These Fortress Boxing Gloves are total overkill for the occasional boxing workouts I do but it’s a pleasure to own something this well made. They’re really well sewn together with everything neat and secure and the leather seems of excellent quality that should last for ages. You can pay a lot less for boxing gloves but the synthetic leather ones are really prone to splitting along the seams, so leather wins for longevity.
The long wrist guard felt a bit limiting at first but now I prefer it, for someone like me that doesn’t have the technique of an amateur or pro boxer any support is appreciated to prevent injury. The hook & loop straps are one-man friendly too so handy for solo workouts although these are sparring gloves really. There’s nothing much I can fault these for, they fit me well with room for wraps and I have huge hands so that’s not a given. The price might make you think twice but the quality won’t.
These are fantastic boxing gloves. If you are looking for a quality pair of gloves that will provide comfort and performance, then these are perfect. For those of you that have invested in a proper pair of boxing gloves, you will know that they are not cheap, so I feel the price point for these is about right in my opinion.
The gloves have a wow factor from the moment you open them, they have the striking design you love to see with boxing gloves, the stitching is perfect with no flaws and has been carefully crafted. The comfort of the gloves is ideal for me, it has the right level of cushion and support for me personally.
Really happy with these and feel they are worth the investment.
Stylish and comfortable boxing gloves. They will last a while and are really well made.
Fortress Boxing Gloves.
I was really impressed with the quality. The fit and support is excellent, and is better than similar priced gloves. I have really put the gloves through their paces. I there’s no sign of deterioration from the glovers whatsoever.
I have these unisex Fortress boxing gloves in 16oz in white with gold pattern.
They look and feel well made and of a premium quality.
I like their design and colour combination.
They are made from a decent quality genuine cowhide leather which feels sturdy and durable and have latex padding.
These gloves would be perfect for sparring, punching etc.
They provide great protection, wrist support and are perfect shock absorbers.
They are easy to put on /take off.
I feel that they perform much better than my old pair which is made from PU leather, so the high price is justified.
Excellent quality and design, provide great protection and support, so I would happily recommend these gloves.
Some gloves don’t stand up well to a lot of training, But these are made with excellent quality leather, So it won’t wear out as easily as synthetic gloves. I like that these gloves fit most arm/hand sizes, As these can fit both my medium hands and my partner’s XL hands.
The weight of the gloves are surprisingly light, With enough weight to give a good punch weather it is upper or lower cut or jabbing. The hook and loop keep it securely in place without falling off.
I could not find any negatives with these boxing gloves, They are designed for a good fight and do a good job when training.
Loving my new gloves. Used a few times now and seem to be ok. Comfort is great, nice and tight with good cushioning for the knuckles. The wrist support is good with over the over the top velcro strap. Design is lovely, striking white and gold with a simple logo embossed. The only complaint is that the package is only plastic packaging, if not perfect as a gift.
Good quality training gloves. They offer good protection to the wrists and hands. White and gold colours are very well matched.
You can choose different weights and mixtures according to the use you have to make of them.
The materials are of a good standard and I am satisfied with the produc
I took these gloves to a professional boxing club and asked their opinion. They were very impressed with them so after reiterating the importance of getting the right size and taping your hands up first they said the quality was excellent and that they were comfortable to wear. They look expensive and definitely have the wow factor. So going on a champion boxers opinion I’m definitely very happy to recommend and I hope I’ve helped
I got 2 pairs of these for my brothers as a gift. These gloves are really good quality. It’s made out Leather & Soft Latex Padding material. Safer to use and protect your hands. Would recommend. So worth the money
I have quite a controversial reason for ordering these, my daughter has severe anger management issues caused by poor mental health after issues at school.
I previously bought my girls a punching bag to help learn how to throw a punch if they ever needed to defend themselves and the punching bag helped teach the two of them how to angle their hands, wrists and position themselves. When they get going using the punch bag, they can end up with sore knuckles from time to time so I decided to get these boxing gloves so that both can practice against a moving target(me) as well as the bag without damaging knuckles. This has so far gone ok except for one hit where I wasn’t able to block or dodge fast enough due to lack of attention so I took one to the nose!
The gloves have a good fit, 12oz Velcro fit for my older daughter (15) and 10oz lace up for my 13 year old.
Although many would say violence isn’t ever the answer, I would agree with you but it’s always good to teach your kids how to defend themselves should they get into a bad situation. Just as with any other type of fighting/self defence, it’s been constantly made a rule that they are to give three chances before fighting back and to not do so out of rage plus knowing when enough is enough.
Overall the boxing gloves are a nice colour set that both girls like, they are definitely a more premium set that tick all the boxes for low skilled boxers and people attempting to learn for the first time.
This set – Velcro 12oz have very secure fasteners and nicely support the wrists. The Velcro is easy to wrap and undo, when you get the hang of grabbing something with them both on!
I’m reviewing the 14oz gloves which I find are a good all rounder but personally a good size for the heavy bag work I only use. I have 8.5″ circumference hands and the gloves are a good size allowing wraps if needed. The all leather gloves are nicely stitched no obvious issues, but yet to be fully bedded in. The latex padding has good give and not over firm as I’ve found on some gloves tried. They seem well balanced and have a narrower profile than my old gloves.
These gloves have the additional super strap giving a total strap width when combining the two of 4.5 inches. The extra strap is claimed to provide additional wrist support to help reduce wrist injuries. On flexing compared to my old gloves it does do this, you still have some flex around the wrist and you can push the wrist back with the strap tight but its not as flexible as other gloves I’ve tried. Time will tell if this remains the case when they’ve had more wear. Overall the gloves appear well made, comfortable to wear, they are just expensive, which is acceptable if they last longer than most but its too early to say if this is the case.
The boxing gloves I bought in the early days were corded, but I have to say that Velcro gloves are definitely more convenient. In the past, we needed a coach to help tie the rope or take off the glove, but because there are more and more boxing practitioners now, they can pick up the target from each other in the boxing gym. Sometimes the glove with the rope is really troublesome.
However, although the Velcro model is easy to wear, it is better to use the rope-tied glove in terms of wrist protection.
This glove is a rope style, but a thinner Velcro is sewn on the wrist, which further strengthens the protection of the wrist. It’s just the same, there’s a lack of flexibility in the wrist.
Unique velcro design on the wrist, long wrist design, more protection for the wrist. Super soft inner fabric. High-quality memory foam filling and 3D shock-resistant filling material.
I feel that this glove is very soft, and the fabric inside is also very soft, but after wearing the glove, you can’t easily open your palm, you can slap and intercept the opponent’s fist with your palm very easily. In terms of comfort I think this glove is perfect.
Because the wrist of the glove is longer, with the design of the wrist Velcro, double locking, you can safely and boldly exert force.
But the cost is too high, I give it 4 stars.
Excellent leather boxing gloves from Fortress brand, they are SS2.0 with hook and loop fastenings around the wrist, with wide adjustable wrist supports and thick padding where it’s needed. They are very well stitched and look impressively expensive. They are comfortable to wear and feel reasonably lightweight on. My son has started boxing at the gym and they fit his average sized hands well, they are good on mine too (an average female size hands). I’m very happy to recommend these, they’re a quality pair of leather boxing gloves that are perfectly designed for sparring and punching.
