I added this to my solar shed so that I could have a fallback to utility power.
Installation was easy, and it works as intended. It switches between utility and inverter power quickly enough that my computers/monitors/stereo do not notice. There’s a bit of a blip with my LED lights, but I can live with that.
I like the simple and no-nonsense design.
Switching from inverter to grid and back is unnoticeable. Tv and lights don’t even flicker. Battery voltage reading on the switch is off by .3 volts from inverter voltage but doesn’t make much difference in switching voltage unless you use lead acid batteries.
Needed two ATS boxes to to manage my off grid food storage system in case of an emergency. The first box I ordered worked off and on and appeared to be a used item when I received it. I replaced it with a second purchase of the same item and it has worked flawlessly. Still needed a second ATS since the first ATS worked erratically. The new box is performing flawlessly. Food is expensive to replace, in case there is a long time grid outage or some other mishap, my backup off grid system will at least preserve my food.
The one I have transfers under 10 ms, you’re electronics won’t even notice the transfer and you can calibrate the voltage and set the transfer voltages, I’m now able to bet the most out of my 300 watt off grid solar system. right what the doctor ordered. It’ll never make money but great for learning and backup power that never ends.
Bought this to complement my off grid 5 kWh 48v solar setup. When my PV system no longer generates juice and the batteries discharge at my set limit, the MOES kicks in to pull power from my electrical panel to keep things running smoothly. Once the sun comes out and my PV system starts generating DC power and my batteries are getting charged, MOES will automatically switch to solar. It’s a set it and forget it. Install was easy for public power, inverter and battery setup but had some questions on how to wire the MOES OUTPUT L+N to my Reliance Controls Pro/Tran 2 50A 10 circuit box that had L1+L2+N. All solved and works great and easy to set high and low voltage limits. Highly recommended for home, cabin, shed, RV applications. When the system goes from solar to public utility and vice versa, there is a 16ms transfer time. You will see the lights dim for a split second but nothing ever goes off and keeps things i.e. appliances and lights running smoothly. This unit is worth every penny. I might even buy a 2nd unit as backup.
Works so great i bought 2 of them, one to power both my garage and home needs! Easy to follow instructions and the control panel is easy to set high and low voltage. Transfer to on/off grid is seemless the the load is not impacted by the fast switching!
Arrived today, I installed it after I got home from work… I had been using a three position switch
(grid/off/inverter) and that was fine, but quite often I would switch it to “grid” before I left for work since I would be gone for 12 hours and worried that my battery might become depleted if the weather forecast called for a cloudy day.
It’s only been online for a few hours but I’ve played with the battery settings to purposely make it switch from Battery to grid,… and back to battery… it makes the transfer so quick I can’t even see the lights blink.
I can already tell that I’m really really going to like this thing, and it works fine with lithium…
( 200ah 24v GSO lipo4 powerwall batteries )
After realizing that a combo solar controller and an ATS would cost hundreds, I thought that using a stand alone solar controller and ATS would solve my problem of supplying power to my fridge and freezer. The MOES ATS is multi-voltage and worked fine with my 12 volt system. It was easy to install and the owner’s manual was clearly written. It has cut my electric bill by a lot as my fridge and freezer are now solar powered with public power backup.
In bester Verwendung, erkennt die Speicherspannung gut u.ist variabel unkompliziert einstellba
This piece of equipment has many uses! If you think it is just a switch for solar, GUESS AGAIN! I wired my two inputs with 110v male plug ends. Not hardwired, so I can move the plugs around depending on needs. Then by reversing the plugs, so inverter is primary, then plug a 12v walmart power supply into the grid source for the switch trigger. When 12v is lost from wall, it switches to the inverter running on 12v. VIOLA! a solar powered UPS system, that you can make as large as you need by adding more batteries. No solar? Hook a 12v battery charger to your batteries and plug into grid. As long as grid is on, then batteries stay charged. If you are inventive then the options are endless. Power out? Have a generator? This can be used to safely switch to the generator and then back when the power goes out, and returns. If your generator has a load sensor, start it at the beginning of a storm, when the power goes off, switches to gen then back when power returns. Let your imagination run wild, and, the switched part does not care what the source of power is 12v or higher, as long as you don’t exceed amperage. The exception is, ALL SWITCHED VOLTAGES MUST BE THE SAME!!!
While the instructions are not that clear, the unit can be calibrated and once you know how to properly set the Hi-Low points, you just walk away and never have to worry about exceeding the depth of discharge for your batteries. If you have enough battery power the it uses them, if the batteries drop below the set point, it automatically switches to grid. Possibly the most important non-critical purchase I have made for my solar system.
I have a smallish solar system that runs my metal hobby shop (saw, welder, lathe, etc). Never had to use this as I have two 24V 100ah batteries that never fall below 26V (Florida sun). However, have this as a backup and tested it several times by disconnecting the batteries. Wow, cutover to grid power was literally instantaneous. Great product.
I tested this unit using three different inverters. I started with a 700 watts modified sine inverter, then followed with a 300 watts pure sine inverter and finally I used a 1500 watts pure sine inverter. The automated switch worked perfectly and it switched from the inverter to the grid and back flawlessly.
Make sure you wire the unit as on the instructions. I used 15 amp new electric extensions MAKING SURE THAT THE BLACK CABLE IS USED FOR LIFE terminal , White for Neutral and the Green for the ground terminal. Do this on all three connections and double check that you followed this order!
I purchased this to perform inverse transfer from my battery-inverter setup to grid utility when solar/battery goes offline. The biggest quirky thing about it is that it REQUIRES battery voltage in order to function as a transfer switch. To get around this, I took an old AC-to-DC 12V 1A switching power supply adapter and connected it to the Battery Inverter 120Vac output. Therefore, whenever the inverter drops out, it drops coil voltage and switches back to grid utility. The relays inside are of OKAY quality. Not name-brand, but look to be well-built.
Os digo que este aparato ha sido lo mejor a automatizado un sistema solar casero por decirlo as. Y funciona de los cojones.
I think is the best product for this aplication. I install a Schneider 4048, 240 vac, and work at 100%, the switch fron inverter to power authority and back, is incledible, really i not see lost power at moment of the energy transfer between inverter an power authority. I recommend 100%.
I use cable #8 in my connection, the equipment installed in this circuit not use more than 25 Amp. I use in all of my house at full time with 8 rolls batt 445 Amp hours. I use all the appliances of the house. Gas dryer, microwave, 4 ceiling fan, 2 tv’, one desktop, washer, my refrigerator and freezer 6 Amp and 1.2 Amp. Please if you needed, buy. Is a good product to protect a battery life.
I love this as it works flawlessly and to the parameters I set. It has made life so much easier for me. I highly recommend this unit. Be advise that it works with 120VAC as well as split phase 240VAC.
It is a very good product that gives me peace of mind since I know that if the batteries are low the power will switch to the grid.
This power controller is amazing. Switches as advertised and eaze to set up.
Does what it’s expected to do and does so accurately.
This product was extremely easy to install and configure. I set it up in an hour and have had no issues at all. I installed this to switch between my solar panel system and utility power. When the sun goes down it switches over to utility power. Next morning when the solar panels start to generate power, it switches back. That simple.
I don’t know if this is UL-listed (it’s probably not), but this is great for anyone who wants modify their off-grid system to automatically switch to grid power after the battery gets to a certain point. Now I don’t have to worry about the battery ever being drained after cloudy days, and can make my LFP batteries last way longer by keeping them close to 50% charge.
No issues so far, and everything was clearly labeled and easy to put together. I’d definitely try to ground everything if you can, including your inverter if you have one. I will try to update the review after 6 months of continuous use.
Easy to install working as describe, price awesome well packed and fast shipping made my day!
Works as advertised! Not even so much as a blink when switching from battery to city power.
Couldn’t be happier with this! Easy install, works smooth, I never even notice it switch over. I had a question about programming and customer support all the way from China was surprisingly very very helpful
The only reason this product has 4 stars is because I am testing the product. When I run the test needed I will share my review.
Thank you
Barnette Improvements
Love this tech!! Use it summer to run pool filter&attic fan in summer & will use it to run wood heat fan, sump pump, dehumidifier in winter! Protection from lack of power from batteries as well as protect my battery pack from being over depleted.
There are times though, when when there is going to be more lack of sun days then your system is designed for. I wish they could provide a way of pressing one of the buttons to force it to the opposite source (solar is forced to utility, utility is forced to solar) with disregards to the settings…..a manual override. Then you could press the button to force it back to automatic mode. I sometimes want to keep a little juice in the batteries if I know we will have several stormy days in a row, in case I do need it.
Last, as previously pointed out, if your inverter shuts down for some reason, maybe a failure or blown fuse in the inverter, this device will not automatically switch over to utility power. As pointed out, you can manually add a relay, powered by the inverter AC output, to disconnect the battery from the battery input on this device. Having it built in, with an option in the settings, would make it bullet proof.
Very satisfied with Moes transfer switch.
I have it connected to a garage refrigerator. It is an easy way to supplement my solar with public power.
It has running fine for about 2 months, and allows me to get the most out of my solar.
I must say this is a really slick unit!
So I purchased this unit so that I can run my pool pump off of my solar and when the batteries get
low the unit will switch back over to the grid.
It’s very easy to program just set a battery low switch over to grid voltage and a battery high to switch back to your inverter and that it.

I like the unit and it is working for me. I have moved into a Shed/Office for work from home. I will admit Solar powering the shed was an afterthought. My through wall AC is not designed to be ran off of Solar. It is a 12,000 BTU KoldFront. That said with some adjustments I did get everything to switch and switch back without my desktop, or any of my other electronics, shutting down. I have (2) 285 Watt solar panels. I have the Renogy Rover 40A Li Charge Controller. I have (2) 145 ah Enersys Solar Batteries and a Strongway 1500 watt Modified Sine Wave Inverter. I had my inverter shutdown due to overtemp which allowed the batteries to sit at 12.8 volts or better with no load but I was not getting AC. The only quirk I dislike why I knocked off 1 star is that If it is supposed to be using inverter power to provide AC it should know if inverter power is present but it doesn’t. I will figure out a work around but so far so good. I can only get about Half of the Daylight hours out of the Sun but I will take it. Also I found UPS don’t like Mod Sine wave but again solar as an afterthough
Great product, quality, usefulness, reliability and simple to set up.
The product was ordered as a 220 unit but received a 120 unit, also no assurance that it can be used as 220 v unit based on its L1 L2
I wired as indicated, does auto transfer from battery to shore power but I find it does no switch back to battery automatically. More clear instructions with proper indicators of wiring, the diagrams are just copied photos with lines but not real world or accurate depiction of how it should be properly wired indicating voltage on the pictorial lines or colors showing positive and negative 12/24/36 dc volt v.s. 120/240 ac volt connection.
Battery connection terminals are very small compared to others and need the most tie in space so beware connections may need to be made at a terminal block first and then connected to device battery terminals.
Direction book needs updating on how to use modes in device. This is definitely a copy of someone elses design but does not have the directions to back up the devices capabilities.
everything is good so far.
ive used 4 about 6 months so far.
would buy agai
I’m using it for 2 weeks already. It’s working like a clock. So easy to install and program. I do recommend it.
Impressed with the speed that it changes from DC to AC, nor do they realize the connected devices are working well. I hope to buy another one when I extend my panel system.
Great product, easy to transfer load between electrical and solar, easy to program. I’ll buy this product again.
On my unit the battery voltage as displayed is not exact. I’m using this with a Yeti 1400 and boulder 200 solar panels. In order to get the battery voltage reading, I hacked into the Yeti MPPT module by opening the MPPT and soldering leads onto the battery output cables and exiting out the back next to the fan. I verified that this provided an accurate reading by comparing the Yeti’s battery voltage shown on it’s display and reading the voltage at the Yeti’s MPPT input terminals with a good quality Fluke multi-meter. I test this at about 50 points from 100% charged to 10%. The Yeti’s displayed battery voltage exactly matched at each test point. The ATS reads about 0.3-0.4 VDC low, so I compensated for that in the ATS high/low settings. My goal is to keep the Yeti’s charge in the 25% to 75% range, which should dramatically increase the battery live (reference: battery university website). In the event the grid is down for an extended period and the solar panels are unable to keep the Yeti above 25% charge, I added two DPDT relays, wiring the ATS system to the NO poles and wired the grid to the relay coils to keep the relays open. In the event the grid is down, the ATS is bypassed and the Yeti’s is allowed to drop below 25% to keep my loads up.
And don’t freak out if you have all the line-voltage terminations done and the unit does not power up. The battery input must be terminated, which was the final item in my project (done the following day), so I thought I had a bad ATS

Anyone who is thinking about installing your own tied system this ATS is an absolute must. It is very easy to install and program. Once it is tied in it will automatic sense the battery voltage and will switch back and forth between the Battery bank and the Solar Panels. It works great!! I live in Riverside Ca so sunlight I have alot of.. However there are times when clouds and fog show up.. This control deals with this very well and as the sun sets it will shut down the loads from the house and can still top off the battery bank with the remaining sunlight.. BUY THIS!!
Very easy to install. You can put in your own parameters for cut in and out battery voltage.
I’m using mine with a modified sign wave inverter and have no problems.
Product works great so far haven’t had no issues with it ,it switches between power sources with very minimal flicker in lights cannot notice it in other devices overall item works great as it should would recommend if you building yourself a solar powered system
Works just as advertised and better. A reliable piece of equipment. It manages my 2 battery banks flawlessly
several circuits combined . A great way to have a low cost system that will use a small solar systemln a practical way.
Pienamente soddisfatto.
Easy installation however the instructions are lacking. To program the cut on and off voltages, you need to hold the right button down until the voltage flashes, set the desired voltage with the up/down buttons, then press the right button to store the value permanently.
This is magic, there should be a 10 star. I don’t even know how I searched for this item, but this is exactly what I was thinking about. I have two separate solar systems (no utility power), and my home gadgets (TV, Fridge, lights, chargers, etc) only uses DC but was seeing that you can only connect through the inverter. When I asked the seller about the usage in two solar systems, with only DC applications, the seller responded in minutes (as if he was seeing me type) with online manual for DC only application. I immediately ordered, received it well packed (like gold inside), arrived in time and is working perfectly with my two solar DC appliances.
Wow this thing is great just described not to mention shipping time.
Very simple, a dual through, double pole switch for VAC. When the battery voltage reaches the low point, the unit switches to mains, and vice versa. This is a MUST for anyone with an island / battery storage solar array. Very simple and the switch activated fast enough that there is no interruption in the loads.
I have a solar system with batteries powering a few rooms in the house. This unit allows for uninterrupted switching from solar power to grid without disturbing the appliances (TV, Internet). Very unique as most transfer switches work the opposite way of using solar as back up. This switch allows you to be off-grid, but use the grid as back up. The transition is quick and nothing is disconnected. You can also manually switch if you want to move from grid to solar. I will definitely get another one.
This eally helps take the worry away. I have some off grid solar. The pump on my solar hot water heater runs off it, the phone, internet, lights on timers, attic fans in the summer (I need then to run after dark to cool the attic space), and my freezer. On occasion I don’t get enough power to run the whole night. I was really worried when I added the freezer, but it changes over to grid. The switch is so fast that my answering machine never glitches. Well worth the cost.
This product is amazing ,work perfectly in my Schneider 4048 ,the transaction is so smooth ,easy installatio
This unit is a game changer, I can now use my off grid solar panels all the time and not just during an outage.
This uint dose what it is supposed to do. As the battery drains pass the set point it transfers the grid over for power. This way I will never go pass the voltage that will damage the battery. The ups don’t even blink.
Easy to install. Works way awesome. Worry free. On grid with an solar application. You well never know when it switches back and forth. Very pleased.
Fully recommended!! See pictures attached
purchased this because I was ready to go full on with my solar set up. It’s nice being able to connect your devices up to solar but switch over to the grid automatically when you no longer have enough battery power. I connected my Fridge and Freezer up to this ATS and it works like a charm. I’m very happy with this purchase. Thanks MOES.
I have one complaint though. I feel the attachment mechanism for the connected ac lines are inadequate for the job required and are a safety issue. Rather than a round area that traps the attached wire as its compressed by a lug, its a wide flat area that looks to me would lead to movement over time. The area where each of the different wire connection does not give very good separation for the different leads. I think the manufacturer could easily improve on this design. These are ac 120-240 volt high amperage lines, not something you want moving around.
Time will tell, but so far this product does what it advertises very well. So far, I am very pleased.
Trabaja a perfeccion , lo recomiendo. Tengo dos videos en mi canal YouTube de como instalarlo buscalo por Carlos Rivera SolarPR.
Works perfectly as described. I have it connected to TV and fridge and no glitches. Great to know my fridge won’t shut off if my battery bank goes low.
This ATS monitors my solar charged battery and automatically switches me from the utility grid to my inverter output at my programmed Hi Battery Volt setting and switches back to the grid at the Lo Battery Volt setting. Keeps me from forgetting and going dark and having to reset my clocks. Optimum switching also means I save on my power bill since before I would forget to turn on my inverter when the battery got full.
This ATS puts my inverter on hold while switching to grid when batteries are low, and resume to inverter mode by default. Since I’m not feeding the grid, I do not have to worry about permits nor frying anyone should its power fails.
My system is very minimal, using only a 2p4S UPS lead acid batteries each about 18Ah. So at 48VDC I get 32Ah.
However, when my 2000W inverter kicks in each mornings, it maintains the batteries charged, while powering 2 fridges rated at 6.5A and 7.1A, some pond pumps at 2A on a timer, and a ceiling fan 2.5A also on a timer. Since these are surge currents, most of the time my inverter is really idling around 3A. So my electricity usage is cut by half because these main loads are working 24/7. This simple setup saves me about 2.5KW each day. Actually I could have put all the loads on a timer and not buy this ATS, but the fridges must stay on at all time. Moreover, in the future I plan to drive some heavier loads like charging some EVs and I will then get some substantial Lithium battery banks. When I do, these programmable voltage cutoffs will come handy. So I kept this ATS… But if you don’t need this feature along with the 12,24,48V auto recognition then save 2/3 the cost. Buy instead a cheaper reliable ATS and that should work as well.
I am impressed with the change-over time, between Public Power to Inverter, and back. – There is absolutely no flick of the house lights, or on any of on the PCs monitors or the TV.
The unit has enabled me to get the most out of my solar panels and my battery bank, without letting my battery voltage go below 12.5 Volt (after a 2 hour rest).
I have set the regulation of my battery bank (3 x 102AH – 306AH — Flooded lead acid – deep cycle) to Public Power at 12.1 Volt and change back to Inverter at 13.8 Volt.
Thus allowing me to protect the live time of my batteries, and optimize the sun power (of which we have a lot in South Africa) during the daytime and the wind power in the evenings.
I can recommend the product — it works really well.

I have this item setup on a test system with a lithium ion battery. High voltage cutoff is set at 14.6, low voltage cutoff is set at 12.0 volts. Unit switches me to wall power when the battery reaches the low voltage cutoff of 12.0 volts, but does not return to battery power once the battery has risen above 12.0 volts. Even when battery is back to 12.7 volts, I have to either cycle the power switch on the unit, or remove reconnect the 12 volt power plug, or programmatically change the Low voltage cutoff value for the unit to switch back to battery powered feed.
It would seem that there would be more options for an auto transfer switch for battery based backup systems, but there really isn’t. Fortunately, this one does just what it’s supposed to do. Setting the battery voltage for the transfer is easy. The transfer switching time is short enough that all the appliances in my RV do not seem to notice. it’s not the most elegant piece of hardware in existence, but it’s also hidden away in an equipment bay with my solar charge controller lithium battery pack and inverter and is rarely seen. I would recommend this to anyone looking at low power off grid solutions where a battery pack and inverter are your primary sources of power.
I needed a product that would switch between my batteries and grid power, this product performed exactly as advertised for a low aH (i.e. 100aH) off grid application. I am transitioning to a much higher 700aH system. We’ll see how it performs.
This automatic transfer switch works great. It does exactly what it is supposed to do. Set up is very easy.
Works Great… , Saves on Electricity bills as it only switches to the grid when the Battery bank is low
Great product I got it on Friday 4/26/29 and hooked it up very very easy to do works like a charm thanks
This product works as advertised. The exceptionally fast power transfer happens without anything thing or any one even noticing. This makes it a real game changer for solar installations. Highly recommended.
Su aplicacin es justa lo que buscaba, es 110/220 y multivoltaje en DC
I have not installed it yet, however it is the last piece I needed to complete my project.
Well built ATS product. Works as describe, serves its purpose.
I do love it, it works well! But I wish I didn’t see open wires, under the switch. I would like an enclosure with a lid to open to run wires. A box where all wire terminals are enclosed. A box where conduit could be attached. Other then that it works well.
Great product. Works like a charm. However Need better directions for install. I went to youtube to help with the install, which helped greatly.
Cons: not the best user manual, rather scary when dealing with potentially ungrounded 110v+ power and the manual warns of “smoldering fire” if anything goes wrong.
Includes virtually no info about grounding the AC output line from the transfer switch. Also does not make it clear what powers the LCD, causing me to panic when it would not start the LCD off battery power alone fearing an ungrounded defective unit may short my home’s AC lines. Turns out it apparently needs a grid AC connection to power up the LCD and program the unit at all.
I grounded the battery negative to earth via an outside stake and the AC plug ground to the battery negative. My ground detecting power strip claims it is grounded and no fires yet. Phew!
My only remark is that each of the five ats shows a different battery voltage, even though they are connected to the same battery bank with the same wire length. The voltage readings are off by up to 0.8V. This makes it very difficult to do the switch on or off settings for different loads that are connected to the different ats.
I wish there was a way to calibrate the voltage readings, to trigger some kind of offset that brings them all in line again.
My system works like a dream until last winter when I was away. We had almost no sun while I was gone and my batteries got down to a really low level. The batteries have never been the same – not as efficient.
I stumbled upon this product and almost couldn’t believe it. It appeared to be just the thing for my solar setup. I hooked it up. Like another purchaser, hooked my grid ground to inverter ground to ac output ground. I hooked it up to one of my inverters that runs my huge refrigerator w/icemaker and deep freezer. I set the lower switching voltage to 12.2 and the upper to 14.4 (I want the batteries to charge up really well in the morning before it switches the fridge and freezer back to the batteries)
THIS THING REALLY WORKED! It switched the power from inverters to the grid so fast that the fridge didn’t even notice. Usually the fridge’s computer buttons light up and beep when there is a interruption to power. Like I said, it kept humming along like nothing happened.
I ordered a second one to switch my computers, DVR, flatscreen TV, etc. I will be setting the switching voltages for that inverter so that they switch back to grid only when the batteries get much lower.
I am a happy customer, and would recommend this to anyone who has tried on their own to get the best of both worlds between solar and grid power.
The only thing that is not clear is : where to tie the green ground wires, the manual is not clear about it, I tied all my public ground to the inverter ground, and to the ac output ground, it is working…
