Personal Privacy Protection without Sacrificing Convenience
In order to protect Google / Facebook & other SNS accounts from being accessed, the S8 has a screen lock option for users to lock the screen when the car (car stereo) is not in their control (Valet Parking, or vehicle taken by others). An additional option (Unlock with Bluetooth) allows users to unlock the S8 screen once phone Bluetooth is connected automatically. You do not have to input the password manually to unlock the screen. Now, all you need to lock or unlock your S8 is just walk out of its Bluetooth range.
Online Product Protection Registration & Continuous System Software Update
Online Product Registration:
S8’s buyers can register the products purchased online in the AOCSS system (support.myatoto.com) and have the chance to get extended 180-days product protection (see details announced in the AOCSS system). System Firmware Update:

Display has great visibility.
Sound quality is good but occasionally a little quiet. I feel is just software/settings.
Features are incredible for this price range. Android device which can download any apps, connects to my home wifi when at home or Personal hotspot whilst driving for full internet access.
CarPlay works well with Spotify and maps connecting from phone to this device.
Maps has good GPS signal.
External antennas included for GPS and wifi.
I have recommended to friends.

I bought this unit to modernise my 2001 Honda CRV and its done a great job. Install was easy there were 3 different types of connection cables included in the box. I used one of the ISO type plugs and bought an adaptor loom specific for my car ($10 from local auto parts store) so I didn’t have to cut / solder any wires the whole thing was plug and play.
The interface is very fast and crisp its like using a modern android tablet. The boot up time is super quick as well it fires up basically as soon as you turn the key. I mainly use it for the apple carplay functionality and also the inbuilt radio. Another cool feature I found also was you can adjust the colour of the lighting on the buttons to match the interior of your car so the whole thing appears more integrated.
The sound output is good even though I’m using the OEM speakers still, it sounds better than when they were driven by the factory head unit. Next upgrade will be some better speakers and add on the reverse camera!
Loving theATOTO S8 Standard S8G2A74SD installed in a MitsubishiColt 2004 very easy to install looks nice and clean installed.
manyoptions to install the unit into the car as it has many brackets & cable options.
for my install I use the ISO B cable that came with the unit to a ISO Cable to Car Harness cable I pickup locally from supercheap auto due to the age of the car.
Wireless Android Auto works great once updated using a Pixel 4 XL
very minor problems.
Getting the update firmware is a bit of a task withQR codes etc would be nice if it was all just an easy to use website.
ATOTO S8 Standard S8G2A74SD supports Wireless Android Auto once update would be nice to see a way of choosing between two devices on what phone gets broadcastedto the ATOTO but unsure if this is just how wireless Android Auto works.

Passt mit minimalen Anpassungen am Metallkorb absolut Problemlos in einen Seat Ibiza 6J, mit einem Dremel in weniger als 5 Min erledigt. Und das allerbeste selbst Lenkradfernbedinung funktioniert auf Anhieb, Canbus Daten werden korrekt ausgelesen. Knnte zum Jetzigen Zeitpunkt absolut nichts negatives ber das Gert sagen!

Arrivato in un giorno, collegato e funziona alla grande. Mi ci voluto pi tempo per smontare autoradio vecchia che per installare Atoto S8. Possessore di una Volkswagen Golf anno 2012, non ha problemi con comandi al volante, funziona tutto egregiamente. A questo prezzo difficile trovare di meglio. Installato accessorio Obd2 e radio Dab+ si collegano in un attimo e funzionano che una meraviglia. Assistenza al
Rapporto qualit prezzo veramente elevato. Installata sul mio camper Fiat Ducato senza alcuna difficolt. Dopo una settimana di utilizzo giornaliero posso ritenermi pi che soddisfatto dell’acquisto. Qualit del suono veramente ottima, interfaccia con l’utente veloce ed intuitiva. Avere un’autoradio con sistema Android oggi rende tutto pi facile e veloce, dalla navigazione alla riproduzione di audio e video.
Al momento pieni voti sia all’assistenza ATOTO che ad Amazon per la spedizione veloce come sempre.
I’m very impressed with this head unit; I’ve used Android head units in the past from other manufacturers and this Atoto unit blows them away. The head unit is fast, feature rich and expandable; as it’s an Android unit, you can use apps from the Google play store, or other APKs you want.
Installation:
Installed into a Honda Cr-Z. This was generally easy but somewhat time consuming for me; I ordered the wrong adapter harness for my car as I had a factory amplifier installed so had to spend some time crimping / soldering connectors to make it work. Make note, if you have a factory amplifier in your car you need the “amplified” version of your car’s harness which has RCA connectors on it to connect to the head unit pre-outs (otherwise the audio signal with be amplified by the head unit as well causing static noise).
Features:
– Fast. This unit is very responsive, apps load quickly and navigating through menus is seamless.
– It just works. Everything in my car works with the correct adapters / wiring. The steering wheel controls are mappable in the head unit so you can even change what they do by default, useful.
– It’s Android, you can install / use pretty much whatever app you want on your head unit.
Would I buy this unit again? Yes, yes I would.

Es excelente, funciona sin lag. Para el uso que le doy que es Spotify y Waze va muy fluido. Android auto funciona sin problemas a travs del USB.

Hasta que no lo enciendes no te imaginas lo que estas instalando. Muy fcil de montar. Y calidad extrema en todo.. Imagen, sonido, componentes, etc.. Y adems recomiendo unir al equipo la Cmara trasera nueva de atoto. Es una pasada total… En resumen que verdaderamente una vez en marcha te cuesta mucho bajar del coche

*Had some initial problems with loud volume from the radio app compared to volumes for everything else, found that the volume gain setting was not working properly in the hidden setup menu. An update from Atoto fixed this
*Just installed the latest update which has fixed night mode in Android Auto and the unit now dims properly when the head lights are on
*The hidden menu and password should not be hidden, there is some important settings in there like volume gain
*Make sure you get the serial number off the back of the head unit before installing it, it’s not on the box and you need it to register the head unit
*The time widget displays the date in the wrong format for my region (New Zealand)
*There is no bluetooth music widget
*The bluetooth music app is terrible in appearance but works well (has a sine wave), could be made to look a lot more professional
*Would love a spotify App like my old JVC, was a fantastic feature but probably not possible
*The unit has no other bugs that i have come across and is a solid performer
But here’s the game changer, i now use a device called AAWireless with it (Android Auto Wireless). It works really well but did take a little tinkering to work, the Android Auto interface is polished and almost perfect, giving me everything i want in a head unit. Makes the head unit absolutely awesome!

First the good… Installation is fairly straightforward in a double DIN bay. Initial set-up is also straight forward.
The Good….
Radio Reception (once RDS is turned on)
Telephone connection via Bluetooth.
Call quality
Overall Sound quality.
Google Maps
Google Mail
Remote wheel connects well and is easy to use (not included)
Wide array of apps available in play store
The Bad….
DAB Plus Receiver is very slow to start (not included)
Head Unit freezes and needs to re-boot. (This happens a lot) Twice the only way to restart was by disconnecting the car Battery.
SD cards are not always found. (after re boot available again. This I tested with several different types and manufacturers. All are the same)
Wired Apple Play and Android Play very sluggish. (Tested iPhone 12 and 13 Pro, Samsung S21 and S22)
The Ugly….
Apple wireless car play constantly disconnects and is unusable.
Included Media player looks and behaves like WinAmp on a Windows 95 Computer.
Included app launcher (User Interface) Very old school looking and sluggish.
Many re-boots and freezes. (Gets annoying, especially on a long journey.

For the price I was expecting more. When it works and with different apps installed it could be good. But the re-boots, not finding SD cards, slow DAB start etc and totally abysmal CarPlay mean I would not recommend this unit.

Emma contacted me daily to run through the different issues I was having.
First a firmware update. Here the link was sent to me via email. After installing the update I noticed straight away that the unit was more responsive. Also Apple car play and Android play now both work seamlessly. The freezing and re-boot issues were also gone. The display was more responsive and the GPS found satellites almost immediately from a cold start.
My issue with SD cards and USB devices was still there though.
First testing in car with as USB tester I found that the voltage to the USB would randomly drop to 1-1.2 volts. After a re boot the voltage was back to normal.
Atoto Support offered to refund me or replace the device at this point. Hmmm, the Engineer in me didn’t want to be beaten. In conjunction with Atoto support I removed the unit from the car and carried out a 3 day laboratory test. (I know this is not possible for most people, but we the facilities at work).
Here with nothing connected, not even speakers etc and connected to a Laboratory PSU, the same thing was happening. A random drop of the 5v. (Tested at the rear USB Connection).
Next step was that I opened the unit up (Atoto support were informed). I then tested every circuit, connection, ELKO, Transistor etc to see where the possible fault could be.
Firstly I have to say the quality of the components etc is fairly high, but what I did find was 2 cold solder points where the USB plug connects to the logic board. This of course can, but shouldn’t happen in any manufacturing process.
After re soldering the 2 pins and further bench testing the voltage drop problem was cured. I then re fitted the Unit to the car with everything connected, still no problems. DAB and SD now work as they should.
After installing Power Amp and DABz it has become a good unit.
Impressive is that Torque is pre installed and works fantastically. Also the Atoto reversing camera is of great quality.
Summery of what you need to make this a great Unit.

Nice bit of kit but I assumed all versions included memory card access through the marked slots – sadly not. Wish I had known before installing – would have purchased the Premium 10.1″ version if I had.

Der Stellplatzfinder von Promobil funktioniert logischerweise auch. Nebenbei habe ich noch RTL+ getestet. Geht auch. Radioempfang ist gut, der Sound auch. Werde jetzt noch Microsoft Office installieren. Bin gespannt ob das auch reibungslos funktioniert. Aber wenn das Teil streamen kann sollte das wohl was werden. Inizio con il dire che alla prima accensione la prima cosa che ho pensato stata: WOOW, il display assolutamente fantastico, alla pari dei migliori tablet in commercio per definizione, luminosit e contrasto.
Fluido e preciso al tocco.

L’ascolto: premetto dicendo che il mio impianto stato montato da un installatore professionista, composto da un tre via anteriore sulle portiere un due vie su quelle posteriori, un sub nel vano bagagli.
Ho fatto montare un amplificatore 5 canali quindi non sfrutto l’amplificazione dell’autoradio ma solo la sezione pre.
Al primo ascolto non nascondo che ero deluso ma soprattutto preoccupato. L’audio non si avvicinava nemmeno lontanamente a quello che mi aspettavo. Sono stato tentato di far smontare tutto e rispedire indietro, ma ….. ho cominciato a giocare un po con l’equalizzatore e ho capito subito che meritava pi tempo per il settaggio. Ho messo in riproduzione da youtube una sezione di rumore rosa e ho scaricato sul cellulare un app per analizzare lo spettro sonoro, ho regolato prima l’anteriore poi il posteriore poi una verifica globale, il tutto cercando di ricreare la stessa curva del rumore stesso. Ed ecco il miracolo, il suono diventato WOOW. In assoluto un bellissimo ascoltare, quando arrivo a destinazione rimango quasi sempre un po in macchina ad ascoltare qualcosa. I bassi sono profondi, caldi e frenati. I medi piacevoli e mai stancanti. Gli alti presenti ma mai invadenti. Per cui il mio consiglio assolutamente perdete tempo nella regolazione delle impostazioni audio. Anche la correzione temporale ha effetti evidentissimi in peggio o in meglio. Nel dubbio provate prima a disabilitarla.
Comparto audio per me ***** 5 stelle +.
Unico appunto per cui credo possa migliorarsi il brand la staffa di sostegno che nel mio caso non compromette la valutazione finale in quanto si tratta di un fuoristrada ma su un autovettura potrebbe essere poco carina da vedersi.

As I write in the title it has very good quality sound and responsive touch screen using from November 2021. It has the ability to work with Universal steering keys as well as the factory ones without the need for an adapter (Colt Czt 2008).
-Gps & Wifi work without disconnects.
-Internal emory could be a bit more 🙂

Erst mal unser Gesamt-Fazit: viel Leistung, viel Technik fr wenig Geld! -> empfehlenswert!
Die Lieferung kam prompt, so dass ich recht schnell mit dem Einbau beginnen konnte – dieser hat sich auch ohne Probleme erledigen lassen. Die Kabel sind alle Beschriftet und es gibt unterschiedliche, je nachdem was bentigt wird.
Die Bedienung des Radios ist eigentlich selbsterklrend und einfach – der Touchscreen reagiert recht schnell und scheint (jetzt nach lngerer Testphase) sehr unempfindlich zu sein.
Der Klang des Radios ist sehr gut – fr etwas mehr Bass habe ich einen Subwoofer installiert der sich ebenfalls vom Radio steuern lsst.
Die Lenkradfernbedienung ATOTO AC-44F5habe ausgetestet, funktioniert – sehr gut. Dadurch kann ich das Radio aus dem hinteren Bereich bedienen.
USB, MP3 und Video funktionieren auch sehr gut und ist leicht zu bedienen. Die Anfangslautstrke bei Radio war, nachdem starten des ATOTO S8 Pro, sehr Laut.
Nachdem ich den Service von ATOTO diesbezglich kontaktiert hatte wurden mir die Mglichkeiten aufgezeigt womit ich dann das “Problem” lsen konnte.
Der Service von ATOTO ist Hervorragend jede Frage wird sehr Zeitnah beantwortet und ist immer Zielfhrend. Fr den Service allein wrde ich schon 5 Sterne geben! Auch gibt es im Internet ein Portal in dem auch spezifische Fragen beantwortet werden.
