Scent doesn’t last as long as I expected and the nozzle doesn’t spray easily but will keep using and trying!

This really does work, the spiders definately did not like it and appeared to have stayed away since. Regular sprays may have helped with that but it is worth it. Hopefully they dont get used to it.

This is a good value spider repellant, just spray where you usually see the pesky varmints and they soon move home.

They like to gather above my head in my bedroom, so it makes for an uneasy night’s sleep but no more, just a pleasant minty fragrance left behind.

It’s a little expensive for my taste, but it is effective! It got rid of my night time terrors!

Lovely strong peppermint smell, thought this will send them packing! 1st couple of days all good and then one by one they can back in! Not again!!! So I am afraid I used a proper pesticide spray! Job done!

This spray bottle arrived intact and well wrapped and sealed in a nylon bag, which is a good start.
A month ago I started spraying, once a week, around the doors and window. The smell is really strong and minty but it vanishes within few minutes, as I kept the doors open to ventilate the house.
I am hoping that the smell would stick enough to the doors frame to discourage spider from entering.
However, I haven’t seen more spiders since I started spraying but the ultimate test would be in September, when the activity of spiders reach the peak as they roam around looking for mates.

It’s a bit pricy but we always have to pay higher pricer for safe organic products….

    Super minty smell...

This spray is for those who wouldn’t hurt a fly, and would rather shoo away spiders rather than kill them. Therefore this spray is a deterrent as spiders don’t like mint although it’s debatable as I once found cobwebs over my mint garden.

The spray is a good size, and comes in a bag in case of leaks, but luckily there were none.

I’ve sprayed it all around the external door frames and windows and it seems to work, but time will tell.

I love the smell of this spider repellent. It is a strong Peppermint when first sprayed but the fragrance is gone by the next day. Whether spiders can still smell it, I don’t know. So far, I have used it after killing False Widow spiders in my sun-lounge to try to deter their return. I have used it in all their favourite corners after vacuuming away any cobwebs. You are advised to re-spray every week, which seems excessive. I have to get up on top of a ladder to spray it and can’t see myself doing it weekly. I’ll be more inclined to wait until I see spiders, deal with them and then spray it to keep them away. In the Summer months, they come in on a daily basis usually, and I have a constant battle with them. So far, no more have returned but the season is just starting. I’ll update this review when I have more evidence.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThe huge arachnid living in my window frame has moved on, thanks to this spray. For years I have lived entrapped, fearful of opening the window in case he scuttled in to jump on my face whilst I slept. However, covid required some ventilation and the second the window cracked, he did his best Mo Farah impression towards the inside world. Having slammed the window shut, this fine product arrived the very next day and he hasn’t been seen since. It smells pleasant, too.

Sadly, it didn’t work so well on the gravel area in front of my door. Home to a small battalion (ok 12 spiders) two resprays of this wasn’t sufficient. However, the other half (no longer avoiding me for fear of contracting the plague) discouraged them more vigorously to leave -with his mighty cardboard discouraging advice- and the spiders have not been seen since. It’s day 28, we’ve had heavy rain, hail, snow and wind and yet my eight legged nemesis’ have found somewhere else to terrorise (or live happily ever after if you prefer). They are gone from here. If this liquid had a voice, it would be Gandalf’s “You shall not pass!”

My daughters are petrified of spiders to the point if they see one it sounds like someone is trying to murder them
We’ve recently had a few spiders in the house due to the rain and I normally do the glass and cars trick and pop them back outside.
I’ve been using this are the windows and we haven’t had any spider since but then again it hasn’t rained either.
Smells amazing and gives the kids a little piece of mind that using this is keeping them away

After cleaning the spider webs, it can be protected from spiders for a long time by squeezing 1-2 puffs together.
In addition, the scent is very pleasant.
It does not leave any stains on wall corners and furniture after it is tightened.
The clamping device provides a comfortable use.
I recommend it to those who want to clean their house from spiders.

A new way to protect your home

I have just started to use this product. My daughter sprayed it near a spider that was crawling near the skirting boards and we haven’t seen it since. Have sprayed it round my daughters bedroom window but don’t know what the outcome will be as it’s early days yet. Good smell of peppermint from it.

I have received this as apart of the Amazon Vine programme. This spray bottle to keep spiders away seems to be working, I know they hate the smell of mint, why I have never got this before I don’t know. The smell is very strong, don’t need to use alot of it. Easy to use, I have sprayed it everywhere there is a hole, gap or space in my house. Haven’t seen a spider since spraying.

I hate spiders, they terrify me when they run towards me, I don’t even want to get close enough to one to remove it from the room, so anything I can use to deter them is okay with me. When I saw the bottle of EFA International Peppermint Spider Pest Spray I couldn’t wait to try it but since then I haven’t caught a glimpse of a single spider. But I’m prepared with the bottle in my hand waiting to pounce on an unsuspecting spider. However, after reading other reviews, I have tried it on an infected plant that other insect/mite repellents don’t work on and so far the results appear to be positive. This formula is a humane way to deal with pests, it can be used indoors or in the garden and the packaging is recyclable so I’m happy to recommend it.

    For use indoors and outdoors!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have heard (from friends) that spiders can be effectively deterred from a room by simply spraying the affected area with a water/peppermint oil solution. I consider spiders my friend though, so I just carefully remove them by hand and take them outdoors – that is, whenever my wife goes into a frenzy each time she sees one.
However, I recently had a tidy up in our garage, and saw evidence of mice (droppings in various areas). Despite clearing any potential nesting areas, brushing, vacuuming, and even mopping with bleach and hot water – the little rodents still returned! My theory is that they’re eating the fallen bird seed from next doors feeders, then using my garage as a convenient shelter (the neighbours don’t have a garage or shed). Not wishing to lay traps or poison, my research led me to the use of peppermint oil as a natural, cruelty-free mouse/rat deterrent. Anyway, after spraying the affected areas with PestSpray the mice have finally disappeared. I must add that I did make a point of using the product daily for several more days – just to make sure. So, as far as my experience goes this is a worthy deterrent – for mice! Given its ease of use, the positive results I achieved, and it’s reasonable price tag, I have no hesitation in recommending this product.

I used this to deter mice! 🐁🐭

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI am really not a fan of spiders and we tend to get quite a lot in the house (I’m sure they know they are not liked), I also like to keep the bedroom window open at night, so that makes it even easier for them to get in, so I thought I would give this spider repellent spray a try.

You get a standard 750ml sized trigger spray bottle that contains a peppermint oil based mixture, which is said to not harm either the spiders or the environment.

I have sprayed some of the solution around the bedroom window frame, both inside and out. The product initially has quite a strong peppermint smell to it, but I found that it disappeared pretty fast (maybe due to the window being open).

It is hard to tell whether the product is actually working or not, but I have high hopes that this will help solve my spider problem and I will update the review after I’ve been using it for a longer period of time.

I have found that the spray leaves a bit of a residue on the window frame, although I will happily take that over the spiders.

I think the price seems a little on the steep side for what you get, especially as there isn’t any special chemicals inside, but time will tell whether it is really worth the cost.

This is based on natural ingredients & as far as I can tell looking at the ingredients, it’s very natural.
I’m allergic to toxins & prefer using natural products & didn’t irritate as I often get with chemicals & toxins in household cleaning products.
It’s based natural peppermint essential oil & has a string scent which is vital if you want it to work.
I’m using it to deter squirrels (they’re supposed to not like the scent) but can’t tell yet if sprayed outside how long it’ll last or how often I need to reapply (eg. when it rains etc). So will update after use.
Nozzle is very good; sprays powerfully & evenly.
I am quite impressed with this product as it’s humane, natural, eco, non-toxic & strong.

PS. I have 100% natural peppermint essential oil & have tried to make my own but doesn’t quite mix well with water &/or is not strong enough.

I finally had a chance to test this spider spray last night, as one hairy spider managed to climb our stairs. My husband sprayed a bit around it, and the spider ran away through the same gap under the door he crawled through, we haven’t seen this spider again. So its effective and humane and the peppermint smell is fine.
This spray will be essential around September-october, as that time of the year we usually got a siege of the spiders in our household. At least now we know this does its job well and we’ll make sure to apply this spray in the areas under the doors. This would solve the issue.

    It works!!!!

Now, I don’t mind spiders, so I can’t attest to this product’s efficacy, but I can attest to its effect on spider mites! A number of house plant YouTubers have recommended peppermint spray (homemade or commercial) in the fight against pests such as mealy bugs, so I was interested to try this spray on some spider relatives.

Like most house plant enthusiasts, I have had to deal with pest invasions of many kinds, but mealy bugs are, for me the worst. Using alcohol on a swab to kill the individual bugs on the plants is effective but incredibly time consuming (and don’t even get me thinking about root mealy bug!). The end of winter is one of the worst periods of pest infestation. The plants have had little or no fresh air and less sunlight and have had to deal with central heating. The combination of poor air circulation and winter heating are ideal conditions for spider mites, thrips and aphids. I am currently dealing with aphids on a schefflera and spider mites on a cussonia. The infestation is on old leaves of the schefflera but on new leaves of the cussonia, so different pests and different leaves to test this peppermint spray’s effectiveness. My first step in pest control is to take the plants to the shower and give the leaves a gentle jet of water. I then did a light peppermint spray test on one leaf of each of the plants; I was especially concerned about spraying the new leaf of the cussonia. I let the spray settle and do its work for four days, noticing no leaf damage, and then repeated the process twice with a heavier spray. Being peppermint spray it certainly makes the room smell lovely for a couple of days after spraying; it’s certainly not offensive or overwhelming. Okay, it smells nice, but is it effective? For spider mite, the combination of shower spray and the peppermint did really knock them back. The new leaves weren’t any more damaged by the peppermint than by the horribly curling caused by the mites. The attack on the aphids on the schefflera was a little less successful, but it did have some effect on the number of the pestsI will continue the attack. I usually use diluted neem oil for organic pest control, and it is somewhat effective against mites and aphids but the stench of garlic/onion after applying the spray is pretty badand I love onions and garlic! I have tried the peppermint spray on a small mealy bug infestation, and it seems to be less effective than neem oil. The neem oil will normally kill them on contact, but the peppermint spray appears to take longer to kill them, at least on the plant I used for the comparison (a homalomena).

I will also comment on reviewers’ remarks on the spray’s efficacy in repelling mice. We have an outdoor mice and rat problems, and I can state that neither the mice nor the rats are the least bit bothered by the strong peppermint odour of the spray.

In summary, the spray does work, but it works best in conjunction with good sprays of water and peppermint once a week for a period time. Houseplant pests are a constant irritant and battle, especially if have more than a few plants. No one solution will work for all plants, so this peppermint spray is a useful addition to the artillery required to do battle. The advertising combining spider repellant and room freshener/scent is bit odd, but who knows there’s probably a market for it.

This spray has a very minty smell and the spray is easy to use. I’ve used it to clean the skirting boards around the house and it makes the rooms smell minty fresh. It’s really difficult to say if it works as a pest repellent as you can never really know they are there until you see them. But I’ve also used this in the shed and around the boundaries of the garden to deter ‘visitors’ and am hopeful that it will have some effect. This is a very light handed method of getting rid of pests which may or may not work but is surely worth ago.

This bottle comes with the spray head attached and in a plastic bag. I’d rather a sealed bottle and separate spray head, as there’s always the chance for a leak when delivered like this. The smell of peppermint when you open it is so strong it may have already leaked a little anyhow.

It’s a clear liquid that really has a very strong smell of peppermint. It’s quite nice, but appears to deter spiders from my limited testing. Usual precautions about getting on your skin or in your eyes.

Doesn’t seem to stain and lasts a long while. They recommend to repeat regularly though, probably around doors and windows where spiders may get in.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI’m so happy to have found this EFA brand and this peppermint spider repellant spray. Firstly, finding humane and eco friendly solutions to problems is very important to me. Secondly, we need our spiders – we’d just rather not have them in the house! And thirdly, the smell is just wonderful! I’m so used to the artificial scents of many household products, and I hate them. When you spray this bottle, the scent of pure natural peppermint is just lovely! It is the second ingredient in the ingredients list, not something you find in most products. I feel like I’m sitting with a mug of peppermint tea beside me. As I love peppermint, that is a huge bonus for me.

We often have a lot of spiders in our living room, and I haven’t seen any since trying out this spray. Though this is definitely not the best time of year to put the spray to the test, as it’s not invasion-time yet. My understanding is that other household pests (moths, mice, flies, mosquitos etc) don’t like peppermint either. And though that’s not even mentioned on the advertising, I think I may find that it has an effect on these too. I will update this review if I find it does not work as expected.

The manufacturers, EFA, are a small UK company who seem to care about the quality and effectiveness of their products. If you watch their video you’ll see how to use the spray, it’s very simple. I find that you need to press the trigger firmly to get a good spray. The spray arc is fairly wide, rather than a forward directed jet, which I quite like as it’s diffuse. If I wanted to direct it onto/into precise areas, I think I’d pour some of the liquid into a little travel spray bottle to use. Very easy to do.

The bottle is 750ml (and A4 height, if that helps anyone for storage purposes) and a little of the spray goes a long way, which means it seems to last ages. So although the price is (currently) 10.99, it feels a fair price. I would pay more for such a versatile, eco friendly, humane (and good smelling!) product. I’ll certainly be buying more when it runs out, assuming it keeps doing the trick.

Smells wonderful! Humanely repels spiders - and more.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI really like the smell of this spray but know spiders and other insects don’t like it. This is a kind way to deter spiders from your home, we spray around our home and inside the loft regularly. It’s not an instant remedy but it repels other insects too. The spray bottle is ideally shaped and has a sturdy spray, my only complaint is the spray arc is too wide and powerful it needs a narrower spray so it doesn’t end up all over you. We ended up putting it in another spray bottle. It’s less cost effective than making your own solution with essential oils, but it is more convenient.

We regularly use peppermint and citronella around our doors and windows, it works well but does need doing regularly. As we live near a nature reserve we have a big problem with mosquitoes and spiders. It was normal to see large spiders daily after we moved here. As my son and I are asthmatic we couldn’t keep using chemical pesticides. We discovered spiders hate the smell of certain essential oils so they are useful when used as a deterrent. You do need to vacuum everywhere a spider could have laid eggs as well, especially behind radiators and in light fittings (where we found the most) but citronella and peppermint oils seem to work well to deter more.

Spiders hate it but nice smell for humans!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI use peppermint to keep the mice away..they HATE the smell. I spray it around the floorboards and in the air vents and they don’t come anywhere near the house. I also spray it near the bins and around my car to keep them away. As it smells so nice I actually spray it inside my car too, as mice like to chew their way in, so I ensures I have this spray outside, and inside my car, and it also just makes the car smell lovely and fresh.

I was very interested in this UK based company’s product and of course it’s harmless to animals and the environment it just uses the lovely smell of peppermint to make insects and rodents do a handbrake turn when they’re running toward our property.

This product smells lovely. It’s not too strong but enough so you know it’s there, it’s actually very refreshing. And certainly keeps the rodents away. I can definitely recommend it for any rodent issues you have or want to get ahead of.

The spray came in 0.75l bottle. Its been packed in a bag just in case of the leaks but it didn’t leak at all.
It’s not a spider season yet so can’t really try effectiveness of this peppermint spray. Can’t see any cobwebs around the house as it’s cleaned in regular basis. As soon we start open windows during warm days, spiders will start appear.. Before that, I’ll use this spray around windows and doors so this will keepnet away hopefully. The procedure needs to be repeated once a qeek as the fragrance gets weaker with time. I think it’s still worth to try.. My daughter hates spiders so I have high hopes that this peppermint oil will repeal spiders.

    Smells nice.

We have a tiny mouse in the house and it was seen last night escaping from the kitchen table.

I have heard that peppermint oil can deter mice because it makes it more difficult for them to follow the urine pheromone trails that they leave and use to find their way around.

So I have just cleaned the oilcloth table with this spray. Thumbs up from us on the smell – which is of the very natural peppermint oil which is the second ingredient. This is a large bottle and a little goes a long way – so five stars from us.
