I’m very pleased with this purchase. The backpack is of great quality and has the perfect size for an all-day trip.
I love this backpack. It’s great quality and has loads of different compartments for storage and organising the contents. The materials and construction of the backpack are top notch. The straps are adjustable and there are additional straps for securing the bag around the torso to reduce sway, improve comfort and make the bag more secure. There is a good amount of padding for on the back as well. Excellent backpack.
I didn’t realise how wrong hiking backpacks could be until I started searching for one! Most don’t have deep enough water bottle pouches or enough pockets, or nowhere to secure walking poles, or non-breathable backs so you sweat a lot… Well this 20L backpack seems to have it all and ticks all the boxes, hurrah! Perfect size for day hikes with loads of space inside and lots of pockets to keep your belongings tidy and handy. The double water bottle pouches are nice and deep so bottles don’t fall out, and there are walking pole hooks and cinch fastenings on the back. There’s a great little chest strap as well as a padded hip strap, which includes more pockets – one grumble is that I wish these were nearer the front of the body and a tad bigger so they could fit a mobile phone, as they’re hard to reach around the back. Another minor niggle is the bottom of the bag seems quite thin and should be reinforced with another (waterproof) layer – there’s no support at the bottom and all your items will just sag, and I’m concerned sharp items might end up poking holes in the material. I’ve fashioned a base myself out of cardboard wrapped in plastic, which gives the bag a more solid, waterproof base. Other that that, it’s a lovely bag at a bargain price – the blue with orange detailing looks fab too. Looking forward to many days on the fells with my new bag!
Perfect size backpack. It’s lite and comfy, holds all your stuff with plenty of pockets. Side pockets can hold a 1ltr water bottle
The capacity of 20 liters is just right for a day of hiking or daily use. The design of the backpack is good. The big-name products are very professional, and the color is also stain-resistant. There is a foam board on the back.
It can hold a computer, a water bag, a pouch on the outside, and an outer pocket for clothes. The side pockets are deep, so you don’t have to worry about the water glass falling out.
Capacity size: 20
Size: Moderate
Style Type: Casual Sports
Waterproof grade: water repelle
Love this backpack! Stylish and very handy.
This lakeland backpack feels well made and resistant.
It has a great size and good carrying capacity.
Its outside liner is water resistant and well stitched.
I like the discreet combination of colours, two tones of blue and orange.
In the outside there are two pockets with zip, a large and a smaller one.
There is also plenty of compartments inside.
Has a padded hip bag with dual zipped pockets, ideal to keep belongings within immediate reach.
The back panel and the straps are well padded, quite comfortable to use.
This bag is lightweight, sturdy and long lasting, recommended!
Can I give this product 10 star?
Very very useful bagpack. Happy with purchase. Product as described and can be used for multiple purposes. Light weight bag and highly recommended.
This backpack is comfortable and has plenty of room. The only disadvantage is that there are so many pockets i forget where i have put stuff. The padded straps are really comfy too.
Holds everything I need for a days walk, is comfortable to wear and has lots of useful pockets … as long as you can remember what you’ve put in each one! 🙂 … highly recommend
I’ve always thought of 20l backpacks in the range of “portable.” This one has extremely comfortable padding, strong zips and immaculate stitching. Really amazing value at this price poi
As a dad to an almost two year old and a newborn baby I have had a bag on my back for as long as I can remember now but I have never likes the proper changing bags. This is perfect for me as it will comfortably carry everything I need and is far lighter than a changing bag. It is well made with great zips and seems to be far more water resistant than I expected. I am really happy with this bag and use it every single day.
You need a decent rucksack for a bounce round town or for when you are just leaving the tent for a couple of hours to go for a mooch in the falls. This little pack is ideal, it is well made – the build quality all over is very good, it looks great and it has pockets and pouches that are accessible easily and the straps and zips are great.
For such a little bag some real care has gone into making this. A lovely little pouch for a mini bounce! Yup that’s my slogan for it and I’m gonna stick to my guns! Lakeland has been impressing me with the quality of their items whenever I have tried one and this is by far no exception.
This backpack has replaced my long suffering previous backpack and is a very worthy replacement.
The features all speak for themselves as described by the seller. The finish is to a high quality and the consideration into its design really is exemplary.
The pricing initially seems high but at 40 (currently) this is a reasonable investment in something likely to last for a considerable time.
Will update with longevity review.
I rarely wear a backpack. Mainly for hikes on holiday etc but I put this on to walk to the shops instead of a tote bag and was pleasantly surprised!
It really hugs you so when you have heavy items such as shopping or water it really feels nice and secure on your back.
It has several pockets so you can pack it to the max!
The quality of the fabric seems really nice too. I think you just get what you pay for with this. It needs to be durable to fit it’s purpose!
Product replaces 11 year old day pack. The new pack is comfortable practical and secure
I’m very impressed with the overall build quality and features on this lakeland Active fellside 20l Backpack.
It’s the perfect backpack for day hikes , plenty of room in the spacious main compartment for you packed lunch and hiking accessories.
The zippers are really smooth and good quality, I find the straps nicely padded too , comfortable to wear on a long hike.
I’m a big fan of the colour combination on this pack the black and yellow colour works really well , it’s a smart looking pack.
You also have features to add stuff to the outside of the pack , trekking poles and other equipment there are mesh storage pockets for drinks bottles so you can get to your drinks quickly on the move.
This pack would also make a great urban backpack for travelling to work , you can store your laptop and other equipment in this pack, there’s enough storage pockets to keep things separate and stored safely and tidy.
Personally I think it makes an excellent hiking backpack, its rugged and built for the outdoors, it’s really well made.
The back of the pack has good air flow and ventilation to help stop sweating on long hikes , I think it’s a great pack well worth the money.
othing to dislike and for everyday use gym and shopping
Lakeland Active Fellside 20L Backpack
The bag on its own is lightweight. It is well-made, and the zippers glide effortlessly. It is functional as it has plenty of pockets and compartments to organize stuff.
I used it when I went hiking, camping, and cycling in the Lake, and it didn’t fail me. The straps are easy to adjust and fit snugly, giving me the freedom to move conveniently while carrying my essentials.
Overall, I have no reasons to knock off a star. Recommendable.
The backpack does seem very well made with a range of pouches plus one I don’t see the point for (on the front of the bag at the bottom perhaps for a waterproof cover).
The waist belt is rather narrow (under 25mm wide) with a equally small pinch clip and I would have expected something wider to spread the load.
Otherwise I like it a lot.
Took this on a combined walk and non league football away day yesterday. It’s so comfy to wear! Wasn’t carrying a lot so I tucked the waist straps in to the side pouches, these then rested on my waistline so didn’t get in the way. I walked 9 miles and wore whilst standing at the football for 2 hours. I like the top pocket as it’s quite deep, when you open it your things don’t fall out. The main section will be large enough for a couple of days away especially with the chest and waist straps which other small rucksacks don’t have. I travel light and want to get back to walking and using the youth hotels in the Lakes, Peak district and Dales.
Wonderful pack pack, can fit everything you need in it and more, and it’s very comfortable, can highly recommend.
I have put this backpack into use already.
It is a good size and the divisions are great.
The colour is lovely – better than black but not too garish.
I am very pleased with this product.
firstly – this is an ideal replacement for the shabby/scabby, slightly rank and worn, previous model, and will be put to good use (when the weather/covid situation improves) on days out to interesting and beautiful Scottish locations. easily contains our needs for a trip, even the laptop should we choose to bring it – many handy compartments, loops (icepick not likely!) and pockets, red tags on the zips for easy location, all very ergonomically designed and executed, and in an attractive shade of blue.
secondly – and most importantly for me, as i suffer from lower back pain, is the supreme comfort felt when wearing it (loaded with books and laptop to trial this), the sternum strap balancing the load in an even fashion. as a further bonus, the back panel is designed to keep back sweat to a minimum level preventing that damp uncomfortable sensation. to me that is worth much more than the very reasonable asking price! sturdy and robust, yet light, i can see this pack being the ‘go to’ for a significant number of years! look for me at the top of the munros – (actually, don’t, but i might be round and about at the bottom!)
This is a great rucksack. It has lots of pockets and zips, and it is made of good materials. There is a waist and a chest strap, and the straps are all padded for comfort. It looks like it can handle tough treatment and should hopefully last a long time. Very comfy to use.
This 20L Lakeland Active Fellside rucksack Is nicely designed and has a modern look that is attractive yet understated, which I am a fan of. With its padded rear panel, it feels sturdy and it retains the structure and shape of the bag overall. There are enough pockets for my needs and the zips are crisp and reliable and offered strong resistance to persistent, heavy rain during a hike in the Peak District.
It’s comfortable throughout the day and the straps offer good support and adjustability. It feels well anchored and about as forgiving on the lower back as it can be over a long day out over varying terrain.
For me, it’s ideal for a solid day of walking and hiking as it’s comfortable and has performed well enough against the elements to have earned my trust. Well worth a purchase and I’m happy to recommend it.
–oThis is a true walker’s backpack and one that will really do everything that you need.
The rear of this pack has a layer that keeps the bag and your back apart and ensures the bag doesn’t get wet from your skin. Also the layer ensures that the bag only keeps in contact with narrow lines of your back and the straps are wicking as well as the side straps too. Bot side straps also have a zip up pocket in. A strap fastens across your body to help keep this bag in place also. At either side of the bag there is a stretch pocket for a drinking bottle. There is orange piping at various points about the bag which will make the navy bag visible in the right light.
There are a couple of zip pockets on the front and a single one running along the top, but the huge pocket running along the full height has lots of room and also another almost as big on front of that.
This is a great bag, versatile and flexible whilst also being lightweight. Frankly, this is probably the best walking bag that I have seen for a long time and is ideal for my up and coming three peaks walk.
A good value and great quality bag!!!
A good pack, well made with the usual features. I like the fact this is designed in the UK by people who know their kit.
Lakeland Active 20ltr Rucksack.
So impressed with this little backpack it’s very well made from heavy-duty nylon (Oxford cloth) so it’s not a lightweight option but it has seven easily accessible pockets to store your keys, phone, map and other essentials. The spacious main compartment includes a 16 inch laptop sleeve
And it’s been extremely Comfortable to wear due to the nice thick foam padding.
All straps are adjustable for comfort and bag also features 2 elasticated mesh bottle pockets and 2 shock cord loops for ice axe or walking poles.
It’s also a great looking bag would have said it cost more than 40.
