A front and rear view camera system is pretty much an essential driving accessory these days. With dubious folk out to make a profit from other people’s insurance, and others being dishonest about their own driving skills (or lack of) – a dash cam looking front and back is just what you need to prove that others and not you are the cause of incidents.
The camera was relatively easy to install, notwithstanding the efforts to run a cable the length of the car and ensure it is well tucked away and routed well.
The picture quality is good, more than satisfactory for a dash cam. The menus are a bit ugly and clunky, but functional.
I haven’t had to use it for an incident, thank goodness, but hope and expect that it will be reliable at that point.
I’m sure that there are better dashcams out there, if you are willing to pay a lot more, but this is pretty decent, especially for the price of it.
Having said that, I have only tried it out temporarily because it is going to be a challenge for me to fit it properly – and that is partly down to my own competence and confidence. For a start, our car has a load of electronics and sensors behind the mirror, for sensing rain, road markings and speed signs so there are fewer options for placement on the windscreen. There is also the matter of the cables. They are nice and long, but really thick, so harder to route tidily.
It will not be too bad to manage the front camera cables, but running one all the way to the back could be a challenge. It does not help that our car’s interior is all a very light colour and the cables are thick black ones. However, the rear camera is optional and the front one can be used on its own.
On the plus side, at this price you can go ahead and fix everything permanently and not think about removing it all when you change cars. Actually I do wonder whether this sort of thing will eventually be standard in cars anyway, or at least more common, in the same way that parking sensors, sat navs and hands-free phone connection all used to be things you would buy as accessories but are now common options or even standard. It is for that reason I wouldn’t want to spend a lot on a dashcam now.
Firstly – the feature set, the picture quality is all decent enough. It does feel a bit dated in a way in terms of the menu styles, but for 99.99 with two cameras, wifi, etc it does seem reasonable value.
I would recommend reading reviews here of people who can actually use this as for now I can’t – disappointingly.
I also cannot compare fairly to other dashcams as I have not had one previously.
I am going to have to really take time to plan this installation and figure things out.
The reason for this is the car’s shape and length. My car is LONG. A huge estate. No issues with cable length, it’s brilliant, they’ve thought that out and given you plenty. I was skeptical, I admit!
The problem is having to run it along the length of the car, encountering airbags and such like. It’s not terribly easy. My boot opens and leaves a very large hatch – I love this feature of my car, but it means the camera won’t play nicely with it so easily. Most will be relatively small – but this almost folds back on itself. Not easy to affix the lead then that runs from the rear camera to the front camera without it getting squashed when you close it. I also have a lot of airbags, and I have some concerns about how I fit this around them.
Another element – I have a very long raking windscreen. I also love this feature of my car. However, with the leads coming out the top of the camera, to fix it in the middle it needs to be too far down the windscreen. Plus then you have the leads running up the windscreen. We’re into an obstacle in the window territory, which is illegal I believe.
I do think this can be fitted, and I very much want to fit it – but I may have to visit my local specialist guy and see how others are fitting these to this particular model of car.
I have to say though, for the lack of compatibility in this very specific situation, the bits you’re provided with do seem to be of help and well thought out.
I am going to give this 5 stars. It would be unfair to do otherwise. But to get a view on what it’s like to live with day-to-day, I would 100% recommend reading the more detailed reviews left, but perhaps you might want to visualise the problems I have detailed in case your motor has those same elements to figure out. I look forward to getting this fitted, however, and I am quite sure I will fathom a solution to it without accidentally triggering airbags, etc!
I do hope, you found this review helpful 🙂
This is my first time of using a Dash Cam and my main concern was how to conceal the wires, but following the instructions and using the tool supplied made it easier then I had expected. Due to the position of the built-in traffic recognition camera in my car I was unable to attach in the recommended place, in middle of windscreen. Photo above is to show where I have placed mine. As per instructions I downloaded the app and paired the Dash Cam with my phone enabling me to access all recordings. One little niggle is the amount of notification sounds though I was able to simply turn them off via settings. Recording is of a very good quality and should I ever be involved in an accident there will be crystal clear evidence. A big advantage is that recording begins as soon as engine is switched on, another great feature is should my car be hit by another vehicle while parked the Dash Cam senses the movement and begins to record. In case you drive a larger car be assured that the length of cable supplied for rear camera is more than sufficient. Overall I am extremely pleased with mine.
The Zerogogo dash cam arrived very nicely boxed with all its cables and instructions and in perfect condition. The cameras are both compact and lightweight. They look very sleek yet feel solidly constructed.
The instructions are pretty straightforward to follow. The sticky pad/ suction cup on the cameras are easy to use and feel secure. Fitting the cameras is the long winded bit but once in place, I’ve had no problems.
The cams turn on automatically when the engine starts. The camera supports a huge amount of SD card memory unlike my previous dash cam that only supports 32gb. It also loops over old data to create room.
The imagery is super sharp and clear, I was actually really surprised by the picture quality, it’s so crisp, even at night. The rear viewing cam is just as good. It’s got wide view and night vision for low light driving. You can change all the light settings etc from the menu. You can fast play, forward, rewind, playback, delete, zoom into your footage or switch between the cameras.
This dash cam includes g sensor to store collision data safely. It recognises a collision and protects that data from overwrite. Otherwise, the recording loops over the old video with the new. The data can be saved to my laptop easily from the SD card.
I am really pleased with this dash cam, it is a massive improvement on my last one and it’s definitely a comfort when driving.
I am blown away at the quality of this camera. Very good resolution and picture resolution. You can also select the picture quality you want. Night vision is also good.
This is a great little setup that pretty much covers any eventuality so many people just use a front dashcam but with data showing that approximately 400,000 rear-end bumps happen each year in the UK I think in 2021 it’s only wise to have both front and rear cameras, the image quality from this dual dashcam is really good, crystal clear 1080p footage from both cameras, it has all the must-have features like wide dynamic range (though still try to not include too much sky in the image when positioning the cameras), g sensor to protect footage in a crash etc.
Build quality is great and so far it has been working flawlessly, the night footage is really good too, more than useable, 5 stars from me, highly recommended to all.
This works really well it’s my first dash cam so can’t compare to others on the market but I am very pleased with it. Easy to set up.
This is a really high-quality dash cam that was delivered quickly and in good quality packaging. It is easy to set up and use, and you will have to connect it to your phone via Bluetooth which is very easy to do. It is also easy to install onto your car, and everything you need is included.
It charges quickly and has a long battery life which is good. There is a front dashcam as well as a rearview camera which is great. The quality of the recording is really good and it is super clear and HD. You can download the app to look at the recorded footage which is easy to do.
Overall, It works really well and it does the job, I highly recommend it, and good value for money.
