Got this for my mum, it is ideal for her as she is only 5ft tall, only down side is the monitor eats batteries, when used daily batteries needed changing/charging every week
Great exercise machine. Smooth, quiet action and comfortable to use. Seems very well made. Get’s the heart rate up, which is what it’s meant to do. Very easy to assemble. Only criticism is that the maximum saddle height would not suit someone with more than a 30 inch inside leg measurement. I’m 28 and I have it on the maximum height adjustment.
Really like this bike. It was very simple to put together. Just about the right fit for me being 5ft 11.
Easy to build. 1st exercise bike owned and really pleased with it , even the wife had ago yesterday and thought it was a good buy.
Sturdy bike, easy to use and change settings. Had a problem with right pedal making a noise, contacted company direct who replaced pedal with no problems.
Compact exercise bike, easily assembled and is sturdy.
Good price too.
The first one of these we ordered for my wife got lost in transit — so once Amazon had issued a full refund (promptly and courteously), we attempted to re-order and paid for express delivery. Unfortunately that took over a week, and courier couldn’t actually deliver on the scheduled day so we had to wait another 24 hours before we received the item.
The bike itself comes in a surprisingly small (and not too heavy package). The assembly instructions were straightforward, although some of the bolts and washers were already in-situ whilst other components were supplied loose — which meant checking everything was there was a little more onerous than it might have been. The only tricky part was hooking on to the tension cable, but another reviewer had already flagged that so we knew what to expect.
My wife loves the bike — but is an exercise newbie rather than a gym-bunny. It’s compact, and extremely quiet, which means she can happily peddle away in the corner of the room whilst the rest of us slob around in front of the telly. The LCD display is adequate, and cycles through a variety of information (time, distance, speed, calories, odometer, pulse) — and you can set targets to achieve in your session if you want. I don’t know how accurate the readings are, but we’re measuring performance on the basis of how flushed/hot/knackered she feels at the end of a workout.
My wife and daughter are 5’5″ whilst my youngest son and I are 5’10” and the size is fine for all of us — but we’re only allowed a go on it when my wife has finished(!). It seems study and stable, and there’s more than enough resistance levels for gentle-ish exercise and beginners like us. It’s not meant to be a studio spin-bike, and the manufacturers say users should not stand up to peddle. My wife finds the saddle (which is wide and padded) a little too firm, so we’ve just ordered a separate gel cover to see if that’ll make a difference. Overall this bike has more than met our expectations, and we’re very pleased with it.
I needed to replace my previous exercise bike and this one fits the bill. It was fairly easy to assemble (clear instructions) and easy to move around. It feels reasonably sturdy and does not move when peddling hard. When this one finally wears out (not soon I hope!) I would happily replace it with the same model if available. One very minor irritation is that the rubber base on the pedals has ridges which are uncomfortable if you use the bike barefooted. I wear lightweight slip on slippers to overcome this.
This model is relatively light to move but stable in use. It is compact but big enough to be used comfortably by average men or women. It has all the functions needed for a home exercise machine. I had the previous model and bought this one for my daughter based on my positive experience with my own.
Bought this before last lockdown to add to home gym. I’ve used it a lot in last few months and it’s a good bike and not expensive compared to some I’ve looked at. Would Definately recommend.
A good quality exercise bike. Easy to assemble and sturdy. Good choice.
Perfect for both me & my husband. Reasonably priced easy to assemble & sturdy. Looking forward to doing many more miles
Very sturdy, feels firm to mount/dismount as well as when riding. Easy to set up, all the electronics worked straight out of the box. Feels smooth and silent in use. Solidly well-made.
Very happy with my bike, i am doing 1 hour exercise every day, it’s easy to assemble, sturdiness and manoeuvrability.
A really good price
This is a really good purchase. Other bikes I have tried have been too difficult to access on and off as I am only 4′ 9″ and have arthritis. This bike had plenty of room, a comfortable seat and plenty of adjustment. There is also a lovely space between the seat and the handlebars to manoeuvre myself around. It has clear, easy to use measurements too re- speed, time, distance etc., it is very stable and does not tip. This is a really good piece of kit and it does not take much room up either. Brilliant price.
Very easy to assemble and we are useless at that excellent value for money does not give the same workout as the gym so you need to have it on the highest tension for a reasonable workout but we are very happy it’s been a godsend during lockdow
Needed the addition of you tube to help to assemble but managed perfectly.
This bike feels really sturdy, not too heavy to move around.
Assembly was easy but requires 2 people.
Excellent for the price. Compact and has all the features we need. Not for the enthusiast but great for straightforward exercise.
I love the fact I can go for a cycle and read a book at the same time!
Lockdown exercise for brain and brawn!
It’s not too big and not too heavy to move, quite stable. The downside of it is the seat isn’t the most comfortable. I tried to use a cushion on it during use. Still, after 5 years, still works just fine.
Brilliant bike, easy to use and worth the price. Highly recommended
The bike arrived when expected, it was very well packaged and in perfect condition.
I like to cycle upstairs in our spare room where the space is tight. This bike fits my needs perfectly. It gives all the usual readings on the screen. No joke, it is silent! I can cycle anytime of day and not disturb anyone. It is solid and comfortable.
I would highly recommend
Good bike, don’t think it would suite someone at 6 feet tall but it definitely is good for me only down side is the saddle doesn’t go any higher.
It is compact easy to use and very sturdy for a little machine. Excelle
We bought this bike to get more exercise during lockdown. Easy to assemble with settings from easy to difficult it has proved a godsend to two TV-watching addicts.
I’m no DIY expert but managed to put it up in 30-45 minutes. Easy to assemble. Found a video on YouTube which helped massively. Sturdy and lightweight. Great addition to our living room to help my mum with her mobility.
fairly easy to build and pretty stable although one part was missing.
the supplier sent a new one out without delay or questio
The bike came much earlier than the expected delivery date which was nice , it was relatively easy to put together but needed a little brute force towards the end as hooking the last bit of wire was tricky
The bike is good for beginners/intermediate. It doesnt go up to a very strong resistance like a spin bike . But its good for general cardio purposes and getting the heart rate up
The first delivery had a slightly faulty base and the supplier promptly sent a replacement. I took the advice from other buyers to download the video from JLL website which help a lot in assembling the bike by myself. It took about 20 minutes and it was not hard as I could watch the video a few times for the tricky bits. It is easy to move the bike though that also means it may not seem to be as sturdy as you may want. The resistance levels provide different workout rate as you want and level 8-10 would likely push your heart rate to over 140 even if you’re fit enough. It may be more for an average built person and tall persons over 6′ with long legs may want to ask for the leg to handle measurement to assess. Overall very happy with the bike after using it by 3 people over 6 weeks.
‘Easy’ to assemble if you set aside an hour or so and agree with yourself to go patiently through each step. If you do, it’ll all come together, but it’s not a rapid building job. However, having read some other very useful reviews, that talked through the assembly, I have to say I was expecting it to be more frustrating than it was.
It’s not a swanky, sophisticated bike, but for its very modest price it’s a fantastic deal… it’s sturdy, and fine for my 5’6″ height (not good for taller folk really because it won’t provide sufficient leg length). I have pedalled away for more than half an hour on most days since I bought it two months ago, and I love it. It’s neat in size too, so doesn’t take up lots of room. I’m really very pleased with my purchase – it’s simple but good.
Everything as I expected although a little heavier than I thought. Bought to keep up light regular exercise.
Initially attached the wire clips the wrong way round, but didn’t take long to find it worked the other way round
The low base makes it easier to get on and off when your knees don’t bend than the fold up variety with the hinge in the middle
Excellent cycle for keeping fit when unable to go outside. Good price .
Im 6ft 2 and I have no problem riding this bike. Its very sturdy, feels like a real bike to pedal. Overall, I’m very impressed with it.
Bought as a replacement for a bike that was out of stock. Delighted with it, and much cheaper too !!
Build quality is really good. Max level isnt that intense but its OK after a long time. was doing some HIIT for 20 minutes and I started smelling like warm rubber smell? Seat is solid I recommend buying a wide seat cover with a gel cushion. For the price overall very happy
Perfect home bike for a quick workout. The resistance is good and it tracks your cals/distance pretty accurately. It’s not sturdy enough to stand up on but for the price you cannot complain at all.
Great bike for the price ., I’m a runner but needed an indoor bike . This had turned out perfect . Very addictive
I love this exercise bike. It’s very easy to assemble, it’s very sturdy and really easy to use. I absolutely
love this bike. It’s ideal for exercising while we are in lockdown. This bike is ideal for all age groups,
young and old alike. Very versatile.
Delivery early, FAB ! Instructions quite easy to follow apart from stage 4 (just have faith) . If you follow the instructions on line you can enlarge the photo to see exactly how the wire should go. I just read one of the reviews (I think it’s the second one) and her advice on how to do this you’ll be fine. Wish I’d read it all before starting!!!
The machine itself is great. As many others have said it’s not for the more long legged amongst us but it’s just right for me 5’4″ and just about OK for my husband 5’10”
I would have given it 5* but there is no real helpline. I didn’t manage to get through on any of the phone numbers given but I did get a response to my email just after I’d finished assembling it. Pity, I wasted a couple of hours trying to work out how pull up that pesky bit of wire when a five minute chat with someone who knew how to do it (or had I read that review I mentioned) I’d have assembled my bike in less than an hour!
The main issue with the assembly is ensuring that the tension wire from the pedals attaches to the frame to enable the adjustment of pedal speed to be made.
It operates in a similar fashion to a bicycle brake but is extremely hard to put in place, otherwise assembly was in line with the instruction booklet.
I’m 72 years old find exercise bike brilliant especially with weather now colder don’t have to go out to keep fi
This is a very well built, sturdy bike. The assembly instructions are clear, and the parts very well enginered so they all fit together securely. That takes 60-90 minutes. I checked out many machines before selecting JLL JF100 and find it is remarkedly good value. Thoughtful little features,(e.g. colour coded wiring) show good design sense. I had no need of most possible extra features on the more expensive bikes, and even ones with the same features as the JF100 were 50-150 more expensive. At first I expected the 4kg to be rather light, but not so. The ride is smooth, seating and handlebars have a good range of adjustment the whole bike very stable and the monitor gives adequate feedback. Possibly real keenies might want adjustment to a higher maximum load but I found the range fine. Also note that the monitor is completey metric (Km). Staff at JKLL were helpful, courteous and prompt. A replaceent part I wanted owing to slight scuffing on the handlbars was posted off as soon as I reported it, not even waiting for photographic evidence.
Highly recommended
Great addition to us since not going back to gym. Comfortable and easy to understand the controls.
We bought this bike as we could not get to our swimming classes due to cov19
Best thing we have ever done..
So easy and comfortable to ride, this is from a 75 and 78 very fit people !!!!
No hesitation in recommending this bike
Nothing to dislike – for the price it’s a good little bike
It’s an excellent product and the price is very good. Very stable and sturdy. Not difficult to assemble but you should use the youtube video. I might have struggled using the written instructions alone. I have been using it for more than a month now and have got some much needed exercise during the pandemic. All in all, very pleased with it. However there are a few points to consider (which don’t bother me very much or at all).
1) It is build for the shorter person and is ideal for me.
2) I am not sure if the calorie display is that accurate. The level of difficulty doesn’t seen to have much effect. But I put more emphasise on the timer anyway.
3) The peddles can occasionally be slightly squeaky when during workout but not really a problem.
I have never owned an exercise bike in my life and so just wanted something at the cheaper end (if I am being honest this was in case I gave up in a few weeks time and it becomes a clothes hanger – you know what I’m talking about!)
I have put on weight in lock down since March – I am in my forties – I needed to do something to get my backside back into shape!
I bought this after attempting to start the couch to 5K, which rendered me unable to walk without hobbling (knackered both my knees and heels for nearly 2 weeks!). Following the need to wear trainers with compression socks to support my heels for nearly two weeks (the horror!) I submitted to the conclusion that I really am too unfit and overweight to run and following Google research decided I need to a) lose weight before I attempt to run again b) do some strengthening exercises and c) do something to get my money’s worth from the Nike Air Pegasus trainers I’d forked out s for!
Husband assembled this in about half an hour – he is 5ft 11 and had no problem using it (I nearly didn’t buy this as other reviewers said it was no good for tall people – maybe my hubby just has short legs!). I am 5ft 3 and so obviously it’s fine too.
I have used it twice since yesterday: it is compact; it is sturdy; it is noiseless; it has 10 tension settings (I’m on setting 4 at the moment and that gets my heart rate up just fine!); it measures your heart rate; your speed; the distance you have gone; the time you have been exercising for and the calories you have burned. I transfer this info into my fitness app (as I’m on a calorie controlled diet).
The best thing is that you can watch TV whilst on it (my hubby said I can go on YouTube and pretend I am riding through the alps – as if – I watch trash TV for half an hour and he leaves me in peace – that’s just a win-win situation!). And of course the other bonus, there’s no bumping into neighbours whilst in a sweat, out-of-breath mess running in lycra in the rain!
I absolutely love this exercise bike and I hereby solemnly declare that it will not become a clothes hanger! If you want a great way to start exercising whilst watching TV and without going out in public – buy this bike!
Its a Great Bike Value for the money. Would recommend
Good quality exercise bike with clear digital display. Easy to use. The assembly and user instructions could do with a better translation the assembly would have been a bit easier then. The user instructions are a bit like a seventies comedy script and really are not fit for purpose (unless the purpose is to raise a laugh). However, in use the bike is very good with a nice smooth action and a comfortable seat, with adjustable height and multiple positions for the handlebars.
easy to assemble, took around 30 minutes on my own although connecting the cables can be a little tricky. Quiet to use, sturdy, well made and stable, saddle can get a little uncomfortable after thirty minutes use, I suggest buying a gel pad, on the downside counter resets to zero after every use if left for more than five minutes which means if you use for multi sessions over day you have to remember distance cycled, calories etc for each session.
Overall a decent quality bike for the price, can be used by all members of the family, stable and well built.
I am 88 don’t laugh but I go to the gym but not at the moment.i did have a bike before but not very comfortable this one is brilliant not a bit noisy and very comfortable. ThanK you. Margaret Buckingham
Was easy enough to assemble, only problem I had was the attaching the wires but got there in the end. Great sturdy bike well worth the money
I managed to put this bike together on my own in under an hour. There was a bit of head scratching when it came to hooking up the cables for the bike computer but, using common sense as much as the instructions, it worked out fine.
The bike is really quite compact and relatively light. I can stash it in the corner of the room when I’m not using it, and it doesn’t feel like a major chore to pull it out when it’s time to do some exercise.
It’s easy to adjust the resistance, the computer is clear, and it’s almost silent when you’re pedalling.
A couple of minor issues: as the resistance increases, there’s a slight loss in the smoothness of the rotation of the pedals. This seems to sort itself out after a while. The other thing is the saddle – after about 20 mins it’s not that comfy any more!
For the money, this is excellent value: easy to assemble, mostly smooth when you’re pedalling, lightweight and almost silent. It was also delivered really quickly.
Easy to assemble.
But small for taller people over 6 ft.
Otherwise a very good product for the money.
Fab bike for the money.Watch the video to assemble it, it’s makes it much easier the book isn’t very clear.
Great exercise bike, arrived ages before expected, would definitely buy from them again.
I’m very overweight, get puffed out getting off chair and too heavy to spend ages on my knees, hands not strong and 5.4″ but can lift 7-8kg with ease. I gradually wheeled the box up the stairs and slide it into my room. sat on bed and opened box and laid all bits out with handlebars on pillow down to stabilizer at bottom of bed. helpfully all the bolts were already in their holes. the base I could lift out drop off the empty polystyrene and then the full one.
it stands upright so no balancing acts.
I got a firm cushion/pad for floor to kneel on.
stabilizers on first, then saddle.
saddle a little slow with spanner but perfectly possible. the slowness pays off because you won’t miss a thing.
the post in next and I needed to really look at pictures. pictures do have all info you need except where to pull to fix tension wires.
I put tension wire through some thing that looks like a spring.
with a piece of thin cloth…in each hand. one hand on bottom of bracket and other hand under the post I could gently pull the wire into place as per picture. the only reason I did this extra step is because I could easily see my skin getting trapped in bracket and , I didn’t want someone else to do it because they would have pulled on the entire black wire which is supposed to stay put. the tension dial is strong enough to turn the tension so you definitely do not need force.
the elastic bands came in handy to hold wires in place as working.
the power wires do not need force and gently clip together. take time to look inside each end and marry them up. they don’t look like they can cope with lots of manipulation so go gentle and accurate.
these wires are bit weak looking but if it’s put together carefully tgey have ability to be repositioned once/twice. they are perfectly suitable.
handle bars required me to have everything at hand to keep it in place and screw. by this time I could sit on end of the bed or stand to do this bit. take your time to look.
there are no loose wires hanging…everything is carefully tucked in post.
I put pedals on and for this you need to think clockwise and anticlockwise. use the spanner to tighten.
then the straps have a right way up.
the seat bolt I checked was in place well. I lifted seat to make sure it was definitely locked in place. the bolt at end must be sprkbgloaded so might seem locked in until you gently lifted by seat.
when I sat on bike I did manovere it near the bed so I could land on this if needed. yes my confidence in my technical abilities was low hence needed landing place. I was surprised! I peddaled, the computer turned on, I could changed tension and actually feel difference.
pulse reader worked too.
I’m still looking at it wondering how the hell it appeared. I didn’t break sweat putting it together so it is actually a joy to see.
and just as nice to realise it takes up a relativte small floor space so it neatly fit between wardrobe and laundry basket
and then equally lovely was realising the position of handles and body meant my knees didn’t hit my big tummy while cycling.
since no energy expended I had plenty left to tidy up and then a cycle to Jonathan creek!
The bike weighs less than 20 kilos and is very easily moved from place to place. The display works on batteries so it doesn’t need to be plugged in, which gives more options where to use it. It’s quite small so can tuck in a corner, etc, and is not obtrusive, even in the lounge. It runs silently. The handlebars are encased in foam which feels nice to hold, although I hope it won’t degrade. It took my husband just under an hour from opening the box to full assembly, including studying the instruction manual. It’s the perfect size for me. I’m 5 feet tall and I buy trousers with a 28″ inseam if that helps anybody, but I have the seat at almost its highest position. I needed to put the resistance on 7 (out of 10) compared to my old NordicTrack bike where I use resistance 1 or 2. I’d prefer the display to be upright rather than almost horizontal, as it would be easier to read. Only one thing can be displayed at any one time (eg time elapsed, calories, etc), although one can choose which to display. I don’t know how long the batteries will last but two AA batteries don’t cost much to replace. Feels sturdy when in use. Very good value. The seat is large and very comfy.
