I researched quite a few models and this one came up with a good set of reviews. It was a bit more expensive than I wanted to pay but to be honest, the picture is clear and It’s an easy setup. The carry case is great for positioning it to the right slant on the desk!
I had an issue with the touch screen but the customer service has been top-notch and resolved it quickly! Happy with it so far!
I bought this portable monitor as I wanted the option to take a second screen with me for when I’m working away from home and miss having my large monitor. I’ve got to say I’m really impressed. There’s just one simple USB-C cable and that powers it and provides the image at the same time, making it incredibly simple to set up. It worked instantly with my MacBook Pro. One thing to note is that there are two USB-C ports on the side of the screen and the lower one is the one to plug into your laptop or computer whilst the other is just for providing power (if you wanted to power it separately for whatever reason). I mention this because if you get it straight out of the box and plug into the wrong one you might think it’s not working.
In terms of clarity and image quality I cannot fault the monitor at all. It’s bright, clear and crisp. Next to the retina display on my MacBook Pro it looks excellent.
I have also been impressed with the build quality. It feels solid and durable whilst at the same time being genuinely portable. I pack this into my rucksack with my laptop and there’s still bags of space for various cables and accessories etc. It has a reassuring weight that feels solid without being clunky.
For me this is a 5-star product all the way. I was torn between buying this and trying a more expensive one from a better known brand but I’m very glad I chose to buy this one now. It looks great, it works really well and it’s so easy to take with me wherever I need it. So pleased with it.
I’m very sorry I though this was a android P.C.
as a monitor this is very good
comes with all the cables you need, a case that can be removed, you also have vesa points on the back
its also a weighty item but feels very good quality.
now for the use, i tried my Samsung s9 first and using the usbc to hdmi it just about powered the screen and displayed my mobile phone screen.
I then used an external usb c power as well and i managed to get Samsung dex on it
The touch screen also worked with it.
Next i used my pc and managed to get the second screen working via the HDMI, only problem is i had to mess about with the colour controls and couldnt get the touch part to work,
but overall a great screen but can end up with a lot of wires
This stands nicely in portrait mode as secondary display to my already 27 inch monitor. It needs power via micro USB/USB C and has two inputs – HDMI/Type C. I am using HDMI. I have mounted this on a stand which keeps my desk clear. In addition, it is touch screen, so I can scroll through or tap on links without using keyboard or mouse which is very handy. Image is sharp and crisp. It has a headphone jack which I have not used so far.
Box has everything you need (protective cover, screen protector, hdmi cable, USB cable) to get one started. One can carry it easily and use it as a “on the move” second display.
So I got this for free as a vine reviewer but it’s actually been on my wish list for two or three years! I have an ASUS MB169b+ portable USB monitor that uses DisplayLink to send the video signal which is compressed by the computer and then decompressed by the monitor. The result is lag and poor saturation. I’ve been thinking about upgrading to this monitor but holding off because the ASUS still works adequately as a second monitor for a terminal or referring to text on webpages. However, now that I have this Wixamit monitor I wish I had upgraded sooner. It’s more compact, has a higher resolution and way, way better picture quality. Not to mention that it has USB-C and HDMI inputs, plus (pretty poor) speakers but they’re there and good for devices that don’t have their own speakers such as a desktop computer or Raspberry PI.
From reading the description and the instructions, it still wasn’t clear if this supports signal and power over a single USB-C cable. I’m happy to say it does! I was also able to power a Raspberry PI 4 and this screen using a single power bank.
I won’t go in depth into the settings but suffice to say you have your full list of settings, more than I expected.
One issue I had was a very, very, slight, almost imperceptible flickering, only seen on bright white backgrounds. I’m assuming this could be due to power fluctuations from my laptop’s USB-C port but it is a MacBook Pro so I’d expect it not to be the one causing the issue. I do have a lot of stuff plugged into it though. As I said, it’s virtually imperceptible and there’s no chance you would notice it if you were playing a game or watching a video.
The case offers adequate protection and is a good stand. Thumb screws are used to hold the monitor in place. There are also Vesa mounting holes on the back and I had no issues mounting this monitor.
Overall, it’s a great portable monitor that great in its own right and makes an excellent portable setup due to no need for extra power. It’s very much a big upgrade from the ASUS. I’m torn between four and five stars but I suppose it’s not quite perfect due to the very slight flickering issue but please don’t let that stop you – you could always send it back and you may not experience it at all.
I think this is a brilliant little touchscreen monitor with a clear display and a good choice of connections. It comes delivered in a plainly designed white box and with the monitor you get a USB 3.0 to Type-C cable, Type-C to Type-C cable, HDMI cable, screen protector, cleaning cloth and the user guide. The monitor features a resolution of 1920 x 1080, has an 800:1 contrast ratio, 350cd/m2 brightness, and a 14ms response time.
The monitor can be powered via Type-C or Micro USB, if you plug a USB Type-C device into it like a Samsung Galaxy the monitor will power up and the touch screen will work but if you add additional power the brightness of the screen will increase. If you plug it into a laptop via HDMI, then you will need to provide power via USB for the monitor to turn on and function, an external battery pack works just fine or you can plug the power cable into your laptop or a mains socket.
The monitor isn’t very heavy and weighs about the same as a large tablet, it has a 1cm bezel round the sides and top of the screen and a 3cm bezel along the bottom. The body is made from metal which is great for durability and the supplied case gives good protection to the screen and doubles as a stand. If you remove the two screws on the back of the case you will gain access to the 75mm x 75mm VESA mount which is an excellent addition and makes the monitor more useable.
The IPS display is clear and colourful, the viewing angles are good and there is no flickering of the screen or light bleed round the edges. The brightness is ok when viewed in dimly lit rooms but can be difficult to see when in bright light or outdoors during the day, this is probably the weakest area of the monitor but its not terrible as long as you provide extra power to the monitor so you have the full brightness available. The 14ms response time isn’t great for gaming, but for casual use and sheer portability I think this monitor is a great accessory to travel with your console as you have everything you need and it can probably fit inside the same case as your console does.
The touchscreen works very well, its accurate and responds well even when pressed in the very corners. I’ve tried it with both Windows 10 and Samsung DEX and it works great with both operating systems. The screen tracks your finger very well and it also works with a stylus pen.
The rocker switch on the side of the monitor is a bit fiddly to use but it gives access to a decent number of settings to configure your display. There are options like brightness, contrast, black equaliser, saturation, hue, sharpness, screen position, colour settings including temperature, volume of speakers, etc. The monitor turns on/off automatically when you plug a device in or turn it on/off. The speakers are good enough to watch a movie or play a game and work through the HDMI, but you can also use the built-in 3.5mm headphone jack.
Overall, I’m quite happy with this monitor and really usable for so many different things. I’m using as a CCTV monitor on a VESA mount and its ideal for this purpose as I can use the touchscreen to navigate the menus without opening the laptop up that’s controlling the software. The price of it does seem high especially when comparing to it other brands, I found larger touchscreens for the same price as this with no discernible difference in features but I do like all the extras you get with this monitor. The screen is a bit dim but apart from that I can’t fault this monitor so it’s a product I’m happy to recommend and I feel it’s worth four out of five stars!
Very slim and portable however the screen does not get very bright the touchscreen is responsive and the overall picture quality is good however should have a better stand included at this price point.
I am currently doing a lot of live video streaming at remote locations, often outdoors in remote locations so keeping my kit as light and portable as possible without compromising on quality is paramount.
So i was most delighted when this portable monitor arrived looking splendid in a faux leather flip case.
It is held to the case using a couple of knurled screws that can easily be removed to show the monitors VESA mounting points. I have one of those monitor arms that fixes to the desk that would fit this perfectly, but at the moment it is for mobile use.
The flip case not only protects the screen but also serves as a stand to hold the monitor at the correct angle in use, this works out great as i can put my switcher on the monitors base to hold it steadier and it doesnt take up a lot of valuable desk real estate.
The monitor can be powered with USB C PD power supply, or a USB C computer connection, note i have had difficulty getting it to power up via usb-c but i think that is the fault of my laptop power supply not having enough grunt to do it.
The monitor has a full sized hdmi socket for inputs from computers, cameras or other video sources, two USB C connections, one for PD power only and another is USB C for data & power and a micro USB connection.
The image quality is excellent when used with my video cameras, the monitor size is ideal for smaller productions and it will be well used on the road.
I love the touch screen use of it, i’ve never owned a touch screen laptop, i could see the benefits but always thought it cant be comfortable touching a vertical surface, this allows me to lay the monitor down and use it like a table without leaning over a keyboard too. I run a switcher control app sometimes and use the touch screen to control the show, it works really well.
The monitor came with a screen protector, i wish they had fitted that and not me, Ive got bubbles all over it i cant get rid of.
I have used the monitor with 2 laptops, Switch and both a normal and also 4k Bluray player (to test the HDR mode). The monitor is packed well and gives a premium feel when you open it up, its also quite thin and is portable. I will not only be using it as a monitor and gaming screen but also hooking up a camera and using as a field monitor.
The first thing to note is that the quality of the panel is excellent and the screen uniformity is pretty astounding for a modern panel. There is no visible banding, backlight bleed, clouding or torch lighting. I have included some images of both a white background and the default blue to try and show this.
There are a number of settings to amend the image quality accessed from a wheel at the side, these include Picture (Brightness, Contrast, Black-equalizer and mode), Colour Effect (Saturation, Hue and Sharpness), Advanced (HDR mode, Eye Protection, 3D Sound and Anchor).
The monitor also knows what type of signal is being fed into it, if you input a HDR (High Dynamic Range) signal it detects this and if you have HDR switched to Auto will automatically switch to that mode, very clever stuff). There are however no adjustments with a HDR signal, the panel takes over to display the image.
I have been using the monitor for a few days now with two different laptops and both produced excellent results with the touchscreen working as mentioned, the panel is responsive to the touch. The quality of the display however will only be as good as the signal fed in and this may rely on the computer that it is connected to. I found the display bright, sharp and very colourful and the default image settings quite well balanced. My only concern using this as a portable monitor outside would be the fact that the screen is reflective and although great for video and colours it might be difficult to see with lots of nearby reflections in direct sunlight.
I next used the monitor with my Switch, I was able to connect with ease and was away gaming in no time. I switched the monitor to performance mode as I thought that would give me the best chance of a smooth gaming experience but to be honest when I switched through each mode they all seemed to work equally well with very little ghosting and a pin sharp image. I tested with some fast racing games where timing is crucial and everything worked great. The sound is the only slight negative point here as it is very tinny but this is to be expected on a monitor of this size, if you need bass and a loud sound then you would need to connect an external speaker through the headphone jack.
I also tested the monitor with two Bluray players because a screen has nowhere to hide when you input a good video signal and the results were surprising. So first I connected a normal Bluray player and found that the monitor actually powered itself from the Bluray USB port, I did not think it would carry enough power but it did. The image was sharp, well balanced and very little motion blur, a great result. However it was when a hooked up a HDR Bluray player that the real surprise came, the panel detected the HDR signal being fed into it and did what I can only say is an admirable job of displaying a HDR image, though obviously at 1080p. The colours are fairly rich and really stand out, the detail was also very good, motion excellent. The panel really enjoyed the quality signal coming into it. The one big flaw was that it was really crushing the blacks, losing detail in dark scenes. Often when panels try and do HDR they brighten up the display and what this panel seems to do is bring the blacks down and the brights are made brighter, which is what is supposed to happen, it’s just that the detail is lost as the panel just cant quite copy with the two extremes, however this is not a 1000 panel and it doesn’t claim to conform to any HDR standards so I have to give it a really big thumbs up and I am very very picky about my displays, most would say too picky and if im happy then its a good display.
A couple of other points to note, the speakers are not good with Blurays at all, the sound is too low and far too tinny. Turning on the 3D sound ads volume but makes anyone speaking blend into the background.
The turning wheel to pick the display options is also very fiddly and hurts your fingers sometimes if you are pressing too hard.
The display is very quick to detect a signal but equally as quick jumping out of the signal if it loses the image, for example finding a chapter on a Bluray, however it just then jumps back in so no big deal really and it only does it sometimes.
The last thing to note is that, although the monitor comes with a HDMI lead if you are using a different one you have to be careful its not too big if you wish to use the port right next to it as they are very close together.
Pros:
– Very good quality clear, bright and sharp screen
– Excellent panel uniformity
– Little ghosting or movement trails
– Good range of options
– Does a very good job of detecting and displaying a HDR image for such a small screen
Cons:
– Sound leaves a lot to be desired but can be rectified by hooking up headphones or an external speaker
– Control wheel for the menus is a bit annoying
– Very quick to jump out of a signal if it has a slight hint there is no image being displayed
This is a fantastic portable monitor. My son in law wanted it for playing his xbox whilst they were away.
It arrives in a very good quality box and is well protected with foam packaging inside. The monitor also comes with self apply screen protectors. Under the monitor is the instructions and all required leads such as the hdmi.
Initially my son wanted this but he didn’t realise that it needs an hdmi port to run. He doesn’t have a spare hdmi port and won’t use a splitter.
It’s touchscreen and you need to use the C lead to use the touch function.
It comes with a removable flip case to protect it whilst travelling.
It’s slim and lightweight. The screen is clear although a little dark even with the brightness turned up. You can use it with games consoles, switches, pc’s, laptops etc. It’s not Bluetooth or anything as it’s a wired screen and it takes power from whatever is connected to it.
My son in laws face lit up when he was given the chance to test it for me. They always have electric hook up when they’re camping so this is perfect for them or should I say him to play games on.
He says that he would buy this as its a mid range price and he’s happy with it. A Recommended item.
I am in love with this device but drains laptop battery. Essential thing in work from home times!!
Pros:
+ just works, you plug it and it works with no set up with windows
+ no extra power needed, just plug to the laptop!!
+ same size and resolution as my Lenovo (see the pictures)
+ light weighted so super easy to move
+ responsive touch screen
+ ok resolution for work
Cons:
– control of brightness is not straight forward
– outdoors it’s hard to see
– the stand is not that easy to set up at first, then it’s gets nicely bendy and works well
– drains laptop battery (I guess this is expected since it has no other source of power)
Overall I love the flexibility of this product and covenience. Fact that I can bring extra monitor anywhere is just grea
– Great picture quality and viewing angle.
– Precise Touch Screen.
– Work without a problem through HDMI/USB-C with Windows + USB-C on Android.
– Good build quality.
Excellent product, I went for the 13.3 inch one. looks smart, the case seems to be of good quality.
Touchscreen works flawlessly on Windows 10 and Mac OS despite it saying Mac OS isn’t supported. I’m running Mojave.
The case stand is removable for those who want it mounted on a swivel arm, overall very pleased with my purchase.
Really swanky piece of kit.
I do love my new toy.
Plus customer service is excelle
Brilliant touch screen very happy with it works great on windows 10
It works great, quality is good and the back is magnetic so I’ve got it safely stuck to a vertically mounted laptop tray next to my main monitor! The instructions for the touchscreen were non-existent though…
You need to go into Tablet settings on Windows and hit return on the settings screen until the “Tap this monitor to set it as the touchscreen monitor” is displayed on the actual touchscreen monitor rather than the primary non-touchscreen monitor.
I had to google it and it’s not exactly intuitive to do it. A simple slip of paper in the pack explaining this would be useful!
