Really bright and easy to use with app just can’t get it to work on wifi
Easy to install, nice and bright and works brilliantly with Alexa
This is great. Easy to set up turn your lights on an off where ever you are. Highly recommend
Needs the hub to work pairs well and works with alexa brightness it ok. you can add 60+ bulbs to the hub
Great value – especially when you find it discounted – and allows great Google Assistant and Alexa integration. Bought them to control the lights when I’m traveling. Exactly what you need and has never let me down.
These bulbs are great! If you’re buying them used or from Amazon Warehouse install them and flick the switch 10 times rapidly, the bulbs will flash 4 or more times. This resets the bulbs allowing them to pair with a hub.
The bulbs have Alexa and Google Home integration, I chose to use Google Home and have timers.
The only negative with all smart bulbs is that they need to be turned on at the source (the switch) to be controlled by the app.
Works very well with alexa. They have great online portal and responds everytime
Waste to set up once you know how. Couldn’t be without them now
The initial setup was a bit of a faff. That might have been down to problems with the 2.4GHz on my network. Once that was sorted it was very easy to connect with Alexa, Google home and ifttt.
The bulbs are only a soft white but that’s more than adequate for my purposes.
Easy to set up. Set up took less than 5 minutes. These can be super bright or super dimmed. Work well in a kids room. Love these. Amazing
easy to understand instructions, simple to installand add to Alex’s. so easy to operate my children do i
Great for using remotely. Love dimming the light in the lounge.
he price of other brands can be crazy for a wireless LED bulb. these are perfect for what we needed and were so easy to set up
It’s good. Nice and simple to use and miles cheaper than Philip’s
Easy to install. Nice lights. Not as bright as can be but good enough. Took about of time to Alexa it but once I did it was all good.
Perfect why spend a fortune on the other brands super bright easy to set up with app and alexa
Easy to install hub needs to be near plug. Comes with cable to connect to Internet. Easy to connect to alexa
Great kit to start using your Alexa with works great easy ti install and easy to set up
New app wouldn’t let me register installed old one then logged in with new very impressed just can’t get to work with alexa but easy off phone anyway now sorted with alexa, swee
Nice easy setup having to use a bridge makes it another extra step but the box is small enough not to be noticed git it on a lightning deal which was great value
I had peace of mind when on holiday as I could switch the lights on and off to make people’s believe I was at home
I had problems connection this via Alexa to start with but managed to do it the next day. It is very easy to set up if it sets up to start with. Very quick response from Senegal via e-mail.
So easy to set up and just as easy to add extra bulbs in the future. literally Plug in and it was ready with the use of the app.
Highly recommended for your smart home
love it-
Sorted my Problem in the Kitchen with the double lights.
works Perfect with Alexa too
Easy to set up and integrate with Alexa and IFTTT. Good value for money and the bulbs work very well.
for room light… sometimes using the switch is easier way
Used as security feature. Could use smart socket attached to extension lead to several lamps with same effect. Bulbs typical of “cold” light of modern bulbs and does not really provide the equivalent of old filament bulbs, but that is the same of all such bulbs and not a fault of this product.
Really good set up however Alexa struggles to interpret the room names so have to repeat yourself loads of times.
great items easy to set up works really well, the only negative was on set up Sengled wasnt listed on the list of makers and they wear purchased as a package
My first Alexa bulbs and Wi Fi unit. Downloaded the app onto my phone set up the Wi Fi unit and named the bulbs. Set up Alexa as instructions and everything worked first time. On/Off and dimming.
Bought with deal on amazon, so we’re great value for money. Work well with Alexa.
Works well with my Alexa. Love the dimmer function for cosy nights.
Haven’t connected to inter net yet having bit problem with the connection hope it connects in the end
I love these. So easy to set up. Can use with Alexa or phone. They dim up and down and the light is quite bright.
Great value as I bought on offer. Nearly as good as hue products and served as a good tester of smart home products. Alexa integration is great.
I wanted to see whether I could set this up myself as I am not particularly technically minded. This wasn’t at all difficult to do and I found that following the instructions got me the right results without too many problems (I had to reinstall the app but I think I messed something up there – just started again and it went fine.
The bulbs give a nice warm light and it’s handy to be able to just ask Alexa to do the lights – it works 9 times out of 10 I would say – as is the case with most of our Alexa connected stuff. Price wise this seems pretty competitive to me – I guess the brand name is not so well known. I’m pleased with this set and would happily get it again.
Paired really easy with Spot.
Light must be switch on at all times
If dimmed with app, light will not restore to full brightness by switch light switch on and off
Very easy to install. My house is over 100 years old and these bulbs work even on my old wiring. I can even dim the lights! Very pleased with product.
Works a treat and so does the app. Can switch lights on from the car when I arrive home. Very pleased.
Good quality item. Variable brightness and simple Alexa integration, also allows remote cobtril from the app when not at home. Been in use now for a few months and have found it to be most useful to control lights. The sengled range is more limited than others but for the price i am happy.
At 20 with the offer this is amazing value kit. Works well had a little trouble with the bulbs but after resetting they are fine
works brilliantly with Alexa. good value for money. if you do not like very bright lights you can set a reduced brightness as a default. first time set up is a bit lengthy but once you are set up it is easy to add more. colour changing bulbs will be nice but cannot find them
Instructions not totally clear as the app that you have to install was different to the instructions but was evident on the App Store. Didn’t take long to fit and works well
Love the product. Installation was very easy and integrates with google assistant too. No regrets buying this one.
When you can’t get home until after dark it’s simple to switch home lights on via app
A starter kit for Sengled with two bulbs and a hub. They are just white and not colour changing. Signal is good and ideal starter maybe in side lights in the lounge. Works with Alexa which seems common place these days if you have the hub matching the bulbs. I have a Hue setup and have added this as a second hub, they don’t talk to each other but Alexa controls the lot.
A much cheaper, more versatile and easy home lightening smart system .
Same format as most of the smart devices, download the app and it runs you through set up.
The bulbs supplied are better than my Philips ones and didn’t require any adaptors. Far cheaper too .its Depending on what type of Alexa , echo set up you have hw well it works. I have a few types and it doesn’t work with the woman’s Alexa but does work with the echo dot .
Overall I’m very pleased with it, works well enough ( all smart systems are frustrating) and price wise is a far better alternative .
This isn’t actually as good as the Hue lights, but it’s cheap, so I really can’t complain about that. It’s a plug in hub and LED bulbs which hook up with the likes of Alexa to allow you to voice/mobile control your lights. The app isn’t quite as slick as more expensive versions, but not to the detriment of it’s working.
Good value smart home tech.
Possibly a little over-priced in comparison with other brands, but appears to work perfectly well with the Alexa / Amazon Dot
Instructions for set up are simple and well laid out. Packaging was neat and not excessive.
No complaints here
This Sengled Lighting system comprises of a hub, which can be connected to your home network via ethernet or WiFi and TWO WiFi prepared standard bayonet bulbs. Installing the hub was dead straight forward using the installed instructions, as was getting the bulbs to pair (the bulbs are dimmable soft white and really quite good). From this point on my experience started to go down hill a bit. The Sengled elements app kept telling me that there was a firmware update for the hub and bulbs, but I had no way of deploying it – I contacted Sengled and whilst I had a very nice response from them it didn’t help me in the slightest. I did a bit of searching the internet and people we advising the use of the Sengled Home to manage your elements lighting and hub, installed this app and then I could update the firmware. Once I had updated everything I managed to move the bulbs into different room in the app and configure them so that I can use my Alexa app/device to control them.
Overall they are okay and work as expected but use the SENGLED HOME APP!
Does what it’s supposed to and integrates well with Alexa smart home
Having already got a very similar gadget “hue” I thought it would be interesting to see how this compares.
Plus Points I can see versus “hue”
1. Hub once it is setup via cable can use your WiFi rather than ethernet cable to connect making picking a central location easier.
2. App shows signal strength level between lamps and hub.
3. Lamps are a little cheaper but only by 2.00 at the time of writing this review.
4. Basic system has a lower purchase price.
Negative points I can see versus “hue”
1. Only two time schedules can be set for a lamp (see my screen captures) plus wake up time.
2. No dusk or dawn options for auto lamps on/off.
3. App seems a bit dated, last updated May 2018.
4. Hub support for third party apps seems more limited e.g. SmartThings which can talk to the lamps but not the hub.
Anyway, setup is easy with the lamps already paired to the hub (it seems to add more you need to scan the barcode on the new lamps using the app).
Adding the skill to Alexa also worked first time including commands to set the light level of the lamps.
The Android app did tell me the system needed to perform a firmware update but the button was missing from the app.
However, using the iOS app on an old iPad allowed the update (even though the firmware versions look the same to me).
No problems in operation and it is a little cheaper than the competition but less range of devices e.g. motion sensors, lamp designs may be factors in making your purchasing decision.
This is a somewhat cheaper alternative to Philips Hue – and it works almost as well. You have to plug the included hub into your router with a cable – then by downloading an app for smartphone or tablet you are able to control the two included lightbulbs. They can be programmed to switch on and off remotely so good to programme when you’re on holiday or at work. The app isn’t quite as polished as the Philips Hue and it crashed on my Apple IPhone a couple of times – but all in all it’s a good bit of kit and the LED bulbs should last quite a while. Good starter kit for an introduction th programmable home kit…
This comes as a neatly packaged kit providing all you need to get the lights up and running. There is a hub, two bulbs, one short network cable and a power plug and cable.
Installation and setup is basically straight forward and if you follow the instructions provided – pretty easy. Provide power to the hub and plug it into your router (or a network switch). Install and provide power to the bulbs. You need to download the “Sengled Element Home” app on your iOS or Android device (I was using the iOS version). You have to set up an account – email address and password twice – so pretty easy. After that the application needs to enable a wifi connection to your network – so wifi name and password required for that. All of this worked seamlessly – no “I can’t find the hub/network/router/etc.”. However once complete I was initially unable to turn off the lights.
Once power is provided to them initially – you have three minutes in that cycle while the bulbs are active/available to pair. I think I blew past that whilst installing apps, setting up accounts and so on. [Edit: the two bulbs are pre-paired – only new bulbs require the pairing] A power cycle and pause – and then I could turn the lights on/off from my phone via the app (this does not interface with Apple Homekit).
Next step was to add the lights to Alexa. This is pretty simple – enable the Sengled Home skill – add devices and you’re pretty much done. I created a new group called Office – and I was good to go.
I have found these lights slightly less reliable than equivalent Philips Hue lights in terms of 100% correct functioning when using Alexa. On occasion only one of two lights come on. That said – they are pretty good otherwise. “Office lights 50%” does just that, as do “on” and “off”.
Slightly less expensive than a Hue bridge and two bulbs – these are not a bad alternative. The setup is straightforward – and basically effective. Only time will tell how reliable they are in use compared with competitors – for now, I am reasonably well impressed.
This is a great bit of kit. It was extremely easy to set up even for a technical numpty like me. The Quick Start Guide was all that I needed. I downloaded the app on to my iPhone and it all worked as it should. The two bulbs that come with the kit are already paired with the hub which is what made it so easy I guess.
Recommended.
So, I think we need to look at this in terms of what it is. I.e. a cheaper alternative to Philips Hue, which I also have.
It’s the exact same setup, this gets plugged into the router and power, then the lightbulbs get controlled through an app or Alexa.
The good news is, it actually works just as well – which really impressed me.
The app isn’t as slicks as the one by Philips but it lets you do the same amount of stuff. The bulbs aren’t as fancy or bright but again they do work well. As a result, I think this is really cool.
There are other bulbs available too which is nice so you can kit this out the same way you would hue.
My only criticism is the build quality isn’t as good and the app crashed a few times, overall though, for the money, this is excellent.
This relatively low cost package simply includes 2 bulbs and a hub that you need to connect to the mains and to your WIFI by a supplied ethernet cable.
Download the Sengled Home App for your phone (Android or IOS) and follow the instructions on the screen.
I found that I had to update the firmware in the hub and the bulbs, but this was straight forward and only needed me to say “Yes” to the process.
Simply, the app allows the turning on and off of the bulbs. If you have an Alexa powered device then you can also operate this by voice too.
Bearing in mind the low cost of this package it really does add a tremendous level of functionality to your mobile phone or Alexa device and the ability to turn lights on an off is worthwhile.
The quality of the lights is the question. The light that they give is instant and warm, a yellowy white, but the manufacturer offers an alternative lamp that is a lot whiter light. I think that this is a great starter kit but I would advise that you upgrade the bulbs to the higher temperature versions as the light is a lot better. This is still a really good deal though!
