I had been researching tirelessly and eventually settled for this item. I’ve had mobile air conditioner products in the past but this item, which only works on ice/water is an amazing product. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it is to start. Simply freeze ice packs, insert batteries in remote, and top up with water and voila. I was so impressed, I bought two. At just over 100 it’s a snip to what a mobile air conditioners cost and its effective at cooling my lounge easily. I’m so happy.
This is a brilliant fan had it delivered unpacked it and had it working straight away keeping me cool
This cooler is better than the 1 I bought before. Honestly, its quiet and does its job properly, bought this in a store for 70 but for the value of 100, its worth it I’m satisfied
It’s great fan, love it’s features and controls. Although, how do I use the humidifier option? It states in the description its a humidifier, yet there is no setting for this. Unless I’m having a blonde moment?
I was apprehensive buying a cheaper air cooler and didn’t know if this would just blow hot air around like most coolers around this price bracket. I am so glad I went for it and bought this item, it is SO good, very powerful and actually gives out COOL / VERY COLD air. The water tank system lasts ages aswell, i am using this in a large shop and the air can be felt at the very back of the shop. It has saved me 5K on built a in air con system.
HIGHLY RECCOMEND
I will certainly advise everyone to buy this. It’s a lifesaver!! But for over 100 it seems a bit excessive in price when you can get it at ASDA 60 + 4.95 with next day delivery.
I didn’t know this but it basically blows slightly colder air than the air you have in the room at the minute. It’s not like a normal fan that actually blows cold air at you which….I was not expecting. I saw the area to put the ice packs and legitimately thought that was just to make the air even colder (temporarily, until the ice pack stopped being icy). Other than that and the fact that it stops on its own during the night (even though I’ve specifically asked it multiple times not to) there are no downsides. And yes, this is with the timer function turned off.
I can’t wish more for the coming hot summer days then this freestanding tower fan. It has all the basic functions a fan must have and on tip of that is features with extra timer and aroma function.
The fan itself is over a meter high and has a very modern but also minimalistic design. On the bottom there is a 30cm wide stand which helps the fan to stay in position nice and secure even when it blows the air on high blast and the oscillation is turned on. It comes with a small remote control, I’m not sure what is the max distance where it works well in oar big Livingroom (7m by 5m) regardless of where I was standing in the room. If you are not fancy to use the remote, there are touch sensitive button on the top of the fan and by using this you can even set the preferred temperature for your room for a period of max 9 hours.
The oscillation function is very handy for big rooms, when you turn it on, you allow the fan to turn regularly from side-to-side, improving its ability to spread air around the room better. The fan has 4 speed and obviously the higher the speed the more noise it will make but I still believe this is one of the quietest fan I ever used, probably die to the bladeless technology.
The best thing I love in this tower fan is that can add some of my favourite essential oil to it so not just cooling down the air in my Living room but also makes it to smell nice and fresh.
It seems a bit expensive for this price (86.99 at the time I’ve wrote my review) however it totally worth it, it’s a quality Tower Fan and quality always cost more. I highly recommend.
Love the function of remote controller and the touch button control.
I already have 2 more pelonis devices which has the same remote controller.
Option to add deodorising oils are great for claiming the people inside the room .
It’s variable speed and breeze patterns are amazing and suites every need.
Was pretty easy to assemble and love the fan.
Could not find anything negative about the fan.
Summer is near and the weather is getting warmer. I wanted a large easy on the eye and powerful intelligent fan system. This product caught my attention.
It comes in a good looking and secure box. The fan is simple to set up and just the 2 piece base stand needs installing.
The tower unit stands magnificently tall and is made from premium looking black ABS plastics. It sits tall, stylish and sturdy and the unit is easy to carry around via the remote control slot recess.
I only referred to the instructions to see what the 3 modes are and everything is easy to figure out from what you see on the top gloss control panel. See my video and you’ll see how easy it is to use.
I was surprised at how powerful the draft and wind are from this tall narrow looking tower fan. The motor is silent but the winds generated were powerful. The wind mode pattern is great and does its job and the temperature-controlled one works awesome. The sleep pattern is soothing and gentle winds.
The unit is strong and durable and the remote control is handy and saves me from getting up. Moving the tower unit to another room or upstairs is a light and easy job.
I am very happy and content with this tower fan.
The power cable is plenty long.
Some say the price is expensive but I think it’s about right for what it is.
Had just got my old tower fan down from the attic, the other day, when I spotted this one from Pelonis. As much as my old one is ‘fine’, it was made to look less than ordinary. The old one was all mechanical, 3 speed switches, a 120min egg timer to switch off & a clunky push/pull button to get it to oscillate. I’d also modified it by adding a smart switch to the mains cable , to help with my extreme laziness, for not wanting to get up from my seat to switch it on or off.
Well, all those things are now taken care of with my new, rather slick, fan.
It’s large, at over a meter, more varied (5 speed settings) more powerful, has a very slick control panel hidden on the top, as well as a remote control.
On the lowest setting, it’s very, very quiet, yet still manages a good breeze, as you increase the speed, it obviously gets a bit louder, but that’s physics fault.
All the settings can be adjusted by the remote, not just the basics.
There’s a couple of tricks up it’s sleeve, a neat touch, is the temp/speed adjustment, switch this on & as it gets warmer, the fan will speed up accordingly, as the room cools, the speed drops. There’s another couple of variable settings, which I haven’t quite figured out full, even reading the instructions didn’t really make sense with them.
It’s all finished in matte black, with a little chrome trim around the top.
Literally took seconds to assemble, there’s two parts to the base, they clip together, then push onto the bottom of the tower & are Heald in place by a hand tighten bolt. If this took as much as 60 seconds, I’ll be surprised.
Apparently it only uses 40W of electricity, so should be very cheap to run.
Maybe not quite as stylish as the Dyson fans on the market (but I don’t thing they’re all that good at actually causing a draft), but they’re about 3 times the price, if I remember correctly.
Nothing I can fault, I really like this, remote is a real plus & gives a serious gust, if & when required.
Our front room faces south and sunshine streams through our window for most of the day and we get extemely warm in the summer.
It is early days, but the machine is quiet and the chilled water tank does a great job in cooling the air.
The remote control works well but it takes a bit of time to learn what the buttons do. It is easier to press the buttons on the machine.
Excellent quality!
Works perfectly and very easy to use!
It is great for the summer and hot days!
Highly recommend it!
The air cooler arrived safely, and it comes well packaged inside a nicely illustrated retail box.
The overall quality of the unit is very good, its well-made, seems quite durable and it stands nice and sturdy. When operating at anything other than the highest speed it’s not too loud and I could quite happily sleep with it left on. There is a good choice of different fan speeds, a timer function and you can set it oscillate left to right.
It’s a nice-looking unit and a fairly decent size although I do put it on top of a box when I’m in bed as the air doesn’t quite reach me properly. The 5-litre bucket is easy to remove and fill, and big enough to hold several cool blocks but I find that freezing a bottle of water and putting it in the bucket also works great and lasts for quite some time before melting.
I would describe an evaporative cooler such as this one as something that is placed in between a normal cooling fan and air conditioning. If you fill it with ice water, then the air it blows on you will feel cooler, but it won’t make a difference to anyone outside of that air stream, nor will it noticeably cool the room its in. Also, evap coolers are less effective in humid environments so if the humidity in your room is around 55% or above then its better to go for an air conditioner.
Overall, I think that if you don’t want to spend a lot of money on air conditioning and running it then an evaporative cooler like this could be a good choice just to help take the edge off the heat. For what you are getting I feel it represents pretty good value for money and it’s a good quality product. I’m happy to recommend this item and I feel its worth the full five stars, buy with confidence if you want an evaporative cooler!
Where I am (just South of London) we don’t get enough unbearably hot days to justify having ‘proper’ air conditioning, which is very expensive, but we do get enough days that you need something especially with the current working from home situation which means being stuck at home instead of my climate controlled office block.
These humidifier fans are a brilliant compromise. Instead of just pushing around the warm air they do generate cold air to an extent that I found to be much better than expected. I already had a small humidifier from last year’s heatwave, but that old one has a tiny tank that needs filling up every couple of hours. This beast from Pelonis has a massive tank that can go all day without a refill.
It is a bit of a shame that we won’t need the full cooling power for too many days each year, but it is still useful as a normal fan when it is just a bit warm.
It is big enough to cool down a whole room – you don’t need to be sitting right on top of it to get the benefit – but easily portable. You can use it to keep the home office cool during the day and then take it with you to the living room for the evening. Just be careful if you move it with the tank full to the brim.
In theory the remote control is handy, though I haven’t really used it. I’m a little annoyed that the remote has different picture labels for the buttons than what is on the main unit’s control panel.
Obviously the fan noise gets noisier on the highest settings, but I find that you don’t really need the high setting for too long. Once it has done the job of getting the temperature don to a sensible level then the lower power is enough to keep the room that way. You can add ice, or an ice pack to the water tank, although I find that just water on its own works well enough.
Overall this is a bit of a lifesaver on those few days when working from home would otherwise be very unpleasant.
By the way, the model I have is not exactly the same as the one shown on this page. I think I have the next model up, but it does not seem to have its own page any more and directs here, so I am assuming that the one on this page is as good since it is from the same company and uses the same technology.
This air cooler has been a lifesaver. With the heatwave that hit the country and living at higher level in a flat building, I thought I felt like burning. I have used it without the ice water at first and it is very nice and cools the room quite fast, but when adding the ice water, it takes it to another level.. amazing, the best fan ever. Highly recommend this product, already bragged about it to all my friends.
This fan has been a godsend when it comes to cooling you down it’s literally just what I needed it can be a little loud but after a while it goes quie
This fan has been a lifesaver in the recent heat wave! It is described as an Air Cooler so I was interested to see if it really does cool the air down. There is a small tank at the base of the unit that you fill with cold water and ice or ice packs. This is used to cool the air, but to be honest I didn’t find there was a significant difference in the air temperature. That said, as a fan it is brilliant! It has a night mode which is quieter, a natural breeze mode and then low, medium and high settings. The vents on the front of the fan can rotate or remain fixed in position. It moves quite a lot of air on the high mode without being too noisy. As a floor standing fan the air vents are a good height off the ground. The controls are simple and easy to use and the remote control is a real bonus. Very impressed.
Moved from ground floor very dark flat due to tall fir trees
To top floor
No light problems but boy it gets HOT in this flat
Bought this air cooler
Best 94 I ever spent
I can breath now again
Don’t hesitate just buy one if house or flat is hot during heat wave
Pelonis claim 25 years experience of making such devices; I would say that their experience shows, for sure.
Rarely do I find myself thinking, upon reviewing an item, that the price is over inflated. The current asking price for this tower fan and, as they call it in the advert – but not on the box – humidifier – is well set at about 103.
The build quality is high; the design very pleasing to the eye. Although a multi language user manual is included I would say that most people would hardly need it: use is almost intuitive due to the clear set controls on top of the device. Even on its highest fan setting the sound, is loud, yes, but not aggresssively so.
It might seem strange that adding moisture to the air can cool it by in efffect raising what might already be high humidity levels but it is a well proven method used for years in ancient air conditioning systems.
Two ice packs where supplied to place in the water tank if desired.
I suffer, truly, from excessive heat; and I define excessive heat as beginning far lower than most people would, in my opinion. Having this cooler yesterday saved me from being extremely unwell. Unlike a standard type fan – which just circulates the air even if it is at high temperature, this oscillating fan/cooler cools the air and therefore makes for a much more comfortable environment that the standard type fan.
