Really likes it got it straight out if the box and plugged it in and worked
This is a good driving wheel that would work with multiple consoles. The only down side is that the peddles may ware out over time with the sensors because the sensors for the peddles are not secured and will make it feel aml miss or hit with the throttle. Make sure you open it up and hot glue the sensors then use it.
After enjoying the PXN V900, I thought the V9 would be a nice upgrade for playing ETS2, ATS, city car driving and various other driving/racing games.
The wheel itself is almost identical to the v900. Personally, j like it. The 900 of rotation make it excellent for driving sims. Being able to toggle it from “sim mode” to “racing mode” is a really nifty feature. You can also set the limit and sensitivity of the wheel using the wheel itself, which I found to be convenient when using it for more arcade racing games.
Obviously there is no force feedback with this wheel. But also worth pointing out is the noticeable jolt you get when the wheel returns to the center.
The wheel and shifter clamp to the desk easily. Though the clamp on the shifter is shallow. It only just fit onto the edge of my desk.
The pedals are good, though they all have the same resistance. They feel fine in use, though I’d avoid using them bare foot or in socks, as the metal plates on the pedals might snag on the fabric or scratch you.
The shifter is good – it does the job. It’s the main reason you’d pick this up for the price. It feels ok despite being made mostly of plastic. The stick slips into gears nicely and has a definite click when engaged. However, due to its size, I often found myself thinking I’d put it into 5th or 6th when I’d really only put it into 3rd or 4th. The two switches on top for high/low gears and parking break are reachable when you have your hand on the gear stick.
Setup was a breeze on pc. Plug it in and it’s on Xbox/xinput mode. Hold the mode button down for 3 seconds to switch to good old fashioned direct input. You don’t need the app to set the wheel up. Do be cautious that some games don’t recognise the shifter the way they should. For example, in GTR2 (I know, an oldie but a Goldie), the neutral position isn’t mapped, and there’s no obvious way to map it. When it works, it’s tremendous fun. I tested it in The Crew, ETS2, City Car Driving and GTR2 so far, and it works a treat. I even used the V900 in GTAV and it was great fun.
Not a clue how it works on consoles. I don’t own any. I just have a gaming computer.
The V9 is a good budget wheel for people just dipping their toe into racing and driving Sims. If you can get it while it’s on sale, I’d say that it’s worth it.
