Bought for live monitoring of Keys and Geetar for my wee (ever expanding) “Home” Studio and my DAW. Highly recommend . Amp gives clean , useable signal and is very useful as a Monito
It’s super loud. It’s great to control the effects on individual channels. I like it a lot. The dials to change the levels seem a bit shit quality. The buttons/dials are a bit cheapo. Otherwise I’m happy with it. After using it for my piano practice for 5 minutes the neighbours upstairs complained when I had it on like 5% volume hahaha. That tells you it’s loud enough 😀
I think this would be good for a small band of a few people who haven’t invested in a PA and mixer yet. Like for example a piano and a couple of vocals or something. Could be good for band practice when you can’t be bothered to set up a big PA system. Could be ok for small gigs. I was thinking of using it for practice at home and then as a monitor if I have a chance to gig with others.
Decent at a fair price. One of the only amps I’ve seen where you can control the effects on individual channels which is great if you want instrument and vocals (wet/dry sound combinations)
I bought this amp for my digital piano. I’ve bought a few amps recently, had to return all of them because when playing the lower octaves, the amp couldn’t handle the bass at all. This amp is the first one that can harness the powerful bass sounds. No rattle what so ever. I played some music through spotify to try output, and a quarter turn on the volume rattles the house! It’s amazing. Recommend.
I needed a small amp for using my keyboards in the house and this does the job perfectly. Very robust and smartly finished, it takes up very little room and tucks neatly under my keyboard bench. The amp can stand upright or be tilted back like a monitor speaker. It is designed more for home practice or small venue performances with a graphic EQ and level controls and ir has plenty of Oomph if needed. My expectaions have been well exceeded for the price I paid, so if you want a more instrument specific amp with top quality sound and more whistles and bells, then you will need to spend a whole lot more than this.
Bought this so my Son could connect it to his electric drums. Instead he connects his phone to it and blasts his music off! SMH! All in all brilliant purchase and he loves it!
This amp punches above it weight – literally! Not too heavy to move around and with a good set of features and very good sound quality, with plenty of bass. Bought to use live with an aerophone and all the sounds come over very well – from tuba to piccolo. Also works very well with a NORD stage piano. Delighted.
Wonderful sound, powefull wide range of frequencies.
I bought it for my son’s Behringer XD80USB, he is happy. It is solid built and you can feel it is extremly a good peace.
These are first impressions. I hope it will do good job and I’ll not revisit this review.
Having recently gigged with this I feel strongly inclined to offer a review.
It is an absolute work horse.
I play individually and as part of a two piece band. Bare in mind I work in experimental melodic noise, and the band is post industrial spook-art/noise, so the stability and fidelity of sound from this amp was truly tested.
We had mic with fx one channel, fretless bass another, laptop input, fx laden guitar on another and electronics through another. We ran a 300w speaker from it… There was complete and balanced sound, totally even stereo and didn’t need to raise master volume above a quarter for a large gallery sized space.
It really is a beautiful piece of kit. Solid. Well made. Easy use. Seriously excellent amp that would work for any gigging musician regardless of genre.
(ps, yes I did turn it up full in rehearsal… It is LOUD and honest.)
Have now had this unit for around 12 months and it has had some serious usage. Where it comes into its own is its flexibility with the ability to mix a number of inputs from various vocal/instrument sources which is ideal for practice, open mic etc. We currently use it for practice running 3 separate microphones through it for vocals with the ability to control volume and add reverb individually. It is also plenty loud enough to compete with our very loud drummer. It can also be used in a live environment as a stage monitor which is a real bonus. The only downside of this unit is the XLR connection which seems to generate a serious amount of feedback, but once you run mics on a 6.5 connection this is eliminated and it runs very clean. For flexibility and vales for money I would highly recommend.
Prefect for a home music room with multiple instruments. I have a drum kit, bass guitar and mic going through this and it’s perfect for the home practice environment. Sturdy product, plenty loud enough and great sound quality.
I’m very happy with this. I use it mainly with a Yamaha keyboard, and an electro-acoustic nylon-string guitar, sometimes for recording via line-level to a Focusrite 2i2 interface. It’s clean, predictable, and straightforward to use. I’m confident it’s many other uses, like a small gig, or as a monitor. (I’ve tried it with effect-laden harmonica, but that needs some more exploration.) Very reasonably priced.
Really good home drum monitor. I bought it based on customer reviews and I am glad I did. I replaced from a Stagg monitor which broke down after a few years. You can connect iPods/iPhones for music to play along side while practicing. The equalisers are quite sensitive and I would not mess around with them much as the sound distorted on higher volume. Volume is fantastic and I could not even put it to half way as it was really loud for a room. I had the my drum kit volume at full and the channel volume at 75% and the master volume at 35% and even then it sounds fantastic and clear. There is a quite hum when its just switched on idle but you soon don’t notice it. The built quality is above average but the knobs are on a bit flimsy side. Overall very happy with the product and packaging.
Brilliant unit. Have used this mainly with an Yamaha P90 stage piano and an AKG gooseneck mike fitted to a resonator guitar. Better piano sound than the Yamaha Stagepas. Highly recommended. You could pay twice as much for something half as good.
Very good clean sound allowing it to be used as an ideal platform for guitar fx pedals.
Kickback design is really good as it fires the sound right in your face, which is fantastic! (Stage monitor style).
Speaker is 10ich bass / mid range driver and a high frequency horn for vocals and keyboard sounds.
Delay fx built in can be turned on/on for each input individually and has plenty of control parameters.
Bought it for my sons birthday and he’s really enjoying it, works for vocals / keyboard / guitar or bass as well as having an aux input to jam along to mp3 etc.
There’s plenty of volume to play with, 1/4 volume makes the house sound like someone’s having a concert, so there should be plenty of volume to go out and gig with.
The kickproof grill really does work, I was sent one that DPD damaged in transit. The box looked like it had been hit with a battering ram, the grill was bent in but it still didn’t get within an inch of the speaker (I was sent a new one 2 days later).
I like this much more than my Roland Cube and that’s a really good guitar amp.
ottimo rapporto qualit/prezzo..funziona bene e senza problemi dopo qualche settimana dall’acquisto. suono pulito, rende bene in un ambiente medio/grande. soddisfatto
I purchased this item to use with an electronic drum kit purely for home practice and it does the job brilliantly.
The item arrived two days before the expected delivery date so that was a big plus straight away.
The cabinet is solid and finished in carpet and a metal grill as with many other monitors and the build quality was what you would expect from Laney. It is robust and could easily be transported from gig to gig if you needed to, (although this was bought as a practice amp). The controls are fairly sturdy but being used to Marshalls for my guitars, they do seem less robust, however, I do not envisage them causing any issues.
The sound is clear and well balanced and can be adjusted using the small equaliser on the front panel. It has more than enough power to use at home, I doubt that this will ever get above 4 but I would prefer to have something in reserve rather than crank a less powerful amp to the max. I also picked this model in order that I had the flexibility for other uses, for example, as an instrument monitor, vocal monitor or bass amp, a task which it does pretty well although I wouldn’t use it as a guitar amp, except perhaps for an acoustic/electric acoustic.. You can plug an external music source into it for jamming along to which is useful. There is also a headphone socket also a headphone socket should you need it. It is very versatile.
There are cheaper models available, but for the quality of a named brand, I would always prefer to spend that little extra as it pays dividends in the long run. This amp is great value for money.
Trs bon ampli pour ma guitare manouche avec un micro shure MS57 .Nombreuses possibilits de connection : coute d’un CD , micro guitare et chant si dou ! A recommander.
I first ordered this item and something was wrong with the speaker. Almost sounded like a tear. Amazon made it easy to return at not cost, sent another out quickly and it works perfect. Love the sound and capability for the money.
I’m gigging with two keyboards and has the ability to add more. Kettle lead can be unplugged so won’t get in the way on carrying. Had an old Laney amp previously, but this is so much lighter with side handles. Plenty of power and very adjustable for sound quality.
Having previously had a (lower powered 30 w) laney bass amp , I know their quality. But I needed around 100 wt + to keep up with a new LOUD band. Tried out many bass amps (marshall, ashdown , line 6 , peavey, etc). . Finally set my sight on a laney rb4 or 5. . Then saw this on laney site. Same dimensions , weight, output as the rb 5 with the added bonus of extra inputs and man has that come in handy several times. If you research the manual channel 2 has a bass guitar suggested as the input. There’s also aline out and ext cab jacks on the back. Now I can put a little 5w vox lined though when switching to 6 string. Backing vocals through, when the pa line in rehearsal room is full / too far for leads / blocked by pedals, amps , cases , drums, fans, drugs,, alcohol bottles, groupies … ok I’m kidding but you get the idea. . yes it is loud enough to keep up with drummer, 2 loud (valve amp)guitarists . Both of whom are in awe of this handy little PA in a box , that punches waaaaAAAaay above Iit’s weight. Tempted to get another incase anything happens to this one.
I got this amp for christmas and it’s great. The sound production is very high quality due to the 12 inch driver and the tweeter, It has plenty of inputs for all your needs, and for such a powerful amp it’s surprisingly compact. One brief thing to mention, this is a big amp so for those looking for an amp for small venues, this one’s a little too powerful
Great product, well built, good sound quality, and very versatile. Last weekend used it in a small hall as a standard keyboard amp, good response across all frequencies. This week using it as a feedback monitor for bass guitar. That balanced output is a very welcome addition, not commonly found on amps this size/price. All in all I’m very pleased with this purchase, a great small all round piece of kit.
I bought this to use with my Roland drum kit on stage. The sound is excellent with good control of the bass and treble covering the whole range of drum sounds. Also plenty of power from the 300w Well finished and constructed amp
Laney Audio AH40 Perfect or small Venue or Practice. Also Good For Karaoke at Home Connected To Your Smart TV Via an Optical to Analogue Adapter.
Bought for live monitoring of Keys and Geetar for my wee (ever expanding) “Home” Studio and my DAW. Highly recommend . Amp gives clean , useable signal and is very useful as a Monito
Great product I can connect all my instruments to it great sound would have liked a reverb switch
It’s super loud. It’s great to control the effects on individual channels. I like it a lot. The dials to change the levels seem a bit shit quality. The buttons/dials are a bit cheapo. Ideal product for home use. handles a combination of keyboard, guitar and microphone very nicely.
Great stuff great sound right now I’m using it with my keyboards wonderful stuff

This things great I use it for beatbox for which it’s really useful.
Great product for running a few things thru it inc Bass.
On account not as good sound as a straight guitar amp but that’s not what I wAnted it for.
Extremely happy with the sound. Good quality item for a reasonable price too. Thanks!
Good value for money but graphic equaliser not as responsive as some. However I would buy it again if I needed to.good valuez
I very much like the amp re size ,but there is no reverb or changes possible and i would have thought there would be something more.

Buena relacin calidad precio. Equaliza bien. Hasta ahora usado solo con micrfono.
I am no expert but this amp does everything we need. Multiple inputs allows us two guitars and a keyboard co jack in.
Bought this for our kid to play his bass through. I also play electric drums though it too. Makes a great sound with both. Well recommended.
It can take on anything you throw at it, and still sound’s great, compact and light weight, Laney always a good name to have.
Bought this so my Son could connect it to his electric drums. Instead he connects his phone to it and blasts his music off! SMH! All in all brilliant purchase and he loves it!
Technically good , multi instrument and mic .
Odd shape to transpo

As expected. Use it for a Roland drum kit monitor. Plenty loud enough for Home plus room to spare. Struggles a little if I need to use it live though.
Muchas gracias, estoy muy satisfecha con el producto, el amplificador es de buena calidad y suena genial. Lleg antes de tiempo y en perfecto estado.
Great sound, not too heavy a great little all rounder!
Sounds great with my daugheter’s Roland Electric Drums kit – good reproduction, decent amount of bass, recommended.
Wonderful sound, powefull wide range of frequencies.
