Worked perfectly. Highly recommended. I have annoyed myself by missing 1 stripe on my lawn so will need to use again in a month or so. Says you must wait 3 months between applications. Killed dandelions, daisies, clover…… Some dark patches left on the lawn but says this is normal and the grass will come back within the 3 months. Will definitely use this again!

I have a persistent moss problem so this goes down mostly every year.
I do use a spreader on wheels however I’m not exact with the distribution! I’ve never burnt/destroyed my grass (any blackening of the lawn is temporary). My lawn as we speak is a lush thick green and growing really fast.
The moss I raked out after two weeks with a scarifyer.
The odd dandelion that appeared (I didn’t use this last year I used a organic feed and it introduced weeds) are now gone.
I’ve used this for a decade and it’s never ruined my lawn. Remember to water in if no rain.

This is amazing. My grass in picture 2 was full of weeds and poor grass, after 3 weeks it’s greener than ever and no weeds, see picture 1. I can recommend this 4in1 as it’s made a world of different to my garden. Be sure to use a hand or pull machine to spread the 4in1 as too much or too little can make all the difference. Do it right and it works fantastic so be sure to read the instructions.
I used a scotts rotary spreader with correct settings and this stuff worked beautifully! Kills weeds well and gives your grass a good boost also. Aready

love it and now buy these re-fill bags and fill my original purchase with the spreader 100% does what it says. My gardens were for some strange reason full of dandelions this year(as is my neighbours too!)it recommends use twice a year I use it 3 times this said the problem has definitely been eradicated. I know nothing about lawn care. I am a total noob and not ashamed to admit it. I nearly obliterated my lawn by liberally applying this. The manly act of spreading fertilizer overwhelmed my sense of judgement, and I didn’t bother to work out how much to spread per square metre. “MORE IS BETTER” I cackled, as I tipped Kg after Kg onto my tiny patch of grass – and what should be a mundane chore somehow turned into a fever-dream of brash, gung-ho stupidity.
Setting all that aside, this stuff works really well. It will kill the moss within 6 hours and you’ll get black patches showing up – which is great for seeing where to rake it out. I would however suggest you try raking out the moss first – THEN use this stuff. Plenty of water is required, I’m convinced this fertilizer dries out the ground a wee bit, but it’s produced some fine and dandy results in the end. [tl;dr takeaway = a little goes a long way].
Garden was left to grow wild by previous owner of the house which left the lawn full of weeds.
Spread on the grass on a Thursday, watered it all on Friday and by Saturday I can already see the weed and moss turning black.
Be prepared though if you do have large patches of weed like I do you’ll end up having to take it all out, aerate the soil and then sow new grass seed as once the weeds are dead they’ll leave bare soil behind.

Does the job if u follow instructions just don’t add to much as strong tac weeds black within 48 hrs and notice a different with grass after 3 days deffo greener it has now been over a week and my garden looks like a show garden just do not add to much
Used as treatment on reat garden lawn, easy to apply, most impressed with results, thick lawn and very few weeds, but the heavy rain may well have helped. Timing of application is most important, either April/May or late September. Will buy again and treat the lawn in late Septembe
It worked for me. Surprisingly killed off all weeds, Including moss and dandelions. I raked up the moss after 2/3 weeks after the first application. On the second application, I concentrated around the dandelions a bit heavier. So pleased with results. I have nice green grass, weed free. Waiting for better weather to get mowing, and fill in bare areas where moss was.
Great product – have used it several times before. However, it has taken a very long time to arrive (over a month). No packaging or protection. It was delivered by Hermes this morning, who obviously did not ring the doorbell and just put a card through the door . and legged it as there was a large puncture to the bag with the contents spilling out everywhere. The delivery driver obviously did not want to risk me rejecting the item. Overall disappointing. Given the amount of the contents that has been lost I’ll be asking for a replacement. Next time I’ll buy from the local garden centre even if it’s a few quid more expensive.
Most of the moss went black within a week, as did the weeds, however some moss did survive and I’m tempted to add a small amount in the area albeit the advice it to use once every 3 months. Possible this was down to conservative amounts being used for fear of burning the grass..can add but can’t take away and all that 🙂
This works really well, the hardest part is putting it down, too much and the area turns black too little and weeds thrive. It must not get on borders as plants will die, put down on a calm day, worth watering to dampen down to prevent it blowing in areas you don’t want it. Shame there isn’t an easy way to sprinkle on lawn, it needs an attachment to add to the bag, like a sprinkler head.
It’s good stuff grass looks a lot better and quite a few weeds have gone would recommend
he product was not parcelled very well big whole in the bag caused I think by the parcel tape stuck directly on the product ,cannot send back too hard to repack but I lost a portion of the product, meaning it was expensive for the amount I received
OK if you use a spreader. I had attempted spreading by hand in the past with very patchy results (literally).
Patience required if you kill and remove a lot of moss since it will take a few weeks or more to recover your lawn including re seeding bare areas.
Thought I would the garden grass a new look with this product.

I’ve used Miracle-Gro Evergreen Complete Lawn Food for years now and have always found it very effective. The only thing to equal it IMHO is Miracle-Gro Evergreen Lawn Food which doesn’t have the moss and weed killer in it. It made my lawn emerald green but as my lawn is prone to moss (and weeds from nearby less fastidious gardeners). Therefore I use the former early and late in the season and the latter for a couple of booster green-ups.
Basically to kill off the moss in my lawn,which it does well
and quickly as well.
If you want lush, think, deep green grass this is the product. Please note read the instructions carefully if too much product is used you will burn the lawn. If used in the hight of Summer results will be poor. For best result use after lawn has been mowed on a week it’s going to rain a lot. You will see a difference in 7 days. Stick to these rules and you can’t go wrong I’ve been using this product for years now. See attached picture I away get asked is that real grass.
My lawn was looking a bit tired due to the dry weather and weeds. Picked a day to use the fertiliser when it was forecasted to rain. Couple of weeks later, the grass has gone much greener than it been for months. Will use the left over on the lawn this week end.
Works well but it’s easy to miss patches. I use a spout on an old container to spread this but it might be easier and spread more evenly if doing it by hand.
It certainly made the grass thicker and killed off some of the moss and weeds.
Does what it says on the tin, just remember to use a spreader and read the instructions and you can’t go wrong.
I’ve just thrown it on before and I can tell you it makes your grass go black. So if that happens you have done something wrong.
Does what it is meant to, had lots of weeds growing in the grass, it’s definitely got rid of them, however, be careful about the way in which you spread it, too much product does kill also the grass. It left the grass patchy and burnt looking, more to do with the application than the product, have reseeded those patched areas. It does what it’s meant to do.
Works well. Easy to spread using the nozzle attached. Blackens and Kills weeds fairly quickly and makes the grass look better.
Incredible product. I have been using it for tears. Whenever our lawn needs some TLC this is what I do to it. Put a glove on and by hand I distribute the granulate evenly over the zones that need more attention.
The treated zone causes the grass to grow quicker and stronger. It’s colour also changes to a more dark greener tint.
The latest delivery was done by Hermes which treated the box very badly so some of the product leaked during the trip which wasn’t great at all. It’s a pity that I couldn’t leave feedback about their delivery.
As expected, it will turn the grass greener but not within 7 days and need more time. but the weed still can grow , need further weed killer to get rid of the weed, still a very good lawn food.
Shame i didn’t taje photo before feeding, but my lawn looks amazing now. Before I had patches and my lawn was week, faded colour. I used many different brands but this is the best, the only down side os that is not safe for pets, but only until its wet. I kept my cats indoors for couple of days and they were fine after. Also grass gets black patches after spreading but only for a week and then it turnes into lush green thick colour. My both neighbours has artificial grass and when I look from my upstairs window down to compare I can’t see any difference. Best product I’ve used so far for my law
I love this stuff, it keeps my lawn green and weed free all year round, I have been using it for a few years now, and no trouble at all with weeds, and perfect safe for my dog too.
I used a full tub first time round as my garden had more weeds than grass when I first moved in, and they were all gone in a few days.
Now I just sprinkle a little on wherever I see weeds starting to sprout and they are usually gone in a day or two.
Only negative thing is the sprinkler system on this pack is not great, you need to shake it quite hard to get any out.
Liked the greenness and clearance of moss; disliked the fact that wet clumps of it mean you can end up with too much in spots and burn the grass – leaving brown spaces
My front lawn was looking dreadful after neglect from myself..full of moss dandelions etc well after one gentle spread with this seen the moss die …so cut it left it…but the dandelions oh yes they weren’t defeated and rose their heards.. so I thought well maybe one more dose not to the makers recommendations but Ive done it looks ok after 2 days so will keep check on this….my back lawn ? …looks like Augusta lol…my sons words avid golfe
Our grass had recently started to die and we were left with awful dry patches scattered around the grass.
We bought this after reading some reviews having heard people having similar problems and then their grass growing back.
We scattered this after digging up the dry areas in order to help it grow.
I started using this in June so around a month and so watering each day I think it has been helping.
You do need a lot of patience so I am hoping it gets better along the way
I have used this product for a number of years in order to improve my lawn by killing moss and weeds and also improving the grass itself. This year I was amazed at the improvement to the lawn obtained in just over a week, particularly as the grass was suffering from the effects of several weeks of hot and dry weather.
The biggest downside is the price, considering you probably need a bag and a bit for a large garden it can really great pricey, and the prices fluctuate like crazy! Just keep an eye out for when Amazon have them on offer!
Excellent product and very good for the grass but just be careful how you spread it. Really does need one of the mechanical spreaders.
The problem is making sure that it is spread evenly. Drop spreaders do not let you check how much is being spread and especially ones where you have to bend down to adjust on/off control. Rotary spreaders with handle operated control are much better but need skill to operate. The fertiliser is messy and corrosive when wet / damp so it is imperative to clean the spreader after use. I have a well stained garage drive from the drop spreader and some patches in the lawn that were missed but generaly my lawn is looking good as I used a rotary spreader after the disaster with the drop feeder. I also had plenty of rain to encourage growth so it does work – good luck.
My lawn was full of moss and weed. It killed all the moss within a few days but weed took a little longer. I now have a dark green beautiful lawn free of weed and moss. Make sure you do not over spread as it can kill the grass. Be patient to see the results and overseed the patches. The black patches are getting greener but it is slow. Make sure after you spred if there is no rain for 2 days water the grass. Overall I am happy with the results.
This is the first time I’ve ever used something like this. Our grass was getting taken over by clover so needed to do something about it. I spread it gently by hand and within 24 hours we started to see it get to work. Really pleased overall and love the lush green its turning the lawn into. Still have a few black patches but they are slowly going. Heres a before and after pic within just 4 days on each other.

I can’t explain the difference this has made to our lawn, we had hundreds of weeds and a huge patch of moss, all the weeds have gone, along with the moss and now the grass is growing back so green and thick. For the price I wasn’t expecting this to be half as good as it is, such good value and really works!
This product works very well – my lawn looks great.
The reason for writing the review is to recommend that people using it be extremely, extremely careful when using it as it can cause a lot of irreparable damage to surrounding areas.
I put it on my lawn one evening and made two big mistakes – not watering it in properly, and getting excess on the patio.
The next morning it hadn’t rained, but morning dew added a bit of moisture and a white paste formed on my grass. This rinsed off fairly easily and caused no damage, but my kids ran over the lawn and into my house, treading the paste inside. This has completely ruined my wooden floor, which now has little stained black footprints all over it which won’t come out.
The excess on the patio (sandstone) has stained a purple-blue colour, also won’t come out. Some excess also dropped from the spreader (separate tool) onto my garage floor which is stained too.
So the lawn looks fantastic, but the cost has been higher than I’d hoped! There are warnings on the label and the above is “user error”, but I just urge people to be super careful – follow the instructions very carefully, only put it on your grass, water it in, and don’t walk on the grass and then into your house for a while to be safe.
Whilst I’m here, if you’re a first time user you’ve got to be careful to spread it evenly as it becomes very obvious where you’ve missed a bit, or under/over spread this product, very quickly… the bits you apply it to properly will becomg long, green and thick pretty quickly!
Just refill the empty spreader pack from this, don’t know why I didn’t think of it years ago. Could have saved myself so much money.
I have two lawned areas at the top and the bottom of a valley side, one being elevated and well drained with the second damp and holding water on the valley’s floodplain. When I moved to the property a year ago the lawns were so sparse, patchy and weed ridden that I considered re-turfing, re-seeding or even astro-turfing. The poor condition of the lawn seemed exacerbate by this season’s weather, with what felt like a month’s drought in April. However, in a final attempt to revamp what I had, I gave Miracle-Gro EverGreen Complete 4 a go and I’ve been amazed with the results. I found it easy to spread by using a disc spreader and after just 3 applications my lawn is now weed free with a dense swath of healthy flourishing grass. My neighbour admitted a bit of lawn envy last weekend and has also ordered the product himself. My biggest recommendation is that I’ve just reordered the item to continue the treatment take me through to autumn so that the lawn can maintain its condition into the winter months.
We brought this because our lawn was more weeds than grass from many years of neglect and it’s worked brilliantly the grass has thickened up and went a beautiful green and most of the weeds curled up and died, I’m really happy with the result and would definitely recommend this product.
My lawn looked awful 3 months ago , full of weeds and moss.
I applied this and then 3 weeks later raked out all the dead moss and reseeded with just a compost and seed mix.
The lawn now ( mid June ) looks stunning .
The only thing I found disappointing was the spreader .
I drilled some small holes in the top of the box and used it like a salt/ pepper shaker over the lawn.
Quickly received despite lockdown. My garden was infested with weed and I was so fed up. Before giving gardeners a ring and spending 100s thought to give it a try. I spread it on 19/05/20 after cutting the lawn ( first picture). Almost 4 weeks later 15/06/20 weeds completely gone. No new growth seen. Thick grass came up though few patches need sowing grass seeds. I’m pleased with the result and it saved me lot of money. Will try once more in August before winter hits.
I gave this product 4 stars as I still had some weeds left after using it BUT it does do what it advertises… IT gets rid of the weeds! My grass is looking as crap as ever though so i’m a bit disappointed with that!
I am doing my grass over a number of weeks and I will report back in a month or two to let you know how my grass got on but up to now its not looking great!
It made my lawn really green and I could see a difference within a day a week later it looks so green. The only thing I would say it it’s really messy. It stains pavement and anything else orange. It will come off with a good scrub or jet wash but when the water is in the grass it runs out making my grey slabs look an orange rust colour.
My lawn is full of weeds and I have used Evergreen previously. I like this easy to use container but unless you read the instructions carefully it won’t cover as far as claimed. It’s two days since applying and clover and dandelions are already black, so I am confident my lawn will soon be rich green and weed free again.
One very important thing to note is that until the lawn has been watered after using Evergreen you must keep pets off it.
Lawn was heavily mossed over with lots of weeds, clover, buttercups and dandelions, this turns the lot of it completely black and gives a good indication of just how little grass I had growing between it all. Not pretty, but its the first step.
Application – this product was easy to apply. It has a build in spout that pours the product as you walk around the lawn. It evenly distributes the product ensuring all grass is covered. For me, it was easy to judge the volume of product to use as my garden is around 100m2, so it was just a case of distributing the whole tub over the full lawn evenly.
Results – moss turned brown within a few days and grass does look greener after a week or so. Down side would be it seems to have encouraged other herbaceous plants to grow on the lawn.
Overall I would recommend this product.
My mistake, I thought it would have had grass sead as well. But not pre reading, it’s my mystake. It’s worked otherwise. No problems with the product, it does what it says on the pack.
Straightforward to use.
You do notice differences almost straight away as long as you water daily for a at least 3 days once it’s down on your lawn.
I’d also suggest you take the surface to get rid of moss and dead grass to see the product work quicker.
I probably feed my lawn 3-4 times a year with this stuff.
After stressfully having to contact carrier who failed to deliver when it said it would we contacted the seller and the carrier and finally the product arrived. Phew!!! Used this product before it greens up the lawn, after killing off moss( goes brown for a few days so doesn’t look very good) but worth the effort.
Bought this after struggling with Ragwort on my lawn for years and unable to control it. My lawn was full of the stuff, it was so difficult to kill off doing spots of killer. So decided to buy a spreader and this weed and feed, after 2 week you can really tell a difference. It’s not cleared it all (like I said.. there was a LOT! I expected it to miss parts) but the majority is dead and gone. With how much of a pain ragwort is I’m honestly shocked at how well it worked!
My grass was looking terrible so I needed to do something to try and revive it. The 4 in 1 treatment has done an amazing job and worked exactly as the packaging described.
If your grass is patchy and got lots of weeds, this stiff is fantastic.
I’m a complete novice when it comes to gardening. I read a few reviews before purchasing but as they were mixed I didn’t really know what to expect. However, as you can see by the pictures, after 21 days the grass is looking a lot better. Considering the grass was barely alive and overridden with moss and weeds it’s a great start. I’ve been advised to do this again in 3 months time and then apply grass seeds etc a couple of months after that. Follow the instructions and away to go. I also bought the Evergreen Easy Spreader+.
I used a scarifier after 14 days to get rid off the blackened moss. I watered the grass between 8-10am every other day during the process as that got recommend to me by a gardener. Told me to not water the grass in the evening, can’t remember why though!
I have used this product several times before. It is very good and does kill weeds and makes the grass greener. Be careful not to use too much as this can kill the grass, I have experienced this when not using a spreader and doing it manually
Originally I thought this was liquid formula,spreading granules was easy,but it attracted birds, which made garden worse for a while,everything seems okay now,still would prefer liquid, specially for a smaller garden.
Update, the photos attached are taken 5 weeks apart. The treatment got rid of a lot of weed, they went black and shrivelled and we raked them and the moss out. The big patches have filled completely and the lawn looks thick and lush. Fantastic!
It does however (like it says on the packaging) prevent new grass seeds from germinating so you should keep that in mind when wanting to fix patches or overseed like I did. Overall I would definitely buy again.
Update:
I am beyond happy with the results. To my surprise, grass seeds which I had paid just a few weeks after application has germinated and is growing well. The lawn has thickened up significantly and no longer browns up after very short mowing. (I have been using a very old hover mower which we have had for over 10 years, the blade is warped and blunt yet the grass still holds up).
I truly cannot recommend this product enough

I applied this on a Sunday afternoon, and the moss was already black/dead the following morning. I watered it in because there was no rain forecast for the following few days. Just waiting for a rake to be delivered so I can scarify it out. Hasn’t done much on the weeds yet (after 3 days) but it does state that it will take longer for the weeds to die off.
I used this on my lawn an week ago and it has certainly greened up the grass significantly which now looks a great deal healthier. The moss is dying off and the weeds in the lawn are obviously struggling and in their final days, soon to be dead I hope. Very pleased with the product.
It is tricky to apply evenly as it is almost impossible to see where you have been. I ended up measuring out strips and using a spreader which has done the trick though. Worth spending a bit of time on this as any missed strips will be obvious and if you apply too much you will likely scorch the grass.
Good product helped the lawn get greener, got rid of weeds but not as expected. Bought this brand second time it is easy to spread, easy to use and “value for money”.
We applied this to our lawn over the shaded parts of it where moss was rife. It blackened and hence killed off the moss within a couple of weeks. We ensured that our dog didn’t go out rolling about in the stuff as the smell is quite potent and we worry what would happen if he inhaled or ingested any of it accidentally. However, after a month or so it looks as though the grass is starting to come through and we are happy and confident that our lawn will start to improve over time. Just trying to be patient.
We have only treated once so far. We purchased a spreader and were glad. The initial greening up of the lawn was tremendous over the first week or two. The lawn has remained much fuller than it had done… But the effects have worn off in the patches where the soil was not as rich. So I will treat again in the Spring. It didn’t really knock back the clover, but it certainly gave the grass a much needed boost. The jury is still out, there is much improvement but still scope for more to be had. I am optimistic that with another treatment or two it will be a very nice lawn.
This stuff is great. Garden was looking tired and thin in patches with yellow/white spots spread across the lawn.
Applied this all over and left for a couple of weeks, grads thickened up and turned dark green.
Once had mowed looked like a carpet, everyone that visited commented on how well it looked and someone even asked if it was AstroTurf as it looked so green.
Have bought the refill so will always have this on hand if needed
This is an absolute must have to keep your garden lawn in tip top condition. Great value large bag, which comes sealed and water tight. Ive been using this product through out the summer and it’s kept the weeds and moss away, leaving behind a perfect lush green lawn.
I use a spreader to put the product down and use according to the guidelines, less is more. It could cause scorching if you put it down in larger amounts. You’ll be surprised how far this bag will go. Ive done my lawn four or five times throughout the summer, and still have enough left for one last spread before the winter.
Spread while the grass is dry, and if you don’t get rain for a few days then you may need to water.
Our lawn was in a poor state with lots of moss, buttercups , dandelions etc. After applying this product it looks a completely different lawn. There are a few slightly bald patches where the moss was and my husband says he will put some seed in them but what an improvement. Will be treating again in the Autumn to keep it in super condition

North facing lawn, bordered by trees and neighbours who can’t tell the difference between grass and clover; the lawn has it’s challenges. Evergreen complete tackles the inevitable moss buildup over winter, provides sufficient fertiliser to really help it thicken and green up afterwards AND now kills off the clover and most weeds too (that takes a few weeks longer). I apply a dose at the start of spring and another a couple of months later. I no longer need to get the Verdone out to kill any weeds.
It is not as convenient as a liquid fertiliser and you do need to be careful to apply evenly (or you’ll see telltale stripes where you’ve double dosed or missed a bit), but it’s much more effective and long-lasting. Get a proper dispenser as the hand-held walk up and down method can be a bit hit and miss.
Easy to use as put in my spreader, didn’t kill much of the moss had to buy other stuff to use. As for the grass I’m hoping to see it go greener and come back to life, at this moment in time I’m on the fence with this product, even though I read lots of great reviews before buying. I shall not give in and try again.
While a bit tricky to measure out if applying by hand, you can figure it out with a bit of a mathematical approach, and get the hang of it fairly quickly. (I only had one patch of slight bald grass due to over dosing the product onto the grass) A spreader would be good if you have a big garden or are not sure on how to work out the dosage- dosage is important!
After a few days from application, there was very little rain, so I used a sprinkler attachment on my hose to water in the product. You quickly start to see the moss going black, and realise just how much of the lawn is moss. After 2 weeks, I then used a rake to pull out as much of the dead moss as I could, cut the grass and then let it breathe for a bit. A week or so later I put down some grass seed, and despite the birds having a feast on it, some of it has managed to take.
The overall result is a much lusher, greener lawn, with no weeds and no mushrooms anymore! Full effect can take upto 6 weeks to see, so I am hopeful that it will continue to improve. The best bit is we still have most of the box left (we have quite a small grass area). So there will be enough for a further application this year if required or even for next year.
It is worth stressing that using this product is not instant, but you will see results over time, particularly if treating bald spots with grass seed too.
Sow it on to your lawn, get the sprinkler on it (or time it so that it rains shortly afterwards) and watch your lawn’s vibrancy pick up in the following few weeks.
It keeps the weeds away, although some more persistent ones do survive.
This definitely keeps the moss. weeds and cloves away whilst feeding the grass. Very happy with the results.
I applied this in April and a month later my lawn is greener and the weeds and moss have been replaced by grass again. I did remove the dandelions by hand (with an old screwdriver to get the root out) first as these seem to come back after treatment. I applied with an old spreader and the difficult bit is to see where you’ve been. I have bought a second pack and will re-treat the lawn in June after raking and dead moss out first.
One possible drawback of this product is that cannot be applied for at least 4 days after grass has been cut. Also, it needs to be watered in thoroughly, which means lengthy use of a hose/sprinkler if you’re not lucky enough to get plenty of rain soon after application and on the following days.
Always my choice as it works well and without fuss. One thing I wish they would do though is add a colour, one manufacturer used to do this stuff in blue which was great, as it would be much easier to ensure proper coverage if you could see it more easily on the ground.
I have used this brand for many years and always find the results to be good, long-lasting, and definitely keeps the weeds and moss under control. However, this year it seems to be less granular than I am used to so comes through my lawn spreader at a faster rate than normal. This makes it very easy to over-dose the lawn unless I move at a rather smart pace and I have to take great care when turning at the lawn edge. That said, the product still works extremely well if applied with caution and with due regard to the instructions.
I have two lawns. Small one at the front and one at the back. The back one suffered badly from the winter days and 3 dogs. As our little one will start walking soon, we decided to do someing on the back lawn and making it dog free.
After some reaserch, I have decided to use this product.
I cleared my garden of rubbish, cut grass to size 5. Used a roller moss remover and run it a few times. Applied this product using a lawn seed spreader. You don’t need a spreader to use it, but as I had one already I used it. Then I prayed to get some rain in 24hrs. It did rain with hail in 24hrs. Looks like my prayer were well heard. ha ha
After approximately 10 days, I cut my grass again and run the moss remover and I can see some changes to my lawn already. It may also be the fact that, my dogs are not allowed there. Poor doddies

So, bought 2x 7kg bags as I have 400m2 in total. I know people say you can burn the grass so I purchased a spreader.
Used 1 bag on the main section of the back garden. Second bag is for front and the extra back garden. Here are the results for the main back garden after about 2 weeks. To be fair, I could have used slightly more, but better safe than sorry. Also, I havnt cut the grass so doesnt look as nice without stripes, but you get the idea.
Disclaimer: I’m not gardening/lawn expert but I do want a nice garden. I have very little to no idea what I’m doing so these are probably not the best results for this product if it was done perfectly.
Notes to self:
1: Fixing a bad lawn takes time. Do not expect instant miracle results.
2: If you OVER feed you WILL kill your lawn.
3: Read and follow the instructions. Correct time of year, amounts/dosage etc.
4. Don’t spread by hand. Invest in a spreader. Even a cheap one will be better than your hands.
5. Always sweep the weed and feed from patios as it will leave marks!
6. Not safe for pets but I use it anyway as my cat mainly stays at home. I also feed the day before a good rainy day.
7. Watch some youtube videos on how others do it before you kill your grass and waste your money. No need for bad reviews due to your own incompetence
8. Get it right and enjoy the garden in the summer and show off to your mates….mine is WIP!
Some weeds die off faster than others. The moss will need to be gently raked out and this could leave some big bare patches depending on how infested you are. It may pay to rake through the thicker grass too as moss can be hidden. Grass seed can be put down a few weeks after treatment.
I had to give the lawn a lighter second treatment a few months in, but eventually I had a weed free garden. This year I gave it a spring treatment and later in the year I just spot treated areas of weed as I was using a spray in feed (It won’t permanently prevent weeds).
Sadly, it doesn’t stop my dog peeing on the lawn and killing off patches, but I do have a nice thick, dark green, weed free lawn.
PLEASE NOTE – after sowing, make sure to brush any product residue from your patio as it will cause orange rust stains that cannot be removed with water/pressure washing. I made this mistake and have had to buy acid based rust remover to clean up the mess.
ProTip: before trying to kill weeds with this, make sure you *know* how much weeds you haven the garden. this actually kills it.
I discover (afterwards) that a large part of my garden was affected. I had to work on the “damage” and buy grass seeds to repopulate…
Bought this by error, thought I was buying grass seed as when I did my such on Amazon it was for grass seed and they trought this in with the grass seed examples and I made the cardinal mistake by not reading the information thoughraly. But have used it, but can’t coment if it has done the job this will ont manifest its self for a few month yet. But as it is an EverGreen pruduct I am expecting it to do the job it is intended for.
I have used this product for years, heaving it home from Wilco’s. The big difference is the constant low price on Amazon (which, in fairness, Wilkinson does generally compete with) and getting it handed to you on the doorstep the day after you order. Great!
Impressed, as after application this product stated to kill the moss within 24 hours, quickly turning it black. Also did a fairly good job of killing weeds, eventually killing dandelions after about 3 weeks.
The existing grass has started to grow fuller and a more deep, rich green colour.
Next I just have to plant some grass seed to fill out the remaining sparse patches.
Found the spout confusing to manoeuvre at first, and wasn’t very confident seeing where I had already sprinkled the product (to avoid overlap), but otherwise am pleased.

I purchased a further bag from Amazon and applied it to my lawn. This time I have ensured that it just covered the whole lawn – we use this product twice a year and it really does fertilise the lawn and kills moss and weeds. The major benefit from regular use is that the grass roots become stronger, the grass subsequently is stronger and more durable and this helps with drainage, reducing the moss and crowding out the weeds. Our first application of the year has been thoroughly watered into the lawn and I am waiting to scarify the lawn to remove the dead moss – each year, the lawn gets stronger and I have up-rated my award to 5 stars.

I purchased this item al with a Scotts Easy Green Rotary Spreader (http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B002B550CU/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_9). which I have also reviewed.
I liked this product, it was well packaged and dry when I applied it to our lawn. I was somewhat disappointed by the fact the the contents did not spread anywhere near 200 square metres, but obviously that is more to do with the spreader than the product itself. We were very fortunate that heavy rain was forecast and duly arrived on time and watered this product into our lawn. 48 hours later, I can see that some of the weeds are starting to die off and I anticipate that it will kill the moss and weeds and fertilise my lawn.
So why only 4 stars, it is doing the job? Well firstly, it didn’t cover anywhere near 200 square metres and whilst I have blamed the spreader, I think that in any event you might be hard pressed to cover an area that size with this item, secondly on price, this item was far more expensive via Amazon than my local garden centre; no it wasn’t on offer and yes my garden centre is normally far more expensive. Thankfully I don’t apply these products more than twice a year and what I pay for it does not detract from how good the product is, however, I do feel that if my local garden centre beats Amazon on price then comment should be made.
Application is very easy. You simply turn the yellow cap over on itself, and gently walk from side to side. In terms of refilling, what is not very clear is that the yellow caps screws to one side and then lifts off. It does not pull off. There are no instructions on the container itself.
Why only 4*. Well, the lawn did turn a wonderful colour of green, but albeit the weeds are stating to die, they did not do so as quickly as other fertilisers I have used (Wilkinson’s). So, I would strongly recommend this product.
