A good quality product which was bought to replace a Fireangel product that had only lasted three years and we had cost more money. This item has a built-in battery with a 10 year life and the product itself seems to be of a superior quality and a better design altogether. The displays are superb. It is also very good value for money.
Very easy to install. LCD is good. It will be really good if battery lasts for 10 years. It is better than wired monitor.
Arrived well packaged. Instructions easy to follow. Installation was dead easy. Have fitted it in my caravan, replacing the original that was now out of date. Opted for this one as it gave smoke and Co2 detection. Like the fact it’s a 10 year battery, which is the lifespan of the item anyway. I’ll leave a note in 10 years to say whether it lasted or not!! Looks great in the caravan. Very happy so far.
Service and delivery were great. Prompt and arrive well within specified time frame. However time will tell about its durability , efficiency and whether it is good value for money . Will be be just as good and last the 10 years , as specified, remains to be seen .

A big selling point for me was the 10 year battery life. This is where it has let me down.
Bought March 2020, with manufactured date of 2019. Activated, ie switched on from new, and now June 2021 it is beeping every minute which is annoying and reporting a low battery.
I’ve contacted manufacturer and hopefully I’ll get a replacement or free repair. In-situ it looks good and hopefully will alarm as required but todate I’ve had no cause for an alarm (new boiler!). It’s annoying that the stated battery claim is for 10 years and I’ve had it for 1 1/2 years max.
For now just a 1 star rating.
Update June 2021: Manufacturer has replaced this with new, Free of charge. Time will tell if battery is good for 10 years. Good response from manufacturer and good alarm (I think as it’s not gone off yet) so updated to 4 stars.
Needed a new smoke alarm & decided on this make/model after looking at a variety across the board. Long lasting & seems good value for money. Easy to install & mount seems to be ok.

This product was easily installed, and the alarm sounds are very loud!
The battery is not replaceable because it lasts for ten years, although it will be tested regularly I won’t have to keep worrying about it.
It seems well made easy to fit instructions slightly confusing, but all round seems ok, can’t comment on battery life only had it a short while.

Easy to use and install. Follow the instructions and you can go wrong. Found easiest way to install was to get one screw in the backing plate and then mark and drill the other holes. Write on your date insta and leave if till it beeps out 20 years later. A flash of green light every now and then endure it’s on. Always test regularly.
Liked one alarm combined smoke and CO2 detector.
Needed to use a local handyman to install it. With double sided tape to fix it would I could have done it myself.

Is when attaching the back plate to a wall there is nothing to let you know where the top should be.

Did a lot of research on replacing existing smoke detectors these quite rightly come out as highlyy recommended.
Great product, provides piece of mind in our garage conversion where we have our boiler, can rest easy.
The only problem was aligning the holes for drilling. It would be helpful yo have a template although i made one easily enough out of paper.
Battery life – i will tell you in ten years if the claim is justified.
Test facility works well. Fortunately I do not know it actually functions because we have not had a fire
The unit was very easy to install, I put mine at the top of the stairs. Very easy to test, however I would have liked to have had a verbal warning for each of the alarms, as my previous detector (from another manufacturer) announced verbally whether it was a fire or CO detected, hence 4 and not 5 stars. I like the fact that there’s no batteries to worry about, just fit and forget (but remembering the weekly test). All together a very competent unit.
It doesn’t blow off if you smoke inside of the room or if you burn a bagel in the microwaves.
It does start ringing if it senses a real fire like when a piece of wood fells out of the chimney. (true story 🙂 )
So it definitely works and I definitely recommend it. I will order more of them, for each room.
Too early to rate battery as only recently purchased. Looks smart and very easy to set up and install.
Starting them up was straightforward and installing them was kinda ok. I didn’t want to screw them in so I used the magnetic plates purchased separately. As recommended I left the magnet plates on the device and the ceiling where the smoke alarms will be placed for 24 hours before attaching but in my case the one magnet was not as strong to keep the smoke alarm up so I doubled up with the magnet and it has worked so much better.
It’s great having the peace of mind of both the smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector in one device then having to purchase separate ones. And as smoke alarms go these ones look pretty smart and great quality. Time will tell I guess as they are newly fitted but so far so good, really happy I went for these.
I like the idea of it being a combined unit (CO and smoke detection) as this has replaced my old smoke detector which would alarm just from the heat in the kitchen!
Cannot comment on the battery life of 10yrs as I have only had it for a few weeks.

This unit has been placed in an area to cover all rooms that run off it. It was fitted and activated two weeks ago. Appears to work fine and I test every week as advised.

Once switched on you cant switch off – so the battery life starts ticking the moment you click the mount into place.
After having a leak and reading up, this type of kit is a must in any home.

What price safety?
After a number of years changing batteries I decided (after my CO monitor told me it was passed its shelf life) – to buy a unit that contained a fire and Carbon monoxide detector. The bonus was that the battery is guaranteed for 10 years.

We wanted a combination alarm due to having a woodburner installed , and needed an upstairs carbon monoxide detector also. This fits the bill perfectly. Job done, family protected for another 10 years. What’s not to like?
Carbon monoxide (CO) is the silent killer, it is odourless and invisible and can be produced by a faulty boiler or badly burning stove. Having a newly installed wood burning stove we were told that a CO alarm was compulsory to have the stove signed off. The best way to protect your family from this killer gas is to buy a alarm.
The X-sense alarm combines both the CO and smoke alarm together. It contains a sealed 10 year battery which means no need to replace any batteries, it is single use so once the 10 years is over you throw it out and replace. On test mode the alarm is very very loud. It would definitely wake even the heaviest of sleepers. The LED display is easy to read and the green light flashes twice a minute to tell you it is still active. There is also a low battery alert so you know when to replace the alarm.
I have had a bad experience with our previous “10 year” alarm form Fire Angle. The so called 10 year alarm only lasted 4 years. Hopefully the X-Sense will fair a lot better but only time will tell.
In summary buy this, or buy another model but do not dwell on this and please buy your alarm today! This is a life saving device which should be mandatory in every home.
What a great idea to have a smoke detector and a carbon monoxide detector combined in the same unit. Saves on space and keeps it all together to make it easier to monitor. I love the LED panel that shows the levels of carbon monoxide in real time and also shows battery life. It makes my other smoke alarms look positively old fashioned!
Needed some additional alerts and these seem to be as good as any other product. Easy to install and set up.
Some of these units make noises and you don’t know if you have a problem or just need a new battery.
I think this one is a bit easier to understand than most.
Seems to be quite durable and high quality build.
It seems well manufactured, easy to install and offers the reassurance of ten year life of battery.
Perfect replacement. Our last one had a 5 year battery which lasted 6! This stops the problem with batteries going flat and not being replaced as in older models. If it goes off from toast it can be cancelled with a simple tap. This is also a carbon monoxide detector and has a readout on the front giving the concentration. 85db horn so you won’t miss it! This is a premum item and worth the price.
As smoke detectors go this is quite a smart looking device, solidly built, it of course also detects CO concentrations. It is easy to fit and little needs to be done to it once fitted and activated (once activated it does not switch off again, and runs for the life of the battery, claimed to be 10 years). It displays information when necessary, and the alarm is loud loud!
We have placed this in the same room as our boiler and gives us great peace of mind. Unlike other detectors I have had in the past, this one has an LCD screen that shows you the battery life (great for peace of mind) and how much CO has been detected.
The detector is not hard-wired but has a built-in lithium battery, these can’t be replaced but they claim it will last for 10 years – pretty impressive. When a false alarm occurs, the unit can be silenced by pushing the button on the detector.
Pretty decent device.
This was very easy to install, a fire alarm is definitely a necessity but cheap versions I’ve had before have been over sensitive, this one doesn’t just go off if you burn your toast which is saving me waking my youngest child every time I try to make sneaky toast for breakfast.
It’s as good as a smoke alarm can look, the plastic cover is easy to access the buttons if required. My step father is a fireman and said as long as it alerts a fire its doing his job, luckily I haven’t heard it in an emergency but I’ve did the test run and it would definitely alert you.
Smoke alarms are essential items on the home but we don’t give them much thought. This is a combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarm. Easy to instal and the battery should last 10 years – great news as this is a pain to remember to do. The LCD display is a nice addition so you can easily see the status of the battery. The alarm is pretty loud at 85 dB. The price is compatible to buying the two units separately. Great item.
There is a front LED to determine the operating status of the product, in addition to the “test” function.
It is advisable not to install it right above the stove, simply because even in the case of minimum smoke, the alarm goes off, therefore it is good to install it in the kitchen but at a distance from the stove in order to detect a slightly more considerable smoke, rather than a minimum smoke that sometimes it is normal in cooking.
If the alarm goes off, it must be turned off by pressing the central button and then advisable to install it at a height that can be reached to be turned off. I saw friends using a broom.

As we use a wood burner sometimes, we though it a good idea to fit one of these. It was easy to do and the alarm is very loud.

This is a sleek looking smoke alarm with the added feature of a carbon monoxide detector, from afar it looks like the hardwired version but in actual fact, it’s a disposable alarm. Having said that, the alarm does have a 10-year battery life which I can’t confirm or deny but nevertheless it’s reassuring.
On the front of this fire alarm there is a blue LCD screen that shows the battery life as well as the CO concentration which is impressive indeed and in my opinion justifies the higher than usual price.
This is a very good smoke alarm that works as well as looking good. But please remember to check the alarm regularly to make sure it’s working as it should by pressing the test button. A siren should go off and on and believe me the siren is loud!
I think this is a great 2-in-1 smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector. It was easy to install and seems to be working well. I particularly like the fact that there is a lcd screen that says the level of carbon monoxide detected. Very occasionally we have a little trouble with our log burner where it can let off low levels of carbon monoxide- at least with a visible display we can assess how much- we previously had an alarm that would go off at the slightest amount which of course is a good thing but at least it gives us more of an idea.
Also has a 10 year battery life which works the best for us as then we don’t need to worry about replacing for a while or having it linked up to mains electrics.

We already have a smoke detector in our kitchen that the fire brigade fitted nearly 10 year ago that also has a 10 year battery life but that 10 year is nearly up so now we have this too which is Defftinatley needed.
Was easy to fit, I did it so anybody can I’m sure, it’s that easy.
We have never had a carbon Monoxide Alarm since we have lived here nearly 10 years, this has given us great peace of mind now.

No exposed wires like our current fixed-in mains operated existing unit – which is has an audible hindrance when the backup battery power fails, only to find you don’t have spare. This one is fitted with a 10 year sealed lithium battery which is irreplaceable. The battery power can be checked at will.
An accurate digital reading of the concentration of carbon monoxide in your home which quells concern, we have young children so this offers some peace of mind. Personally, I always like to have a back up combination detector running, just offset from the main unit too. Just in case there is a fault or the main unit fails.
A well built and sleek looking unit with a fair sized digital screen with a good bright contrast between the digital reading and the blue background, I can read it from floor level without having to remove the unit from the ceiling.

It is recommended to change a Smoke/Carbon Monoxide detector after 10 years anyway, so over the long term this device costs the same if not less over its lifespan, whilst offering better sensing capabilities. Inside the box you get the sensor, a ceiling/wall mounting bracket, mounting screws/raw plugs and a comprehensive user manual.
The combination detector has a backlit LCD screen that provides readouts of CO levels in PPM (parts per million) and battery status. An updated measurement taken every 10 seconds to provide real time status levels. The LCD screen will completely shut off after 5 minutes of inactivity to save battery power, and can be activated by pressing the Test/Silence button which will turn on the backlight and display the current CO amount.
The 360 degree design with air vents allows the detector to be mounted on a ceiling (which is recommended) or on a wall if ceiling mounting is not possible. Its advertised to be 3x more accurate at detections to prevent false alarms. The alarm is loud and will continuously sound if high/dangerous levels of CO or smoke is detected. There is also a red LED light that will flash to provide a visual indication of alarm. Depending on the amount of CO detected, there are different alarm/alert rules for smoke and carbon monoxide detection. For a false alarm (say you burned your food by accident) the alarm can be silenced for 9 minutes at a time but it will continue to flash the LED and monitor the smoke/CO levels.
Once the detector is installed and switched on it cannot be manually turned off. There is however a deactivation process that needs to be followed after the 10 years is up to completely shut off the detector so its ready for disposal. The LCD display will also show END on the screen so the unit can be replaced.
Overall, I think this is a far better alternative to regular smoke & carbon monoxide detectors. It costs more up front, but over the course of 10 years not only will it save you money but keep you safe with very little hassle. Ours is being installed in the kitchen to replace an old unit that hasn’t worked for a while.

I was impressed with this Combination Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Alarm with LCD Display. It was very easy to install and has now been up for a couple of days without any problems. The unit was a replacement for a simple smoke alarm and it will detect both smoke and carbon monoxide – always worth having if you have an elderly gas boiler!! The LCD display makes the unit look as expensive as a hard wired model and the fact that you do not have to worry about replacing the battery for ten years makes it well worth the cost.
What I particularly like about this detector is that it has a pre-fitted battery which is expected to last around ten years. So no more being woken up in the middle of the night with a battery low warning beep and having to remember to change the battery.
The alarm is loud, very clear and unlike my last alarm, pressing the reset button stops the noise.
Installation is easy. 3 simple screws and plugs provided. Took me 5 mins to put up.

Alarm comes with sealed lithium battery that suppose to last 10 years! Fantastic! You don’t have to worry about replacing the batteries every now and then (do not forget to test it on regular basis anyway, for safety).
It also looks rather sleek and contemporary, I’ll be happy to replace my outdated one with this one.
