Does what it says in description. Works well for our needs. Bought after our house was burgled (at night while we were sleeping!) in the hope we won’t ever need it.
The camera was very easy to install, the picture quality is great and the solar charging is so far sufficient enough without needing to plug the camera in. We are very pleased with the product.
An excellent product. I bought a second one from ieGeek, the 5MP 360 which is even better.
No monthly subscription for basic function.
Downside is that China may be watching me LOL. But I have nothing to hide.
Personally I suggest paying a few extra quid and getting the 5PM 360.
Amazing bit of kit crystal clear and works as it should lots of features plus easy to install
At price point, this is a great camera. Very easy to set up, easy to use, and camera is working great. I have scared the dog to death using the very easy intercom feature! Battery life and solar panel working fine too
East to install. Picture quality great. The app (I use the IOS version) is very intuitive and offers everything you could possibly need.
Does exactly what we wanted easy to set up ourselves which was a great surprise as not very up on tech gadgets and at reasonable price thank you
Had slight connection problem with wifi , but Tiya help me thru the problem
good when working now..
Great camera device , feel very well made. No need to go through all hard wired around your house”charge and go”. My family was all impressed by the device and the all the functions this little device has. Happy custome
Very good value for this type of camera, easy set up and use.
Bought this product recently, very easy to set up and great image quality, would recommend
Very easy to set up and if activated you get a message on your phone. The picture quality is good.
The only downside is deleting videos in the app if they are not needed, it can be a bit slow.
This is a really good camera, I’m very pleased with the view you get plus you can talk and hear people at the door, also watch live. I would recommend this camera.
Very happy with this product, love the solar panel part, no need to charge battery. Always at 100% (South facing garden)
Very easy to install and set up and instructions easy to follow. Set up in ten minutes after downloading the app. Solar panel works well and keeps camera fully charged .
This camera knocks spots off cameras which I have used for years, no need for wiring excellent power supply from WiFi, what a neat little package excellent.
Cannot recommend IeGeek products highly enough.
I have installed two iegeek cameras for an elderly friend and finally started doing my own home. So straight forward to install and setup (please note you can only use the ‘App’ on ONE device (phone) at a time, otherwise you are logged out from the other device. Please also remember you may (?) want to retrive you Micro SD at somepoint, so don’t install your Camera too high up, high enough so it’s completely out of reach, so to speak.
I want to thank Tiya at Customer Services who responded to this review on behalf of ieGeek. She offered superb support to help with the difficulties that I experienced and went out of her way to help resolve them. Excellent customer service – I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase products from them in future. Thank you.
I first purchased an ieGeek CCTV camera in September 2020. Unfortunately, you will see from correspondence that the camera had a fault which meant it would not work when recharged and we were offered either a refund or replacement. I replaced the camera because overall I felt it was a good design.
However, a few months down the line the same fault has recurred, the camera will not work. It seems to be totally dead and is not charging. Please let me have your advice.
Operated for a few weeks and solar panel means no recharge needed. Set up is easy. Having reviewed many products before purchasing and now using the product, this is excellent value for money.
It’s looking good so far. It’s easy to set up and the instructions for the app are pretty straightforward.
I have high hopes for this. Fingers crossed.
This was bought to enable me to keep a watchful eye on our dog, who likes to spend long periods in the back garden and is just what was needed!
Excellent daytime picture with very good motion detection and a very good field of vision.
The night picture is very clear too.
Fitting was straightforward and the set up was ok too once I had got my head round it!!
All in all, a very good product which I am happy to recommend for similar situations.
Great value for money. App is easy to use and setup took only a few minutes. Definitely exceeds expectations.
This really is a first class wireless camera, it ticks all the boxes and I am really happy with my purchase.
The camera has plenty of settings to make it bespoke to individual needs.
The PIR area of detection can be chosen so as not to get alerts that are not required. The video quality can be changed to save the battery, but I use mine on HQ mode, and have not had to recharge in the 5 weeks I have been using it so far. Set up so easy, and so is the mobile app. I will be ordering another for the rear of the house as its that good.
This is my third iegeek camera, this is an updated model, the picture quality is great and I love the strobe light at night. These cameras are great value for money and are so easy to install and use, when your out and about you can check on your phone, also yo can speak to anyone in your garden. The distance is great I can capture across the other side of my street, you also only get snaps of people which is really great. You only need an sd card to record onto. I would recommend this camera
Great for around your property easy to use app. The mounting bracket could be better but ok . Not bad for the money and you can link lots together for different areas, rooms etc ok camera
Fitted the camera plus solar panel a week ago and very pleased with the product. It was easy to link up to phone and iPad and I’m no tech expert. Easy to install and does what it claims. Excellent value for money and gives me peace of mind re security.
The product was simple enough to set up. I would definitely recommend mounting the bracket before starting the app set up because you need to calibrate the camera and so it helps to have the Mount ready for when you get to that stage.
The customisations are great and I’m very impressed with the WiFi antenna strength.
The free seven day cloud storage is great because it means you can use the camera without long term subscription requirements etc.
Does a lot for the money and will consider getting more.
I purchased two of these cameras on the advice of two friends and I am not disappointed. Installation of the cameras themselves were easy, I have them placed from and rear of house accessible via bedroom windows. The app was easy to install and getting the cameras linked up and running was equally easy. I am reviewing the settings daily at the moment as they were only installed 4 days ago but all is working well and providing me with clear pictures and sound.
This is the 3rd ieGeek camera i have bought now and they are first class. Very easy to set up, easy to connect and with a SD card, easy to playback any motion / detection. Took only 15 mins to drill the 3 holes, connect to wi-fi and view live video. Really pleased and would recommend to anyone looking for home CCTV cameras. Good quality products.
Great little security camera for the price point. The picture quality looks incredible and has cool features which can be controlled through a used friendly app like activating an alarm and a bright light. Highly recommended for any setting. I use this in my business and plan to buy a few more as I’m hugely impressed
Bought this security camera to put on my front.impressed on how it covers all my garden.live on a busy room so put the camera facing down a little so it doesn’t get all the traffic.covers right up to my front gate ,front windows and front door and all my path.what more could I ask for . easy to install only problem I had was connecting to my WiFi but that was my fault wasn’t close enough to my WiFi box so make sure when you are connecting be very close to your box .The app is brilliant tells you how strong your WiFi connection is .app is easy to use good quality pictures and videos.I got the one with the solar panel so don’t have to keep charging up that’s good so far in all weather’s.Not had it long but so far so good .I bought a SD card didn’t want to keep paying for cloud one payment for a SD card all sorted Get a 128 one lots of storage then .
I’ve got other ieGeek cameras around my property, but all plugged in, this is the first rechargeable camera I’ve bought. It works really well, I’ve directed at my front door, so it literally only picks up people there. My only disappointment was that I could not use the same app that I use with all my other cameras.
I was looking for reasonable priced security Camera, not only have I found one with excellent features their customer service support is worth 5 stars as well as the camera. I would therefore have no hesitation in recommending this camera, one additional feature when purchasing the camera I couldn’t see an ip rating on the packaging this is shown as ip65.
The camera is easy to install and very sensitive. I have a garden with a length of 15m, the camera has no problem with motion detection, although its factory range is 10m. It is very useful to adjust the day and night motion detection on and off separately. This helps extend battery life. The image from the camera is clear and human detection is perfect. Not once has the camera triggered an alarm when my dog is in the garden. A product worth buying.
Works very well but doesn’t sync with Amazon Alexa and needs frequent recharging.
The camera was easy to set up, easy to install, I really like the function or security alert area selection. So far so good
It was an amazing experience. I was bit concerned about the installation bitnot was super easy to install it. Another important thing was about the battery powered and solar power backed up charging. I had a new built house and I didn’t wanted to drill through the wall for power connection because of the new build insurance. On the other hand I don’t want to take camera off again and again for recharging as I had rough experience in the last month. Bit with ieGeek 2k Solar security i am very much satisfied. First place just to check the battery capacity i installed without sole panel and for whole week battery drop was just 9 % and 145 notifications got and automatically video recorded. Then in the second week I connected with the solar panel and now i am happy camera is charging automatically.
Regarding the human detection and motion detection it’s great experience even on the night mode can record the color video with high quality.
However, I do have little issues for example the cable for sole panel was only 3 meter and the the location of the main door isn’t that good to capture the sunlight. Therefore everyday it’s just charging 2 hours even it’s fully sunny day. With 2 hours it’s still not bad and it’s maintaining the battery from 81-88%. I hope during the summer when there will be sun every day it can work better and i don’t need to take it off for charging.
I would be great if I had either the option to extend the solar cable or the cable could be just 5 meter then camera can be charged even the time now when not sunny every day.
Second challenge o us was the recording time, I didn’t had the se card and I thought it will be recorded automatically on the cloud as I purchased the cloud package. But with basic cloud option it can only record for 6 seconds once camera detect the motion.
I will add SD to increase the time length for the recording.
BTW still manage to tackle this by manually recording. Once I received the notification I open the app and do the recording from the live view option.
Lastly one thing which I completely don’t like is:
When I am using the intercom option i can’t hear anything from the camera location. Looks like it’s not real time 2 way audio.
For example I had a courier guy came and I use the option of intercom to talk to him bitnot was disaster as when I was speaking he was also speaking. He Heard me what unsaid but I couldn’t hear what he was saying and he left the parcel arbiter door.
I could have been much better if I could also hear even the same time I am speaking like a phone.
Although I had 3 minor issues with the camera but overall battery plus solar powered backup with 2k resolution it’s worth of money having ieGeek for home surveillance.
Bought a number of these cameras to put around my house, but wanted to avoid drilling holes in the house and having to run cables.
I’ve been really impressed so far. The connectivity is good, the responsiveness of the motion sensors and the battery life is looking like it will last at least 2 months. I intend to add some solar panels at some point.
It feels substantial enough and like it will last well – and the bracket is easy enough to attach to the wall and can be moved to the right angles with ease.
Overall, very impressed. Likely to add a few more as they feel like a good investment so far.
This is the first security camera I have purchased and I am really impressed with the ease of use of the product.
It is simple to set up and install and, in less than 5 minutes, you can be up and running.
The picture quality in daytime is crystal clear and the night vision mode is superb. It’s easy to set up the monitoring area to avoid nuisance alerts and seems to differentiate between humans and animals.
It’s easy to navigate around the App to download images from alerts and view live feeds.
I have to say, this is fantastic value for such a high spec security camera.
I’ve had this fitted few a few months now and am impressed with the quality and battery lifespan.
The camera is very easy to fit and set up with the app. One thing I would say about it, is that the still pictures taken by the camera aren’t as good quality as what you can pull yourself from the motion detection recorded video, but that’s no biggie as this is easy enough to do.
Would definitely recommend buying!
Generally it works very well. Motion detection isn’t perfect but it’s 95% accurate. The ieGeek software is pretty good and, like most software, any glitches are resolved by a software restart. I’m buying another one to cover the rear of the house, so I guess that summarises my overall positive opinion of the camera.
Easy to build, good quality camera overall. The app does have an option to turn on the alarm and the light manually by phone, not sure if any detection is gonna activate them automatically. I noticed the package was open so it was a returned item with the plastic cover removed already, but it doesn’t matter. The app is plenty of features and options so I’ll need time to learn it 100%. The cloud service is free for 7 days only, so I installed a sd card of 128 GB.
Very good value for money, I wasn’t expecting it to be as good as it is.
The camera is truly wireless. 3 screws for the camera, 3 screws for the solar panel. The power wire from solar panel is a very good length. Live view is possible but does drain the battery if used constantly (not horrendously fast though). We’ve had it up for around 6-8 weeks now before writing this review. We get notifications to 5 devices when motion is detected and with a microSD card in the camera can view the history of motion alerts although it doesn’t record 24/7 only the motion alerts. Quality is clear as can be seen from screenshots day and night. Sound quality is surprisingly good too as is the siren and remote spotlight function. My only suggestion would be if it could work with the HiCam app and thus, the PC program as my other iGeek cameras do. The battery life has dipped to around 40% at its lowest point but even with nearly 2 weeks of constant rain and cloud it’s still charged upto around 90% each day and the solar panel only gets ‘direct’ sunlight around 50% of the daytime. Really can’t fault this camera. The app is free to use and view motion alerts if you have an SD card in the camera. Looks nice too! Does the job very well for the price I don’t think you’ll get better for the price.
Camera delivered quickly and packaged well. Easy to set up and the app is brilliant.
We did have an issue with the camera at one point, 1 email to customer service and it was resolved. Customer service was a pleasure to deal with and won’t hesitate to recommend this company to anyone.
installed outside of bedroom window to ensure wifi connection, very thick walls. So easy to install, the app too, and I am not good with technology. it works a treat. and the picture is so clear, zooming in is a doddle, just pinch the screen, that easy
as on a main road i get a lot of notifications during the day, but its quiet at night so don’t want to mess with settings.
Someone messed with car one night so set this up, now i will know who, if they do it again?
Brilliant, try i
Purchased this and very impressed, ticks all boxes and meets my requirements well. Happily recommend this to others.
Great night vision. If you are looking for a cctv with nice night vision, I will recommend it.
Absolutely brilliant piece of kit Living on a really busy main road I’ve set the range to inside my driveway and sensitivity low so it doesn’t pick up anyone outside the drive been installed for 6 weeks battery still at 33 percent should last around 2 to 3 months at this rate so easy to set up on you’re phone very pleased
Bought 2 of these cameras and to be honest, I have been pleasantly surprised. So 1 installed at front of house, looking over front door and garden. 2nd camera over backdoor and garden. Easy to install both camera and solar panel, easy to tilt both items to position you want.
So, easy to mount, easy to connect to app and easy to use app to set up camera as you want. Solar panels seem to work well, local storage via SD card so no need to pay for cloud storage if you just buy yourself a micro SD card. Picture quality is great for what I need, both day and night. Where you mount cameras is worth giving thought to, you need to ensure there’s no wall or glass for the camera to reflect off as this will disrupt night vision. So cameras facing straight forward seems optimal.
Now, 1 of my cameras had issues so I contacted the customer support via email and I must say they were excellent. After trying a couple of things that didn’t help they arranged for a replacement to be sent which was delivered in a couple of days. Overall I am very happy so far, the cameras do the job I want and offer me the security I wanted, mostly I just wanted to be able to have video of my dogs dealing with any potential intruder which these do brilliantly. Well worth giving these a go and customer service was brilliant.
Had this for about 3 weeks. I’m happy so far. If you are looking for something superfast and with no delays, you might want to spend a little more. I find the live image and videos work better on the ‘SD’ setting, the HD seems to slow it down & make it a bit glitchy – that could just be my wi-fi signal though. Good for the money.
For the price you pay and the ease of install theres not many better options on the market, would highly recommend getting the solar attachment unless you don’t mind recharging once every 4-8 weeks depending on settings.
The setup was really straight forward and the app is very easy to use, with great notifications!! Image quality and design is great and battery life is also very impressive.
Great for seeing any parcels being delivered,I can see they have been delivered and are safe.
I bought 3 of these to keep my home safe from neighbors looking round my garden when I am out and for my personal security. This is easy to set up and the app easy to use. It has good picture quality except in wet conditions then can be blurred, but maybe a hood over it would help? Good lighting and audio on this camera as well. I bought the solar panels as well and so far the charging has been reasonably good even on a darker area, so worth the money and time saved getting these battery camera down to charge. I would buy these again.
bought 2 for car security and house, clear picture quality with the night mode, easy to set up app very good looking to purchase more in the very near future.
Seems OK so far. Doesn’t always pick up on motion. Good picture quality though.
I have bought IeGeek 2k wireless camera few days ago and think it is a good value for money in terms of picture quality and motion detection.
The picture is quite clear even at night and motion detection is very sensitive so I could be alert whenever there is human or object motion. Only concern is consumption of battery. It seems the battery is running out a bit fast and I may need a solar panel to support it.
They say that repeating a behaviour and expecting a different result is a sign of madness. In such a moment I sent back my first ieGeek camera and bought another.
My bad experience with the first was down to a battery failure. I contacted ieGeek helpline and over a few days was asked to try various setting changes. The manufacturer then confirmed that the battery was faulty and offered to send me a replacement, free of charge and without returning the original. I was very impressed by the service provided by the help desk. However, I elected to go through Amazon who accepted my conversation with the help desk as proof of failure and refunded my payment.
I re-purchased and the new unit has been working well for the past two months with the battery remaining fully charged from the solar panel. I realise this may not be the case in winter with less sunshine. We will see.
The picture quality is good, the speaker works and the alarm on people approaching (variable settings) picks up everyone without false alarms.
So far the device has operated in sun and rain, yet to be tested in frost and snow.
Wi-Fi connection and battery operation makes for easy set-up and no cable connections.
The fact I repurchased indicates that I think the device design and operation is excellent. Assuming no further ‘ battery failure’ or similar issues I will be very pleased with my purchase.
Bought this security camera 2 weeks ago, very easy install, good battery time, quite clear picture quality even night time. Recommended if you looking for a wireless, battery camera.
Going to a honest review.
In short I returned these!
Great Night vision both IR or in colour. Built in spot light good. Audio and image quality great. Sound has a 1s – 2s delay normal for wireless.
Set up very easy although the manual doesn’t explain some of the apps features
However,
Needs either SD card or Cloud storage at additional cost. However if on a Family network so both myself and my wife can view on our devices. Only the admin can view the history on Cloud storage. The seconded person on the account can only view Still images or stuff stored to Sd card/cloud
I would advise the developers to modify the app to allow all users access to view stored footage. (NOT a issue if your a solo user)
As with it being motion activated this is also Hit or Miss at times. A delay in activation for recording means missing some of the footage No option for continuous motion recording untill motion stops like some other brands.
Where this has some good positives there are some features missing or lacking. It’s worth noting this isn’t a 24/7 recording DVR set up.
Purchase both Cams and doorbell and both returned. Wasnt fit for my requirments Sadly.
Camera very easy to install. Good night vision quality. Solar panel works well and was also very easy to install. App is easy to use, simple yet functional. I bought a second one as it was perfect value for the price
Arrived on time. Easy to install. Setting up was a bit more difficult for me as a 75 year old but I got there in the end. Overall, it’s worth the money but, in hindsight, I wish I’d bought it with the solar polar. This would save me climbing the ladder when the battery needs charging.
I found the camera I bought did not work as I expected, due to being disabled I had the camera a long time before fitting so didn’t really qualify for replacement.
IeGeek support department worked with me to identify the problem, and have now informed me they have sent me a replacement that their support team identified would meet my needs.
I have to say in our modern post Covid world IeGeek’s commitment to solve customer problems exceeds expectations and has to make them one of the top companies to deal with. I have used IeGeek camera’s for about 8 years.
Camera arrived on time from Amazon. This is the second of these cameras I have installed. I’m very happy with the purchases The camera is very easy to connect to my broadband and install. The motion detection works perfectly day and night, and the app makes it easy to receive alerts and view footage while I’m in work. There is also a siren and strobe lighting feature that wasn’t on my previous camera.
Bought two of these to view front door and side patio. Quite easy to set-up and add to ieGeek app running on Android. A lot of options to get your head around once set-up, but with some trial and error I think I have come up with a set of workable options.
Although I used the solar panels for initial charge I have not set these up permanently as I wanted to see what sort of battery life the cameras had. I’ve had a relatively small number of alerts (e.g. me walking out of front door at night and forgetting to turn off motion detection beforehand!), battery is now down to 48% after 5 weeks.
Initial responses from Customer Support were poor in respect of an issue I had getting Cloud backup set-up but they eventually came back and thereafter responses have been pretty fast and helpful.
EDIT: Have had several emails from ieGeek support since writing the above – full explanation of cloud service setup provided and a load of useful hints re battery consumption. Have now ordered two more of the same camera!
Really good camera. Brilliant picture quality and super easy to install.
The ieGeek is really easy to install. No wires to run inside the house, just three small holes to drill to fit the base to the wall. The camera then screws onto a ball joint that enables you to set it at a multitude of angles.
N.B. initially I had the camera covering the front drive and the road/footpath… but every time someone walked past it would trigger the camera and that made the battery run down pretty quickly. To charge it you have to unscrew the camera and plug it in to a charger, which is a pain, as the battery can’t be removed.
So, you have to set the camera to just cover your property, so it’s only triggered by the postie or family members… otherwise you’ll be charging the battery every week or two.
Apart from that the camera is sound, with pretty decent picture quality. You can set it to primarily detect human shapes, rather than vehicles (very clever.) It can be set to record in various time lengths, there is a security light that can be set to turn on at night when motion is detected. It can record in colour at night, it has a siren and a speaker so you can warn people from your phone (via the app) when they come onto your property!
Highly recommended!
Quick fix at low cost. Don’t get me wrong they aren’t as good as a wired system but ideal for a budget or remote install
Very easy to install and set up lots of different features to customise what you require from this camera I’ve definitely slept peacefully since I’ve purchased these and for the price I cannot fault the quality super friendly and efficient customer services should any problems arise I would and have recommended this product to anyone who is interested in installing an extra layer of security around the home
I’ve a couple of these, but in retrospect I should have bought the version with the solar panels because the batteries seem to have a short life before needing a recharge. I’ve got smaller cheaper cameras that last longer before needing recharge.
Simple to setup.
Working well, I’ve setup in my garden which is what I bought them for. Easy interface on the phone app and some clever tools to use e.g. Setting off a siren on the camera remotely or talking through the camera if required.
These little cameras are excellent as security cameras mounted on the outside of your house, but be aware of the possible snags. The cameras seem to be sold by a variety of Chinese manufacturers and when my first camera stopped working (it kept making a “cuckoo” sound no matter what I did to it) the warranty had expired so I threw it away, and I don’t think the vendor was still in business. The pros: long battery life, quite easy to install and configure provided you follow the instructions and connect it to a 2.5g network rather than a 5g network. I monitor the cameras from my iPhone and iPad – you can’t currently monitor from a computer though there is said to be a complicated workaround to let you do so. The cons: take great care inserting your SD card because sometimes it just drops into the camera, where you can’t rescue it, and you have to buy another SD card. It doesn’t always record an approaching person unless you configure it carefully – you might see a recording of the back of a person’s head at your front door but to see them approaching you might do as I did and install another camera further from the door as well. Recordings are made on the SD card with an option to subscribe to a Cloud service. You can subscribe for a month at a time or a year, and the disadvantage of subscribing for a long period is that if the camera fails, you can’t yourself transfer the cloud subscription to one of your other cameras. Fortunately the seller was kind enough to arrange to transfer the subscription when I asked, but said they don’t normally do this. I suppose the other shortcoming is the need to climb a ladder and unscrew the camera and take it inside when it requires recharging (after about 3 months), and the recharging takes a long time, maybe 8 hours. If you mount it within easy reach, thieves might take it. You can monitor the cameras remotely through your smartphone and, for instance, see if Amazon have left a package on your front step that you need to go home to rescue. Very glad to have these cameras, which I hope will deter burglars as they have done so far.
Looking for a suitable camera because of cars in our road being frequently vandalised, we came across these cameras. Our first one came quickly, and clearly was a solid, well built device despite the lower price. We put it up on the front of the house, and because the pavement is only 5m away, it can pick up everything clearly that happens outside the house. The app is very good, easy to check up on what is happening when away from home with the touch of a button. It even comes with an intercom, so you can warn people who are acting suspiciously.
Very impressed with the first camera, so with the price in mind, we ordered another for the back of the house. Double security to give double piece of mind. Very good cameras, would recommend.
I’ve had mixed experiences with security cameras. But my wife wanted more security around the house. This was easy to install. The UI was a bit difficult to work out initially but no serious problems. Now up and running it is by far the best one that I have. I have even installed another inside with no issues. Great picture. Fast loading times. Good night picture. Solid battery life. I would recommend to all.
Bought this camera to mount on the outside of our static caravan. It works well, nice clear picture. If any fault at all (and its minor) I would have liked to narrow the view down a bit. We would have like to keep the field of vision purely on our balcony and gate but this shows quite a bit of our neighbor’s van as well, luckily she’s good with that. Been installed now for a couple of weeks, no faults or false alarms. Well worth the money.
Purchased November 2020 and worked perfectly with good performance. Stored securely until April 2022 when able to take abroad after covid.
I have 20 igeek cameras in different properties and have always found them exceptional. Unfortunately this one failed to meet expectations.
On unpacking I ensured full charge which charge light confirmed. After that it wouldn’t switch on or reset. Tried many times and gave up.
I wonder if there is an issue with rechargeable battery.
I have been refunded under the warranty and have now been advised that long storage will affect battery life. If that is true the company should try and improve battery performance as I do not have problems with rechargeable batteries used in other equipment.
Bought this camera to replace a more expensive Swann camera which had failed. This camera is a fraction of the cost of the Swann wired camera, however, it is every bit as good in terms of build quality, picture quality and features, including being wireless, much easier and quicker to install. I wish I had bought 4 of these cameras before I spent 500 on a Swann camera kit. Will be buying more as and when the Swann camera`s fail.
The battery didn’t last a year
Update:
I have bought two cameras one of them is still working perfectly but the other one had an issue with battery so after I posted my review.
I have been contacted by the supplier and the issue was investigated with no luck so they have managed a refund for the product. I am really happy to change my rating because with such a supplier am happy to buy agai
I was initially extremely impressed with this camera, easy to fit and clear, crisp picture. Unfortunately after less than a year it just died. We tried re-setting, re-charging, re-fitting, re-everything we could think of but to no avail. I wrote to ieGeek asking for help their customer service was excellent. First they offered some solutions that we could try at home (didn’t work though) before providing a full refund plus an Amazon gift card for the upset. Thank you James Tai, your help is very much appreciated. Like I said, this is a very nice little camera and I think that I was just very unlucky to have received a ‘duff’ one.
Dont bother worked for the first few weeks now its gone crazy battery lasts about a day on a full charge not picking up people going past it, you just see their back when leaving says offline most of the time or dormancy.
After sales service sucks so now I’m left with a camera that doesn’t do its job.
Updated review
Having been in touch with igeek customer services they sent me a new camera which I was delighted to receive.
All seems to be working great so very happy with customer services and camera will let you know how it performs in the next few weeks A+ so far.
You get what you pay for .. After an attempted break in at my property, I decided it was time to invest in some home security. I browsed online for CCTV systems and was not keen on spending a small fortune so I came across this Igeek camera and decided to purchase 2 of them, one for the front of the house and one for the rear garden. It started off very well and I was pleased with the motion detection and picture quality ( I should also mention these cameras are NOT for areas with high/ moderate activity, they are more suitable for gardens and small alleys where there is little movement etc as the camera at the front of the house required a charge once a month – I do not live on a busy main road but there are the occasional cars and pedestrians walking by). One day a neighbour knocked on our door as their car had been hit right outside our house. Only when we checked the app did we notice the cameras had not been recording anything. Both front and rear stopped recording and the pre recorded videos became inaccessible. We have tried EVERYTHING, moving them to a place where they have max WiFi signal, resetting them, updating software, re formatting. We reached out to customer service who advised us to update the software and reset the cameras, they suggested a few other things but nothing worked. They have now stopped responding to our emails as they can’t suggest anything else and we are left with 2 cameras which are useless.
If you’re serious about home security and CCTV, I would suggest you invest a bit more money and purchase A wired system which records onto a hard drive
UPDATE April 2022
After reaching out to IE Geek again. They have offered me a full refund for both cameras. Not the best product but great customer service !
This is the third Igeek camera I have purchased, all of the battery wireless type. two I have given away as presents, and I will buy more of them for myself. For the cost, ease of setup and quality, I don’t think they can be beaten. The battery duration is great and they are easily charged by USB. One of the cameras I set up outside for a friend and connected via the solar panel, this has worked brilliantly with no need to take down to charge. I fitted one in a caravan and for the time not in use the battery lasted seemingly forever. Obviously the more busy it gets the battery will drain more quickly. No need to pay cloud subscription costs as in some cameras as this will record to your mobile device or the micro SD card purchased separately. In the house I leave it freestanding and can check my home wherever I am. With the detection enabled it will send messages to your mobile device as a warning. Very handy when you are out and worried about security. As mentioned I will buy more of these devices and it gets a full endorsement from me.
