Bought for son to use in cab for microwave, works great but I did get an Anderson lead for connecting.
Not sure what the deal is with these chinese-made 24vDC inverters… This is the second Novopal inverter I’ve had. The first was a 1000w 12v->240vAC model, which worked great, then I switched my solar system to 24vDC. First I bought another brand (edecoa) and returned that inverter because the remote was showing 3 bars of power when the battery was actually at undervoltage (below 24v) and potentially being damaged. After returning the edecoa, I bought this Novopal 24vDC->240vAC 2000w inverter, because I’d had a good experience with the 12v model.
Well, as you can see from the attached photos, the battery level indicator on this inverter is, like the 24v edecoa, also totally incorrect. The photos (all taken within a few seconds of each other) show the battery voltage at 24.54v after I’d been running a full-sized fridge/freezer on it at night for 3 hours or so. By any reasonable estimation, the 24.54v battery level is actually around 65% full. The voltage measurement on the LCD screen of the inverter itself shows 24.5v charge. Quite why the remote chooses to display this as a fully charged battery (4 bars) is beyond me. It actually represents a battery that you wouldn’t ideally want to use for much longer without charging.
It’s a real shame, as the inverter itself seems to work well. It’s just the crazy battery level indicator on the remote that lets it down. The Novopal 1000w 12vDC-240vAC inverter that I had previously had a pretty accurate battery-level display — it seems to just be an issue with these 24v models.
No complaints other than that. The inverter works wells and provides a a fairly smooth sine wave under a 1200w continuous load.
I had this added into my Motorhome so I could run a microwave and induction hob via the inverter fed by three 110v batteries, handles the job nicely plus I leave it running my fridge too so very happy with i
I have this hooked up to a 130ah battery powered by a 235w solar panel in my shed. I bought three other inverters that were of bad quality before this one. Can you believe one had been manufactured wrong so the terminals were the wrong way around on the back – dangerous. None of them would work with my uninterruptible power supply. This one does. Now I can charge my laptop which has a fussy power supply.
I’ve run my strimmer off this and various battery chargers for tools.
I have left it on for over 8 hours – all seems good. If I remember I will update the review.
I would recommend.
I’ve been very happy with my Novopal 12v to 240V 3000w Inverter, it was working great for almost a year of regular use.
Unfortunately it did eventually stop producing AC power.
AMAZON helped me contact the Supplier, he was very helpful and supplied me with a new Inverter, I did have to organise DPD to collect & deliver it back to the Supplier at my own cost.
I have so far tested it on a CTEK 10A battery charger & my 1000w Microwave & is working fine.
I’m very happy with with Novopal & would purchase again in the future.
We bought a camper with this inverter already installed. It worked fine, and could heat water for shower, boil a kettle etc. Unfortunately, we did not have a user manual, and connected into 240v shore power and the inverter got damaged and no longer works. We bought a replacement, and in the manual one of the first warnings is to disconnect the inverter if connecting to shore power. Expensive mistake, but won’t make this mistake a second time. But otherwise the iverter seems to work very well
Bought it for use in the motorhome. The Mrs uses it for the hair drier (happy wife happy life) Tried it out a couple times & no complaint from her.
As for me it could been supplied with a positive + boot for live feed to the inverter, I had to use red insulating tape. But I like it for what does & the price.
Should be used for heavy loads eg 2.5kw very sparingly as takes a lot from the batteries which will need replenishing. Must use both pairs of battery cables due to current taken otherwise cables will get hot. Otherwise a great product for irregular use in Motorhome.
Brilliant bit of kit, only bad side is the battery wires supplied are ridiculously small, you will need to buy some good quality wire and connectors and make your ow
Very happy with this inverter, I was sceptical at first as I was going to go with a more expensive make compared to this but I have to say I’m very impressed!. I’m a mobile mechanic and have this as a power source in the back of my van. The power it produces to my equipment is very stable and reliable! I definitely would recommend this to anyone.
Purchased this for a camping trip a couple of weeks ago.
At first, we ran it from the car battery with the engine running which worked well, except we had to use a extension lead to get the power to where we wanted it. Purchased a leisure battery whilst away and able to leave switched on over night with air bed plugged in. Bliss waking up with a solid fully inflated airbed and didn’t hardly drain the battery.
But, be aware, these units are battery eaters and you do need some way to charge up your battery, like a solar panel or split charger in the car. It will happily boil a kettle of water but this does really zap the battery.
For general light use where you need 240v, it’s definitely worth getting. Ideal for charging tablets, phones etc or keeping your airbeds inflated overnight. Would I reccomnded this; yes, would I buy again; yes, would I reccomnded some charging means; definitely as off grid your get about 2 -3 full night’s running then you will need to charge the battery. Not really suitable for running off a car battery unless car is running (but that can put a strain on your alternator). Ours is a large old LandRover so everything is fairly heavy duty, but I’d imagine if you run it from a car battery on a small vehicle, it would kill your battery or alternator in no time. Leisure battery is a must really.
The LCD display is brilliant at showing you the battery status and what it has left in it.
It does spark when you first connect it to the battery which made me jump first time (even turned off).
I also mounted it in a plastic box with removable lid to keep moisture away and cut a square hole in the front to allow plugs to be put through and drilled two holes in the rear for the power leads to the battery. I used some 2×2 wood as battoning inside secured with screws through the box then secured the inverter to that giving it plenty of air flow all around above, sides and below as they can get hot.
All in all, we were happy with our unit and hope it lasts many more camping trips.
This is the second one I have bought because the first one I blew it up oops
After being happy with the 1500w I got, I decided to upgrade to the 3000w and it’s just as good but with more power range! 100% recommend any inverter from this brand!
Remote control is brilliant very easy to install but unsure what the fuses are for and where to put them. Works my hair dryer, straightness and coffee machine in my camper perfectly.
Charging my battery’s for my power tools in my van its perfec
Remote control didn’t work , seller delivered a new one, a little slow but eventually arrived and I can say the inverter is good and powers a kettle no problem but I wouldn’t do it to often as not to good for leisure battery , good product, good price and more than adequate for any caravan/motorhome, short, high power uses, also get a min 150amp mega fuse to link it to your battery to be safe
