Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI grow lots of tropical plants such as Nepenthes and Monsteras, and it is really important to maintain the right temperatures and humidity. This pack of 4 TAKSHO thermometers and hydrometers are not bad considering the price of 9.98 (at the time of review in June 2022). They come in a clip bag, and inside the clip bag, each meter is in a plain cardboard box. On taking them out, they are already working as the battery is preinstalled, which is a shame as you’ve no idea how long they have been operating and how much the battery is drained. It would have been better to have the batteries, not in use, but that is a minor gripe.

Although much of the manufacturer’s images used on Amazon are showing readings in F, the ones I received are set to C, which I prefer. They don’t come with any waterproof probes, instead, they have little vents on the side that test for heat and moisture. They appear to be nearly as accurate as my professional temperature and humidity units which cost a heck of a lot more money. I, therefore, think that for a hobbyist who doesn’t need 100% accuracy nor wants to spend too much money, these could be for you.

For the price this is a very good set of 4

When I first saw these “4- , , , , , – ” from “” advertised for only 9.98 I thought that even if only a couple of them were fairly accurate then I’d be onto a winner. It’s like Segal’s law, which is an adage that states: ” . .” So when I got them I set them up beside an expensive thermometer/hygrometer I have & three of them were on the money with one being fractionally off.

They arrive in individual little white cardboard boxes, all contained within a zip-lock style plastic bag. There no instructions but they are ready to go straight from the box as each has its 2 x LR44 fitted [The Amazon page say that each requires 4 x LR44 batteries, but if you actually open them they only hold 2]. [ 44 76, 76, 13 . 44 ]. So depending on when these were first fitted about 18 months of run time can be expected. The battery compartment is accessed by sliding open the cover on the rear of the unit.

There is no control or set up. The screen takes up most of the front of the unit, of the screen is given over to relative humidity which is shown as a percentage. Humidity Range: (10% ~ 99%RH); Humidity Deviation: 5%RH. (Measures conditions every 10 seconds). The remaining is for the temperature in C. Temperature Range: (-50 to 70C); Temperature Deviation: 1C. Some reviewers complain that you can’t change from Celsius to Fahrenheit. I’ve been saying for years that very few places still use Fahrenheit so why pander to them. Countries and territories that use the Fahrenheit scale are the United States, the Bahamas, the Cayman Islands, Liberia, Palau, the Federated States of Micronesia, and the Marshall Islands. Why add complexity & cost to a device for about 4.41% of the world population?

The black plastic body is obviously designed so that the unit can be clipped into a thin flat surface, but it can happily sit freely on any small flat surface.

I’ve used the three most accurate ones in areas where I’m keen to maintain a set temperature & humidity

The first one I set into a small square I cut from the plastic lid of a large box I use for proving dough. Its been doing a great job at this.

The second I have sitting being kept in place by some Blutac on a door in the main fridge. I often use this fridge for projects like curing meats

The third is now built into the lid of my food dehydrator.

The forth is built into a sprouting jar I use for sprouted grains & micro-herbs.

All are doing a great job so far. Better than I expected & for a total bargain of 9.98.

Just the thing to keep track of the temperature differences across different rooms around the house. Means we will be able to set radiators at the optimum levels to keep the house warm while keeping the central heating bills as low as feasible. The units are discreet and as far as I can tell give accurate readings. The display on the units are easy to read too, so no squinting required. A very good investment.

I use these in my houseplants to check the temperature around the plants as they are from warm tropical countries I don’t want any of them to die so I adjust the humidity by using humidifiers if the temperate isn’t correct for them in the corner.

It’s also good just to be sure and at one point I used all of them in the same corner and it was the same temperature, these are very accurate! And you recieve 4 in a packet so I really think they are amazing value. They haven’t broken and I’ve been using them for weeks now so I really trust these, they were very easy to start working and very reliable.

I’m using this temperature and humudity meter to check the humidity in the plastic box where I keep the filament for my 3D printer.
So far it works fine and the value it’s fairly accurate compared to the more expensive meter I use for lots of other reading for the house.
At this price, I think they’re definitely worth it.

These are self-explanatory, really. Small square digital thermometers with humidity measurement as well. They are powered by four button cells, and were running when I unpacked them. There are no controls. I don’t think you can even change from Celsius to Fahrenheit. They are small and not illuminated, so you might need to change position to read the display. Just place in a suitable spot. These versions don’t have external probes. The batteries can be replaced. In my experience, this type of device will run for a long time on a set of batteries.

This set of four temperature and humidity measures are small and neat. The temperature is in small figures on the top right-hand side, with the % humidity in large letters.
I find they are fairly accurate to within about 3 degrees, as putting three side by side in the same environment gives different readings by that amount, but they give a good idea, even if not exactly precise.
I keep one in the bedroom and one in the kitchen and they do change every few seconds, so that i# really helpful in maintaining the temperature I prefer. They could be really useful for on a greenhouse, etc.
Very reasonable cost for a pack of four.

They take two LR44 batteries each (included). It was odd they were working on arrival so don’t know how long those batteries have been working. May mean early replacement needed, they should put a tab in to keep them non operational till you want them. They are smaller than I thought probably the size of two AA batteries. Overall they are a good price and do a good job so I would recommend

This pack of 3 Temperature/Humidity Meters as miniscule just 4.9×2.9×1.5cm and have a small 3.6×1.7cm LCD screen, weighing in at 0.7oz each. Come complete batteries already installed and as these are the small LR44s are cheap and easily sourced. Placed in different rooms they are all giving out different readings so assume that they are working correctly. Due to their size they can be placed absolutely anywhere and during the hottest summer months I will have one in the car so we can make sure the car is at a decent temperature for the dogs.

The temperature and humidity meters come individually boxed with the batteries fitted and working. Batteries are 2 x LR44 accessed through a sliding hatch on the back; battery life is given as 18 months. These are small panel mounting meters designed to click into a rectangular aperture. The display is clear and bright and accuracy for humidity and temperature seems good. Although the meters can be free-standing we found that a strong magnet was capable of holding them in position due to the metal of the batteries, (this would allow the meter to be easily removed and the batteries to be changed in due course). We currently have one in the greenhouse and one in the garage. Useful.

This 4-pack of digital hygrometer / thermometers is reasonable value at around nine pounds currently from Amazon — with each device at about two pounds twenty-five apiece. The larger reading is percentage humidity and small shows the temperature — each reading seems fairly accurate with temperature within one degree Celsius and humidity within a couple of percentage points of known correct measurements. The two LR44 button cells are already fitted — but there is no insulating tab so the devices are working and the batteries will be partly exhausted on arrival. These displays could be useful in a number of locations and they are OK for what they offer at the price — I would have preferred the larger reading to be for temperature but the design of the LCD display doesn’t allow for this; four stars.

I always use a humidity meter in my living room and it has seemed to be accurate for all the time I have used it, and it is especially valuable to show when I need to turn on a dehimidifier. I was therefore interested in comparing this product with the one I most used to.

Each thermometer is packed in a plain white box, batteries are already inserted and I just had to push the panel at the back to the + section for them to be up and running. I was surprised by how small they are, as you can see from my own pictures, but the displays are easy to read and the small size means they can be placed in an inconspicuous location.

Within a minute or so the living room one showed almost idential measurements to my larger model. I found that to be very pleasing and suggested to me that the small size of these does not impair their performance. I have now placed them around my home in the areas where I would often use guesswork when placing the dehimidifier.

Although small, they do seem quite sturdy. The seller suggests the battery life will be around 18 months which is pretty good, and the size of the batteries required are easily available.

High humidity is not good, especially in homes. It can encourage damp which will lurk behind furniture and in wardrobes, and it can adversely affect people with various chest illnesses. This little set can make a big difference.

Priced at 8.99 including batteries already inserted for a pack of four, I find that to be really good value. I have regularly checked each one since turning them on and comparing them with my much larger model and all seem to be working just fine with a fair degree of accuracy which is more than adequate for everyday use.

I always use a humidity meter in my living room and it has seemed to be accurate for all the time I have used it, and it is especially valuable to show when I need to turn on a dehimidifier. I was therefore interested in comparing this product with the one I most used to.
