Overall it’s a great hub which I have been waiting to add to my system for a while. By now you’ve already realised that POE cams are the best method of transferring data and power..so it just makes sense to store it all in one place. I do have one reservation so far..which is not exactly referring to this device at all, but the software..not even the PC windows software..but for the AppleMac OS, If this is in the pipeline well great..but at the moment its not fit for purpose. For example it has no way of differentiating from Car/person/other. It also has no speed control which is essential for viewing hours of footage..cmon!
I am very satisfied with both the seller and the product. The package arrived on time, and the cameras were very well-packed. Installing the cameras is very simple. The picture is flawless and the zoom is great. I bought a total of five cameras 811A and NVR RLN8-410 and all together they are an excellent set that covers my home security needs. I highly recommend buying them.

Arbeitet nahtlos ohne weitere Einstellung mit der iOS-App zusammen. So kann zumindest innerhalb einer Anwendung auch das live-Bild der Billigkamera eingesehen werden.

Was grundstzlich bei Reolink Probleme bereitet, ist die Anbindung an einen GMX-Mailaccount.

Hersteller gibt zwar 2TB als maximale Gre der internen Platte an, aber das werde ich mal beizeiten austesten. Da ich nur bei Bewegung aufzeichnen lasse, sollte das auch recht lange reichen.

Fr ein kleines berwachungssystem eine gute Wahl.
Installation et mise en uvre trs simple, il suffit de brancher, scanner et c’est oprationnel. Les fonctionnalits sont simples mais suffisantes. A voir dans le temps.
Wir haben mittlerweile 4 NVR und ca 30 Kameras von Reolink im Einsatz; teilweise bereits seit ber 6 Jahren. Ein paar Kameras mussten mittlerweile ausgetauscht werden, was ber den Service von Reolink problemlos und unkompliziert erfolgte.
Ein kleines Manko: die PoE Leistung des NVR ist nicht sehr hoch, sodass ab und an Kameras mangels Stromversorgung nicht mehr eingebunden sind. Wir haben daher alle Kameras ber zustzliche switches mit eigener, leistungsstrkerer PoE ins Netzwerk eingebunden.
update Oktober 2022: leider ist die Desktop App nicht kompatibel mit windows 11. Auf 3 PC hngt sich die App stndig auf, mal bereits nach 3 Minuten, manchmal erst nach 3 Stunden. Dann geht nix mehr; selbst die App schlieen geht nur noch ber den Taskmanager. Auf mehreren windows 10 PC luft die App weiterhin problemlos.
update 21.01.23: der Fehler scheint behoben. Der Support hat von sich aus (ohne Erinnerung!) mir die Version 8.10.1 beta gemailt. In dieser scheint der Fehler behoben zu sein; daher wurde die Bewertung auf 5* korrigiert.

la telecamera dingoarmente acquistata prima ha delle funzionalit che NVR nonno capito come si attivano ( tipo time laps ) impossibile configurare l’indirizzo di posta ( per ricevere avvisi ) per il resto con lo smartphone si possono rivedere molto semplicemente le registrazioni da remoto.
Needed to upgrade my old CCTV and this fit my requirements and budget. It’s a very simple plug and play kit if you get the right length of cables. I went and bought longer ones. It comes with template stickers so you know where to drill and the instructions were clear and easy to follow.
The app is amazing when you follow the instructions.
My only minor gripe is the viewing angle is quite narrow but this is due to the restricted height I could mount the camera.

Trs bon produit pour une installation de camras POE, Mais le NVR gre trs mal les camras wifi du mme fabricant car celles-ci ne sont plus reconnues aprs un redmarrage du NVR. Cependant un modle de NVR wifi de la mme marque est disponible pour une installation de camras sans fils.

Dopo purtroppo che pu succedere il decoder nvr aveva dei problemi e un diffetto . Non prendeva pi ! Ma ho contattato subito la ditta e loro mi hanno subito spedito uno nuovo ! Installato nuovamente e funziona perfetto … il vecchio mandato in dietro , 10 stelle per il venditore ! Grazie
Ik gebruik deze NVR om de beelden van mijn Reolink camera’s lokaal op te kunnen slaan.
Voor ik de NVR had gekocht bewaarde ik de opnames op een NAS maar op een Reolink NVR gaat het toch allemaal wat gemakkelijker vind ik.
Je kan ook via de HDMI-uitgang de NVR rechtstreeks op een monitor of de TV aansluiten.
Bijkomend voordeel is dat ik nu niet voor elke PoE-camera een aparte PoE injector + voeding moet gebruiken. De voeding van deze camera’s kan eveneens direct via de NVR geschieden.
Works like a dream, far superior to another make of security nvr I have been using. Picture quality is great and so far I cannot fault it. The after sales service from Reolink was excellent and they helped me through the setting up procedure to get the best out of the unit as the one complaint I have is the setup instructions leave a lot to be desired. Very happy with my purchase and especially the online help I received. Not the cheapest on Amazon but worth it.
The house my parents bought 3 years back came installed with a Swann NVR 7285 recorder and 6 x NHD810 POE cameras. Fast forward to today and that base unit finally gave up the ghost after 6 years of hard use. A replacement same model was unavailable new or used and as i didn’t want to replace all the existing cameras as well i had to investigate an alternative (FYI Swann cameras connect using a proprietary “port 9000” protocol which is generally not interchangeable with other brands).
Anyway after much internet trawling it turns out the Swann unit is actually made by “Shenzhen Baichchuan Security Technology Co Ltd” in China which is actually just Reolink anywhere else! So i bought this Reolink NVR in the hopes it would work with our Swann cameras and it did. The operating system is literally identical to the Swann..i mean LITERALLY bar the Reolink logos. The only issue i had was that on startup it could not immediately view the existing Swann cameras – the reason for this is Reolink and Swann use different default passwords for their cameras which this NVR is obviously not setup with. No problem though; on the camera admin screen you can scroll right and input a password for each – for the Swann cameras this is “12345” (Reolinks use a blank default password as far as i know). Once this was done BOOM – off and going!
I can now reuse my Swann 1080p cameras, but i can also upgrade at any point to the Reolink 4K versions and it will all play together. In addition the Reolink apps are far superior to the Swann ones (which never get updated) in both functionality and stability so another win there.
If anyone wonders the Reolink software can also connect to a Swann NVR (i have one at my own house) and I have also connected a Reolink RLC-410-5MP camera to the Swann base unit so another indication that they are basically the same brands. Have fun!
The good: easy to set up. Easy to use and fast notification alerts when using push on IOS.
The bad: using the web interface on the pc feels outdated, exclusion zone for notifications still sends push notifications. My work around is to turn the sound off or if it’s possible, angle the camera to try and create a blind spot for the area. I don’t mind.
I paired this with their 4K Poe camera RLC-810 and so far I have nearly two weeks of recording and it isn’t full yet.
I would also recommend getting the d20 junction box if you are concerned over how big you need to drill a hole for the camera as it then means you only need the hole big enough to feed cat 5 cable through the wall.
Also if you don’t want to run a bunch of network cable round your house. I paired the box with some home plugs with pass through so that I can have the cctv and home plug on one socket. It works a treat.
Some reviewers commented that this machine only has ONE playback speed. It has MANY playback speeds now. See my captured screen image. I imagine that many of the reviews here may well refer to earlier versions of the product.
I had to update the firmware in this NVR in order for it to be compatible with the RLC-822A cameras that I bought at the same time. The fix is easy once you find out that you need it. (Refer to the Reolink website of course.) That update made the user interface completely different.
Generally it works fine whether you work direct from the NVR to a monitor, or via the PC APP or via the smart phone App. Each interface is a little different. The PC interface is perhaps the most convenient and almost as comprehensive as the direct interface. I found that on the PC I can see all 4 camera views at the same time, but only in low-res. If I switch to single camera mode on my PC, I can see any one single camera in glorious 8K vision (and sound!). Applies to both live and playback.
The Windows PC interface I suggest has not been programmed that efficiently, it’s very slow to load and slow to respond sometimes. My iPhone app is much quicker. Quite often the Windows playback just stops and I have to give it some sort of kick to get it restarted.
After the initial set up you don’t need to go near the NVR, so it can be hidden away in a closet along with all the cables that it attracts. Everything is controlled from your own PC.
The 2TB that comes with the NVR is enough for 6 days continuous recording of my 4 x 8MP cameras. You have the option of replacing the internal HDD with a 6TB SATA HDD, or you can plug in an external 6TB SATA HDD via the eSATA port. You’ll need to buy a suitable SATA HDD designed for surveillance AND an enclosure to put it in. The enclosure will supply the power it needs and also the eSATA interface to the NVR. Note that “SATA” is not quite the same as “eSATA”, that’s why you need the enclosure. Note also that you cannot connect an external HDD via the USB port.
I’m just reviewing the recorder of course, you’ll need to buy separate cameras, cables, crimping tool, conduits…etc. At the time Amazon gave a decent discount for adding the cameras to my basket at the same time as the NVR. (i.e. the discount is real…not a con!)
it works well with the same brand camera, good clear images, the microphone is overly sensitive to wind noise and the instructions are non existent. there are features on this i cannot work out what they do. ps . its 40 cheaper if you buy the recorder direct from reolink.
I have a 6 camera 4K system. I’ve had it for a year now and so far have not had any real problems with it. The one problem I did have (difficulty with setting the motion detection zones) was (I think) due to my monitor having a non-standard number of pixels.
The only complaint I have with it is that it seems to record when nothing in the detection zone is moving and I can only guess that this is due to changes in light due to the sun coming out of or going behind clouds. This is only a problem on windy days. I did try a Swann system with what they call ‘True Detect’ which uses heat and motion (as opposed to just motion) and is only meant to detect people, however it would start recording when a shadow (of a flower for example) in the detection zone moved and I was told that this was because there was a change in the heat reflected off of the patio and so it started recording. So it was not as reliable as it was advertised.
The phone app is excellent and allows you to view it at 3 different resolutions including the highest that the camera will handle. The high resolution allows you to zoom in very close to read number plates for example. The lower resolutions are useful if you want to use it when you have a slow WIFI or mobile phone data connection.
There is no advertised telephone support, just email. However they reply very quickly and obviously know what they are talking about (thank you Crystal for your help with a couple of problems). With the problem that I had setting up the detection zones we had a number of email exchanges but eventually they offered a telephone conversation if I wasn’t happy. I didn’t take up the offer because by then I had decided that it was my hardware rather than their software which was at fault.
I had an HD Swann system previously (as did my neighbour) but in both of our cases the mains adapter went after a couple of years and in my case it blew the NVR so I was not happy. I’m hoping that the Reolink will last a bit longer!
People often ask about night vision, especially reading number plates at night. My experience is that if the car is stationary with the lights off then you can read the number plate, but if the car is moving and has lights on then the lights blind the camera and there is little chance of reading the number plate. I think that this is a problem with all systems, not just the Reolink one. We often have foxes and other animals wandering around at night and these are picked up sufficiently well.
I have one of the cameras aimed along my fence which is parallel to the road, so I get vehicles driving towards and away from the camera. Traffic goes at about 30 mph at a guess and I can usually stop the playback and zoom in to read number plates. It does however require a reasonable level of light to be able to do this.
The NVR interface seems virtually identical to the one that I had on my original Swann system and is fairly straightforward to use.
So in conclusion I am quite happy with the system.
Picture quality is amazing. Compared to my last system, which was 1080, it’s amazing.
The app is really easy to use swapping between views and navigating past recordings to find specific time slots. Customer service is also very quick to reply, as I had an issue with the time stamp not matching with my phone. They replied quickly and helped sort the issue.
All in all a great experience and an amazing product. A lot of the cheaper camera systems don’t have their own app, so you have to use 3rd party camera viewing apps, but most are clunky and difficult to use.
Product is great, really easy to setup and easy to operate. Great functionality with the iOS app, great playback features and for the price a real bargain. Would defo recommend the product. Oh and the support is top notch. Very quick and very efficient resolution.
Had a small problem and notified Reolink Support. Received a reply within hours and followed up. Downloaded a Firmware update and everything working fine. The help from “Fred” in Reolink support was quick and helpful.” I recommended the product to a friend.
El NVR bien empaquetado fue acompaado por un folleto de instrucciones operativas pequeo pero claramente escrito impreso en 5 idiomas (EN / DE / FR / IT / ES) y el ingls era muy bueno. Los diagramas apropiados e inequvocos respaldaban las instrucciones. Sin embargo, haba decidido conectar un monitor LG de 23 pulgadas y ese fue el comienzo de mis problemas. En primer lugar, el mouse no funcionar hasta que se desconecte y se vuelva a conectar al puerto USB del NVR. Este procedimiento tuvo que repetirse cada vez que quise usar el mouse despus de dejarlo por ms de 10 minutos. Despus de haber seguido meticulosamente las instrucciones, me encontr con una “contrasea incorrecta” cada vez que intent pasar la etapa inicial de configuracin del NVR. Finalmente, prescind del monitor y decid usar mi mac, pero luego me informaron que el software Reolink no era compatible con el software IOS de Apple! El desafo de la “contrasea incorrecta” se repiti en mi iPhone y Mac, por lo que tuve que ponerme en contacto con el soporte de Reolink por correo electrnico. Tenga en cuenta que la empresa tiene su sede en una zona horaria diferente, GMT + 8 horas.

Finalmente logr resolver los problemas, que involucraban: no grabar detecciones de movimiento, no enviar correos electrnicos de movimientos detectados y otros.
En Configuracin de red hay una gran cantidad de opciones, en particular la habilitacin de DDNS, NTP y configuracin de puerto, ninguna de las cuales se aborda en el folleto de configuracin. La seccin Almacenamiento simplemente muestra una lnea horizontal de cunto espacio se ha consumido en el disco duro interno del NVR y no hay ninguna posibilidad de eliminar grabaciones del disco duro instalado. La imagen en el NVR de las cmaras es muy clara. Prefiero una retcula para el rea de deteccin de movimiento donde puede completar los cuadrados que desea detectar movimiento. La reproduccin de detecciones es lenta para revelar. En general, el NVR es bueno, pero el software podra beneficiarse de algunas modificaciones, al igual que el sitio web de Reolink. Recomendara este producto.
Used with 2 outdoor cameras on garage. Downside is lack of any helpful set-up manual and having to depend on You-Tube and email advice. The online support I received, however, was good. Poor connection on mains cable and transformer meant I had to tie them together with string to ensure a tight connection.
Very good camera system great quality video. easy to set up. Great customer service my question on an issue i was having was sorted by email in less than a couple of hours by Sylvie.
I have a number of Reolink WiFi cameras feeding into this NVR. The NVR comes with it’s own hard disc so none of the compatibility issues of other NVRs. Almost faultless 24/7 recording and useful 4 view playback that allows viewing of multiple cameras to be replayed at the same time. Excellent kit.
This really is a fantastic system. Very easy to install, simple plug and play, took less than 1 hour to install 4 cameras. You don’t need to pay security companies a fortune for cctv when you have this system (which many of the companies actually use but charge >1000 to install) The picture quality is excellent and the app is easy to use l, even for a complete novice like me.
Small issue with HD after 7 months of use but one email to the customer service line and it was sorted out very quickly.
For the money it really is a bargain.
I’ve had this system for 18months . Easy to set up. Picture quality is ok in the day time , acceptable at night. But motion detection is like most other systems, very fiddly.
The ratings for this product aren’t suitable – they would be better suited to CAMERAS!
Back to the ACTUAL product – it is very easy to set up and configure. Just a pity that one cannot disable the PoE ports in the Reolink Windows app if they are not used. I am not using any PoE cameras – only wireless ones. The wireless cameras display alright.

The Reolink cameras are one of the best cameras that you can buy, especially at the price point they offer. Most of their cameras have the ability to record internally to the camera, but for some people they prefer to record to an external device which has a bigger storage capacity, this is where the NVR comes in.
This NVE can take up to 8 4K cameras, I set it up with 4x 5MP zoom cameras and has worked flawlessly, it was very a setup and go system, after plugging in the cameras they were automatically picked up and you could configure the recording schedule, motion zones, and other associated settings. One of the features that I find useful in the Reolink NVR that many other NVRs don’t have is the ability to record continously but also marks on the timeline where motion was detected, allowing to record continously but still easily see when motion was detected.
One of the best parts of the Reolink ecosystem is the app, the app for Reolink is by far one of the best from a CCTV vendor, it’s extremely easy to use and intuative making it suitable for all technical abilities.
Having already purchased 2 5mp reolink cameras in the past, I found they were not exactly reliable backing up on to the memory card. Thr frame rate could stutter recording. So I had been backing up onto my pc.
I purchased this unit and fitted a 4tb drive, recording 24hrs a day 7vdays a week with audio i get upto 55 days footage.
Despite what others may claim, the play back speeds are perfectly adequate for revieing footage and its easy to use.
I already showed the police one incident this week andvthey were impressed with the quality.
This is a solid bit if kit with a very small footprint, i just wish i had bought one along time ago.
Originally when I bought my CCTV cameras I was going to run them from some software on my NAS device. This proved pretty unreliable. I searched for something to replace it with that did not cost the earth and found this NVR from the manufacturer of the cameras I already had. The software that goes with it is straightforward and the box just does its thing. You can connect POE cameras directly into the NVR and control them via the NVR itself. The NVR itself is available via ONVIF and RTSP etc. so can easily be added into other software should you wish.
Since installing this it has been running happily until I recently hit a challenge. I contacted the company via the internet and received an extensive and helpful reply the next day that resolved my issue. All in all the NVR has done all I need it to, not the most sophisticated but enough for the average home without breaking the bank.
Edit: I have now upgraded the hardware to the newest revision because I wanted to use the person detection that comes on newer hardware. Swap out was really easy and the majority of settings stayed in place. One minor issue was fixed by Fiona is support in a jiffy. Really happy with reolink kit.
I like the product, does what it says on the tin the only but I don’t like is if you want to go through the recordings there is slow motion but no fast forward function, which can be time consuming
Excellent imaging with nice features in the software. Very easy to view cameras and recordings. Fairly easy to setup although the written instructions were lacking a lot of information, however the website is very helpful when you get stuck. USB Mouse supplied was very poor and didn’t work a lot of the time which was very frustrating at the start. Replaced it and it all starting working as I’d expect. Could not see the cameras remotely using the IOS App but customer support advised a firmware upgrade which sorted the problem. So a few initial niggles but all working well now and very pleased given the price. Excellent value for money

Good piece of kit, works well with x2 wifi cameras fitted either side of the house. Very easy setup. User friendly phone app.

for the price and the features, and in my experience the quality, I have 4 5MP cameras and 1 4K camera, this is simple and really good to use. plenty of features. the iOS app gets updated regularly with fixes and features. you can plug you cameras directly in the unit itself, or it can connect to cameras on your local network (ie not directly plugged into the back of the unit). great value for the price too. also have installed one at my parents house too, and have their system appear on my app, as well as my own.

IMPORTANTE: viene specificato che funziona solo con telecamere Reolink ma in realta’ non e’ vero. Se avete camere ONVIF le rileva e le aggiunge come canali streaming quindi potete vederle assieme alle Reolink. Quello che non puo’ fare invece e’ gestire i loro allarmi perche’ ovviamente di diversa implementazione. A me ha visto subito le telecamere Foscam e TP-link che ho assieme alle Reolink 410 gia’ installate.
NON c’e’ bisogno di doverle collegare per forza via cavo ethernet al registratore, basta che siano tutti nella stessa rete e lu ile trova con i loro indirizzi IP.
Avendolo vicino alla TV si puo’ collegare alla stessa tramite cavo HDMI incluso.
Nota dolente e’ il software veramente poco capibile e macchinoso vecchio stile. Meglio configurarlo attraverso il client da computer della Reolink anche perche’ farlo con il suo mouse in dotazione diventa una storia infinita. NON ha collegamento tastiera, NON ha telecomando.
Se non fosse per il software sarebbe un prodotto quasi da 5 stelle considerando il prezzo, o quantomeno fino ad oggi dopo solo due giorni di utilizzo, poi si vedra’.
Fantastic product. Easy to install, plug and play, no mocking about with pairing or network settings! Automatically detected on my iPhone upon downloading and launching the app. Done in 5mins. Crystal clear images, video and also voice captured clearly. Only snag is, picture quality preset to low resolution and you need to go into settings to change resolution to full HD but even that was easy peasy! Over all, fantastic and I will recommend.
Attached picture from the CCTV was on a cloudy, rainy day, just past 3pm when day was starting to get dark as it get dark 4pm London, this time in winter.. but the picture was crystal clear and sharp.
Haven’t fully installed this system yet but have connected a couple of cameras and played with the system.
So far everything looks good. The cameras appear to be a decent build quality and the images appear pretty sharp. The software has most of the functionality you need although some features aren’t that slick or easy to use, for instance zoom (digital) is through a series of buttons, you can’t use mouse wheel over image. Also playback functionality works but is very poor interface. But overall very good system for the price
Quick delivery and easy enough to install with good quality images. Only negative is that the manual that comes with it is very basic and doesn’t explain anything about what all the different settings/do etc. Would recommend though.
I was looking for a PoE system with good mobile and desktop apps and the possibility to use high quality cameras. I’ve used decent systems in the past but the apps have been a bit hit and miss and often they have been very difficult to use on desktops. One system you could only use with Internet Explorer!
Since getting this NVR and setting it up with two RLC-420s I have been absolutely blown away by the quality of the video and also all the different software. It is by far the best home cctv system I’ve used and would highly recommend it to anyone looking at PoE systems.
I spent a lot of time looking for a replacement for my old steam driven CCTV system that was starting to creak and the resolution wasn’t brilliant. I also needed a Dynamic DNS account that had to be renewed every month.
I came across the Reolink system and really liked the look of it and the simplicity of the install.
One of my concerns was that I didnt want to have to rely on a DDNS acct and was reassured by the superb Customer Service at Reolink that it didnt.
I purchased the 8 ch with 4 cams and added a couple to the system to give me more coverage. Extremely easy to set up and install. Running the cables is a challenge depending on your property and you need to be able to terminate network cables to make use of the waterproof connections at the camera end.
Remote access is simplistic and works a dream phone tablet and PC (even a mac)
Cannot fault the Customer Service team as recently have asked a question and they respond within 24hrs.
All in a perfect replacement for my old system with the reassurance that Reolink have everything covered on their website if you run into problems.
Good bit of kit. I have tried a few brands of CCTV now, such as Sannce, Hikvision etc, but this one was by far the easiest to set up, and seems better quality overall. This could of course be natural progression of quality, as it’s been a few years since I last installed CCTV for someone. I paired this with 2 autofocus 5mp cams, and 2 standard 5mp cams. Throughput and picture quality is great. Night vision is good-ish but could be better, it seems to be very focused in the centre of the image. Motion detection is much the same as on every CCTV I have installed, it’s either too sensitive or not sensitive enough – probably needs to be played around with. However, as I needed a reliable CCTV system with good app support, this was perfect!
An excellent product throughout, came very well packaged with clear instructions and was easy to implement and use. The NVR can be located somewhere discreet and controlled in that location or by the Reolink Client software available for windows and MAC. The MAC version is very easy to navigate. Coupled with the Reolink 5 MP cameras the quality is nothing short of amazing. Very clear day and night vision with carefully placed cameras, ie not pointing at the sun or through windows. Also available and so easy to use is the Reolink App and it works a treat again very stable and easy to use. All the cameras I have are POE direct wired and and so I cannot comment on the wireless cameras but if they are anything compared to the rest of the kit I wont be disappointed. One other note, I contacted Reolink support with a few questions and had a reply back in less than 24 hours. A big thumbs up to Reolink truly excellent products.
I have four Reolink cameras. All worked out of the box. Excellent picture. Easy to set up on mobile, PC and tablet.
Following initially unnoticed vehicle damage to a wall, I reviewed the playback and sadly, it had been overwritten on the SD card. The motion detection ‘sees’ rain and we’ve had a lot of that! My first reaction was to position a C1 Pro looking through a window. Rain on window pane seen as motion! Night vision infra red reflects of the glass burning out the picture. Switch off the night vision and wow. The motion detection is excellent seeing a cat 20 metres away through the window because security lights switching on are seen as movement and provide a better picture than night vision.
Rain is still an issue so, try I thought I’d try an NVR8-410 using two mains powered wi-fi cameras. Uncertain as to how to set this system up as the NVR is primarily marketed as POE device. I can’t find an ON switch. To set it up, I connected it to my wi-fi network by plugging it into the router, plug in the supplied mouse, connect to a spare input on my monitor and power it up. Answer a few questions, log in to my network, pause puzzled at the screen asking to initiate the hard drive so ignore this, click next and there, listed’ are my two cameras. Fantastic. Tip from Reolink: they need to be logged in to the NVR so scroll right to find the ‘hidden’ log-in boxes. 30 minutes total and there are my cameras. Still learning how to use the software but it seems easy enough. It really is very good indeed.
love the 24/7 recording but with the motion detection of the attached cameras being either way too sensitive or not sensitive enough having to watch overnight playback at only 1x speed is a nightmare, hope theres going to be a software/firmware update ASAP to address this or i will be returning the lot.

We have been installing Reolink products for the past year here in the UK. We find them very good value for the money, easy to install and setup and works out of the box.
The reason we like the Reolink products is because they provide a free remote viewing app of which our customers find very easy to navigate with no subscription fees, the camera and recorder interface is very easy to use.
Most of the products are power over Ethernet so require no power supplies to the cameras when using with a Reolink network recorder, this saves time and money running cables and power to each camera.
Overall we are very happy with the product, the service and the support
We can confirm that we have tested nearly every item from the Reolink range and as of yet we have had no issues with them.

Overall it’s a great hub which I have been waiting to add to my system for a while. By now you’ve already realised that POE cams are the best method of transferring data and power..so it just makes sense to store it all in one place. I do have one reservation so far..which is not exactly referring to this device at all, but the software..not even the PC windows software..but for the AppleMac OS, If this is in the pipeline well great..but at the moment its not fit for purpose. For example it has no way of differentiating from Car/person/other. It also has no speed control which is essential for viewing hours of footage..cmon!

Hersteller gibt zwar 2TB als maximale Gre der internen Platte an, aber das werde ich mal beizeiten austesten. Da ich nur bei Bewegung aufzeichnen lasse, sollte das auch recht lange reichen.

Fr ein kleines berwachungssystem eine gute Wahl.
Installation et mise en uvre trs simple, il suffit de brancher, scanner et c’est oprationnel. Les fonctionnalits sont simples mais suffisantes. A voir dans le temps.
Wir haben mittlerweile 4 NVR und ca 30 Kameras von Reolink im Einsatz; teilweise bereits seit ber 6 Jahren. Ein paar Kameras mussten mittlerweile ausgetauscht werden, was ber den Service von Reolink problemlos und unkompliziert erfolgte.
Ein kleines Manko: die PoE Leistung des NVR ist nicht sehr hoch, sodass ab und an Kameras mangels Stromversorgung nicht mehr eingebunden sind. Wir haben daher alle Kameras ber zustzliche switches mit eigener, leistungsstrkerer PoE ins Netzwerk eingebunden.
update Oktober 2022: leider ist die Desktop App nicht kompatibel mit windows 11. Auf 3 PC hngt sich die App stndig auf, mal bereits nach 3 Minuten, manchmal erst nach 3 Stunden. Dann geht nix mehr; selbst die App schlieen geht nur noch ber den Taskmanager. Auf mehreren windows 10 PC luft die App weiterhin problemlos.
update 21.01.23: der Fehler scheint behoben. Der Support hat von sich aus (ohne Erinnerung!) mir die Version 8.10.1 beta gemailt. In dieser scheint der Fehler behoben zu sein; daher wurde die Bewertung auf 5* korrigiert.

Needed to upgrade my old CCTV and this fit my requirements and budget. It’s a very simple plug and play kit if you get the right length of cables. I went and bought longer ones. It comes with template stickers so you know where to drill and the instructions were clear and easy to follow.
The app is amazing when you follow the instructions.
My only minor gripe is the viewing angle is quite narrow but this is due to the restricted height I could mount the camera.
10/10 highly recommend!

Trs bon produit pour une installation de camras POE, Mais le NVR gre trs mal les camras wifi du mme fabricant car celles-ci ne sont plus reconnues aprs un redmarrage du NVR. Cependant un modle de NVR wifi de la mme marque est disponible pour une installation de camras sans fils.

Dopo purtroppo che pu succedere il decoder nvr aveva dei problemi e un diffetto . Non prendeva pi ! Ma ho contattato subito la ditta e loro mi hanno subito spedito uno nuovo ! Installato nuovamente e funziona perfetto … il vecchio mandato in dietro , 10 stelle per il venditore ! Grazie
Ik gebruik deze NVR om de beelden van mijn Reolink camera’s lokaal op te kunnen slaan.
Voor ik de NVR had gekocht bewaarde ik de opnames op een NAS maar op een Reolink NVR gaat het toch allemaal wat gemakkelijker vind ik.
Je kan ook via de HDMI-uitgang de NVR rechtstreeks op een monitor of de TV aansluiten.
Bijkomend voordeel is dat ik nu niet voor elke PoE-camera een aparte PoE injector + voeding moet gebruiken. De voeding van deze camera’s kan eveneens direct via de NVR geschieden.
Can be setup from a PC and is easy to understand.
Easy to setup and the operating system is very easy to navigate. Cameras just need to be plugged in via ethernet and work straight away.
At first I had some problems with confirmation, but I contacted the reolink and everything was resolved

It isn’t bad but for what you pay, there is better on the market.
Works like a dream, far superior to another make of security nvr I have been using. Picture quality is great and so far I cannot fault it. The after sales service from Reolink was excellent and they helped me through the setting up procedure to get the best out of the unit as the one complaint I have is the setup instructions leave a lot to be desired. Very happy with my purchase and especially the online help I received. Not the cheapest on Amazon but worth it.
Anyway after much internet trawling it turns out the Swann unit is actually made by “Shenzhen Baichchuan Security Technology Co Ltd” in China which is actually just Reolink anywhere else! So i bought this Reolink NVR in the hopes it would work with our Swann cameras and it did. The operating system is literally identical to the Swann..i mean LITERALLY bar the Reolink logos. The only issue i had was that on startup it could not immediately view the existing Swann cameras – the reason for this is Reolink and Swann use different default passwords for their cameras which this NVR is obviously not setup with. No problem though; on the camera admin screen you can scroll right and input a password for each – for the Swann cameras this is “12345” (Reolinks use a blank default password as far as i know). Once this was done BOOM – off and going!
I can now reuse my Swann 1080p cameras, but i can also upgrade at any point to the Reolink 4K versions and it will all play together. In addition the Reolink apps are far superior to the Swann ones (which never get updated) in both functionality and stability so another win there.
If anyone wonders the Reolink software can also connect to a Swann NVR (i have one at my own house) and I have also connected a Reolink RLC-410-5MP camera to the Swann base unit so another indication that they are basically the same brands. Have fun!
The good: easy to set up. Easy to use and fast notification alerts when using push on IOS.
The bad: using the web interface on the pc feels outdated, exclusion zone for notifications still sends push notifications. My work around is to turn the sound off or if it’s possible, angle the camera to try and create a blind spot for the area. I don’t mind.
I paired this with their 4K Poe camera RLC-810 and so far I have nearly two weeks of recording and it isn’t full yet.
I would also recommend getting the d20 junction box if you are concerned over how big you need to drill a hole for the camera as it then means you only need the hole big enough to feed cat 5 cable through the wall.
Also if you don’t want to run a bunch of network cable round your house. I paired the box with some home plugs with pass through so that I can have the cctv and home plug on one socket. It works a treat.
I had to update the firmware in this NVR in order for it to be compatible with the RLC-822A cameras that I bought at the same time. The fix is easy once you find out that you need it. (Refer to the Reolink website of course.) That update made the user interface completely different.
Generally it works fine whether you work direct from the NVR to a monitor, or via the PC APP or via the smart phone App. Each interface is a little different. The PC interface is perhaps the most convenient and almost as comprehensive as the direct interface. I found that on the PC I can see all 4 camera views at the same time, but only in low-res. If I switch to single camera mode on my PC, I can see any one single camera in glorious 8K vision (and sound!). Applies to both live and playback.
The Windows PC interface I suggest has not been programmed that efficiently, it’s very slow to load and slow to respond sometimes. My iPhone app is much quicker. Quite often the Windows playback just stops and I have to give it some sort of kick to get it restarted.
After the initial set up you don’t need to go near the NVR, so it can be hidden away in a closet along with all the cables that it attracts. Everything is controlled from your own PC.
The 2TB that comes with the NVR is enough for 6 days continuous recording of my 4 x 8MP cameras. You have the option of replacing the internal HDD with a 6TB SATA HDD, or you can plug in an external 6TB SATA HDD via the eSATA port. You’ll need to buy a suitable SATA HDD designed for surveillance AND an enclosure to put it in. The enclosure will supply the power it needs and also the eSATA interface to the NVR. Note that “SATA” is not quite the same as “eSATA”, that’s why you need the enclosure. Note also that you cannot connect an external HDD via the USB port.
I’m just reviewing the recorder of course, you’ll need to buy separate cameras, cables, crimping tool, conduits…etc. At the time Amazon gave a decent discount for adding the cameras to my basket at the same time as the NVR. (i.e. the discount is real…not a con!)
it works well with the same brand camera, good clear images, the microphone is overly sensitive to wind noise and the instructions are non existent. there are features on this i cannot work out what they do. ps . its 40 cheaper if you buy the recorder direct from reolink.

Also the support from reolink for me is always first class.
I have a 6 camera 4K system. I’ve had it for a year now and so far have not had any real problems with it. The one problem I did have (difficulty with setting the motion detection zones) was (I think) due to my monitor having a non-standard number of pixels.
The only complaint I have with it is that it seems to record when nothing in the detection zone is moving and I can only guess that this is due to changes in light due to the sun coming out of or going behind clouds. This is only a problem on windy days. I did try a Swann system with what they call ‘True Detect’ which uses heat and motion (as opposed to just motion) and is only meant to detect people, however it would start recording when a shadow (of a flower for example) in the detection zone moved and I was told that this was because there was a change in the heat reflected off of the patio and so it started recording. So it was not as reliable as it was advertised.
The phone app is excellent and allows you to view it at 3 different resolutions including the highest that the camera will handle. The high resolution allows you to zoom in very close to read number plates for example. The lower resolutions are useful if you want to use it when you have a slow WIFI or mobile phone data connection.
There is no advertised telephone support, just email. However they reply very quickly and obviously know what they are talking about (thank you Crystal for your help with a couple of problems). With the problem that I had setting up the detection zones we had a number of email exchanges but eventually they offered a telephone conversation if I wasn’t happy. I didn’t take up the offer because by then I had decided that it was my hardware rather than their software which was at fault.
I had an HD Swann system previously (as did my neighbour) but in both of our cases the mains adapter went after a couple of years and in my case it blew the NVR so I was not happy. I’m hoping that the Reolink will last a bit longer!
People often ask about night vision, especially reading number plates at night. My experience is that if the car is stationary with the lights off then you can read the number plate, but if the car is moving and has lights on then the lights blind the camera and there is little chance of reading the number plate. I think that this is a problem with all systems, not just the Reolink one. We often have foxes and other animals wandering around at night and these are picked up sufficiently well.
I have one of the cameras aimed along my fence which is parallel to the road, so I get vehicles driving towards and away from the camera. Traffic goes at about 30 mph at a guess and I can usually stop the playback and zoom in to read number plates. It does however require a reasonable level of light to be able to do this.
The NVR interface seems virtually identical to the one that I had on my original Swann system and is fairly straightforward to use.
So in conclusion I am quite happy with the system.
Picture quality is amazing. Compared to my last system, which was 1080, it’s amazing.
The app is really easy to use swapping between views and navigating past recordings to find specific time slots. Customer service is also very quick to reply, as I had an issue with the time stamp not matching with my phone. They replied quickly and helped sort the issue.
All in all a great experience and an amazing product. A lot of the cheaper camera systems don’t have their own app, so you have to use 3rd party camera viewing apps, but most are clunky and difficult to use.

El NVR bien empaquetado fue acompaado por un folleto de instrucciones operativas pequeo pero claramente escrito impreso en 5 idiomas (EN / DE / FR / IT / ES) y el ingls era muy bueno. Los diagramas apropiados e inequvocos respaldaban las instrucciones. Sin embargo, haba decidido conectar un monitor LG de 23 pulgadas y ese fue el comienzo de mis problemas. En primer lugar, el mouse no funcionar hasta que se desconecte y se vuelva a conectar al puerto USB del NVR. Este procedimiento tuvo que repetirse cada vez que quise usar el mouse despus de dejarlo por ms de 10 minutos. Despus de haber seguido meticulosamente las instrucciones, me encontr con una “contrasea incorrecta” cada vez que intent pasar la etapa inicial de configuracin del NVR. Finalmente, prescind del monitor y decid usar mi mac, pero luego me informaron que el software Reolink no era compatible con el software IOS de Apple! El desafo de la “contrasea incorrecta” se repiti en mi iPhone y Mac, por lo que tuve que ponerme en contacto con el soporte de Reolink por correo electrnico. Tenga en cuenta que la empresa tiene su sede en una zona horaria diferente, GMT + 8 horas.
Despus de unos das, me informaron que el software de cliente Reolink era de hecho una versin anterior 3.5.6.55, lo que tambin explica por qu gran parte del software de su sitio web est desactualizado. En Configuracin de red hay una gran cantidad de opciones, en particular la habilitacin de DDNS, NTP y configuracin de puerto, ninguna de las cuales se aborda en el folleto de configuracin. La seccin Almacenamiento simplemente muestra una lnea horizontal de cunto espacio se ha consumido en el disco duro interno del NVR y no hay ninguna posibilidad de eliminar grabaciones del disco duro instalado. La imagen en el NVR de las cmaras es muy clara. Prefiero una retcula para el rea de deteccin de movimiento donde puede completar los cuadrados que desea detectar movimiento. La reproduccin de detecciones es lenta para revelar. En general, el NVR es bueno, pero el software podra beneficiarse de algunas modificaciones, al igual que el sitio web de Reolink. Recomendara este producto.
Very easy to setup, good quality, Pre-formatted HDD, easy to operate and setup, recording playback is fantastic via the APP and unit.
By far the best user experience and GUI I have seen and the best cameras and camera quality.

Used with 2 outdoor cameras on garage. Downside is lack of any helpful set-up manual and having to depend on You-Tube and email advice. The online support I received, however, was good. Poor connection on mains cable and transformer meant I had to tie them together with string to ensure a tight connection.

I have a number of Reolink WiFi cameras feeding into this NVR. The NVR comes with it’s own hard disc so none of the compatibility issues of other NVRs. Almost faultless 24/7 recording and useful 4 view playback that allows viewing of multiple cameras to be replayed at the same time. Excellent kit.
This really is a fantastic system. Very easy to install, simple plug and play, took less than 1 hour to install 4 cameras. You don’t need to pay security companies a fortune for cctv when you have this system (which many of the companies actually use but charge >1000 to install) The picture quality is excellent and the app is easy to use l, even for a complete novice like me.
Small issue with HD after 7 months of use but one email to the customer service line and it was sorted out very quickly.
For the money it really is a bargain.
I’ve had this system for 18months . Easy to set up. Picture quality is ok in the day time , acceptable at night. But motion detection is like most other systems, very fiddly.
The ratings for this product aren’t suitable – they would be better suited to CAMERAS!
Back to the ACTUAL product – it is very easy to set up and configure. Just a pity that one cannot disable the PoE ports in the Reolink Windows app if they are not used. I am not using any PoE cameras – only wireless ones. The wireless cameras display alright.

This NVE can take up to 8 4K cameras, I set it up with 4x 5MP zoom cameras and has worked flawlessly, it was very a setup and go system, after plugging in the cameras they were automatically picked up and you could configure the recording schedule, motion zones, and other associated settings. One of the features that I find useful in the Reolink NVR that many other NVRs don’t have is the ability to record continously but also marks on the timeline where motion was detected, allowing to record continously but still easily see when motion was detected.
One of the best parts of the Reolink ecosystem is the app, the app for Reolink is by far one of the best from a CCTV vendor, it’s extremely easy to use and intuative making it suitable for all technical abilities.
No problem connecting up and works as you expect using a monitor, phone or pc
Having already purchased 2 5mp reolink cameras in the past, I found they were not exactly reliable backing up on to the memory card. Thr frame rate could stutter recording. So I had been backing up onto my pc.
I purchased this unit and fitted a 4tb drive, recording 24hrs a day 7vdays a week with audio i get upto 55 days footage.
Despite what others may claim, the play back speeds are perfectly adequate for revieing footage and its easy to use.
I already showed the police one incident this week andvthey were impressed with the quality.
This is a solid bit if kit with a very small footprint, i just wish i had bought one along time ago.
Since installing this it has been running happily until I recently hit a challenge. I contacted the company via the internet and received an extensive and helpful reply the next day that resolved my issue. All in all the NVR has done all I need it to, not the most sophisticated but enough for the average home without breaking the bank.
Edit: I have now upgraded the hardware to the newest revision because I wanted to use the person detection that comes on newer hardware. Swap out was really easy and the majority of settings stayed in place. One minor issue was fixed by Fiona is support in a jiffy. Really happy with reolink kit.
I like the product, does what it says on the tin the only but I don’t like is if you want to go through the recordings there is slow motion but no fast forward function, which can be time consuming
Excellent imaging with nice features in the software. Very easy to view cameras and recordings. Fairly easy to setup although the written instructions were lacking a lot of information, however the website is very helpful when you get stuck. USB Mouse supplied was very poor and didn’t work a lot of the time which was very frustrating at the start. Replaced it and it all starting working as I’d expect. Could not see the cameras remotely using the IOS App but customer support advised a firmware upgrade which sorted the problem. So a few initial niggles but all working well now and very pleased given the price. Excellent value for money

for the price and the features, and in my experience the quality, I have 4 5MP cameras and 1 4K camera, this is simple and really good to use. plenty of features. the iOS app gets updated regularly with fixes and features. you can plug you cameras directly in the unit itself, or it can connect to cameras on your local network (ie not directly plugged into the back of the unit). great value for the price too. also have installed one at my parents house too, and have their system appear on my app, as well as my own.
This CCTV system is brilliant it does everything you need and more. I’d highly recommend this to anyone who needs a CCTV set up.

Se avete camere ONVIF le rileva e le aggiunge come canali streaming quindi potete vederle assieme alle Reolink. Quello che non puo’ fare invece e’ gestire i loro allarmi perche’ ovviamente di diversa implementazione. A me ha visto subito le telecamere Foscam e TP-link che ho assieme alle Reolink 410 gia’ installate.
NON c’e’ bisogno di doverle collegare per forza via cavo ethernet al registratore, basta che siano tutti nella stessa rete e lu ile trova con i loro indirizzi IP.
Avendolo vicino alla TV si puo’ collegare alla stessa tramite cavo HDMI incluso.
Nota dolente e’ il software veramente poco capibile e macchinoso vecchio stile. Meglio configurarlo attraverso il client da computer della Reolink anche perche’ farlo con il suo mouse in dotazione diventa una storia infinita. NON ha collegamento tastiera, NON ha telecomando.
Se non fosse per il software sarebbe un prodotto quasi da 5 stelle considerando il prezzo, o quantomeno fino ad oggi dopo solo due giorni di utilizzo, poi si vedra’.
Great DVR. Really simple to set up and get viewing on my phone fast.
Attached picture from the CCTV was on a cloudy, rainy day, just past 3pm when day was starting to get dark as it get dark 4pm London, this time in winter.. but the picture was crystal clear and sharp.
Haven’t fully installed this system yet but have connected a couple of cameras and played with the system.
So far everything looks good. The cameras appear to be a decent build quality and the images appear pretty sharp. The software has most of the functionality you need although some features aren’t that slick or easy to use, for instance zoom (digital) is through a series of buttons, you can’t use mouse wheel over image. Also playback functionality works but is very poor interface. But overall very good system for the price

Quick delivery and easy enough to install with good quality images. Only negative is that the manual that comes with it is very basic and doesn’t explain anything about what all the different settings/do etc. Would recommend though.
Since getting this NVR and setting it up with two RLC-420s I have been absolutely blown away by the quality of the video and also all the different software. It is by far the best home cctv system I’ve used and would highly recommend it to anyone looking at PoE systems.
I spent a lot of time looking for a replacement for my old steam driven CCTV system that was starting to creak and the resolution wasn’t brilliant. I also needed a Dynamic DNS account that had to be renewed every month.
I came across the Reolink system and really liked the look of it and the simplicity of the install.
One of my concerns was that I didnt want to have to rely on a DDNS acct and was reassured by the superb Customer Service at Reolink that it didnt.
I purchased the 8 ch with 4 cams and added a couple to the system to give me more coverage. Extremely easy to set up and install. Running the cables is a challenge depending on your property and you need to be able to terminate network cables to make use of the waterproof connections at the camera end.
Remote access is simplistic and works a dream phone tablet and PC (even a mac)
Cannot fault the Customer Service team as recently have asked a question and they respond within 24hrs.
All in a perfect replacement for my old system with the reassurance that Reolink have everything covered on their website if you run into problems.
An excellent product throughout, came very well packaged with clear instructions and was easy to implement and use. The NVR can be located somewhere discreet and controlled in that location or by the Reolink Client software available for windows and MAC. The MAC version is very easy to navigate. Coupled with the Reolink 5 MP cameras the quality is nothing short of amazing. Very clear day and night vision with carefully placed cameras, ie not pointing at the sun or through windows. Also available and so easy to use is the Reolink App and it works a treat again very stable and easy to use. All the cameras I have are POE direct wired and and so I cannot comment on the wireless cameras but if they are anything compared to the rest of the kit I wont be disappointed. One other note, I contacted Reolink support with a few questions and had a reply back in less than 24 hours. A big thumbs up to Reolink truly excellent products.
Following initially unnoticed vehicle damage to a wall, I reviewed the playback and sadly, it had been overwritten on the SD card. The motion detection ‘sees’ rain and we’ve had a lot of that! My first reaction was to position a C1 Pro looking through a window. Rain on window pane seen as motion! Night vision infra red reflects of the glass burning out the picture. Switch off the night vision and wow. The motion detection is excellent seeing a cat 20 metres away through the window because security lights switching on are seen as movement and provide a better picture than night vision.
Rain is still an issue so, try I thought I’d try an NVR8-410 using two mains powered wi-fi cameras. Uncertain as to how to set this system up as the NVR is primarily marketed as POE device. I can’t find an ON switch. To set it up, I connected it to my wi-fi network by plugging it into the router, plug in the supplied mouse, connect to a spare input on my monitor and power it up. Answer a few questions, log in to my network, pause puzzled at the screen asking to initiate the hard drive so ignore this, click next and there, listed’ are my two cameras. Fantastic. Tip from Reolink: they need to be logged in to the NVR so scroll right to find the ‘hidden’ log-in boxes. 30 minutes total and there are my cameras. Still learning how to use the software but it seems easy enough. It really is very good indeed.

Works fine although I have only purchased 1 camera so far.
Easiest setup for an NVR ever no need for any tech knowledge just follow the on screen instructions and it works from the get go. Simple plug and play!
The reason we like the Reolink products is because they provide a free remote viewing app of which our customers find very easy to navigate with no subscription fees, the camera and recorder interface is very easy to use.
Most of the products are power over Ethernet so require no power supplies to the cameras when using with a Reolink network recorder, this saves time and money running cables and power to each camera.
Overall we are very happy with the product, the service and the support
We can confirm that we have tested nearly every item from the Reolink range and as of yet we have had no issues with them.
