Following the idea of Noctua’s redux line, the NH-U12S redux takes the proven concept of the original NH-U12S and reduces it to its essential core: a quiet, quality-made 120mm cooler with streamlined accessories that is highly compatible and easy to install.
You could get away with something $10-$15 cheaper, however, this is just built well. The build quality and ease of installation (LG1700 compatible out of the box) make this a great cooler for i5 12400. Sometimes buying quality is better than saving a few bucks and having something not quite right.
La mejor refrigeracin que he probado, se nota el trabajo puesto en crearlo, tanto en materiales, como en montaje, las instrucciones slo estn en ingls pero a pesar de ello son muy intuitivas.
En un i5 12400 me ha reducido entre 25 y 30 grados la temperatura de la cpu durante pruebas de estrs

Si estis buscando algo silencioso, que os vaya a durar muchos aos, y que mantenga bien las temperaturas de cualquier i5 o similares, este disipador cumple muy bien. La instalacin es muy sencilla, lo tengo en un 12400F y las temperaturas son muy muy buenas, ya casi en Junio, con una temperatura ambiente de 25C, la CPU se mantiene entre los 28 y 33C en tareas de Windows, y entre 47 y 55C en juegos que hacen bastante uso de la CPU, por lo que es excelente. Otro aspecto que miro mucho es el ruido, y este Redux es una tumba, llevo utilizando desde hace mas de 1 dcada muchos ventiladores y disipadores Noctua y por lo general, aunque no son los mas econmicos, merecen la pena. Quizs estticamente muchos de sus productos no son los mas vistosos (con ese color marrn), aunque este Redux es algo mas bonito y creo que Noctua ha hecho muy bien lanzando un producto de esta Gama.
Si tenis pensado un disipador para un i5 o similares para AMD, este Redux es muy recomendable, si en cambio tenis un i7, le vais a meter mucho OC y/o tenis una caja muy cerrada, posiblemente tambin os pueda valer, las temperaturas no sern tan optimas pero sin llegar a ser alarmantes, aunque hay mejores opciones, obviamente pagando mas.
Desde que mont mi primer pc con un noctua no he dejado de comprarlos, y he mirado otros disipadores pero siempre vuelvo a este porque me dan confianza ya que son de bajo sonido, buena calidad y funcionan muy bien. Este no tiene nada que envidiar a sus hermanos mayores o ms caros.
installed this cooler on my friends pc. this cooler is very easy to install with very clear instructions, very silent operation and pc is running a lot cooler on big games compared to the AMD wraith stealth cooler that was on previously. highly recommend this cooler and any other Noctua Products!
Decid comprar este disipador puesto que el que tena instalado (stock AMD), no era capaz de enfriar mi ryzen 7 3700x inclusive sin los paneles laterales en el gabinete y con el aire acondicionado encendido. Pase de tener 95c IDLE a 42.3C usando el disipador de Noctua. Sumamente recomendable, fue super fcil de instalar.
Un bon rapport qualit-prix, une belle qualit de fabrication, un peu sonore en pleine charge mais mon ryzen 5 pro 4650g en plein jeux reste 40 dans un botier bien ventil.

Very stylish, easy to use with AM4. Was using a stock cooler on 3800X for way too long so I got this. It did great, but then I upgraded to 5900X. Still no issues. No blender or otherwise but I do some light video editing and other rendering as well as gaming.
I have an Intel I7-12700k that is overclocked and adding the second fan keeps the temps more than under control. The Noctua CPU fan is quiet and efficient. This is so much better than having an AIO stuffed in the case.

Moves a lot of air efficiently and quietly, especially with the 2nd fan added on. The 2 bolt bracket is kinda odd considering the size and weight of the cooler but only time will tell if there’s an issue down the road.

Ich bin auf ganzer Linie begeistert. Mein i7-12700 bleibt khl und der Lfter ist fast unhrbar.
Ich hatte zunchst den DH14, hab dann jedoch erfahren dass laut Noctua der 12er auch reichen sollte, also wollte ich es probieren. Mit Erfolg! Selbst wenn ich bis prime95 die CPU ber 200W bringe bleibt sie unter 65C und der Lfter angenehm leise. Die RTX3070FE ist in fast allen Szenarios lauter.
Vor dem Noctua habe ich noch einen bequiet 14er Lfter im Gehuse, dahinter einen Corsair 12er,so kommt ein guter Airflow zustande.
Das redux-Design finde ich sogar angenehmer als das sonst recht auffllige Design von Noctua. Ich mag es schlicht.
Ich kann mir nicht vorstellen, einen teureren Lfter zu kaufen. Klare Empfehlung.
Die Montage war sehr leicht, gut beschrieben und selbst fr die damals neue 12. Generation von Intel war alles dabei. Wrmeleitpaste ist bereits auf dem Khlkrper und wird nicht mehr bentigt.
Utilis des fins musicales (MAO), mon processeur connu pour chauffer plus que de raison (I5 12600K) avait besoin d’un systme de refroidissement convenable ! Et bah franchement foncez je suis allergique au watercooling (prix, montage, etc) et ce systme vous apportera entire satisfaction !
Stock cooler is garbage. CPU would reach 100C. With this cooler it stays below 63 even when torture tested with AVX 512 and power limits removed. A bit pricey but worth it.
This CPU Cooler is hard to beat in the price versus quality category. If Noctua ever puts some of this energy into rgb and case construction, they are going to take a bit part of the market.
This is the second Noctua CPU heatsink/cooler I’ve used and it easily installs and works great at keeping CPU temperature under control. The fan is quiet and the heatsink it less hassle to install than a water cooler. I used this with a MSI Pro Z690-A motherboard and an Intel i7-12700K CPU installed in a mid-tower system case.
Great cooler, but be careful when ordering for a LGA1700 chip. Noctua included the adapter in boxes from March 2022 onwards. Some sellers will give you an older box without the adapter. Check the box before opening, it will be written on the side if it is compatible.
Very good quality cooler by Noctua, perfect for my new i5 11400 build. Allows it to boost to maximum speed on heavy loads and is still super quiet. Only slight quibble is the redesign of it backplate. Far more fidly and time consuming to assemble especially for novice builders, Noctua lost points on that. Overall though very solid component for the price point.
Follow the directions to a tee. My go-to for almost all builds. Has thermal paste already on it but add a little drop of thermal grizzly kryonaut and be ready to be blown away. Great value. Noise level also great.
Very easy to install with clear instructions. Great value for the price. It’s practically silent from my experience so far. I switched it from an old fan that originally came with my Core i7, and wasn’t doing a great job at keeping it cool, and wasn’t always quiet. On idle, I went from about 42C to 32C, and during gaming, from 65-75C to about 50C. I just wish I had gotten a better fan a long time ago.

I like that there were stands for each motherboard. It was easy to put it on, had very nice thermal paste included, brought my ryzen 5600x temps from 85c to 60c whilst staying really quiet. Great item 100% recommend.
I was looking forward to getting some better airflow. When I was turned to the Noctua, i was a little skeptical in the price, but when I actually got it and found out about the lifetime warrenty as well as any upgrades for mounting kits will be sent to you, I was sold. This thing is super quiet, a little to big for my mid tower case, but it works and the pc stays at low temps with the fan on and I can’t even hear it. The OEM fans on my case are louder than the bigger noctua fan. Easy install and great instructions.
Noctua, as most of PC enthusiast know is the go to brand for quality cooler. Over time, I’ve simply skip most over brands, and buy Noctua when it comes to cpu cooling fans. This one is a great value at 50, and for what it does, no complaints.

About 200% easier to install than the classic Hyper 212. Outperforms my previous AIO, compatible with LGA 1700 out-of-box. Extremely good value. Outperforming the stock cooler on my i5 12400 by about 35 degrees.
Mont dans une tour BeQuiet! 500DX, sur un cpu i5 12600k et cm MSI Pro Z690-A, j’obtiens 30 en IDLE et 45-50 max en jeux (rglages 4K lev ou ultra). Le niveau sonore est plus qu’acceptable en charge, et quasi inaudible en idle.
Le kit de montage fourni est complet (compatibilit socket LGA1700 incluse).
Le montage est trs simple, bien expliqu dans la notice, et la pte thermique est dj applique.
Pour ce prix l, il n’y a rien redire, je recommande ce ventirad !

– Le coupler a un second nfp12 ne serais pas trop utile les gains observer aprs teste sont de l’ordre de 1 2 pour plus de bruit.
– Montage hyper simple et rapide +/- 5min.
I upgraded my Ryzen 5 3600XT to a Ryzen 7 5800X, so I needed a new cooler. I only wish I had gotten this earlier. It idles at 28-30C and barely broke 70 running 100% load on all cores with Cinebench and Handbrake. It’s audible when it spins up, but nothing like the Wraith Spire included with the 3600XT. It also runs a good 10+ cooler, despite the CPU having 10W higher TDP.
Installation was simple and it easily cleared my Crucial Ballistix RAM with heat spreaders.
At first I was disappointed with the performance of this cooler. With 12600K default settings of 4.5 GHz 1.168V, core temperatures exceeded 90 degrees Celsius (Prime95 small fft with avx enabled). Then I read some articles about alder lake cooling and realized that these cpus has increased requirements for cooling, and even best air coolers like the Noctua D15 and U12A can dissipate a maximum of 220 watts.
I was able to overclock i5 12600K to 4.8GHz at 1.118V (even under avx load) with power consumption of 150-160W and core temperatures below 90 degrees Celsius. Which I consider a good result for a $50 cooler.
No knock to intels stock cooler as I actually was surprised that it was decent but this noctua Nh-u12s redux cooler is worth the upgrade! My average idle temps went from 45 degrees down to around 27- 29 degrees Celsius and a low of 24 with the new cooler. I’m running an i5-12400 (lga1700) at stock.
– as far as noise goes I was expecting it to be super quiet but I feel it is similar to the intel fan.
– install was super easy with instructions that are very easy to follow.
– i would recommend this so far to anyone looking for a reasonably priced cooler. If I have any issues in the future I will update my review, hope this review helps someone.
Ottimo prodotto giunto completo anche del kit LGA 1700 per i processori Intel serie 12 : unico neo potevano essere aggiunte le due clip metalliche per montare la seconda ventola . Comunque gentilissimo ed efficiente il Customer Care di Noctua che me le ha inviate su mia richiesta.
Used this product on a recent build. Excellent instructions and easy install, functions very well. Only negative is that on an ASUS TUF Gaming Z690-PLUS WIFI D4 the fan blocks the first RAM bay.
I have this mounted on a Gigabyte B660M AORUS Pro AX DDR4 running an i5-12400. Yes, it works with LGA 1700 out of the box, at least at the time of my purchase in early February ’22. It was easy to put on inside my Fractal Design Define Mini C. It is practically silent. I had the stock cooler which comes with the i5-12400 on for two days, it made me not want to use my computer it is so ridiculously loud. Core temps dropped 15 degrees Celsius as soon as I installed it, but that is to be expected, is it not?
I bought this because I was hitting peak temperatures of 82c on my Ryzen 5 5600x under full load with the stock cooler on stock bios config for the cpu.
I chose this unit because I gad a great experience previously with the NH-u12P on my old core i7 920 and decided to stick to a brand I know even if it cost a bit more than the competing deepcool and cooler master units. I definitely don’t regret this decision. Core Tempuratures with the Noctua dropped to 55c under full load. A pretty substantial drop. As a bonus, the better thermals allow the CPU to boost better: my Cinebench scores went up from 10600 to 11200.
Pros:
-Easy and very solid installation/mounting process and overall setup. Easily the best in the business.
-Quieter than the stock Wraith cooler even at full fan speed. The Noctua fan doesn’t even end up spinning at max rpm under the stock fan speed curve of the motherboard and temps are still excellent.
-27c temp drop for my own personal setup under full load.
-Noctua build quality and performance for a more reasonable price.
Cons:
-Still expensive compared to the Deepcool Gammaxx 400 and Cooler Master Hyper 212 for likely similar performance. You definitely pay premium for the better mounting system and brand recognition.
-The redux fan is quiet but still noisier and not as efficient as the regular Noctua fans.
I don’t really want to use AIO’s so i bought this cooler. It’s pretty good, temperatures on my i5-12600k don’t go above 60c and i’m playing on 2K Max Settings every game.

Noctua NH-U12S redux, with the intel 10700K cpu, it runs between 55 – 65 degrees Celsius at 100% load, continuous! The i7 stock cpu cooler ran at 90 -100 degrees Celsius at 100% load, and yes I tired applying more thermal paste, it did not help.
Before mounting the Noctua cpu cooler, I added one drop of thermal paste, even though the cooler already had some, so maybe that helped, because I didn’t read any other reviews saying it was 35 degrees cooler, all said 20-25. I also have a full ATX case with good airflow, but just 1 in fan and 1 out fan.
I previously had intels basic cpu cooler that came with my 10th gen i7 and was running into thermal throttling issues. Bought this at a great price and I was a bit scared to install it because I dont work on PCs very often. This came with pre applied thermal paste and very clear instructions so it was very easy. Theres plenty of video guides online as well. I run many CPU intensive games and have not had a single problem with thermal throttling since installing this.

Ordered on Nov 29th 2021 and got it on Dec 1st 2021(not a prime member). No LGA1700 upgrade kit included. All you need to do is, go to Noctua website and fill the form(make sure you find the right form for LGA1700 kit). NM-i17xx-MP78 is what you need for this heatsink. They also need you to provide the proof of purchase of NH-U12S redux, and LGA1700 CPU or LGA1700 motherboard. It took over 2 weeks to ship from Austria to Vancouver. Free of charge.
Once you got the upgrade kit, installation is easy. Just follow the instruction of their Youtube tutorial.
Since this heatsink was designed for LGA1200 and older CPU, the heatsink dimension(the contact part to cpu) is slightly smaller than the latest intel 12th gen i5-12600k. The size of heatsink is about 3.5 x 3.5cm(the contact part to CPU). The long side of i5-12600k cpu is 3.9cm. After the new system boot up and launch the HWiNFO64, what a relief. The temperature is just fine. It’s around 25-27C idle most of the time.
You may google the review of NH-U12S redux. It’s only one or a few degree higher than those much more expensive/intimidating cooler heatsink. It fits to my MSI PRO Z690-A WIFI DDR4 and old case Arc Midi R2 very well. You can check your PC case compatibility at Noctua website as well.

PS: if you have M.2 SSD and want to put it to the slot below the CPU, install it first before you put the heatsink on. I’m still using my 2 y/o Samsung 860 EVO 1TB as OS drive(plus 4 more SATAs). and I’m not sure if you need to remove the heatsink if you wanna install the M.2 later. It’s very close. Some M.2 drive w heatsink is big, the heatsink may be in its way.

Acquistato per la mia nuova build, volevo optare per il NH-U12S chromax black sempre di Noctua, ma nonostante sapessi bene essere un pelo sopra a questo NH-U12S redux ho scelto quest’ultimo per una questione estetica e d’impatto all’interno del case.
Noctua una garanzia e si cade sempre in piedi, difatti il dissipatore molto funzionale e anche a bassi regimi riesce a mantenere il processore a temperature basse.
Really nice build quality and comes pre assembled with the best looking thermal paste. Seriously, the honeycomb pattern is showing off. Easy to install with 2 people, harder by yourself. My 5600x now idles in mid 30s and the fan is extremely quiet.
My Previous temps with an AIO, as I booted, hit 95~99 Celcius. It was obviously faulty. But after getting this Air cooler. Bruh. What a sigh of relief after installing it and returnijg my PC to it’s original/default settings (in the Bios) (just to see if that would’ve caused an issue). But no.
This is a major Go from me. Perfect product. I might even buy another fan for the fun of it.

I am currently running at 38 C idle and pushing up to 80~85 C full load.
After a bit of research and some previous experience with this brand decided to upgrade from a Cooler Master Hyper 212 after upgrading from a 2700x to a 5800x. Mounting was monumentally easier, only needing to dig out the backplate to my motherboard. PC doesn’t see a ton of use but seeing idle temps between the high 30s to low 40s.
Used this same cooler on my brother’s PC, i7 6700K. Came from a AIO cooler with a bad pump to this, immediately noticed an improvement in temperatures and the PC itself ran much faster.
Tolle CPU Khlung mit einem richtig leisen Noctua Lfter. Habe jetzt geringere Geruschpegel, als mit meiner alten Wasserkhlung. Installation war recht einfach, da gut beschriebene Anleitung dabei war.
Great CPU cooler temps now about 19c lower under load, but i like Noctua support more i emailed on xmas day asking how to get extra fan clips and now its 5 days later and clips arriving tomorrow thats amazing.

No trae los ganchos para colocar un segundo Fan (aunque no es necesario ya que solo bajaria unos cuantos grados segun algunas reviews, a veces la estetica manda).
No trae la plaquita metlica adhesiva con el logo de Noctua para adornar tu case o tu cuaderno.
No duden en comprarlo, se ve sencillo pero cumple con la calidad de Noctua.
While the fitting is legendry Noctua, the performance is not. In fact my cooler master 212 evo black gave the same temps for a lot less. The fan can be noisy, in fact I swapped it out for the CM 212 fan after exchanging the spring clips. Is it worth 10 more than the 212 black? For the ease of fitting probably, but get a decent fan.
Had to order this because the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black RGB edition cooler I ordered, didn’t come with the bracket for LGA 1700 CPUs. Turned out to be a great decision, this cools my i5 12600kf perfectly, idle temperature is just below 30 degrees Celsius on average and with some light gaming the max it’s reaching is 50 degrees Celsius. I’m not overclocking the CPU though, so bear that in mind.
Installation was incredibly easy, it was my first time building a PC, but the instructions were really easy to follow.

Rndelschrauben sind zusammen in dem Pckchen, das eigentlich nicht fr Sockel 1700 vorgesehen ist.
Seperate Verpackung der Rndelschrauben wre daher angemessen.
Deutsche Bedienungsanleitung wre hilfreich. Wute nicht, da man in stereich Englisch spricht.

Comprato per sostiuire quello stock del processore. I risultati sono davvero ottimi per quel che mi riguarda ora il processore anche sotto sforzo importante mi rimane efficente e con ottime temperature. Unica cosa controllare bene le dimensioni prima di aquistarlo.

El nivel de ruido es sumamente bajo, y el control de temperatura es increible, a pesar de ser la versin redux mantiene mi Intel Core i7-10700F en modo de reposo en los 35C ~ 40C, en modo alto rendimiento con videojugos en torno a los 60C ~ 65C estables. Esto con un unico ventilador (el que ya trae el disipador), quedando aun la opsin de agrgar un ventilador ms.
Much better than the stock fan, this one is quiet I have never had an issue with it on this pc. It is quiet large though so make sure you have enough space.
Cools My 12700k. Even on a max Synthetic Load, Cpu Temps top out at 80C. Noctua says that LGA 1700 should be included as of October but Amazon may send you an old Unit that does not contain LGA 1700 hardware. that’s what happened to me. Fortunately Noctua supplies the adapter for free. Noctua told me that they cannot control if a new unit containing LGA 1700 or an old unit without it gets sent out. So if you need a cooler ASAP for your 12th gen CPU and cannot wait for an adapter, get the u12a chromax black as that cooler always comes with the LGA 1700 hardware
Noctua es una marca prestigiosa en disipacin, posiblemente la mejor en disipacin por aire, me compre un Aerocool que me dio muy mal resultado, mas de 60 en el escritorio, pero con este Noctua emulando android y convirtiendo video a FullHD podemos ver que est a 38, as que es un disipador increble, adems teniendo en cuenta que es una versin Redux muy muy buen resultado.

Idle temperatures dropped from 50C to 29-30C. I don’t game too much these days but even a not very intensive game such as Civilization 6 was bringing temps up to 85C. Now its 48-50. Excellent cooler, easy to install.
CPU temperature dropped by 20 degrees at full load, compared with stock cooler. If you are thinking about getting this cooler, just do it. Noctua delivers, as usual.
Very happy with my NH-U12S Redux, stays reasonably quite even under extended 100% load.
It doesn’t really offer me any performance benefits with my (admittedly slightly aging) AMD ryzen 1600 over the stock cooler. However, it is much quieter so if you want something that is quiet, will look much better through the window in your PC, and most importantly, aren’t opposed to spending the extra money, then this is an excellent cooler!
This cooler (Noctua NH-U12S redux) works exactly as described but it has its issues. I’ve bought the
premium versions of these coolers (for other computers) and the difference between the Redux and Premium versions is quite large when it comes to quality. Also there are ZERO accessories inside the box (it states that before you buy). The redux version also has less heat pipes and the ones you get are not soldered. (the premium heat pipes are). The fan clips for this Redux cooler are different also. They’re not the springy flexible type, but are more rigid, so not easy to put on or take off (as are the premium) It could be due to the fin spacing on the Redux version of this cooler too, but they’re definitely harder to put on and line up. All in all this Redux version is fine, but it should be much cheaper (in my opinion). I say that as the savings over the Premium, are just not enough to validate the small price reduction. (and the Premium isn’t cheaper). This Redux Cooler is fine, it works and keeps the CPU cool (as its intended to do) but its not high end quality. You decided if a mere few dollars in savings is worth the quality reduction and no accessories? In my opinion I’d say buy the premium and get the better product. So No more Redux purchases for me, not unless they drop the price substantially. Noctua are all great products though and one of the best out there.
instructions need to be updated though was easy to install. The back plat and screws where replaced with a backplate with nuts and bolts.
The fans very silent and the cooling performance is great.
I’m currently using this product for an replacement for my broken water cooling.
I am planning to keep this product for a back for in case my water cooling fails in the future.

Cuando he instalado U12S Redux, no poda comprender si cooler funciona o no totalmente silencioso bajo de 10 minutos de Linx stress test!

Easy to install and results are clear. My Ryzen 5 3600 with stock cooler would previously cross 90 C at max load now it won’t go over 72 C. Worth noting that I’ve tweaked the fan curves to be next to silent so you could get a lot more out of this thing!
Noctua’s secufirm mount is incredibly easy on am4 motherboards, didn’t have to mess around with motherboard backplates & taking computer halfway apart. It was an easy 5 minute job to install.
Reasonably priced, cool, quiet… probably the best bang for the buck. Worked great for my Ryzen 5600x and keeps CPU from throttling much better than stock cooler. Extremely easy to install. Highly recommended.
I bought this to replace a water cooler when I swapped out the motherboard and moved the original to a different computer. I had already mounted the old motherboard in the case and connected things up when I came to the cooler. There already was a mounting plate installed from the old water cooler..
The printed instructions were graphical only and I needed to place in a new base on the underside of the m/b which was inaccessible when in position. I had to remove the m/b from the case to complete. This wa exacerbated by the diagram of the base constuction showing the wrong components.
It does cool effectively however.
Bought as temps were getting too high on the stock AMD cooler (Ryzen 5 3600) when there was a recent heat wave (interior of apartment was hitting 30+ degrees during the day, cpu hitting 85+ while gaming).
Fits the B450 Tomahawk motherboard and cpu fine, with clearance over the memory (check your tower case is going to have enough space – mine clears the interior of the outer case side by about 0.5cm!), using the supplied attachments and instructions that came with the cooler. It was a breeze to fit, though as I had removed the CPU to clean off old thermal paste, I had to re-enter bios and re-do most of my settings (e.g. memory clock speed) after installing. So as precaution, you can note your settings prior to installation (not the fan’s fault).
While the weather isn’t as hot at present so can’t provide a direct comparison, the CPU isn’t even hitting 55 under load at present (the room is currently only mid 20’s). Will add extra to review if the air temp hits the 30’s over summer, so there’s a comparison with the stock it replaced – but given I’m able to adjust fan speeds at various temps via the bios menu on boot (I don’t recall being able to do so with the stock, but maybe I never noticed), I’m confident it’ll be a huge improvement from the toasty temps the stock cooler reached.
However, at the 40 odd quid it cost, worthy investment to keep electronics in more friendly temperature ranges. It’s also quieter too.
This cooler is excellent value for money, but very much not ‘budget’. I use it to cool a 5950X running overclocked at 4.4GHz. I bought this cooler because my case wasn’t big enough for the bigger U15 cooler, but in retrospect I didn’t need one anyway! This cooler has excellent performance.
You may have to adjust your BIOS settings to get it running as quietly as it should be — the fan is audible when spun up to higher speeds, but it really isn’t necessary. I adjusted the speed curve in my BIOS and found that I could stay under 70C during 32-thread compilation jobs without letting the fan get noisy.
The fins on the heatsink bend very easily, and during installation it is necessary to remove and re-attach the fan. I don’t think bending them a little is affecting perfomance, but it’s a niggle. The fan ought to be shipped un-attached, so that you only have to clip it on once, rather than having to remove then reattach.
I bought this item with an additional fan (Noctua NA-FK1 redux) to use for a new PC build, having checked that it was compatible with both my motherboard and processor… what I hadn’t factored in was the height of the item (this has a 120mm fan). Unfortunately, it was too big for my standard sized microATX case. Fortunately, I was able to return the item for a full refund and instead, purchased a slightly smaller CPU cooler (Noctua NH-U9S), which provides more than adequate cooling for my purposes. I’d highly recommend that you visit Noctua’s website as they have full compatibility lists for processors, motherboards and cases! Just a quick point to note, this is part of Noctua’s ‘redux’ range, which is slightly cheaper than their premium products, but still more than up to the job.

Easy to fit even in the case with top fans fitted and has dropped my temps on both the cpu and motherboard by around 20C. There’s plenty of clearance for RAM and graphics cards.
ispetto al dissipatore stock (ho un ryzen 5 2600) le temperature di sono abbassate di circa 10 in idle, e di 20 o pi in game, ora la cpu non supera i 50 (prove fatte a parit di gioco, e con temperatura ambientale molto simile). in pi meno rumoroso, direi decisamente soddisfatto. calza perfettamente nel mio case q300l, fosse stato pi alto di 1-2mm non ci sarebbe stato.
Eines vorab: ich bin jemand, der ganz aus dem Huschen gert, wenn eine Firma wie Noctua ein Produkt wie dieses bringt.
Noctua steht in der PC-Welt vor allem fr eines: kompromisslose Leistung und makellose Qualitt. Bis dato waren die Jungs und Mdels aus sterreich aber nicht unbedingt fr ihre budgetfreundlichen Khler bekannt.
Das soll nun also die Redux Serie ndern. Also habe ich mir die, trotz eigentlich keinem Bedarf, ins Haus geholt. Das Teil werkelt in einem itx build im berhmten NR 200 und khlt einen r5 3600x.
Die Montage war, wie bei Noctua nicht anders zu erwarten, ein Kinderspiel. Dem preislichen Kahlschlag ist dabei lediglich der sonst beiliegende Schraubenzieher und die Tube Wrmeleitpaste zum Opfer gefallen. Ebenso der Y-Connector und Klammern fr einen zweiten Lfter.
Diese sind nun separat zu erwerben, sollte man wirklich mehr Khlleistung brauchen. Wird in der Realitt wohl erst ab i9 oder r9 wirklich ntig, ist aber eine Option.
Anyway, Einbau einfach, Qualitt stimmt. Zum Vorbild NH U 12S unterscheidet sich der Redux durch eine fehlende Heatpipe und etwas andere Verltung selbiger an der Base Plate. Das drckt den Preis ebenso, wie das fehlende Zubehr, tut der Leistung aber kaum einen Abbruch. Zu meinem u 12s habe ich Unterschiede um die 3 (idle) bis 7 (Volllast, prime 95, 100% auf allen zwlf Threads) festgestellt. Das ist schon richtig stark.
Es ist sicher nicht der billigste 120mm Khler, den man finden kann, aber in meinen Augen auf jeden Fall der Beste in dem Preisbereich. Gerne mehr Redux, Noctua. Ich werde zwar wieder unntig viele Khler zu Hause rumliegen haben, aber wenn ihr dafr weiter solche Produkte macht, nehme ich das in Kauf.
I was looking around for an aftermarket CPU cooler at this price point and saw the recent video on Linus Tech Tips about this coming out – it was right in my price range so I didn’t even need a second thought to buy!
This fit perfectly in a Fractal Meshify C MicroATX case. Easy to install on an AM4 socket with pre-applied thermal paste, and it reduced CPU temps under a full stress-testing load from around 83 celsius to barely breaking 70 (Ryzen 5 3600, running at around 4.0-4.2GHz when boosted. From videos I’ve seen, this performace matches even the more expensive non-redux version. The fan is nearly silent on day-to-day gaming load, and with the right fan curve, barely even needs to go up to full power (where it will be as loud as any other CPU cooler in this price bracket, but will definitely shift some air!).
Noctua are one of the most respected brands in computer cooling for very good reason – they are excellently made, have what is widely regarded as the best mounting system in the industry, and thier products deliver on performance. I have also heard thier custoomer support is excellent, not that I’ve needed it. Apparently, if you upgrade your motherboard later with a future socket that isn’t supported, Noctua will send you the required hardware to mount for shipping costs only.
If this is the amount you’re looking to spend on a cooler, I really think there isn’t a better option and I would recommend it to absolutely anyone.
Ich hatte zuvor den Stock Intel khler und meine CPU i7 8.gen ist schon ca nach 10min auf 90 Grad gelaufen. Wenn meine Gehuselfter nicht auf max gedreht haben lief die cpu auf ca 94 grad. Hatte sogar NT-H1 WLP draufgehabt. Unfassbar wie schlecht der Stock Intel Khler ist.

This Noctua was, in many ways, a splurge for me. I bought this as a replacement for the ThermalRight Le Grand Macho RT air cooler (what a fantastic name).
My ThermalRight cooler still works great, but is also one of the largest air coolers on the market. It’s size meant that I had to repaste the CPU every time I changed the first NVME SSD in my system.
Given its smaller size, it’s no surprise the NH-U12S has a lower quoted TDP than many popular air coolers, yet it still handles my 8700K well, even with a small overclock.
I bought the Noctua kit that adds a second fan. It doesn’t make a massive difference to temperatures, but still worth buying if you have room in your case.
Even with the additional fan, the U12S is much easier to worth with. On my motherboard, it gave me more room at the top of the case and around my SSD and GPU. This means I can now change the SSD easily.
The installation process is straight forward. The included guide walks you through every step. If you follow that to a T, you won’t have any problems.
Yes, Noctuas top of the range coolers do offer better cooling, but they’re also a lot larger. There’s a lot to be said about going for a smaller cooler that still gets the job done.

Purtroppo mi abbandonato il mio dissipatore a liquido “coolermaster masterliquid 120″… E ho dovuto cercare in fretta e furia un nuovo dissipatore; non avendo un budget di spesa alto, non avrei saputo dove andare a parare.
Per fortuna noctua aveva appena rilasciato sul mercato questo dissipatore e cos l’ho comprato subito visto il prezzo.
Beh signore e signori che dire…tanto di cappello, la casa austriaca purtroppo rimane imbattibile per quanto riguarda i dissipatori ad aria.
Ha un profilo bellissimo, le temperature sono decisamente ottime (parlo di un ryzen 7 2700x con tutti i core a 4.100Ghz 29C)

You could get away with something $10-$15 cheaper, however, this is just built well. The build quality and ease of installation (LG1700 compatible out of the box) make this a great cooler for i5 12400. Sometimes buying quality is better than saving a few bucks and having something not quite right.
for you you pay, excellent. Does the job a 150 or 200 dollar one would do. Dead silent too.
La mejor refrigeracin que he probado, se nota el trabajo puesto en crearlo, tanto en materiales, como en montaje, las instrucciones slo estn en ingls pero a pesar de ello son muy intuitivas.
En un i5 12400 me ha reducido entre 25 y 30 grados la temperatura de la cpu durante pruebas de estrs

Si estis buscando algo silencioso, que os vaya a durar muchos aos, y que mantenga bien las temperaturas de cualquier i5 o similares, este disipador cumple muy bien. La instalacin es muy sencilla, lo tengo en un 12400F y las temperaturas son muy muy buenas, ya casi en Junio, con una temperatura ambiente de 25C, la CPU se mantiene entre los 28 y 33C en tareas de Windows, y entre 47 y 55C en juegos que hacen bastante uso de la CPU, por lo que es excelente. Otro aspecto que miro mucho es el ruido, y este Redux es una tumba, llevo utilizando desde hace mas de 1 dcada muchos ventiladores y disipadores Noctua y por lo general, aunque no son los mas econmicos, merecen la pena. Quizs estticamente muchos de sus productos no son los mas vistosos (con ese color marrn), aunque este Redux es algo mas bonito y creo que Noctua ha hecho muy bien lanzando un producto de esta Gama.
Si tenis pensado un disipador para un i5 o similares para AMD, este Redux es muy recomendable, si en cambio tenis un i7, le vais a meter mucho OC y/o tenis una caja muy cerrada, posiblemente tambin os pueda valer, las temperaturas no sern tan optimas pero sin llegar a ser alarmantes, aunque hay mejores opciones, obviamente pagando mas.
Desde que mont mi primer pc con un noctua no he dejado de comprarlos, y he mirado otros disipadores pero siempre vuelvo a este porque me dan confianza ya que son de bajo sonido, buena calidad y funcionan muy bien. Este no tiene nada que envidiar a sus hermanos mayores o ms caros.

Decid comprar este disipador puesto que el que tena instalado (stock AMD), no era capaz de enfriar mi ryzen 7 3700x inclusive sin los paneles laterales en el gabinete y con el aire acondicionado encendido. Pase de tener 95c IDLE a 42.3C usando el disipador de Noctua. Sumamente recomendable, fue super fcil de instalar.

Very stylish, easy to use with AM4. Was using a stock cooler on 3800X for way too long so I got this. It did great, but then I upgraded to 5900X. Still no issues. No blender or otherwise but I do some light video editing and other rendering as well as gaming.
I have an Intel I7-12700k that is overclocked and adding the second fan keeps the temps more than under control. The Noctua CPU fan is quiet and efficient. This is so much better than having an AIO stuffed in the case.

Tena la oportunidad de comprarlo en Amazon USA o pedirlo en Amazon Mx, pero haciendo la conversin no era mucho la diferencia en precio, as que lo ped en Mxico. Lleg un da antes y sin problemas.
Moves a lot of air efficiently and quietly, especially with the 2nd fan added on. The 2 bolt bracket is kinda odd considering the size and weight of the cooler but only time will tell if there’s an issue down the road.
Ich bin auf ganzer Linie begeistert. Mein i7-12700 bleibt khl und der Lfter ist fast unhrbar.
Ich hatte zunchst den DH14, hab dann jedoch erfahren dass laut Noctua der 12er auch reichen sollte, also wollte ich es probieren. Mit Erfolg! Selbst wenn ich bis prime95 die CPU ber 200W bringe bleibt sie unter 65C und der Lfter angenehm leise. Die RTX3070FE ist in fast allen Szenarios lauter.
Vor dem Noctua habe ich noch einen bequiet 14er Lfter im Gehuse, dahinter einen Corsair 12er,so kommt ein guter Airflow zustande.
Das redux-Design finde ich sogar angenehmer als das sonst recht auffllige Design von Noctua. Ich mag es schlicht.
Ich kann mir nicht vorstellen, einen teureren Lfter zu kaufen. Klare Empfehlung.
Die Montage war sehr leicht, gut beschrieben und selbst fr die damals neue 12. Generation von Intel war alles dabei. Wrmeleitpaste ist bereits auf dem Khlkrper und wird nicht mehr bentigt.
Utilis des fins musicales (MAO), mon processeur connu pour chauffer plus que de raison (I5 12600K) avait besoin d’un systme de refroidissement convenable ! Et bah franchement foncez je suis allergique au watercooling (prix, montage, etc) et ce systme vous apportera entire satisfaction !
Stock cooler is garbage. CPU would reach 100C. With this cooler it stays below 63 even when torture tested with AVX 512 and power limits removed. A bit pricey but worth it.
This CPU Cooler is hard to beat in the price versus quality category. If Noctua ever puts some of this energy into rgb and case construction, they are going to take a bit part of the market.
Very good quality cooler by Noctua, perfect for my new i5 11400 build. Allows it to boost to maximum speed on heavy loads and is still super quiet. Only slight quibble is the redesign of it backplate. Far more fidly and time consuming to assemble especially for novice builders, Noctua lost points on that. Overall though very solid component for the price point.
Follow the directions to a tee. My go-to for almost all builds. Has thermal paste already on it but add a little drop of thermal grizzly kryonaut and be ready to be blown away. Great value. Noise level also great.
Very easy to install with clear instructions. Great value for the price. It’s practically silent from my experience so far. I switched it from an old fan that originally came with my Core i7, and wasn’t doing a great job at keeping it cool, and wasn’t always quiet. On idle, I went from about 42C to 32C, and during gaming, from 65-75C to about 50C. I just wish I had gotten a better fan a long time ago.
Sistema di raffreddamento molto grande ed ingombrante, verificare bene gli spazi e la scheda madre, qualche difficolt nel fissaggio ventole per ora molto silenziose. Buona l’ efficenza con unostress test di 30 minuti la temperatura della cpu rimasta molto stabile

I like that there were stands for each motherboard. It was easy to put it on, had very nice thermal paste included, brought my ryzen 5600x temps from 85c to 60c whilst staying really quiet. Great item 100% recommend.
I was looking forward to getting some better airflow. When I was turned to the Noctua, i was a little skeptical in the price, but when I actually got it and found out about the lifetime warrenty as well as any upgrades for mounting kits will be sent to you, I was sold. This thing is super quiet, a little to big for my mid tower case, but it works and the pc stays at low temps with the fan on and I can’t even hear it. The OEM fans on my case are louder than the bigger noctua fan. Easy install and great instructions.
Noctua, as most of PC enthusiast know is the go to brand for quality cooler. Over time, I’ve simply skip most over brands, and buy Noctua when it comes to cpu cooling fans. This one is a great value at 50, and for what it does, no complaints.

About 200% easier to install than the classic Hyper 212. Outperforms my previous AIO, compatible with LGA 1700 out-of-box. Extremely good value. Outperforming the stock cooler on my i5 12400 by about 35 degrees.

Installation was simple and it easily cleared my Crucial Ballistix RAM with heat spreaders.
I was able to overclock i5 12600K to 4.8GHz at 1.118V (even under avx load) with power consumption of 150-160W and core temperatures below 90 degrees Celsius. Which I consider a good result for a $50 cooler.
No knock to intels stock cooler as I actually was surprised that it was decent but this noctua Nh-u12s redux cooler is worth the upgrade! My average idle temps went from 45 degrees down to around 27- 29 degrees Celsius and a low of 24 with the new cooler. I’m running an i5-12400 (lga1700) at stock.
– as far as noise goes I was expecting it to be super quiet but I feel it is similar to the intel fan.

Used this product on a recent build. Excellent instructions and easy install, functions very well. Only negative is that on an ASUS TUF Gaming Z690-PLUS WIFI D4 the fan blocks the first RAM bay.

I bought this because I was hitting peak temperatures of 82c on my Ryzen 5 5600x under full load with the stock cooler on stock bios config for the cpu.
I chose this unit because I gad a great experience previously with the NH-u12P on my old core i7 920 and decided to stick to a brand I know even if it cost a bit more than the competing deepcool and cooler master units. I definitely don’t regret this decision. Core Tempuratures with the Noctua dropped to 55c under full load. A pretty substantial drop. As a bonus, the better thermals allow the CPU to boost better: my Cinebench scores went up from 10600 to 11200.
Pros:
-Easy and very solid installation/mounting process and overall setup. Easily the best in the business.
-Quieter than the stock Wraith cooler even at full fan speed. The Noctua fan doesn’t even end up spinning at max rpm under the stock fan speed curve of the motherboard and temps are still excellent.
-27c temp drop for my own personal setup under full load.
-Noctua build quality and performance for a more reasonable price.
Cons:
-Still expensive compared to the Deepcool Gammaxx 400 and Cooler Master Hyper 212 for likely similar performance. You definitely pay premium for the better mounting system and brand recognition.
-The redux fan is quiet but still noisier and not as efficient as the regular Noctua fans.
I don’t really want to use AIO’s so i bought this cooler. It’s pretty good, temperatures on my i5-12600k don’t go above 60c and i’m playing on 2K Max Settings every game.

Noctua NH-U12S redux, with the intel 10700K cpu, it runs between 55 – 65 degrees Celsius at 100% load, continuous! The i7 stock cpu cooler ran at 90 -100 degrees Celsius at 100% load, and yes I tired applying more thermal paste, it did not help.
Before mounting the Noctua cpu cooler, I added one drop of thermal paste, even though the cooler already had some, so maybe that helped, because I didn’t read any other reviews saying it was 35 degrees cooler, all said 20-25. I also have a full ATX case with good airflow, but just 1 in fan and 1 out fan.
I previously had intels basic cpu cooler that came with my 10th gen i7 and was running into thermal throttling issues. Bought this at a great price and I was a bit scared to install it because I dont work on PCs very often. This came with pre applied thermal paste and very clear instructions so it was very easy. Theres plenty of video guides online as well. I run many CPU intensive games and have not had a single problem with thermal throttling since installing this.
Ordered on Nov 29th 2021 and got it on Dec 1st 2021(not a prime member). No LGA1700 upgrade kit included. All you need to do is, go to Noctua website and fill the form(make sure you find the right form for LGA1700 kit). NM-i17xx-MP78 is what you need for this heatsink. They also need you to provide the proof of purchase of NH-U12S redux, and LGA1700 CPU or LGA1700 motherboard. It took over 2 weeks to ship from Austria to Vancouver. Free of charge.
Once you got the upgrade kit, installation is easy. Just follow the instruction of their Youtube tutorial.
Since this heatsink was designed for LGA1200 and older CPU, the heatsink dimension(the contact part to cpu) is slightly smaller than the latest intel 12th gen i5-12600k. The size of heatsink is about 3.5 x 3.5cm(the contact part to CPU). The long side of i5-12600k cpu is 3.9cm. After the new system boot up and launch the HWiNFO64, what a relief. The temperature is just fine. It’s around 25-27C idle most of the time.
You may google the review of NH-U12S redux. It’s only one or a few degree higher than those much more expensive/intimidating cooler heatsink. It fits to my MSI PRO Z690-A WIFI DDR4 and old case Arc Midi R2 very well. You can check your PC case compatibility at Noctua website as well.

PS: if you have M.2 SSD and want to put it to the slot below the CPU, install it first before you put the heatsink on. I’m still using my 2 y/o Samsung 860 EVO 1TB as OS drive(plus 4 more SATAs). and I’m not sure if you need to remove the heatsink if you wanna install the M.2 later. It’s very close. Some M.2 drive w heatsink is big, the heatsink may be in its way.
Acquistato per la mia nuova build, volevo optare per il NH-U12S chromax black sempre di Noctua, ma nonostante sapessi bene essere un pelo sopra a questo NH-U12S redux ho scelto quest’ultimo per una questione estetica e d’impatto all’interno del case.
Noctua una garanzia e si cade sempre in piedi, difatti il dissipatore molto funzionale e anche a bassi regimi riesce a mantenere il processore a temperature basse.
Really nice build quality and comes pre assembled with the best looking thermal paste. Seriously, the honeycomb pattern is showing off. Easy to install with 2 people, harder by yourself. My 5600x now idles in mid 30s and the fan is extremely quiet.
If you need instant cooling, buy this cooler.
My Previous temps with an AIO, as I booted, hit 95~99 Celcius. It was obviously faulty. But after getting this Air cooler. Bruh. What a sigh of relief after installing it and returnijg my PC to it’s original/default settings (in the Bios) (just to see if that would’ve caused an issue). But no.
This is a major Go from me. Perfect product. I might even buy another fan for the fun of it.

I am currently running at 38 C idle and pushing up to 80~85 C full load.
Chip: AMD Ryzen 7 3700x.
After a bit of research and some previous experience with this brand decided to upgrade from a Cooler Master Hyper 212 after upgrading from a 2700x to a 5800x. Mounting was monumentally easier, only needing to dig out the backplate to my motherboard. PC doesn’t see a ton of use but seeing idle temps between the high 30s to low 40s.
Used this same cooler on my brother’s PC, i7 6700K. Came from a AIO cooler with a bad pump to this, immediately noticed an improvement in temperatures and the PC itself ran much faster.
Tolle CPU Khlung mit einem richtig leisen Noctua Lfter. Habe jetzt geringere Geruschpegel, als mit meiner alten Wasserkhlung. Installation war recht einfach, da gut beschriebene Anleitung dabei war.
Great CPU cooler temps now about 19c lower under load, but i like Noctua support more i emailed on xmas day asking how to get extra fan clips and now its 5 days later and clips arriving tomorrow thats amazing.
Das ding ist zwar gro aber sehr leise und man kann auch noch einen 2ten ventilator anbringen .Das ding hlt mein CPU sehr Khl besser als der oroginale von Intel.
El fan Redux se ve sencillo, pero es efectivo y silencioso.

Contras) No trae jeringa de pasta por separado, solo la que viene en la base de el disipador. asi que si no tienes pasta de repuesto; instlalo bien al primer intento.
No trae los ganchos para colocar un segundo Fan (aunque no es necesario ya que solo bajaria unos cuantos grados segun algunas reviews, a veces la estetica manda).
No trae la plaquita metlica adhesiva con el logo de Noctua para adornar tu case o tu cuaderno.
No duden en comprarlo, se ve sencillo pero cumple con la calidad de Noctua.
While the fitting is legendry Noctua, the performance is not. In fact my cooler master 212 evo black gave the same temps for a lot less. The fan can be noisy, in fact I swapped it out for the CM 212 fan after exchanging the spring clips. Is it worth 10 more than the 212 black? For the ease of fitting probably, but get a decent fan.
Had to order this because the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black RGB edition cooler I ordered, didn’t come with the bracket for LGA 1700 CPUs. Turned out to be a great decision, this cools my i5 12600kf perfectly, idle temperature is just below 30 degrees Celsius on average and with some light gaming the max it’s reaching is 50 degrees Celsius. I’m not overclocking the CPU though, so bear that in mind.
Installation was incredibly easy, it was my first time building a PC, but the instructions were really easy to follow.

Comprato per sostiuire quello stock del processore. I risultati sono davvero ottimi per quel che mi riguarda ora il processore anche sotto sforzo importante mi rimane efficente e con ottime temperature. Unica cosa controllare bene le dimensioni prima di aquistarlo.

Much better than the stock fan, this one is quiet I have never had an issue with it on this pc. It is quiet large though so make sure you have enough space.

Idle temperatures dropped from 50C to 29-30C. I don’t game too much these days but even a not very intensive game such as Civilization 6 was bringing temps up to 85C. Now its 48-50. Excellent cooler, easy to install.

CPU temperature dropped by 20 degrees at full load, compared with stock cooler. If you are thinking about getting this cooler, just do it. Noctua delivers, as usual.
Very happy with my NH-U12S Redux, stays reasonably quite even under extended 100% load.
It doesn’t really offer me any performance benefits with my (admittedly slightly aging) AMD ryzen 1600 over the stock cooler. However, it is much quieter so if you want something that is quiet, will look much better through the window in your PC, and most importantly, aren’t opposed to spending the extra money, then this is an excellent cooler!
Not all that easy to fit, but cools powerful amd 5950x without making too much noise.
premium versions of these coolers (for other computers) and the difference between the Redux and Premium versions is quite large when it comes to quality. Also there are ZERO accessories inside the box (it states that before you buy). The redux version also has less heat pipes and the ones you get are not soldered. (the premium heat pipes are). The fan clips for this Redux cooler are different also. They’re not the springy flexible type, but are more rigid, so not easy to put on or take off (as are the premium) It could be due to the fin spacing on the Redux version of this cooler too, but they’re definitely harder to put on and line up. All in all this Redux version is fine, but it should be much cheaper (in my opinion). I say that as the savings over the Premium, are just not enough to validate the small price reduction. (and the Premium isn’t cheaper). This Redux Cooler is fine, it works and keeps the CPU cool (as its intended to do) but its not high end quality. You decided if a mere few dollars in savings is worth the quality reduction and no accessories? In my opinion I’d say buy the premium and get the better product. So No more Redux purchases for me, not unless they drop the price substantially. Noctua are all great products though and one of the best out there.
instructions need to be updated though was easy to install. The back plat and screws where replaced with a backplate with nuts and bolts.
The fans very silent and the cooling performance is great.
I’m currently using this product for an replacement for my broken water cooling.
I am planning to keep this product for a back for in case my water cooling fails in the future.

Mi Ryzen 5 2600 era con Wraith Stealth cooler y, cuando he utilizado 100% de CPU, el sistema va a overheating en unos minutos.
Cuando he instalado U12S Redux, no poda comprender si cooler funciona o no totalmente silencioso bajo de 10 minutos de Linx stress test!
Temperatura bajo de stress test es 55 C!

Noctua’s secufirm mount is incredibly easy on am4 motherboards, didn’t have to mess around with motherboard backplates & taking computer halfway apart. It was an easy 5 minute job to install.
Very good for my 5600x, Overclocked it and cpu doesn’t top 50c, very impressed for it being an air coole
Reasonably priced, cool, quiet… probably the best bang for the buck. Worked great for my Ryzen 5600x and keeps CPU from throttling much better than stock cooler. Extremely easy to install. Highly recommended.
I bought this to replace a water cooler when I swapped out the motherboard and moved the original to a different computer. I had already mounted the old motherboard in the case and connected things up when I came to the cooler. There already was a mounting plate installed from the old water cooler..
The printed instructions were graphical only and I needed to place in a new base on the underside of the m/b which was inaccessible when in position. I had to remove the m/b from the case to complete. This wa exacerbated by the diagram of the base constuction showing the wrong components.
It does cool effectively however.

Fits the B450 Tomahawk motherboard and cpu fine, with clearance over the memory (check your tower case is going to have enough space – mine clears the interior of the outer case side by about 0.5cm!), using the supplied attachments and instructions that came with the cooler. It was a breeze to fit, though as I had removed the CPU to clean off old thermal paste, I had to re-enter bios and re-do most of my settings (e.g. memory clock speed) after installing. So as precaution, you can note your settings prior to installation (not the fan’s fault).
While the weather isn’t as hot at present so can’t provide a direct comparison, the CPU isn’t even hitting 55 under load at present (the room is currently only mid 20’s). Will add extra to review if the air temp hits the 30’s over summer, so there’s a comparison with the stock it replaced – but given I’m able to adjust fan speeds at various temps via the bios menu on boot (I don’t recall being able to do so with the stock, but maybe I never noticed), I’m confident it’ll be a huge improvement from the toasty temps the stock cooler reached.
However, at the 40 odd quid it cost, worthy investment to keep electronics in more friendly temperature ranges. It’s also quieter too.
This cooler is excellent value for money, but very much not ‘budget’. I use it to cool a 5950X running overclocked at 4.4GHz. I bought this cooler because my case wasn’t big enough for the bigger U15 cooler, but in retrospect I didn’t need one anyway! This cooler has excellent performance.
You may have to adjust your BIOS settings to get it running as quietly as it should be — the fan is audible when spun up to higher speeds, but it really isn’t necessary. I adjusted the speed curve in my BIOS and found that I could stay under 70C during 32-thread compilation jobs without letting the fan get noisy.
The fins on the heatsink bend very easily, and during installation it is necessary to remove and re-attach the fan. I don’t think bending them a little is affecting perfomance, but it’s a niggle. The fan ought to be shipped un-attached, so that you only have to clip it on once, rather than having to remove then reattach.

I bought this item with an additional fan (Noctua NA-FK1 redux) to use for a new PC build, having checked that it was compatible with both my motherboard and processor… what I hadn’t factored in was the height of the item (this has a 120mm fan). Unfortunately, it was too big for my standard sized microATX case. Fortunately, I was able to return the item for a full refund and instead, purchased a slightly smaller CPU cooler (Noctua NH-U9S), which provides more than adequate cooling for my purposes. I’d highly recommend that you visit Noctua’s website as they have full compatibility lists for processors, motherboards and cases! Just a quick point to note, this is part of Noctua’s ‘redux’ range, which is slightly cheaper than their premium products, but still more than up to the job.

Easy to fit even in the case with top fans fitted and has dropped my temps on both the cpu and motherboard by around 20C. There’s plenty of clearance for RAM and graphics cards.
ispetto al dissipatore stock (ho un ryzen 5 2600) le temperature di sono abbassate di circa 10 in idle, e di 20 o pi in game, ora la cpu non supera i 50 (prove fatte a parit di gioco, e con temperatura ambientale molto simile). in pi meno rumoroso, direi decisamente soddisfatto. calza perfettamente nel mio case q300l, fosse stato pi alto di 1-2mm non ci sarebbe stato.
Noctua steht in der PC-Welt vor allem fr eines: kompromisslose Leistung und makellose Qualitt. Bis dato waren die Jungs und Mdels aus sterreich aber nicht unbedingt fr ihre budgetfreundlichen Khler bekannt.
Das soll nun also die Redux Serie ndern. Also habe ich mir die, trotz eigentlich keinem Bedarf, ins Haus geholt. Das Teil werkelt in einem itx build im berhmten NR 200 und khlt einen r5 3600x.
Die Montage war, wie bei Noctua nicht anders zu erwarten, ein Kinderspiel. Dem preislichen Kahlschlag ist dabei lediglich der sonst beiliegende Schraubenzieher und die Tube Wrmeleitpaste zum Opfer gefallen. Ebenso der Y-Connector und Klammern fr einen zweiten Lfter.
Diese sind nun separat zu erwerben, sollte man wirklich mehr Khlleistung brauchen. Wird in der Realitt wohl erst ab i9 oder r9 wirklich ntig, ist aber eine Option.
Anyway, Einbau einfach, Qualitt stimmt. Zum Vorbild NH U 12S unterscheidet sich der Redux durch eine fehlende Heatpipe und etwas andere Verltung selbiger an der Base Plate. Das drckt den Preis ebenso, wie das fehlende Zubehr, tut der Leistung aber kaum einen Abbruch. Zu meinem u 12s habe ich Unterschiede um die 3 (idle) bis 7 (Volllast, prime 95, 100% auf allen zwlf Threads) festgestellt. Das ist schon richtig stark.
Es ist sicher nicht der billigste 120mm Khler, den man finden kann, aber in meinen Augen auf jeden Fall der Beste in dem Preisbereich. Gerne mehr Redux, Noctua. Ich werde zwar wieder unntig viele Khler zu Hause rumliegen haben, aber wenn ihr dafr weiter solche Produkte macht, nehme ich das in Kauf.
This fit perfectly in a Fractal Meshify C MicroATX case. Easy to install on an AM4 socket with pre-applied thermal paste, and it reduced CPU temps under a full stress-testing load from around 83 celsius to barely breaking 70 (Ryzen 5 3600, running at around 4.0-4.2GHz when boosted. From videos I’ve seen, this performace matches even the more expensive non-redux version. The fan is nearly silent on day-to-day gaming load, and with the right fan curve, barely even needs to go up to full power (where it will be as loud as any other CPU cooler in this price bracket, but will definitely shift some air!).
Noctua are one of the most respected brands in computer cooling for very good reason – they are excellently made, have what is widely regarded as the best mounting system in the industry, and thier products deliver on performance. I have also heard thier custoomer support is excellent, not that I’ve needed it. Apparently, if you upgrade your motherboard later with a future socket that isn’t supported, Noctua will send you the required hardware to mount for shipping costs only.
If this is the amount you’re looking to spend on a cooler, I really think there isn’t a better option and I would recommend it to absolutely anyone.
Ich hatte zuvor den Stock Intel khler und meine CPU i7 8.gen ist schon ca nach 10min auf 90 Grad gelaufen. Wenn meine Gehuselfter nicht auf max gedreht haben lief die cpu auf ca 94 grad. Hatte sogar NT-H1 WLP draufgehabt. Unfassbar wie schlecht der Stock Intel Khler ist.

Die Temperaturen sind nach intensiven CPU Benchmarktest auf maximum 61 grad gewesen!
Zudem ist der Lfter nicht zu hren. Meine HDD ist das einzige was ich in meinem System hre!

My ThermalRight cooler still works great, but is also one of the largest air coolers on the market. It’s size meant that I had to repaste the CPU every time I changed the first NVME SSD in my system.
Given its smaller size, it’s no surprise the NH-U12S has a lower quoted TDP than many popular air coolers, yet it still handles my 8700K well, even with a small overclock.
I bought the Noctua kit that adds a second fan. It doesn’t make a massive difference to temperatures, but still worth buying if you have room in your case.
Even with the additional fan, the U12S is much easier to worth with. On my motherboard, it gave me more room at the top of the case and around my SSD and GPU. This means I can now change the SSD easily.
The installation process is straight forward. The included guide walks you through every step. If you follow that to a T, you won’t have any problems.
Yes, Noctuas top of the range coolers do offer better cooling, but they’re also a lot larger. There’s a lot to be said about going for a smaller cooler that still gets the job done.

Ha un profilo bellissimo, le temperature sono decisamente ottime (parlo di un ryzen 7 2700x con tutti i core a 4.100Ghz 29C)
In game mantiene in maniera eccellente i 45/50 C…best buy 2021? Secondo me si.
Silenzioso e robusto, per il momento non faccio overclok e nemmeno gaming, per cui non sto nemmeno sfruttando le sue potenzialit, ha la pasta termica pre-applicata ed il montaggio superfacile!
