NEKTAR DAW INTEGRATION

Control your DAW: Impact LX Mini works with any MIDI music software right out of the box. But if you install the included NEKTAR DAW Integration software, you can control up to 21 DAW functions from LX Mini’s transport buttons: Control extended DAW transport functions (including locators), navigate and select tracks, open DAW windows and more.

Nektar DAW Integration for LX MINI currently supports: Ableton Live, Bitwig, Cakewalk, Cubase, Digital Performer, Garageband, Logic, Nuendo, Digital Performer, FL Studio, Reaper, Reason and Studio One. (Nektar DAW Integration software available as download upon registration in your Nektar user account.)

TWEAK INSTRUMENT PLUGINS

Use software instruments like a hardware synth: Press “Instrument” mode and tweak virtual instruments directly from the hardware’s 8 knobs. With DAW integration, the page button gives you access to 2 x 8 assignable functions. Many internal plugins are pre-mapped, and creating your own maps for 3rd party plugins is done in seconds. Without DAW Integration, you can use Instrument mode for the DAW’s MIDI learn function.

BITWIG 8-TRACK DAW INCLUDED

Produce and perform like a pro with the included Bitwig 8-Track DAW. It comes with over 50 software instruments and effects for use on up to 8 audio or MIDI project tracks (if you own 3rd party VST plug-ins, you can use those, too). The also included ‘Bitwig Essentials Package’ featuring a handpicked selection of highly versatile loops, clips and samples will get you going right away. Even better, Nektar DAW Integration will let you control transport and navigate tracks directly from LX Mini. No matter if you are a pro or just starting out, you’ll be amazed at what this combination has to offer!

whoa! smaller than I thought! turned out to be perfect for on my desk even beside my keyboard and mouse. This was instantly compatible with my DAW (Bitwig) and I really couldn’t be happier for that price.

I have been using this with Ableton Live Standard for some months now. For me, its main purpose is to allow me access to the computers that reside across the room while I am occupied at my drum kit. I really just wanted convenient access to whatever DAW controls I could accommodate.

Though not wireless itself, generally I combine its use with a separate wireless standard computer keyboard in my setup. I still have to connect via a very long USB cable, but I suspect that there is a wireless workaround I haven’t yet discovered. Based on my reading and YouTube tutorials I’ve seen, I understand that there are many more features that almost completely remove the need for the computer keyboard.

It’s very light, obviously compact, and I just can’t get over how well it helps to streamline my workflow. Considering the mini format, one might assume it’s missing features present in larger controllers, but it is actually loaded with more than its older sibling, the Impact LX25+, which I also use.

There are a couple of extremely small items that I would prefer to be different. First, the ports are on the left side of the instrument. In my setup, that means the cables get slightly twisted in order to allow being tucked around the drum heads. I really don’t want to put pressure on those ports, since it’s almost certain that the associated solder joints/welds will break. I would prefer these ports to be in the back, as is common in other keyboards of similar configuration.

Second, the USB connection point is not the C version that is common nowadays. For the uncommon occasion that I would want to pair this with a mobile DAW, I will need to adapt from the older version. Bluetooth is not an option on this keyboard.

The keys are small, but a non-issue in my setup. They are useable, and sufficiently sensitive for my application. If I were to intend to use the keyboard more heavily, I would find the keys too small for comfortable performance. They are suitable for the Mini form though.

I would definitely recommend this keyboard, and I would be tempted to purchase a second one for using remotely with a laptop.

Great features! Integrates very nicely with Ableton.

I have a Panorama P6 in my home studio and wanted some of the same features & DAW interoperability when on the road. This lil guy does everything I need, and works great w/Logic controls out of the box. I wish the keys had a little smoother response/sturdier feel, but in a tiny thing with this many controls & for being able to work on tunes in tight spots, it’s great! Not having to hit finger origami key combos on the laptop to get ideas down quick is what I was looking for and Nektar delivers.

Have been using the Nektar for a while now and I’m super happy making music with it. Quality is good and also stable one. It is compatible with all systems out their, im using it on my MacBook pro. It supports all DAW like ableton and other synth plug-ins..

Worth buying if you are looking for a compact MIDI

I got this because my Native Instruments s49 wasn’t able to connect with Reason. All my Nektar devices have worked right out of the update. It works great, integrates wonderfully, and is a great controller for most DAWs.

What is there not to like? The keyboard is so much better than the AKAI MPK Mini. The AKAI MPK Mini has the worse keyboard ever. I have broken it many times and I’m not hard on a keyboard. The keyboard on this is really nice. It’s firm and feels solid in comparison. I will admit that AKAI MPK Mini is super easy to setup midi routing because it has a direct software interface. This keyboard does not have software where you can program the keys. Instead you have to go through a lot of different steps to program each button. It takes long to program because I split the keyboard up in many ways for special routing to lights etc. Other than that, this keyboard is perfect for what I do.
