Easy to fit with only the basic tool supplied
Rear camera has excessive amount of cable for a standard car, this took a bit of hiding to keep the job nea
East to install and set up. Only thing is they have moved from suction cup mounting to sticky pads, so get in right place first time, as you can’t move it. There is however a spare pad included
I received it today and I really didn’t think it was that great, the build quality and the camera are great, and it was easy to install, and I recommend it, it’s worth buying.
I bought this for hubby after we had been reversed into in a private car park. It is a brilliant piece of kit! With both front & rear cameras, we are now covered. Even if you’re not in the car, any motion is detected & the cameras automatically record in your absence. Ideal as you can identify the vehicle responsible…..wish we’d had one in the first instance!
This is my first Dash cam, so I looked at various different devices. This one had great reviews and you get plenty of functionality for you money.
1st, it is very easy to configure, make sure you download the app and that will then pair the device to your phone. There are plenty of settings that are easy to use. The installation was simple I used the charging cable, It is a good length and I had no problems running the cable alone the side piller and above the sun blind. One thing to remember is to plug the charging cable into the window mount before fixing to the windscreen, as it can be a little tricky post fixing. What is a massive plus and I have not seen this before is the magnetic fixing bracket, this makes fixing and removing so easy with no fear of pulling the fixing mount off the windscreen massive plus.
Play back could not be simpler, just open the app, with the camera power on, it will then create its own WiFi connection to the phone and you just download the clips that then save to your phone or you can use the USB cable and link the device to a PC.
So in all, easy to setup, great video quality and a good price. Very pleased.
Everything you need is in the box. You must download the App to get the most from the cam. This kit uses the 3M mounting, & not the suction cup mounting.
Having installed my Nextbase 422GW I can say it is an excellent product. Easy to install – even hiding the cables is well-described in the instructions and videos from, NextBase. Installation was very easy – all I need to do now is to ensure that the long cable leading to the mains-socket in my Skoda is also hidden – as the plug is so big it will not allow the lid to be slide over the compartment – perhaps I’ll make an extension for it. The picture-quality daytime is perfect, night-time certainly useable if not quite as clear. I have not invoked my Alexa as yet – give it time!
This is a Xmas present for my daughter, and I chose this because I have one, which is easy to use, takes a good video and easy to get video onto my computer if I need to
Bought this to replace a 2 year old model that some how has become a brick, strange how its beoken just after the extended warranty expired. Anyhow cheapest on the net, evn cheaper than next baes’s own referbed model (did buy black friday sale though)
Camera is great, good clear footage, mounting and installation easy enough. Works with good quality micro so cards, however, if you fit the rear view camera to the unit the cards struggle to cope. The dedicated Nextbase cards are supposed to handle it all, but can’t verify as yet as I’m still struggling with the price of them, as they are six times more expensive than a good quality SanDisk card.
These products are so easy to set up & use I have others in the past which weren’t fit for ease of use ,this is my 2nd purchase for my wife as a was so pleased with my 322 ,the 422 is excellent & purchased the rear camera which just slots in the side ,really good products & reasonably priced against others in this marke
Happy with the item apart from the parking mode. The in built battery goes flat quite quickly so I have had to turn this feature off. I used a professional auto electrician to hard wire it in.
I enthusiastically bought a Nextbase 422 Dashcam, polarIsing filter with hardware kit from Amazon. Nextbase 422 was easy to set up. Looked for installers and found most large high street retailers reluctant to install unless they supplied the Dashcam. Plenty of helpful local company’s out there that can professionally hardwire install the front Dashcam for 60 approx. You can also use the power point in your car. Like the parking feature that takes a record if the car is hit in a car park. Also, you can link a rear facing camera. Cost wise by buying from Amazon and having it installed by an independent service provider saved about 60 when comparing to a well known high street retaile

The camera itself is nice – compact, easy to fit and use, seems good quality. However, I chose this model so that I can use the rear-view telephoto lens add-on camera to save the hassle of fitting a separate rear camera. I wonder if the combination is pushing the capabilities of the camera system to the limits and maybe this is why some people are reporting problems. Some findings after a couple of weeks use are:
– Like most people I tried with a non-Nextbase memory card, a San Disk type 10 which should be in spec for the camera. However, I had issues with accessing files through the phone app, downloading files, and the GPS not working. In the end I gave in and bought a 64G Nextbase card.
– My route to work includes a bumpy pot-holed road and I found almost all recordings were marked as protected for that section, which made the camera stop recording when the card was full. Changing the sensitivity option setting solved this.
– I found that the GPS data stopped being recorded when the card was full. Formatting the card solved the problem until it filled up again. I wonder if the additional effort for the software of deleting files to over-write them, combined with the need to record from both cameras, pushes the system to the limit and it manages this by stopping recording the metadata?
– I tried turning off recording of the mirrored low resolution files but then its almost impossible to view the files on the Nextbase phone app as there are no thumbnails.
– I tried changing the front main camera resolution from the default 1440p to 1080p. This seems to solve the problem, GPS data is recorded reliably, and the files are quicker and smaller to download to the phone app. Viewing in the phone app shows a very similar quality image in 1080p to 1440p.
– Copy the files to a computer and view using the computer systems native MP4 player, and the quality at 1080p is still good enough to easily read the number plates of passing cars, and you can zoom the image as well. Much better than viewing in the Nextbase app, though you don’t see the GPS data in this case.
– So, maybe not the ultimate camera on the market but if you want rear view without a separate camera it seems to be the only choice, and so far I’ve found it works very well. The image quality, even at 1080p, when viewed outside the Nextbase app, is easily as good as any you see in dashcam videos on YouTube and elsewhere.

The camera is great – and once I had the Nextbase SD card installed it worked a treat.
With the other card the camera was affected really badly. I phoned the support number given in the box and guys at Nextabse were fantastic. They tried everything they could think of, finally suggesting – ‘let’s just try it without the SD card. Obviously it could record, but suddenly everything else worked as expected. I tried for a refund on the SD card that didn’t work, but was told it was NOT possible.
Fantastic camera, fantastic support and help from Nextbase, but I’m still miffed that I have a useless SD card that I can’t get a refund on.

Great camera;s and well worth the money. one of the main selling features for me was the use of that magnetic mount for ease of removal.
I also like the next-base software though not all options are available on the lower spec cameras so be careful of this.
I have had the camera for a few weeks now there are a couple of slight niggles I have with it but it would not stop me from recommending It to others.
!, Even with the recording resolution set to 1440 (max setting on the 422) it still gives a grainy image when you try and zoom in on a moving vehicle coming the other way.
2, (See photo) the resistor in the power lead is situated close to where it connects to the camera so because of the weight it keeps pulling the lead down and into the line of sight which is annoying.
All in all I do rate this camera and if you do need help the support team are easy to contact and are very helpful so if you are looking for a dashcam I would definately give this one a go.

Main reason I got this was that it’s quite small, not very noticeable compared to others. The holder is quite snug and from a drivers point of view, I can’t see it as the rear mirror hides it it from view. Picture and sound quality are good, lots of features and video can be downloaded to your phone if needed. The rear camera again is quite small, good video quality. I needed to buy a better quality SD card, it didn’t like the one I used in my old dashcam.

Easy to install and use, great with the rear camera
Not very technically minded but found this item easy to use
Like ease of set up. Easy to use. Nothing to dislike
Rear camera fixing is not suitable for a hatch back. When boot is closed the cable moves the camera as there is no flexibility.
Good picture quality, WiFi connection works ok, easy to install and remove from the ca

Basically, it does what is says on the box. Easy set-up and easy integration with a smart phone. Crystal clear pictures – both in daylight and night-time.
Had mine fitted by someone who knows what they’re doing. No trailing wires. Neat and compact.
Quality of picture is amazing. Bought on the back of a Which? review. Very pleased.
Bought installation kit at the same time. Everything required is in the kit, even a plastic trim tool. All done in about 30 or 40 minutes, taking my time.
My cheap dash cam stopped working, and the picture quality was not good. I researched for one with better functions and with GPS. I found Nextbase to offer what I wanted at a good price. I chose the 422GW ( the 322GW is cheaper and another good option) and I was not disappointed. Fitting in the car was straight forward even a tool provided to hide the cable in the roof lining.
It’s working fine, although I had to download the manual for it and have still to complete setting up all the functions.

Wanted a reliable Dash Cam and spoke to my auto electrician for advice and he recommended Nextbase for quality and reliability so as I had previously checked online various camera’s and had already thought Nextbase gear looked good I went with his recommendatio
