Have this running as a OPNSense firewall for the house. More than capable of gigabit throughput even with ad blocking and basic IPS.
Would advise running the firewall as a Virtual Machine on Proxmox though rather than bare metal.
Originally had it bare metal as was concerned about losing performance but discovered yesterday that there’s a hardware/driver bug with the Intel NIC that completely kills PPPoE throuput. Got to spend last night rebuilding it all as a VM to work around the problem .
However I can now confirm that there’s no noticeable drop in performance when running as a VM and can now easily get 900Mb/s throuput on both of my internet connections.
Only recommendation would be to consider upping the RAM to 16Gb instead of 8. Still working fine but it’s a little bit tighter than I’d like once Proxmox takes 2GB for itself.

This review relates to my purchase of the fanless STRHIGP firewall mini pc with 4 network ports, 8GB RAM, 120GB SSD and RS232 serial comm/console port. It is worth noting that the four NICs are Intel based which is important for my use case.
I purchased this device with the intention of installing and configuring pfsense v22.05
as a backup router/firewall for my Netgate WAN router. The spec of this purchase is somewhat overkill for pfsense, but this was intentional in case I needed to repurpose the device. The install went smoothly. Using the RS232 port & ‘PUTTY’ app on my laptop, the console monitor worked perfectly. I accessed the pfsense webgui via my laptop browser to complete the detailed configuration of the router. Note that there may be compatibility issues with pfsense and the built-in wireless adapter, but for me I don’t require this function.
So far I am very happy with my purchase, especially as the price & spec of the STRHIGP router
is favourable compared to other equivalent hardware options. I have been in contact with STRHIGP customer support on a couple of occasions & received prompt responses each time.
Finally, customer support confirms the unit has a 3 year warranty although I’m not sure how the return process works.
The only negative is the lack of detailed hardware documentation or a dedicated website.

EL PC calidad precio me parece excelente es silencioso poco consumo. Envio rapido bien empaqueta. Sin coste aadidos de aduanas. No trae office. No tiene altavoz interno. El PC calienta muy poco sin ventilador va genial. Fuente de alimentacion tampoco. El windows que trae viene en ingles y hay que entrar en los ajustes para configurar al espaol es bastante simple. Tiene un buzzer dentro que hace un bip molesto cuando se enciende pero con poner un pegatina encima ya suena mucho menos. El vendedor responde bastante rapido a cualquier pregunta y son atento y educado.

En la caja, 1 cable hdmi 1m buena calidad, 2 kit tornillos soporte vesa y soporte disco duro extra sis se lo quieres poner, 1 conector macho 14pin del gpio, 2 antenas wifi rp sma, 1 kit cables sata con alimentacion, 1 kit alimentacion pc 12v 6a cbles de 1,2m buena calidad no clienta no hace ruido no tiene ventilador, Verifique la toma de tierra y esta bien recorre todo el circuito dese el enchufe principal hasta el gnd de la alimentacion, en cambio los chasis de usb puerto com no parecen estar a tierra, 1 soporte vesa.
Para poner un disco duro extra hay un lugar para el quitando los 4 tornillos de la tapa de abajo. El cable es el que viene incluido con el pc(entra un poco justo hayq ue poner de lado como en la foto no forzar no doblar). Es para formato 2.5″. Hay un pequeo jumper que en principio esta bien configurado para alimentar un posible disco duro extra pero si no te funciona puede que sea eso mira mis foto como esta el jumper. Cerca del conector de alimentacion del sata extra.
4G: Tiene soporte para la SIM pero es necesario agregar (no incluido) una tarjeta de red 4G cada pais tiene su tipo por eso debes comprarlo en el pais donde vives. Claro que eso no es imprestindible solo sirve para conectar tu pc a internet con una conexin mvil. Yo no lo uso pero esta bien tener la posibiliadad nunca se sabe. Te puede ahorar tner que usar un router 4G si donde vives no hay adsl ni fibra.
Windows 11 Pro viene incluido y validado no hay que validar ni nada especial. Se actualiza normalmente. Antivirus de windows funciona bien. Ojo debes tener en cuenta que viene un Inlges y hay que entrar en la configuracion para cambiar el idioma. No es complicado pero es necesario si no quiere windows en Inlges.
Ir a Settings-Time&Languages-Add-Langauge- luego ahi instalar Espaol. Luego click en los 3 puntos, en download. basic tuning, hanwriting,speech, installed keyboard, spanish qwerty.
Win11 es muy parecido a Win10 en su uso pero algunas cosas te va a toca las cuerdas pero fianlmente se puede acostumbrar. No es un cambio drastico.
Fecha y hora es necesario configurar la fecha y hora. como UTC +1 bruselas.. para Espaa por ejemplo. En pais y region debes poner Espaa. Formato de fecha puede elegir lo mismo.
Office, no trae yo solucion instalando onlyoffice que es gratuito para uso domestico. Estoy encantando puede editar Excel por ejemplo. Y compatible con un monton de nubes nextcloude etc…
Altavoces, no tiene altavoces ese pc.TIene que conectar unos altavoces externo o monitor que los tenga.Hay HDMI y salida jack 3.5mm stereo audio para eso. Puede poner ahi tambien unos auriculares si lo prefieres. Tiene entrada de micro tambien jack de 3.5mm.
El boton de encendido delantero sirve logicamente para encender pero si lo pulsas por accidente quitando un usb como me tiene pasado. No es grave el pc solo entra en modo suspendido y al vovler encender vuelve donde estaba sin perder nada de lo que tenias (si no se va la electricidad claro).
En el modo de configuracion de energia de windows he puesto la cpu de 4%min a 15%max y va muy rapido igualmente. SI lo usas para ver videos, visitar web, excel, codigo arduino, y ese tipo de cosas este pc va sopbrado.
RJ45 internet la mayor diferencia con mi viejo pc la note al abrir una pagina web va ms rapido eso siempre es agradable.
Si llegaste hasta aqui, de regalo una pequea lista de mis programas favoritos. Sumatra pdf para abrir los pdf super simple y ligero. XnView editor de imagenes y foto. OnlyOffice para excel y documentos, Shadow Drive para la nube 20Gb gratuitos y servidores en Europa. Getpaint net editor de imagenes un paint muy mejorado. 7Zip para comprimir y descomprimir casi todos los formatos. Firefox con la extencion duckduckgo buen navegador. Telegram en el movil y pc para intercambiar documentos facil enviando a tu chat de mensajes guardados.

Great little computer. I am really glad I bought it as it runs OpenBSD 7.2 out of the box. The only thing to be aware is that you really need to have the EFI boot partition installed, otherwise OpenBSD will have a problem with MSI-X allocation. The EFI boot partition on the OpenBSD USB flash image (install.img) works fine, although it may be better to retain the one that comes installed on the SSD disk.
This is a really amazing product! Loads of RAM, loads of storage, and fanless!
I now run all my kubernetes loads & web sites on this, and I still have loads of room to spare!

STRHIGP Firewall Mini PC
Utilizzato con distribuzione pfsense (pfSense-CE-2.6.0-RELEASE-amd64).
Nessun problema in installazione e gestione del software. Unico appunto, la scheda wireless. E’ possibile utilizzare il modulo wireless solo per agganciare il MiniPc ad una rete wireless.
Non possibile utilizzare la funzione Access point (a meno che non si voglia sostituire la scheda).
I was somewhat sceptical of the capabilities of this mini PC, I had done a lot of looking around and eventually figured I’d take the decision to see if this would be just what I needed.
Happy to say after a few weeks of use that this is been a great mini PC for use as a router, currently have OPNSense installed and able to get gigabit throughput with dns adblock and Zenarmour performing additional filtering and blocking services.
Overall I can say I am pleasantly surprised with the performance and if you’re looking for a mini PC that is capable of handling a 1 gigabit connection with some apps and filtering this is capable enough for that.
A shame there is no 2.5G version for future 1G+ internet connections, but I guess at that point at least link aggregation should provide the means support that.
Utilizzato come firewall OpnSense, funziona molto bene per una piccola rete aziendale.

Lavora bene anche senza ventola ma, se viene confinato in spazi angusti, preferibile affiancargli una ventola come quella in foto (del costo di pochi euro, alimentabile anche via USB).
I’ve two of these and am using them to run a good few VMs; Silent and the multiple Intel interfaces are very useful if you’ve got multiple networks
So far, rock solid – great value, very happy
Works perfectly with Sophos xg 19, performs well 200 ish megs np with ips.
The one I got came with a wireless adapter/antenna but I ended up removing those.
Quiet operation, and remains a little warm to the touch on the heat sink on the top.
Comes with hdmi/Sata and power, power adapter is external.
Looks good so far and will be putting this into commission in the next month or so, just configuring and texting before then.
Just what I needed to replace my Asus router with OPNsense. It’s not the quickest device in the world and takes a while to boot but it uses Intel NICs for maximum compatibility and the Celeron J4125 is sufficient to handle gigabit traffic (asymmetric at least) without breaking a sweat. It was the cheapest model I could find with this CPU and NIC combination by around 100.
I bought this to use as a router. I opted for this one over the Sharevdi due to the more modern CPU and DDR4 memory. It’s working well so far – I originally intended to run it with OpenWRT (which I was able to successfully boot), however opted for Arch Linux in the end (I’ve not tried to boot the included Windows 10 install). Network devices all work well, the four ethernet ports present as separate devices allowing maximum flexibility, and wifi card easily configured as a basic Wifi 4 / 802.11n access point.
