Everyone told me to spend 150 on a dell dock. I thought they were probably right but figured I’d try this cheaper one anyway. I’ve been using it for 6 months so far and not had any issues with multiple HDMI connected for my two monitors and a connected USB switch hub.

I’ve been using this product for a few months and I’m super happy with the performance. I thought it would be a bit heavy and I would need to leave one in the office but I’ve found that I carry it with me all time.

This docking device is a great bit of kit for the price it costs. Had the device for over 8 months now but sadly had a technical fault develop in the last two weeks, contacted the seller and they sent out a help sheet and replacement within 5 days of making them aware.

Can’t fault either the device or the company!

    Great work team!

First impressions were good, except for the thin card packaging which does nothing to protect the item. For this amount of money I expect a solid cardboard box at the very least.

Here are my main likes and dislikes for this hub:

    Like

    Overall nice design
    Strong build quality
No bad/tight ports, easy to insert/remove cables
    Excellent range of ports
    Meets specification

    Dislike

Expensive compared to some similar models
Not quite full 100W PD charging

    ——————–

As you can see there is a lot to like about this hub. It fulfills all the specs and abilities claimed in the item description, except the power one; the 100W claim is almost correct, I have had it reporting about 85-90W maximum charging draw, There were no dropped frames on 4K output, which was good to see. Dual 4K also worked fine, within the limitations of the specification.

The solid build quality and metal chassis give it a nice weight and it should stand up to being thrown around in a backpack no problem.I personally do not like branding on my devices, particularly when it’s a brand nobody knows about. It just looks a bit tacky.

Having both SD and microSD was nice to see, no messing about with adapters.

As is often the case the main problem I have is the price, which although a lot less than the official docks from laptop manufacturers, is still high for the components that make up this hub. About 40 would be more reasonable, and for that price it would get five stars.

It is worth four stars even with the higher pricetag.

Couple of hundred pounds cheaper than buying an OEM Lenovo hub, and it’s more versatile. So good I ordered a second one once I tested my first order. Happily recommend.

I’ve got a few hubs now but they are quite small compared to the amount of connections this one has.

    This is a 12 in 1 USB-C hub that has; 2x USB 3.0, 2x USB 2.0, 2x HDMI, 2x Memory card slots (Standard and micro), 1x USB-C, 1x VGA, 1x Ethernet and 1x 3.5mm audio port.

This is very useful to me as it allows me to connect two modern monitors that use HDMI at the same time as one of my old monitors that still uses VGA. This is handy for when you need to connect multiple displays at the same time.

I even tried this on my Samsung tablet so that I could try out Samsung Dex – worked perfectly there with no issues either.

The ethernet port on this hub seems to work perfectly – I can get close to the maximum speed advertised by my ISP with this one as compared to some of my other hubs.

Very pleased with this as it means I can now hook up all 3 monitors at once, which makes things very convenient for me.

Works very with steam deck and can have two monitors. Does get warm when being used.
Use a usb Ethernet adapter for a wired connection as this hub doesn’t have a Ethernet port.

Connected two Dell external monitors to a Dell Vostro 15 5510 using Windows 10 Pro, so I now have 3 screens. The Vostro has a USB 3/Thunderbolt port, which is needed. The monitors only have VGA and DVI ports, so I used an HDMI to DVI cable. Everything worked first time seconds after connecting – did not need to install any drivers or setup the monitors. Remember to use Setting/System/Display to set the monitor layout (see picture).

Worked first time with dual external monitors + laptop monito

I use this for my work, both when I am at home a d when I need to work when traveling.

It’s simple enough to set up and get using. It’s basically just plug and play.

I use it to connect my mouse and monitor screen to my laptop and it works flawlessly. The picture on the laptop screen is great quality and there’s no lag in timing from the laptop to monitor screen.

The unit is small and light but good quality and very sturdy and well built.

This has allowed me to become a lot more efficient with my work, so I recommend highly if you have similar needs.

This hub really has everything I need and I’ve been using it on my laptop, my smartphone, and on my kids desktop PC.

My Surface book laptop doesn’t have an Ethernet port, actually – it doesn’t have many ports at all!! If I plug this in via the USB-C port of my Surface book I can then access the USB-A ports on the hub to plug in accessories (such as keyboard, webcam, etc) and use the USB-C port with Power Delivery to charge my smartphone, and also connect to 2 external monitors using the HDMI ports. And it works brilliantly!

I use a similar set up with my child’s desktop PC. This is used so that they can use 2 monitors and also gives them and SD card reader.

As for my smartphone, well – this enables me to plug the USB-C into my smartphone so my Smartphone can read/write to SD card. I use this to take photos from my camera and view/edit/share them on my phone. It’s much quicker than using the camera app to send the photos via Bluetooth or WiFi.

In a nutshell: a genuinely impressive piece of kit which adds lots of functionality to so many devices. Display port might have been nice, but I’m more than happy with 2 HDMI ports.

This has ultra hd 4k output with triple display docking station. It is relatively small but packs a punch with DP port up to 4Kx2K@60Hz/3840×2160, 2 x USB 3.0 (Up to 5Gbps) 2 x USB 2.0, 100W PD3.0, Gigabit Ethernet up to 1000Mbps, SD/TF, 3.5mm Audio Jack along with the hdmi ports too. There are so many different things you can do with this wonderful device, it supports mac, os and windows. This gadget allows you to connect so much more to your laptop than you can normally do, which enables you to have more things already set up and ready to go, it also has the DP port instead of the VGA. All the features work on windows but it only allows mirror screen on multiple screens on mac. I found this device to be well made, easy to set up and use and it was so handy to simply connect to my laptop and have the variety of functions and ports available. This is an absolute asset to me when I’m working from home and I have ordered another.

A very useful, high quality, USB C docking station with a decent amount of slots and compatibility.

Having a lot of pictures and videos that need to be sorted from the last family holiday, this little device is perfect for that. I can transfer a great many files to my 4TB external HDD while it only takes up one USB C slot on my laptop, leaving the other USB ports free for my wireless mouse and keyboard.

The speed of transfer is very satisfactory. The general feeling I get off this device is that of high quality.

The price may be a bit steep ( 55.24 at the time of writing), but considering what it offers you, and the quality of that, it is quite worth it.

I ordered this USB-C hub in order to use on my M1 MacBook Pro and it does the job perfectly.

First of all, if feels very high quality, it seems to be made of good, durable materials and I think this will probably last longer than my MacBook will. It manages to be quite light still which makes it good for travelling with however it is quite large so does not easily slide into my laptop sleeve.

I have used most the ports and they all seem to do their job exactly how you would expect. The ethernet port gives a fast, reliable internet connection. The HDMI ports are great for working or watching a movie on a larger screen and the extra USB ports are great for being able to plug in other peripherals.

If you are looking for a high quality, durable USB-C hub, I would 100% recommend this product.

    Great Accessory for Macbook

First impressions are a well made docking station, if a fairly expensive one.

USB C connection to various outputs which are a very useful addition to Mac, allowing me easy connection including my projector, saves a lot of time fixing cables etc.

All ports work great, made connecting a selection of devices easy, and I didn’t notice any change to the performance

It’s not a cheap one, but a well made one that works very well, quality is very good, something to keep as a useful add-on.

Given the current device design ethos of less is more, I am constantly finding that I am running out of ports on my portable devices especially, be they laptops or iPads. As a result of this trend a USB hub has become an almost essential item in everyones home. I know I have owned my fair share of hubs over the years, and so I feel confident when I say this is the best I have ever owned.
It is solidly made with a metal outer case, and an integrated USB c cable, and it has the most comprehensive set of inputs I have ever seen, including 2x USB 2.0, 2x USB 3.0 an SD and micro SD slot, 2x full sized HDMI outputs, a display port out, a gigabit ethernet port and even a 3.5mm headphone jack!
HDMI 1 will output 4K at 60Hz while HDMI 2 will only do 4K at 30Hz and if both are connected at the same time, then 4K at 30Hz is the max both will display. the DP out will do 4K at 60Hz
The SD and micro SD slots are slow at data transfer, but given the standard use of this device (on the go) it is perfectly adequate.
All in all an easy recommend, and travels everywhere with me.

Best portable mini hub I've owned

    Review from my husband:

I got this for my wife’s mac book and it works a treat. It has loads of connectivity and multiple display support which enables a bigger monitor alongside the onboard display so you basically have a bigger workspace.
I love the way the headphone jack actually works! it’s so simple and all through USB! It’s a great piece of kit with endless connections LAN, USB, HDMI thunderbolt, you name it, it works exactly as it should. I know it’s pricey but it’s worth it and makes all your laptop problems disappear and gives you the full functionality of a desktop at a fraction of the price. This is a very well manufactured and extremely useful usb docking device, the expansion it can make for a usb c port. I like the expansion to USB ports as my laptop only has 3, the hdmi out and network is a bonus too.

The body is made of a metal and is hard wearing. The usb cable is decent enough where it won’t fold easily and usb c adaptor hasn’t gone loose yet.

If your laptop is lacking ports, then look no further than this very useful little gadget. You get an extra 12 ports, some more useful than others, but at least it has more than one usb 3.0, which is always good to have. You can fit the usual SD and micro cards separately and can also use the usb -c for charging, should you need that.

I’ve not noticed any issues at all when using it, although I haven’t used every port, and certainly not all at once. The unit itself seems sturdy and well made, and not as light as many, so you feel like you’re getting a quality product. It’s not as cheap as many, but it’s more capable than most. As long as the price is acceptable, this looks like it’ll last for many years to come.

With laptops slowly removing ports by the year the need for using a docking station increases. I have a surface laptop and there is hardly any ports on it so I was in need of one badly. This docking station is brilliant and has everything I need. It’s portable, built really well and works perfectly. The price is worth the investment and it’s better than having a million different adapters can’t ask for anything more.

I’m a big fan of docking stations so that I can have the portability of a laptop and the visuals and large keyboard of a descktop. I have been using a ‘Plugable’ docking station for some years. But this Selore docking station is a fraction of the size and has a much smaller footprint than my old one. The technology has also evolved with this offering multi screen support and more ports making this so versatile. The compatibility for my Dell XPS 15 is brilliant, no software to install just plug and play. I literally pulled the cables out of my old docking station and into the new one, everything worked perfectly. The price too surprised me as I paid much more than this 6 years ago for my old docking station!

I have no hesitation in recommending this to you!

This adapter has all of the ports one could actually want (I actually wanted one more old-fashioned USB) and they all work as expected. The thing that other adapters have let me down on is the tightness of the fitting. The laptop this goes with seems to have a slightly loose USB-C port (it has never been anywhere much, and this seems to be a fault with the laptop), and all of the other adapters I have tried universally have intermittent connections or don’t even properly connect. The one I have been using works, provided that you are careful. This one, though is far more robust.
In all, I can find no reason to fault it, and its USB-C plug fits securely in the laptop port, so there is no reason not to give it the full 5 stars, including value for money.

  37. ERVKatiatqpy says:

I have had a few Selore&S-Global hubs previously and this one came in the usual branded retail packaging. It offers an extensive array of ports, with the following:

    1. 2 x HMDI 4K
    2. USB-C PD
    3. 2 x USB 2.0
    4. VGA
    5. Ethernet
    6. SD Card
    7. Micro SD Card
    8. 2 x USB 3.0
    9. 3.5mm

Although it offers a lot, for me it is missing a USB-C port.

I hooked this up to a modern Windows 10 laptop, together with two 2K WQHD Monitors, Wireless Mouse & Keyboard, 95W Charger, Micro-SD card via SD Card Adapter, Ethernet Cable and Initially a NVME Drive.

Running both the monitors at 2K plus the laptops monitors at 1080p was no issue at all and I was able to have three individual displays and picture quality was very good on all.

Ethernet connection showed no loss of speed vs being connected directly to my router. I am unable to confirm the 1Gb speeds, as my max is currently around the 75Mb.

Charging performance was very good also, with the battery on almost empty, I was looking at approx. 1hr 30min to full charge, from an initial estimate of 2hr 30min.

As to data transfer speeds, this is always a tricky area. Firstly, the 5Gbps speed is often called the “theoretical” speed, since so many things can affect it and you are unlikely to get that on a day-to-day basis and with my current set-up, I have not come anywhere near. Even with an external NVME drive, I am only getting around 1Gbps. As the max speed is 5Gbps, this is a USB 3.2 Gen 1 x 1 hub.

I initially ran a speed test using an external NVME drive and got really bad results, around 32Mbps. This must be a cable issue. So, for the 2nd test, I opted for a standard SSD and these results were much better. The max Read/Write speeds were 461/424, some of the highest results I have got from this drive.

Overall, I think this is a versatile, capable, and well put together hub. I could argue it is slightly restricted by only has 2 x USB 3.0 ports, but there are 2 x USB 2.0 thrown in to keep the cost down and if you are connecting in a mouse and keyboard, they do not need USB 3.0. With the market moving to USB-C, it is a shame this does not come with one, but you can always use and adapter.

I hope you found this review & photos interesting, informative, and useful. Thanks for reading.

Ticks a lot of boxes and well put together. Just missing a USB-C port.

Thunderbolt Docking Station 12 in 1 Triple display Ethernet and Audio
    ==================================================
A nice thunderbolt (TB) usbc docking station. Being TB it is backwards compatible with lower usbc ports. If you want to use dual or triple monitors with this hub, it is recommended you stick to TB ports. You can plug it into lower ones, since USBC standard is backward compatible, but you will get latency issues with the lower ports not having as much bandwidth. There are two HDMI and one DP port for the monitors. The HDM/DPI port only supports 4k @ 60Hz on a single monitor, and the refresh rate drops down when using dual or triple monitors. Whilst this is not great for gaming, it’s more than good enough for work purposes and casual gaming.
Supporting 2 x USB 3 ports and 2 x USB 2, 1 x Power Delivery port (charge your phone/tablet etc with a whopping max of 100W charge), 2 x HDMI 1 x DP and 1 x Gigabit Ethernet Adapter, 1 x sd card reader, 1 x micro sd card reader and surprisingly an audio jack for external mic/audio, this will cover most peoples requirements.
This hub works slightly better on Windows PCs/laptops as opposed to Apple with the multiple monitor issues with Apple, tested on my gaming laptop over a TB 4 port.Refreshingly works on android phones with usbc. Played just nicely with DEX on Samsung Note 9.
The hub does warm up quite a bit, especially if you are using this for dual/triple monitors, but it’s a fantastic hub supporting TB. A great way to extend a laptop to multiple displays, and small enough to take with you in your laptop bag when travelling. Currently selling at 64,99

This USB-C Hub is definitely very well made and has a host of useful ports. I have this set up on my laptop stand so I only have to take one cable out if I want to use the laptop on its own rather than in desktop mode. My keyboard/mouse receiver, Webcam and external SSD are all attached to the Hub along with the Power Cable.

Testing a USB 3.0 external SSD I got a similar diskmark reading when connected through the Hub and my Thunderbolt 4 Port, as plugging it directly into the laptop which is good.

The Ethernet port also works very well as does the pass through power, which is a bit of an essential these days especially if you only have one USB-C port that is also used for charging. You can plug your power cable into the Hub and it will pass through and power the laptop. The hub gets slightly warm when doing this but not uncomfortably so and definitely not hot.

I also tried the USB 2.0 port which worked perfectly with my Keyboard/Mouse Transmitter.

I don’t have an external monitor so haven’t tested the HDMI / VGA connections.

This Hub is fully plug and play which is great too, no set up required, just plug in!

The only confusing thing on so many of these listings is whether the Hub is actually ‘Thunderbolt 3’ or not or whether they are saying it is compatible with this type of port as well. There is no Thunderbolt symbol anywhere on the hub or the connector and it doesn’t show up in the ‘Thunderbolt Control Center’ App either. The box and leaflet do not mention Thunderbolt 3, just referring to it as a USB-C Hub, but the product description page does??

Why the big deal? Well Thunderbolt 3 is more powerful and provides a faster connection with more bandwidth which justifies a higher price than a more standard Type C connection.

After investigating further I saw that the Ethernet Connection comes up as ‘xxx USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter’ so it cannot be Thunderbolt, but will top out at 5Gbps speeds. Most of the USB-C hubs presently available seem to be this same standard.

Either way this is very well made and works very well (even when connected to a Thunderbolt 4 port), and is certainly worth considering. Due to the number of connections and the build quality, the price is about what you would expect, maybe a little higher but not by too much. If you don’t need all the connections and particularly if you want to take this around with you, you can get smaller and cheaper options.

Thank you for taking the time to read my review, I hope you find it helps you.

Well made USB-C Hub rather than Docking Station (and not Thunderbolt)

There are suddenly loads of USB-C hubs with PD like this on Amazon. I’ve been using one for a couple of years. This one is among the best, as long as you don’t need USB-C ports other than the input port from your charger. It seems odd that they provide four USB-A ports but no USB-C.

I connected this to my XPS 13 via a USB-C extension cable, so that I could locate the hub and tangle of cables at the back of my desk. My XPS charger is plugged into the hub, so it charges my XPS as well as powering the hub. Everything appears to work perfectly, including twin HDMI displays, although I haven’t stressed it or run any performance tests yet. Laptop charging is inevitably a little slower than with the charger connected directly to the laptop.

I’d really like to see a USB-C port or two in the mix. Better still, Thunderbolt. Still, if the port selection on offer here suits your needs, the hub is a good one, at 55.99 after the coupon is applied. But I’m going to be mean and deduct a star because it really needs at least one USB-C port, even if only for future-proofing.

I travel a lot between offices and most of time I need dual monitors, my keyboard, mouse, and a memory card when working. So I decided to buy this hub.

I only have positive things to say about this hub. It’s plug-and-play with every monitor I had in the office. It looks and feels well built. I can easily plug the hub after a conference meeting and switch back to work in a few seconds.

A solid 11 port USB C Docking Station. A nice metal finish to it a nice strong type C connector cable . you get 11 different ports to connect to . 4 USB ports 2 hdmi ports 1 sd card slot and a micro sd slot aswell and a VGA port. And Ethernet connection. And type C port. My only gripe would be the packaging it arrived in just a plastic bag .no box . no manual. But other than this . Its a solid piece of kit. Well built and works fine . Just the packaging is a bit disappointing.

USB C Docking Station Dual HDMI Monitor Thunderbolt 3/4 Laptop Dock USB C Hub Multiport Adapter with 2 HDMI VGA

    *The good*
    Premium feeling
    Flexibility
    Number of ports

    *The not so good*
    Price
Reluctance of some ports to easily accept a cable

This hub has a multitude of ports, card reader, audio out etc. It supports quite a few different operating systems and devices. It does not state it is windows 11 compatible, and is a no go if you run a Linux variation. Please read the computability list carefully as it will not support all Apple devices for example.

A minor point is that it is not a docking station in the traditional sense; it is a USB hub as you cannot actually dock a laptop with it.

Initial impressions are this hub feels fairly premium – a nice, solid feeling to it. It seems like the main body is metal but it might be coated plastic. Some of the ports are a bit tricky to get plugs into but they’re nice and secure once they’re in.

The number of ports on it is simply fantastic. My iMac can do so much more now – I mean a VGA port! When did you last see one of those? It’s ideal for hooking up an old monitor as an extra display.

I feel a hub like this is perfect for devices with one or two usb-c ports, like a laptop or tablet, as it adds all the ports you’re likely to ever need.

However, it’s very expensive for what it is, as of time of writing 64.99, and while it does seem good quality, getting some of the plugs in can be tricky and they scrape on the metal (?) casing a bit when putting them in, so feels less premium in the process. At the price it is I would expect just a bit more for my money. There is a 15% voucher currently which brings the price down to 55.24, but this is still too expensive in my opinion.

    TB4 USB C Docking Station
    =====================
A nice thunderbolt (TB) 4 usbc docking station. Being TB 4 it is backwards compatible with TB 3. If you want to use dual or triple monitors with this hub, it is recommended you stick to TB 3 or 4. You can plug it into lower ones, since USBC standard is backward compatible, but you will get latency issues with the lower ports not having as much bandwidth. There are two HDMI and one VGA ports for the monitors. The HDMI port only supports 4k @ 60Hz on a single monitor, and the refresh rate drops down on dual and triple monitors. Whilst this is not great for gaming, it’s more than good enough for work purposes and casual gaming.
Supporting 2 x USB 3 ports and 2 x USB 2, 1 x Power Delivery port (charge your phone/tablet etc), 2 x HDMI 1 x VGA and 1 x Gigabit Ethernet Adapter, 1 x sd card reader, 1 x micro sd card reader and surprisingly an audio jack for external mic/audio, this will cover most peoples requirements.
This hub works slightly better on Windows PCs/laptops as opposed to Apple because of the onboard Intel Graphics Controller that this hub uses, and the corresponding Intel issues with multiple monitors..
The hub does warm up quite a bit, especially if you are using this for dual/triple monitors, but it’s a fantastic hub supporting the current latest TB4. A great way to extend a laptop to multiple displays, and small enough to take with you in your laptop bag when travelling. Currently selling at 64,99

    One word – PERFECTION (imho)…

I tested this on both my ThinkPad laptop and also my S21 Ultra – this adapter worked PERFECTLY with both.

    Good points:
1/ Both memory card slots can be accessed and used simultaneous as separate drives – transfer rates are obviously very much dependent on the class of cards being used. The 2 card slots share one bus – i.e. speed dips when both being are used at the same time.
Both card slots recognised as independent drives on my laptop and S21.

2/ The two USB-3 ports – these are both USB-3 ports and yes, looks like a shared data bus across the 2 USB-3 ports, as there is a slight dip in speed if both are being accessed at the same time – but my tests using 2Gig files only dropped from 280MBps to 190MBps.. still way over USB-2 speeds.
Both USB-3 ports recognised as independent drives on my laptop and S21.

3/ The two USB-2 ports – these are both definitely USB-2 ports and again, it looks like a shared data bus across the 2 USB-2 ports as there is a slight dip in speed if both are being accessed at the same time – my tests using 2Gig files only dropped from 41MBps to 19MBps.
Both USB-2 ports recognised as independent drives on my laptop and S21.

4/ The USB ports use the correct colours for the physical interfaces:
The USB-3 ports are the CORRECT COLOUR – BLUE
The USB-2 ports are the CORRECT COLOUR – BLACK

5/ ALL PORTS CAN IN DEED RUN SIMULTANEOUSLY – The 2 memory card slots, the 2 USB-2 ports and the 2 USB-3 all have their own shared data bus – however, the 3 separate data buses do NOT affect each other – I tested using both cards slots, both USB-2 ports with flash drives inserted and both USB-3 ports each with a USB-3 SSD inserted (6 separate drives were recognised in Win explorer) – and then transferring large gig files to ALL drives and both cards at the same time, there was NO degradation of speeds across the 3 data buses.

6/ Gig ethernet that worked without any issues – 4Gig file transfer to another rig on the same switched network topped the speed out at around 980Mbps (effectively 1Gig)
    Interface properties were:
    Link speed (Receive/Transmit): 1000/1000 (Mbps)
    Manufacturer: ASIX
Description: ASIX AX88179A USB 3.2 Gen1 to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter #2
    Driver version: 2.22.2.0

On checking the MAC address prefix, I found no issues and the vendor prefix matches the registered ASIX vendor

7/ HDMI ports – worked perfectly (laptop and S21). When connected to my phone (S21), I could use Samsung DeX and the phone’s desktop is displayed on the monitor, while the phone’s touch screen is used as a touchpad to move the cursor on the screen.

8/ PD – using a 65W psu to connect to the PD port, the power delivery got through to my laptop and S21 without any problem. If I removed the external psu and therefore drew power from the laptop, the adapter still worked – obviously going to be limited on power drawn from laptop.

9/ Although I can’t test the VGA port at home, when I get to the office, we have a few monitors scattered about – but some are HDMI and the others are VGA. So having this adapter will solve the issue of having to have multiple adapters.

10/ AUDIO quality through the 3.5mm jack was perfect – no issues what so ever with either received or transmitted audio

    Not so good points:
    NONE

Overall, at 64.99 (at the time of review), that’s NOT expensive for what this little USB-C adapter can do and provide on both my S21 phone as an OTG adapter and on my laptop as a multiport adapter – does EXACTLY what it says on the box and does it really well – an easy 5 and would definitely recommend.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersUSB C Docking Station Dual HDMI Monitor Thunderbolt 3/4 Laptop Dock USB C Hub Multiport

Very impressive indeed, I do use hubs but not one that has everything all housed in a sleek unit like this. I had ethernet, HDMI, PD charging my laptop, mobile connected and a USB lamp plugged into this hub and it was all going through my laptop via the USB-C cable, totally amazing to be honest. At 64.99 with a 15% off voucher currently available (09.05.22), then I’m happy to recommended!

However, you must ensure your PC or laptop is capable of extending or mirroring its display, if it can’t then this hub won’t magically make that happen, check your device specifications first. Also, if your device only has one USB-C port then that will be lost using this hub, swings and roundabouts as they say in the big old grand of things!

    What’s cool:

It’s an all in one solution for all my connections into my laptop
Has every port necessary for a laptop
    Small & compact
Power pass through, PD up to 100W
Offers USB 3.0 ports up to 5Gbps
Ethernet port handles up to 1000Mbps
    Good value for money

This gadget has seriously cut down all the smaller hubs and devices plugged into my limited port laptop. I only have one USB-C port on my Dell 14 5000 and a few USB-A ports and I always max them out with a small USB-C hub, an ethernet USB adapter, with BT dongles for mouse & keyboard and a HDMI cable coming from it for the 2nd, bigger display. This docking station has simplified all this and performs exceptionally well.

It’s small and compact, the connection plug is a USB-C type, the lead is about 15cm long and is very sturdy. You have numerous ports on this hub consisting of:

    2 x HDMI
    2 x USB-A 2.0
    2 x USB-A 3.0
    1 x USB-C PD power port
    1 x VGA
    1 x Ethernet
    1 x Headphone/microphone
    1 x SD card slot
    1 x TF card slot

Now that should be all you need, well it is for me. In use I connected this to my laptop, connected a 100W power supply into the hub (USB-C), ethernet cable, HDMI, mobile phone via USB-C and a flash drive into the USB 3.0 port. I was amazed that all this was going into my laptop using just one connection, the USB-C plug. I had internet which was as fast as it would be normally using my other ethernet USB adapter, the 2nd monitor came to life, fantastic resolution, the memory card was able to transfer files mighty quick and I had data access to my mobile.

The docking station did get warm which was to be expected but other than that it truly was top notch. So when I have finished with my laptop I only have to unplug one lead and off I go.

The only issue I think may arise is the close proximity of the VGA and ethernet port. I don’t have any use for this VGA port at present, but I know from previous use of VGA plugs, they are rather wide and I feel this may block using the ethernet port unless you get a VGA plug with a small width, without the connection screws on.

This hub can power up to 3 displays, 2 via the HDMI and the other via the VGA port, however, the more displays connected you’ll find the resolution will drop like a log, so bear that in mind.

Overall, very impressive, it’s compact, fast, delivers on its specifications and best of all makes my life somewhat easier.

    Full marks, highly recommended.

Remember the VGA can only support 1080P
A M1 based Mac can only support one external screen
    Your USB-C must support video
And if using all three external screens you will almost certainly have to turn your laptop screen off.

Ethernet outlet which is very useful

Recommended if you need three video ours otherwise if you just need 2 HDMI and Ethernet etc there are other options at a lower price

One of the most comprehensive mini-dock hubs yet seen with a mix of 12 available expansion ports. The “USB C Docking Station Dual HDMI Monitor Thunderbolt 3/4 Laptop Dock USB C Hub Multiport Adapter with 2 HDMI VGA Micro/SD Card Reader RJ45 PD 100W USB 3.0/2.0 Mic for Dell XPS 15, HP, Lenovo, Surface” is the ideal companion for any USB-C or Thunderbolt equipped Windows, MacBook (Macs with an M-1 chip are NOT supported!), Linux or Chrome portable.

It claims that all ports are simultaneously usable including the SD and TF card reader slots, and that is unusual and welcome. The remaining line-up comprises 3.5 mm audio in/out, 2 x HDMI, VGA, Gigabit Ethernet, a 100W PD port, 2x USB 3.1, 2x USB 2.0 (one on each long side). Of its type, it is relatively heavy but still pocketable and the cable is a relatively sensible and useful 20 cm.

There is a degree of inconvenience when using a wired Ethernet connection but also the advantage of faster connections and data transfer speeds. It is also not unknown for the Wi-Fi components in laptops and other portables to sometimes completely fail, fail to connect if the signal is weak or be disrupted by electrical interference. A wired connection could be a perfect alternative and this is significantly less expensive than a replacement part and repair which is not usually possible by the owner/user.

The USB 3.1 ports will support recent hard drives, SSDs and other faster peripherals while the USB 2.0 ports support a keyboard, mouse, printer and USB speakers. Transfer speeds will depend on several factors including the CPU and RAM of the portable concerned, the drive types and other peripherals connected and, when using SD or TF cards, the capabilities of the cards (there are many variations). Speeds may therefore be barely above those when using USB 2.0 or as high as about 400-450 Mbs although the higher speeds may rarely be achieved.

The HDMI ports can each support a monitor, projector or A-V hardware; both can be used together for monitors or differently. It can support 4K at 60Hz if a single HDMI port is used, but will only support up to 30Hz if both are used; using a Mac, both screens share an image (limited by the system) but Windows will permit separate images to be displayed. VGA is limited to 1920 x 1080p at 60 Hz as usual and that could allow a third external monitor to be used. HDMI is to 1.4 standards so advanced features possible with HDMI 2.0 are unavailable – these limitations are due to the limits of its in-built control chip!

For what it offers, the pricing is to expectation and some advanced capabilities are possible. As a full-sized usable SD card was not available, checking the ability to transfer data from TF to SD (or vice versa) was not possible but could allow transfers from a camera to a printer or TV playback to be possible.

For users of portable computers, and especially smaller notebooks with a very limited range of connectivity options and very few ports, this small device could be a blessing. When the laptop needs to be used at work, college or home, peripherals can remain attached to the hub and its lead disconnected, saving wear and tear on the portable’s ports.

One point for individuals looking to use this for dual monitor setups + laptop screen, if your USB-C port is not a thunderbolt port, the HDMIs will not work. This is a really useful item/tool, you can connect it to many devices at ones and access external drives like usb flash drives that you cannot connect to a phone for example. So this device will let you connect anything to a device that has a usb type C port. You can monitor your phone or any other device by connecting the Usb Type C cable to the phone, and then connect a hdmi cable from your monitor to the phone. There is plenty other ways of using this device, you can even connect a ethernet cable and connect your phone to the router through the ethernet cable instead of wifi for better speed.

For the sake of a realistic review – the only very slight downside would be the 5 seconds to recalibrate the resolution on external monitors if I’ve unplugged the laptop and used it on its own. Golden Review Award: 28 From Our UsersI was an early adopter of USB-C with the purchase of the 12″ MacBook back in 2015. The port has come a long way in the past 6 years, but that transition does necessitate the need for adapters. Particularly as my current MacBook has 4 USB C ports and relies on them for sole connectivity. Sure it looks aesthetically pleasing, but does come with the mile inconvenience of “dongle life”. This particular dongle saves me from carrying multiple dongles as it covers pretty much all the ports I need.

    3x USB 3.0
    2X HDMI
    Micro SD card
    Standard SD card
    USB-C

This makes it ideal as an all in one solution, particularly for a “road warrior” such as myself. I don’t like to carry around a lot of items when I’m out, so this single solution is immensely helpful. It connects easily and it promises fast transfer speeds. Whilst I’ve not tested them to see if they match the markets speeds, I can say that they are fast enough for the average user’s needs and work flawlessly. I’ve tested the dongle with a range of peripherals on both my MacBook and iPad Pro, all of which work perfectly.

The design of the dongle is also great, complementing most Apple style pieces of industrial design tech. I’d say it is a space grey colour similar to the iPad Pro, and made from metal and definitely has a nice weight and solid feel to it.

The only minor grip I do have is that the cable is a little short at ~6″, which leaves it ‘just’ sitting on the desk on my 12.9″ iPad Pro (where the USB-C connection is on the side in the middle). Another couple of inches would have been perfect, but this is purely based on my preferences. Worth pointing out, but I won’t take any stars off for this point.

Overall, I’d highly recommend this to users who carry multiple dongles. 5/5

Functional and high quality “all in one” dongle

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersAll of these kinds of aluminium-cased connectivity hubs are similarly designed, and excellent quality, regardless of the made-up “brand” printed on them, so it really comes down to choosing the one with the ideal arrangement of different connections for your needs, because they never have everything.

This one is ideal if you want to run two HD displays from your laptop, which have HDMI connections, up to 4K. It gives you plenty of USB ports (where some only offer a couple), plus SD card slots, and a pass-through for USB-C.

What it doesn’t give you is ethernet, display port, or SVGA. If you need any of those, look elsewhere, if not, this is one of the few which gives you dual HDMI.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersSo the good news is that it works perfectly – not a big surprise since these hubs are pretty standard these days.

It looks great and it has enough extra ports for most people’s usage I would think.

Where it’s let down is by the quality of the finish. The edges are sharp and unpleasant. The milling or whatever it’s called hasn’t produced a smooth edge. So when you pick this up it won’t feel very nice at all.

    For functionality, 5 stars – it’s great.

For how it feels, 3 stars. It does feel cheap. So overall 4 stars.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe ports are USB 3.0 and not 3.1 however given the majority of the use is likely to be for keyboard/mouse/headset/web cam, I don’t see this as an issue for my use.

Unit is well made in aluminum.

Tested on a Dell XPS13 running Windows 10.

A great piece of kit which would be even better with an ethernet port although of course one of the USB 3.0 sockets could be used for a USB to Ethernet convertor.

For dual HDMI this adapter at 53 is a little more expensive then the same unit under different names although I note there are foften discount codes available

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI’ve been using this with an HP Elitebook and not encountered any problems (though I have only tested it with one monitor connected at a time). It feels nicely engineered. All the ports (including the two memory card and USB ports) have worked as expected. They hold the components securely and don’t feel like they are inducing any undue wear. Data transfer rates seem okay, certainly for my needs.

Overall, no problems to report. Would recommend.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersUSB C Docking Station Dual HDMI, Multiport Adapter USB C Hub 8 in 1 Triple Display Laptop Docking Station Dual Monitor with Dual HDMI USB 3.0 100W PD Micro/SD Card Reader for Dell XPS, Lenovo, Surface

    In the box.
The hub with attached USB C lead and instructions.

    Build quality.
This is very well made with a brushed aluminium cover and very good quality sockets.

    Features.
This can support dual HEDMI displays (set this up via Windows). It has a n SD card reader, charge pass through and USB sockets (USB 3)

    In use.
I have many PC’s in my office and we need to copy data to external; HD’s. read SD cards and USB keys. This hub does the lot plus allows charging and multi-screen displays at the same time. We have found it very useful since getting it. It allows us to move data from cards and USB sticks to the computers and back up hard drives. The multi-screen display facility has also proved useful.

    Overall.
A really good hub with speed and lots of facilities. We have been using it daily and it has performed superbly on every task, its fast and has never given any trouble. It adds lots of extra facilities to our laptops and desktops. A very good hub.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersMy work dock has stopped working, I had requested a new one and they sent me a 4 port USB dongle… obviously substandard I decided to take the situation into my own hands and get a real dock that supported HDMI double display for my two monitor setup.

It arrived and works perfectly from my laptop to the two screens while also offering lots of other pots to accommodate everything else I need to plug in, really pleased with it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWith so many 4 in 1 and 5 in 1 alternatives around, I really wanted an all in one solution as I use my MacBook Pro for a living. This 8 in 1 is perfect! Its allow 100w pass-through charging via USB-C and has a host of ports including SD/TF card slot, but most importantly for me, is the ability to pass-through 4K video. Finally, it’s made from metal and matches the colour of my MacBook Pro very closely, and is designed for faster heat dissipation and more stable performance.

This gets a solid 5***** rating from me.

I hope you found this review interesting, informative and useful. Thank you for reading. X

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersThis quality type-C hub with 3 type-A ports, 100W PD input, SD card slots and 2 4K HDMI ports works fine with my Surface Go using an 87W PD mains charger. The hub only very slightly warms up when powering a couple of 2.5 hard drives at the same time pulling just over 35W so it will easily handle higher power devices with no issues. All the ports ahve a nice firm connection so no wabbly connecters which is good and my 2009 LG screen works fine with the HDMI ports giving me clear audio and a solid image in standard HD. As this is fairly small its easy to travel with and so I have no hesitation in recommending this type-C hub.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThis is a cost effective way of running a 2 monitor / triple screen set up providing you have Thunderbolt 3 and Windows 10 with video output. My YOGA 920 does and this works very well. (Not so good for HP machines though). Added to which a full 87w pass through on the power leaving 9w to cover the other sockets – which are USB3. I slipped in a spare micro sd card which makes for a very compact way of carring some portable storage.
It is light but strong – I think it will gives years of service in normal use. I like it very much.
