I bought this chair brand new but when it arrived it was obviously a used so I sent it back. The chair is quite good but be aware of this seller.
Delighted because someone has really thought about the design and assembly of this brilliant chair. Instructions are very clear, all the fixings (with spares) are well packaged and labelled, the assembly tool is nice to use, it’s really quick and easy to put together, and top top it all, they provide you with a pair of cotton gloves. Thank you to the person that really has considered the needs of customer when assembling. Would love to see other product manufacturers follow SIHOO’s lead
I’ve worked in many offices over many years and sat on all sorts of chairs – this one is just as good as any I’ve ever used and has all the adjustments I’ve ever expected: arm-rests go up and down (not left, right, back or forward), seat goes up and down, back reclines, headrest and lumbar support are provided (* more later). The model I bought M18-M156 also has a foot rest which is a lot nicer than I expected, great for relaxing if you’re on a long phone call or a boring zoom meeting, or just watching video.
Assembly is easy (watch a 5-minute M18 video from Sihoo on YT to see) but needs some strength – the chair seat and back are quite heavy. Lifting the chair seat onto the pole in the base is the hardest part. The armrests are specific to each side – mine only had an ‘R’ sticker for the right armrest, but I’d already figured out which was which. All the tools are provided, with 2 spare bolts and washers.
It’s easy to operate the controls and it’s movements are all smooth. It’s strong and comfortable.
Like all office chairs, none are perfect for everyone, so I can’t give it 5 stars. In every chair I’ve used, there’s always something not quite right – but this ine is among the best, because the imperfections don’t bother you too much.
The only thing I feel could be improved in this chair is the lumbar cushion – it hasn’t enough padding and has hard edges – for me, the top of this support digs into my back, it isn’t painful but feels awkward… it can be adjusted and if you keep trying you’ll find a good depth and height for it. Some people like to feel some pressure in the lumbar support, this chair will apply pressure along the top edge of the support cushion – so if it had more padding or was slightly more curved it would be perfect. Even so, once adjusted it supports the lumbar region and is better than not having it.
he chair is very simple and great, it’s way comfier than a corsair gaming chair i’ve had for a few months; I’m 6ft 1 which isn’t that tall, but somehow it was a huge problem with the corsair chair, but not at all with this one – the customizable lumbar is amazing too, since we all have different backs.
I’m only giving it 4 stars because i bought the “upgraded” version with the roller blade wheels and they’re awful; you pull yourself in and the wheels face one way, then if you push out, they have to turn around and it feels like you’re going over an extension cord wire.
You’ve all seen pictorial instructions before, apparently drawn by a three year old, where the dimensions and shapes of the items don’t remotely correspond to what you have received, and to make matters worse you’ve got a fourth generation photocopy, and fewer nuts and bolts than the instructions describe.
I’ve never given a good review for instructions ..until now. I’d put off the assembly for a few days such was my dread of what was to follow, and being ‘fined’ by my wife for multiple expletives. But this was totally different! A clear set of instructions combining pictures with occasional helpful pointers in English, in a good quality booklet. The whole thing took 15 minutes with a further 5 for tweaking the position of the arm rests, heights and so on. The only point where I got stuck was with the word ‘shim’, though it was pretty obvious by process of elimination that this word meant ‘washer’. I’d never heard that term before!
Anyway, it would be picky to dwell on that point. 5 stars for assembly! Just amazing, totally unexpected.
I’m now adding to the original review above to give my verdict on the chair after a couple of weeks’ use. I find the chair very comfortable overall but it has minor faults. I was a bit worried about the lumbar support, a few people have complained about that, but I see no issue there at all. Height adjustment of chair and arm rests are independent, which is perfect. The range of movement of the back is very limited and to my mind the angle is not quite steep enough at the highest setting. In fact, I am struggling to discern any difference regardless of how much I turn the knob on the back. A slightly more upright position is needed, but it’s okay.
The one real dislike I have concerns the arm rests. You really want to have rotation about the axis of the rest. Your arm sits in a groove in the armrest, with a raised lip to the left and right. This is perfect if you want to tap endlessly the letter Q and the plus sign on the numeric section of the keyboard, but realistically the vast majority of your key presses are going to be more central, with your arms at an angle of 20-45 degrees relative to the arm rest. This means your forearm is pressing on the raised lip on the inner edge of the rest. If the lip were just on the outside edge it would be fine. Or if you could rotate the arm rests to be pointing slightly inwards.
However, the chair overall is very good, and would be perfect with a bit more thought about the design of the arm rests and the most likely positions of the users’ arms when typing.
Item received had scratch marks at the metal base. I believe this was sent out like this as opposed to damaged in transit as it had a layer of protective cover on. Overall, the quality of the chair was ok, easy to assembly but not as sturdy and comfy as I would like for the price. Customer service dealt with the issue, happy with the resolutio
Bought for husband wfh full time. He loves it. He has arthritis in his shoulders but finds it very comfy.
Been using the chair for a solid few weeks now, first impressions had me thinking the seat cusioning was to tough but after the first few hours/days on off of sitting the chair really does feel really comfortable. Amazing back and lumbar support and a super well built solid chair. Premium feel, nice weight and cool mesh for long gaming / office work sessions. Can’t say a bad word about it. Highly recommended! Forget gaming chairs this is the real deal, save you back and posture.
I bought this chair to complete my home office, and it does a great job at providing a place to put my behind whilst I work. It’s sturdy, comfortable, and very easy to put together.
I found out the hard way that rollerblade wheels don’t work well on carpet after ordering the chair with these wheels – fortunately, the customer support team was very helpful and promptly sent me regular wheels.
It’s massively better than Songmic Office Chair Ergonomic OBN52BKUK, which I bought for the spare room (although one might expect all these things are built in the same warehouse and designed by the same people). Like that, the Sihoo is limited and a tad flimsy around the arms, but overall, unlike the Songmic, it’s overall a more comfortable sitting upright experience. The rollerblade-style wheels, which I’d never seen before on a chair, are of particular note: combined with the chair being fairly light, it’s very easy to move around, it’s like gliding, even on carpet. Ultimately, it is a cheap office chair, you go into it not expecting the best build quality, but to its credit it has decent lumbar support (far better than the Ikea Markus it replaced, and the Songmics), and just as crucially, a semblence of a headrest with a decent range of movement, which the Songmics lacks entirely. Frankly, I’ve used far, far worse chairs in professional offices back in the Before Times.
Build is pretty easy, and the package includes a spare of everything, and an actually useful allen key with a big grip. I’m hanging on to that for future reference.
My only real negative, even at this price point, is that while the back recline options are limited to two additional fixed positions as may usually be the case in these types of chair, neither of them feel right: even the 2nd position is a too far back for my taste, especially given the seat reclines with it, so it lifts your feet off the floor and you have to reduce the height, which is awkward as both are controlled by a single, dual-function lever.
Still, for 136, and knowing the mesh will inevitably be torn to shreds by the cat in a few years, as happened to the Markus—hence why I can’t risk even a second-hand Aeron—I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Have low expectations, it will beat them easily.
Bought this after owning one of those crappy gaming chairs that you just sweat in. This chair keeps you cool due to the mesh backing and is very comfy and supportive when gaming or working. I broke the last one by accident and have just purchased another one. These are a bit Pricey but I think it’s worth it if you are going to treat yourself to a new chair. 😀
Well, the chair allows me to sit comfortably and not worrying about back pain. So for me it works. It was easy to built and it feels sturdy.
I tried HERMAN MILLER SAYL CHAIR WHITE and Ikea office chair during the lockdown, but both of them not satisfied me well. My friend recommended me this chair and it surprised me. It got nice neck and back support and also you can have the arm support as well if you wanted. I think it is the best office chair I can get in this price range, less than 200! Highly recommended!
It was easy to assemble and feels nice and comfortable. In fact, it was so good that my wife bought a second one.
I’m removing a star, just because the second chair had the wrong sized shims (washers) for attaching the back to the chair base. Luckily I could find some replacements in a local hardware store (I was able to use a washer left over from the previous chair to find a match) but it was an extra load of faff I didn’t need!
But all in all, I’m more than happy. It’s comfortably firm, and adjusts well.
Be aware that the back angle adjustment isn’t continuous, but has a small number of locked positions. (Or it can be free-moving with a spring return of adjustable tension.)
The chair is well made and very easy to assemble.
The materials used appear to be of good quality, the seat is firm but supportive, the mesh backrest is very comfortable. The base is reasuringly solid and the castors allow easy movement of what is a fairly heavy chair, however the armrests are a little bit wobbly at the point of adjustment (not where they are fixed to the seat). In use the movement is barely noticeable, I’m just being very picky. It’s very comfortable, the adjustable head rest and lumbar support is a welome addition. How long will it last??? the $64K question…only time will tell.
Addition 29 Oct 21.
My chair developed a minor fault in the armrest.
I contacted Customer Services and I have to say the level of assistance I received was truly outstanding, a replacement part was dispatched very soon after I sent a couple of photographs of the fault.
The defective armrest has been fitted and the chair is now back to origional condition and by the way it’s still as comfortable as the day I assembled it.
Excellent chair, 1st class Customer Service, highly recommended
I needed a new chair for the home office and I’m very happy with the one I settled on. The box it arrived in was very heavy so I carried all the pieces upstairs and my 10 year old son and I had it put together in about 20 mins. It’s very comfortable with all the required adjustments where they should be. I’ve seen some reviews about a plastic-y smell and to me, it honestly smells no different or stronger than any other brand new item. This is perfect for own needs so I would definitely recommend i
Delivery came a week early.
To be honest some of the material of the parts looked cheap and it was smelly.
However I like how the screws and bolts clearly labled what is what and that it came with tool and a pair of gloves to assemble it did get dirty.
The instruction was straight to point, easy to understand, the assemble was straight forward even for me, someone who never assembled furniture before.
I liked the adjustment options of the chair, finally have a chair with head rest and recline felt great.
I didn’t like the seat cushion much, it felt very hard, after seating for a bit my butt felt sore And lumbar support was also quite hard. But with a think cushion it’s not too much of an issue.
At certain angles this chair also wobbles a tad.
My husband needed a good supportive chair for working at his desk and so I went on the hunt.
I saw this chair with its lumbar support, neck support and arm rests that could be moved up or down and saw that it was available in a fun colour instead of just black, and knew that I had to have it.
When it came, I went about setting it up. Now there are many components to this but the instruction leaflet provided gives you all the information you need to get the job done.
I did it by myself and it took about half an hour, mostly because of the unpacking of all the pieces but once set up, I was amazed at just how sturdy it is.
Someone commented that the arm rests aren’t sturdy enough but I found them to be just that. I don’t really know why that would be an issue… There’s never any need to put your entire weight down on the armrests but I’m sure that if you did they would perform just fine.
My husband was over the moon and says he no longer has that niggling lower back pain when he works at his desk. He is working at his desk more now that he has a great seat.
It’s definitely a great buy.
My partner and I have been working from home for a year now. He recently started having back pains which was an incentive to get proper chairs.
It’s been a couple of months and his back pains are gone.
For the price, this is a really great chair. I love the ability to swing back in the chair. We have a roomba so I have to roll the chairs out of the office once a week – they’re small enough to exit the doorway, and roll so smoothly that it’s not a bother. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great support at this price range.
For the price charged this is an absolute amazing chair. So comfortable to sit on and supports the back very well. I work long hrs on my computer and the whole time I enjoy sitting on it. So easy to assemble and instructions are easy too. Love it, love it.
Generally very pleased with this chair. It’s smart, comfortable and very easy to put together.
Some minor issues:
– I’m 6 foot and while sat upright I can’t get the headrest to go high enough to be comfortable. It only needed another inch or so of movement and it would be there… So if you are 5’11” or shorter this issue probably won’t affect you. Unfortunately I really couldn’t get it to sit right so I’ve just removed it.
– In the box I was given two left hand armrests. They are slightly different and once assembled it was immediately noticeable as the front of each armrest is slightly wider. Rather than reaching out to customer support I was able to dismantle one of the armrests and put it back together in the correct configuration.
A really great chair, comfortable and sturdy in all aspects.
I am 6’4 and find the chair to be comfortable enough to sit in all day, it adjusts to a really good height and I like the factvthe arm rests can adjust to different heights too. It has a reclining back rest that can be adjust to 3 different levels which I find to be very convenient and also includes lumbar support which actually does what it’s suppose to.
I’ve had 1 chair before and I can definitely say this is of a better quality and standard to that I would totally recommend
Quick delivery – easy to assemble by one person if balanced on the box it came in.
Pros:
Good lower back support, comfy arm rests with light padding, easily adjustable seat height and if you have ADHD (I do) it’s got a great ‘rocking feature’ 🙂 No annoying squeaks or rattles. Sturdy chair even with the foot rest kicked out.
Cons:
Upper part of back rest doesn’t lock quite upright enough, so you’re always slightly reclining.
I bought this based on reviews, as consistently appeared in top 10 reviews of chairs. Had a genric computer/gamer style chair which was not that good to sit in and most reviews say go for an office type chair instead on these.
Was really easy to put together. They provide all tools to fit including cloth gloves, as the washers have a little oil on to them to keep from rusting. All screws have an extra one incase you lose one. Took me 20 mins to put together. The only gripe I have is the adjustable armrests that move up and down and headrest wobble a bit, not quite a plush fit, but these don’t affect you whilst in use. Was just looking for something negative to say as no product is perfect. Had the chair for 2 weeks now and all good so far.
Received the chair within three days which much quicker than the expected delivery time. I was concerned about the assembly of the chair. However, the instructions, whilst very short and simple, are very clear and easy to follow. All the screws, shims and wrench are laid out very nicely in a pack and easy to match to the instructions. An extra of each screw and shim is provided and even a pair of gloves is added to keep your hands clean (not really needed though but a nice touch). I took it very slowly and it took barely 20 minutes to put together. It really was very straightforward.
On first seating it feels very comfortable and the lock and unlock for the tilt is very intuitive. The adjustable headrest and lumbar support are also excellent.
Will further update after using for a few days but a great start.
I was looking for a new office chair because I had to work from home and I went through a load of the really expensive ones. I tried the Herman Miller Aaron, the Humanscale Diffrient World & others, but returned the for different reasons.
Though the Herman Miller was obviously excellent, I didn’t think it was worth 1,000 so wanted to keep shopping around. I’m very glad I did as this one is just as comfortable / supportive but at a fifth of the price.
Obviously it’s not Herman Miller, but if you want a good quality office chair that does the job without breaking the bank then I can’t recommend this chair highly enough.
I have an issue with sciatica and needed a chair that had a good back support
This chair is very comfortable the arm rest height, head/neck rest, back and seat height are all adjustable. There is also a back support that you can adjust.
Quite heavy to assemble but I managed it single-handed. The instructions are just pictures and I struggled to understand how to attach the back but managed eventually!
Fantastic chair, considering the huge price difference it doesn’t feel much different in use to my Herman Miller in work – which is a huge compliment to something a small fraction of the cost.
Building it was quick and very straightforward, pleased to see they supplied extra bolts although none were needed. It’s solid, comfy and very adjustable, looks great and the upgraded rollerblade wheels are absoluutely fantastic – undoubtedly the highlight.
I used to work in a carpeted room but have since switched my home working space to a wood floor room, the wheels are silent and feel much smoother on the wood floor than my previous chair did on carpet. I’ve also avoided having to buy (oddly expensive) floor protectors, which from experience are a pain, and I need one set of wheels not two protectors for my desks. Note that the wheel upgrade will make the chair a few centimetres taller, but this isn’t a problem.
Excellent stuff, Sihoo!
So, I have to say that this Office Chair as it is marketed, its actually I would say both for gaming and office chair customers. I have a basic gaming chair for about 7 years and there was no back support and neither were there any head rest.
I know, I know that chairs have improved massively epsecially gaming. However, I would so reccomend to anyone who’s looking for back support adjustability and for any other adjustability to get this chair. It is pricey I won’t lie, but I wont be swapping for another chair for possibly another 7/8 years.
Really recommend to anyone who is a gamer or streams or works at a desk for more than 6/7 hours a day!
Was considering paying out for a Herman Miller, but the price is so great I baulked at it. This one seems similar for a much cheaper price, pretty happy with it, it’s comfortable and supportive though would prefer the armrests went lower. All round pleased with my chair.
Update 8th Mar 2021:
Having had the seat a while longer now, I can without a shadow of doubt say that it IS comfortable and has a lot going for it, but the lack of a total 90 degree angle leaves much to be desired. I don’t like the feeling of lounging ad that’s how it feels as my back is not up straight. If however you don’t mind that, this chair is great – really comfortable and the headrest gives a lot of options in terms of height and angle. The adjustability of the arms as well really makes this chair very customisable and able to adapt to different body types and sizes, I think.
I had an office chair before that didnt have a headrest so I bought this because I needed the headrest. It’s pretty and very comfortable to sit in. I like the lumbar support at the back. however, I am not impressed by the way that it keeps moving when you sit back. So when you set your tilt on an office chair and its at 90 degrees, the expectation is that it will be steady and stay at 90. This chair, however, moves back ever so slightly. And it is SO uncomfortable. I tightened the tilt tension bit at the bottom of the chair but that didn’t solve the issue I am referring to. I have found that if I keep my back arched and my feet square on the ground, then it is more upright, but that is not a position one can stay in for long. So gutted cos otherwise this is a really good chair. It could just be me being a nitpicker or whatever, but it really impacts my enjoyment of the chair.
All that being said, maybe instead of the funky one pedal feature for moving the chair forward and back, they should include another lever that actually locks the back of the chair in and keeps it from moving back.
It’s comfy other than this – love the hands and the height they can get up or down to. Sleek looking as well.
Product came very well packaged (and was surprisingly heavy!).
Construction took less than half an hour and was very straight forward.
There was 1 spare of each bolt and washer, and a very useable allen wrench which fit all of it.
Comfort wise, it’s very good, and it feels very spacious.
The seat itself is fairly firm, but in a reassuring way and is not uncomfortable.
The backrest has the perfect tension to it.
There is the usual up and down adjustment for the seat, and also a tensioner which makes it easier or harder to tilt backwards (you can also prevent this completely, or lock the seat at a tilt angle, by pushing the up-and-down lever “in” to the seat).
The lumbar support has reasonable vertical adjustment, and there is also a dial to adjust it forwards and backwards although I ended up with it at the “minimum” setting.
The armrests move up and down, and are comfortable to rest on, although I tend not to use them very much. The minimum height for them is about a handspan above the seat and you might find they foul the desk depending on your set up. I dropped my chair down a touch to avoid that, but could probably have removed them if it was too much of an issue.
The headrest is also a nice addition and not something I have had on an office chair before.
Overall, very very impressed, and a very comfortable chair.
The chair arrived sooner than i expected which was a bonus. Easy to assambled by one person within 20 min. The chair looks and feels sturdy and the upgraded wheels was all worth it as makes the chair very silent and easy when moving around. I opted not to have the arms installed due to personal choise but the chair still looks great. Lumbar support is good so far and the high back with with the head rest complete this chair. The seat is very comfy and wide which makes it even more comfy. I think the price reflect fairly the quality of this chair. We have an markus ikea chair at home as well and after testing boths this is the winner. Very pleased with this chair and the seller so far.
SIHOO Ergonomic Home Office Chair, Adjustable Headrest And Lumbar Support,High Back Executive Computer Chair,Upgraded to Rollerblade Wheels, 189.99
ORDER PLACED 16 January 2021 Delivered 19 Jan 2021
I’ve suffered With Back pain and Sciatica since a Fall in 1999 was forced to leave a Job as Security Officer been Online gamer since 1990’s and had many chairs including ‘Gaming Chairs’ Dining room chairs Wooden chairs plastic chairs.
Never had a chair quite like this, most gaming chairs have the Racing car style to them which isn’t great if you have broad shoulders and cushions that slide about allowing the user to slouch.
It’s easy to assemble, I had this chair assembled within minuets All the tools needed come with it fully adjustable headrest the arm rests despite appearances are a very firm cushioned material not hard plastic I opted for Rollerblade wheels as i use it upstairs on hard floor so they make less noise, they do travel a lot so I’ve purchased a small flat rug just big enough for the wheelbase.
Within the first week of owning this chair I fell asleep in it, I was not tired but it was so comfortable in the reclined position.
It’s nearly a month since i got this and used it every day for perhaps 12 hours a day
Highly Recommended. It really has made a difference in my pain management (I personally would like some removable covers for it though.)
The chair arrived very quickly and was easy to assemble – I did it myself in about 20 minutes. It feels solid and durable.
I have the rollerblade wheels and these dig into the carpet which makes it hard to move the chair whilst sitting in it. The tilt is either on or off, it isn’t possible to set a smaller rang of tilt. The full extent of tilt is quite far back which might be nice for a nap but too far for a mid-meeting ponder so i keep the tilt off which does still allow for a gentle recline.
Comfort wise it is pretty good. The seat is spacious and quite firm. It is comfortable for a while but numb bum does encourage you to get up every now and again, which is probably a good thing. The adjustable/removable lumbar support and head rest are nice features.
I am very happy with the chair and it holds my 6ft 4″ frame very well.
4 Stars because it isn’t perfect but I consider it a good value purchase
Update:
I’ve upgraded to 5 stars. After using this chair for a year I still love it and find other office chairs uncomfortable in comparison. One of the arm rests developed a small tear and the seller replaced it very quickly. So I can confirm excellent after sales support too.
My previous chair was a very comfortable leather lazy-boy type office chair. I decided to try a proper office chair for better posture. After reading many reviews, it was either this or the IKEA office chair. I was fortunate enough to at least try the IKEA one after the first lockdown and really wasn’t impressed with it, especially the arms.
Anyway, features i miss are a rocker that i had on my previous chair. The arms are comfortable and solid, however not very long and are a bit loose so they make a constant noise if you move your arms. I am by no means a skinny 5ft woman who i think this chair would be better for. I could do with another 2-3 inches on the length of the seat, it feelt like i am perched sometimes and not fully sat in it. After around 6hrs sitting on it, its time to have a good half an hour break and walk off that numbness.
On that positive side, the chair looks to be very well built. As long as the material lasts a good while then the chair won’t need replaced for a few years. Another small niggle is the headrest, it can move down all of a sudden, there isn’t anything to tighten it with, only notches.
Since owning the chair i have developed a stiff neck and dull pain in my shoulders, however this could also be a result of lockdown and spending a lot more time in the chair for work.
So… I absolutely love this chair, and after building it, I’ve just been lounging in it all afternoon with no lower back or shoulder pain! I felt compelled to write a 5 star review which is a very rare event for me. It has to be great for me to take the time to tell someone about it.
Overview:
A bit of background info, I’m a 5 ft 3 female and my whole working life, I have really struggled to find a suitable office chair due to being quite a short person. I have suffered with significant shoulder and back pain whilst sitting at any desks. Working in tech, I spend the majority of the day sat at a desk, furiously typing away.
The beauty of this particular chair is that it is fully adjustable to account for my lack of height. I considered gaming chairs before making this purchase, but decided against it, as I preferred the idea of a mesh back and adjustable lumbar support. The worst feeling in the world during summer is being unbearably hot and sweaty at your desk so I thought this would be a good solution to future proof myself for the upcoming summer months too. Great decision. You don’t stick to this mesh whatsoever, as the air circulation is great. I will also
Adjustable elements:
The lumbar support can move upwards and downwards, along with the point of contact with your back, which can also move inwards and outwards. The neck/head rest is height adjustable. The back moves back and forward when you’re sat in it, and there is an adjustable spring underneath to adjust the amount of tension to allow the back to stiffen up with your weight, or lean back without much resistance. The arm rests are also adjustable upwards and downwards. The foot rest is adjustable to length of leg size, and you can also set in a 45 degree angle mode. The seat is also height adjustable as you would expect with an office chair.
Assembly:
Easy to assemble and took less than 10 minutes. I actually couldn’t find the instructions (eventually found lost at the bottom of the box) and I was able to figure it out without them.
Build quality:
Very durable and has got some weight to it. It feels like a top quality chair straight out of the box. Base is very heavy metal, but it makes you feel like you’re sat on something that isn’t going to wobble around or warp.
Comfort:
I opted for the foot rest option and can honestly say it is a worthwhile upgrade. When this chair is in full incline mode with the foot rest up, in my opinion, it’s almost like sitting in a lounge chair. I will update this part of the review when I have utilised it as an office chair.
I would have no qualms in recommending this chair to anyone who has similar proportions and struggles to me, especially those who have found it difficult in the past to find a comfortable office chair.
After lots of research and trying to figure out how much you actually need to spend to get a decent chair I found this one and after reading the reviews decided it was worth the investment. I have not been dissapointed. The head rest is excellent for my neck, the chair itself is comfortable and adjusts in all the right ways. I don’t really bother with the lumbar support but that also has a decent range of motion.
The only small gripe is that the wheels rattle on my hard floors when I’m not sat on the chair. However, no such problems once I’m sat in it. If that’d be an issue for you then I recommend spending the small aount extra and going for the upgraded wheels.
Item was scheduled to come in 10 days time, arrived in just a few days. The chair was well packaged, the instructions were clear and all tools (hex/Allen key) provided. Also get spare just in case. The little work gloves was also a nice touch. It took about 10mins to put together. It is heavy and robust in construction. Everything adjustable. Word of warning- It is on the firm side, which might not appeal to all, but works for me (with 2 slipped discs, the adjustable lumbar support is good). The base also looked a little shiny from the picture, however, it is more of a brushed steel (more premium look/feel). It is early days, however, my experience thus far has been highly complementary and I’m hoping I will get some good and comfortable use of the years.
After 9 months of lockdown I finally decided to treat myself to a proper chair. While my previous 10 IKEA desk chair is an unfair comparison, this upgrade was better than I’d expected. The lumbar support has been great for my back and the neck support has actively encouraged me to sit upright. I’ve spent 12 hours+ at a stretch in this chair (lockdown hours, but no complaints) and I’ve walked away still feeling like my back was in one piece and had been well looked after. In short, I highly recommend this – it’s not the cheapest purchase but it’s fully worth it.
I spent a lot of time researching and this seemed the best-featured chair below 200.
Very easy to put together with straightforward instructions, a lovely tool and spare bolts and washers so everything covered. I even used the mesh gloves which was a good job as you do pick up some factory grime when building it.
The chair feels very sturdy and is very comfortable to sit in for an office day. The only thing is the casters are not as easy to roll across the carpet in my home office as my previous task chair.
That said, I still highly recommend it.
Decent chair all around although my chair came with some broken plastic off of the bottom of the seat. The headrest also doesn’t seem to have a natural fit for me regardless of what height I set it at, so I just use the chair with the headrest removed. Otherwise, it’s a very comfy chair, helps me sit down for longer than an hour without feeling major discomfort.
After months of working at the kitchen table, sitting on an old dining chair, my neck and back were really suffering. I didn’t have lots of money to spend so did some searching and this chair came recommended alongside others at nd 1k +. The chair is super easy to assemble and the adjustable arm rests, seat height and head rest meant that I could tailor it to my needs. All my neck and back pain disappeared within a week – so glad that I invested in what is a very well priced product. It also turned up early. Excellent value and a worthwhile purchase for all those working from home.
The chair arrived a lot earlier than expected and was very easy to assemble alone. I’ve been looking for a chair with this kind of support for a while due to trigger points in my upper back that fire up when I used to sit on the previous chair and made working/studying extremely painful. I just went from always thinking about my back pain to no pain whatsoever!
With this chair, I can sit up straight, or a bit tilted back if I want with my head rested on the head support while working on my desk. The head support is very adjustable, it can be moved forward/back, up and down.
Finally, another great feature of this chair is the lumbar support which can be height adjusted and moved forward or backwards. The chair is very easy to use, supportive and feels like it was last a long time.
Like so many others, my office is now in my home. I bought this chair on the recommendation of a colleague and it’s good, but slightly flawed.
The good – really easy to assemble. Very, and I mean very comfortable. I have napped in it in the reclined position.
The not so good – I’m 6’4″. I could do with the headrest being slightly higher. Not a show stopper, but would be one improvement I would make. The lever that controls the recline function does not always work. This component seems a little cheap when compared to the rest of the chair.
Overall, I’m satisfied but it could be improved with a couple of minor changes.
Would I buy again? I’m not sure. I think so. Overall, it’s really comfortable and I’m spending every working day sat in it.
I’ve had the chair for over a month now and it’s very supportive. The seat is very soft and I can sit in the chair all day with no back pain.
The assembly was fairly easy although better with two people because some of the parts are a little heavy.
I am a small person and would have liked to be able to adjust the armrests better to push them closer to the backrest because there is quite a gap where my elbows naturally fall. This is not a problem while I’m working though.
The headrest is nice and I had no problem with it being too high or low.
Delivery was very fast.
This is by far the best chair i have had. Its sturdy, comfortable, adaptable and reliable.
The wheels on the chair are the best i have yet to see, and the removability it flawless. (Unlike most Chairs that may get stuck and require more force to move)
How ever, the chair is quite heavy to lift, as half of it is made out of steel. This may be a problem for some people with a small build, but for me i dont mind it and i perfer the heavy steel for extra strength.
The adaptability of this chair is another one of its best features. As you can keep adjusting it until you have found your comfort zone.
I would recommend this to others if this is what you are looking for in a chair.
I purchased this chair on a Tuesday and received it on the Friday of that week. The chair was easily assembled and was quite simple. After a few hours of use I noticed it becoming slightly uncomfortable particularly in the neck position. However many others in my household tested this chair and commended its comfort so I don’t believe it was a deal breaker. I requested a return/refund and met with a lovely customer service worker called Jane. She explained that I could not return the chair but could have a refund of 60 for the inconvenience and keep the chair. Overall if the chair was comfortable in my own experience it would be 5* all the way around. Customer service and ease of assembly are 5* and could not have went smoother. If you enjoy a firm neck rest this is a perfect chair for you.
I bought this for my brother as he works in the office all day. He says it is comfortable and has improved his posture.
(He has has it for about 3 weeks). He also says he doesn’t get the back ache that he used to.
I have borrowed it this week to test for myself as I am considering buying it too. I really like the adjustable lumbar support yes, the arms do wobble a little as others have said but they are so much more comfortable than my own hard plastic armed chair.
I will buy this again for myself it there is an offer!
So, I wanted to wait a bit after reviewing this because I wanted to test it first. I have had this chair for around a month and used it every day as I am WFH and it has helped mitigate the constant back pain I had from the stupid chair I used before. It is adjustable on the arms, height, headrest and also has lumbar support height control. Let’s start saying it’s quite easy to build, even though lifting it for the final assemble has been quite hard because the top is very heavy. It angles A LOT when you lean. So much it will feel like you are always about to fall, but it’s very stable nonetheless and so satisfying to rock a bit when you are stiff for some time. So far is very good, I thought it would have been better but it’s probably me not standing much during the day that is causing me problems, not the chair itself. The only thing I would like to flag is that the locking system for the chair lean angle (don’t know how to call it) gave me quite a scare because it got stuck once! I discovered you can lock it at different angles, not only when upright, so I locked it when it was at full ‘aperture’ so to speak. Do not!! It got stuck for quite a while. Apart from that, the lumbar support is probably not at the right height for me I feel I might need some additional cushions or something for that. It’s a good one nonetheless. Very silent when sliding, has a nice colour (orange) and quality of materials, feels very sturdy.
I bought this for my home office knowing that I’ll be here for quite some time due to Coronavirus. It replaced a basic chair from Ikea. Assembly was very easy, it comes with an allen/hex key but its a poor quality one – though I’m sure it would have been good enough. I just rammed it all together with an impact driver. The quality of the parts is very good, it isn’t typical junk made of Chinesium. The lumbar support is great and the seat cushion is pretty comfortable. Adjustability and controls are decent. My main gripes would be with the arm rests. These can be adjusted up and down at your will, that’s fine. However they cannot be adjusted inwards/outwards without undoing the bolt attaching them and sliding them in/out and retightening. This is probably fine if you are the only person using the chair – just set them at the correct width apart and lock in. But if people of different sizes are sharing the chair this could be a pain. They also are quite hard, not so comfortable for resting elbows on. It would have been better for them to be cushioned, I might’ve given 5 stars in that case.
The chair came with a “prize card” where you scratch off and “win” a prize ($10 in my case). This is probably the same amount for everyone. However it seems to be a scam, you email in and they just ignore you.
I replaced an old chair for my home office that was killing my hips and back. This is a well made and comfy chair. Early days but I think the early impressions are very good. The chair arrived well packaged and it is clear that the makers have gone to a lot of effort to ensure good quality to their product. I put it together myself, but it would have been easier with help. So far so good.
As a result of the Pandemic, I was forced into a lot of home working, but my setup was not ideal (it was a bar stool) and it started to cause me back and shoulder issues. I started looking around for something that was reasonably priced, had good levels of adjustability, was durable and had favourable reviews amongst users. This seemed like a good fit, and after 5 months of usage, I can confirm that I no longer experience the same aches, and I’m very happy with my purchase. Compared with other office chairs I have previously used, this offers a great level of adjustment, plus the components look and feel sturdy enough to last. Only downside was that the box in came in was quite heavy! If you need to invest in a comfortable chair for home working, I fully recommend this one.
Like many, have been spending a lot more time at home working on the PC. Imperfections of usual chair (lower back pain/lack of lumbar support/poor armrests) soon became apparent. Cannot use right arm and hand due to nerve damage.
Did a fair bit of research before taking a punt on the SIHOO. Slightly left-field, but has proven to be just the ticket. Cannot but recommend: delivery; price; instructions and ease of assembly.
Have been using for eight weeks now, and no faults or issues. The quality is apparent.
The chair is solid, but not bulky and has improved my posture and as a consequence my back and neck pain are nearly gone, after a few weeks.
It was easy to assemble, unless you want to be super fast. The tool/key that comes with it was sufficient to fit all the screws. You only have to make attention to match the right and left harm rest with the correct side of the chair, I got it wrong the first time.
The head and back rests are easily adjustable and I a glad, as I am tall and wanted these adjustable to make sure they fit my back. The harm rests are not adjustable, but luckily are OK for me. I cannot comment on the pump to regulate the height, because once found the right position, I don’t need to use it that often, so only time can tell. So far I am super happy.
With the office closed until April 2021 I decided to invest in a good quality supportive office chair. I know the new chairs at work cost a tidy sum, so I didn’t expect to get that good quality for my budget. However, this is as good as the expensive chairs at work, and it cost a fraction of the price.
Assembly was maybe 30 minutes, with a nice pair of white gloves supplied to keep hands clean. Very impressed that they added a spare screw for each type of fitting, and the ‘allen’ key tool supplied was really easy to use (not like the ones you get from a certain Swedish furniture company).
The chair itself looks really smart, better than the pictures on the listing. The seat is wide and firm, but not uncomfortable. It feels solid, like it will do the job it is designed to do. I have adjusted the height of the arms to suit me perfectly, the lumber support and headrest are also adjustable.
I use this chair for 8+ hours a day, and then the cat uses it for a few hours each evening (a true sign of quality if the fussy cat loves it) and I just have to hoover up the cat hair each morning before work.
For the price I have to say I am delighted with the product. It took no more than a week from purchase to delivery, exceeding my expectations.
Thoroughly recommended.
Received the chair yesterday and assembled.
Instructions are simple enough and it can be assembled by one person but two people would make it easier especially when fitting the back and lowering onto the strut
First impression wasnt good until when I realised you have to tension the back to stop you falling over backwards! But I still wasnt convinced and could see me trying to package a fully assembled chair for return.
It took a while to work out how to lock the backrest in place (next day) and this is my bug bear …. no instructions (in English). The Assembly instructions are adequate but there is no indication how to use the lever to adjust the seat heat and lock the back rest (Needed!).
Update1:
After 24 hours I think I will be keeping the chair and will update my review after I’ve used the chair for a few weeks. Off to find instructions/YouTube video on how to use a chair!!!!
Update2:
Received instruction video from reseller. Very useful and needed
As for the warranty – as for SIHOO saying they wont provide support if you dont buy from them – thats fine. Buy from anyone else for less – you are still protected by the retailler /Amazon and for 12 months sthe same as SIHOO (theya rent giving you any more than your consumer rights in the UK) . Saved me 15
This office chair is amazing value for money. With all the features of brands like Herman Miller (Aeron) but not at the ridiculously inflated price. Not only is it comfortable, very adjustable and solid, but it looks great too. Assembly is a little tricky but actually way easier than your average Ikea flat-pack. The instructions have words, all the tools (well “the” tool!) is supplied and there are spare bolts and washer in case of loss / breakage. Thoroughly recommended!
Excellent product backed up by the company who manufacture it. Clear instructions making it a breeze to assemble – 20 minutes approx. Bolts and washers all had 1 extra than needed, great little touch.
The chair itself is a great product, sturdy and comfortable with plenty of varying kinds of adjustment, only thing I’d say against the chair is maybe the arm rests could be slightly more comfortable, there is a slight dip/curve which when arms are placed directly forward is comfortable but as I need to angle my arm slightly to use my mouse this can be uncomfortable but this is the only draw back I found.
Customer service was also excellent with great communication.
I have been to many shops to try out office chairs, afraid that buying a chair like that online is a bad decision making process. However, some chais were too big, some were almost there, but were uncomfortable in neck area or elsewhere, so I gave up and decided to order whatever online. Then I found this chair – highly customisable one but decently priced so I decided to give it a go. I liked a lot the fact that it has a support for the neck, and that you can modify the support for the back as well, but also that it comes in orange colour! (pretty tired of plain old black office chairs) I was worried that the chair might be too big for me (160cm < 50kg) but actually because of the customisation, it worked out pretty well and it was much better then any chair I tried in the shops. Honestly, don't know how long it will last, but it looks sturdy to me, so I definitely recommend it 🙂
Had this about a month now for working from home. Did a lot of research and chose this one because it has some good features and great reviews. Easy to put together and I’m finding it really comfortable and supportive, even when sitting in it for 7/8 hours a day.
The height-adjustable arms do wobble from side-to-side a bit which I find annoying but I would still highly recommend this chair for the money and don’t think you will find much better.
EDIT:
I contacted the seller and they sent me a replacement part
~~~~~~~
Overall this is a comfortable chair, however, the reason i have given it such a low rating is because the lumbar support is useless. The adjustable lumbar support does not stay in place, and instead just slowly slides down to the lowest position while your sitting in it
I’m unsure if i have a faulty chair or if this is a design fault of the chair, but either way, i expect better from a 200 chair.
Like many I’m now working from home full time and my previous chair was becoming uncomfortable during extended use.
Did some research and this came highly reviewed for when you don’t have Herman Miller money.
Aside from being comfortable the nice surprise with this was ease of assembly the provision of spares for every bolt and shim and an Allen key tool with a proper handle that doesn’t strip your skin!
Add in a pair of gloves so you don’t get any residue or oil on you and I was up and sat on a comfy new chair in under 20 minutes.
I’ve had this three days and am pleased so far. It is large, solid, comfy and was easy to assemble. My only complaint is that the castors seems a bit cheap and flimsy in comparison to the rest of the chair. Reading other reviews it seems two sets of castors were provided in the past but I neither expected or received two sets. However the set I do have don’t run smoothly on my carpet and so I’m going to purchase a better set of castors – a small and easy to perform upgrade.
Otherwise this chair is just what I wanted and I’m pleased with my purchase. Even in three days it has helped with the back pain I was starting to suffer from working from home without a proper chair. This does the job for me – 185cm tall, 90kg.
Due to Coronavirus I am working from home a lot more. Spending several hours a day sat in my home office. I wanted a supportive chair like the ones we have in the office that also had adjustable lumbar support, head rest and armrests. I asked at work and the ones they order were several hundred pounds. Took a chance on this and it has been fantastic. Ticks all of those boxes and feels top quality. It was incredibly easy to put together too, even easier than the smaller chairs I have brought from that well known Swedish brand. Highly recommend this chair if you are looking for the same supportive office chairs corporate companies purchase but don’t want to spend several hundred pounds.
I’m 6ft 2 and for me this chair fits well, the headrest can move up and down and the top of the seat is almost level with my shoulders so my back is supported all the way. The armrests move up and down but do not move forwards and backwards, you can raise the height of the seat via a lever on the side which is good and you can also tilt the chair on a rocker if you wanted to sit straight or at a 45 degree angle, though who works at 45 degrees i’m not sure.
The chair looks stylish which was important to me as I do content creation and film around my desk set up. So far it seems well build and fairly robust and despite reading some criticism of the seat comfort I actually find that aspect really comfortable.
Sadly there is a BUT, I’ve used this for a week now and at first the support from the lumbar back support feels great, it definitely does the job of supporting the lower back and you can move it up and down and forwards and back depending on how much support you want. The BUT is the firmness of this lumbar support, as I sit now its really prominent and I can feel it almost digging into my lower back despite being as far back as it allows. The problem is there is no way of getting rid of this feature and to be honest its already at a point where I’m considering emailing SIHOO to ask about returning the product. It’s almost like there has been a trade off where they have opted for maximum support and minimal comfort.
I’ll update on things in time.
I have owned this for 10 days and have to say, for the money I struggle to imagine it’s possible to do much better. The basic seat design, controls, construction quality and appearance are all feel high end. I got the model with the footrest upgrade – it’s a well implemented addition and feels robust, so I can kick back and properly chill when I’m not working.
It’s easy to put together and as others have noted, the instructions are good. A single allen key tool (provided) is all that’s needed to assemble and spare bolds are included, which is a really nice touch. Took me about 15 mins to have it out the box and fully put together.
Time will tell but it all feels solid to me; I can see this lasting just fine.
Firstly, this is a very supportive & easy to assemble chair (but ideally, you need two people). It looks great but mine arrived with some issues. Given the enormous problems I had to actually receive it, I decided that returning it would just be further hassle so I’ll live with the issues. Minor they might be, but I believe I paid for a reasonable standard. (Post review note: complaint dealt with satisfactorily by Vendor who offered a goodwill gesture). Some faux chrome finishes are scratched & show some tarnish but the chrome base arrived with a minor dent as the box had clearly had a hard transit & was holed in two places & crushed in another. Not good. Also, delivery was a nightmare with two wasted days when the shipper, DPD, said they’d deliver but didn’t & as I found out DPD’s customer service is non existent – you can’t talk to anyone & they don’t answer their online forms either. The Vendor tried to help too. Not withstanding the above, cautiously recommended as it is very comfortable & generally good quality. Post review note. Upgraded to 4 stars – the writer is of a burly prop forward build & this chair is very, very comfortable.
I have been looking for a chair for a while and found this one in a review. Well I was not disappointed. It arrived promptly and was really easy to assemble.
It just feels comfortable the moment you sit in it – It also got a positive mention from my partner! So five stars all the way. You can read about all the adjustments yourself. Needless to say it feels like quality and is very sturdy, in effect great value for money.
I got it in orange and love it. I also had to contact customer services who were brilliant and everything got sorted very promptly and easily. A real pleasure to deal with.
I am very surprised with this chair ! Having taken weeks if not months looking for a good but reasonably priced home office chair – this is more than I hoped for.
I have really suffered from a sore neck and back during lockdown and it’s difficult to find a chair with an adjustable headrest at a reasonable price so this seemed to tick all the right boxes when I took the plunge and ordered it last week.
It’s arrived in only a few days later and took me and my daughter about 20 minutes to put together ( looks a bit scary in pieces in the box but it is really straight forward so do not be afraid)
I also love the orange colour – it’s part of my home and I didn’t want a boring black chair so at least this stands out and looks stylish too.
Overall it’s very well made and a solid construction – absolutely delighted !!!
It is often the case that it is only when things go wrong that the sellers show their true colours. Sihoouk did a very good job of fixing a problem I had with this product. I responded to the company, which is based in China (I am in the UK) and they very promptly responded and I got a new part. They were prompt in their responses and took a friendly and pragmatic approach to solving the problem. A pleasure to deal with. The chair itself is very good – sorted out my back problems. It was also quick to assemble. And to dissassemble and reassemble with the replacement part. I will be getting a second one for my wife as she keeps on ‘borrowing’ mine.
Bought this chair as the previous one caused back pain once I started working from home and was spending 8 hours a day in it.
I was a little wary of the reviews on Amazon, but saw that it was recommended in a gaming magazine, which made me more confident about the comfort levels I could expect. In that review, their number two choice cost over 1k. Have been using it for a few weeks now, and very happy about it, the quality and ease of putting together, and the fact that it has supported my back really well.
Opted for the orange chair to get away from boring black. Delivery was supposed to be a couple of weeks, however it came within a few days, which was very welcome.
Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend on the basis of the last few weeks.
This chair was bought for working from home and overall I’m very happy with it! It can be easily adjusted to suit the user, it has a smart feel and I would say it is good value. Had an initial hiccup when the backrest was pushed back with the seat adjustment lever in the locked position. The backrest became stuck as did the tension adjustment knob, however thankfully someone managed to unlock it and solve the problem. Now I and my family understand better how not to use it, I think the chair will serve it’s purpose really well. I had a good customer service experience with SIHOO, the chair arrived within 48hrs of ordering. When I contacted them about the backrest issue, they offered advice and also a refund although thankfully this was not needed in the end.
I am working from home as are many of us. My dining room chair is fine for an hour but not a 6-7 hour siting.
Wanted a chair that would move and take the strain of hours in front of the screen.
This is certainly not the cheapest of chairs but it is defiantly worth the extra money, it fits in the back bedroom fine not great on the carpet but 100% better the my dining room chair. Very easy to put together good instructions and came with its own tools. Will take it to work if we ever get back as its so very comfortable – can recommend
Really injured my back due to working from home and not really exercising much. My old chair had 0 back support so I decided to take the plunge and purchase this chair. It had an estimated delivery of a month – it turned up 2 days after I ordered it. Really easy to build and really really comfortable.
The lumbar support was quite uncomfortable at first, even when retracted fully in and you cannot remove it. However after coming back after a couple of days (didn’t really use it over the weekend) it was fine and it’s really comfortable now.
The head reset is really adjustable – I’m 6’0 and it’s perfect for me. Would highly recommend this chair to anybody spending a long time sat at their desk.
Firstly – the delivery. I thought (having read multiple reviews on amazon, online and in a broadsheet) that this was worth waiting for (delivery time was not due until 13 August. 20th July and chair arrived – 2 days after ordering. That is really pleasing.
Very easy to assemble and seriously comfortable – on par with the Herman Miller which was well beyond my budget. The chair feels and looks much more expensive than the amount paid. So far delighted.
Pretty well supported, but I still find that towards the end of the day I start to “climb onto the chair and tuck my feet in” (I doubt I’d do this was a perfect chair!)
I’m quite slim, so the arm rests are a bit too far apart – during assembly it is possible to the distance between, but even at the narrowest they’re too far for me to use both at the same time!
Some good feature for back support, like an adjustable lumber bar.
Firstly this is a very comfortable ergonomic chair. The assembly was pretty straight forward and the required tool is included in the package. The washers and screws are all included with a spare each. There is even a small white glove for the assembly – nice touch. My daughter enjoyed playing with the gloves.
The chair itself is pretty solid and doesn’t feel cheap.
The delivery was super QUICK! The Amazon estimated delivery was over three weeks, but it was delivered within two days! That was nice!
The chair does come with a scratch card “raffle draw”, and in order to get your winnings, you’d have to send a picture of your order number and the scratch card and write a review: nice gimmick to get reviews.
I can’t fault the chair though. I am pretty pleased with its quality, comfort and speed of delivery!
First of all, the product arrived much quicker than advertised on Amazon (within a few days rather than a few weeks). This might just be because of the current pandemic, however.
The chair was easy to put together, and fairly hefty, quite a bit heavier than most other office chairs I’ve used in the past.
Unfortunately, due to my sensitive back, the chair gave me a back ache. I contacted customer support and they were able to sort my issue out promptly, and for that I commend them.
A comfortable and reassuringly solid chair with a premium feel. The chair is relatively compact in terms of width, but still has generous seat space and the groves in the adjustable armrests and a simple but useful touch. As a tall person (6″2) the inclusion of headrests often puts me off, as on many chairs they only reach as far as my shoulders and can actually become a hindrance. This chair has a tall back and the headrest on this unit can be heightened further and the angle can be adjusted, so I can rest my head comfortably on it. The seat cushion is dense and supportive.
It was delivered very promptly and is relatively easy to put together. The only minor gripe I have is that the recline lever is a little fiddly (you have to rock forward slightly to unlock it before reclining). But as I rarely recline, this is not a big issue.
Big problem is the backrest is not straight. I tried my best to make it straight, it is not becoming straight. I have to use pillow to make my back straight. Due to this, I have to lean back a bit to place my head. Actually I wanted to give 3.5, but it is allowing me to give either 3 or 4 and not in between. Hence gave 4. I need immediate help to make this straight. Any help from the SIHOO company will be highly appreciable. Thanks
Like the rest of the world I have begun working at home in the past months. I have most of the kit I need for this but after a few weeks I realised my old, somewhat battered, secondhand chair was not up to scratch.
Looking for recommendations is a tricky business, trusted sources are few and far between online. Eventually I settled on a shortlist and the SIHOO was on it. Buying a chair without an opportunity to sit in it is a voyage into the unknown. I would normally have visited bricks and mortar stores to test the options but a pandemic lockdown means that was not possible.
I have had this for a couple of weeks now and after spending 9-4.30 sitting on it each weekday I can tell you it is all I hoped for at this price point. You can easily spend a grand on an office chair but that is beyond the reach of many like me. For less than 200 this chair is teriffic.
Once assembled (took me about 35 minutes, less if you have an electric drill or screwdriver with the appropriate Allen key bits) it feels sturdy. You can adjust height, arms (independently if you desire) back and lumbar support. There is also a headrest which I don’t use much during the working day but is nice when you tilt back and relax with book or something once your work is done.
I can recommend this for folk on a budget, it feels more premium than the price point. I would also point out that when I ordered delivery was timed at three weeks. Someone must have been working overtime as it arrived within three days!
Great quality chair and improving back ache after only a few days of use. Very easy to put together, comes in 6 seperate pieces 13 bolts and your done! Comes with Chuck/Allen key with a sturdy plastic grip so very easy to tighten up properly.
Chair has a premium look and feel to it, all the parts are well made and overall it’s a heavy chair.
Loads of adjustments can be made to get the perfect sitting posture. Headrest positioning is something I have never really been bothered about but does make a difference. You can easily and smoothly adjust everything.
Took 10 mins to put together. Ideal in home or work office environment and to be fair better than any chair I’ve ever been supplied with!
Stop scrolling and buy
My office chair was on its last legs and so I looked at various reviews for “best office chair”. The SIHOO Ergonomic chair came up many times (even against the lofty heights of Herman Millar chairs). It came in good time (much earlier than the estimated dispatch date given) and was very easy to assemble. I feel very well supported and can comfortably work away on this chair.
We needed a chair that would suit two users of very different height. The adjustments provided by this chair – height, tilt, arm rest level etc, give us a very comfortable and useful office chair to use at home. This is a very good value product, solidly made.
My concern about buying a product made in China is the assembly and user instructions are sometimes confusing and occasionally incomprehensible. I need not have worried. I was very impressed by the very clear instructions and the packaging of all the components, ranking with the best self assembly instructions I have ever received. The set of bolts and shims including the only tool was well marked with the sizes and numbers matching the written instructions. The gloves were a nice touch.
Assembly was straightforward and took me about half an hour, working slowly and methodically. Attaching the back to the seat was the only slightly difficult part. It has to be connected to the underside of the seat, so the seat is
upside down and needs to be well above the floor.
It arrived way quicker than I’d expected (especially as we’re still in lockdown right now for future readers). I assembled it on my own and it was easy enough, though I can see how having a second person at a couple of stages might make it a bit easier. The only thing I’d mention is look for the arrows on a couple of components which indicate which direction is the “front” if you’re a little unsure! This isn’t mentioned in the instructions, but I found them quickly enough when I wanted to be sure I was assembling the right way around. I’ve got back problems which is why I got a seat like this, and it’s been encouraging better sitting habits so far, I’m still tweaking a bit since I’ve never had a seat with this level of adjustment before, and I’m working out what works best for me, but I’m really pleased with this so far. I’ll update this review if anything changes or I discover any tips!
I’ve been experiencing back pain for the last few weeks due to home working for corona virus pandemic. My chronic scogliosis is certainly the main cause and eventually the lower back pain moved into my left sciatic nerve. The sharp and deep pain of the longest nerve in our body is unbearable. I could not lift my left leg, struggled to sleep or bend. I’ve moved from one chair to another to the sofa or a soft ball but nothing would release my pain. Then this chair arrived and alongside a Tanness Comfort Therapy Orthopedic Gel Seating Cushion bought on amazon a few weeks before, my back pain is close to none now. Home working would not be possible without this chair. Sometimes I sit on it to watch TV too because it’s the most comfortable seat in the house now. It was extremely easy to assemble, done by myself. I’ve adjusted it to my desk (armrests, lumber support, hight and back support). You can adjust the back bouncing and it’s just perfect for a long office day at home! Very happy with my purchase. Good value for money (just over 200)
I would like to preface this by saying that despite the current global situation, the delivery was excellent once it had been dispatched and very timely.
As for the chair itself, out of all the chairs I’ve had under 300, it has the largest amount of adjustable features, required for a good ergonomic experience and long sitting, as well as providing adequate comfort.
Headrest has rotation tilt around the base in a forward and backward motion as well as the ability to elevate the headrest.
Arm rests are maneuverable up or down and have a crevace which provides comfort for the forearms. They cannot however be adjusted inwards or outwards away from the body, as some more expensive chairs facilitate.
Lumbar support can be positioned up or down the back of the chair as well as the depth of the support being adjustable.
Seat depth I do not think can be adjusted however.
Due to the material the seat seems to be made of, it would appear as though it would survive a fair amount of long use before needing any replacing or reupholstering.
Gas lift failed after a year, everything else looks ok. I am not heavy, around 80kg (~12.5 stones), a little disappointed by this.
Update: the seller contacted me and said that they replace the manufacturer of the lift. and if this is true the chair is good, all other parts are still going strong and comfortable.
Had the chair now since May and have to say it was a good purchase. The choice of two different types of castor was a real benefit. I have spent several hours at a stretch on the chair with no discomfort.
The only complaint is the headrest which is flimsy in its construction and execution. BUT not uncomfortable in everyday use. Just kind of detracts from the overall professionalism of the chairs construction. It is well made with quality materials, exc the headrest, and I would highly recommend SIHOO Ergonomic Office Chair. Importantly the cushion feels like new even after all the work it has done – although a home purchase it gets used most days and looks as good as the day I bought i
I use this product at work, which at the moment involves alot of sitting at a desk. I have lower back issues. The assembly is possible to achieve on your own as long as you have some counter space/desk space to rest the chair while assembling, but would be far easier with assistance. It doesn’t take too long, maybe 25 minutes.
When assembled really good adjustability height wise, at the neck rest and most importantly excellent lumbar support. Experts saying sitting is not healthy, but if you have to, this chair offers an option which at least feels supportive, comfortable, hey maybe even healthy??? – but I’m no expert!!
Update: One year on from purchase used practically daily, no signs of wear and tear, very durable and definitely an excellent acquisition.
One day in, and I’m very satisfied with my new chair. Support and comfort levels are good, although it would possibly benefit from a bit more padding on the seat. As a tall, overweight man with dodgy joints, needing to sit at a desk all day, this is clearly my crucial concern. Early indications are good.
It arrived in a single box, that looked as if it had had a hard life. Inside however all was well. Nice, albeit not very useful, touches were the included white (child-sized) gloves, and a plastic box cutter helpfully taped to the outside of the box. Much more useful was the blister pack containing all the bolts and washers – including spares – labelled with their size. Easy to ensure that the correct fastener was being used. Assembly was straightforward, and took about 30 minutes. End result feels substantial and looks good.
All in all, I’m satisfied with the purchase (and the research that preceded it).
Fast delivery of quality office chair. Item well packaged in large box and comes with all tools to build chair, white gloves to keep your hands immaculately clean and even a plastic cutter to open the box!
Instructions and parts are very clear and chair assembled in about 30 mins. Only needed second pair of hands for final set up for about 5 mins.
The chair is very comfortable with multi adjustments to make it a personal comfy fit. I work at home for a number of days a week and this chair is very comfortable and a very high quality office chair. Buy with confidence.
Easy to assemble, all the correct bits, head rest has broken off because i over screwed it when i assembled it (it is a bit of a flimsy design to be fair), but the chair so so comfortable i don’t care. I suppose i should qualify that, I have a long term bad back and work from home so need to sit for hours on end and risk back pan everyday, This chair is the most comfortable i’ve used and i’ve not had a day of pain since i bought it so i honestly don’t care about the headrest. didn’t even think about sending it back, just be careful when you screw the head rest o
Great chair. I spend about 8 – 10 hours a day at my desk. I have had a bad back for years (what a surprise!). I have tried various chairs. I ordered this with no great expectations. It was easy to assemble even for me. They even send you all the tools (just as well) and a pair of gloves. It is so comfortable and supports my back and neck. I am so much better and I do not rise from work in discomfort. It is a first class product and well worth the money.
I was mesmerized with the design and quality of the chair initially. Thinking finally I have found what I needed. It is elegant, comfortable, keeps me upright and can lean back to a comfortable degree. I have this chair for less than a month and the lean back feature stopped working, every time I lean back, it automatically pushes me forward (and yes I do use the leaning handle correctly to adjust the position and set it). So, now it’s just a plain office chair. I would suggest finding something cheaper.
EDIT: The seller contacted me and gave instructions in how to solve my problem. Doing so I have back my good chai
Assembly was fairly straight forward with all the tools required to complete the job including two different types of hex keys. One of which was a lot more comfortable for tightening bolts. All of the screws were clearly labeled which made the process easy and each type came with a spare which is great. That said, time could be saved with a few simple arrows on each of the chair pieces as it is very easy to end up connecting parts pointing back to front instead of front to back.
From a support perspective, there are good options, adjustable lumbar support, and slightly adjustable headrest as well as movable arms and chair height. Unfortunately, comfort is a bit of a mixed bag, the base is great, however the lumbar is barely cushioned at all so can feel quite uncomfortable at times.
As for build quality overall, the product feels well made, the only criticism would be a slight wobble although this could be down to the assembly. I’ve given this 4 stars overall as it provides great value for money, at just under 160 I would happily recommend this chair for anyone spending a reasonable amount of time at a desk.
Tl::dr;; easy enough to assemble, hella adjustable, hella comfy, quite slim so takes up little room
Needed to hook myself up with a new chair after I started getting a bit of a sore back with my old one. This one’s been just what the doctor ordered! It came well packaged with clear instructions and all the tools and bolts necessary were included, and there was a spare of every bolt and washer incase one went missing as they tend to do 😉 easier to assemble with 2 people though so one can hold the bigger pieces in place whilst the other bolts it down.
The adjustability on it is almost limitless. The armrests can do up and down; the headrest can go up, down, left and right; the lumbar support can go up and down; thw chair height can (obviously) go up and down; the chair backrest tension can be adjusted. Spent around five minutes setting everything to my exact body shape and it feels really good.
I found it nice and comfy with a wide base and armrests so I never felt squeezed in it, and I can easily sit on it for hours. It’s got a slim profile though so it doesn’t take up a lot of space in my small room either. I’d personally say it’s worth i
I needed a replacement for my 5 year old office chair, so I figured I would at least get a decent replacement. I received it in the mail a couple days ago and I’m not regretting it so far.
1. Very comfortable to sit in for more than a couple of hours (my old chair caused me mild back pain after an hour of sitting). The breathable mesh back keeps me fairly cool in my otherwise hot office.
2. Easy to follow instructions. It only took me 30 minutes to put it together. I suggest attaching the back onto the bottom bracket before installing it to the seat unless you have a second person around to help. You also might want to check the shims before you start construction. There are only a few that fit the large screws (I had to take 3 screws back out just to get the right shims).
3. Included everything you needed to put it together. They even threw in some mesh gloves if you don’t want to get your hands dirty!
4. The mostly metal construction feels very sturdy and like it will last.
5. Adjustable height arm rests are super nifty. Especially when you’re switching between different height desks like me on a regular basis.
6. The casters are very quiet and easy to roll. I can pretty much roll across the office in dead silence if I want.
Overall I’m happy with it so far. I’ve sat in more expensive chairs similar to this price and this chair doesn’t seem too far behind. It’s definitely worth the extra cash over the basic task chairs you’ll find everywhere. I’ll keep this review updated down the road depending on how well the chair holds up for me, but I think it should be okay for a long time. Cheers!
The package had arrived in a very convinient box where it came with all the tools i needed to set up the chair even included pair of gloves to make it easier to hold the tools. The guidance was also very clear. And when it comes to the product itself the chair is extremely comfortable and as i work from home i had already spent several hours on it. The back supporter and the neck supporter of the chair is a bonus as it makes me feel even more comfortable when i lay back to take a little rest of work. The adjustable settings works fine aswell. Couldnt fault it. Absolutly loving my new chair.
