Perfektes Gert, sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhltnis, Touch funktioniert groartig, tolle Kamera.
My latest car was too old for the stock stereo to have anything modern, and I missed Apple CarPlay which I had in my previous car.
This stereo was a reasonably priced way to refresh my ICE setup. I especially like that this works by wifi with my iPhone, so I do not even need to physically plug it in to work.
I ran into some trouble getting to installed, and Keith (seller) sorted me out quickly.
I’ve not used the main stereo functions much as I have it open up into Apple CarPlay immediately, but I did go through settings and was able to get the screen brightness/colour and sound distribution setup quickly.
Would recommend for 150.
Pros:
Relatively easy to install
Pixel quality is half decent
Apple Car Play works and is decent
Touch sensitivity and response is good
Cons:
Quite difficult to find a facia for. As it’s not a standard size, most mass produced facias aren’t going to fit.
Radio is not the best. Finding channels can be quite tricky as it doesn’t appear to have am/fm/DAB options and just has a standard radio output. As such, Capital, Clyde 1 etc is difficult to find.
Overall – you get what you pay for and more. I bought this for Apple Car Play and it works. What more could you want for 150.
Buyer tip: don’t waste your time with Halfords ISO harnesses for fitting. I bought this for my Audi TT and had to splice wires only for half the audio output to work. Save time and just buy the full fitting kit off incartec.co.uk instead. Trust me.
The Audio System in my 2006 Porsche Cayenne failed, to replace it with the same unit would cost about 3000 however I saw this and decided to try it, the radio comes with a plug and wiring loom which has to be spliced into your existing wiring, unless you know what you are doing you will come unstuck, however i discovered it is the same plug as a Kenwood and you can buy pre wired plugs on amazon so check that out first, The unit is first class and has upgraded my car to modern day Apple Car Play, which means I can use siri to read texts, dial calls, set the Satellite Navigation Display (Car Play Mirrors your iPhone). I can thoroughly recommend it, it also comes with a reversing camera set which I didnt fit)
Also if your car isnt already a Double Din Radio I would first check there is room for it to fit, and then factor in a fascia plate, and a double din cage which is easier to fit than the brackets that are supplied with the uni
Kurz: Das Gert hlt was es verspricht.
Car Play funktioniert einwandfrei und sehr schnell.
Toller Bildschirm, Touchscreen schnell & Flssig.
Danke Keith !
Preis/Leistung passt fr mich auf jeden Fall !
The radio interface and functionalities are excellent, it’s worth the money you pay for it.
I had trouble with my Android Phone connecting to it and reached out to Keith who was extremely helpful in trying to solve my problem. Unfortunately, it did not work with my specific phone model (Xiaomi), but as I was upgrading to a new iPhone, it worked perfectly with it!
Please check that your phone does work with it before buying it but if you need any assistance be sure that they will try their best to help you out!
Needed an additional harness for my vw transporter. Also 20 worth of other things like fuse piggy back, aerial adapter etc. Bit disappointed as havent saved money but still. The unit is okay so far but touch screen very laggy you have to push hard! Support from them was okay bit slow to reply to emails though
Really good quality the touchscreen doesn’t lag and the sound is really loud and good quality. Setup was alittle difficult but was worth it. The microphone works great and the reverse camera works great.
I installed mine on a Defender 2 DIN dashboard upgrade, and it seems that 2 DIN is not as standard as expected. I had to enlarge the hole to fit the radio, but the frame that came with the radio fits very well and hid all the cutting imperfections.
After the initial install I noticed that all settings and time got reset if the car was switched off. This was because the wiring on my Defender had the ignition switch and constant power swapped, according to the radio wiring diagram for ACC and BT+. The clear instructions allowed me to swap these wires at the connector and everything worked fine.
I have installed the camera and microphone and everything is working as expected.
The reverse camera opens fast when put the car in reverse. I didn’t test a front camera, but the wiring is there and looks like it would be as easy to setup.
It would be great if it would be possible to customise the dashboard buttons/apps/options. There are 3 pages of icons and it’s annoying and can be distracting to swipe through pages, when I could have on a single one everything that I need. I don’t have any Android device and if I’d remove those buttons only for Android I could get rid of 4 icons. I imagine that an Android user also doesn’t care that the first button is the CarPlay for iPhones and they would love to hide that one as well.
The interface is not as fast and snappy as to what we have from smartphones. It can be a bit slow to react to touch, especially swiping and scrolling.
The radio interface could be so much better, especially with the station memory slots. They are store and listed with their frequency rather than their RDS names.
The DAB antenna socket is not present on the back but the electronics are all there, only not soldered the connector socket. It is a shame that they use these selling tactics to over sell higher “spec” radios for tens more pounds with a single few pence component missing. With the radio user interface I also doubt that the DAB features would bring much big difference (station name and text, song being played, etc), when not a simple proper RDS usage is present.
In overal the price matches what the product delivers.
Review updated below, had problems but the customer support is incredible and helped a lot, have left my original review in here, but appended with update at the bottom for full info
TLDR: It’s good, I’m happy, does what it needs to, there are improvements that could be made but it’s amazing for the money, the customer service is absolutely perfect, which is good because you’ll probably need it, the instructions aren’t right so it won’t work 100% until they send you videos (or read below), but when you have that sorted it’s great.
ORIGINAL 1* REVIEW (04/06/2022):
Received this a couple of weeks ago, finally got around to fitting it yesterday. There was a pack of 6 dome headed screws and 2 small black self tapping screws supplied, not the 10 countersunk screws that were supposed to be supplied according to the instructions. Makes it impossible to fit the mounting brackets, so had to replace with other screws I had knocking around. Fully wired up this unit but have had enough issues with it already that it is going back.
I can connect via bluetooth to the device and play and control music on it, the sound is fine, also plays radio fine. However, the wireless Android Auto will not work, tried connecting via bluetooth and/or wifi together and individually, no joy.
When I connect over bluetooth my phone (Samsung S21 Ultra, so hopefully modern enough for all the bells and whistles to work) notices it is connected via bluetooth to a device with wireless Android Auto and gives me a notification to tell me to press the Android Auto icon on the unit, however opening it on the unit does nothing, the unit is sat waiting for a connection and my phones notification doesn’t change. Note, Android Auto works when I plug it in via the USB though, however I bought this specifically to use on wireless as I want to be able to charge my device on a fast charger at the same time.
Also, I have completely wired up all the steering wheel controls and the instructions say you need to go to SWC in the settings menu to assign actions to the steering wheel controls, but having gone in every menu/submenu in the settings over and over again I can say without a shadow of a doubt the options aren’t there on the unit I received at least.
Having walked away from trying to sort this all last night and coming back to it again today to see if I can resolve it I considered that there might be something I need to select in the settings to enable the SWC settings menu. While going through the settings to turn things on/off I changed a setting from NTSC to PAL, I assumed at worst this would change the settings of the video output at the rear… Turns out it’s the setting for the actual units display, which must be an NTSC display. So now when the unit boots I get the loading screen and after about 10% it obviously switches to PAL mode and the display blanks.
I would have assumed that an option to essentially brick your device wouldn’t exist, or hopefully not be in the main settings menu, maybe even behind some sort of password blocked admin menu or at a minimum a warning or an option to confirm the settings change. There is actually another factory menu in the settings menu that requires a passcode to get in it, I don’t know why the brick your stereo option isn’t buried deeply within that…
I have absolutely no idea how to resolve this problem, there is a “RST” button on the front, I’ve tried pressing and holding this using a pin for 2/3/5/10/15 seconds with the ignition key on and off, tried pulling the plug at the rear of the unit to depower it, nothing seems to reset this setting. I’ve also tried plugging in my laptop via the USB hoping the unit will be seen as a USB device so I could see if I could remotely change settings, but it doesn’t recognise it…
I’m aware I’m partially to blame by changing a setting I shouldn’t have, but really it shouldn’t have been an option, plus I had a bunch of other issues before hand, so now I’ve just applied for a return, will go back to the previous cheap stereo I wasn’t really happy with either!! Shopping again, maybe will need to throw down some proper money for a decent stereo…
As far as my ratings go, I gave 2 stars to the touch screen because one other problem I faced before bricking it was the touch screen calibration menu didn’t work, it brings up +’s to tap to calibrate the screen but at the end of the calibration it just brought up a frowny face and started the calibration again, turning the vehicle off didn’t help, it just stayed in screen cal mode, had to unplug the unit to allow it to boot normally again. And for ease of installation you need to cut the wires from your current stereo and be electrically minded enough to understand what each wire does and crimp on bullet connectors to connect up this stereo as it doesn’t run off the universal stereo connector you might get from Halfords etc.
UPDATE (see attached pics relating to the below):
Have been contacted by the seller and they sent me a replacement stereo for free, which this time actually included a cable going from the universal stereo connector to the one specific for this stereo, however the screws are still the wrong type and quantity of screws to actually mount it.
Despite this I electrically installed the stereo again but still had the same issues regarding wireless Android Auto and SWC (steering wheel controls).
Seller sent me some videos detailing the steps to get the Android Auto and SWC working. These videos gave more information which didn’t match the instructions.
Regarding the SWC, the instructions don’t mention it, but you have to go to the following menus, Settings > Factory Settings > Password 123456 > Settings, THEN there is an option to calibrate the SWC. The instructions which you can see attached don’t mention the factory settings menu or password required to get into it. After doing this the SWC now work.
Regarding the wireless Android Auto, there are no instructions in the manual regarding the use of the wireless Android Auto, however the wired Android Auto works automatically when you plug in via USB. When you connect to the stereo over bluetooth you get a pop up on the stereo showing your phone is connected, you can play music over bluetooth, but if you select Android Auto on the display it says that for a wireless connection you have to connect over bluetooth, depite already being connected, and the notification on your phone shows Android Auto is available, and it tells you to continue you need to select it on the screen which you have done, but no matter what you do you can’t get it to work…
So, the video sent to me by the seller shows you need to connect to the stereo over wifi, then if you previously connected over bluetooth you need to unpair and then pair your phone again, when the pop up goes on the screen showing your phone is connected you have to actually tap on the text (so in the picture I have attached, I have to tap on the text “Jonathan’s S21 Ultra”). You can’t tap the icon or anywhere else, you have to tap on the text itself, if you do this Android Auto opens. If you don’t do it and the notification goes away and you are connected bluetoothing music etc, you can’t then just select Android Auto, you have to unpair and pair your phone again, or perhaps turn the vehicle off and wait a few seconds before turning it back on to get that pop up again.
THIS ALL BEING SAID… Now when I turn my car on, my bluetooth finds the stereo, the pop up comes up, Android Auto on my phone enables the wifi and connects to the display over it (only for a connection to the stereo I assume, but it still uses my mobile data on my phone for actual data as that wireless connection obviously doesn’t go to the outside world), I tap the text and I’m in Android Auto, which is where I’ll be whenever I’m using the stereo. At an estimate, this all takes about 40 seconds every time I turn the car on. It seems to work nicely, sounds good and all my problems are resolved. I do agree with a lot of others, the display is a little laggy but absolutely usable, not really a problem, I’ve tried calibrating it, but didn’t change anything. The first stereo I had I couldn’t calibrate the touch, but the second one seems to work. Overall I’m happy with what I’ve ended up with, it does everything I want and works nice enough, it’s no premium top end stereo but it’s amazing for the money and with wireless Android Auto it’s great. If you play a video on your phone (while parked) and have it connected wirelessly then there is audio lag, but you can connect over the wired connection and it’s fine. I’m being picky because I have this in a campervan that I spend half my life in while away for work, so this is a heavily used item for me.
All in all, 4*
Had issues with first unit but had a new one sent out and works perfectly cant recommended Keith enough
Item works great apart from the volume randomly turning its self to zero with out me changing i
Update 10/05/22
Seller reached out and sent a replacement radio. This was much better than the original. Still slightly laggy at times but nothing major.
Thanks.
—————————
Radio quality was awful, couldn’t get a good signal on any radio station. Aerial works fine with other radios.
Wireless CarPlay was extremely laggy and temperamental when connecting.
Touch screen was ok for most things, but trying to use Waze the calibration was out. Tried to calibrate and just got stuck in a never ending loop of calibration.
It might seem like a decent deal at that price, but just spend a bit more and get a Pioneer or something. Sent this back after 24 hours.
After purchasing this stereo and having some problems due to the firmware I got in touch with the company they did some trouble shooting and sent me a new stereo out absolutely hassle free the stereo it’s self is grea
Amazing value, dead easy to install, wireless android auto and apple carplay for under 200 ! Installed in my Audi TT MK2 (8j) with an adapter kit from Halfords.
Awesome interface, aesthetic and functionality and all for less than 150. Amazing value. Sound quality is excellent and I’m yet to find any fault. Highly recommended.
Simple fitting, I ordered a wired CarPlay version but was upgraded to a wireless. Easy to use? Does what it says on the box
Persiana automatizada, me he olvidado de ella, programas horarios y te olvidas.
App Anbindung ber Life App manuell nicht erfolgreich. Mech. Baumartschalter sind ft viel teurer. Sehr gutes Produkt.
Macht einen wertigen Eindruck…
Einfach zu installieren.
Funktioniert vorbehaltlos, auch mit Alexa!
Die stop-Funktion ber smart-life bzw.
