Conclusion
UGREEN Cat 7: your shortcut to fast, hassle-free internet.
My Wifi was extremely slow until purchasing this. I had the router on my desk and my pc under it but I couldn’t get it so the desk was not blocking the signal so I purchased this and the Wi-Fi’s is now great. Would recommend!
This ethernet cable isn’t the fastest or the best out there but for this price it does the job and will probably last a while . Most people in the UK don’t have fast enough Internet to make use of a faster cable anyway.
For being a CAT7 Cable the price was really good compared to other no name brands who I wouldn’t trust. Other than that the fact it is flat is great since it means it doesn’t tangle easily and it is quite sturdy at the same time.
It does the job and probably lives up to its certification which I can’t test since I don’t have fast enough internet for that. The clips are good and no issues so far and no complaints.
Easy to recommend this over other cables which are more expensive; since UGREEN have built up a good reputation over the last few years to a point I can trust their products over other bigger names because of the price and quality.
The UGREEN Cat 7 Ethernet Cable has proven to be a high-speed and reliable solution for establishing seamless connectivity between my devices. With its impressive 10Gbps speed and 600Mhz/s bandwidth, this flat gigabit RJ45 LAN patch cord has exceeded my expectations and provided a smooth internet experience.
The standout feature of this Ethernet cable is its impressive speed and bandwidth capabilities. With 10Gbps, I experienced lightning-fast data transfer and minimal latency, making it ideal for online gaming, streaming, and large file transfers. The 600Mhz/s bandwidth ensures a stable and consistent connection, reducing the risk of data packet loss.
The flat design of the cable is a major plus. Its slim and flexible construction allows for easy routing and minimizes tangling, making it convenient to install and manage. This is particularly beneficial when dealing with tight spaces or when running the cable along walls and corners.
The compatibility of this Ethernet cable with various devices is commendable. It works seamlessly with internet routers, modems, smart TVs, PCs, laptops, and gaming consoles like PS5, PS4, and Switch. I appreciated the versatility, as it allowed me to use the same cable for multiple devices without any issues.
The FTP (Foil Twisted Pair) shielding enhances the cable’s performance, providing protection against interference and ensuring a stable connection. Additionally, the PoE (Power over Ethernet) compatibility makes it suitable for powering devices through the Ethernet cable, eliminating the need for separate power cables for certain devices.
The 1M length of the cable suited my needs perfectly. However, it’s essential to consider the distance between your devices and the router to ensure the cable length is appropriate for your setup.
In conclusion, the UGREEN Cat 7 Ethernet Cable is a top-notch solution for those seeking high-speed and reliable connectivity for their devices. Its impressive 10Gbps speed, 600Mhz/s bandwidth, and flat design make it a practical choice for a wide range of applications, including online gaming, streaming, and data transfer. The FTP shielding and PoE compatibility add to its value, providing enhanced performance and versatility. I highly recommend the UGREEN Cat 7 Ethernet Cable to anyone in need of a robust and efficient network solution for their internet, gaming, and entertainment needs.
I opted for the shortest cable to wire my games console to my router and everything’s worked correctly. The cable is a little stiff and I would probably go with an alternative make in the future, but that said there’s nothing wrong with this and the price is good!
I’d been having problems with my PC. When I ran the diagnostic tool, it instructed me to make a wired connection to my router rather than use Wi-Fi, which is what I normally use. This was most annoying. The ethernet cables I own are far too short for the job at hand & I certainly wasn’t about to cart my PC, monitor, keyboard & stuff through to the lounge so it could be closer to the router.
I decided to purchase a longer cable & turned, once again, to Amazon. Eventually, I chose the Ugreen ethernet cable. I’d purchased Ugreen products previously & had been entirely satisfied with them, so the decision was very easy. I’m a Prime Member so I knew I’d be offered next day delivery.
The cable duly arrived the next day & when connected, worked like a dream. It’s likely I will now use it for a permanent connection in preference to Wi-Fi.
To sum up: This cable is a reliable product, reasonably priced & manufactured by a trusted brand. Oh, & thanks once again to Amazon for getting my item to me at light speed! The whole purchasing experience was an absolute pleasure.
…from Internet box to computer. Like many leads there is not much negative to state or positive to build on, until it fails. As for questions on it’s Wi-Fi abilities I do wonder who creates these pages…
Good price for a quality lead that does exactly what it’s meant to do
Very well made, looks like it will last a lifetime.
If want faster gaming these are the ethernet cables you need especially if you use wired ethernet through electricity.
Whilst using this ethernet it has helped to stablise my connection and ensure that I suffer no drops in connection and I noticed a substancial increase in speeds likely down to this being a cabled connection of course. In games my ping never went above 3-4 and was highly stable. The actual product itself feels high quality and does not feel like it would just break with light bending or the connections on either end being flimsy. Therefore I would reccomend this product to any would be buyers.
My mbps for download jumped from 80 up to 130! Much stronger connection. Downloading games and playing online made a lot more easier with this cable.plus it’s a bargain!
I had been frustrated with my TV dropping the WiFi signal. I used this cable to connect my router directly to my TV. Have not had any problems since. Very satisfied.
Discreet cable – better than wifi for online gaming on PS4
A very handy and best value of money when you are working from Home
I have just got 500mb broadband but my PC was not getting more than 95. I replaced my old ethernet cable with this and now I’ve got 450mb. Highly recommend.
Bought this to help improve the hard wired speed of the connection from my router to tv and it certainly does that. Far superior to the cable it replaced.
It’s well made and flexible enough to fit into the cable tidy without any problems
cable quality good and sturdy connectors. Used for connecting my cctv system to my router and no issues
My ethernet cable was dead as my computer nearly fell and catching it in the process damaged the cable. So my laptop could not connect any longer but the magic happened when I plugged this brand new cable with an adapter: what a relief as I was concerned the issue was worse: now all is fine!…
Love the design and colour of these cables, it blends in to my setup and performs perfectly.
These cables are spot on very slim and unobtrusive, good quality as well
Likes: Flat ethernet cable, quality connectors, sturdy build.
Dislikes: None.
Well packaged and a speedy delivery. Plugged it in and my set top box connected to the router no problem. Really pleased.
Perfect for what I needed and it doesnt have loads of excess wire hanging abou
Very fast data transfer, great for gaming and high speed internet connection.
It’s solid and sturdy enough to last for a long time if use.
It’s worth the money.
Nice product did what it said. Covers on the ends were a nice touch
Love the quality, for a fair price. It’s also flat so it doesn’t tangle like others
works as it should at the moment so all good. not had it long
This was exactly what I needed and a real bargain buy at that…
o complaints. seems like good quality and powers my POE device with no problems
If you would rather portability over durability, then you will love this device! There is not much to add to its functionality as it does exactly as it says with an excellent connection.
Just be wary of your use case scenario. If you are constantly on the go and want to carry around an ethernet cable with you then I would recommend this
This is my 4th Ethernet cable, with my dog biting through 3 others. This so far has lasted the longest, is easy to set up, with it going perfectly under the door and the speeds are exactly what you would expect. 10/10
There are some rare occasions when the internet speed slows down and it would be faster again if I replug, not sure if its the problem of the accommodation or the cable, the accommodation sent people to check and claim that the internet is functioning normally.
I bought this cable to connect my router directly to my television to reduce the pull on my wifi.
The cable is sturdy and well made, great for the price and does the job I need it to. Plus it’s black and blends in with my other wiring rather than being the usual obvious white! Highly recommend
I can’t really tell a difference though the ping in games is now in single figures compared to the wifi I was using before on the ps5. The cable is well made and I don’t see an issue with the connector coming away from the wire. Good purchase.
A really good and well constructed cable. Came packaged well and with the ends fitted with plastic protection covers. Really professional.
My wifi signal isnt very good hence the need for a new Ethernet cable to connect our Hub to my new office set up. What a difference it’s made, the speed of connection is noticeable faster than our old BT cable. We bought the 20 metre length cable which has enabled us to hide the cable on its journey from downstairs to upstairs. All in all a great purchase.
I bought this product to stop having to change the existing cable between two computers. I chose the long version for greater flexibility.
I was impressed that the cable came in its own little pouch and, a nice touch, each end (i.e. plugged) was provided with a cover.
The cable works perfectly well.
I’m using this with an FTTP gigabit service. BT said I would be guaranteed 450 mbps download, I’m getting >900mbps – this cable is handling it with ease. recently redecorated the room but left this lying on the floor, it’s been trodden on, jammed in the door. still works fine.
Right out of the box these seemed to be a good quality product with well designed packaging and graphics. Hopefully a sign that someone has taken the product seriously. Having said that they are just a USB cable albeit a Cat 7 Gigabit Lan Network RJ45 High Speed one capable of handling 10Gps so there is not much more to say. They seem to work very well and they were a good price. I have only had them for a month or two so I have no idea how long they will last – do they wear out? A good value and well-presented cable that does what is says in the description.
1. Wi-Fi signal? Purpose of the cable is to do away with Wi-Fi so totally irrelevant star.
2. I don’t game, I am suing the computer to work from home so don’t require gaming speeds, irrelevant star.
3. Cable appears very well made, this cable was bought to replace a Cat 5 cable the was not man enough to utilise for working from home. With this cable I have not seen any data drop outs as were regularly observed on my Cat 5 cable.
I have given 5 stars because it does what it says it will do, now for the comments. I have an OLED TV a BT Halo Full fibre to the home router and a Panasonic DVD Blu ray player which were all connected via the provided yellow ethernet cables and of course the HDMI cables required. Everything worked absolutely fine in my amateur opinion. I read somewhere on the internet that these “FREE” ethernet cables provided with your apparatus are cheap and inferior and should be replaced with high quality Cat 7 ethernet cables for superior results (actually it was more technical than that but beyond my knowledge of such things). So long story short I replaced my Free ethernet cables with these high speed cat 7 cables, result is they work, but so did the others, is there a difference, well maybe but not to my amateur untrained eyes, so in conclusion very pretty nice flat cables which work.
I bought a singular wire as I heard great reviews over these Cat 7 cables and since i’ve worked from home the past year and a bit this wire has done nothing but be durable for me, I’ve even moved house since then! I have since purchased a second wire for my mrs to work from home with too as It provides great support and doesn’t tangle at all. I also swap out and use it for Gaming! Would recommend this wire.
I needed a cable to connect to my router so that when working I have a strong signal. I really like the fact that this cable is flat and easy to roll out. I also like to protectors on the ends that I replace each time I finish using it. My connection has been excellent while using it with a steady and strong signal (I have a signal gauge in the corner of my work screen). I would recommend.
I thought I was on top of technology, but I did not realise that some extremely innovative CAT 7 cables at brilliant prices can be obtained from Amazon.
This has replaced my plain/twisted old CAT 5 lead that looked on its last legs. [still worked]
– This flat cable would only have been a dream unless I browsed to it in Amazon.
– Really good design.
I bought this ethernet cable because I had a console in mind when purchasing and thought it made sense, rather than relying on my wifi signal, I could just plug it in and have more stable connection. The item is fantastic! It’s currently plugged into my PS5 where it lives for the time being, but it was just as reliable when I was having internet problems, and so plugged it into my laptop. Boom. Internet completely fixed, much better. Sturdy, highly, highly recommended – could easily buy another tbh as I have a spare port in my router.
Recently I moved to an apartment and the WiFi signal is not very good, I get 1gb speed (so they say) and the WiFi wasn’t working well enough at all. I did some research and come across this cable (which has the ability run at immense speeds)
Upon plugging this in to my modem and gaming pc, the reliability and speed of my internet went through the roof (maybe they was telling me the truth)
This product is that good I ordered two more (I now own three) just for back up.
Good buy, cheap decent quality, sleek packaging. All around good product.
Bought cable to connect work ‘phone via internet at home, so needed extra long cable as router at the other end of the house on another floor. Cable is flat so it is capable of going under the door. This allows me to work at home during lockdown, which is better than being in the office on my own!
Signal kept dropping off when connected to the virgin box whilst watching catch up TV so after fiddling with the modem and associated connections with no luck I thought I would give this a go.
Quality is top notch and although it has helped, catch up TV still plays up but reading online this is an issue with my particular virgin box so not the cables fault.
I’ve purchased 2 of these recently, 1 for my pc internet connection and 1 for my PS4.
The cables are flat and well made, come with connector protection caps so protect the business ends.
My ps4 was misbehaving recently with the LAN connection, the ethernet cable was old and although it did work it did seem like it didn’t really want to play, random disconnects ( not sure if this is the cable to fair ) and only about 37mbps download speed.
This new cable has a nice solid click when connecting to devices and as soon as I had swapped it over from the old cable I did a test connection on the PS4 and it connected immediately to the internet and gave me 77mbps download speed.
Great value and highly recommended.
Bought to compliment a Router for wi-fi signal enhancement. The router didn’t do the job, but I have no complaints about the cable. Sturdy, looks better quality than most and did the job asked of i
As it says on the box – its flat, it fits a treat under carpets and underlay, and is very flexible so you can get around corners pretty well ( mine goes up a flight of stairs under the carpet ).
As its Cat7 you don’t loose and speed ( I was using wireless before I had this and its about 5 times faster ). Plugs seem to be good quality – overall, its a good purchase.
Cat7 cable. The flat design was perfect to run along the skirting board and tucking in between the carpet to hide it. Much better than a round cable design. It then fitted flat under the door rail. It provides good bandwidth which I use for cloud gaming, the most demanding for streaming data.
Was cautious given some of the low ratings, but it’s fine for indoor use and my needs.
I had no issues with the quality of the 4K gaming while playing my online, No game lag like with the cable that came with the router, Downloads and even uploads seem to run a little faster than normal.
The only issue with this cable are the clips, I must of unplugged this cable from my router (For cleaning the dusty router) 3-4 times and the clip has snapped of the cable…….. The cable still works BUT the slightest knock will remove the cable from the port.
I ordered two of these cables and when they arrived I thought I had ordered the wrong thing. I am used to seeing round ethernet cables, so when I saw the cables were flat, I thought “oops”. But no, the connections were correct and they instantly worked when plugged in. They are exactly what I ordered. And arrived very fast, like UGreen products I have bought in the past when I buy cables. To be honest, nearly all my cables are from this supplier as I have never had any issues with their cables and dodgy cables can be a real nuisance. I’m not saying they are the cheapest cables, but reliability and quality is more important to me.
I have a Virgin Media fibre optic broadband connection which you will see had really good performance for download and upload already. I have attached a standard Windows 10 Network Test screen grab. I received
the card on the 16/8/2020 and did a test and then on the 17/8
I am now getting over 30% improvement on my upload speeds which I tested on two different days. Sunday and Monday and got the same results over the two days.
Before new cable Download 103 Mbps Upload 6.03
After new cable Download 117 Mbps Upload a whopping 9.76 which is an over 30% improvement.
Furthermore it seems like I am getting better quality video on my connected TV and monitor but that just could be me.
This UGREEN Ethernet cable is great quality and fits so well and the flatness makes it easy to use.
I would highly recommend this product. It will future proof my PC and network connections. I did not realise that an new Ethernet Cable would make such a difference.
This ethernet cable is pretty nice. In my case I only connected my desktop to my Virgin media router which is not that far away.
The cable it self is well made, when I took it out it felt fine.
This is an ethernet cable, don’t try to hang furniture from it. It’s been + 4 months using it. If my internet fails is because of Virgin Media.
I would buy again.
Like most people had to set up for WFH quickly. tried a few different cables which either broke quickly or did not have speed. This one is expensive but did the job and 2 months in working well. I like the fact its fast so fits under mat well and in a plastic step cover in office easily. The CAT 7 is fast and works well with my MacBook. no issues, fast delivery just expensive but also came in 15 metre length to go from router in living room, through all to office. all good
Bought this cable as my sons room is in a wifi dead spot in our house due to two brick walls between his pc and the router. Wifi booster had helped a little but not enough to make a real difference for his gaming pc. Now his pc is connected directly to the router and he has great internet speed all the time. Nice flat cable meant we could hide easily round the edges of rooms. Best of all I get peaceful evenings with no moaning about the wifi!
Very fast Ethernet cable, however does not meet the standards that are described online. It’s meant to be 600MHz and 10Gbps but I’m getting 300mps maximum. This is still a huge improvement as I used to be getting around 20mps, but I guess my hopes of having insane upload and download speeds are unrealistic. Overall good value for money but doesn’t fully provide what it’s meant to.
I bought three of these cables to allow using around my home with three Devolvo electric plug cable receiver units to run Ethernet cables from each plug unit extension to the relevant audio or computer. As a result such units are now hardwired for WiFi connections and the cables are perfect length and also durable for the environment they need to work in (kitchen, study etc.). In particular the plastic ends are very well capped and push in connections are tight.
Great value for the price
I bought the 5m cable to wire an Imac to the router. The line is really easy to secrete along the wall and it has given me a reliable 100m connection from the router (that’s what my broadband advertises anyway). With two kids and a pandemic, we’re working from home so it’s important to maximise the broadband; this is a cheap and reliable line which works well for us. Only time will tell its durability, but for now, two thumbs up.
OK, you’re maybe thinking about how I can say ‘good design’ of a network cable. The issue is in most cases either the ‘clip’ has no protection at all, and gets snagged and then breaks off, of they put a full ‘boot’ over the clip which protects the actual clip but then makes it difficult to use when the ‘boot’ goes hard and you need small yet extremely strong fingers to unplug a cable. This design put a shield inline of the clip to protect it, yet since it doesn’t cover the clip completely it still makes unplugging a cable a piece of cake.
Ideally I would have got the white cable but they’d run out. Nevertheless, this cable worked straight away. This brought my “smart” TV back to life after its internal wireless adapter failed. The cable is easy to place due to its flat construction and it is tough enough too so that I don’t have any worries about breakage that might be caused by rough handling. Data transfer is good enough for the litte streaming that I do. Can’t say anything about gaming or the like as I don’t.
This UGREEN Ethernet Cable was great for going between my BT Smart Hub and my SkyQ Box (I was having trouble getting a signal from my SkyQ box to my SkyQ mini disks upstairs so tried this which seemed to work great along with a 2Mt Ethernet cable between my BT Disc (broadband signal booster) and my SkyQ mini Disk, 5, on time, as described and I am very happy with Seller. Thanks
Amazing, i bought this for my computer room and it’s amazing. I used to use a dongle but got a new pc so wanted something better.
It runs all the way from the router, up the stairs, across the landing and across a small room into my computer and it loses no speed at all as if it were next to router.
Is nice and flat so can run under carpets nicely and is a decent durable quality.
Used to get 0.8mb/s download speed in that room now I get 8mbs. With Prime to what’s not to like?
I’m really impressed with these UGREEN Cat 7 flat cables so far and have bought several of them now, of varying lengths. I’ve started to use 10GbE Ethernet and needed some cables that were up to the task. Some of my old cables were ropey old Cat 5e or Cat 6 cables and would most likely cause no end of headaches trying to use them for 10GbE.
Another problem with a lot of Cat 6 and Cat 6a cables is that they are becoming incredibly thick and somewhat unmanageable but the unique ribbon design of these cables makes these really nice to work with. They fit very neatly into plastic trunking and can even be laid flat under a carpet and be barely noticeable.
What’s really surprising is how small a package the 20m version of this cable arrives in which shows just how compact they are when coiled up.
Initially, due to the flat design, I was concerned that the signal quality would degrade and I would get Tx/Rx errors at 10GbE speeds but these cables work perfectly and I’ve had no issues at all.
The cables are well made with moulded RJ45 plugs with gold plated sheilding on them. The cables come with a plastic protective cover over the RJ45 plug which needs to be removed before you use it but can also be put back on if the cable is not going to be used.
These are good cables and I highly recommend them
Pros:
– Work perfectly at 10GbE
– Unique thin ribbon design makes cable management very easy
– Gold plated RJ45 plug shielding
Cons:
– None but if you don’t require Cat 7 then there are cheaper options available
Having upgraded the router & service , and not seeing much ( if any) increase in speed, ordered both 10m and 2m cables in case the problem was ‘home side’ . Not a huge investment if it was a router issue.
Arrived on time and having read a few reviews saying delivered with faults, did go through the routine of checking them out before committting to their final cable runs! Both worked absolutely fine.
Highly impressed with the connection quality. Speed over both distances has now maxed out at the capacity of the router / ISP service, 140Mb. I was lucky to get 75Mb before – with admittedly older cables.
And as a nice side note, come with protective clips on the connectors for use during transport, or when feeding through awkward spaces and tight squeezes.
These are the real deal.
So far so good with this neat cable, and it is neat: being flat it sits tidily behind ornaments etc. As for cable versus Wireless? That depends on your priorities. Wireless reduces cable-clutter; but, in the short time I have used these cables, I have to say it feels like a faster and more robust internet connection than wireless, so I have no hesitation recommending these cables, so long as the router is within a reasonable distance from the computer.
I got some ethernet adaptors as I was having some problems with my broadband. I had quite a few devices on wireless connection to the router. I’m gradually moving some of them over to ethernet through power line adaptors. So far that seems to be working ok. I don’t play any video games, so I can’t comment on how that would perform.
First of all, we all know the complications that come when dealing with the internet. But now I have internet… IN CABLE FORM. And five meters of it!!! I can now enjoy my anime in full HD with no buffering! Manga is just not the same. However with this cable I have nothing to worry about. Thank you bill gates.
I used this to link a media PC to a BT homehub after I noticed the transfer speed over wifi was terrible. I think it was the USB wifi dongle that was causing the issue (cheap one). I decided to go for a wired option as opposed to buying a new wifi dongle/card and it’s working very well.
The flat design is great as it routes well and runs under a rug without a bump. I stream media from the media PC to Plex on a Roku and it’s very fast. No complaints would buy again.
This is obviously a quality product but Ugreen have gone a little further with some nice touches. Protective caps for the RJ45, Nice packaging and a little thank you card. I needed this for a TV connected to a power adapter, it stopped working and I thought it might be a problem with the TV. It turned out I should have been using CAT 7 all along. Ugreen promised next day delivery through PRIME and were true to their word, I could have found cheaper if I’m honest but I needed it quickly, I will however be going back to Ugreen for future network components. I haven’t rated for gaming as I haven’t tested it on my gaming rig or PS3. I’m sure it will be good though. Value for money is only 4 stars because you can find the same items cheaper on Amazon.
This is a good quality flat cat 7 Ethernet cable that is shielded to help stop signal interference. When I received this my first impression was that the outer shell of the cable is thin as you can see the impression of the wires underneath. Also this is advertised as being particularly easy to bend because it is flat but I don’t think this is the case in practice. In fact I would say that a round cable might even be easier to bend in some circumstances.
However this is still a high quality cable and way better than most brands. I also like the gold plated connectors and they even arrived with plastic covers to protect the ends.
I have bought quite a few of these cables of different lengths to extend my hard wired coverage within my
home. These cables are very well made and now that I’ve set up an ethernet switch I now get high speed broadband across my home without any discernible loss of speed. Also, being flat they are easy to set up and do not tangle. I have a PS$, two TVs, a SKY Q system and two computers set up using these cables. Recommended
I have been having problems persuading my Plex server to reliably stream high bitrate 4K HDR content across my home network. Every component in the network is Gigabit Ethernet and the cable was decent quality Cat5e. The existing cable should have been up to the job, but it wasn’t.
I bought several of these Cat7 cables to run around the house and to use as patch cables. Problem solved. Video happiness has been restored.
The construction of the cables seems to be top notch. All the cables are housed in cable channels running around the house. The flat construction of the cable made it very easy to install them along with speaker and power cables. Probably this stuff is overkill for most systems but they are cheap enough to install as futureproofing and might just solve problems similar;ar to mine.

A great seller, Item as is described, No issue with delivery, No issue with packaging. I upgraded the cable from a Cat 5 to this Cat 7, it runs from a PS4 to hub and straight away i noticed a differences in speed with the internet, the cable is flat which makes it a lot easier to tidy cables up. I would recommend this seller to family and friends, 100% happy
I’ve been using free cables that I’ve had for years (nicked from work!) and recently had lots of random dropouts on my uplink between router and ubiquity access point. Tried some other utp cables of similar age, but fault persisited.
Switched to new UGREEN, no dropouts. Connection is rock solid. Don’t be tempted to save a quid and buy sommat cheaper. These cables are fantastic. Will be buying more to replace other ageing cables in my home network.
Purchased this item as my PS4 performance over wi-if wasn’t the best. After connecting the cable both download & upload speeds trebled so I’m very happy. Item is of good quality. One piece of advice – the connectors are packed with a protective plastic cover which are best removed prior to installation! Doh
These ethernet cables are not like cables I have seen and used before. They are completely flat, and this makes them extremely flexible and useful for awkward situations where the cable needs to be bend to be effectively positioned.
We use this to put IP phones exactly where we want them on desks in the office and they work very well for this purpose. With other ethernet cables that are round and traditional, there is less flexibility and movement available in the cable and extensive bending can cause damage to them. However these cables bend very well and do not experience any damage.
The cables are also very high quality, cat 7 and work on a gigabit connection straight down to our top class fibre connection.
Overall, I would highly recommend these internet cables for an office environment where you may end up bending the cables and do not wish to risk damaging them.
I’ve worked in I.T over 20 years, so I’ve seen quite a lot of Ethernet cables in my time. Since finding these cables on Amazon, I only buy these for use in my home now.
> Fast
> Very well made
> Look very nice (where seen)
I have quite an extensive network set-up for a small house; with Devolo powerline adapters in most rooms and a Q-Nap server handling my Home streaming system. This means a lot of cables and the good quality ones are generally quite thick and not very flexible.
I saw these when looking for what Cat 7 meant and offered. I bought 4 x 3 metre units to cover my more crucial connections and was amazed at the ease with which they could be led round corners etc and how neat they are.
Of course the “proof of the pudding is in the eating” and I was not disappointed; I have a Fire Streamer and it occasionally dropped it’s connection. Not any more; also I have noticed that the folders etc are loading far faster over my streaming Network from the Qnap up in my room.
Consequence? I am just putting in an order for another four units. Enough said?
I bought 6 of the 2m CAT7 cables and 2 of the 3m CAT cables, from UGREEN. I guess the whole point of a good Ethernet cable is that it should be wholly unnoticeable in use. You shouldn’t be aware of the connections. The data should just be there when you need it. As soon as you become conscious of a cable (or switch or any other part of a network) something is wrong.
So it’s very hard to write an effective review of something that shouldn’t have any notable characteristics in use.
However, there are several circumstantial features that make you feel this is the ‘right’ cable. The packing is neat and tidy. Each cable came tidily rolled (admittedly much easier with this flat cable than round) in its own separate sealed plastic pouch. I have bought cables in the past where a jumble of wires with their own twists were pushed in a single bag. Even before you get to the cable, UGREEN seems to indicate neatness and precision.
Opening the plastic pouch reveals what gives the appearance of a well-designed and well-constructed cable. The two cable plugs have protective caps on them (remove before using) and the plug clips are the increasingly common over-lapping pair of levers. The cable entry on the plug is neat and doesn’t need to be as heavy duty as on round cables as the flat cable should only be flexing in one axis.
So, I haven’t done any objective measurement of conductivity or data transmission speed. I haven’t destroyed a cable to check whether each of the twisted pair wires is separately shielded. I haven’t done any analysis of the contacts to check for gold plating thickness. But the bits that I can check with the human eye and hand do feel very convincing and reliable. I trust these cables and expect them to give a long unnoticeable life. Well done UGREEN.
