Physically a compact printer and flatbed scanner which works well.
The firmware and PC software is impressive. Presumably derived from or the same as that used on Lexmarks large workgroup printers. Much better than I was expecting.
Many of its facilities I will not be using. Faxing, sending scans by email, …
I downloaded the Universal v2 XL Print Driver, ScanBack utility and (comprehensive) manual from Lexmark’s support site.
Downsides (which cost it a star)
Strictly single sided scanning.
Minimal supplied paper documentation (though I have not checked the CD).
First the drawbacks:
It is difficult to set up scanning if you don’t know how networks work.
It sometimes “forgets” it is the default printer and you have to reset it on your PC.
The default “Print Scan Log” is really annoying as I’ve been unable to override this function on the system. I have to remember each time I scan to switch this log off, otherwise it wastes paper.
The printer cartridges are only available from Lexmark and are expensive if you do loads of printing.
Although the printer is duplex, the ADF is simplex and needs each page inserting separately if doing 2 sided copying.
Now the good things:
Print quality is excellent
Copier and scanner quality are also excellent
It really does do exactly what is says it can do and does it very well.
So, if you are a bit technically minded, looking for a small footprint MFD with excellent quality outputs in small numbers, it is thorough recommended. If you need larger volumes of double-sided copying/scanning or really cheap print cartridges, there are better options at higher prices. As always, you get what you pay for.
This is an outstanding printer and scanner! I was overdue an upgrade to my old, slow printer and with the children at home constantly needing work sheets printed off and scanning back, this is a life saver and makes it all a lot easier to manage.
The printer comes with a cartridge and is so easy to set up, no complicated installations, I’ve plugged this in next to my computer on my desk and with the cable plugged in my PC recognised it straight away and within a couple of minutes I was doing my test sheet!
The printing is fast and effortless and consistently good quality, it has settings which allow you to adjust it to your preferences. The scanning also works well and the printer connects to wi-fi and makes it easy to send my children’s worksheets to the teachers to saves us trying to take a photo of their work on our phone to send!!
The starter cartridge included can print around 700 pages which is more than enough for us during this lockdown homeschooling period. The printer tray can hold 250 pages which saves on constant refilling of the tray.
Amazing printer, we’re looking into some good value toner cartridges to continue use once we’ve used it up and can definitely recommend!

Item arrived safely and came well protected in a large cardboard box.
Setup was one of the easiest I’ve ever had with a printer; I plugged an ethernet cable into it, clicked on “Add a printer” in the Windows 10 settings menu, it found it and installed it with no issues ready to use straight away. I also tried the built-in Wi-Fi by adding my network settings using the touchscreen on the printer and it worked perfectly with my computer quickly finding it again.
The printer and scanner both work perfectly including being able to send a scan straight to your computer or email from the printer directly. It prints at a very high speed and once I had upped the print darkness in the settings the print quality was excellent.
For a small office or home printer I think for the money this is an excellent package with some really good features built into it, the printer is a nice size, it’s easy to use and it looks smart for what it is. The toner cartridges are a bit expensive, but you do get up to 3000 pages from them and the cartridge is easy to install and you can recycle them.
I’m very happy to recommend this printer and I feel its worth the full five stars, Lexmark have made an excellent printer!
For the price this is undoubtedly excellent value. I have another high end expensive printer that doesn’t do half the things this one does.
Print, copy, scan and fax, though the latter is little used these days but we’ve bought fax capable printers for decades. Nowadays mostly to write to a close older relative that loves the kids sending him personal letters and drawings on his preferred method of communication, especially during the Covid crisis.
The automatic duplex is a dream to operate, this is one feature our last printer didn’t have, we sacrificed it in order to get a printer at that time, at a “good price”.
It’s great to be able to print on both sides once again, and without having to manually adjust the feed tray each time. For us, this makes it more environmentally efficient as we hate to waste unnecessary paper.
With it’s ability to print 34 pages in a minute and scan a rapid 23 pages, makes it a breeze to use in the home office environment, that we, like many are learning to adjust to in this tumultuous time.
The compact design, the touch pad display, the swift connectivity across the board, our Macs, PC, tablets and android; makes bringing work home, an easy adjustment and doable it’s at-home footprint.
All I need to do now, is to find a good set of compatible toner cartridges here on Amazon to cut the overall cost during the lifetime of this excellent feature-full printer.

I’m really loving this printer, it’s a fantastic update to my old one.
This one was surprisingly easy to set up, it’s very compact and just slots into the free space i have next to my monitor.
It’s very fast at printing and i can’t fault it one bit, it’s top-rated!
To say it is a 4 in 1 I didn’t think this took up much desk space, the copy and scan features work well as does the fax, print wise it’s great for my letters and postage labors, I’m not a power user but I print enough to make use of a printer of this nature, all In all it’s a very high quality unit and ai have had zero problems or issues.
This was the easiest unit to set up.
Nothing complicated, very straight forward and the size is great for my home
I had it up and running within five minutes.
Checked the copier, scanner and both work.
Seeing how set up was I have no fear that it will work.
Touch screen works and is easy to read.
Excellent quality printer, prints really quick and is clearly designed for a heavy work load
Would be an ideal printer for a small office, or if you print a lot at home
I think it’s priced well!
