I’ve been using these coolers in my kids school lunchboxes this term, and basically they do exactly what they promise. It’s such good peace of mind to pop one of these in with their food and know that it’s effectively keeping it refrigerated and fresh until lunchtime.

They will come in for regular use during the summer, and will be the first thing I’m putting in the cool bag.

    Great stuff.

We recently went to a holiday cottage and had to break the journey half way. I had packed a cool bag full of frozen food to save a shopping trip on arrival and I used these to pack amongst the food. When we arrived after a night in a hotel the next afternoon, all of the food was still frozen solid. The cool bag on its own would not have achieved this and I think that a set of these are an absolute essential for this type of job.

My initial impression of these freeze boards was that they were thin – thinner that what I have had before. Being smaller means that they will freeze quicker but the reverse is also true, that they would defrost quicker.

Having frozen them, I used 2 of them in a small cool bag to keep a few cans cold. They kept the cans cold for about 6 hours, as cold as they were in the fridge. Another 6 hours and they were still cooler than room temperature.

Overall, I found these be an effective and compact way to keep a small amount of food/cans cold for a good few hours.

Quick to freeze & good for small cool bags

    These freeze boards are available in 200ml, 400ml and 800ml. I received 2 x 400ml and 1 x 800ml boards to review

Freeze boards are ideal for using in cool bags, to pack away and take food to the beach, for a picnic or for a train journey etc. Not only will they keep your food cool and fresh, but will keep drinks cold too

All you need to do, is place in the freezer overnight and then pack in your coolbag next day. They can keep food and drink cool for up to 10 hours when placed in a coolbag or cool box

These boards can be washed clean using soapy water, but are not suitable for cleaning in the dishwasher

We’re going on a self catering holiday soon and I’ll be packing some food away in my coolbag using these boards, we have a journey of around 7 hours, so I know my food will still be cool and fresh on our arrival. Brilliant invention

I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending these boards

Great for using in cool bags

Liked these right off the bat, good quality, freeze evenly and keep cool for a decent length of time. My area is prone to power outages due to overhead cables so these have the added bonus of keeping food cold during prolonged outages (none recently thankfully). Very handy of course cool boxes and a single one for a lunch bag. Recommend.

I really like the slimness of these ice packs and their choice of sizes.
Before they had even made it into my freezer I noticed that they already felt colder than my older but still slim current ice packs.
I usually use ice packs when taking Westcountry supplies which have already been frozen to a family member up country. Depending on how and when I travel it can take anywhere between 3.5 hours to at least 6 hours and I can do without the food defrosting on my journey so these are a great help. Being so slim they enable me to use the ice packs on all 4 sides as well as underneath and on top of currently frozen foods which then keeps the food from defrosting and stops me from worrying if there is a problem on the roads and long delays which seems to be happening much more frequently.
The smaller ones are also very convenient for picnics, especially where the cool bag needs to be carried any distance.

These freezer blocks are half the thickness of our old ones, and quite a bit lighter.

I find the 400ml is perfect to sit in the bottom of my insulated lunch bag and keeps everything plenty cold enough.

The 800ml meanwhile is great for our cool box. Rather than a handful of small blocks this large single one does the job brilliantly, keeping everything nicely chilly for over 12 hours.

The price is very fair as they feel tough and should last well.

I hope you find my review helpful.

Left this in our insulated cool bag we always take with us when shpping. It was left in here zipped up alone, and after 6hrs, it was still icy cold to the touch.

I love how thing this item is, when we next need to keep our frozen goods at a low tempature for longer, this will surely help the process, but will all depend on how many you purchase, how you intend on using them and what existing insulating measures you apply.

These ice blocks have come on leaps and bounds since I last received them.

I will be using on days or weekends out, picnics or to keep drink chilled.

I just keep mine in the freezer constantly as space saving

A decent size, I didn’t want bigger sizes ore bulk.

Easy to slip into a picnic basket or cooler etc.

Do not take too much room up, and easy to pack around the sides of a bag.

I am really pleased, lasts hours before defrosting, depending on the weather conditions

Very slim the ones I have picked, comes in various thickness as required.

Very happy and I do recommend as so neat and takes up minimal space.

    Thank you to the seller

I hope my review helps you

    Brilliant, and freezing cold

Pack of four slim line freezer boards. Good to have in your lunch/picnic bag where space is limited.

It’s mainly when we go off in the car to do a ‘big’ shop that we need a supply of ice packs. The occasional picnic too, but they are very ‘occasional’ these days! We don’t live very close to any shops so keeping things cool on a shopping day is absolutely essential.

We have an array of insulated boxes and bags and generally stuff all of the ice packs that we own into them. The ARCTICMAX ‘Freeze Boards’ will be joining the gang og ice packs on our next shopping adventure. What I really like about these though is that they are a very compact size, especially in their width at around half an inch. This means that they will easily slip in between packets of frozen food, with far less difficulty. We consume a lot of fresh fish in our house and it’s essential to keep the fish well and truly chilled for a few hours whilst the shopping is being done.

They seem very similar to others that we have, apart from their size and I think that the cost of around 2.25 per pack is not bad at all.

Excellent ice packs, more compact than most. Good value.

I popped these slim freeze boards in the freezer and checked on them an hour and half later and they were fully frozen, so I’d say that they freeze quickly, and I didn’t even put them in the fast-freeze drawer. I don’t know how long they’d been frozen for when I checked on them.

The larger one is a good size to fit in the freezer drawer and will give added piece of mind during a power cut. They are so thin that they hardly add any bulk to your drawer so they can easily stay there when you don’t need them for your cool bag. That’s great as they will be good to go exactly when you need them.

The smaller ones fit my insulated lunch box and don’t take up much space at all. The larger one fits in the bottom of my cool bag and I can also pop a small one in the top compartment if I want as well.

I’ve always thought that the old-fashioned brick style cool blocks were really useful and a great idea but these slim ones just take it to the next level as they hardly use up any space. I think it’s a genius idea.

Mine will live in the freezer so that they are ready to go when I need them for out and about, while also helping to reduce spoilage during the dreaded power cuts or if the freezer breaks.

We are getting ready for our camping expeditions
Part of the prep is having a way to cool food and these freezer sheets looked like they would be very helpful .
I am trying a multi size pack which is 1 board of 800ml and 2 of 400ml
    This comprises of 2 at 25cm x 14cm size and 1 at 25cm x 32.5cm size all are 15mm thick

They are Gel filled and sealed shut so you put them in the freezer as is and get em out when they are frozzed.

The size and shape is ideal for adding to a cooler box or small camping fridge.
We have a cooler box which isnt very big so having thin blocks is a really good way to get them cold across the bottom or /and sides where fatter blocks would have used up all the space.
They fit better in our small freezer too without having to empty out food items to make way for them because you can slide them in at the sides or on top .

These can be washed clean with soapy water if they get a bit foody in use.
    Not for dishwasher use .

Because they are quite light weight, you could easily have them in your cold bag when shopping for frozen foods or in your insulated bag for picnicking.

    They keep cold ages.
Obviously not for days but a goodly long time over a day (will depend how you are using them).

    Good value for freezer sheets.

slimline and hold the cold well

This ultra thin 800ml freezer board fits perfectly inside our picnic cool box we take on days out. You just take it out of the freezer and pop it straight in the cool box and it keeps everything chill all day long. It is easy to clean being made from a plastic type material, then it just goes back in the freezer until it’s next needed and being very thin it hardly takes up any noticeable room in the freezer.

I really like these. They are far slimmer than the usual freeze blocks that I’ve used in the past, which means that they’re lighter and take up less room. They appear to be robust, well-made and not likely to split. They don’t take long to freeze and so far, they’re holding up well against defrosting.

At the time of writing this review, the cost is 8.99 for 4 x 200ml and that’s good value. A very easy 5 stars from me.

These are even better than imagined. They are about one centimetre thick but massively large rectangles so they go underneath chilled food displays without adding much in the way of height and are unnoticeable with a little cloth over them. There is a pair so you can keep one in the coolbag or box and replace it after a couple of hours with the coolbag one.

Fantastically practical solution both for those selling items at market but also for buffet and party use. Very highly recommended.

I use freezer blocks when I’m travelling. The ones I had in the past have been bulky. This meant that I usually didn’t have them frozen when needed because they took up too much room. The thing I like about this one is I can slide it into a full freezer fairly easily, and it doesn’t take up too much room. The one I received is about the size and shape of a small bread board. Just make sure it also fits into your cool box or bag container.

Not much to be said about freeze blocks, they are filled with a liquid that freezes, come in various sizes and mainly blue, these ones are no different, quite slim they freeze and can keep things cool I have no complaints with these so it’s a five from me.

We use ice packs whenever we go to the park for a day out or are planning a picnic. Also handy to have when you’re out shopping for meat and keep it nice and fresh for longer until you get home and can put it in the fridge.
This set contains 2 ice packs and each holds 800ml. What I really like about these is how thin they are. They keep cool for a long time and are easy to stack up in the freezer when not in use. I think they are brilliant value for money, very happy with these.

    great ice blocks

This is COLD and I mean real cold. Froze it overnight and it was solid as expected but it retained cold for so long. I sprayed water on it and it froze on the surface in seconds as the video shows.

Perfect size to fit inside the bottom of my cool bag, super slim and hardly takes up any space or you could slip it in between your food items/drinks. Combine this with freezer blocks and have this on the base then you pretty much have a fridge to go. Very happy with this product and cheaper than branded version by far.

    SO COLD!!!! 😨

If you want to keep food and drinks cold without access to a fridge you will need a cool bag and freeze boards. This freeze board is filled with a special coolant that stays cold for longer than water, and will keep the items inside the cool bag at fridge temperature. In our experience the freeze board will help keep frozen food frozen for up 8 hours.

The weight of the boards can be a challenge when carrying a cool bag but these boards are slim and light. They don’t take up too much space in the bag. I have the biggest size which will go on the bottom of our cool bag – we will also need to use some around the sides for maximum cooling so thin and light is definately the way to go.

I received this item through the Amazon Vine programme.
This review is of the 2 x 400ml freezer boards.
These freezer boards are a non-standard size and very useful: if you use larger freezer bags these boards can be used top and bottom or front and back to provide a large area of cooling instead of slipping down to the bottom of the bag like smaller size blocks tend to do.
They are slim and hold a cold temperature well, though of course they are new and you would expect them to do that: how they perform over time is the real test and I haven’t had them long enough to comment on that yet.
Nice to see they are certified food-safe plastic.
Priced at 8.99 for two, assuming a good lifespan they are good value for money.
