Question 1: Will this work with the Reolink NVR or system?
Answer: Yes, it does. Reolink NVRs with the hardware version of N2MB02/H3MB18/N3MB01 support the smart detection/playback for the RLC-820A. You can verify the compatibility via the System Information of the NVR. You could live view this camera on your Reolink NVR with the hardware version of H3MB02 or H3MB16 under the latest firmware version.
Question 2: What is the function of the camera’s PoE?
Answer: Power over Ethernet (PoE) is an advanced technology that embeds a PoE module inside the camera, allowing you to use a network cable for video and power transmission without using a power adapter.
for years i have ran Foscam (9 cameras), however as they were all 720p, 6-7 years old and starting to rust though time for an upgrade now 1080/4K have come down in price. I looked at Foscam but they seemed really expensive and wanted to charge extra for face, car, AI, etc detection. i looked at various brands but Reolink kept coming up and the more i reviewed the features Vs cost and quality of the build, image and audio it seemed a no brainer to give them a try. Setup was super easy in both the Reolink app and in Surveillance station (are supported by Synology which i use as my CCTV recording device). picture quality at day and night is fantastic, having audio is a bonus and also identifies if it has picked up a person or vehicle and sends push notifications…. all my outdoor cameras are now Reolink in different guises with inside remaining Foscam…. for now!
Found tai a great camera and easy to use, installation was a bit complex when matching it to a synology server to capture images, but got there in the end.
Far exceeded my expectations, for the money, good solid built camera, well pleased with day and night picture quality and dashboard software set up on my desktop computer, no problems downloading software. Also purchase from Amazon, TP-link POE injector adapter, Reolink cat5 cable, Samsung EVO select 250gb micro card, all for a little over a hundred pounds, installed by me (DIYer), so no labour costs.
So weit ist alles gut einstellbar und zu gebrauchen.
Die bewegungserkennung ist leicht verzgert aber noch ok.

Hatte voher die Reolink Argus Eco+ und die war schlecht. Mit der hier bin ich echt zufrieden. Die Aufnahme startet ca 10-20 sekunden bevor man die Person berhaupt sieht. Auch kann man Bereiche frei zeichnen wo die Kamera nicht reagieren soll. Die Stromversorgung ber das Lan Kabel funktioniert einwandfrei. Vorausgesetzt man hat einen Poe Injector zwischengeschaltet.
Nachtrag: 10 Tage nach Installation hat sich die Kamera aufgehngt. Musste einmal Reset machen und alles neu einstellen.
I bought this assuming I could just plug it into my Hikvision NVR, it plugs in okay but it’s not recognised by the NVR so I’ve bought a POE, the link for this is :-
Now the camera is plugged into this and I can access it and set it up from my web browser on my computer, once the camera is set up I use the reolink app on my phone, this will receive alerts (if you have set it up for alerts) and you can view live footage or recorded footage from your mobile phone.
It can be set up to email you and I’ll just say here that it was a pain in the rear to set up but only because it uses a weird password method, but don’t be put off by this as there is a very good youtube video by TDCatTech that is so simple to follow, even I did it the first time, now I have the camera up and running and all is well, the picture quality is great and I couldn’t believe how much sound this thing picks up through that tiny hole for the microphone, for a camera this size and price I’m well and truly surprised.

Cam hngt bei uns ber POE unterm Dach und berwacht den Garten. Bildqualitt ist sehr gut und auch in der Nacht. Bezglich Bewegungserkennung schlgt sie halt immer Alam falls eingestellt. Dieses muss man halt entweder von der Sensibilitt her einstellen das sie nicht mehr so schnell anschlgt was bei mir aber dazu gefhrt hat das viele Sachen nicht erkannt werden besonders Tiere. Hab aktuell nur die Haustiererkennung ( Beta) und Personen Erkennung aktiv das funktioniert sehr gut. Eventuell wird das mit der Bewegungserkennung noch in einem Update angepass
The image quality both day and night is fantastic, even when compared to my old Ubiquiti G3 Bullet.
I have been using this camera with Synology Surveillance Station so can’t comment on a lot of the camera’s features, however person/pet detection is reliable and privacy masking is great. The web UI feels a little dated and doesn’t work well on mobile but has everything you need when accessed from a desktop browser.
The build quality of the camera is great with almost everything being made from metal. Unsure why they include a 1m ethernet cable as nobody will be using this so feels like a complete waste.
Bought this to replace an old cheaper camera that had security vulnerabilities. The quality is excellent and motion detection is very flexible. Most importantly, the camera gets regular firmware updates and is supported well by Reolink. It received pet detection in a recent update which works great.
Even still, as with other IoT devices I don’t allow it to access the internet and use a VPN to access it remotely.
The motion detection on this is excellent, to the point where I can now trust it to only record detected people & animals. That gets rid of all the other rubbish my old camera used to record (bushes moving in the wind, spider webs, rain etc). Now there’s only a few videos to review in the morning.
It can easily be set up to FTP videos, so no need to worry about someone taking the camera to destroy recordings. You can also choose to only upload detected people instead of everything else.
The detection zone can be changed to avoid detecting movement say on a public path. You can also specify how big an object should be before the detection kicks in, e.g. you can tell it to ignore small cars that are in the distance. You can grey out certain areas too, such as next door if part of the view includes another house.
It has a decent app for Android and also Windows (haven’t tried the iOS app), you can also use a browser but the interface isn’t as good as the apps.
One thing minor thing to note is that if you lower the recording resolution it crops the middle of the view instead of showing the entire thing – although you’re buying a 4K camera so not much point reducing the resolution. So just be aware that you may need more storage than normal.
Facilissima da installare, collegata a una porta poe non c’ bisogno di essere alimentata, manca un alimentatore esterno, avrebbero potuto quantomeno inserire un cavetto per la presa 12 volt. Libretto di istruzioni minimale.
In genere le telecamere all’aperto hanno il grosso problema di dare numerosi falsi positivi sui rilevamenti, non importa quanto si regoli la sensibilit: se troppo alta prende le ombre degli alberi sottovento, se troppo bassa non rileva nulla.
Finalmente questa Reolink permette di avere un migliore controllo: si possono gestire separatamente gli allarmi generici, da quelli di persone, veicoli o animali domestici.
Funziona piuttosto bene, i falsi positivi sono calati drasticamente, anche se del lavoro di ottimizzazione a livello software sicuramente ancora da fare.
Questa la sesta Reolink che compro, ne acquister una settima per sostituirne una senza rilevamtento intelligente in una zona in cui ne ho bisogno.
Great to see Reolink providing local ways to interact with their devices (e.g. RTSP) and features such as FTP upload. PoE also simplifies setup significantly.

Consiglio di scaricare l’aggiornamento del firmware dal sito Reolink, nel mio caso migliorata la qualit delle registrazioni con scarsa luce e ha aggiunto diverse funzioni.
NB. Nella confezione non c’ l’alimentatore.
if you’re looking for a camera for detail and clear picture this is the one to get, it can pick up number plates great and has such good detail on faces too, the motion sensors are great and very sensitive but you can control and adjust the settings of the motion sensors to be way less, only thing i can say is in night vison mode can be hard to see number plates depending where the cars are parked the number plates reflection off the night vision makes it impossible to see as the number plate refection is bright, but if positioned right you can get a good clear picture of what they are, apart from that little snag its a great camera and i can highly recommend!
Having read reviews and articles on this camera I decided to buy and connect it to my home network with the aim of using Synology Surveillance Station to manage it which it claims supports many different cameras. It was easy to setup but I was getting a lot of pixelated videos and also parts of the screen were blocked out in green on all of the resolution settings apart from 640*360. Not much use for a security camera! I was expecting something better than that.
Researching this a bit more I wondered if somehow each motion activated video could be FTPd to the Synology NAS drive. Surely that’s what it’s doing already by connecting to my network and managing it in Surveillance Station? Anyway, the Youtube video ‘E1Zoom – How To Save Footage To Synology FTP Server’ shows you how to do it. Also, the Youtube video ‘Setting Up Email Notifications _ Reolink Cameras’ shows you how to configure the camera without using Synology Surveillance Station. All of this can be done by simply typing in the IP address of the camera in your browser. You don’t need to download any software. Just as well as all my hardware at home is Linux based.
I no longer have any issues as described above and now get high quality MP4 video files uploaded to my Synology NAS. The Reolink app is good too.
In summary, an excellent camera but only after a lot of time researching and tweaking which now provides very good results. Hope this helps anyone experiencing issues with setting up this camera.
Have been using Reolink for a few years, and have recommended them enough times. The picture quality is amazing, the AI detection works pretty well. The only slight let down is the night vision, but i normally pair these cameras with LED floodlights and minimise the usage of the nightvision and it works really well.
La telecamera molto ben costruita con materiali di qualit e lo si capisce immediatamente al tatto.
Aspetti positivi:
– Configurazione veloce e facile anche per chi non esperto.
– Visione (sia live che registrata) in 4K incredibile, la qualit delle immagini eccellente sia di giorno che di notte. Le registrazioni altrettanto. Io di notte le uso sfruttando l’illuminazione pubblica senza accendere i LED infrarossi… le immagini sono nitidissime. Attenzione che la visione in 4K “consuma” molti dati per cui consiglio vivamente di installare la telecamera avendo cura di usare un cavo Cat.5e (che supporta traffico dati fino a 1 Gb) che sia in puro rame per poter supportare l’alimentazione PoE. Un cavo CCA (alluminio rivestito di rame) infatti potrebbe deteriorarsi rapidamente, soprattutto su tratte un p pi lunghe, a causa della corrente che attraversa i conduttori per alimentare la telecamera.
– Possibilit di registrare anche solo su memoria SD senza per forza installare un NVR. Le registrazioni si possono poi vedere sia da smartphone che da PC.
– Microfono ottimo, le voci si sentono belle chiare e distinte.
Aspetti negativi:
– Si pu solo sentire tramite la telecamera ma NON si pu parlare.
– Il motion detection la cosa che meno mi piaciuta (anche se non una funzionalit che mi interessi pi di tanto): rileva tutto indistintamente: persone, veicoli, animali, alberi o piante che si muovono con il vento. Ho attivato l’esclusione dei veicoli, ma la telecamera registra comunque ogni macchina che passa anche abbassando molto il livello di sensibilit.
Un’ultima voce merita il servizio clienti (in inglese). Rispondono (via email) SEMPRE e in tempi brevi (al massimo il giorno dopo, dipende dal fuso orario), sono gentili e competenti e cercano in qualsiasi modo di aiutarti (avevo un problema di compatibilit dell’app Reolink con il mio smartphone Samsung e non mi hanno mollato fino a che non hanno risolto. Eccellenti!
In definitiva, la telecamera ha un ottimo rapporto qualit prezzo ed il servizio post-vendita veramente efficiente. 5 stelline meritatissime, mi ritengo pi che soddisfatto.
I use about 6 of these on different business sites for security and time-lapse footage. Reliable, simple installation, great wide angle picture, fantastic set of features and one of the better apps out there. Recommend.

The app is easy to use and set up aswell.
I just use it with an SD card installed with it recording every motion. Ethernet cable plugs straight in then goes into Poe switch then WiFi router.
Very clear image quality as it is in 4K.Didnot use poe cabling but just powered up normally and hey presto after verification of WiFi it was just easy to set it up .Happy with product, might replace other cctv in house.
Jetzt nach einigen Tagen der Nutzung und Anpassung aller Einstellungen, kann ich mich nur positiv zu dieser Kamera uern.
Die Videoqualitt ist schlichtweg beeindruckend und mit sehr hoher Detailschrfe.
Da ich bereits verschiedene Reolink Kameras mit 2 und 5 Megapixel besitze ist der Vergleich hiermit schon wirklich bemerkbar.
Am Anfang dachte ich, dass nur ein marginaler Unterschied zur 5 Mp Kamera besteht, aber wenn man dann etwas experimentiert, sieht man schon recht deutlich den Unterschied.
Einfach in die Landschaft gerichtet, bemerkt man den Unterschied zunchst nicht sofort, betrachtet man dann aber die Details, erkennt man schon Unterschiede. Bei der 5 Mp Kamera ist der Rasen eine grne Flche, aber bei dieser 4K erkennt man auch die Grashalme. Genau so ist das natrlich auch bei allen anderen Objekten im Sichtfeld.
Selbst ein Kfz Kennzeichen ist auf 10 Meter Distanz noch hervorragend lesbar.
Extrem bemerkbar ist dann aber der Unterschied beim zoomen, hier zeigen sich dann die Unterschiede mehr als deutlich und die 4K liefert noch ein anstndiges Bild, wo die 5 Mp bereits verpixelt ist.
Auch bei der Nachsicht zeigen sich deutliche Vorteile und das nicht nur bei der Bildschrfe, sondern auch bei der besseren Infrarot Ausleuchtung. Die Angaben in der Produktbeschreibung kann ich auf jeden Fall “fast” besttigen, bis ca. 25 Meter erkennt man noch Details, das ist dann aber auch die Grenze und danach wird das Bild unbrauchbar. Auf die beschriebenen 30 Meter sollte man sich also nicht verlassen!
Zugegeben, am Anfang habe ich mich mit den Alarmeinstellungen etwas schwer getan und irgendwie nur, keine Alarmauslsung oder dauerhafte Auslsung hinbekommen.
Hier muss man sich wirklich Zeit nehmen und geduldig sein. Am Ende habe ich es aber hinbekommen und die fr mich akzeptablen Einstellungen gefunden.
Das Ergebnis ist nicht hundertprozentig aber auf jeden Fall zufriedenstellend.
Die Einrichtung (wenn man das berhaupt so nennen darf) war an meinem Reolink NVR total simpel.
Einfach einstecken und die Kamera wurde sofort erkannt.
Aber auch die Einbindung als Einzelkamera ber PC und Handy ging denkbar einfach und unkompliziert.
Die Kamera selbst ist von Qualitt und Verarbeitung wirklich solide, stabil und ordentlich.
Das Ausrichten ist mit dem neuen Verschluss erheblich einfacher und komfortabler als bei den lteren Versionen mit der Inbus – Schraube.
Was sich noch verndert hat, sind die Lochabstnde beim Sockel, die sind hier ein wenig weiter auseinander als die bei der 411 – 5 Mp. Kamera.
Die 5 Mp (411) passt noch hervorragend auf den hier bei Amazon gekauften Sockel:
Bei dieser 4K passen leider nur 2 Lcher und ein Drittes muss selber gebohrt werden. Mit einem 4 mm Bohrer aber kein Problem. Ich habe zwei Fotos diesbezglich beigefgt und ich denke, dass sieht ganz ordentlich aus. Wer einen passenden Sockel sucht, wird momentan wohl nicht fndig, ich habe jedenfalls ausgiebig recherchiert und bis dato nicht gefunden.
Weitere technische Details erspare ich mir an dieser Stelle da die Produktbeschreibung wirklich aussagekrftig ist und auch den Tatsachen entspricht.
Ich bin auf jeden Fall vollstndig zufrieden, besser gesagt, beeindruckt von dieser Kamera und kann sie daher auch bedenkenlos empfehle
I purchased this camera on a deal and I am very happy with it.
If you buy this camera you are also going to need some of the following things
micro sd card
POE injector (I purchased the TP-link gigabit PoE Injector – TL-POE150S)
Longer ethernet cables than what’s in the box if the camera is routed far away from your router.
The POE camera is recommended to use via one ethernet cable to be powered up by the POE injector or switch directly so that there is no DC adapter included. If you would like to power it up via the DC adapter, the connector used for the camera is 5.5*2.1MM DC 12V/2A. You can search the specification above on Amazon to find a proper one if you don’t want to use POE but plugging an ethernet cable is the best method as you need to get the camera signal as this isn’t wireless.
Connected up to Poe switch worked straight away. Takes some time to understand stand the way they work especially the recording/ftp options. Not using a NVR instead recording to a computer no problems. The motion detection is a bit hit and miss as is the auto IR lights they seem to stay black and white even when it’s light. Overall the picture quality is great both day and night. The biggest problem is spiders due to the design they make webs in the corners and are attracted by the IR lights so you end up with a piece of web on the lens Constantly cleaning them have tried anti spider spray but they come back.
Brilliant. Want to get more. Certainly won’t need a standalone NVR recorder anymore. The SD card recording and intelligent motion detection is that good. Tge mobile app is also easier to use than its browser PC interface making downloading and finding motion clips very easy. No more triggers by wind in the trees or birds. Superb product.
Also have two RLC-410s setup to FTP to a Raspberry Pi. Had an issue with the RLC-810A FTPing to the RPi. Reolink support (Lori) were quick to respond and proved the Camara was OK by getting me to setup FTP to my PC. I noted that the PC application (which had good visable diagnostics) was prepending the user home directory to the Camera FTP “upload directory”. Turns out the FTP data on the RPi was in directory home/pi/home/pi/ftp, so different to the RLC-410 where you inclue the user home directory in the FTP “upload directory”.
For the Raspberry Pi I have setup to boot from USB mass storage as I was hitting a 64Gbit storage ceiling when booting from the 64Gbit microSD card even though data was going to the USB drive.
Fantastic quality camera but the app just doesn’t work for me. Strangely works better on android than ios, it’s normally the other way around for me. I have to have the quality on its lowest on my ipad to work smoothly but on my Samsung phone I can knock it it up to its highest quality without any problem.
You can set it to notify you if it sees anything but this is where it all goes wrong for me, you can block an area out where you don’t want to get alarms from but this stops it recording in that area too, I want it to record in these areas but not to send me a message every time it sees a car ( I live on a busy road) The app needs a lot of work. I love the camera but I will not buy another one unless they sort the app out.
I purchased 3 RLC-810A’s to cover the rear of my property and one on the front from Amazon as well as a RLC-820A (dome) from Reolink directly as unfortunately Amazon do not stock this model. What lead me to these cameras is the YouTube channel ‘The Hook Up’ which has a very detailed video of what these are capable of.
THE RLC-820A uses the same hardware/software, its just in a different housing.
The delivery was prompt and well packaged, no damage. The packaging of the cameras was of great quality, everything you need including a short ethernet cable to test with, window sticker, mounting hardware and drill template.
I am using these cameras through BlueIris as an NVR so most of my image detection is managed through there and as such I do not have an experience using the onboard camera recording to SD card or Reolink’s software.
The cameras are capable of 25fps at 4K on a mainstream and 15fps on the substream which is of lesser quality. At first, the cameras would not reach full fps through BlueIris when utilising both the main and substreams through the same camera however after reaching out to Reolink’s support my ticket was quickly responded to by very helpful support staff who sent over a new firmware file to resolve the issue.
One thing to note is that the FPS of the stream will drop at night to around 15fps on the mainstream which is to be expected with most CCTV cameras, however the recordings are of great quality.
The onboard motion detection is not something I’ve explored too thoroughly but from the small tests I have performed it is extremely accurate throughout the day yet at night it can be a little too sensitive and picks up small bugs which fly past and reflect on the IR lights. The night mode is very clear and reaches far – one slight oversight on installing these cameras is that I have mounted the front camera near a bay window so the reflection from the tile blows out the quality of the image slightly but this is no fault of the camera and it is possible to tweak all of the settings in the camera itself.
These cameras have been installed for around a week now outside of the property but I had been testing them for a week prior to this so cannot speak about longevity but I do not doubt these cameras in any way shape or form and would recommend them to anybody who is looking for a quality camera at a great price compared to its competitors. The icing on the cake is Reolink’s support which give me full faith in the product knowing that any issues that arise, however technical they are there to help and assist.
If you’re thinking of buying this camera, do it. You won’t be disappointed.

Purchased to test out the new motion person and vehicle detection. Its a nice upgrade to the B800 with 5fps increase which makes a large difference as well as a SD card slot.
For the price its really good, faster cpu. the second sub stream is still low quality but overall works fine with blue iris
The motion detection is still not reliable and i would advise to NOT use this as you will miss out on a lot of motion events OR you will end up recording too many. Sticking with standard motion detection is the bes
The intelligent motion detection of people and vehicles works well during daylight hours but is poor giving masses of false alarms when the infra red is in use. It may be caused by rain which in the UK is frequent!
I’ve tried several cameras and all had issues so decided to try these Poe cameras. I have 3 set up and had an issue with 1 camera which Reolink customer services had sorted within an hour of making contact. Fantastic service especially during the pandemic. I get the odd false alert with heavy rain but overall delighted with this set up.

Reolink Support – this is very good. As I have limited knowledge of these cameras, I raised couple of questions with their support link. The response was excellent with prompt replies and very clear guidance. – Great camera and fantastic support.
I now have 3 RLC-810A PoE bullet cameras used for security around the house. The camera is simple to set up and has outstanding (4K) picture quality. The App (Android) is comprehensive, easy to set up and the new Windows client is similarly simple and easy to use.
There was a fault on one of the cameras and Reoling support replaced it within 48 hours, an example of the outstanding customer service which I have consistently had whenever I’ve asked for support help.

I ordered two cameras to replace my older models. Installation was easy through the mobile and desktop app. The picture is very clear during the day and night, it is easy to set up motion detection and recording.
I initially had problems with viewing the files and downloading them on my iMac. This was fed back to the support department that has been excellent in solving the problem and giving me an updated firmware that cured all the problems.
Again the customer support for this camera from Reolink has been 5 stars, this is why I always come back to them for more.
This is an excellent camera with superb image quality.. Compared to my 1080p Swann cameras the detail captured in 4K means you can digitally zoom the image to read number plates and see faces. The person and vehicle detection is a superb bonus which mitigated the large files that recording in 4K generated. I’ll be ordering some more cameras soon.
The camera is well made and gives a good image. I tested it connected by ethernet to a Reolink NVR using PoE and it worked first time. Using the Reolink app on a phone was fine and the camera displayed well on that. It seems to be a bit of an improvement over my old 5Mp Reolink camera.
For years Foscam have been my goto camera of choice …… not any more!
For the price the Reolink can’t be beat, more features, great build quality and fully local control that carries on working even if you block it entirely from the internet.
Brought this mainly capture cars or people on my drive rather than getting alerts for birds and squrrels all the time. I did have a problem when connecting to my reolink not as all the smart features did not so up as expected. After contacting reolink to report the problem Corrine from reolink customer services I was informed I just needed to update the firmware on my nvr. Once downloaded and installed in to nvr it all works great.
Overall fantastic day and night videos with 8mp of detail and great customer support from reolink.
Nice small compact camera, in a metal housing. Having set it up with POE it has excellent picture quality.
The cable has a thick moulded part where the different connectors separate, it would have been nice for this to be detachable for fitting the cable through walls as it means I have to drill a hole bigger than I would have liked.
The ethernet cable they supply is too short and therefore pointless.
I have yet to explore all the options for setting it up in the software so will update this review as I plan to use it with a Qnap Nas or Blue Iris.

Camera is good quality and very easy to configure. The Reolink app provides for a great deal of customisation. Make sure if you’re using a Reolink NVR to make sure it supports the new smart motion notifications, as it’s hardware specific and quite limited currently.
Previous models were great, I purchased one of the latest models that have been updated which is stunning quality and even better night vision so I’ve had to buy another one to replace my older models. Setup was super easy in both the Reolink app and in Surveillance station (are supported by Synology which i use as my CCTV recording device). picture quality at day and night is fantastic, having audio is a bonus and also identifies if it has picked up a person or vehicle and sends push notifications…. all my outdoor cameras are now Reolink in different guises with inside remaining Foscam…. for now!
Found tai a great camera and easy to use, installation was a bit complex when matching it to a synology server to capture images, but got there in the end.
Not yet fully integrated (waiting) for electrician) but up and running and very impressed by the quality of what it picks up.
Far exceeded my expectations, for the money, good solid built camera, well pleased with day and night picture quality and dashboard software set up on my desktop computer, no problems downloading software. Also purchase from Amazon, TP-link POE injector adapter, Reolink cat5 cable, Samsung EVO select 250gb micro card, all for a little over a hundred pounds, installed by me (DIYer), so no labour costs.
Sie hat eine gute Qualitt und kann mit unterschiedlichen Qualitten die Videos ansehen wenn man etwas sucht.
So weit ist alles gut einstellbar und zu gebrauchen.
Die bewegungserkennung ist leicht verzgert aber noch ok.

Hatte voher die Reolink Argus Eco+ und die war schlecht. Mit der hier bin ich echt zufrieden. Die Aufnahme startet ca 10-20 sekunden bevor man die Person berhaupt sieht. Auch kann man Bereiche frei zeichnen wo die Kamera nicht reagieren soll. Die Stromversorgung ber das Lan Kabel funktioniert einwandfrei. Vorausgesetzt man hat einen Poe Injector zwischengeschaltet.
Nachtrag: 10 Tage nach Installation hat sich die Kamera aufgehngt. Musste einmal Reset machen und alles neu einstellen.

Now the camera is plugged into this and I can access it and set it up from my web browser on my computer, once the camera is set up I use the reolink app on my phone, this will receive alerts (if you have set it up for alerts) and you can view live footage or recorded footage from your mobile phone.
It can be set up to email you and I’ll just say here that it was a pain in the rear to set up but only because it uses a weird password method, but don’t be put off by this as there is a very good youtube video by TDCatTech that is so simple to follow, even I did it the first time, now I have the camera up and running and all is well, the picture quality is great and I couldn’t believe how much sound this thing picks up through that tiny hole for the microphone, for a camera this size and price I’m well and truly surprised.

Cam hngt bei uns ber POE unterm Dach und berwacht den Garten. Bildqualitt ist sehr gut und auch in der Nacht. Bezglich Bewegungserkennung schlgt sie halt immer Alam falls eingestellt. Dieses muss man halt entweder von der Sensibilitt her einstellen das sie nicht mehr so schnell anschlgt was bei mir aber dazu gefhrt hat das viele Sachen nicht erkannt werden besonders Tiere. Hab aktuell nur die Haustiererkennung ( Beta) und Personen Erkennung aktiv das funktioniert sehr gut. Eventuell wird das mit der Bewegungserkennung noch in einem Update angepass
The image quality both day and night is fantastic, even when compared to my old Ubiquiti G3 Bullet.
I have been using this camera with Synology Surveillance Station so can’t comment on a lot of the camera’s features, however person/pet detection is reliable and privacy masking is great. The web UI feels a little dated and doesn’t work well on mobile but has everything you need when accessed from a desktop browser.
The build quality of the camera is great with almost everything being made from metal. Unsure why they include a 1m ethernet cable as nobody will be using this so feels like a complete waste.
Bought this to replace an old cheaper camera that had security vulnerabilities. The quality is excellent and motion detection is very flexible. Most importantly, the camera gets regular firmware updates and is supported well by Reolink. It received pet detection in a recent update which works great.
Even still, as with other IoT devices I don’t allow it to access the internet and use a VPN to access it remotely.
The motion detection on this is excellent, to the point where I can now trust it to only record detected people & animals. That gets rid of all the other rubbish my old camera used to record (bushes moving in the wind, spider webs, rain etc). Now there’s only a few videos to review in the morning.
It can easily be set up to FTP videos, so no need to worry about someone taking the camera to destroy recordings. You can also choose to only upload detected people instead of everything else.
The detection zone can be changed to avoid detecting movement say on a public path. You can also specify how big an object should be before the detection kicks in, e.g. you can tell it to ignore small cars that are in the distance. You can grey out certain areas too, such as next door if part of the view includes another house.
It has a decent app for Android and also Windows (haven’t tried the iOS app), you can also use a browser but the interface isn’t as good as the apps.
One thing minor thing to note is that if you lower the recording resolution it crops the middle of the view instead of showing the entire thing – although you’re buying a 4K camera so not much point reducing the resolution. So just be aware that you may need more storage than normal.

In genere le telecamere all’aperto hanno il grosso problema di dare numerosi falsi positivi sui rilevamenti, non importa quanto si regoli la sensibilit: se troppo alta prende le ombre degli alberi sottovento, se troppo bassa non rileva nulla.
Finalmente questa Reolink permette di avere un migliore controllo: si possono gestire separatamente gli allarmi generici, da quelli di persone, veicoli o animali domestici.
Funziona piuttosto bene, i falsi positivi sono calati drasticamente, anche se del lavoro di ottimizzazione a livello software sicuramente ancora da fare.
Questa la sesta Reolink che compro, ne acquister una settima per sostituirne una senza rilevamtento intelligente in una zona in cui ne ho bisogno.
Great to see Reolink providing local ways to interact with their devices (e.g. RTSP) and features such as FTP upload. PoE also simplifies setup significantly.

if you’re looking for a camera for detail and clear picture this is the one to get, it can pick up number plates great and has such good detail on faces too, the motion sensors are great and very sensitive but you can control and adjust the settings of the motion sensors to be way less, only thing i can say is in night vison mode can be hard to see number plates depending where the cars are parked the number plates reflection off the night vision makes it impossible to see as the number plate refection is bright, but if positioned right you can get a good clear picture of what they are, apart from that little snag its a great camera and i can highly recommend!
Having read reviews and articles on this camera I decided to buy and connect it to my home network with the aim of using Synology Surveillance Station to manage it which it claims supports many different cameras. It was easy to setup but I was getting a lot of pixelated videos and also parts of the screen were blocked out in green on all of the resolution settings apart from 640*360. Not much use for a security camera! I was expecting something better than that.
Researching this a bit more I wondered if somehow each motion activated video could be FTPd to the Synology NAS drive. Surely that’s what it’s doing already by connecting to my network and managing it in Surveillance Station? Anyway, the Youtube video ‘E1Zoom – How To Save Footage To Synology FTP Server’ shows you how to do it. Also, the Youtube video ‘Setting Up Email Notifications _ Reolink Cameras’ shows you how to configure the camera without using Synology Surveillance Station. All of this can be done by simply typing in the IP address of the camera in your browser. You don’t need to download any software. Just as well as all my hardware at home is Linux based.
I no longer have any issues as described above and now get high quality MP4 video files uploaded to my Synology NAS. The Reolink app is good too.
In summary, an excellent camera but only after a lot of time researching and tweaking which now provides very good results. Hope this helps anyone experiencing issues with setting up this camera.

Have been using Reolink for a few years, and have recommended them enough times. The picture quality is amazing, the AI detection works pretty well. The only slight let down is the night vision, but i normally pair these cameras with LED floodlights and minimise the usage of the nightvision and it works really well.

Aspetti positivi:
– Configurazione veloce e facile anche per chi non esperto.
– Visione (sia live che registrata) in 4K incredibile, la qualit delle immagini eccellente sia di giorno che di notte. Le registrazioni altrettanto. Io di notte le uso sfruttando l’illuminazione pubblica senza accendere i LED infrarossi… le immagini sono nitidissime. Attenzione che la visione in 4K “consuma” molti dati per cui consiglio vivamente di installare la telecamera avendo cura di usare un cavo Cat.5e (che supporta traffico dati fino a 1 Gb) che sia in puro rame per poter supportare l’alimentazione PoE. Un cavo CCA (alluminio rivestito di rame) infatti potrebbe deteriorarsi rapidamente, soprattutto su tratte un p pi lunghe, a causa della corrente che attraversa i conduttori per alimentare la telecamera.
– Possibilit di registrare anche solo su memoria SD senza per forza installare un NVR. Le registrazioni si possono poi vedere sia da smartphone che da PC.
– Microfono ottimo, le voci si sentono belle chiare e distinte.
Aspetti negativi:
– Si pu solo sentire tramite la telecamera ma NON si pu parlare.
– Il motion detection la cosa che meno mi piaciuta (anche se non una funzionalit che mi interessi pi di tanto): rileva tutto indistintamente: persone, veicoli, animali, alberi o piante che si muovono con il vento. Ho attivato l’esclusione dei veicoli, ma la telecamera registra comunque ogni macchina che passa anche abbassando molto il livello di sensibilit.
Un’ultima voce merita il servizio clienti (in inglese). Rispondono (via email) SEMPRE e in tempi brevi (al massimo il giorno dopo, dipende dal fuso orario), sono gentili e competenti e cercano in qualsiasi modo di aiutarti (avevo un problema di compatibilit dell’app Reolink con il mio smartphone Samsung e non mi hanno mollato fino a che non hanno risolto. Eccellenti!
In definitiva, la telecamera ha un ottimo rapporto qualit prezzo ed il servizio post-vendita veramente efficiente. 5 stelline meritatissime, mi ritengo pi che soddisfatto.

The app is easy to use and set up aswell.
I just use it with an SD card installed with it recording every motion. Ethernet cable plugs straight in then goes into Poe switch then WiFi router.
Very clear image quality as it is in 4K.Didnot use poe cabling but just powered up normally and hey presto after verification of WiFi it was just easy to set it up .Happy with product, might replace other cctv in house.
Die Videoqualitt ist schlichtweg beeindruckend und mit sehr hoher Detailschrfe.
Da ich bereits verschiedene Reolink Kameras mit 2 und 5 Megapixel besitze ist der Vergleich hiermit schon wirklich bemerkbar.
Am Anfang dachte ich, dass nur ein marginaler Unterschied zur 5 Mp Kamera besteht, aber wenn man dann etwas experimentiert, sieht man schon recht deutlich den Unterschied.
Einfach in die Landschaft gerichtet, bemerkt man den Unterschied zunchst nicht sofort, betrachtet man dann aber die Details, erkennt man schon Unterschiede. Bei der 5 Mp Kamera ist der Rasen eine grne Flche, aber bei dieser 4K erkennt man auch die Grashalme. Genau so ist das natrlich auch bei allen anderen Objekten im Sichtfeld.
Selbst ein Kfz Kennzeichen ist auf 10 Meter Distanz noch hervorragend lesbar.
Extrem bemerkbar ist dann aber der Unterschied beim zoomen, hier zeigen sich dann die Unterschiede mehr als deutlich und die 4K liefert noch ein anstndiges Bild, wo die 5 Mp bereits verpixelt ist.
Auch bei der Nachsicht zeigen sich deutliche Vorteile und das nicht nur bei der Bildschrfe, sondern auch bei der besseren Infrarot Ausleuchtung. Die Angaben in der Produktbeschreibung kann ich auf jeden Fall “fast” besttigen, bis ca. 25 Meter erkennt man noch Details, das ist dann aber auch die Grenze und danach wird das Bild unbrauchbar. Auf die beschriebenen 30 Meter sollte man sich also nicht verlassen!
Zugegeben, am Anfang habe ich mich mit den Alarmeinstellungen etwas schwer getan und irgendwie nur, keine Alarmauslsung oder dauerhafte Auslsung hinbekommen.
Hier muss man sich wirklich Zeit nehmen und geduldig sein. Am Ende habe ich es aber hinbekommen und die fr mich akzeptablen Einstellungen gefunden.
Das Ergebnis ist nicht hundertprozentig aber auf jeden Fall zufriedenstellend.
Die Einrichtung (wenn man das berhaupt so nennen darf) war an meinem Reolink NVR total simpel.
Einfach einstecken und die Kamera wurde sofort erkannt.
Aber auch die Einbindung als Einzelkamera ber PC und Handy ging denkbar einfach und unkompliziert.
Die Kamera selbst ist von Qualitt und Verarbeitung wirklich solide, stabil und ordentlich.
Das Ausrichten ist mit dem neuen Verschluss erheblich einfacher und komfortabler als bei den lteren Versionen mit der Inbus – Schraube.
Was sich noch verndert hat, sind die Lochabstnde beim Sockel, die sind hier ein wenig weiter auseinander als die bei der 411 – 5 Mp. Kamera.
Die 5 Mp (411) passt noch hervorragend auf den hier bei Amazon gekauften Sockel:

Bei dieser 4K passen leider nur 2 Lcher und ein Drittes muss selber gebohrt werden. Mit einem 4 mm Bohrer aber kein Problem. Ich habe zwei Fotos diesbezglich beigefgt und ich denke, dass sieht ganz ordentlich aus. Wer einen passenden Sockel sucht, wird momentan wohl nicht fndig, ich habe jedenfalls ausgiebig recherchiert und bis dato nicht gefunden.
Weitere technische Details erspare ich mir an dieser Stelle da die Produktbeschreibung wirklich aussagekrftig ist und auch den Tatsachen entspricht.
Ich bin auf jeden Fall vollstndig zufrieden, besser gesagt, beeindruckt von dieser Kamera und kann sie daher auch bedenkenlos empfehle

If you buy this camera you are also going to need some of the following things
micro sd card
POE injector (I purchased the TP-link gigabit PoE Injector – TL-POE150S)
Longer ethernet cables than what’s in the box if the camera is routed far away from your router.
The POE camera is recommended to use via one ethernet cable to be powered up by the POE injector or switch directly so that there is no DC adapter included. If you would like to power it up via the DC adapter, the connector used for the camera is 5.5*2.1MM DC 12V/2A. You can search the specification above on Amazon to find a proper one if you don’t want to use POE but plugging an ethernet cable is the best method as you need to get the camera signal as this isn’t wireless.
Absolutely fantastic camera attached to their 8 camera DVR. Wouldn’t be without one now I have it!
This is my absolute favourite. Good quality picture, vision and response via ethernet cable.
This camera is a nice piece of kit, well worth the money.
Connected up to Poe switch worked straight away. Takes some time to understand stand the way they work especially the recording/ftp options. Not using a NVR instead recording to a computer no problems. The motion detection is a bit hit and miss as is the auto IR lights they seem to stay black and white even when it’s light. Overall the picture quality is great both day and night. The biggest problem is spiders due to the design they make webs in the corners and are attracted by the IR lights so you end up with a piece of web on the lens Constantly cleaning them have tried anti spider spray but they come back.
Brilliant. Want to get more. Certainly won’t need a standalone NVR recorder anymore. The SD card recording and intelligent motion detection is that good. Tge mobile app is also easier to use than its browser PC interface making downloading and finding motion clips very easy. No more triggers by wind in the trees or birds. Superb product.
Also have two RLC-410s setup to FTP to a Raspberry Pi. Had an issue with the RLC-810A FTPing to the RPi. Reolink support (Lori) were quick to respond and proved the Camara was OK by getting me to setup FTP to my PC. I noted that the PC application (which had good visable diagnostics) was prepending the user home directory to the Camera FTP “upload directory”. Turns out the FTP data on the RPi was in directory home/pi/home/pi/ftp, so different to the RLC-410 where you inclue the user home directory in the FTP “upload directory”.
For the Raspberry Pi I have setup to boot from USB mass storage as I was hitting a 64Gbit storage ceiling when booting from the 64Gbit microSD card even though data was going to the USB drive.

Fantastic quality camera but the app just doesn’t work for me. Strangely works better on android than ios, it’s normally the other way around for me. I have to have the quality on its lowest on my ipad to work smoothly but on my Samsung phone I can knock it it up to its highest quality without any problem.
You can set it to notify you if it sees anything but this is where it all goes wrong for me, you can block an area out where you don’t want to get alarms from but this stops it recording in that area too, I want it to record in these areas but not to send me a message every time it sees a car ( I live on a busy road) The app needs a lot of work. I love the camera but I will not buy another one unless they sort the app out.
I purchased 3 RLC-810A’s to cover the rear of my property and one on the front from Amazon as well as a RLC-820A (dome) from Reolink directly as unfortunately Amazon do not stock this model. What lead me to these cameras is the YouTube channel ‘The Hook Up’ which has a very detailed video of what these are capable of.
THE RLC-820A uses the same hardware/software, its just in a different housing.
The delivery was prompt and well packaged, no damage. The packaging of the cameras was of great quality, everything you need including a short ethernet cable to test with, window sticker, mounting hardware and drill template.
I am using these cameras through BlueIris as an NVR so most of my image detection is managed through there and as such I do not have an experience using the onboard camera recording to SD card or Reolink’s software.
The cameras are capable of 25fps at 4K on a mainstream and 15fps on the substream which is of lesser quality. At first, the cameras would not reach full fps through BlueIris when utilising both the main and substreams through the same camera however after reaching out to Reolink’s support my ticket was quickly responded to by very helpful support staff who sent over a new firmware file to resolve the issue.
One thing to note is that the FPS of the stream will drop at night to around 15fps on the mainstream which is to be expected with most CCTV cameras, however the recordings are of great quality.
The onboard motion detection is not something I’ve explored too thoroughly but from the small tests I have performed it is extremely accurate throughout the day yet at night it can be a little too sensitive and picks up small bugs which fly past and reflect on the IR lights. The night mode is very clear and reaches far – one slight oversight on installing these cameras is that I have mounted the front camera near a bay window so the reflection from the tile blows out the quality of the image slightly but this is no fault of the camera and it is possible to tweak all of the settings in the camera itself.
These cameras have been installed for around a week now outside of the property but I had been testing them for a week prior to this so cannot speak about longevity but I do not doubt these cameras in any way shape or form and would recommend them to anybody who is looking for a quality camera at a great price compared to its competitors. The icing on the cake is Reolink’s support which give me full faith in the product knowing that any issues that arise, however technical they are there to help and assist.
If you’re thinking of buying this camera, do it. You won’t be disappointed.

Purchased to test out the new motion person and vehicle detection. Its a nice upgrade to the B800 with 5fps increase which makes a large difference as well as a SD card slot.
For the price its really good, faster cpu. the second sub stream is still low quality but overall works fine with blue iris
The motion detection is still not reliable and i would advise to NOT use this as you will miss out on a lot of motion events OR you will end up recording too many. Sticking with standard motion detection is the bes
The intelligent motion detection of people and vehicles works well during daylight hours but is poor giving masses of false alarms when the infra red is in use. It may be caused by rain which in the UK is frequent!
I needed a camera to look at my car while I’m asleep. Mainly due to recent thefts of Catalytic Converters and cars themselves.
I thought it was time to invest, have to admit I have not looked back. I have it to set off an alarm if motion is detected between midnight and 5am.
Highly recommend this product, brilliant picture quality.
I’ve tried several cameras and all had issues so decided to try these Poe cameras. I have 3 set up and had an issue with 1 camera which Reolink customer services had sorted within an hour of making contact. Fantastic service especially during the pandemic. I get the odd false alert with heavy rain but overall delighted with this set up.

Reolink Support – this is very good. As I have limited knowledge of these cameras, I raised couple of questions with their support link. The response was excellent with prompt replies and very clear guidance. – Great camera and fantastic support.
Bought this as an upgrade and using as a single camera with POE and SD card and is working well.
The app and windows client are both really good.
Motion detection can be a bit hit or miss at times but remember that these cameras pick up motion better left to right rather than straight on.
Would definitely stay with this brand and expand on my coverage with their NVR and add on cameras.
I now have 3 RLC-810A PoE bullet cameras used for security around the house. The camera is simple to set up and has outstanding (4K) picture quality. The App (Android) is comprehensive, easy to set up and the new Windows client is similarly simple and easy to use.
There was a fault on one of the cameras and Reoling support replaced it within 48 hours, an example of the outstanding customer service which I have consistently had whenever I’ve asked for support help.

I ordered two cameras to replace my older models. Installation was easy through the mobile and desktop app. The picture is very clear during the day and night, it is easy to set up motion detection and recording.
I initially had problems with viewing the files and downloading them on my iMac. This was fed back to the support department that has been excellent in solving the problem and giving me an updated firmware that cured all the problems.
Again the customer support for this camera from Reolink has been 5 stars, this is why I always come back to them for more.
This is an excellent camera with superb image quality.. Compared to my 1080p Swann cameras the detail captured in 4K means you can digitally zoom the image to read number plates and see faces. The person and vehicle detection is a superb bonus which mitigated the large files that recording in 4K generated. I’ll be ordering some more cameras soon.
The camera is well made and gives a good image. I tested it connected by ethernet to a Reolink NVR using PoE and it worked first time. Using the Reolink app on a phone was fine and the camera displayed well on that. It seems to be a bit of an improvement over my old 5Mp Reolink camera.

For years Foscam have been my goto camera of choice …… not any more!
For the price the Reolink can’t be beat, more features, great build quality and fully local control that carries on working even if you block it entirely from the internet.
Brought this mainly capture cars or people on my drive rather than getting alerts for birds and squrrels all the time. I did have a problem when connecting to my reolink not as all the smart features did not so up as expected. After contacting reolink to report the problem Corrine from reolink customer services I was informed I just needed to update the firmware on my nvr. Once downloaded and installed in to nvr it all works great.
Overall fantastic day and night videos with 8mp of detail and great customer support from reolink.
The cable has a thick moulded part where the different connectors separate, it would have been nice for this to be detachable for fitting the cable through walls as it means I have to drill a hole bigger than I would have liked.
The ethernet cable they supply is too short and therefore pointless.
I have yet to explore all the options for setting it up in the software so will update this review as I plan to use it with a Qnap Nas or Blue Iris.

Camera is good quality and very easy to configure. The Reolink app provides for a great deal of customisation. Make sure if you’re using a Reolink NVR to make sure it supports the new smart motion notifications, as it’s hardware specific and quite limited currently.
Previous models were great, I purchased one of the latest models that have been updated which is stunning quality and even better night vision so I’ve had to buy another one to replace my older models. (shame to loose the zoom) a couple of initial start-up issues with my other Reolink cameras and the support was excellent and could not be faulted “excellent products and brilliant company to do business with” AAA
