s cold, can be rather windy and the light levels are low. So at this time of year if you’re living in the UK don’t expect too much of this pair of solar lanterns as they do take their power in the daytime from the light and if there’s little light, they won’t shine for too long in the evenings. They will obviously perform much better in spring and summer than in the colder months.
The fact that they’re glass adds to their quality – but equally makes these lanterns more vulnerable. Nonetheless, I like these a lot and would recommend them. No price available at time of writing so I’m unable to comment on the value.
The items come beautifully packed. You take them out and see some lovely globes with a crackle finish. Once switched on you see the pleasing flame effect, rather like a guttering candle.
They can be hung using their ropes, but they have flat bottom so you can stand them up.
My only complaint is the solar “lids” are quite loose and they are not very weighty so they might blow off in heavy winds.
This twin pack of flame effect solar lights arrived very well packaged in their own box with polystyrene inserts.
They consist of a glass lamp with a hurricane shattered effect on the outside.
They have a solar panel in the lids and a tube inside with little LED lights that create the flame effect.
There is a metal hanger around the neck of the lamp and thick rope hanging loops.
These solar lamps are quite heavy and I have put them on my garden table.
They don’t produce much ambient light, it’s more of a flickering candle effect which itself is very bright.
They worked the first night even after only being out in the autumn afternoon sunlight for a few hours.
I’m assuming that they were pre-charged as they worked for many hours from the first night.
I’ve awarded them a 4 star because I can’t seem to find a way to securely attach the solar panel lids to the glass lamp. They just seem to rest in position, which seems fine, but I would have liked to have secured them with a clip or screw top. There is a sort of waterproof rubber seal in the lid.
These are very pretty lamps which have a lovely flickering flame effect that automatically turns on when it turns dark. The solar panel charges the battery during the day. There is an on/off switch under the lid if you wanted to turn them off to store them, but otherwise once turned on they work automatically.
They are quite heavy so would need a secure hook or nail to hang them from, but they also look lovely standing on a firm base or shelf.
They would make a lovely gift for the garden, hung either side of a doorway or as an outdoor table centrepiece.
I absolutely adore anything that adds more light or Beauty to my garden so these flame solar powered lanterns seemed like the best thing.
When they arrived they were packaged securely inside a box, both held in place with protective styrofoam. However when I extracted them from the box I noticed both lanterns had discernible marks on the exterior. Upon closer inspection I could see the outer aspects of the lights were very easy to scrape and mark. What I thought was a wonderful white cracked glass effect is in fact just painted on. Hence the markings that showed the transparent glass beneath.
It might not be a large scrape but at night time when the lanterns are lit up and the glow shines out through those areas, it’s very noticeable.
The rope handle is a beautiful touch to the design, giving it a semi-nautical feel. It’s thick and strong so you’re able to hang these lights up without fear of the handle breaking. I like that they’re solar powered, charging much or the daytime and giving off a wonderful moonlit like glow in the dark.
Apart from the scratches on the orbs I do really like these and think they’re worth the price.
A nice pair of lanterns – very flickery and flame like, which can be a little annoying – I would have liked to have an option to go static but sadly there isn’t one.
Lovely to look at during the day too.
Good value, great quality and recommended by us.
These are made of nice thick crackled glass which gives them a good weight.
They have a flame effect light, not massively bright but ok for using on a table or just to give a little light to a corner. Or if you had a few, they’d be quite good for a pathway.
I think the look good and are well made.
I absolutely love these. It is a shame its now getting on to winter as I won’t get the benefit of them with the darker nights. They give off a lovely glow and come on automatically when it gets dark. We have hung them on the brackets where the hanging baskets are. They are very light. They are glass so they need to be hung up carefully so they don’t bang against a brick wall. The rope is short so there shouldn’t be too much of a swing. They have a crackle effect on them and they have LEDs inside that give a flicker effect. They are sealed quite well so hopefully no rain or moisture will get inside. I like them , I just hope they last as long as previous ones I have had which wre smilar to these.
The frosted glass & thick rope give these an expensive look, they will stand out amongst my other solar lights.
I like the flame effect – I’ve uploaded a video so you’re able to make an informed choice.
These were on my windowsill all day, at dusk they came to life. All evening they flickered & we’re still going strong at 6am the following morning.
I would not leave these outdoors as I feel they’d be too delicate to withstand a windy day. I’ll keep these indoors & take them outside with me during summer evenings.
I hope you’ve found this review and video helpful.
These are really nice!
They’re quite heavy so being a good weight means they are a good lamp to put on a table in the garden. They are a round globe of frosted, cracked glass effect with a black lid with a solar panel embedded.
The light inside is quite unusual and I’ve never seen one like that before. It’s a tube-like design with lots of tiny lights that flicker on and off which give the effect of a flickering flame.
This is definitely a lamp that’s best viewed in the dark as it really does look like a living flame inside the globe.
It’s a really good quality item. It’s finished beautifully with good quality chrome fixings and a hemp rope.
Personally I would not leave this outside because rope will deteriorate and also because I’d be afraid it would get knocked over and smashed by foxes! Just take it in at night when you’ve finished with it
This is a beautiful pair of lamps and you’ll want to look after them.
I think they are absolutely beautiful and I’m really pleased with these!
I have tried well over a dozen different types of garden solar lamp. Most of them break very quickly. The spike breaks, the panel detaches from the lamp, the wires break, the switch lets in water. These are much better constructed than most and are designed to avoid all these problems. There are a few things you must be aware of.
First, the light is not very bright, but it does flicker like a lantern. Second, finding the right place to put them may be a challenge. It is surprisingly difficult to find a suitable place to hang them without being shaded from the sun. They are made of glass and will shatter in the wind if you if you put them on the ground or on a table. They look nice hanging but I suspect that half the reason for the rope is to avoid accidents.
We already have some glass outdoor hanging lanterns like these but with clear glass so i thought i would try these out too.
Pros
The glass and rope design are lovely. The quality of the glass is very good and the frosted touch is very nice because it can be used for Halloween or just having a nice feature in the garden. The rope is good quality and seems to be well made and strong which is great in windy weather.
Cons
I am not a lover of the flame as it i was hoping it would look more realistic but i found it to be quite robotic
Don’t get me wrong this is a really nice pair of lanterns and the overall look is good, however i think if they could improve the flame look then this would have been a 5 star all day long
Theses solar lightsblook ery different bulbs to any I’ve ever used before. But the style makes them look amazing when lit.
The solar pannelnis on the top of the standard as expected.
The on off switch is on the underneath of the lid just give it a little twist and it pops off easily becareful lifing it up as the bulb is quite long. There is a small on / off switch flick it to on and close it all back up put the lid on and make sure it’s on tight don’t want any rain getting in.
I’ve had mine outside is some strong wind and rain and it still works so bad weather is no issue.
As it gets dark on a night the light will automatically light up and they look amazing hung in the garden the style of bulb really makes it look like there is a real flame flickering away in the domes its beautiful and warm looking.
As it gets light the light will switch off and charge again off the natural daylight ready for the next night.
The handle is a strong rope to hang these lanterns up from.
Been great so far not leaked any water in them like other solar lights I have bought
Solar is really good stay on all nigh
They are nice lights but I feel the light could be a bit brighter plus the recharging battery top could be a little tighter not loose.

I brought this or a present and they loved i
Beautiful lanterns with a great flickering effect. Look perfect in gard
Beautiful, value for money, lovely natural flame colour. Will be buying more when updating the rest and of my garde
Beautiful just gutted they were reduced soon after buying.
I have mounted to Shepherd hook.
I leave outside UK weather unless very windy.
So far so good obviously with these kind of items they have limited shelf life but for the right price good for a summer?
Very realistic flame flickering
The best outside lanterns I have ever purchased. Waterproof and great value. Realistic flame effect from the Leds and look classy. Finished well
Lovely quality
Makes outside dining really cosy.
I’m so glad I purchased them.
Good value
Great packaging, great design, clearly a quality product.
Bought two sets as was so pleased with the first one. The flames look very realistic and they give off a very attractive light. Hoping they will last the test of time.
Bought as a birthday present, for the peerson who has everything, was well received and am told they look lovely in the garde
Great looking, realistic lanterns. They add a really nice atmosphere to any outdoor setting!
Beautiful, long lasting flame effect. The seller is also great. Highly recommend.

I love these solar lights.
