This large deep bowl is heavy gauge sheet steel. It does need cleaning after every use and left in the rain WILL rust – Ive given mine some Linseed Oil. Stand is sturdy inch tubing with plastic endcaps. This keeps the fire well off the ground although it is probably not high enough to avoid some heat damage to grass. I put some plywood under it to protect grass and it got very warm but not hot or scorched. Very biddable piece of kit and as I store it under cover I expect it to last many years. If I had a bigger space, I’d probably look for a bigger bowl size. But by far the best fire pit I’ve had and for the price, it’s just brilliant. Fires start easy no issues whats so ever. Weathered fine too. All adds to the character. However coal won’t burn in it and large hardwood logs tend to go out after the outside has burned. The pit itself is easy to put together and store. I left it out and it started to rust but very easy to turn down upside down not the stand and covers when not in use.
