This is great for creating extra shade in areas that you may need it. Goes without saying that you need something to tie it onto to make it work, but in the right area it works perfectly.
This is a good quality sun shade, it doesn’t have any wall attachments that some other sails come with unfortunately so if you need them you will have to order seperatley.
Overall a nicely presented sail, with a carry case for portability, waterproof material and good stitching. Slightly let down by no finishing and loose treads on the ropes, but I had exactly the same experience with another sail from Amazon.
Really quick to install providing of course you have something to fix it to.
I’d describe the colour as a true neutral mid grey.
THis is a great quality sun shade. The shade itself is made of quality material, easily wiped, and feels substantial.
The tie ropes are great quality too which I wasn’t expecting but pleasantly surprised.
All round great quality, good size and great value.
It’s a right faff to get it up if your poles are not in exactly the right place and trying to get it tight would have been easier if our tether points weren’t stuck in position, but we got there in the end. It’s a nice sun shade and works well to cover our seating area. We needed to angle ours as directly overhead wasn’t working for us but every situation is different so your mileage may vary. Seems well made and robust and will fold up and stay in the shed after the Summer. Reasonably priced and good value too.
Lovely thick material. Gives good up protection. Easy to install. The cord included is of a good quality and holds up well under high tension. Fairly priced at 21.99
This folds down to a compact size and is easily transportable. The thickly woven nylon used is high quality and provides 100% waterproof protection from rain and filtration of all UV rays. The shade this provides is therefore comprehensive. You can obtain poles from camping shops or hardware stores. The fixings and rope are durable and well-made. The square is versatile and can be adapted to provide shade on a patio, whilst camping, on a beach up against a wind-breaker or as an add-on to a gazebo. We’ve even taken it on a yacht for when we’re at anchor and seeking shade.
The instructions are clear and its well packaged. It needs to be treated as temporary, but if erected correctly, shouldn’t require repositioning i the short term. Avoid windy conditions.
Really good quality and really easy to put up definitely a must buy if you’re in need of a product like this.
A sun shade but with a difference we are using it for our chicken area. With it being the right shape and waterproof seemed to be the ideal solution to keeping our chickens in the shade come sunnier times. Fittings are included with it for fixing to wall or wooden fence posts. So a few of these we actually used but if fixing to a wall or such can’t see it being that hard to do. Plus it doesn’t make any crinkle sounds like tarp can do.
I was really thrilled to be able to try this sunshade. We have a southfacing conservatory which gets VERY hot in summer. This is a really simple and inexpensive way to shade it. Most things are destroyed by the sun very quickly so i was not looking for an expensive solution.
I purchased some simple eyeplates and the attached the shade and it works perfectly.
The construction of the shade is nice and sturdy with reinforcement at the anchor points.
Very pleased. Ideal for my needs.
I’ve put this outside the back door and it looks smart. It is very good quality, light but heavy enough to be strong and stay taught.
You get a nylon rope/string for each corner (when does a string become a rope?) and there are sturdy rings on each corner which are not coming off. The sail has a join about a third of the way over one side which is straight and doesn’t seem to compromise the water proofing of it. The sides are all concave and so leave a gap so it doesn’t work well as a shelter over the door when it rains.
We are pleased with the look, it’s smart in grey, and feels like it will last. It feels and looks a lot better than the cheaper ones.
This is a very nice sun shade, I love the color. I have to admit that is well made and the quality looks nice to me.
The size is nice and covers well, looks resistant and the quality is good, I totally recommend it.
This is an extremely versatile bit of outdoor kit. It can be used as a sunshade, ground sheet or in decent weather, as a tent. It is just a waterproof sheet with some stakes and guy ropes but it is tough and of a good size. At first I was at a bit of a loss as to how to put it to use but with a bit of experimentation it becomes pretty self explanitory and the uses will present themselves. It is a little bit expensive considering how little there really is to it but for sheer usefulness it really is worth picking up
I got this as an additional privacy screen/sunscreen for my awning on my motorhome.
I was pleasantly surprised regarding the thickness of the material and quality finish. It was far better than I was expecting to be honest. The ties are very well sewn-in with strong stitching and woven reinforcement on all 4 corners.
The material itself has a really decent thickness to it and has a nice almost metallic sheen to it.
I fixed it up with my awning hooks and it worked a treat I didn’t want it to completely block out the sunlight and screen enough to give us a bit more privacy when we’re at the table under the awning relaxing/ having meals.
During my installation test when I laid it out unfortunately some birds did their droppings on it but reassuringly they appeared to wiped clean very easily and there was no sign of any stain etc.
It was just a case of threading the provided lashing rope through the hooks and tied them down with pegs. Job done very quick and simple.
It was also much cheaper to buy this than the tailor-made one for my awning which I feel is well overpriced for what it is.
I also plan to fix some sunshades fixings with a kit that I have over my rear patio which acts as a sun trap and gets unbelievably hot, this hopefully will create a good shade for that part. I will update this review when I’ve tested it for that.
In the mean time. I can’t really fault it it’s apparently also waterproof as well as UV resistant and as already mentioned looks very well put together. I can’t say much more other than very pleased with it.
It does the trick and at the price (23.99 at the time off the review) and the quality of material I think it is very good value.
This is an excellent shade sail, the material is a good quality and the stitching at the seams is done to a high standard. It is a very good size and will give quite a bit is shade on sunny days, it can also be used to act as a windbreak if you can anchor it down well enough. The sail has a steel ring securely stitched in at each corner and it comes with 4 x lengths of cord, so that you can secure it to posts, trees etc.
I’m very happy with this sun sail, it’s very well made so I’m confident that it will last for a good few years – happy to recommend it.
This is basically what it promises in the description – a good sized square of canvas, with a stainless steel ring at each corner. It comes with a length of rope to attach the loops to suitable anchoring spots.
This is about the perfect size for using as a awning in a small courtyard/patio area, or under a pergola or gazebo, but it’s really flexible and can be used in all sorts of places. It seems very sturdy and should last well, but beware in high winds, and try not to let it collect much in the way of rainwater, as this would probably case it to split.
Very good for the money and provides a welcome bit of shade from the sun.
The sun canopy is great to keep sun off your back when is very sunny.
The canopy is relatively easy to install; however you need to setup anchor points around your perimeter of your garden. This would involve a drill then tie the to rope to the metal rings and suspending the canopy.
I would recommend this canopy, water and sun protection
Pros
– Sturdy canvas
– Relativity easy to install
Cons
– Need to create anchor points, which needs drilling
Decent sun sail, nicely made all the way around with really solid metal rings for foxing it in place. 2mx2m is a fair size and gives a good bit of cover from sun, or rain. Ca be used over a hottub, paddling pool, sesting area. Grey colour looks nice and sleek as well.
The quality of this 2m x 2m waterproof sun shade is excellent. It is dust-proof, windproof, UV resistant, wear resistant and the corner rings are stainless steel and durable. It has curved sides to give it extra strength. The ropes come with it. Great value, easy to install. Looks really stylish. So many uses – great product.
The quality of this 2m x 3m sun shade is excellent. It is waterproof, dust-proof, windproof, UV resistant, wear resistant and the corner rings are stainless steel and durable. It has curved sides to give it extra strength. The ropes come with it. Great value, easy to install. Looks really stylish and can be used in many areas of the garden – great product.
Just what I needed for a recent day trip – something to provide a bit of shelter from a typical British spring day – not sunshine, but a shower of rain. I managed to adapt this to fit across the roof bars of the car, together with a couple of tent poles. An impromptu shelter whilst we picnicked next to the car.
The point is, this sunshade has plenty of uses. Being 2m by 3m in size, with a stainless steel ring in each corner, and 4 lengths of white nylon chord, it can easily be attached to a tent, over decking, between trees etc, all to protect you from the elements. I proved the waterproofness, but its grey colour also cuts out bright sunlight too to provide shade when required. Quick, simple and effective.
This is presented in a clear carry/storage bag and includes some nylon rope to help with hanging.
The sail is well made for the most part with good stitching along the strong seams and some very sturdy metal hoops for hanging. I say “for the most part”, as there are a handful of loose threads that are visible. At the moment everything is fine but over time these have the potential for getting snagged and may cause some fraying issues. This was my only concern with the sail.
The fabric allows some light to come through (see my photo of my hand behind the fabric), so it is not full black-out material.
I’m going to be hanging ours in the garden via some hooks on a brick wall, but I also plan to maybe try and hang it within our glass roofed conservatory to hopefully make it a little more bearable to sit in during the hot summer months.
I will use this to hang from above the patio doors during the summer. It’s a good quality sheet, tough and waterproof. It comes with all the fixtures and fittings to hang it up. It’s a good size and stretches well, great for keeping off the sun, and even protection from the rain. It comes with a small bag to store it in and has some simple instructions on how to put it up.
I’m really pleased with this outdoor canopy as it is square! Often these shades are triangular so it is great to at last to find a square one. The material is slightly on the thin side but this does make it lighter and it is still well stitched. The material does do the job effectively though. It is easy to affix to poles and take up and down in strong winds or heavy rain. It is great value at 23.99.
I’ve been impressed with this canopy as it was really easy to install and great to use.
The quality feels great for it does a good job at blocking out the sun keeping me cool underneath. It seems to have good waterproof properties and although it hasn’t rained since I’ve put it up, I did managed to spray some water on it with a hose and the water seems to run right off.
So far so good, and it does the job well.
Hope you found my review useful.
Really happy with this. Pretty easy to put up once you have the brackets to put them up.
This sun shade is nice quality material and will be a great addition to our awning to block the sun and provide shade to our dogs.
Perfect to keep the little one under shade when in the garde
This is a strong and decent sized sun shade that is the perfect size for my homemade cabana sun bed. The fabric looks good quality and the holes are reinforced which I think is important.
I have ordered some carabiners and fixings to properly attach it to the cabana, but for now have used the ropes that come supplied with it. I think it will make a difference during summer and I am pleased with the quality of it.
If you buy an attachment kit for this it’s an excellent sun shade for the summer. You can keep animals and children in the shade and eat your dinner without the sun beating down on you. The quality is excellent and comes with attachment loops on the corners.
The colour grey is a kind of medium shade.
I think it’s a good sail shade for the money.
This sunshade is quite good, it does block the sun’s rays but let’s a little light through so it isn’t pitch black.
Was simple enough to put up but the ropes could have been a bit longer.
Nice bag to pack it away again at the end of the season.
I got this to provide shade on my garden decking. I am still installing it and going to hang it from some floor anchored poles. It comes in a nice storage bag and the material and stitching are of a very high quality, it gives some confidence that this will last a good while and stand up to some strong winds. I will update the review once it has been installed, but so far a good quality product, that looks stylish aswell.
I am very impressed with the quality of nylon that this sunshade is made from. The nylon is a thick square weave that is highly water and windproof and has been stitched all around the edges and joined with double stitched seams. It will clearly withstand some serious pulling and punishment from strong weather.
AS a sunshade I found it to be effective and provides a cool grey colour that does not stand out or accentuate the light. Some might prefer brighter colours, but I find this one to be just right.
The term ‘SAIL’ is to be considered wisely, if you place this thing in the direct wind, it really is going to pull hard on the ropes and eventually damage the fabric and stitching. I found it best to situate the sunshade in a sheltered area of the garden, out of the direct wind. Also the way you erect the shade is important to prervent water from accumulating in the folds.
There are some small diagrams on the pack leaflet that indicate how to erect the shade, all of which show an angle of at least 20 degrees off horizontal to allow water shedding.
I’ve decided to use mine as a camping shade anchored to one side of our frame tent. IN good weather this will provide excellent shade and a place to prepare food and give a little shelter.
I am going to install this in my backyard. I found the fabric to be of good quality. I tested the water proof claim and it passed. So for those sudden rainy day between summer (we all know UK weather.. lol), is covered. I like the grey colour, it is subtle and not bright. The stitching is professional and seems strong. The metallic loop at each corner seems solid and long lasting, they are much better than fabric loops.
Overall a good Sun shade in nice sober colour.
Love this I already have one attached to my pergola and thought I could add another one to my shed area for more shade for the kids and myself I find sitting in the sun hard
I love the grey colour
It’s waterproof so on showery days you can still enjoy being outside it attached to my hooks so easy and can be moved around if needed
…like this one. The whole ‘sheet’ feels as if it will cope with anything thrown at it and should last for years.
It is both strong and it looks good when in use. We are using this as a ‘roof’ in our gazebo as we are both sensitive skin sufferers, and this does a grand job of protecting us from the harmful rays of our wonderful sun.
Price-wise, I feel it is spot own, not too cheap and not too expensive.
Recommended.
It’s great quality sun shade, well made with strong hoops attached and strings to hold it into other fixings (not included). Luckily I have special adjustable twisbuckles for wall mounts so it’s not a issue for me.
The sun shade is described as 2x3m and im quite surperised that the size is not smaller, like usually. My other sun shade in real jas smaller shading area as the end corners are included in total size. With this sun shade, the total size is more than stated so im pleased with that.
The fabric feels strong and should survive the average weather conditions. We should install it tilted so rain can slide down easily along with leaves or sand brought by wind.
All in all, I’m pleased with it, the colour and the quality.
Highly recommended.
Absolutely brilliant.
Comes with hooks on all 4 corners.
Dark enough to stop the sun.
Light enough to still allow some light through.
Strong enough to hold the weight of a 6kg cat !!
Comes with ropes to tie if required.
I think the pictures speak for themselves, excellent idea and good quality
I really like this sun shade, it’s big enough to cover our outside patio and it looks really nice. The fabric feels very premium and good and it blocks the sun nicely. It’s also very simple and easy to get down whenever you need to. Perfect!
very good quality, thick material, pretty much 100% opaque. The rings in each corner are also thick and strong and all the stitching is re-enforced. Looks like this will last years and take all sorts of weather. It comes with nylon rope ties, but I won’t be using those, I have metal clips in place already.
Really happy with this. The material is strong and very well made. It came with rings attached for easy hanging, and rope if you need it. You will need to purchase some fixing to secure it to posts or to walls. This is what I’d expect to have to do anyway, so it’s no bother to me. Fab value and just what I need to give us sunshade.
This is a good qyality canopy made from good quality waterproof material. I’m actually using this on one side wall of my gazebo with a curtain of fairy lights as a backdrop for me eating area. Great size and the ropes are nice and strong. They attach easily to the loops and hold the canopy tight Very effective and much nicer than the plastic looking ones
Hard to review if not used… but from first impressions it’s a thumbs up .. it comes in its own little zip bag( good luck getting it back in after use lol) the hook loops feels strong, and the rope too, just gave it a few tugs and the stitching feels strong enough, the material feel very durable hard wearing, where I intend to use it ( when the sun is at its height ) can get quite gusty sometimes wether it stands up to this kind of conditions remains to be seen, but feeling the quality I’m quite optimistic..
This sun shade garden sail is a good size to offer some protection from the sun during the summer. It comes with all the tie ropes needed to secure it, you just need somewhere to fasten it to. It has sturdy D rings to thread the rope through to fasten it down with; or you could use carabiner hooks, if you have them. The fabric has a slippery waterproof feel to it, so I think that it is waterproof, if you wanted to sit outside in the rain or you got caught short. It comes in a handy zip up storage bag so that you can pack it away and keep it tidy for the winter. Simple but effective, and so much cheaper than getting a gazebo.
