I needed a mouse trap to catch mice feeding off my bird tray: rats meet their end there from an air rifle pellet but the rim around the tray provides almost complete cover for a mouse. I wanted a trap that would allow me to release unharmed any bird that might be trapped. I haven’t caught any mices yet but I live in hope. The metal reinforcement/ anti-escape-by-chewing parts are plated steel (magnet test,) so will probably rust after extensive use outdoors. I put the bait in the pot at the end of the trap, with the intention to make a mouse move all the way over the trip plate, which will, I hope, overcome reports of a need to add weight on the trip plate to be sure it will move under the weight of a mouse and close the trap. Maybe I have smart mice but one time (so far,) they pushed the trap onto its side, presumably to cause the bait to fall out of the pot, thus disarming the trap (they ate all the bait!) Now it is screwed to a piece of wood to make it more difficult to cowp (I had to open up the fixing holes provided slightly: they seem to be sized for clock-makers’ screws.)

The very first night we put this trap out our little lodger was caught, safe and sound. As far as bait went, we found whole grain seeded bread very effective – he absolutely loved it. Releasing him was safe and easy left him some bread for the road and haven’t seen him since.

I am really happy with this mouse trap – it’s super easy to use, great instructions, and caught our small furry house guest in one night without any harm. It seems to be sturdily made and I’m sure will serve its purpose for many years to come. Very happy customer!

Simple to use. Dry food works best as it’s a bit awkward to clean. Secure closure means it’s easy to transport to relocate / release.

Well I have to say this trap works, I’ve caught a few mice & I release them easily a few miles away.
Just the job, did order a couple more as cleaning can be a bit awkward if gets to messy, but a little brush can help to get inside & nice to have a spare.
I do recommend this product. Thank you.

I wasn’t hopeful after seeing the size of the rat in my garden but i’m pleased to say fatty ratty managed to squeeze in after a couple of days . It has now emigrated to the countryside and as recommended, I hope it doesn’t fancy the 5 mile walk back!!! Now to see if he had any mates…

    Yay it worked 🎉

So easy to use. Caught the mouse we’d been after within 24 hours of setting the trap. Used cashew cuts to entice it inside and placed a 2p coin on the trigger just to add some weight. I found 2 x 2p coins was too much weight and set the trap off. Really impressed and thoroughly recommend. We caught and released away from the house down the local woods.

    ***Well impressed***

Our cat brought back a small field mouse, which got away from her and hid. I used Nutella spread as bait, put a couple of coins (5p & 10p) on the lever, and left it overnight. This morning, I got up to find a happy mouse in the trap, replete from a tasty snack! I let him out into the field at the bottom of the garden and he cheerfully scurried away. The cat went out not long after, but at least Mousey got a fair head start.

I can’t believe how good this little product is. Every night I had a mouse in each of two. Hopefully, we have caught the whole bunch.
It’s very easy to use but a little tricky when you want to release the rodent. I absolutely hate mouse/rats and fear of getting bitten. The latch is a little too close for me to release the mouse but used a stick to avoid close contact. Overall works perfectly. I would highly recommend this product if you do not want buy a killer mouse trap and safe to use with kids around.

We’ve had some other humane traps down now for a few days. So humane, the mice wander in, eat to their hearts content and then leave with whatever is left.

Then I got two of these. One in the garage, one in the loft. In five hours we’ve caught four mice. Must have more than we thought.

It’s costing me in chocolate hob nobs but cripes these traps work.

I was a bit sceptical at first, since other traps had not worked with the mice in question. Within a couple of days, using fresh Mango, I caught them. It was a bit of rigmarole transporting the mice to the countryside, but worth it!

Set it up at 23:00, caught the mouse at 01:15.
Had a camera setup also so I could see it working.

I used a 50p and a 1 coin tapped together as weight to make sure.
    I used peanut butter.

Only slight issue is that it isn’t the easiest to clean out the peanut butter afterwards but even if it was a single use trap, 10 and 100% success within 3hrs is still great value in my eyes.

    It works

What a product. I couldn’t be happier. My idiot cats bring mice into my house fairly regularly, but it’s then up to me to catch them and release them back to the moors. This can take days (I leave food out for the mice so they don’t go hungry). Had a lodger for a week so bought this. It arrived today. I put the mouse’s food in today. Caught and released it tonight. Well done, this is perfect.

We have a bit of a problem with mice in our loft. I don’t agree with killing them so wanted a nice way to remove them, and these traps are doing the job nicely.
A bit of peanut butter in the trap and it lures them in. The mice we’ve caught so far are all happily eating the peanut butter, have room to move within the trap, and have airflow. It’s easy to use, a little faffy to clean but overall a great product and one I’d recommend

We discovered that we had a mouse living in our garage. Not surprising as that’s where the bird food is kept, although in plastic tubs. Started using our IIWEY humane mouse trap and so far we have caught 4, one on almost every day! We did what the reviews suggested and put a couple of 10p coins on the black ‘platform’. The mice are very small (and cute), and being lightweight they may not trigger the door mechanism attached to the platform. It’s easy to release each mouse over the local park. we’re hoping that could be the last one, but the trap will stay for a week or two just in case. Highly recommended.

I was absolutely amazed at the simplicity and sensitivity of the trap. Easy to open and room for food at the end. The little uninjured field mouse that we got as a present from the cat must have smelled the crumbled up peanuts we placed in the trap. As soon as the light went out he ran into the trap, the door closed when he stepped on the plate and he didn’t even know he had been caught. He seemed happy enough and was only a bit nervous when I picked the see though trap up. Took him or her along to the local cemetery, far enough away that he was out of the cats reach and he lived happily ever after.

My cat keeps bringing mice in and after a few times of letting them go and my OH chasing the wee thing to release them back outside. The one we bought it for sadly died and was found weeks later, somewhere completely different to where we thought it was. Well the cat took a new one round the very next day. Didnt make it upstairs this time so was easier to locate and was caught and released within a few hours if setting trap. No photos as im feert and the cat was trying to get in the trap and i didnt want the mousey anymore traumatised than it was. So OH set him free to live another day. Well worth money and easy cleaned for re-set next time Loki cat takes one home.

Thought we may have had a mouse getting at wild bird food in the utility room. Well, had this down for around 10 days and have now caught about 13 mice. Easy to use. I place a few peanuts and broken cheese biscuit in as bait. You have to take care that bits of bait don’t end up beneath the trigger plate, as will stop it being triggered. Not sure if any we’ve caught are the same mice, as have been told mice can find their way back over 100s of meters (was letting them go100m or so away). May have to box them up and take them miles away

Previously bought a metal heavy duty, humain multiple mouse catcher trap and after some testing of bait managed to bag one mouse. Took around 2 weeks, and my wildlife camera installed in garage, confirmed there was at least one other mouse. Several weeks later, but no second mouse in trap, camera showed mouse moving around metal trap, but reluctant to enter!
Decided at the price, would give this one a go, really easy to set up, just remove closed end of trap(press tabs to release), fill feeding tray with wild bird seed, reattach end. Place on ground, move side tab to release trap door and raise trap and that’s it. I placed some wild bird seed at entrance, which mouse started to eat and then ventured in for more seeds and “YOUR TRAPPED!”
Took mouse and trap on my walk, +2 miles from home and placed trap on floor opened door and mouse disappeared into undergrowth.
Can’t recommend this trap enough, easy to set up and trap door closes quickly and quietly, which hopefully means less stress for mouse! I’ve reset up, just in case we have a bigger family of mice!

Golden Review Award: 34 From Our UsersMy two darling Tom cats love to catch mice and bring them in to play with them.
It was getting rediculous. But I bought these because they are clear and mice won’t go into them if there’s no light.
They can run over them but if you put them at the corner or gap behind a cuboard they will run into them especially if being hunted by a cat or two. We’ve caught all them that they bring in.
Once caught the mice freak out as my cats pounce on it but can’t work out why they can’t get at it.
I usually bring it outside letting the cats follow, then release it in the garden and let the cats have their fun.
To be fair it usually gets away.
But hey there’s always another day lol

I noticed some mice in the garden, probably living under the garden shed. So rather than just put down poison (we have kids and dogs) I thought it would be more fun to involve the children, so I bought two of these traps, one for each child. They had fun baiting them with different foods, placing them in different locations, and in the first week of operation they’ve caught five mice. They check the traps before they go to school, when they come back from school and before bedtime. We then release the mice about a mile down the road in the open countryside, where we assume they will be very happy. These traps seem fairly foolproof, although placing them on gravel can cause stones to get jammed in the doorway allowing the mouse to escape, so I recommend placing on firm level ground. They still working when it’s raining so that shows that they don’t need to be undercover. They’re all plastic, but well-made.

    works great, even for kids

Have been aware of activity in my loft for a while, tried other humane traps and nothing. Bought this one after reading good reviews. Baited it with chicken, ham, cheese and some sunflower seeds and on the second night to my delight I have caught one of the little critters, I have deposited him in an area of rough long grass to the back of my house and wished him farewell and good luck. I’m sure he’s not alone and I will carry on putting the trap up in my loft. Would 100% recommend this trap. It’s cheaper than others, very easy to set up and clean and does what it says on the box. As you can see in the photo I did use the coin trick

    It works !

Golden Review Award: 34 From Our UsersCaught two in a conventional trap and felt awful so I bought two to put in different places in our garage.
Caught one on the first night by leaving a bit of peanut butter near the trigger-ramp.
In the morning I covered it in a tea towel and moved it to a safe location and released the mouse unharmed.
    Week later, repeat.

There was mouse urine and poo to clean out afterwards and it is not easy to get in all the corners and grooves in this thing (you can’t fit your hand in to do this.)
Took a while with some hot water and a bucket of suds.
    Worth it though.
    The mice were unharmed.
    The trap worked.
They could not gnaw their way out.

Just remember the check them everyday and your good to go.

I was concerned it wouldn’t work and I’d have to go down the route of a lethal trap which I really didn’t want. Thought it wasn’t working, changed bait, realised it was working, adjusted weighting and got ‘im!

    Main tips for use
    1. Use a small amount of peanut butter and some high-quality birdseed, like the stuff with raisins and suet pellets. This helped me to spot he’d visited, eaten everything and left without the trap triggering
    2. It was excellent that the instructions gave the trigger weight of 4g, so I used plasticine, measured 3g and stuck that on the trigger, it was easier than messing about with coins
    3. Once the mouse was caught we put the whole trap in a cardboard box and get to fields/long grass/parkland to release him
    4. Simple, just tip the trap, press the release trigger and he’s off into freedom

Very happy with the result and the ease of release

*Update 15th Mar, caught a second the next night and last night caught the third and hopefully last one. This third was was able to trip and flee before the lid came down, so after cleaning the trap I added a new plasticine weight of 4g and it did the trick

It worked - and some hints for getting results

Better quality trap than the small cheaper ones which the mice chew through. This one is bigger so the mouse has room to move about before being released. More humane & good quality plastic so that they stay put until let go. A little tricky to clean but would recommend.

  56. Lynwood1573 says:

This is a good trap. Its easy to set, keeps the trapped animal from escaping without harming it and is easy to bait too. Its also very easy to clean afterwards. Metal linings prevent the mouse from escaping once trapped.

A removable end section allows bait to be set into a tray, then its just a question of re-fitting it, lifting the catch on the door at the opposite end and opening the door fully to set the trap.

I used a piece of chocolate smeared with hazelnut chocolate spread, an irresistible lure for any mouse with taste.

I added two coins on the outside of the trap on the cantilever hinge point to increase the sensitivity and it worked on day one, trapping the mouse overnight and he or she was released without harm in a field the following morning.

It has a couple of drawbacks but these are easily remedied. Firstly the slots on the end are quite wide so if your bait is going, its possibly because a small mouse is able to go into and out of the trap through these slots and is just feasting on the food. Experts say small mice can squeeze through spaces just 5mm wide. So I fixed some wire mesh beneath the metal guard to solve this.

The next issue is the weight required to trip the door. A very small mouse wont push the plate down unless its very sensitive. I weighed mine so that plate drops under gravity with nothing on it then when its set up, the wright of the door just keeps the plate from falling. This should ensure that even the lightest mouse gets trapped.

You may need to experiment and mod the unit a bit to make it more effective but anybody with a modicum of DIY skill can turn this good trap into an excellent one capable of catching even the smallest mouse.

Brilliant! Much better value than my lazy cat!
A mouse decided to shelter from the winter in our garage so we ordered this trap to stop him shredding the picnic blanket and crapping over the camping gear.
We didn’t hold out much hope of catching it but put a tiny piece of chocolate at the entrance to the trap and placed some nuts further back. Trap was easy to set and the children were excited. The trap is clear, humane, easy to set and easy to release. It also is robust enough for eager little hands to hold onto and inspect the residents caught within.
1st night – nothing! Not so much as a nibble on the chocolate.
2nd night – success! The critter was caught and comfortably contained in the trap – much to the children’s delight (and subsequent dismay when we told them that it was NOT going to be a new pet and no it could NOT live in the Sylvanian Families Doll’s House).
Out of curiosity we baited and put the trap out again (just in case)
Lo and behold another mouse – swiftly followed by a third mouse this morning!!
As I type this we are wondering if a fourth mouse will await us tomorrow (just how many of them decided to join us for the winter??).
Can highly recommend and my only hope is that the mice find each other again in the woods far, far away from our house.

    Better than my lazy cat!

Very easy to set up although the instructions in the box didn’t say how to open it. We managed to find a little lever that opened the trap door.
It seems well made and sturdy but the proof is in the use.
Put some dark chocolate in the end & placed it in the garage around 11pm.

At 8am it was inspected and we had a little captive in there.

It was very easy to release the trap door again away from our home and he ran off into the field completely unfazed

Marked one star down on the cleaning score as the end the mouse was in doesn’t come off which would have made cleaning out the poop a lot easier. But this trap worked first time and held our visitor without harming it. It was easy to release and the trap is back in the garage to see if any more visitors are still around.

13 field mice caught in three weeks so very happy. Had to put a 2 pence piece on the trap flap as, for the first couple of days, the mice managed to get in and take the bait without setting the trap off. We use pumpkin seeds as bait, just make sure nothing gets under the trap flap as it will prevent the mechanism from closing the door. Also, make sure you release the mice a long way from your property.

I’ve only had this mouse trap a few days and have already caught five of the mice that are living in my food cupboard! It is simple to set up, and it’s easy to undo it and release the mouse. As the trap is large the mouse, once caught, has plenty of room so doesn’t get stressed being trapped, or hurt in any way. Putting a coin on the lever inside, as per the instructions, solved the issue of a very small mouse going in and taking the food without the trap being triggered.
It is sturdily made, is easy to set up and to clean, and works well. I’m very pleased with it – just hope there aren’t too many more mice living in my house!

This is a nice sturdy trap, very easy to set up. The end detaches so you can put a nice blob of peanut butter right at the very end of the trap, far enough that the mouse can get right on top of the little trigger platform that makes the trap close. The mouse can get far enough inside that there is no danger of the door hurting it or trapping its tail.
There is plenty of room inside the breathable tube for the mouse to move around, though my little fella was so petrified he just stayed curled up in a ball in the corner.
I released the mouse in a local country park a short drive away. Hope he thrives.
After use, I took the end off and sat to soak in some hot soapy water for a while. You might need a bottle brush to clean inside the tube properly.
It’s all ready to go again tonight. Hope to nab another of my unwanted house guests!
    Would recommend this product.

Had my doubts when it didn’t work first few days. Nuts didn’t do anything, placing where I believed it was didn’t work either. So I tried peanut butter and placed 4 traps flush against each wall of the room. And Presto! It caught a little one, unfortunately for me I’m 90% sure this is not the one I saw meaning I have more , I’m confident the traps will continue to work just gotta keep moving them each day. Their a super pain to remove the peanut butter it’s worth it. Mouse released into the woods

  64. JanA88ovvg says:

Did the job first time! As instructed I weight down the ‘trigger board’ with a one penny piece in order that the total weight of mouse and penny would trigger the trap door to close. I knew the mouse was partial to bird seed (it had been feasting on our cockatiel’s food, but any bird/wild bird seed would, I’m sure, be okay) so I filled the end section with seed.
My only preliminary niggle was that there were no instructions as to how to open the mouse trap in the first place! I finally noted a small ratchet lever to one side of the trap door which enables you to open the door and then hold it in place with the trigger lever (the long lever on the side of the trap.)

    A definite mouse catcher!

Easy to use, however, needed to add a bit of weight to the trap mechanism. The mouse was too light, after the first attempt just took off with the bait.
After weighing the trap caught mice effectively. Would also suggest “covering” the trap as some mice seemed smart enough to realise it was a trap. After we tried covering, was effective catching mice agai

So I bought this after discovering the electric ones just didn’t work and I hated the ones that catch and kill the mice. This has worked brilliantly!! I’ve caught 8 mice so far and just bought another trap so I can get more at the same time (one in the attic and one in the pantry) I’m extremely pleased with this purchase – I don’t normally review anything but felt necessary for this. Didn’t need the coin that the instructions suggested, I just set it open throw the cheese to the end past the little step that the mice set off and the jobs done, we wake up to a mouse every morning now, god knows how long it will take to be rid of them though, I take them on the school run with the kids and drop them in the woodland on the way, hahaha!

At first there was evidence that the piece of cracker with peanut butter on had been nibbled as there were lots of crumbs inside, but the door was weirdly shut with no mouse inside!? Lightning quick mouse perhaps?? Easily flipped the lid open and left it again, and the next time I checked the mouse was inside the trap, yayy!! Took a short drive and easily released. Trap is perfect for getting rid of unwanted rodents in a humane way, would readily recommend this item. Also, from reviews of the shorter version of this product and issues of the tails getting cut off in the traps, I chose this longer version and am happy I did as there seems to be no chance of that happening as the mouse has to be so far inside before it triggers the door release.

Does the job, caught the mouse!

Golden Review Award: 34 From Our UsersExcept as humane mouse trap, unfortunately traps just one at a time. Have ordered another one, however may have to take more drastic measures as we all find out, there is no such thing as a single mouse. Two mornings running now, I’ve had to release these pretty but nuisance field nice into the park at the end of my garden. Apparently it’s best to release mice approx 2 miles away from house. Not in my situation as ‘elderly and car less, so probably released critters making their way back. B******

Well I have to say, a wonderfull mouse trap, I hate killing any thing. And this is truly humane, in the sence they have room to move around in once caught, they can still get at there food ( peanut butter ), they can see what’s happening around them, we check each morning with a video set up to see if we have caught any. and they seam very relaxed. The long tube, the are caught in takes too long for them to get back to the exit and is locked by the mechanism, so well that one time we looked in horror as a cat had noticed a mouse trapped and had spent 20 minutes trying to get at it, and failed. The trap had been pulled all around the area it was in. Turned upside down ,and it never came unlocked or broke, so well designed.up to now we have caught over 30 mice, we live close to waist ground and a field, and all let free, a few miles away into a field, one last thing, cleaning is a breaze, the back comes off ( where the food is put ). And the trap mechanism once the back is unclipped just slides back and releases for cleaning. One thing that is suggested is to place a 2 pence coin on the moving slopping floor which activates the trap. This to make it very sensitive, and a Couple drops of super glue to keep the coin in place.
A well designed and well thought out trap. We have bought a few more to up the catch rate. Very recommended.

Really pleased with this trap. Had bought other (cheaper) humane mouse traps, which turned out to be utterly useless as the trap doors didn’t stay open Read the reviews for this one & thought we’d give it a try. Wellthis trap has exceeded all expectations !
So easy to use. The back plate pulls off so it’s really easy of drop a dollop of peanut butter into the little base. We found there was absolutely no need to use a coin, to help weigh the sprung platform down, as suggested for small mice, as within 2 hrs of placing this trap in our loft, a tiny mouse had been safely trapped & was sitting quietly inside it, cleaning its whiskers
You can see, at a glance, if anything has been trapped, so no nasty surprises. Plus fairly easy to clean this out using hot soapy water & an old toothbrush.
Over 2 days we have now caught a total of 4 little mice, all of which have been safely released, far away from our house !!

Noticed a few droppings.knew I had to do something but hate killing anything.

I had one of these previously but couldn’t find it so ordered this last night late. It arrived this afternoon. Installed at tea time with a mini banquet.

    Went out for an hour.

    Came back and GOTCHA.

This little thing caught with peanut butter, oats, nuts, chocolate. Seems quite happy listening to Classic FM!

It has been fascinating to watch the little thing. Even the dog is fascinated. Now to decide what to do with it and where to release it! I think it’s a field mouse. Off to release it shortly with its stash of food. Feel bad evicting it, but thanks to this fab gadget no animals were harmed on this adventure.

Totally recommend. Easy to set up. Does the job brilliantly. Recommend the 10p coin to weigh the platform down as many have stated. I used tiny bit of cellotape to stick it to the platform. Really happy I have the culprit!

    Gotcha!

This works really well when set up properly. At first it wouldn’t detect the mice and spring the door. Finally I placed a 2 coin on the sprung base with blue tack and fixed the food treat next to it with blue tack too. Caught six mice in one night. Either that or it is the same one coming back in again!

Golden Review Award: 37 From Our UsersWe had one of these type before and caught 3 field mice as we live backing on to fields. This works for heavier mice or maybe a smalll rat but small field mice or similar aren’t heavy enough to trigger the trap. You’ll see on the photo you can place a 50p and a 1 coin in the side bit which is perfect weight to set the trap and the tiniest touch triggers the humane mechanism. We catch using chocolate or cereal with chocolate as they like that and have a snack to eat with lots of room for the mouse but it can’t escape. You can let them out (at least a mile from your home unless you want them back!!). Hope that helps, if it does hit the thumbs up so I can see

Works with a small modification 😁

I first bought this trap three months ago. The first time we tried, we had the trap set up for a few weeks. First we tried using nuts as bait, but nothing happened. After a while of no show we tried again with dried meat, but alas, same result. We didn’t have another sighting until last Saturday, and because when we cleaned the place in the past we didn’t see anything but droppings, we thought the mouse most surely had left the premises already. As I said, last Saturday we had another sighting. Today a flatmate used this trap, this time he used cheese as bait, and it did the trick wonderfully!! Now I can only say that the trap does work, it does the job, and it does keep what promises. Safe capture, no harm done, easy to release in the wilderness. Choose your bait carefully and you will be champion!

Golden Review Award: 89 From Our UsersThis little guy took me a few days to catch as before purchasing this I had attempted unsuccessfully and he was now very cautious and a little smarter. After finding the best spot I used unsalted peanuts (just rinsed the salt off salted ones lol) and crushed them, a few coco pops and a small amount of chocolate spread. The first night he took the coco pop from the entrance and didn’t enter. I tried moving the trap along his trail line, still unsuccessfully. When I finally found the perfect spot (after around night 3) I left a trail of three pieces of a crushed peanut, a dab chocolate spread inside the entrance and chocolate spread at the rear of the trip step. This trail lead to the remaining feast. I also placed a 1 coin on the middle of the trip step to make for an easy activation. Not sure at what point the little guy realised he was trapped since most of the feast and all the chocolate spread was gone. In the morning I noticed the trap was closed but couldn’t see him since he was hiding at the side. The feeling having caught him humanely was great! I took him approx 3 miles away to a field and he grabbed the remaining food and (actually quite slowly) left the trap, I also shook out the rest of the food and left him to hopefully enjoy a new life away from my house.
The trap itself had a lot of mouse poop and smelled terrible and was hard to really get in a clean other than that this was the best thing I bought and would 100% recommend this to anyone.

Definitely works however for smaller mice not so much. I had to weigh it down with a 10pence coin as the mouse was able to get in and remove the food without triggering it. The second mouse is even smaller and so far I haven’t managed to catch it, even with adding more coins. If I add anymore it sets it off. So not quite sure how to get the other one. Maybe wait until it gets a bit bigger. But I did want to release the two together. However the trap itself is really good. Just the second mouse is tiny!

    Good produc

Caught six mice in four nights! Make the opening face a wall, and find the best bait for the mice–what they like eating. In my case it was flour. Easy to release them but check they have left the device–caught four in one go. Cover it with a carrier bag as it waits for the mice. Use rubber gloves when handling and clean with disinfectant spray. If you catch one then try to catch another, it’s not necessary to clean,do this once all mice are gone. Leave the mouse scent on it when laying the trap.

Golden Review Award: 58 From Our UsersI had a mouse that had avoided one trap, a nice humane trap with a raising rear door that the mouse obviously felt as he went in. He was caught and broke out of another, a rocking plastic type with a door that snaps shut – he just hit that with such force it popped open again.
I tried this trap. A little stiff to open the bait door, but that’s not an issue – it gets easier. Within three hours, yes three hours, he had gone into this trap. The door shut and he couldn’t escape. I have it on trail camera and it’s great to watch.
Relocation was dead easy – drove out to a field and the opened the door and let him slip out. Washed off under hot water. I used a little anti bacterial soap to be safe and rinsed it well. Trap was baited and set again….just in case.
I did follow the advice and taped a small piece of brass to the trip panel to make it more sensitive and like I say, it worked. It worked really well.

    It works!

Golden Review Award: 70 From Our UsersI don’t know what “sheerness” means!! So, gave 5 stars for that?!?!

Took us 2 nights to catch the mouse; pesky little thing ran in and nicked the peanuts the first night and escaped – per other reviews the trigger ramp worked better with a few coins carefully balanced on it; and this was the tiniest mouse we have ever seen!

A trail of peanuts to and through the trap and a blob of peanut butter at the end of the trap for the enticing scent worked a treat (personally I would have run in the opposite direction but the mouse loved it) once the ramp was calibrated.

‘Mousey’ (we aren’t original in naming uninvited guests) seemed very relaxed when we heard the trap snap, he was still eating!! He was released immediately a little way from our house, unharmed, and probably very well fed!

    Would recommend 10/10

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAt first I thought I was just supplying a free buffet for these little fella’s, but to be fair I didn’t read the advice properly about adding a couple of coins to the lever part, so they were just nicking the food having a dump or two and going on their merry way. Im sure the coin method will work fine but I decided to add a more permanent solution by drilling a small hole just above the trap lever and putting in a small screw which enabled me to increase or decrease the sensitivity of the trap door easily, its pretty much a “hair trigger” now and SUCCESS !! I’ve now caught seven of the little fella’s in about 5 days and that seems to have cleared my shed of them thus far and all have been relocated several miles away. Great product once you figure out that most of these little chaps are just to light to trigger it, but once done, brilliant, glad we purchased it and sorted out our little uninvited guests safely and unharmed

Golden Review Award: 80 From Our UsersI used a small lump pf cheese smothered in peanut butter and a couple bits of dry dog food as i think that is what the mouse was after in the first place. I threw the cheese to the back of the trap and a 10p piece to lie on the lever plate and threw in the random bits of dog food. I maneuvered it all into place with a long kebab stick. it was then positioned near the dogs dish and where i saw the mouse appear (it had come out from under the kickboard ) and left in place. I didn’t touch it for over a week. The dogs dish was covered every night so mousey wasn’t getting any food from there and it looked as though it was not gonna take the bait as it was visiting and leaving a few droppings but not going into the trap however on about night 8 it must have got so used to it being in place it went for it and i managed to catch it. It felt good to be able to release it back to the wild and not kill it and hopefully its okay now. I had been about to give up on the trap as i thought it wasn’t going to work but i think it needed to become part of the furniture so the mouse relaxed with it. Ive reset it with the same bait and will leave another week or so to make sure it was only the one that was visiting so fingers crossed

Golden Review Award: 87 From Our UsersReally pleased to have found this. I was after a humane mouse trap big enough that it wouldn’t catch the tails of mice as they entered it. It worked a treat, I caught two mice within 3 days of setting the trap up, the first within just a couple of hours.

As directed, I used a ‘weight’ to make sure the lever would work and close the door upon entry, in case the mouse was too light itself to set this off. You can use a coin, or in my case, I used a bottle cap. Ideally you want to check on the trap as often as possible to minimise stress to the mouse. It was easy to release them and I would advise to do this in a safe place several miles from where they were caught, and if possible, all mice at the same time.

The trap has a metal reenforced slitted end to it to prevent the mouse from chewing its way out. The only negative for me was that it wasn’t very easy to clean.

I have seasonal visits of wood mice into my shed. I would leave them alone except they eat into my fishing tackle and chew some of the electrical cables so they cannot stay. I started with kill traps but I was getting up to 5 a week in the winter so I stopped and tried some “humane” traps. Although some worked the traps were quite small and usually consisted of some sort of short black tube the closed on the mouse once they were in. I found that often this caused the mouse to stress so much that by the time I came to open and release them (usually the next morning having been caught overnight) often they had died of shock. Since buying this trap I have had 100% success in catching and releasing healthy mice. I usually release them about 1/2 mile away in a hedge. Hopefully I’m not getting the same ones back!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHaving spent a comfortable night in his cell the 9th mouse arrested in the current purge sat blinking in the bright sunlight that had suddenly flooded in via the garage door. After a stiff word from the duty sergeant about his future behaviour he was driven off and released unharmed into a hedgerow some distance away.
Now if you are reading this I reckon it’s because you want to buy a humane mouse trap (!) – and isn’t that exactly the sort of outcome you are looking for?
These traps are bigger than many of the others so the offenders that get banged up in the wee small hours have room to move around in and plenty of air to breathe. The smaller, cheaper, options might look tempting but unless you really fancy a job as a part time rodent mortuary attendant they are best avoided. (Believe me I know ‘cos I made that very mistake).

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWe have a super-mouser cat and oddly also a garden full of mice. Said cat brings us regular presents, both dead and alive. The latter are more of a problem and we have lost many an hour trying to flush a mouse from under the sofa, and into waiting tubes which they do their best to avoid. The small tip and tilt traps were ok but I felt sorry for the poor mouse if it was trapped in there overnight. Researching bigger alternatives was alarming, there are so many that inadvertently chop off tails..I ordered these on the basis of the reviews and baited the first in the garage, adding some torn up tissue for bedding. The next morning inside was a contented mouse with a full belly and little nest. We have successfully used these traps now several times, the latest I was working and heard a squeak nearby and there was this little chap. We are leaving a trap down permanently now as the cat often brings a live mouse in and leaves it without our knowing. My only negative is that the traps are difficult to clean, and I am not sure how long the small springs on the door will last, they have fallen off already once during cleaning.

    Effective and kind

I think it helps if you release them either 6 or 7 miles away, or if you find a spot to release them where you know they will be happy – cos then they won’t come back! I released them with a little food and bedding so they could get established where they were rather than rushing for home and it seems to have worked.

I found it a little annoying that they tell you you need a coin to weigh down the spring board a bit to catch baby ones. They should have built them with that weight included (it’s not easy to get a coin into that bit as it’s quite a way down the tunnel).

Other than that – really helpful.

I also recommend having a hamster carrier handy to pop them into when you catch one as an energetic mouse can make quite a bit of noise trying to escape once you’ve caught it – so if you sleep near where the traps are set they may well keel you awake unless they can be decanted into something else. That’s also useful if you don’t have time to release them right away, and want to feel secure that it is meanwhile able to access water etc.

Golden Review Award: 74 From Our UsersThe problem with mice is they are quite (a) lightweight creatures and (b) in the case of field mice, extremely fast.

This trap solves problem B by placing the bait a long distance from the door. Generally, many human traps can’t get around this because the mouse detects the trigger fall and escapes. I’ve seen this happen with this trap on a couple of occasions because of problem A.

Problem A is a bigger issue which (and this is mentioned in the instructions) it’s a case of balancing the trigger so the trap fires while the animal is approaching the bait, rather than just standing and feeding.

Ultimately, once you find the correct weight for the trigger mechanism, this trap is really easy to use. Unlike many of the simpler traps (particularly ones that kill or often maim these animals) you’re not going to catch your pinkies in the machine when it fires.

It’s not the perfect trap (that would probably have to be electronic) but for mechanical versions this one is as good as any I’ve tried (and I’ve tried a LOT over the years) because I live near a forest.

Just don’t forget to drive your catches at least 1/2 mile away before you release them or they might find their way back in!

Golden Review Award: 38 From Our UsersThis trap is EXCELLENT! It was ordered, delivered and triggered within 24 hours.
It’s 100% humane, it’s easy to use, ergonomically designed, safe, humane and all around genius!

You store the food in the very back of the trap, and the mouse has to step over a platform which then triggers the trap to close. It is IMPORTANT to remember, if you could have a baby mouse or a field mouse causing trouble, you need to place a coin such as 1 or something of the same weight on the platform – this will help the trap go off if a very light mouse stands on it.

We did this as we had a very sweet but intelligent field mouse living in our loft which had escaped everything we had but this. We didn’t want to hurt him and this was the perfect no kill trap.

We didn’t release him far enough away (totally our fault) and the same mouse came back (we think, he has a rip in his ear just like the one photographed) – and so we had to catch him again and boom! Trapped for a second time, straight away.

5 stars. Best purchase you could make.

Hands down, the BEST humane trap there is!!

Golden Review Award: 37 From Our UsersBefore I review the mouse trap I think a bit of history would help. We found traces of mice in our loft and set normal lethal traps and caught two large mice. When we spotted a tiny mouse in our lounge we tried to use the same trap reluctantly as there was no way were going to catch him ,he was blazing fast.
My wife was reading her book one evening and just happened to see Moudini (we named it that as will be seen later)
on the trap munching away at the Red Leicster cheese bait.He came back five times and the lethal trap did not trip.
How were we going to catch it – I saw these traps and thought we will give it a go.These traps will catch normal sized mice easily ,it’s the wee ones that are the trouble. My first three attempts at adding weight to the trigger platform let Moudini nick the bait . My failed attempts used a pound coin -no good.Second attempt was with a two pound coin – no good .Third attempt was two ten pence pieces- still no good. Finally i used three twenty piece coins -two on platform edge nearest the bait and the third coin behind in the centre. These coins were fixed in place using bluetack .I had to adjust the positions of the coins (this is so fidly but necessary) ever so slightly to allow the trap to set by the finest margin , so sensitive to allow Moudini (this mouses body was the size of my thumb top joint) to trip the trap. Bingo ,got him -job done.Moudini released into the wild a long way from our house without any harm.
These traps work ,it just takes a bit of time for the mice to work out how to get the bait as they smell it through the end slots ,I suppose it depends from which end they approach the trap.
Sorry for the length of this review but I hope it helps anyone else trying to catch tiny mice. All in all i cant fault these traps .The nice thing is the traps are long so there is absolutely no chance of any mouse’s tail being caught or the mouse being hurt.

Golden Review Award: 159 From Our UsersI discovered 3 packets of crisps had been torn into and eaten in the week and thought we either had a mouse or rat living under the oven/cupboard. I laid out some cheerios that night to find they were gone the next day and I happened to catch the little mouse munching in the early hours (was excited to see him/her!). I bought this because my partner was intent on killing him and I just could not let that happen. I come from a family of catch and rescue animals be that mice or even spiders.
The trap is very simple to use. A sensitive leaver inside will close the door and will not hurt the mouse at all. Wont trap their tail either. I put 2 10p coins on the step to weigh it down a little then added some more cheerios on the step, one in the middle and one outside the trap to lure them in. It worked a treat! Within 24 hrs of the trap arriving I had caught little old mousey! I was thrilled to see them running around so I could release them outside and saved them from a nasty death. Would 100% recommend this product. It’s certainly allowed me to sleep better at night.
You can open the trap by raising the little black leaver on the outside (right hand side) of the trap.

I’d had a mouse in the attic for ten months and I’d tried all kinds of home-made traps – many coming from expert YouTubers skilled in the capture of such creatures. He would take the bait from around them (mainly nuts, which he loved) but he was too canny to be caught and always seemed to be one step ahead of me. I didn’t really want to kill him but I was almost at the end of my tether and was about to lay old-fashioned, mice-killing, sprung traps when I saw this advertised on Amazon. I ordered two, baited them with walnuts (his favourite) and put them in the attic. I always wore surgical gloves when handling traps or bait for this little guy just in case my scent put him off his dinner. It didn’t, however, because he was always willing to eat! On the second night he took bait, as previously, from around the trap but was wary of venturing inside. This occurred for two more nights. On the fifth night, around midnight, I was falling asleep and heard the noise of the trap door closing shut. I sprang out of bed to investigate and, sure enough, the game was up! He was dark brown in colour, very small body (length approx. 5cm) with a very long tail and he was walking back and forth, wondering what was going on. Ten minutes later, after a quick journey in the car, I released him in a wooded park well away from the house. He ran off into the undergrowth and I’ve not seen him since. I’m certainly not going to miss him. I cleaned the trap, put more bait down and relaid it. I think he was a lone agent but, if he has accomplices, I’m quite sure they’ll be coming for a ride to the park with me soon enough.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersTo our horror, we discovered we had a mouse, or mice, in the loft. I refu8sed to have poison in the house or to contemplate killing them. So these humane traps seemed to be the answer.
I bought two and, having read the reviews, set them up, each with a 50p piece stuck on the trigger plate with blu-tac to get the weight right,
In the food compartment, I put a small lump of cheese (for the smell – mice don’t eat cheese!) and RSPB buggy nibbles, which I knew mice like.
The next morning, there was a little mouse sitting in the trap looking very bemused. We drove to a wood about three miles away (they have a homing instinct of up to two miles, apparently) and released it under some brambles. The next day, another one – and the next! Now, no more.
What a great invention. I can’t sing its praises enough.

It took us a few attempts to catch mousey. I noticed him in the kitchen one morning walking past me and realised we had a mouse in the house. I bought this trap in the hope of catching him rather than using a trap that would kill him. We set it a few nights on the trot and every night he managed to eat the food out of the trap and not set it off. I tried putting the food in different areas of the trap but still no luck. Last night I set it with Brazil nuts right at the end of the trap. I put two 50pence coins on the weighted step which is the mechanism that closes the door. My son came down first thing this morning and found the mouse!! He’s a wood mouse. I think my youngest son would like to keep him as a pet but don’t think that’s the best idea. We will drive him about 3 miles away, once the sun comes up and release him into the woods where we hope he’ll be a happy mouse, meet a nice mouse husband or wife, and hopefully have some lovely mouse babies in the not too distant future.

Golden Review Award: 70 From Our UsersThe trap is as advertised and does work well, first night first mouse (see image).
However that was not “straight out of the box”.
You will see that 50% or so of purchasers are fairly unhappy with the triggering sensitivity.
Before use, I simply slid the black (coloured) plastic base away from the tiny pull up clip directly underneath the unit, being careful not to break any of the tiny tabs and slide guides. once you have that plate off you will see the spring wire which is what I bent to make it considerably less taught (make it lay flatter on the base rather than sticking up in the air so much), slide the base back into position making sure the tabs are all secured.
This process proved to give the unit a “hair” trigger action (I tested it by rolling a small grape into the opening).
As you can see from the photo of M1 – it is tiny!
    I hope this helps.

    Works well, after tweaking

Golden Review Award: 78 From Our UsersI purchased this as I tried the normal mouse traps with no success. Also I felt bad using mouse traps so decided to look for an alternative way to capture it in a humane way (yes I should of went for this in the first place).

Anyway, I decided to go for this as it seemed like a simple design, the box contained a leaflet that taught you how to use it (it is essentially a door trap triggered by a pressure plate inside). I knew the mouse I was trying to capture was small and the leaflet said that you can put a coin or 2 onto the floor trigger to help make it easier to trap so I used a 2p coin. I used nut related products as the bait and left it for the night…..

I woke up this morning and the mouse is trapped in there already!! It’s been terrorising us for over a week and all it took for this trap was one night! Wish I bought it earlier! Please see the picture of the little mouse it caught 🙂

Golden Review Award: 145 From Our UsersI have field mice in my garden, they are adorable little things and very entertaining to watch when they come out at dusk. Unfortunately my back door step is low and very occassionally one may finds its way into the consevatory. This mouse trap has been the ideal solution, very easy to use and plenty of room in it so the mice do not get stressed once trapped. The picture shows one I caught this morning. Not a great picture, he had gone to sleep! I released him back into the garden after and he scampered off quite happily

    Works really well

Golden Review Award: 237 From Our UsersI should of bought 2, caught one the same day I received the trap, I’ve caught 5 up till now I didn’t have the heart to throw them out in the cold coz they are so small and it’s so cold, so I bought them a house, I have one escape as I was transferring it to the house and is in hiding in the kitchen, there’s another in the living room so trap set, I use peanuts that I put out for the squirrels that appeared on 1st lockdown, the one’s I caught love tomato, I have the most mouse friendly dog I think they all ran past him. It doesn’t help when council is cutting down trees and bushes so they have nowhere. Ill release when it warms up I’ll know they will survive

    Excellent produc

Golden Review Award: 141 From Our UsersThis trap is indeed humane. To trigger the gate the rodent has to proceed so far down the tube that an injury should be pretty much impossible, unless you are a big rat. The trigger works well. Metal re-enforced breathing slits stop the rodent from gnawing itself out. The transparent tube lets you look inside, but at the same time the animal seems to be undisturbed – unless we happened to catch the most laid-back wood mouse in England. We had no problem dismantling the trap and then it was easy to clean. We are very happy with the purchase.

Golden Review Award: 129 From Our UsersHouse backing onto a field and owning 2 cats we see many mice and shrews brought into the house. Occasionally they are alive and well so its always good to catch them and re-release. Previously we relied on leaving the back door open or catching them in a sandwich box, which can be quite fun (not for the mouse perhaps). Having a particularly elusive little fella on this occasion, we thought about giving a trap a go. This trap performed very well and safely caught our little friend over night. Very pleased with result, worked well, easy to setup and clean.

Good humane trap - caught our little friend on day 1

Golden Review Award: 148 From Our UsersI have been failing to catch some mice for weeks now. Eventually, I threw the old humane “trap” in the bin since the mice had been stealing the bait without triggering the trap or triggering it without getting caught and then gnawing the door in an attempt to get the bait that was stuck inside! No problem with this trap though, as I caught four mice in three days. Easy to bait and easy to set… and it works. Brilliant!

I found it a bit tricky to clean as it is is so long my wee, fat fingers won’t stretch in far enough… but a cheap bottle brush from Poundland came to the rescue!
