Got a good deal on Amazon prime day. Camera was very easy to set up and the performance has been 100% on motion detection so far and the day and night vision picture quality is brilliant plus there’s no monthly contract all round winner.

I brought my doorbell in March ’24 and found installation easy and quick with a very user friendly app.
After several months of quality use my doorbell acquired a fault and would only work when connected via the usb cable.
After contacting customer service via the text service on the app with some very helpful assistance from the Auso staff they are gonna send out a new unit to replace the faulty doorbell.
The aftercare service is quite unbelievable for a small company compared to some larger companies.

I bought two of these Video Camera units just over a year ago, both really good. Unfortunately one has just started giving phantom calls to my App, so I contacted Customer Service with a description of the problem and to see if the device could be reset. Customer Service Ann replied within 24hrs to advise me the unit could not be rescued but would replace the unit FOC. Within a couple of days the replacement unit had arrived. Now that’s what I call customer service. Good job Ann.
I think there has also been improvements to the design as well, because the image quality is even better and the delivery man can hear me over the traffic noise.
Fantastic customer service
I purchased this unit from Amazon in August 2023 and have been having issues with the speaker on the outside, people couldn’t hear me! However after finding all the paperwork and contacting Aosu I now have a new unit working perfectly.

Excellent quality
The quality of the image even in SD mode is excellent. Things that you are not told is that the device also detects a person lingering in range or that you can set the device to only detect human forms or any movement ie cars as well. Very easy to install, the guide tells you how to start and then the device does the rest and tells you what to do and when it is finished. We needed a range extender as well as we were right on the range limit, about 20m, still not a problem to set up, just link the device by selecting the extender as the router source. Very pleased.
Great little product without requiring storage subscriptio
I really like this product as it has amazing features for the price and I particularly like the option to have free clips recorded on the home base as I feel that some providers overcharge for this facility. Simple set-up, very good coverage, and excellent build quality and picture.

Great customer service
I liked the product when I installed it but didn’t test speaker and didn’t need to use that aspect for some months. When i tried i found out that the speaker wasn’t working. I contacted Aosu’s customer service, they suggested some things to try but when the speaker still didn’t work, they sent a replacement door bell. Very friendly and helpful. My best experiences with customer service in a long time.
High quality and easy pair with Wifi
Before buying this product I had tried other doorbells from a major maker. The drawback was they need to connect with 2.4 GHz broadband signal, whereas ours is a combined 2.4/5GHz system. I tried splitting our signal into separate systems to no avail, they would not connect with our broadband. In any case changing the wifi to suit the bell seemed like the tail was wagging the dog. The Aosu system worked instantly with our combined system and is a very well designed product. It is supplied with a mains powered chime which saves battery life and is solidly engineered. Best of all the tech support line is manned by a real person who actually knows the answers. I’m very impressed with Aosu and they will be my first choice for other security kit.
Aosu Video Doorbell
I was having problems with the video doorbell in that speech wasn’t clear, I contacted customer support, they checked a few things and requested a sample video showing the issue to be sent to them for the tech team to check out. With no hesitation at all they sent a new doorbell out which arrived 3 days later and now works absolutely fine, clear speech, excellent video quality and motion detection, much better than Ring and with no subscription. I have also purchased a 2k outdoor security camera which is brilliant. I thoroughly recommend Aosu products and their excellent customer service.
Works great, picture quality is much better than the ring doorbell we had before the sound can be a bit tinny but on our phones it’s fine.
Easy to setup and use , no subscription fees which is great, only issue I have is the doorbell itself doesnt feel very secure in the holder, would be good to have a more secure way off holding it , seems easy to remove so easy to steal.

i bought a set of 2 outdoor cameras, doorbell and indoor camera and i can say very happy with all of them. really good quality of product and very fast online support when you have any questions or need a guide. long batterie life and very easy and many options you can use. give me and my familly alot of joy while using and feeling of security. no any hidden or additional costs of using (it is a option of cloud storage if you need extra strenght of defense system and cost very low) but recording memory of each of them last for very long and is more then enough for me at this moment. i give 10 on 10 for every aspect of each device, 100% happy with my choice!
It actually works
This brand actually seems to work well. This is the third doorbell I’ve purchased, that doesn’t require a subscription, due to the others just not working. The previous two had various issues including disconnecting from the base station, not working with Alexa, base station speaker failing and the other you just couldn’t talk to it with poor build quality. I won’t mention their makes but both were supposedly better known brands. I know the speakers and mic’s aren’t fantastic on these things but this one works quite well and certainly less of a time lag than the others, picture quality is very good indeed and detection is excellent. My only issue I had was that the App. kept logging off for what appeared to be no reason. Ann at customer services explained that for each account you create you can have 3 logins but by creating further accounts you can share your device with these to facilitate further logins and consequently getting rid of the logging off problem. I’ve now got two accounts with five logins and all is working well with no disconnections. All in all, an excellent product, good build quality and with excellent customer help.

AOSU Video Doorbell Camera Wireless 5M review
The product arrived very quickly. Out of the box the materials used look good quality, contemporary/ modern design would look good on any property. Installation of the mount required drilling 4 screwholes in the frame of the door and attaching the mount. This took about 10 mins once I’d found the right size drill bit etc. Setting up the App is easy and then pairing the doorbell and base station took about 15mins. I popped the door bell into it’s mount and was looking at live video 30 mins from unpacking the box. I had to make a few adjustments to the field of view for the motion detection so as to avoid passing cars and pedestrians on the street. I did not opt for the cloud storage, I dont need it,and dont want to pay the subscription, the major reason for choosing this doorbell. I will at some point run permenant wiring to it so it doesnt run on battery power.
Excellent value and suppo
The product is the AOSU V8S. It is easy to set up and app works very well. Picture quality is good and variability of angle and sensitivity allows for removal of falls notifications. Battery has very good life and % indicator allows easy monitoring. With correct adjustment has lasted 3 months.
I had a problem with thd intercom facility which meant that voice output at the bell was distorted, I sounded like a dalek! I didn’t pick up on this until towards the end of the warranty period. After a few chats with thr online support, responses were very quick. They decided it needed replacing and sent another one, which I received on a couple of days. The sound is now much clearer and communication with visitors much easier. They gave also extended the warranty on the new item. Very efficient and easy to use support.
I can highly recommend the item with the assurance that they provide the support needed to back it up.
High quality video
Very good quality video. Quick alerts.
The local hub is a neat idea and is quite good if you don’t want to use thw subscription. The basic features are adequate and not locked behind a subscription wall.
Customer service is very good. Had a warranty issue which was resolved swiftly.
The only downside for is the audio isn’t as good as the mainstream brands but nothing is going to be perfect and by no means does this detract from the overall package.
Excellent Product - with no monthly fees
This unit from AOSU is of very good build quality and is very very easy to set up. I had to decide between this unit and “RING”. After seeing my neighbours RING unit in action I was impressed. But this dual band WiFi unit from AOSU is of better build quality and provides excellent images. In addition it requires no monthly fee to store and retrieve images as base unit keeps a rolling log on a few months. Cloud storage is an option but once turned down – there are no constant reminders.
Very pleased with its performance so far.
NOTE:- I did have an issue with firmware upgrade and the help chat option in the application for the unit is brilliant, plus the app its self provides helpdesk contact numbers – which again work very well with little or no waiting. My issue was dealt with in a professional and rapid manner – help was privided and clear instructions given very quickly. After trying this – the issue remained and AOSU ahve shipped a replacement unit. I am very impressed with their aftercare and the professional and helpful nature of their help agents. My contact remained the same whilst dealing with my issue – so a thank you to “Ann”.
I bought this as the Ring doorbell I had was completely useless without paying a monthly subscription and I wasn’t prepared to carry on paying, it also wasn’t working very well, the notifications were late and there was no way you could have a conversation with someone at the door as they would have gone by the time the notification arrived.
The Aosu doorbell is a revelation, the build quality is good, it is very easy to install and get it operational, the picture quality is brilliant and most importantly, the notifications come through very quickly. Basically, it does what its supposed to do very well. I’ve only had it for a week but so far it has only consumed 1% of the battery so it looks as if the 3 to 6 months on a single charge is accurate. I must say I’m very impressed.

4 March Update: I can report that after asking Alexa to show the doorbell everyday the bell has suddenly started to show the video on the Echo 5. I have done nothing in Alexa, the Echo 5 or the Aosu app. One of life’s little mysteries as to why it suddenly started working after previously spending several hours on the phone changing, resetting etc etc with no effect and culminating in being told it was not compatible.
28 Feb Update. Very impressed with Aosu support. Just followed up with Amazon and been told that this device is not compatible with Echo Show 5.
I was just going to give Aosu this feedback only to find a note from them asking if the issue had been resolved and if not to let them know. They are passing it on to their technical department and will be back in touch.
The doorbell arrived promptly and was easy to set up and record videos locally. Image quality is excellent. The video feed is available on the phone, iPad and Echo Dot 4. I haven’t mounted the doorbell outside yet given my issue, so can’t comment on its motion sensitivity or night vision but works fine indoors.
I have an issue with viewing the video feed on the Echo Show 5. I can report that the support from Aosu was excellent, so have no issue with recommending them. Given the Echo dot is fine I sense this could be an Alexa issue. Amazon have been equally supportive and the issue has been escalated so await feedback.

This item arrived on the 27th December 2023 I installed it and it was very easy to do
However it arrived with anaudio fault so I contacted AOSU immediately
On their online support to discuss the issue
They were extremely sorry to hear of the items fault
And assured me I’d receive another video doorbell ASAP although it was the holiday period however my new video doorbell arrived on Wed the 3rd January 2024

We installed the doorbell and picture quality is great but the voice was extremely tinny and you couldn’t understand what was being said . We contacted online support and upgraded the firmware but no difference. We shared a recording and were sent a new doorbell . This we installed and the sound quality is so much better .

What I like compared to others products was that you have the choice to store recordings either in the cloud ( as a subscription) or locally at no extra cost .
The doorbell also has an alarm if someone tries to tamper with it which is really loud

I had brought a similar doorbell from a different brand and the amount of times that doorbell missed the motion was unbelievable. Straight away I found that this doorbell did not miss any motion whatsoever. It always picks up everything who comes on my driveway. And the camera quality is insane. It is very clear in the day and in the night. And the app is very user-friendly and easy to use. I must say that this doorbell quality is a lot better than the Ring Doorbell which I also tested. The doorbell claims to last about 6 months which is not true at all. From my usage, and this is just normal general usage, it has lasted me 1 month. So it’s nowhere near the claimed time. However, I don’t mind charging it once a month. There is one thing that needs improving massively on this doorbell and it is the audio. The audio is terrible when you try to speak through the app. It is very laggy. There is literally no point in using the audio feature on this doorbell because it is unusable. Don’t get me wrong when people do come to my door and if they are speaking to the doorbell, if I play it back you can hear them somewhat clearly. But if you’re viewing it live it’s not very good. And the audio I find on the Ring Doorbell to be a lot more clearer and a lot more better. So that’s one thing that they need to change in the next version of this bell. They did give me a firmware update for this audio issue but this has not resolved anything. And speaking on the customer service, it is absolutely phenomenal. There is a built-in help section in the AOSU app and you can literally message them anytime and they reply to you very quickly. It’s basically like a messaging service with their customer service team and whatever questions you have, they always answer to the best of their ability. And it is so helpful to be able to just reach them whenever you like without sending long-winded emails. You can literally just drop a quick message to them in the app and they respond back very quickly. So that’s one thing I really like about this company, that they are very responsive.

when setting up make sure you follow the instructions to the letter, you might think you have already done somethings but if they tell you to do it again do it, when its set up its great, realy good quality pictures from a realy good quality product.
Not so secure
I did a lot of research regarding this doorbell cam and was pondering between the ring 4 or the AOSU ultra. I opted for the latter as the specifications appealed to me more. I must say I’m very disappointed with the doorbells mounting plate ,fixings are very poor not offering decent screws with adequate length. Seems to me that they have invested more on the camera than the base plate. I tried different longer counter sunk screws but the camera would not clip onto the base plate so obviously that’s why they use these pathetic small screws. Any would be thief would have this camera off the wall in no time you don’t even have a small locking screw at the bottom like the ring 4 to prevent removal. On this camera you have a small hole to stick a pin like object to remove the camera. You do get an alarm but I think this would be too little too late and your expensive camera would be gone. Overall picture quality is no better than on my friends ring 4 doorbell so I’m not overly impressed with this AOSU. PLUS points are easy to set up and connect with my Amazon echo show 5 and it has instant notifications with no time lag. DOWNSIDES are the fixings and no security screws to prevent removal. 6 months of usage the doorbell decided to stop working disconnecting from my internet and echo show 5 monitor. Despite trying everything I could it refused to work. I contacted there superb customer support and was assisted by Ann. I must say she tried everything to get me back up and running but to no avail, decided to arrange for a replacement in the end. Cannot fault this companies response it was first class.
Easy to setup & use
This is a fantastic easy to setup from linking to the router to your phone.
The use of it is also fairly easy to use + informative.
My only advise I have given the company is a small booklet explaining what each function does compared to other similar settings.
Also a common Q + A section would be of help either in the booklet or YouTube links.

I’ve been using a Eufy version for a while which I wasn’t happy with the performance. It needed the app to be restarted to review the latest events due to a “no events today” screen plus, the notifications lagged excessively in my opinion.
I took a risk on this AOSU being better and I’m so happy I did. Notifications are fast and events are ready to review extremely quickly. It’s wired to a plug in 24Vac transformer, hopefully won’t need to remove it for charging.
The events are stored on the indoor chime on non replaceable memory rather than an SD card.
Highly recommended.

It turns out this doorbell is much better than the ring but I wont be able to talk to people still. perhaps fibre to home is needed.I am currently getting 6.21 mb/s download and upload of .78
UPDATE
Changed to fibre to the cabinet and things are much improved but not perfect.
Talking to a caller when mobile (connected via 4g) is next to impossible but when connected via wifi while away from home is great.
clearly my 4g signal is too weak and unlikely to get 5g as the tin foil hat brigade keep objecting to planning with made up “facts” (sic)
If it helps others I have found connecting the doorbell to the router via 2.4 is far more stable than 5ghz.
Finally a smart doorbell that lets me speak to the visitor.
I have had a ring wired doorbell for a few years that has simply never (not even once) allowed me to talk to anyone pressing the bell push. That is despite being only a few metres from my router, the video would freeze, the audio would stutter and most times the picture would update to show not only the caller gone but their vehicle too..just rubbish.
I have had the aosu for 24 hours and cant wait to praise it, the installation took less than 10 mins as i used the ring power supply.
The picture is crystal clear, even night vision is great though my drive is infra red flooded by another camera.
I left notifications on but am pleased that i have not been disturbed by false alarms of movement.
My bell faces a road so i set a zone that only covers the block paving so that still catches anyone actually on my drive but not cars passing, setting zones is so intuitive on the app, you just drag pointers to the shape that you require.
Local storage / no subscription is a must for me. There is an option to have face recognition but you cant have that without cloud storage for which there is a charge,. the functions without cloud storage are good enough.
I will update with more information as it gets used more.
Easy setup and easy to use
The bell was easy to set up and in everyday use it is easy to use. I had to play around with the motion zone as it was picking up people shadows, but other than that no complaints.
This is a great alternative to Ring and Blink doorbells. I’ve got four Aosu battery powered security cameras that have been working perfectly, so getting a doorbell that uses the same app was a no-brainer.
In the box you get the large doorbell, plug-in sounder, doorbell holder and additional bracket to angle the doorbell one way or the other a bit. There’s a USB-C lead for charging, small screwdriver and fixing screws.
The doorbell can work on battery power or can also use your current AC supply. They provide terminals to connect to the AC supply as well, for permanent installations.
It’s easy to set up the doorbell and pair with the sounder. Alexa even detected it was installed and I could add it to my list of devices. This means it now announces “there is someone at the front door” when the bell button is pressed. The bell sounder is quite loud as it is, but this allows you to have multiple sounders by using an Echo or Dot as well.
Picture quality is great, especially close up. The IR facility doesn’t blow out highlights and you can easily recognise people from a distance. The blue around the bell push flashes when motion is detected, serving to draw their attention to the fact they are being recorded, and where the bell push is. The button is easy to press and triggers immediately from the sounder and the app.
You can select multiple sounds from the doorbell (selected in the app) and they are all quite clear. It’s certainly louder than my previous one. A very bright flashing light would have been a nice addition for deaf people though.
The sounder holds the video in internal memory, so even if the doorbell is pinched, you have the images still. There’s an option to have an alarm go off if it’s removed which is helpful though.
Video is easy to access and review, and the app even has preset phrases in a male voice to deter people snooping outside or ask what they are doing. It’s a tad “jolly” but may fool some people to believe it’s a real person talking.
Overall it’s an excellent device. Very good picture quality, great battery life and all the features you’d need. You’ll be able to see people and interact even when you’re away. No subscription required unless you want longer cloud storage options (could be useful if you’re away for a long while and have lots of triggers on the device).

I am very happy to have installed an Aosu door bell. The picture quality is excellent ( night and day ),
the back up service is very good, another great advantage is that you don`t have to pay for a subscription and set up a contract . HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

This is an excellent doorbell- great camera and the fact you don’t need to pay for cloud storage makes it a really affordable option. When I had an issue with it and the doorbell battery stopped working, customer service were flawless and sent me a new one. Excellent service and I would highly recommend this product and seller.

Wanted a video doorbell but did not want to pay subscription. Bought a different make previously, only to find it could not connect to my phone,as it was a different frequency, this unit is both 2.4ghz and 5.0ghz and it works well. Reviewed a number of video doorbells before buying. This one had everything needed and no subscription required for reviewing videos. Also works on 5 ghz wifi where a lot of them dont. There is an option to buy a subscription if you want to keep videos in the cloud but not if you want to view them locally.
It’s easy to install and battery life so far has been good. If you keep watching the live stream it will drain the battery but for normal use it is fine. Had it up for 3 weeks now and battery life is still about 75%.
Can have multiple people linked to it so anyone in house can view videos and answer door. Intercom facility is great and can use a voice changer to speak to people.
There is an anti theft alarm. Just remember to disable when removing it to recharge!

Great picture and easy to install
The first bell sent to me was defective, it would not hold its charge and the wired connection did not work. However, AOSU replaced it and the new bell works perfectly.
I am able to adjust the motion detection to record only humans approaching my door. The picture recorded is very clear and crisp, and the night picture is also good. Installation was not difficult, though it took some time for it to connect to my wifi which is strong. The bell volume is adjustable and loud enough to be heard throughout my house. The app is well designed and logical though it no longer shows the % battery charge just a bar, this may be because it is no longer needed as the wiring from my transformer is driving the bell. I don’t think it charges the battery as well, though this is not really an issue.
All motion is recorded and the app puts a double click on my mobile phone, so even if away from home I can see who is at the door and talk to them.
Although cloud storage is offered at a pricee, I cannot see why it would be needed, as the internal storage will record a large number of events and then loop when full, like a car cam.
Altogether, delighted.

Bought after doing a lot of research . Has very little if any false alarms as it has AI , radar and infra red working together,unlike many of the leading brands ! The battery lasts and lasts as advertised . I have not needed to charge it yet since installation 4 months ago . The video clarity is also better than most other products advertised on eBay and most importantly,it has dual band WiFi ..so a strong connection . Two small issues …1. when not at home , ring notification to phone takes a long time to come through and is therefore ineffective …the courier has already gone back to their car/ van .( When at home and phone on home WiFi ,ring notification comes immediately to the phone and also to the chime ). 2. Can’t batch delete clips for say 1 month ..can do batch delete 1 day at a time . Less of an issue but a software update to allow batch delete of ,say 1 month or more than 1 day at a time would be better . All in all , I don’t think there is another competitor with the combination of high specs and low cost .

Video doorbell
Very easy to install, download app and follow instructions.. The battery’s were half charged when I fitted the video doorbell.. Its been over two weeks and they are still showing half a charge.. Can’t wait to see how far a full charge lasts.
Picture quality is very good day and night.
It also differentiates between humans and animals only notifies you when a person approaches.. All in all very pleased so far…
Best camera on market at price!
The quality and feel of the product is top notch unlike others I have used. Best thing compared to many others is no unnecessary motion detection notifications. I only get the important ones. Not even one gets by compared to others that are truly a headache. The other crucial point is no extra cost for buying SD card or a subscription for using cloud. None of that! It has its own memory bank that never runs out and records 60 days before looping. Moreover, this is stored indoors and not on the bell so that a thief can easily have access to it. The picture quality in daylight and at night is amazing! Can zoom but this affects picture quality. Can hard wire easily with right kit/charger. This is truly install and forget. Had an issue but seller rectified very very quickly. I’d be buying more products from this manufacturer.

Easy to set-up, decent picture quality and good to be able to use existing doorbell wires so not relying on the battery. Only thing I don’t like is the privacy for neighbours, it just leaves a black box in the middle of the screen, would be better if you could set the privacy so it doesn’t record that bit but still be able to see rather than a black box
Firstly my revue is for the Doorbell Ultra.
Compared to my previous IeGeek doorbell it’s physically huge! And with the 15 degree spacer fitted, it sticks out a long way too, making it very very easy to palm the whole thing from the door frame. The clip-on arrangement is only made of a plastic locking arrangement and uses a pointed key to push the plastic locking clip upwards to release the bell push from the base. I’ve since had to drill the casing and secure with a self tapping screw.
I haven’t yet worked out what the three 3D zones work, but I certainly have had no false alerts, not even when a passing cat or fox activates the floodlight situated way up above. Which is good.
The Homebase ring tones aren’t very loud, and there’s only a choice of three.
It’s a pity I had no choice but to buy a battery powered bell-push as all I wanted was one made solely for hard wiring. That’s probably why it’s so big. So far the battery alone has lasted for months on a single charge. Contrary to the ‘don’t buy’ revues.
In all, it’s well made except for the flimsy locking design which is made worse if you use the 15 degree spacer.
The picture is very good, and I like the aspect ratio, which is one of the reasons I purchased this particular make of bell. The playback interface set-up is good too, with easy to understand playback and recording of clips. Another bonus of course is that you don’t have to pay a subscription to Cloud. And as the Homebase storage method safely stores all footage there little need for Cloud storage anyway. Set up of the App and hardware was very easy, you were guided all the way through with clear worded instructions. The alert notices are a bit Chinglish, such as ‘the bell has ringing for you’ ( or something like that).
I’m a little puzzled regarding many of the one star don’t buy revues, particularly the one’s complaining of poor movement sensitivity. There are three zones you can use in conjunction with each other to give you the ideal settings you require.
I would certainly recommend the bell, but bear in mind my criticisms.
Customer service have been very good regarding my comments. Brady in particular has been ‘most forthcoming, in ensuring a satisfactory outcome.
Our builder didn’t install any power for a doorbell when we had a major house rebuild, so we have been without a doorbell for nearly 5 years! I came across the new AOSU 5MP doorbell which seemed to have a great battery life, which most other doorbells don’t seem to have. We desperately needed a doorbell so I gave it a try. I was completely amazed. The quality is amazing. The battery life is supposedly 180 days, which I was dubious about, but I have not had to charge it for the past 2 months and it is still going strong! My friends who have a Ring doorbell are also amazed by the AOSU doorbell picture quality and responsive, which they say is superior than Ring. I would 100% recommend the 5MP doorbell from AOSU which you can use wired or wireless, with the added bonus that there is no subscription for storing your video. Well done AOSU!
