Lightweight , folds flat , strong durable carry bag , perfect for camping cooks , good size (holds a pan comfortably) don’t forget when you slot this together to put the air hole sides on opposite sides to each other however if you want a slower burn then position both on the same 2 sides and rotate according to wind , the heat this generates is very good and suitable to just use as a fire pit which then gives a more manageable contained fire you can easily put out quickly if needs be

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant camping essential

folds up really small and flat, great little pouch. holds up really well in the wind, has a good sized hole to put wood in without removing the grill, but still blocks enough wind that the fire doesn’t go out. The grill top is holding up well. Took this camping and cooked every meal on it. 6/5 stars

Use this each time I go wild camping, just got back from a weekend in Scotland and used it from the moment I got there. It was burning all weekend and withstood a lot of abuse. Would recommend to everyone

Overall the product seems very solid. However it does warp with the heat and one of the side for the bottom plat slides out of the supporting slot. This could be resolved by simply adjusting where the extra material is on the bottom plate.

I personally would also not mind a heavier gauge version to prevent warping in general.

I own several Fire Maple outdoor products and had some temporary issues with this particular one, but the company immediately contacted me, fixed the issue and even asked how to make them better in the future.

This amount of customer service and product dedication has definitely earned my trust, respect and loyalty.

The price and quality has made it so that their gear will always be a part of my Alaskan adventures, and has also earned itself a permanent place in my overland rig.

Clever design means this packs down flat and takes up minimal space, when built it is sturdy and solid and I’m confident it’s safe to use. The grill rests on top so moves easily and is the only negative as I imagine cooking on it would be difficult if any thing stuck to it.. I may make some wire clips to hold the grill in position which I think would solve this. Overall though I’m impressed with this and would recommend it as a travel/camping fire pit that can be used for cooking with care.

Well made, lightweight. Seems a bit fiddly, may be more difficult in cold weather- but overall good item

Good; well designed; you could use this to boil water or cook over.

Simple to build, it forms a stable fireplace, with access from one side to add more firewood, and the top if you’ve nothing on it.

Folded down it slips into an included high density nylon case, handy because the stove tends to get covered in soot and ash.

It’s made of stainless steel, so corrosion isn’t an issue – mines been sat in my garden for the last 10 days with no issues.

The key to a successful fire is to build suitably large pile of dry wood cut/snapped it to the right length.

Assemble the stove but don’t put the top pan support on yet.

Pop your kindling in and get the fire going, progressively add larger bits of wood. It will smoke at first, but once it gets going (assuming you’re using dry wood) it will burn hot enough that it stops smoking. pop the pan support on, trying not to get burned, and you’re good to go.

It’s not lightweight (662g) nor small, particularly when compared to gas or meths stove options; I wouldn’t use it for backpacking. However, for bushcraft or just a pleasant alternative back at camp, it’s a nice alternative.

    Stable, simple, robust and effective.

This is pretty light and easy to put together.
At just over 600g and few cm think when folded, this can be easily stored away or carry around in a backpack.
This is not only for camping. Might use it along side with the BBQ, to have some hot tea or simply pan fry some meat or veg.
The stainless steel plates are quite strong, and no shape edges, but I would still use gloves to assemble/dismantle it.
Good price @ 25 with voucher.

    Light, thin and stable.

On first assembling this little firepit/stove you’ll probably think it too flimsy to be of any real use. It consists of three panels that clip together, and a smaller panel that slips into place for the base. I had some confusion at first as mine refused to go together, but I had one panel with a critical slot missing. On contacting Firemaple they had a replacement out immediately which was excellent service. Once you’ve put it all together there is a pot stand that cilps on to the top which also helps support the sides, so don’t be tempted to leave that off. It’s very stable once assembled and there was no feeling that it was going to collapse. As you can see from my video it comfortably supports a 1 litre pot full of water, and I have no doubt it can support more.

The base is an inch or so off the ground and has large holes in, and the side panels have small slots as well so once you get a fire going it draws tremendously well. A pile of small sticks is all you need to really get a blazing fire going but don’t undererstimate how much you will use as it burns through very quickly. One panel has a larger hole so you can feed more fuel in as you need it. I tested this one quite a windy day and it worked beatitfully well. The slot does mean though that hot embers and sparks will escape so don’t even think about using this somewhere where their might be a risk of starting a major fire. Basically, don’t use this anywhere you wouldn’t have an open fire. The ground underneath will get hot too, but I had no issues with scorching.

The fuel burns so quickly that once you’re done cooking the fire will go out pretty quickly. A douse of water is all thats needed to cool everything down, so you won’t be waiting hours before you can pack it up. It all slots into a envelope that looks to be a heat resistant material so your kit will stay clean and it won’t hurt too much if its still a bit warm.

It’s perfect for a brew up on the beach or if you’re really going out into the wilds then it’s a great bit of kit as there is no need to carry gas or fuel you can really go ultra light. It’s such a simple thing that there is no risk of it breaking or going wrong, and it sets up and packs down in no time. It’s also pretty nice for sitting in the garden on a summers evening!

Flat and easy to carry. Comes in a sturdy carrying bag. Doesn’t take up space on storage. Very easy to assemble. Just the right size for a pot. Good value.

An excellent little gadget for camping, Bushcraft, wild camping , it’s a flat pack wood burning stove that slots together in seconds, there are handy instructions sewn inside the carry case but it’s very straightforward, you can’t go wrong really.

You also get a pot stand so you can cook with a variety of different pans , sauce pans and frying pans are both fine to use on this stove.

It comes flat-packed in a neat little case , it’s lightweight and takes up no room in your pack, I just slide it into the back of my rucksack, you don’t know it’d there.

You can get a little fire going in this wood burning stove , it acts as a small firepit and keeps the fire safer , especially in forests , once the wood has burned down and you have some decent embers and a small flame you can put the pot stand on and boil yourself a brew or cook yourself a nice meal in no time at all.

Firemaple do some excellent camping equipment, I’m a fan of their products and this is no different, it’s good quality stainless steel , its well cut , no sharp or rough edges , the metal is quite thick but still not too heavy , it shouldn’t warp easily.

For the pice I think it’s a good option for a camping wood stove , it’s quite spacious, it has a hole for feeding in more kindling too once you start cooking.

I really like it , a good bit of kit for camping and bushcraf

East to assemble, good pot stand , well made wood stove 🔥

I was really surprised at how small this fire pit is.

It comes in a small sleeve which has the waterproof instructions attached so you’ll never lose them.

There are 5 pieces all together made out of a good quality strong metal, it very simply slides together, starting with the three sides, the base and then the cooking stand.

I found it very easy to get the fire starting and maintaining it through the hole in the side.

Cleanup is nice and simple and once it has cooled down it folds down and stores away anywhere without taking up any room.

    Fantastic little pop up fire

Easy to assemble and takes very little room in the backpack. I always have a gas burner with me when I am out and I take a stick stove to use too so that I am making the most of my natural resources but the stick stove I normally use does not allow for much flame and then I end up missing the most important part of a fire which is the soul-warming part.

This little fire pit is not huge but you do get to enjoy a decent size flame which means you can have a fire safely and at the same time get enough heat to warm you up and make you smile as you crack a few beers and watch the night fade away before bed.

Well made and a great addition to the backpack.

it comes flat packed in a sturdy storage pouch, it is lightweight and perfect for putting in a hiking bag without creating lots of weight or taking up much space. It is quick and easy to put together and nice and sturdy when built, perfect for a days hiking

The first burn made it patina very nicely and its big enough to have a full fire and small enough I’ve made it a permanent part of my backpack for hiking and fishing/hunting

I was really surprised how lightweight and compact this Fire-Maple Maverick camping stove is. It’s very portable, great for throwing in the car and doesn’t take up any space, it’s very flatpacked when it arrives and folds away after use.
This is Avery attractive looking design, it’s easy to fit together and let’s off good heat once your fire is established. Very versatile, you can use this for camping or as a firepit. Recommended

Easy to slot together but very sturdy. It does require quite small pieces of wood, so take a pair of secateurs wih you. It does get very hot quite quickly, and I bought a kettle for use with it. It boiled quite quickly and I was able to make tea.
One side has a large gap to keep the fire fed with fresh wood.

    Very practical

I have used the firemaple maverick wood stove to do some sausages in a pan, I find that the stove gives good wind protection and gives off a powerful amount of heat once you establish a fire.
Assembly is really easy and can be done in under 30 seconds once you know what to do.
The stainless steel will discolor with use but is thick and I feel unlikely to rust.
you get a nylon storage pouch to keep everything together flat packed.
I really like this product however at 617 grams this may be something to pack for a weekend camp rather than a day hike.
another quality product from Fire maple!

Fire-Maple Maverick Camping Wood Stove Portable Firepit Wood

I did have an initial problem with my original order where one of the walls of the firepit had not been machined correctly. As soon as the seller became aware of my problem they contacted me and are now in the process of sending a replacement. As such I have now edited my review to reflect this fast and excellent customer service.

My son has recently become interested in survival techniques and camping, so this little stove will be ideal for his new hobby. The stove is supplied as a flat pack that is stored in a tough little bag. When the stove is required, just clip the 3 sides together, slide in the base plate, then secure by placing the top frame in place. The whole assembly process takes less than 1 minute.

The stove consists of 5 parts which are made from stainless steel so it will not corrode over time. Stainless steel is far better than galvanised or plated metal as the plating can burn off over time then rust, there is no such problems with stainless steel. The 3 side panels are similar in shape, although one has a large hole for adding fuel to the fire by way of small branches and twigs. The 3 sides slide into each other where they locate into pre-cut slots, once the walls are in place the base just slides in and a metal frame sits on top to take a kettle or small pan. The metal sides are finished well with no sharp or jagged edges which is often overlooked on thin metal like this. The issue I had with my initial order was that an important slot was missed during the manufacturing process, the result of this was that one side would not clip in correctly. This is now in the process of being corrected by the seller.

Overall, this is well made, once assembled it will provide a stable firepit to house a single kettle or pan. I would also like to add a side note to the seller – thank you for the excellent customer support.

    Fire-Maple Maverick Camping Wood Stove.
This is despite mine having a slight fault a cracking little gadget quick and easy to assemble as well as being relatively lightweight.
Comes with a fantastic quality pouch and stainless steel cooking triangle.
A must have for thoes who love to cook outdoors or thoes who like to stay warm with a small fire when camping.
Mine sadly wouldnt connect together on the last join no matter how i went about putting it together but this didn’t seem to impede the product it still held strong and was nice and sturdy.

Mine seems to be slightly faulty.
