The build is high quality and you can do so many customizations with the use of their app. And the customizations you do stay configured within the mic, meaning that you can use the mic with other phones, unplug the mic from your phone and not use it for a long time, and still have the same configurations you have set to it. The mic produces high-quality sounds and it has helped me produce amazing voiceovers straight out of my phone!
The preset profile settings, clarity, and sensitivity of this mic are very impressive. The presets are not gimmicks and work exactly as described. The related app you can download can be used for video and audio. The sensitivity is very good and I had to adjust down for clarity when recording sounds closer to the mic. I would definitely recommend for anyone recording video and audio or just audio with a smartphone.
This thing sounds great. I got rid of my iPhone and went back to Android so I’m no longer using it. But when I was using it to record my podcast, it always sounded stellar and due to being able to get away from my computer usually resulted in a higher quality recording. I very much recommend this
Use it mainly to have a field recording setup on the go when i don’t bring full audio gear with me, this small microphone is a great tool and the best so far i was able to hear in these type of mobile vlogger type microphone. Great sounding, multiple mic patterns controlled via software, a bit more expansive then other brand but the quality so far is way better.

Volume tends to be low for some reason even from a foot or two away, but you just have to increase the volume of the video afterward.
The background noise is decreased a lot.
I don’t know why nothing works with a phone case anymore. I mean, who doesn’t put a case on a $1600 phone? It’s a great product but I don’t like how it attaches. I had to get an extending attachment to use it without taking my phone case off and messing with all of that.
I decided to start a daily podcast in 2019, and have used this microphone exclusively for recording episodes. IT WORKS GREAT. This is literally all you need… I record straight to iPhone’s built-in “Voice Memos” app, then upload the recordings to a Google Drive for my producer to grab, edit, and post. For the price I would expect to see the dead mouse muffler included but this was a separate purchase at 24GBP so again expensive. if you are looking for a professional option for field recoding you cant go wrong with this bit of kit.

I’ve been using this with my Sony Xperia 5 with the Cinema Pro app for filming as it works very well. The audio is detailed but it is necessary to get the dead cat windscreen for when filming outside to reduce wind noise. By the way, the Xperia 5 (for some unknown reason) does not allow the use of the external usb-c microphone with the standard camera app.

Nice mic, but to take advantage of the mic fully you have to use the Motiv software and the Motiv video app seems pretty weak. For me, essentially having to use the mic Motiv apps to take full advantage of the app pretty much meant I didn’t/wasn’t using the mic. But, a lot of people really like it, so it might be just fine for you. Me? The shoe just didn’t fit…
Great quality item but the tripod is too low so I had to purchase an extension to get it to the right height for filming selfie videos while seated at a desk. Otherwise would have given 5 stars.
Mic is good as compared to the price, good sound quality, definitely going to increase the recording quality, perfect for use in Ipad, may be some distortion or sound conflicts when used in iphone,. Otherwise good product.
The sound quality is really very good and you can use it for professional application I hooked my mic with my android phone and recorded inside my car then I sent it to a professional studio engineer and he was blown off when he heard the quality. You can really get very flat sound which can be worked on in a studio for a good professional mix.
Saves me thousands of dollars every time I use it with 4K vid on an iPhone 12 and this sound set up, I have zero’d out the line on my budget for hiring a videographer for 90% of the dynamic content we build for a national brand. The only challenge is “learning” and then using the wide array of choices in the app.
Here’s what I learned from working with a pro in the vid space, when shooting indoors, like at our retail stores for interviews
* Use AAC 256 Audio
* Do not compress
* Do not use the limiter setting (indoors)
* Careful to keep the mic gain below the red — you can always adjust the sound up in post, but not down if it’s too hot.
If it’s one person, then Set the sound “width” tight. If it’s more than one, open it up wide

I love it, portable, solid, and good quality for the price. Excellent for location work. Buy the $15 fluffy dog for windy situations. Bought a Blue Nano for desktop use around the same time, looks nice but the MV88 gives me better voice quality for podcast and narration than the Blue. Seems I could have used this mic for everything!

Ich habe das Mikrofon gekauft, um klassische Musik an Klavier bzw. Flgel in guter Qualitt aufnehmen zu knnen. Mit dem Samsung A71 gab es keine Probleme bei der Installation der notwendigen App von Shure und das Mikrofon wurde sofort erkannt. Die Qualitt der Aufnahmen gewinnt enorm gegenber dem eingebauten Mikrofon, da manuell ausgesteuert werden kann und Kompressor und Equalizer justiert werden knnen. Trotz des relativ hohen Preises (dafr einen Punkt Abzug) eine klare Empfehlung.
This microphone significantly improved the quality of my recordings from the standard phone, and shotgun (mono) mic I had. I know there’s lots of other factors but it clearly sounds better.
It has an easy hookup to my phone with USBC (I have an Samsung S20) and ability to set up the mic with some level of customization. Plus a great stand.
I’m knocking off a star for the ridiculously small cables they provide. Not to mention that the microphone takes a USB nano input while requiring a USB-C/Lightning on the phone – meaning you probably don’t have a single existing cable that will work. Fortunately, there are a few available cables in Amazon that will work but it’s just a silly combination.

(Unverstndlich, dass dies in Zeiten von Homeoffice nicht aktiver beworben und beschrieben wird, zumal alternativ zu den kurzen Lightning- bzw. USB-C-Kabelchen (40cm) auch ein lngeres USB-A zu Micro-USB verwendet werden kann.)
Besonders in Zeiten von “Nachhaltigkeit” ist berhaupt nicht nachvollziehbar, dass dieses Mikro ausschlielich im Bundle angeboten wird. Wer wie ich wirklich nur das Mikro gebrauchen kann/will, zahlt in Anbetracht der Einzelpreise (Tripod 20, Handy- und Mikrofonhalter 40) satte 30% fr die berflssige Beipackware – aka “Mll”.
Extrmement facile utiliser et amliore trs nettement la qualit sonore des enregistrements (utilis avec un iPhone 11 Pro Max). D’un usage en revanche spcifique, mais dans ce cadre donne de trs bons rsultats.

Es ideal para podcasters o grabacin grupal de una banda.
Cons:
No se puede monitorear en tiempo real ya que en iPhones ms recientes, no tienes manera de conectar audfonos y el micrfono a la vez.
No puedes grabar tracks de instrumentos simultneamente mientras escuchas ya que por lo miso que dije, no puedes conectar ambas cosas al puerto lightning.
Es ms tardado grabar una banda o diferentes instrumentos ya que se debe exportar cada track a un software y as escuchar como suena todo combinado.
I cannot believe that the tone of my acoustic guitar is finally captured beautifully with this phone mic. I needed a mic for quick phone videos, and this is magic! Picks up my vocals beautifully as well. There is warmth, and yet there is air in the recording. I record in my home studio using pro equipment, but my guitar sounds fabulous with this little mic. Definitely shows off the low end frequencies. I waited a few months so as to leave an honest review after quite a bit of use. You will not go wrong buying this if you are searching for warmth plus clarity, as well as an extremely professional sound. 5 stars for Shure!!

Il microfono in oggetto stato acquistato nella versione MV88+ e si rivelato davvero all’altezza.
Precisiamo da subito che a condensatore, che stereofonico e che il suo sistema a tre piedi per gestire il microfono stesso oppure il telefono e il microfono assieme, lo rendono davvero completo e comodo.
La qualit l’ho trovata decisamente di livello e, l’applicazione scaricabile della casa madre Shure, risulta praticamente costruita attorno a questo microfono dandogli cos una possibilit di utilizzo veramente ampia, tante funzioni di cui non ne ho riscontrata neppure una “fittizia” ma tutte funzionali e utili.
possibile registrare qualsiasi cosa, dalla composizione sulla chitarra acustica, parlarci in una video conferenza o anche per una microfonazione ambientale.
Lo uso quasi prettamente per registrare le mie composizioni su chitarra e, poter collegare questo microfono in pochi secondi al telefono e partire immediatamente a registrare cosa davvero comoda.
Il prezzo non effettivamente contenuto anche se completo di ogni cosa per, ad esempio facendo un confronto diretto con il suo parente MV5 questo lo reputo di un altro livello!!

I was hesitant to buy this simply becuase of the price–$150…ouch. But I’m glad I did. The price is definitly seen in the quality of the recordings. I use this for in-the-field interviews for my podcast. I have used it in situations that I would consider less than ideal and the sound quality that I’m able to get out of it is excellent and I mean excellent. The quality of the recordings are very high and detailed. The best thing for me is that I can hold my cell phone while recording and I do not get much, if any, hand noice (mechanical noise) from holding the phone. This makes it great for situations where I cannot put the phone on a surface to record. My hat is off the Shure for this excellent little baby. Keep up the great work and if mine dies, I will definitely buy another one! Oh and the build quality is sturdy and very very good too so I don’t expect it to die any time soon.
Purchased the MV88 for use in recording quality audio for videos I shoot with my iPhone, in both live and pre-recorded church settings. The quality of this mic is exceptional, especially at this price point, and is very easy to use. The Motiv app allows you to change the EQ, recording angle, and adjust to the setting. I bought a Shure “fuzzy” windscreen to use over the foam ball when recording outdoors in the wind and it really makes a difference—hardly any wind noise at all, which is a constant issue here in Colorado. I use the Apple case for my iPhone 11 which allows me to plug in the mic without having to remove the case (which can be an issue with some cases). Really love this little mic and it has become a constant companion in my EDC bag.
Really good quality sound just sits next to my monitor taking up very little room. Did need to buy a longer cable for desk top use but that was expected. Plus and play 😉
.. really impressed with this mic so far .. bought it to improve the sound on iPhone videos .. really easy to use and the associated apps are good .. I’m even using it to record vocals for music tracks now in preference to my more expensive condenser mic .. the specs state that it’s not compatible with the iPad Pro but it works fine on mine .. you can’t set the pick up pattern etc on the iPad but if you connect to the iPhone first and adjust the settings when you then connect to the iPad it remembers the setting .. a bit expensive but it works really well ..

Auch als USB-Mikro mit Audiointerface-Funktion schlgt es einige Mitbewerber aus dem Rennen, insbesondere auch durch die vielen Einstellungsmglichkeiten ber die Software der Desktop- oder iPad/iPhone-Apps. (Unverstndlich, dass dies in Zeiten von Homeoffice nicht aktiver beworben und beschrieben wird, zumal alternativ zu den kurzen Lightning- bzw. USB-C-Kabelchen (40cm) auch ein lngeres USB-A zu Micro-USB verwendet werden kann.)
Besonders in Zeiten von “Nachhaltigkeit” ist berhaupt nicht nachvollziehbar, dass dieses Mikro ausschlielich im Bundle angeboten wird. Wer wie ich wirklich nur das Mikro gebrauchen kann/will, zahlt in Anbetracht der Einzelpreise (Tripod 20, Handy- und Mikrofonhalter 40) satte 30% fr die berflssige Beipackware – aka “Mll”.
Extrmement facile utiliser et amliore trs nettement la qualit sonore des enregistrements (utilis avec un iPhone 11 Pro Max). D’un usage en revanche spcifique, mais dans ce cadre donne de trs bons rsultats.

En primer lugar, el precio es bastante accesible.
Pequeo y lo puedes llevar a todos lados.
Fcil de usar, audios fcil de exportar, no necesitas tanto equipo como cuando compras un micrfono por separado ms cables, ms las bases, ms el MIDI, etctera.
El sonido es bueno aunque se debe editar para hacerlo sonar mejor.
Es ideal para podcasters o grabacin grupal de una banda.
Cons:
No se puede monitorear en tiempo real ya que en iPhones ms recientes, no tienes manera de conectar audfonos y el micrfono a la vez.
No puedes grabar tracks de instrumentos simultneamente mientras escuchas ya que por lo miso que dije, no puedes conectar ambas cosas al puerto lightning.
Es ms tardado grabar una banda o diferentes instrumentos ya que se debe exportar cada track a un software y as escuchar como suena todo combinado.

I cannot believe that the tone of my acoustic guitar is finally captured beautifully with this phone mic. I needed a mic for quick phone videos, and this is magic! Picks up my vocals beautifully as well. There is warmth, and yet there is air in the recording. I record in my home studio using pro equipment, but my guitar sounds fabulous with this little mic. Definitely shows off the low end frequencies. I waited a few months so as to leave an honest review after quite a bit of use. You will not go wrong buying this if you are searching for warmth plus clarity, as well as an extremely professional sound. 5 stars for Shure!!

Precisiamo da subito che a condensatore, che stereofonico e che il suo sistema a tre piedi per gestire il microfono stesso oppure il telefono e il microfono assieme, lo rendono davvero completo e comodo.
La qualit l’ho trovata decisamente di livello e, l’applicazione scaricabile della casa madre Shure, risulta praticamente costruita attorno a questo microfono dandogli cos una possibilit di utilizzo veramente ampia, tante funzioni di cui non ne ho riscontrata neppure una “fittizia” ma tutte funzionali e utili.
possibile registrare qualsiasi cosa, dalla composizione sulla chitarra acustica, parlarci in una video conferenza o anche per una microfonazione ambientale.
Lo uso quasi prettamente per registrare le mie composizioni su chitarra e, poter collegare questo microfono in pochi secondi al telefono e partire immediatamente a registrare cosa davvero comoda.
Il prezzo non effettivamente contenuto anche se completo di ogni cosa per, ad esempio facendo un confronto diretto con il suo parente MV5 questo lo reputo di un altro livello!!

Purchased the MV88 for use in recording quality audio for videos I shoot with my iPhone, in both live and pre-recorded church settings. The quality of this mic is exceptional, especially at this price point, and is very easy to use. The Motiv app allows you to change the EQ, recording angle, and adjust to the setting. I bought a Shure “fuzzy” windscreen to use over the foam ball when recording outdoors in the wind and it really makes a difference—hardly any wind noise at all, which is a constant issue here in Colorado. I use the Apple case for my iPhone 11 which allows me to plug in the mic without having to remove the case (which can be an issue with some cases). Really love this little mic and it has become a constant companion in my EDC bag.
Really good quality sound just sits next to my monitor taking up very little room. Did need to buy a longer cable for desk top use but that was expected. Plus and play 😉
Es muy buen micrfono, pero no lo explotas a toda su capacidad cuando grabas video porque la aplicacin solo es para audio y la qu hay para video deja mucho que desear.
Lo uso para grabarme, soy msico. Ayuda mucho a la calidad sonora ya que los celulares aplanan los matices Lo recomiendo
