Got this for my son for his birthday, we have camped out in it and it’s excellent, very compact when down and plenty of space for a 2 person, great value for money
This is a good quality tent! easy to put up and take down, the poles feel very sturdyand the stitching seems upto standard!
I bought this as a challenge to sleep in a really cheap tent and in my collection it is by far the cheapest. Expectations were low as this is not a hiking/backpacking against the elements kind of tent. I would not use it for stealth camping as it’s not that strong
Poles are fibreglass made to look like aluminium, so they’re not going to last. Material is weak on the fly sheet but the groundsheet material is surprisingly good quality. Zip is a one way zip, not brilliant but will need to be careful. Zip on both the main door and the mesh door, both tie at the bottom. The storm cover over the zip is tight and slightly elasticated which makes it better than some of the more expensive tents.
Pegs are good for picking your teeth but not much more. There are no guylines and I don’t think they’re necessary.
So I put it together, anyone with more than a couple of irradiated brains cells can do it, poles cross in the centre and vents cover with rectangular elasticated cover. Pegged down it seemed sturdy and so I left it for two days in the rain and aside for some very minor drops in the doorway when the door is opened when wet, there were no leaks at all and over 2 days that was quite impressive. I haven’t slept in it yet, I intend to just to complete the challenge but overall, it’s a cheap garden tent for the kids with the extra bonus of actually being decently water resistant. Also sitting inside, it’s not very long, two ten year olds would be happy but it’s a bit of a curl up situation, just under 2 metres interior space to be comfortable.
Looking out from the inside, the stitching isn’t terrible but it’s not brilliant either. There are some gaps but being in a rainstorm over two days, those holes didn’t let any water in so maybe they’re just weak spots in the material.
I may update later after I’ve spent a night in it but my expectations are likely to be met.
