Owned a few gaming chairs in the past because it is what I thought best for gaming, was told an ergonomic office chair was better and this has proven it correct, I cannot compare it to other office chairs so this might not be the best choice out there but anyone coming from gaming chairs, even ones that cost more than this, will be very satisfied 😀
Old chair had a weld sheer away on one of the legs
Parents gifted me a chair that was essentially a piece of bent metal and some fabric
After a week working at my desk in that I was about ready to call quits on life
This new Sihoo chair is an affordable office chair in a severely overpriced market
It’s easy to build
Comfortable
Provides support where you need it
Unfortunately i have fallen asleep in it while working on occasio
I’m delighted with this chair. Finally some back relief! It can go back and I can also sit up straight with it.
One of the things with the review that made me doubtful was that people said when they were sitting upright the back wasn’t supported – I haven’t found this. It’s comfortable and I’m very happy. Ong the nack rest is amazing, my poor neck is always so tired
Great chair for larger users, the back support could be better as it seems to recline far backward when leaning back, which doesn’t make it very usable in most situations.
The arm rests could also be a bit higher.
I recently bought the Sihoo office chair on Amazon, and I am very happy with my purchase! The chair itself is fantastic, super comfy, and sleek design. What truly impressed me, though, was the seller’s outstanding communication and support. They were quick to respond and went above and beyond to resolve a minor issue I had. Kudos to the seller for exceptional customer service! Recommended seller and their product.
Easy assembly with clear instructions, seat is firm but comfortable for long hours of use.
There is very little I could complain about but I wish there was a way to adjust how much pressure is needed to move the back, as it only has one setting for leaning backwards– it also weighs quite a bit so I would recommend assembling the chair where it will be used.
Other than that great product, looks clean and organised and a great investment!
Like:
Mesh seat is comfortable and doesn’t get hot when sitting for long periods, took some time to get comfortable; first few days maybe week was not as I expected; but definitely improved over the last couple of months. Adjustable arms are great, I use them more than I thought I would.
Dislike:
Head rest does not work for me, I am 6’2″ and cannot get it high enough. Lumbar support not that effective. Assembly was ok took about 30min from memory.
I thought I should give an update, to my original review.
After dismantling the chair, I thought I’d give tracking down a replacement part a try, after a bit of browsing I decided to contact SIHOO’s customer services. The chair is well out of warranty but thought I might be able to buy a replacement.
The reason I’ve bumped this back to a 5 star review is they sent out the part for free. My favourite price.
The parts not an exact replacement but it turns it back into a functioning and comfortable chair.
One issue to watch out for, the cylinder piston will be very well attached, I needed to buy one of these to get it to extract:

(Previously)
I’ve been using this as an in-home office and gaming chair for the last 4 years. Up to the last few weeks, it served my average size (6′ tall, 14 stone) self well. It has seen some serious posterior hours in that time as like many I’ve been working from home and continue to do so. (8 hour working day and an evening of gaming most nights).
When it arrived it was easy to assemble, a bit of hex key / spanner work during assembly but nothing tricky.
The chair is comfortable, I have pulled 16 hour days in the thing with no issue (of course moving around occasionally, coffee doesn’t make itself).
Support wise it’s adjustability is fine, good back and neck support. The neck could be a little stiffer maybe but not a huge deal.
So, why the average review.
The picture is the clue here. After 4 years of service the metal connecting plate of the backrest has started to bend and sheer. The washer’s have squashed out of existence as well, maybe I could have caught the pending break if I’d spotted this earlier.
If you’re not going to sit in this chair night and day I think it’s still a good chair. And if they were to extend the connecting portion of the frame it would probably prevent this from happening. It just has too much pivoting potential over those 3 screws.
Bought these after starting my new job where I WFH. I got rid of the headrest because I didn’t really like how much resistance it has, though I might just not be used to it. The tilt isn’t 90 degrees, which is what’s needed, but I sometimes do wish it was possible to tilt it slightly forward to be in a bit more of an upright position.
The biggest pain for this seat is the height adjuster. Unlike every office chair I’ve sat on, you have to push the leaver downwards to increase/decrease the height of the chair. This is quite annoying to do, especially because the right armrest gets in the way, and you’re fighting against it more.
The seat is nice and comfortable, but I do find myself having some mild pain on my bottom after a couple of hours when sitting upright and relying on the backrest. I’ve also noticed that my hamstrings can sometimes get some mild pain but that’s probably my posture. I think my bottom pressing more onto the back-half of the seat (when leaning against the backrest), lead to having sore legs, my knees caving inwards, and the edge of the seat pressing onto my hamstrings (sometimes).
The arm rest is decent with being able to move it around, though keep in mind that it’ll probably lean towards one side if you place your elbow and lean that side. I think it’s already started to happen to mine, though it’s not something that’s bothering me.
Overall, 200 is good for this chair. I was planning on getting the Herman Miller x Logitech Embody for 1400, and this has saved me a lot. I’m not sure if the problems with my hamstrings is caused by this chair, but I’ll see how it’s like in 6-12 months.
This chair has to be one of the most comfortable chairs I’ve ever used! & I’ve had my fair share of the top spec ‘gaming’ chairs.
The mesh design is fantastic, I feel like I just sink in to my chair when sitting down! Build time was around 20 minutes, fairly straight forward compared to gaming chairs when the backrests don’t line up with the bolts!! This back rest bolts on to the seat base mechanism.
Okay so the headline I’ve put, saying to read;
DOUBLE CHECK YOUR CHAIR!! My chair arrived with a broken lever mechanism and if I hadn’t of checked this and built the chair it would’ve made life so much harder. Luckily enough I’m used to this stuff with chairs so I am trying to save people the hassle! Sihoo Amazon customer support were amazing at asking for images and item that was broken and shipped me my new part from the main warehouse from China in 6 days!! Amazing.
SECONDLY; I strongly suggest you remove the lumbar support from the back! It has to be one of the worst supports I’ve ever had against my back. It feels like I am resting against a solid bit of plastic thats slanted at an angle. Doing this has made it night & day comfort wise!! This is the only reason I am leaving 5* for comfort, with doing this it has made it my main office chair for everything up to gaming. I can sit in it for hours!
I have attached images to show there is 6 screws that need removing, I used a socket set philips screw driver bit with just strong finger grip to remove them.
UPDATE:
Sihoo Customer Service very kindly reached out to me to discuss the issues I had with the chair. I had a fantastic customer experience during this process and I have updated my review accordingly to reflect this. I was very happy with my resolution, and despite my initial misgivings about the chair, I do trust Sihoo to look after their customers.
Original Review:
“A fair option – not great for the price
3/5 Stars
I use this chair every day at work, for hours at a time. I’ve had it for about six weeks now, and my verdict is that it is okay – acceptable.
The build quality is decent, and likely the highlight. I like the breathable mesh material on the seat, and everything seems genuinely sturdy.
The adjustable supports are a bit of a let down though.
The lumbar support isn’t comfortable, and I could never seem to get the headrest to sit in the right place. The back of the chair is a bit shorter than I was expecting, and doesn’t really feel too supportive. Its default “upright” angle is also too far back for my liking. Every time I sit in the chair in the locked “upright” position, I am actually leaning back a fair bit. It can be distracting and uncomfortable, in all honesty.
If I had to choose again, I probably wouldn’t get this chair. It has too many niggling issues to be worth recommending. Although, that being said, I am not bothered enough by the faults I find in it, to return it. So take that as you will.”
This feels like a great chair, and fora heavier and taller person like myself I feel comfortable sitting on it. It’s adjustable in so many directions which is great for getting the chair to be how you want it based on your needs.
However, I’m going to return it for one important reason. The backrest does not till forward enough for me. I’m not some ultra-specific user that needs a chair that bends me 45 degree angles forwards or anything like that. I just want the backrest to come forward a little more as I enjoy the upper back support, whereas sitting upright I can only feel the lumbar support (which is great).
The mesh is a nice feeling too, very breathable.
Chair is also extremely easy to build, the gloves for building the chair is a nice touch.
If you’re like me and want a seat that supports you all the way up the back and not just at the bottom, I would not get this seat. I gambled and got this on a whim, having come from more of a “gamer” style Secret Labs chair. And it feels like a great chair but having to leave so far back to get that support just isn’t practical, my head ends up tilted forward too much. This gets uncomfortable quickly, and I already have to spend so much time on my seat.
This is my first office chair, so not much to compare it to. I’m very happy with it though.
Very easy to assemble, quite comfortable and adjustable.
A few small issues though;
I’m 6’1 and I can’t quite get the headrest to feel right, just wish the stem of the headrest was a little longer. But I quite like the chair without the headrest anyway.
The chair does make a bit of noise when you sit on it or move around on the seat – not the hydraulics, but between the mesh seat and the plastic frame.
The sellers have been great! They sent me the rollerblade wheels, which weren’t an option on the listing. But sadly they aren’t as good as I had hoped. They may not damage my carpet as much, but they are more difficult to turn and manoeuvre the chair initially, near impossible for my wife. Once the wheels are aligned they’re great though and I bet they are really good on hard floors.
Other than these small issues, I think the seat has been great value for money – I bought it on sale for 180. There were cheaper chairs and much more expensive chairs, but I feel this one was right on the money.
I have bought chairs for this price before and they have felt flimsy and breakable, but not this one. Super comfortable for all day sitting while working and then for gaming.
Very happy with this purchase.
Regret building it during 40 degree weather though, but still managed it!!
I spent hours upon hours researching office chairs online from various brands and websites. I honestly went through about 400 different chairs. I came across this chair and I wasn’t sure, until I read in the comments someone bought it who has scoliosis. I have pronounced lumbar lordosis and a mild scoliosis so lumbar support is very important for me. I work from home and need something safe and comfortable. I am so impressed with how this chair arrived. Excellent packaging, easy to put together and very sturdy. This chair is fully adjustable and quite heavy which makes for a solid sitting experience that is definitely worth the money. I’d also like to mention that the tools which come with it are packaged well and make the assembly process easy and quick.
I have had the chair for one year now, it’s been ok, the piston failed instantly but I have locked it in place.
It has been used fairly lightly, 8 hours a day, three days a week. Not constantly like a proper computer gamer chair.
It’s been ok but the plastic is now just becoming brittle to the point that the headrest has just fallen off at the hinge. The chair has never been dropped or anything so I know that I haven’t damaged or weakened it from any impacts.
I have another computer chair that costed 600 and it has lasted since 2014 without any issues and has had very heavy usage.
I’d say if you’re looking for a regular use chair, don’t get this, it will start to fall apart for no reason other than cheap materials.
Edit: bumped up to four stars because the seller support for the broken plastic was actually very good and they sent out a replacement with no hassle and no additional cos
Hi, I use a SIHOO M57 chair for 250, full time 10-16 hours a day for the past 9 months, I’m 5ft8 90kg and 20. This chair got rid of my back pains. This is the full mesh chair with a single-piece backrest and adjustable lumbar. I highly recommend the M57 (model can be found in Technical details on amazon page) and having sat on Herman miller I do feel this is a good alternative and much cheaper. Not a 5 star chair as I had to “fix” some things during my use like the squeaks and armrest heights. I will be keeping this chair for a long time to come.
Pros ——————————
Good mesh quality and thickness. It’s soft, not rough, its pattern is interesting and the grey is 2 tones for the pattern. its not stretchedd and kept its shape all this time.it’s not torn or frayed on the edges. i am carefull when i eat as it is difficult to clean, i use a seat cover ( very large pillow cover) and headrest cover ( another pillow cover) so to protect the mesh incase of spiled drinks.
Soft foam base edge — near your knees the base has a 15 cm foam padding that stretches from side to side and is below the mesh. This is great as it means you never feel the frame of the chair.
The headrest is amazing and useable, I use it when working, gaming and relaxing. The armrest and chair functions are highly adjustable and comfy, armrest.
The chair legs for the wheels are thicker wider legs, I rest my feet on them barefoot very comfortably some chairs have thinner legs and I find these uncomfortable because I like to rest my leg on them sometimes.
Lumbar support is of good adjustability and positioned well. Once set it never changed positioned or loosened. This feature removed my back pain
The backrest has 3 locked (fixed)options or free lean. I use regular upright for work, 2nd setting for gaming and 3rd for watching videos, movies or relaxing. A plus to this is the headrest works well with each position but does require you to adjust it.
Cons —————————
The backrest can squeak, this was easily fixed with the use of wd40 on the blots and the lean back system.
When you unlock the backrest so now it’s fully adjustable and then let’s say select the furthest lean back option and you sit like that for 10 mins + and then when the chair is reset to regular position you may notice it’s height has increased. With a short desk, I notice this all the time and it is annoying that I then have to re-lower the chair to my original height,
DISCLAIMER — this has only happened a few times with a varying degree of height changes. Not sure how it happens even after a full rebuild, it might be a fault with my chair.
I have noticed that the armrest from the box was uneven when attached to the base of the chair. So one was slightly higher than the other. You notice this if you rest your elbows on them and then hold a phone 2 handed.
DISCLAIMER — this can be fixed by purchasing thin spacers to add to the blots of the armrest.
Summary ———————-
I highly recommend the M57 (model can be found in Technical details on amazon page) and having sat on Herman miller I do feel this is a good alternative and much cheaper. Not a 5 star chair as I had to “fix” some things during my use like the squeaks and armrest heights. I will be keeping this chair for a long time to come. this chair is my go-too now. at work or school nothing compares, unless i upgrade to 1000 chairs, which i will not ahahaha.
I bought this chair for gaming after reading a few reviews about gaming chairs being bad ergonomics.
I read lots reviews and eventually chose this chair .I wasn’t disappointed in fact having just had hip replacement I’m using this as my main chair after finding hospital chair too uncomfortable.
Had a problem with cosmetic bottom of seat and 2as resolved in reasonable time .
Overall excellent purchase for 15 stone 6 foot gamer with plenty adjusting
Assembly can be tricky at some point when the back rest. I would have liked to have some different wheels optio
For a very affordable price (~210) you get a high quality mesh office chair that looks nice, supports nice and offer decent adjustments. Plastic with metal details and is very well built and sturdy though flex ever so slightly.
The lack of a star is due to some lacking adjustments such as seat extension forward, backrest adjustment in height and armrest adjustment sideways (though about an inch can be adjusted by assembly). In addition, as a tall and large person this chair works (which is good, I’m 6’5″) but the headrest is probably useless if you are above 6 feet tall. It’s at my shoulder blades at maximum height but fortunately it can be removed and discarded (head rest is not recommended for ergonomic seating anyway). The hard frame also cut into my back at times as unlike foam it doesn’t wrap around the edges. If the seat was able to adjust up this wouldn’t be a problem and I’d give it a 5 star. The seat is wide but in practice there is an inch on each side where the mesh rest on hard plastic. So keep this in mind if you are tall or wide.
However, it does work adequate work on someone even as large as me (without headrest) and gives great support. Mesh is just right, not too hard but still supporting, lumbar support is great and neither unsupportive nor aggressive, and I can sit for long times. If you are just under 6 feet it is probably perfect.
Very comfortable chair, easy to assemble plus fantastic support from the selle
Having this chair nearly a month and so far it’s everything I’ve wanted in a chair. Strong robust but stylish with so much adjustments easy assemble good packaging, but most of all so comfortable to sit in no matter how long a happy custome
Great chair, comfort is worth the money.
Excellent customer suppo
I just love this chair. Swift delivery, easy to assemble and nice replacement for my home office chair. I highly recommend it.
I don’t normally write reviews but this time the customer service has been truly incredible: the chair came with a gas lift a bit too short (which I have already given that feedback and I understand they will consider); they offered me to buy an alternative gas lift (larger) and they would reimbourse me for that. Additionally, one of the arm rests was not perfect, but after signaling that they are sending a new piece at no cost.
Overall, fantastic chair which can be regulated in every way, which is the key for an ergnomic chair, as every person is different and most importantly, every desk size will be different.
Highly recommend this produc
Honestly impressed by this chair. I was sceptical but after 6 weeks Id recommend it. Well made and very slick and great back support.
I shouldn’t have been. Some may have had a poor experience but the majority have been impressed, like me.
Really easy to build and it’s such a good chair and feels much more expensive.
The one I purchased was the one with mesh on the bottom also, which is super comfy and less risk of padding becoming thin over time.
Really customisable with the 3d armrests, head rest, lumber and recline tension.
I’ve had it all of one day and I am annoyed at myself for purchasing a ‘racer’ chair before this.
Do not hesitate in buying this (I paid 190 with the voucher) but still would have been more than happy at 230.
Great chair.
After fixing the issue I had the chair is very comfortable and I am quite chuffed with it.
The chair was well packaged on delivery, easy to assemble with excellent instructions. The package included comes a high-quality Allen key for assembly and extra bolts. The chair is comfortable and highly ajustable.
