I did so much research when looking for an office chair and I feel it has been rewarded. It’s a fair price and easy to assemble. All the adjustments are fantastic. I expected the recline to be staged into three fixed stages but in fact it’s a free flowing recline which you can adjust the tension of according to your height/weight. The customisability of the head, neck and lumbar is brilliant. Therenis only one negative which doesn’t merit knocking a star off. Total perfection would be the additional ability to adjust the angle of the seat. I guess that would be quite an extra proce bump for that bit don’t think this affects comfort. I have a terrible back and can happily sit in this chair for extended periods with no discomfort. The mesh is the perfect level of firmness and keeps the body temperature a constant. I’d highly recommend this product.
I wanted a chair for my PC gaming setup. It had to be relatively comfortable, reasonably priced, and not made out of a material that my cats would destroy. I settled on this.
It doesn’t take long to put together, the instructions are easy to follow and all the tools you need are provided to you. It comes with some extra screws and fasteners, too, just in case.
I am pretty happy with this purchase. When I put together a different home office setup, I ended up just buying another one of these. The quality is decent and it isn’t extremely expensive. It’s comfortable to sit in for hours at a time while working from home. The visual design is decent – it’s definitely more ‘home office’ than ‘gaming’, and I prefer that.
Recommended.
Husband is 6 feet tall & XL size. This chair suits him well. V easy to put together. Good value for someone VFH.
Bought this chair in 2020 during lockdown. Dispatched (and received) quickly. Easy to put together, all parts supplied and with very clear instructions. Chair appears solid, is comfortable and easy to adjust. Mesh is very cool, which is important as our house is very warm.
The chair developed an annoying creak after a few months of use, which got worse (to the point where people were commenting on the noise during conference calls!). Contacted the supplier and they very quickly identified the issue and sent a replacement part within a couple of days. Fitted it and seems to have fixed the problem. Excellent post-sales support from Jane, who was very polite and prompt with her responses.
Overall a positive experience and a great example of good customer service when issues do arise.
I’m 5’7 and weigh 70kg, so far its very comfortable. The headrest, reclining postions/pressure, back support pressure, arm rest and height are adjustable. Tools are already included and also a pair of disposable gloves which makes it so convenient to build. Another thing I didn’t realise is that the reline positions are lockable up to 3 stages by unlocking recline, and then locking it again in the desired recline position. Don’t think my last chair ever did that! And that reline pressure valve below the seat makes such a big difference, loosen it to make it feel like you’re falling or tighten it to feel like you’re steadily sinking in place as you recline. Overall it’s a good chair, especially since I have really bad back pain and posture!
Very good and comfortable chair with back support (that I needed). Very easy to assemble, instructions are good and comes with the tools needed and parts partitioned in separate plastic compartments. Highly recommended.
his chair is really comfortable, sturdy , very well made.had the chair about 2 years now and is still as comfortable now as when we purchased it, really pleased with it.
I’m not bothered in general with reviews, but need to write about this one! Soooo, I decorate cookies, work long hours and sit in a chair many hours per day… After 3 years of using a very humble office chair, with no back support, I ended up paying therapists, chiropractors, you name it- KCR… I thought my problem was my lower back, I couldn’t even walk to do my grocery shopping cause I felt pain all the way… I used to lean on the trolley
So in general I could not walk for too long, in the park with my son, I couldn’t stand too long to wash dishes, etc… I started to get really worried- and not working was not an option, as I’m single- So I said I’ll change the chair and see… Did a good search, and got this one cause I liked the idea of having the lower back adjustable cushion.
I’m 5’7 feet, so not too tall, and the cushion is set to the max inside, and at the maximum height, unfortunately for others (cause if they’re taller they won’t be able to set it higher) – but for me it works, so am extremely happy about that!
Everytime I sit, I feel like that cushion is massaging my lower back, and keeps my spine straight, for many hours- or much straighter than my old chair….
I must have it for about 2-3 weeks, I need to say that I can happily stand and wash dishes, walk with no pain, or way less than before… I’m so glad I got it, before I damaged any further my back from sitting long hours in the wrong posture…
I have ordered the grey colour, suits my living room so nice, it’s literally beautiful! It’s a very heavy and sturdy chair, seems super strong and durable… Was a bit concerned when I saw the seat is made just of mesh, so will need to hope that will last…
The airlift works like a charm, nice and easy… I assembled it myself, comes well packed with a nice key- really basic assembling (if I can do it, you can!)
Took me some adjustment to it, I mean time to get used to it, being so heavy and imposing, but now I’m ok, and most of all, really greatfull for getting rid of that silly back pain, till the point it was parallyzing and had to lie down!
So for anybody working from home, and not only,(thus can be used in an office too) take care of your back posture as in time you’ll spend more money on therapies than on a good chair! Well worth the money!!!
Many months after I bought my chair it broke, I don’t really want to to dwell on the defect because I was so pleased with the way the company responded. They replied within a day from my contact, and after I had provided them with photographs of the defect they sent me a replacement part immediately. This is the way it should be but mostly isn’t – I thoroughly recommend.
Overall a great chair, decent quality. Although chair came a little damaged, I was offered Ned parts or compensation. Took compensation as damage was so minor. I am 6ft 1, chair just fits although I wish the headrest was a little longer. Comfort is also great, no issues and sits at pretty much 90 keeping your back staright with nice support. Had it about 2 weeks so far not many complaints, only wishing the headrest was a bit higher.
Edit; also the armrests can get uncomfortable. Not sure if it’s just with me, but bought some pillow covers for them, way more comfortable
Comfort A1 Support Perfect Easy to assemble. .Did so by way of tutorial on You Tube within 40 mins.. Only one minor gripe adjusting the back recline by twisting the knob underneath the seat was a bit difficult. You can’t do will sitting on the seat you have get up off the seat and the dial was a bit tight to manipulate but got there in the end
– Order arrived faster than expected.
– 30 minutes to assemble.
Extremely comfortable chair. I was previously looking at gaming chairs but soon realised that ergonomic chairs like these are much better.
Arm rests are 3D (Up/Down, Forward/Backward and swivel slightly Left/Right).
Height adjustable and also reclines.
Lumbar support in/out and up/down.
The only negative is i’m 182cm tall, the headrest doesn’t adjust high enough for me. I have to extend it beyond the clicks and then its ok, but it drops down slightly when i leave the chair. Tempted to somehow extend the adjustment by adding additional countersunk holes so that the adjustment clicks and extends further. I’ll see how i get on for a bit longer first.
Other than that minor issue its a brilliant chair and extremely comfortable.
Would I buy another? Yes probably as i couldn’t find anything better online without paying a lot more.
Thank you Sihoo!
I was looking for a chair with the right lumbar support and cool for sitting for hours on end. I’m not disappointed as this chairs does what it says. And very adjustable. I’ve had it for a few weeks now and still very happy.
it feels a little flimsy until you sit down. Personally think it feels a bit cheaper than the price tag might suggest as a mid-low range office chair.
The headrest isn’t even close to being in the correct position for me even at its max height. I’d guess anyone who it at least 6ft 4 won’t be able to take full advantage of the headrest.
The top of the headrest is lower shoulder/top of the spine height for me being 6 and a half foot.
Still, makes my old DX Racer King feel like a torture chair.
Took a few minutes to put up. Significantly more comfortable than my previous office chair that I was getting backache from. I should probably stand up more often but this is good for sitting 3-4 hours at a time all day long without getting backache – worth the money as far as I’m concerned
I used to own a GT omega, it was great but getting older it was time for an upgrade to save back pains in the future. I managed to snag a good deal off this chair during a sale but it’s definitely worth the price tag it shows at the moment.
adjustment is super smooth and the mesh material supports your body nicely.
(headset shown is the arctis 5)
The “Headline” title is earned by the multi-adjustment features of the chair.
This allows the sitter to tune the chair to their personal ergonomic specification.
At my count, 6 parts comprising the chair for a mix of – height, forward/backward, support, tilt, and
tension – delivers this specification.
Great chair. I had a cheaper chair and since working from home I did end up spending hours in it. Started getting stiff shoulders and at one point my legs started falling asleep. In comes sihoo. Was easy to assemble. The chair comes with its own tools and manual. Even has a pair of white gloves so you don’t get your hands dirty. Very comfortable to sit in. No more back pain. Has lumbar support. It ain’t a Herman Miller but is pretty darn good for the price. Have been sitting in it daily now for nearly a year. Have no qualms. Absolutely magnificent.
It would be a perfect chair and I would have given it 5 stars if it wasn’t for just one thing: it was a bit too low for me, even at the max height setting. I am 170 cm tall and have a fairly short legs (29″), and my desk is 75 cm high. But I loved every other aspect of the chair so much, that I decided to improve the a/m drawback by a simple DIY trick: I inserted a 1″ (25mm) plank of wood (a decking board) between the titling mechanism and the actual seat making the chair (the seat position) 25mm higher. I had to buy (on Amazon) longer bolts for that, but it wasn’t a big problem. It is much better now, but I still wouldn’t mind it being another 1 cm taller.
Apart from that, it is a perfect chair. It has a several must have features:
* adjustable lumbar support. If it is too hard for you (though it is padded) you can insert a piece of foam between the provided lumbar support pad and the mesh fabric of the back rest (as I did – it will be practically invisible). The adjustment range is quite sufficient (up/down, back/front).
* The headrest is very adjustable and very well anatomically-shaped. It makes a big difference and I use it often.
* The adjustable arm rests are very good – setting the height right (level with the desk) prevents many problems associated with a prolonged use of a mouse. They move up/down, front/back and at an angle. The angle position can easily be changed by accident (when pulling the chair), but it is equally easy to correct it when it happens. The plastic of the armrests is not cushioned, but it is soft enough to be comfortable (it is not hard).
* The back rest can be adjusted easily to several pre-set positions, and it being wider at the top supports your shoulders very well.
The chair has a “premium” and stylish look and is very well made. It doesn’t look too big even in a small study.
In other words – a perfect and reasonably priced chair, but next time please make it a bit taller…
After initial problems with incomplete packaging and one-star review I decide to change overall rating to five star – six stars for exceptional comfort and design in its price range, and minus one star for service.
It is may be the best office chair you can by for short people in 200 or bit more.
I’m glad I picked this chair, as a lot of other chairs had reviews saying they were hard to put together. This one though was a breeze and took less than half an hour.
The quality is superb and it seems really strong. Most important is that it is very comfy to sit on, which is crucial as I use it for work.
Easier to assemble then predicted. Comes with gloves to protect your fingers from he grease areas. The tool itself has a good handle for use (better then somthing you would expect from suppliers ikea for instance) Some parts are fairly heavy. But the parts are solid and decent quality with alot of adjustability. Would buy again.
Pros: solid, good adjustability, cheap for what it is. Reclines very far.
Cons: pretty uncomfortable (sore ass) after long sitting. Head rest doesn’t go tall enough without modification. Fixed locking recline positions.
Any chair can be great when new, the real test is after a year did it hold up?
I purchased this for my husband’s birthday. His experience was that it was easy to assemble and very comfortable! We would definitely recommend it and it said delivery was about 8-11 days but it came in 2 days! Super quick!
Fantastic chair and great service. Have chronic lower back pain and myofascial pain – been working from home completely during lockdown with regular zoom meetings (as well as connecting with family and friends). This chair has made a huge difference to comfort levels in a very short space of time. Easy to assemble, great value for money and looks good too…result!
Have been using this for about a month now.
Things to like:
It was delivered significantly faster than the original order suggested, which was great.
It was very straightforward to assemble.
It seems very well manufactured, sturdy and durable.
It looks good.
Back support and head rest are both perfectly fine for me (5″10′, 65kg). Arm rests work well, back / forward/up/down/twist left and right.
Things to consider:
Because it’s got the mesh seat and back rather than cushion, I’d say it does get a little uncomfortable after a full day sitting in it. Could prob say that about a lot of seats though.
The back seems to only have three positions, the furthest forward of which is scarcely vertical, so if you are slightly inclining forward then there’s nothing to push back against. Again, not a huge issue, but I do learn forwards on occasions and noticed this.
In general, I have to agree with the many other reviewers who liked this seat. Sure, feels a bit expensive compared to others out there. It took me a wee while to bite the bullet. Happy that I did. I’m using it for 8 or more hrs a day and wouldn’t change it at the minute.
Wasn’t sure whether to get a Aeron or a Neue chair and someone recommended this because it would be easy to return if unsatisfied. So glad I did, it’s great value and also great comfort/support. Back ache has gone!
Bought to replace a gaming chair I had been using as an office chair. As comfortable as the memory foam on the gaming chair but a lot cooler if seating for some time. Arms adjust forwards, backwards, up and down as well as rotating. Lumber support adjustable up and down to suit as well as in and out. Can also recline but I don’t really use that. Glad I bought it and expect to be using it for a long time. Self assembly was fairly easy, a few bits would have been easier with a second pair of hands.
Instructions for seat adjustments could be clearer. The stalk under the seat on the right controls both the seat height and reclining. Twist it (firmly) to adjust the height. Pull it out sideways to recline. Push it back in to lock the recline. NB need to make sure the gas piston is well seated into the seat socket for the height adjuster to engage
Very happy with this purchase, well constructed and stable – no wobbles or squeaks and I’m not the lightest of people so I’ve tested that thoroughly.
I would buy this again but I don’t think I will need to as this is built to las
I really wanted to buy an ergonomic chair that would mainly support my back and neck, and this chair delivers just that!
The chair helps me to sit at a 90 degrees angle while the lumber can support my lower back/spine. I’m 6ft3 tall but after a couple of hours of sitting on this chair I felt like 6ft5.
Took me 30 minutes to set up and offers so much back and lumbar support and is comfortable to sit on for many hours. The headrest is very adjustable and offers a lot of neck support when laying back. Would highly recommend this chair it is amazing for the price.
Shipping was really fast (the chair arrived earlier than estimated) and assembling was straightforward. Unfortunately when I was assembling the chair I noticed that the sitting cushion was a bit damaged. It was not having any functional effects, it was only aesthetical issue. I assembled the chair and decided to keep it but contacted the seller to let them know and ask if they could just send the defective part. 2 days later it was delivered to my door! Amazing customer service and experience! The chair is really comfortable and convenient and I can already feel the difference in my lower back and sciatica with the lumbar support cushion. Excellent product and amazing customer service. Highly recommended!
Thank you for the great experience!
Really well made and sturdy. Very comfortable. Highly adjustable. My only quibble is the lumbar support feels a bit hard after long sitting and perhaps too far into the chair towards my back – my lower back doesn’t curve that much but I can’t adjust it to go any further away from me. I am sitting all day in this chair looking at zoom. I love that it rocks a bit. Only had it about a month but my whole body feels better for it. Great design at a good price. I am very happy that I took a chance on buying this chair as couldn’t go to any shops and try chairs during lockdown. It replaced an Ikea chair – far superior. And the arm rests – love having armrests.
This chair is amazing had a “gaming” racer style chair sucked super uncomfortable and not worth the money, this is super comfy and definitely worth every penny was having back pains on my previous chair and considering I work on a desk all day and play games after work it was super uncomfortable, however now I can sit down all day with this new chair definitely worth a buy.
One of the things with amazon is that often a product is marketed as being quality and great and you get it and it feels like it cost 5p to produce
This chair feels quality. It supports my lower back. Putting it together was relaxing not stressful and it took me 5 minutes to adjust it to my liking.
Bottom line I am really happy with my purchase and as we all work from home for the moment a lot more comfortable
I have been using this chair for some time now. It is very well built, and very comfortable. I have had no back pains since switching to this chair. When it is warm in the house, the mesh in this seat helps prevent your “posterior” from becoming uncomfortably hot. Would definitely recommend it.
Chair has good support that is adjustable and making it easier to sit at my desk 8-10 hours a day due to wfh.
I bought replacement wheels as the plastic wheels it comes with aren’t the best. As well improvement they could make is better arm rests as they have a lot of play.
I like the comfort it give me. I use it every day and it is the best chair I have ever bought. I will definitely recommend.
I ordered a Komene equivalent and sent it back as the back rest seemed to hang slightly to the left – even after three re-builds – I went Sihoo instead. Both chairs seem really robust and made from good quality parts and both were carefully packed with very clear instructions. Sihoo was slightly quicker to assemble but I suspect both are made from parts from the same factory as the bolt packet and bolts and washers inside were identical. I think the Komene seat was slightly more comfortable although both are comfortable. The Sihoo can adjust the backrest in and out as well as up and down and the headrest has more settings so overall I prefer it. Both chairs look and feel great and I may have been very unlucky with the Komene back rest.
I purchased the SIHOO Ergonomic Home Office Chair as a replacement for a rather old (and cheap) office chair that was worn out due to the extended working from home during lockdown.
Assembly was quick and simple and it only took a few minutes to to adjust the chair to a comfortable seating position.
I’ve been using the chair for 6 weeks now and it’s helped significantly with posture and reducing fatigue.
Yes, it is a little more expensive than “basic” models, but it offers premium features for a very reasonable price. Highly recommended.
Used as a home office chair. Had product for about 3 months now. Most comfortable office chair I’ve used. Mesh works well in warmer weather. Adjustable arm supports and lumbar support both work very well. So does the adjustable headrest. Feels very solid, with heavyweight metal in the main structures. Straightforward to assemble. I am 6’2″, so chair is fine for taller individuals.
My chair came with marks on the plastic supports and roughness, when I tried to communicate with the seller I got a reply with a bunch of weird emoticons and poor English. The chair itself works well enough although it leans back too easily. You’ll need to put some oil on it from time to time to avoid squeaking. This was the purchase that put me off buying anything Chinese in the future.
Assembly was straight forward, mesh is comfortable and prevents sweating. All functions that you expect to have are mostly there so pretty decent.
Small niggles… chair squeeks when leaning back, the tension for the back lean takes some screwing if you want a neutral resistance… i didnt achieve it, maybe i should get the spanner on it. Arm rests keep twisting as there is no lock on them, also i feel they are too far forward for me even when set right back.
Saying that it is a good and sturdy chair with all the major functions that you may need.
Really good and comfortable office chair with loads of adjustable features. It arrived much faster than I expected and although I was a bit apprehensive about having to assemble it myself it was actually very easy to do and only took about 20 minutes. Would recommend
I suffer from back pain filling an injury many years ago. Due to working from home I was really suffering with our chair. I decided to invest into this following the reviews. Well worth the money, it’s not an amazing chair like the ones that cost a few thousand pounds, but for the price it’s not too far off.
So I’ve had this chair for about a month and a half at this point. I bought it to be more comfortable working from home as the kitchen chair was doing my back in. After seeing this pop up on a couple different list articles I figured I’d get it.
The good:
>The level of adjustment on the lumbar, arm rests and headrest is fantastic, allowing one to properly match the seat shape to one’s back and posture
>At 240 it was a lot more reasonable in price than other ergonomic chairs that can be 300-1,000
>Mesh backing is firm but slightly springy so one is supported but not uncomfortable
>Pretty solid build quality of rigid plastic frame, and the wheel base is super slick
The areas for improvement
>Some of the fittings are not as rigid as they might be – so there’s some wobble in places
>The headrest adjustment mechanism is weak and so whilst it won’t slip under use it can quite easily be pulled out the top by accident when adjusting it upwards, and has no manual locking mechanism to secure it.
>A few more back tilt locking locations would be nice, the middle location is just a bit further back than I’d like – but that’s personal preference.
Overall for a chair at the lower end of the ergonomic price range this is pretty darn good value for money and I’d recommend to others looking for a chair to provide back support and long term comfort during days spent at the desk.
Nicely presented and feels solid. Mesh is good quality. Only thing I’d ask is one more adjustment e.g. seat angle or forward position.
If you have ever worked in a multi-national trillion dollar company, you will find such chairs spread all over the place. Best ergonomic design, 3D armrests, strain mechanism on tilt, headrest, wheels and mesh for back and seat cushion.
I have used 1500 USD chairs in past in several offices, those are either affordable by huge companies or rich folks. First time i have seen a chair in this price range which almost matches those chairs comfort and features.
The only reason i say almost perfect, is that i have used those ultra expensive chairs since more than a decade. If you haven’t used them, then for you it would be perfect.
No complaints at all. Easiest assembly – max 30 mins. Very sturdy. As comfy as office chairs should be, remember this is not a sofa set, this is a working chair, you shouldn’t expect 5-star hotel room mattress comfort and actually that’s bad for your back as well.
Go for it. Thank me later.
Great quality. Gives very good support to the back and hugs my body well. I believe this will drive up my productivity working from home. Just one thing to consider during assembly. The arm rests should be tilting forwards and not backwards. The instructions were not clear. I had to redo that bit. Otherwise no other problem assembling. Could do that in 20 mins. Cheers
So i had been looking at chairs to buy and was going to buy the ErgoChair 2, however i stumbled upon this on Amazon and thought it was a good price. After it being out of stock quite often and the price fluctuating a bit i managed to get the chair for 209.99 (first saw it at 190).
The chair arrived in the time they specified and was easy to put together, the only issue i had was one of the hex socket threads came out, i just used a second hex key i had laying around to tighten the nut without the thread falling out again. Pretty simple.
The chair is comfortable to sit in and i have sat in it for a whole day without any issues, the mesh helps to keep you cool unlike other chairs where you can start to sweat and like i say its comfortable and can recline if you just want to chill out and relax.

2022 update chair brought in 2020
The lumbar support is not very supportive, by that i mean it does not stay in place. You set the height and a few moments later you may need to adjust it because it has lowered it self. (i would put this to wear and tear but i did not set it up until now when my back started to hurt).
Would contact Shioo, but you go to their main website > contact us and then you are greeted with ” You do not have permission to access this info” maybe i should of got a chair from a more reputable sales company. (254.99 not worth it their was a defect i fixed myself)
The chair is a very well made, quality chair, the materials and construction are of the quality to be expected from a chair of this value. I would’ve given this 5 stars if it wasn’t for the fact that the lumbar support gradually reverts back to its lowest setting throughout the day because the ratchet mechanism that’s used to hold it at the chosen setting isn’t strong enough to prevent the lumbar support post from sliding back down the socket. I’ve now resorted to duct taping the lumbar support post to prevent this from happening.
I’ve only had this chair for a couple days, but it is a huge upgrade from the cheap one I had from Argos
I work from home and use the chair upwards of 10 hours each day and so far I’ve had no back pains and have not felt uncomfortable from using this chair.
It leans back really far so is great when I want to relax and the lumbar and head support are excellent.
I’m a fairly heavy bloke (105kg) and it supports me perfectly. No weird sounds or anything
Assembly was really easy and took me 10 minutes. Instructions were fine to follow along to.
Overall this chair so far has really impressed me and unless something happens, my review will remain 5 stars.
The following is based on nearly a month of use of the chair.
I was very much in need of a new chair for working from home and after spending days scouring all of the various models available I settled on this one.
The chair arrived really quickly and the packaging was superb (an enclosed pair of gloves to keep my hands clean during assembling was a nice touch).
The instructions were simple to follow and I soon had a chair to sit on. When I initially unpacked the various parts I thought I’d been sent two left arms. After contacting the seller for support I rapidly received a very helpful reply informing me I just needed to move the one arm rest back and that’s why it looked like there were two of the same. D’oh! Yes, I am an idiot.
The chair is comfortable, airy, nicely adjustable and the material is lovely and springy. I’m 6″1 and when sat properly the lumbar support is exactly where it needs to be (have a guess). The headrest is also a useful feature as I have a tendency to gradually slouch forward so once I realise my head is not on the rest I move my head back again.
I also like to recline and move back and forth to keep my back mobile during long periods of sitting and this chair easily accommodates this with the locking lever located beneath the seat.
My upper legs are properly supported by the seat with only a small gap between the edge of the seat and the back of my knees (as is what I’ve been told is best).
The adjustable arm rests are also really useful as I can rest my arms whilst also being able to move close to my desk without the two colliding in a thunderous manner.
So far so good.
Delivered quicker than expected. Easy to assemble, with spare fixings included (and a pair of tiny, teeny gloves!), using 7 basic pictures. As good, if not better than the more expensive chair my husband purchased from John Lewis. The ONLY thing I wish it had is the ability to move the seat pad forward and back but other than that it’s highly adjustable.
Probably the metal base of the chair was constructed inaccurately as 2 of 5 wheels were in the air above a flat ground. All in all, after its replacement by the seller, the chair is without that bug and is comfortable for using.
I tested a number of branded chairs in John Lewis for a few hrs including herman miller aeron. Was disappointed in aeron for its comfort given its price range which led me to search for alternatives such as Steelcase leap, SecretLab and this. I decided to opt for this one given its high reviews, and price. So far, I have not been disappointed. Will update in future if I find faults in the next yea
It arrived on time and was very easy to put together. The material is perfect, breathable and easy to keep clean and comfortable to sit on for long periods of time – the arms are very adjustable, going up and down and rotating as well as going back and forward; this really is helpful. The stand is very solid and the metal good quality chrome.
As an artist I use it as my painting chair in my studio so I’m sitting for long periods of time and I find it very comfortable. It is quite heavy so you might need help with assembly if you have a bad back.
I was torn between the various price brackets for mesh ergonomic desk chairs, with the Ikea Marcus chair on the lower end to the higher end Steelcase leap and then Herman miller chairs. This Sihoo chair provides great adjustability and support for your posture during long sessions at a desk and in my opinion provides the best bang for your buck you can get.
In reality there are diminishing returns with going for the really high end desk chairs for most people. The costs can be exorbitant when all you require is a reliable, good looking desk chair with good lumbar and neck support. It should not break the bank. This Sihoo chair meets all those criteria and really beats most standard desk chairs out of the water. The major points are its adjustability of arm rests, lumbar support alongside its standard tilt and lift, but one thing I noticed was that it has great wheels to smoothly move across carpeted floors. Minimal dragging of stuck wheels for the Sihoo chair. Again, I will update as this chair wears in over the next few years, but it seems sturdy enough to last a very very long time.
Absolutely amazing chair and well worth the price.
Assembly is a bit confusing since the arms look exactly the same. Apparently it’s a common problem for people to think that they’ve mistakenly been shipped two of the same arm.
Seller should consider putting some helpful stickers on or something? You may need someone else to assemble it with you since, due to the quality of the materials used, it’s pretty hefty.
Otherwise extremely comfortable. Large range of motion in the arms, up, down, rotate left and right. Lumbar support is adjustable up, down, forwards and back. Good amount of height adjustable and it can recline to pretty close to horizontal.
All in all very impressed with this. You can see a lot of thought has been put into it. Since it’s a quality chair it’ll likely last at least 5 years with daily use.
The dining room chair wasn’t cutting it for my working from home setup, so I set out to find a comparable desk chair to what I have at the office. Not able to afford a new Herman Miller Aeron, I came across the Sihoo M57 and was impressed by all the positive reviews. Not exactly cheap, still I decided to take a chance and order – I’m glad it did.
The chair arrived much quicker than the estimated time. I ordered it on a Sunday, and it came the following Wednesday. Pleasant surprise!
The chair was well packaged, and once I removed the wrapping, it took me about 20 minutes to assemble. The instructions were clear, and the white gloves included were a nice touch, preventing the grease from the hydraulic pump on the bottom of the chair from getting all over my hands. The chair is well made, sturdy and very attractive making it a great addition to my home office.
Once assembled and having used it for several days, I’m very impressed with the comfort and support the chair provides. I can now sit for long periods and not feel as fatigued, and the breathable mesh is soft yet supportive. The adjustable neck rest is fantastic.
The only slight niggle I have is is that I wish the chair raised more. I contacted Sihoo Support to ask a question, and they were prompt and helpful so overall great product and customer service. Very pleased with my purchase. Highly recommended!
I had been having a back problem for a few weeks so decided I would try a new chair to see if that made a difference. Within 24 hours of using this chair my back pain had gone. What a relief. The chair is extremely comfortable, great back support and great to spend all day on. I have given 4 stars instead of 5 for 2 reasons. I find that the head rest doesn’t go quite high enough for me, (I’m only average height) and secondly when tilting the back of the seat back to the click position it’s a bit too laid back. If would be nice if you could fix it at any angle, rather than the one fixed angle. Other than that I would recommend this chair.
I used to have serious pain in my back and coccyx with my previous office chair, especially after long hours (+10) working from home, but there’s a massive difference with this chair. It doesn’t hurt anymore, the back and lumbar support is great, plus is super easy to assemble; i.e. 45 min for one person. It’s equally comfortable as the ones we have at the office where I work, which are more than 1000. So, a great product and fast delivery too.
Arrived quickly. It was easy to assemble, with tools and lovely gloves provided. The chair is really comfortable and offers a variety of adjustments to help provide support where it’s needed. I wanted a chair with arms, but I also wanted to be able to put the arms out of the way to get as close as possible to the desk. Highly recommend this chair.
I have been extremely impressed with with experience buying this chair, and the product itself. I’m not usually one for leaving reviews but SIHOO have provided such a great customer experience i felt it was only right that i do. After placing my order the estimated delivery was given as around a month, however much to my surprise the chair arrived just 3 days later. It was extremely easy to assemble, with clear instructions and everything you needed provided in the box. I have now been using the chair for around a month, and have been extremely impressed with it. The quality of the chair is great, and for the price i think you will struggle to find another chair with the level of adjustability this one has. It provides great support for your lower back and legs especially, while the armrests are also a great feature.
A special mention must also be given to SIHOO customer service, who were very quick to respond to queries i had prior to buying the chair, and went above and beyond to provide a great customer experience. They are a small company who clearly value their customers and place customer satisfaction very high on their priority list, which is extremely refreshing and left a lasting impression.
If you are considering buying this chair do not hesitate, you will not be disappointed and will receive a great chair that provides exceptional value for money.
Due to the lockdown, I’m now working from home, and gaming a lot more than before. I was in desperate need of a decent chair to replace the dining chair I had previously commandeered for the purpose. I was initially looking at gaming chairs and was about to purchase one, when I came to realise that those chairs value style over comfort (some reviews/Youtube videos stated as much). I changed my focus to searching for an office chair.
I have lower back problems if I don’t sit properly, so I needed a good, ergonomic chair. I’ve previously worked at a company, where the chair I used was the 1000+ Herman Miller Aeron chair. That chair uses a mesh design, and was very comfortable. I was thinking of getting that one, before deciding to look for a cheaper alternative.
I did my research and saw that a SIHOO chair (which also featured a mesh design) was recommended in a list of top ten ergonomic office chairs, by a website (can’t remember which). After checking out the other reviews here, I decided to purchase the SIHOO M57.
I ordered it on Amazon, through the seller SIHOOUK, and although the estimated delivery time was 3-4 weeks, I got mine within a week. It was easy enough to assemble on my own, though an extra pair of hands would make certain steps a little less tricky.
I’ve been using the M57 for over 2 weeks now, and it’s made a world of difference! I couldn’t sit in the previous chair for even 3 hours, without back pain, as there was no ergonomic support, and the padding in the seat was too soft. With this chair, I’m sitting for hours on end, both for work, and then for gaming, and I haven’t had any associated pain, even once. I think this is due to the sturdy mesh design on the seat and back rest.
I’m very happy with the chair, and would recommend it to anyone else who’s on the fence about getting one.
For the record, I’m 5’8″, and weigh 10.5 stones.
Though took me longer than it should have to assemble, when I finally had, I immediately noticed how great it was. Build quality is amazing (making it incredibly heavy – recommend assembling on the floor you intend on using the chair..). Took a week or so for my posture to adjust to the chair but now my back pain which I’ve had for years is essential gone!
Definitely recommend!
So with the currently world situation a lot of people including myself are working from home and need to upgrade certain aspects of their office set up to make things more comfortable for themselves. I was one of those people!! being an avid gamer and seeing a lot of youtubers and reviewers brandishing leather clad gaming chairs saying how comfortable and brilliant they are I decided to buy one. (I wont say brand) worst decision I have ever made.
SOO fast forward a month and I now have this amazing chair. It is soo damn comfortable to sit in and is so comfortable. The adjustments and features that this chair brings at this price point is second to none I could not recommend this chair enough. A friend at my i.t. workplace told me about this chair and advised me to get the same so I did and I was NOT DISSAPOINTED ATALL!!
PROS!!! (theres a lot!)
Delivery estimate states roughly a month?… DELIVERED WITHIN 3 DAYS!!! perfecto!!
The height adjustments are awesome i’m 6ft and 17 stone. (embarrassing I know) buuutt this chair can support me and make me feel comfortable. Either way… I am at level height with my desk and with adjustments of the arm rests I am actually sitting where I need to be ERGONOMICALLY! which is where a lot of gaming chairs fall down.
The mesh style seat, back and head rest provide amazing air flow, hot summer working from home is not a good experience. This chair makes it sooo much better.. having and being able to feel the breeze through the window on my back is nothing less and lush!.
the lumbar support is easy to adjust . moves up and down and laterally so can fit any body shape.
the base and casters are strong and sturdy and glide even on carpet.
the tension spring in the seat for the lean back facility to stretch is great and makes a world of difference. IT makes it feel so Natural and doesn’t make you feel like you are sitting on a rock.
ITs an overall nice sleak and sexy design. The matt black curving plastic against the chrome features make this stand out and again I’m glad I purchased it.. I honestly love it.
CONS
I honestly cant really think of any…. I mean they even give you gloves in the box to assemble the chair so you don’t mark the chair when handling items. really well thought of.
I wish It came in a two toned black and white version… The seat mesh black with the plastic curving design in white. personally I think that option would be amazing. but that’s just my personal taste. ok I think I have rattled on enough.
Take away points.. I love this chair and I am so glad I bought it. I am not regretful and am so pleased. it really helps get through the day. Sitting for hours in a chair not made for its purpose was horrific. You wont be disappointed.
Chair was purchased for my son who has spent a lot of time over the last few months sat at his desk. He did lots of research on the best ergonomic chairs and the Sihoo came out on top, within the budget.
He assembled it, and he is extremely happy with his choice. Only had it a couple of days, but so far so good!
Very quick delivery too
I have endless back trouble and am spending a lot of time in front of the computer. My old office chair has died so I was desperate to get an ergonomic chair. It’s early days yet but so far I am particularly pleased with the endless adjustments that I can make to get it just right. The chair is well made, solid and of excellent quality with special attention to detail.
So, I had recently gotten a GTPlayer Gaming Chair (about 3 months ago) through a WFH Scheme from my employer, however, after a few days (!) it felt as if I’d had it for years, the cushion no longer cushioned anything, my tailbone hurt after a few hours, couldn’t get the back-rest to be adjusted comfortable, found myself repositioning every few minutes, so I desperately wanted a chair resembling what I had in the office.
After a load of searching, I stumbled across this SIHOO m57 model chair, after some research on Google, it seemed like this was “the one” (had to check brand’s reputation, reviews of the chair itself, legitimacy of the claims…). Finally bit the bullet last week Thursday (afterall, 300 is not exactly cheap) but boy am I glad I did.
The assembly was a breeze.
Firstly I was quite happy to find that this product was not only carefully packaged (contrary to the other chair, where everything kinda seemed like it was chucked into a box and shipped), but the instructions were clear, everything was properly labeled, and you get an Allan-key that didn’t ruin your hands trying to tighten the bolts. The threading for all the bolts was perfectly done and every bolt-type came with one or 2 spares. Same with the washers, plenty of them and clearly distinguishable which was needed for which.
I was able to assemble this in about half an hour, by myself.
The size and adjustability is ideal and the resulting comfort is phenomenal.
You can pivot the arm-rests, raise or lower them, slide them forwards/backwards.
The lumbar support is easily raised and the system for making the support more prominent or not is very well done.
The headrest was easily mounted (just slides in) and easily adjustable in height (handy if you’re tall like me, 1m86) and it even tilts, allowing you to find that sweetspot, whether you prefer neck or back of the head support.
The chair has a brilliant raising and lowering system, with a seating/back-rest tilt mechanism that rivals that of even more expensive models (like the ones we have in the office). Aside from that, you can also lock the tilt in place, once you’ve found the ideal seating position. If you don’t like it fixed, then you can simply leave it unlocked so that you can actually rock back and forth in the chair. The tilt-sensitivity is regulated by the knob on the bottom-front of the seat and I was able to quickly nail the ideal resistance.
The mesh-weave, for me, at about 80kg, has the perfect springyness and rigidity.
The looks are sober but the pattern in the mesh-weave spruces things up just enough.
In conclusion: If you’re looking for something easy to assemble, which is highly functional and comfortable but not too boring or overpriced, this chair will hit all those marks, and then some.
Really pleased with the quality and it was as comfortable as I hoped it would be. I have used more expensive chairs like Herman Miller at work – for the extra 800 it isnt obvious why you’d spend it. Although it appears the xhair came down in price by 30-40 after I bought it ……….but im pleased I got it in red before they appeared to stop offering that colour. Build the chair where you intend to use it. Even with the wheel assembly it is heavy.
This chair is very comfortable, quiet and feels sturdy and a solid build.
I am happy with it so far.
The mesh seems to be good quality and will hopefully last long.
I am 94kg and 180cm and I fit fine on it. I can even sit with both my legs crossed on it.
Tilting back feels good and the chair feels stable. The 2:1 asychronous tilt mechanism is good too.
you can also lock the chair at a specific tilt but sometimes it gets a bit stuck when you try to reset it to 0 degrees.
The headrest is also very adjustable and fits me well so far.
I dont like the plastic feel of the mesh but I guess I will get used to it.
The arm rests are indeed very adjustable. Only thing i would like is for them to go a bit lower so I can raise the chair higher but my knees are bending in an appropriate angle currently anyway.
Delivery:
I ordered this 3 days ago and was supposed to be delivered in a month but it just arrived today, so I am quite happy about this. They should look into this as I almost did not buy this as I did not want to have to wait for another month while I am working from home.
It comes delivered with all the necessary tools (including the allen key and gloves) and the screws +1 of everything that you need.
There were no major issues with the product I received but one of the sockets where the arm rest base screws in had the screw in the wrong angle so it took me a while to fix – not sure if someone else with fewer tools would have been able to fix this though.
I did not notice any issues yet with what I have received. One thing I would ask them to change is to put a ‘forward’ sign on the base to avoid doubt when you assemble it. Oh and attaching the back to the seat is probably a two-person job if you want to get it right the first time but could be done on your own too.
Got this delivered a few days ago. Was easy to put together. the chair is sturdy, supports my back and is comfortable. I also like that fact that the arm rests are adjustable vertically, horizontal, and they swivel for different arm positions. The head rest is also a welcome addition for when you just want to relax your neck for a bit.
Would definitely recommend.
I was in two minds whether to pay this for a chair but I am really pleased I did. The product is excellent quality, very comfortable and exactly what i wanted for working from home. The assembly takes around 20 minutes, an allan key with a handle and gloves were supplied to help with assembly. The instructions are very clear and it’s immediately obvious that the materials are high quality. The chair is quite heavy when building it so is probably easier if you have someone to help you. Customer service is excellent and friendly. If this is within your budget I would highly recommend.
The order arrived far earlier than expected, which was good.
The packaging was slightly distressed, but the contents were fine.
There was an issue with missing screws, but the company were excellent and supplied the missing screws within days, and given they came from China that was impressive
The chair was easy to assemble
The chair is exactly as advertised, and very comfortable.
I love this chair, as good as the flagship Herman Miller Aeron or the Steelcase Leap that we have at work (IMO), but a third of the price.
Also, arrived in 3 days not 35 days as initially advised at the time of ordering.
The chair is very supportive and sturdy.
The tilt can be either locked in one of three angles, or left to move where the tension is adjustable, providing a gravity free feel.
The lumbar support is adjustable up and down, and in and out.
The arms adjustable in three dimensions (up/down, tilt in/out, slide forward/back), plus a fourth dimension (slide in/out) using the bolts when assembling.
The headrest can be manipulated in multiple directions to your preference.
The material is strong and airy.
I am of reasonable stature and height, I find that it’s very supportive and adjustable to most people.
Highly Recommended.
The expected delivery date was just under a month but to my surprise i received it the next working day, it was well packed and had enough packaging to keep it safe during delivery.
It was very simple to assemble and took me around 20 minutes but most of that was reading the instructions a few times to make sure i set it up correctly and I also got slowed down on the arm rest, the only issue i found is holding the armrest in place with one hand while screwing in the screws with the other but once you get all 3 started and they stay in place by themselves then its much easier to screw them in while holding it. If you have two people it would be a breeze but its still totally manageable solo, you have the same issue but to a lesser extent when putting the back on but overall its very simple and easy to put together.
The seat, back, and headrest of the chair is tight mesh, im 6ft6 and currently over 105 kg and its very comfortable and sturdy. The back support is great and you can adjust the arms, back support, height, and headrest enough that its super easy to get really comfortable seating position and posture, I moved from a gaming chair i had for 3 years and this is way better in comfort and support from day one.
im really happy with the quality and build of the chair, even the gas powered height adjuster seems strong and sturdy and can hold my weight with ease without slowly giving up.
Very happy with the choice i have made.
Having had back problems for many years it became clear that I had to invest in something more supporting than a normal office chair. It may sound like I am making this up, but when I sat down in this chair I started tearing up because it had been so long since I’ve felt such support for my back.
I would suggest anyone to get this chair immediately.
The chair was delivered promptly and was easy to assemble. Took me about 30 mins on my own.
I have a bad back so have immediately appreciated the strong sturdy pushback of the chair and lumbar support it provides. it is clearly well built from strong plastic materials with a breathable mesh, so whilst i have only had it a short time, it looks like it will last a long time.
Purchased due to the increased amount of working from home. Plenty of options to adjust the chair and lumbar support is good, able to spend long periods at the desk with no discomfort. Only criticism is in regard to the bolts and threaded bolt holes used to secure the arms. These are not very good and its not possible to secure the arms as tightly as you would expect. Rather than frequently re-tightening the arms, ended up finding a couple of longer bolts and using them instead of the ones provided.
I have used this chair for a few weeks now and think I should give a review, hopefully it would help other people who are looking for new ergonomic chair.
I suffered with very bad pain on my right shoulder after I have worked from home for 2 months, so decided to buy new ergonomic chair to help. I looked around and did some research and decided to buy this chair as it had good review. Once received it, we checked the parts and instructions that came in the box, we were very happy and really impressed with the quality of materials. It was very easy to assembly. the chair itself is fantastic!! Very comfortable, I do not have back pain after spending long day on computer again. My shoulder pain has improved a lot. So far, I am very happy with the chair and would recommend this chair to my family and friends!!
I had a 100 very standard racing gaming chair for a while, I got into the habit of slouching whenever I was playing games or even when I wasn’t for very long periods of time, eventually I got used to that so I never noticed HOW uncomfortable my old chair actually was, but after getting this one I realised that I basically had NO support whatsoever.
At first I felt like this chair wasn’t comfortable, and that It felt awkward to sit in, but actually that was just because for the first time in years I had actual back support and was semi-forced into sitting properly. Overall I’m pleased with my purchase, I wish that I could lock the adjustable arms in place because sometimes when I’m trying to get up or re-adjust my position the arms slide out and I almost launch myself out of my bedroom window but I think more than anything that is just a matter of me needing more time to get used to my new chair, but yeah if you’re thinking about getting a new chair I do recommend this one, it also feels well built, if you don’t have the money then I ASSUME there are chairs out there that can come close to this one for less money but speaking as somebody to bought this one in specific, I really like it.
This is a great chair for the money. It cost significantly less than its competitors and offers the quality and comfort of the supposedly more premium chairs, like Herman Miller (and I’ve sat for long periods in HM chairs). Not only that but the chair arrived within a week after I placed the order with a scratch card for cash of $10. It’s still early days but the chair is all I hoped for (and more)!
There are many features and adjustments and the mesh seating and back rest offer comfort and cooling compared to what can be more ‘sticky’ and clammy situations with leather chairs, especially when sat for long periods and during summer heat.
I just wish I found this earlier as I had placed an order with another company for which was 50% more along with an additional month for delivery. The chairs appeared to be very similar and so I cancelled the initial one for this. I’m so glad I did as I was still waiting for refund from the first company after this chair had turned up. Great service from Sihoo.
Very easy to assemble, and included spare bolts and washers, and the required Allen (hex) key.
Good quality build, quite heavy and very sturdy.
Seat and back is a suspended mesh over a frame, making it comfortable, especially good in hot weather.
I bought two chairs for our study/spare room as I’d been getting a bad back and achy legs working from home – but no more. Have been working long stretches for hours and feeling pretty good at the end of it.
My only improvement would be to have the seat able to lean forward further as I like to sit quite upright – but I can adjust my seating position and still feel supported in my lower back.
After 3 weeks, I’m very happy I paid the money and bought a good quality chair.
I read quite a few reviews about office chairs before deciding on this one and I’m happy with my purchase. The chair is solid, well-made and with enough adjustments to keep anyone happy. The mesh back and seat keeps you cool in the summer and is comfortable to sit in. The difference from my old non-ergonomic chair is amazing. I feel less tired after a day at the computer and back issues are a thing of the past.
This chair has all the qualities of many more expensive chairs. I like the breathable mesh and it’s very adjustable. My one suggestion is to have some sort of locking device on the head rest height, if you put too much weight on it it drops. I have only had this chair for about two weeks so I can’t speak to its longevity but right now it’s the best desk chair I’ve ever bought!
Have this about 2 months now, use it every day, pleasure to work on for quite long hours. I also ordered rubber wheels for wooden floors so i am unfamiliar with the wheels the chair comes with. Very happy with the purchase, even prefer it to mu Herman chair in the office. I must say though, i paid 190 all in, its nearly an extra 100 now with shipping – i would certainly research alternatives given the new price etc. Anyway, nice chair!
The chair came a week befor expected delivery. I think a tracked delivery would have been good to know when it was coming . However it came in a good condition with all the parts. It took about an hour to build and it feels extremely comfortable. I like the various positions it has and it has helped me with my back problems especially in my upper back and shoulders. The headrest is not completely adjustable going towards my neck as I think that would benefit neck pain as I teach 7 hours everyday on a computer. However, it still does the job when you want to relax. I think the price needs to be 250.00 that more coincides with the features and quality of the chair. The mesh keeps you cool and the seat is nice and bouncy. Very comfortable. Overall, good buy.
I bought the slightly more expensive version which comes with mesh seat as well as mesh back. Easy to assemble and took about 15-20 minutes. Just a few screws to attach the few pre-assembles pieces together. A screwdriver tool, screws, and washers are provided. Simple and clear instructions. Literally everything needed was in the package.
The seat is very comfortable and feels solid. Very similar feel to much more expensive mesh office chairs I’ve used at work. No squeaks or rattles. Can’t fault it.
I’ve owned this chair for a few months now and wanted to use it for a while before I gave an honest review.
The build quality is very high, with everything feeling like it’s premium without the upper price tag. The seat is very comfortable and I can go for 12+ hours without any aches or pains, plus being a bigger guy the SIHOO handles my weight well. Overall, this is much better than the expensive office chair I had previously.
The headrest is a little wobbly, but that’s the only complaint I have. The wheel casters move about nicely on my carpeted floor. The arm rests are comfy and I’m impressed by how many positions I can move them to. The mesh seat has shown zero wear or signs of sagging (after some seriously heavy use).
I did have a problem after a few months of owning this – the gas lift started to fail, but after contacting SIHOO they quickly got the situation sorted, which I was very impressed by!
Simply put this is a good choice for anyone looking for a quality comfortable office chair, from a company that actually seems to care about the after sales service.
I ordered this as I needed a chair for working from home. When this arrived it was easy to assemble and is highly adjustable and I’m finding it very comfortable after 1 week of using it.
Customer service has been excellent and very responsive when I’ve had to contact them.
There was even a note in the package offering to send some face masks to help which was a lovely touch.
Good support to back and neck. Chair was eay to put together with supplied fixings and wrench. I found headrest loose but quickly fixed it with four spacers made from 4.8mm cable tie tails.
An excellent chair that was easy to assemble in no time at all and so far I’m very happy with it.
I researched a lot before buying – given that I’d be sitting in it for a whole day, I wanted something that was comfortable and would ergonomically support me.
The T3 best office chairs article had a good write about this chair and further research reinforced it.
It came with bolts, washers and an Allen key tool – even included spare bolts and gloves so that the pre-greased bolts don’t get you covered in grease – nice touch.
Chair comfort is excellent and a good range of adjustments in pretty much every direction needed.
(NEW) UPDATE: So I’ve had this chair for a while now and I’ve found it really is better than every single other chair at this price point – I know this because I have had friends ask me for a good priced chair around the same I paid and well… It doesn’t get any better than this one at all.
I’m changing this to 5 STARS! The company is making good strides into providing the best customer service possible, so even if you do run into an issue you can just email the company and they’ll take care of everything for you. I think this is going to be my “go-to” company for buying chairs from now on, easily. Their customer service and the actual chair itself is such high quality, you won’t find anything like it for the price charged.
Thanks 🙂
(OLD) ORIGINAL REVIEW: I’ve got carpal tunnel and ulnar nerve issues in my arm/wrist because of my constant gaming and university work. I needed a chair to be comfortable in and this is as close as it gets without spending thousands of pounds on a Herman Miller or Steelcase and let’s face it, no chair is worth thousands of pounds.
Positives:
– Great breathable mesh on BOTH the back and bottom, just like the Aeron chair (which I’ve replaced with this).
– Comes with a great headrest! Some companies would charge a lot of money for this.
– Very adjustable, not only the fully moveable armpads and height, but also the backrest and headrest.
– Comes with gloves! What a thoughtful thing, keeping our hands clean during assembly. Brilliant job guys! 🙂
– Small company, so they offer a lot of support and give you a direct email to contact them if you have questions.
– Very easy to set up. Don’t forget to use the washers when screwing.
Negatives:
– Armrests are still too hard and made out of the standard plastic they all use, only slightly softer. Pretty big letdown for such a nice chair. If they had good soft leather armpads (like the Aeron) it would instantly make this chair #1 on Amazon.
– They use quite a lot of plastic in packaging which I’m not a fan of. If they move towards replacing the plastic with paper/card, I would feel much better about supporting this company. Save the environment and you’ll have me as a customer for life.
This is still the first day I have for owning this. I ran into an issue where I couldn’t figure out how to lock the backrest again, but all you gotta do is push the height-lever in or out. Worked it out pretty quick but it should be listed in the instructions instead. I might look at this review again and change it, if the chair breaks quickly or has further issues.
I’ll let you guys posted every few months on the chair so keep checking back on this review.
I’m giving this a 4 out of 5. High priced, good value, good comfort but missing some key things.
Hope this helps. If you found this helpful, please hit the “HELPFUL” button below. It’ll really help me too. 🙂
I bought this as I work from home and have a scoliosis which gives me pain – as I’m getting older and less fit I can’t afford to ignore it, and skimp out on getting an ergonomic chair, so I finally bit the bullet and plumped for this one.
Looks: Really professional, the mesh has a little pattern on it which makes it look a little bit more interesting than just plain black, the chrome wheel base matches my bar stools in the kitchen which is a nice touch. I thought the chrome might look tacky and cheap but it actually looks really good.
Comfort: Mesh seat and back are soft and bouncy, and let my skin breathe, when you’ve got a deploy deadline and you know you’re going to be stuck to your chair for 10-12 hours it’s necessary. The arm rests are also slightly padded and you can move them further in or out, back or forward, or turn them on an angle. I use it for gaming sometimes too so it’s great I can adjust the arm rests.
Back Support: The adjustable lumbar support pad is amazing. I’ve seen many of these chairs online, namely the Ergo Chair 2. Some people have complained the padding isn’t enough and it digs into their backs, not with the SIHOO — it’s nicely padded and makes me sit up properly, supporting my back. There’s a lot of adjustment room, more than the dimensions suggest, so you can have it all the way in if you need. The head rest is sturdy, and comfortable – I didn’t realise how much I strained my neck without one of these and it’s adjustable.
Height: Goes up nice and high, as a 5’7 woman (not even that short) most chairs are unfortunately built for men, this is the first chair I’ve been able to get low enough to place my feet on the floor comfortably.
Build: Really great quality, very heavy and sturdy which is unusual as everything is normally cheap light crappy plastic which breaks.
Bonus points: Super quick delivery, assembly took about 20 minutes – you might need to get someone else involved to hold the seat and mechanism as it’s quite heavy. Loved the packet of screws which are laid out to allow you to clearly see if you have all the required parts – the gloves and Allan key with handle were a nice touch.
Very nice and comfortable chair.
I have taken half hour to assemble, it’s fairly simple but I have used a tutorial on youtube to show it step by step.
What can I say…
I have a very positive opinion bout it. It’s very customizable and it make it perfect for me.
I’m 1.65m tall and it’s good to me. I think it will be suitable for people up to 1.80m but if you are taller than that you should consider it.
It doesn’t have cushion it’s entirely mesh, very solid though. At least it is solid for me (I’m 60 kg).
rather than listing all the good things about this chair I give couple of defects:
– There is a little crackling noise when bending the back of the chair but it is fading as I use it.
– Armrest and headrest are are a bit wobbling but it really doesn’t bother during the usage.
that’s all
This chair is without doubt worth EVERY single penny I paid for it. Bought two for our home office, one each for my wife and I, and they arrived very well packaged with easy to follow instructions. Took me about 15 mins to build each one without any complications or confusion.
Once they were built I popped them into our office and did some simple adjustments to make sure everything was as we each wanted, this chair is so adjustable that it’s easy to get things like the lumbar support the right height and pushy-in pressure. The headrest is slightly wobby but I don’t notice it now it’s in place. The arms move in every way I need them to and the springy-ness of the recline funcion is great but once done to your tastes, can be locked in place.
I got two sets of caster wheels with it which is a bit weird, one set of black plastic ones and one set of chrome and plastic ones. The black plastic ones came in a box marked “for carpet” so these are the ones I fitted since we have carpet in our home office, I assume the others are for hardwood floors. The seat, in case anyone is wondering because that’s the bit that wasn’t entirely clear to me from the other very similar model Sihoo sell on here for about 50 quid less, is full mesh, as is the headrest. I think that’s the difference between the two – this one comes with lovely breatheable mesh seats and headrest, the cheaper one seems to come with a foam seat and fabric headrest. This version of the seat is way better for me – it’s easier to clean, breathes, and the seat will never get foam fatigue and sag.
There’s nothing I would change, full stop. They are a bit more pricey than others and I can’t comment on whether cheaper ones would be as good but after doing a lot of searching and reading I opted for these and cannot be thankful enough I did.
They are perfect. Buy them.
I had a small home office that I used occasionally, but changing my job meant that I could work from home a lot more. My previous chair was a very basic thing – didn’t even have armrests – and I would find that after a day in the home office I’d have terrible back pain. I assumed this was just the price of sitting at a desk all day (I’m quite mobile when I’m in the office).
Wrong! After a long day in the home office I spent the following day hobbling around massaging the small of my back, so I decided to investigate an upgrade to the chair. I avoided the “gaming” chairs as being overpriced colourful novelties. A review website mentioned the Sihoo so I thought it was worth checking out; the price was significantly lower than many other similar chairs.
I’m happy to say it was a worthwhile investment. I can work all day now without feeling awful the morning after. There’s a lot of options for adjustment, though the main thing it lacks (for me) is a forward-backward tilt option.I don’t have a full view of the office chair market but after having sat in a lot of them, including the vaunted Aerons, this seems like a great budget pick for the home office and I’m very happy with it.
It is good quality chair for my new home, we’ve been using it for a week now and have had no issues. The design of this chair is pretty good which make me so comfortabl, even sit for hours without any pain. The package is quite heavy when arrival but in a very convenient box. It’s very easy to assemble, I follow the instruction which make me easy set up in less time. Another brilliant design about this chair is we can adjust arms and headrest with soft cushion seat which make me so relaxed. Overall, its a nice purchased and better quality than my old one.
I work from home and finally got around to buying another chair, my old one hurt my lower back and no support for my neck. And it has just made a world of difference, it doesn’t squeak, it is made out of premium material, and has adjustable arm rest and head rests. It took less than a half hour to assemble. And Love the breathable mesh back, my back would often sweat after sitting in the chair for hours, now, it’s just a lot more comfortable.
