Sturdy, good quality camera, super simple to set up, picture quality is great in “high” mode, motion detector is very sensitive even when lowered in app, mild glitching probably down to connectivity on my end! 2 year warranty! Overall a great purchase
This is such a great camera and will order a couple more. I use it for watching that my hens get into the coop safely at night.
So far all good -charged the battery fully before attempting to connect which it did first time . The solar panel does keep the battery charged even tho not in the ideal location. Camera appears well made and solid and there is a complete installation kit.
Easy setup and reliable with intuitive app. Weren’t sure how they would work but after installing the first one we were impressed and quickly bought a second.
Very pleased. The solar panel easily keeps it fully charged. The only slight improvement would be if the motion sensor could be zonal (part of the view) that could be selected.
The camera is very good. Being battery powered it is slow to look at on your iPhone or pad.
The lumus being mains powered is much faster.
I got my 1st one about 3 years ago and it’s still going strong. These are decent camera’s and really easy to setup, the solar charging works well, it’s just really disappointing that the company won’t get it’s act together so that it can offer cloud storage in Europe. There is no other automatic backup option either, meaning that if someone stole the camera or the SD card failed then you’re screwed. I’m sure there’s probably a workaround using a VPN but the cloud storage isn’t implemented because it fails to meet security standards so I’m thinking it’s probably best not to, although how useful footage of my rabbits would be to the Chinese government I don’t know .
I like these camera’s, they’re incredibly easy to set up (and put up) but the issue I have is the WiFi range. All the cameras are located outside of the house two at the front and two at the back, three actually attached to the house itself and another on the garden wall opposite (about 30ft away). The two at the back both required WiFi extenders that luckily I had.
Without them I couldn’t use the camera on the garden wall (fair doos I suppose given it’s 30ft away) and the one overlooking the garage had a single bar of signal and wouldn’t connect well when the app was open. The two at the front I use the router directly as it is only about 10 ft away (albeing going through a wall) and sometimes, when I open the app, one of them fails to conect although when refreshed, all is well. I may have had unrealistic expectations regarding where I could put these and although able to use outside I think because of the limitiations of WiFI they’re better as indoor cameras (although to be fair, I have Virgin Media and have never tested any other WiFi device at such distance).
Customer service was prompt and helpful and the solar panels do charge the units adequately to keep them going without further charging from a plug although annoyingly, since I got them, all its done is rain 🙁
Very easy product to use and install.
Solar panel keeps the battery topped up, even in the dull December weather.
PIR detection is good, it has to be set up correctly for monitoring and only really works when someone is stationary. it’s not good for casually monitoring for people passing by as they have already passed by the time the recording starts – but that’s PIR for you, it can’t predict when it is going to be activated.
The night vision is OK, but am yet to see any colour night vision, although this could be because of the amount of light available where the camera is installed.
Support were very helpful with a remote network connection. After contacting them for testing their engineers made some adjustments and the camera can now be accessed remotely.
It’s still early days, but generally this device gives an added sense of security.
So far, in most respects I’d give this 5 stars – the camera itself, the solar panel and the app are all really good.
The reason for 4 stars is that my device shipped with firmware that didn’t allow time-lapse, which was my prime use-case. Firmware Update on the app stated it was up to date… so I made an email support request.
Response from support was about as quick as I hoped for (a pleasant surprise) and by next day they had pushed a firmware update to the device which solved the issue. So support is good, product is good, but it shouldn’t have needed this to get it to work fully.
I should add that the little solar panel is keeping the battery topped up – admittedly the camera is getting light use – but this is November in the UK and it’s been cloudy all the time so hardly solar-friendly.
This is our 2nd Reolink and we love them, we have solar on both and they are always 100% charged. They are easy to set up and work in all types of weather, would definitely recommend.
Looked at much more expensive options to keep an eye over my drive, but thought i would take a punt on this first. It has not disappointed. Easy to set-up and the mounting brackets and brilliant. Not had chance to put the solar panel charger up yet, but the battery lasted a month before it needed recharging, expecting much longer once the solar panel is up.
Charges within a few hours and easy to stick back up. Good motion sensing.
Ive been running 4 Reolink cameras for 12 months now. I also use the solar panels and find they work great even in less than perfect conditions. Reolink produce a fantastic range of extemely high quality products that are very simple to use. They also provide great customer support!
We use it for the back garden. Sometimes it doesn’t catch the person or animal that sets it off but I think most cameras address the same. The Reolink helpline address very helpful as well.
You will need he solar panel in the sun, it’s not so good facing north, other than that a great not of ki
I have had many cctv systems over the years, mainly wired CCTV and DVR controlled. this is my 1st “Battery powered Wi-Fi” camera. the set up was easy an the included Solar panel means you no longer have to worry about accessing the camera to charge the battery, or running a power adapter through to the house. yes even in the great British “Sunshine” it still gets power. since installed it has only dropped to 80% and that was after i was continually watching live feed, for a while, it soon recharges back to 100%. the camera allows you to custom “blind spots” i.e. areas you don’t want recorded like inside windows or other private areas. the FOV is good and doesn’t have too much fisheye effect so you can see clearly. the rubber cover to “Protect the camera is ok, however the hood lip could be a bit wider but that will only effect you if you have the camera facing horizontal and in rain. but most people have the camera facing down slightly so wont effect it. the apps are available for both iOS and android. and you have the PC client to view on both mac and Window, the solar cable is long and has the fittings for mounting virtually anywhere. (as long as you can get the Wi-Fi signal)
OK now for the cons.
Not many but its up to you to decide.
the motion trigger is slow. even on high sensitivity. you may miss the instant 2 seconds or so of footage while the pir activates recording. this can be combated by adjusting the camera slightly off centre from the main frame. so the camera has time. I had some issues with the Windows client logging in to the camera but after a chat (virtually) with Reolink Customer services i had the issue sorted. I have a shout out to the Customer Service team at Reolink. they wouldnt close the case until after i was 100% satisfied, and they kept in touch regular via email
overall if your looking for a battery CCTV stand alone unit this is a good option.
Amazing camera, easy to set up and install, remember to use a memory card so you can record. I feel now that due to lockdown burglaries are on the increase and its great being able to see if any one has been either front or back of property.
OK where to start?
SET UP… the manual isn’t very clear. Here’s the trick. When you intially scan the camera QR code with your phone, it will log it. Your phone then generates A NEW QR CODE!! YOU THEN HOLD THE CAMERA FACING YOUR PHONE AND THE CAMERA SCANS THE NEW ONE!!! Some people have left negative reviews saying they can’t pair it… Read the above… Its simple but also an easy mistake to make.
PICTURE QUALITY
Normal streams are full 1080p but you have a choice of low resolution called FLUENT.
PLAYBACK … Some people leaving one star reviews saying its not HD quality… That’s because they’ve not noticed that ALL videos that are saved, Always playback in low resolution!! … YOU HAVE AN ICON YOU CAN PRESS TO VIEW THE RECORDED FOOTAGE IN 1080P HD!!! I’ve highlighted it in GREEN in the photo above.
STORAGE it’s on SD cards… You need to insert these, then the system formats them BUT… you then need to go into actual camera storage settings and actual press FORMAT, so don’t be fooled by the first message saying format successful. You can do this procedure from your phone anywhere in the world!!!
CONNECTION ISSUES I had some until I bought a netgear extender… Problem solved. If you use an extender for a camera at the back of the property, you’ll need to reset the camera, then link it to the WIFI EXTENDER NOT THE ROUTER. When in the camera wifi, you’ll see your router saying something like Vodafone 2.5g….A WiFi extender netwirk will show as Vodafone 2.5G_EXT…or something like this… So make sure you use that as it’s the extended network.
SOLAR PANEL. Brilliant quality and easy to fit. Battery had 50% but with one day’s sunshine, 99%. Just remember to install it facing the pint that gets sun the most and put it at a 45 degree angle.
The cameras are magnetic!! This allows you to pull them off, charge them, then pop them back on.
OVERALL took 60 mins to set up… Best sub 200 I’ve spent… Far superior to my mates ARLO which cost 3 times more. A really superb system and very very user friendly. Yep you can access it from anywhere in the world.
BAD… It just continually loop records over the 64gb card. Would be better if it took a bigger card, plus you have to take the SD card out to delete footage… I’ve had mine running at 1080p for a week… Still tonnes of space for months.
Someone had tried to break into my house. I woke up to someone trying to come through my front door.
For a while after every noise outside scared me and I found it difficult to sleep. This camera has brought me so much peace of mind,. It’s quick to connect, clear pictures, you can check playback quickly, communicate with the person outside, and also set off an alarm to alert others.
It’s easy to set up both installing outside and setting up the camera to go live on your wifi.
I would recommend getting the camera with the solar panel attached so you’ll have constant battery.
I would also recommend getting a mini SD Card I got the 64gb one and that’s lasted ages.
I’ve had this product now over 6 months and I don’t regret it I highly recommend this product.
Since having the updated app camera connection often fails. Never seems to on PC.
i had two of these and am more than happy with them . however when this arrived i found it much more difficult to add to Reolink app /client compared to the first two . i then noticed that PIR adjustment was different to the previous two showing only low/medium/high whereas the previous two can be adjusted by percentage also missing was false alarm protection. no problem i thought just update the firmware , however when i tried to update it seems the firmware is the latest .
i emailed reolink and they tell me there are two versions of this camera that are sent out randomly with no way of knowing which one you will get .they also told me that false alarm protection is not available on these cameras when i have it on both my other argus 2 .
the camera seems to work as well as the other two but i would have preferred it to have been the same as the others.
just be aware you may receive an old model .
Initially bought it to install outside the garage. However, there was no secure place to mount it so I’ve installed it in my garage. Gives a good quality picture and manages to pick up the home wifi signal at the other end of a longish garden.
Ok, not as good or usable as a far more expensive Nest Outdoor IQ Camera I have (but that cost 3-4 times as much, and needs a paid subscription), but I only wanted to keep a view on the rear of my property.
The picture is good, albeit every time I go into live stream mode, I get an error saying i should switch to “Fluent mode due to poor network quality”. Well, fluent mode is 640×480, which is rubbish, so frankly NO! And this device is just 4-5 meters away from a 100mbps hub, and where mounted is getting 55mbps download and 10mbps upload. It does appear to be limited itself to a low transmission rate, showing it’s handling 1200-2000kbps max. I almost returned it, but decided that ignoring the warning still gave a decent picture, and the rest of the functionality was decent for the price.
The solar panel works well it seems, but really needed an alternate mounting system. The mount supplied is so ridiculously short it drastically limits the options for where one can out it. I ended up having to screw the mount onto a piece of wood, and then fit that under a garage eve, to be able to acquire light. It looks pretty rubbish, but works. Maybe this is due to where I placed the camera, and the fact the lead is only 4 (or is it 5) meters long, but a more flexible extending mount would have been much better.
The way that the thumb-screw fits into the back of the solar panel as well, doesn’t fill me with confidence that it won’t work loose.
Oh, and I’ve never been able to get email alerts working.
Apart from that, if budget conscious, this works, has in-device recording, and wasn’t expensive.
Liked easy set up, good quality vision in colour and black and white. Two way audio is good.
Disliked nothing at the moment, still early days so fingers crossed!
Bought it to observe our regular visiting hedgehogs. It’s great for what we need
Have 2 of these at our holiday cottage so we can monitor things remotely. Originally bought the first due to the decent price, quality reviews and solar charging. Second was purchased due to the quality of our first purchase. Really easy to set up, install and load the app. Adding the second one took about 30secs tops. Motion detection can be a bit slow if the thing moving is a person running or a car going above 10mph but other than those rather infrequent things the camera and picture quality are great. We have a 64gb card in each and have months of playback footage saved on them if ever required. Sometimes it’s good to see who has been walking past or delivering things just to be nosey. As a security camera it’s really good and we have had no issues other than WiFi sometimes dropping which isn’t Reolinks issue, so very happy with them both.
They are about 5mins to install, first one takes about 2mins to load the app and set up, and after that you can pick a load of options in terms of how long to record after motion detected, whether you want sound on/off etc, etc.
We’d buy more in a heartbeat.
First off I have been looking at covering the front of my property with a camera for 2 reasons, keep an eye on the car on the drive, and secondly to see who was ringing the bell instead of going down several flights of stairs only to find it was someone trying to sell flog something or sign you up to something!
I saw this camera just before Christmas and was given this as part of a Christmas present as I had looked at several reviews for cameras that would be suitable to do the job, only to see this coming out as tops for the budget I had.
I must admit now, I am now a convert and I have bought 2 more of these devices to look after my property.
The video quality both day and night is fantastic, and with being rechargeable via the optional solar panel, they work very well with no maintenance. The build quality is evident – a nice solid camera that will stand the test of time.
Once registered you get a really good warranty of 2 1/2 years, 2yrs as standard, but register it online and you get an additional 6 months.
Since getting the first one my boss at work has also invested in a couple after seeing the quality of the video and photos.
The app is really easy to set up and configure and your up and running in 5 minutes, there is even software to allow your pc or Mac to record all the footage if required.
Please note the recordings are only triggered when movement is detected – this is not a CCTV system that records 24hrs a day when nothing is happening, this records more importantly when something is happening – someone trespassing, or coming up on to your property.
You can set schedules for when it doesn’t record movements (maybe when you set off to work on a weekday), but then it’s all changeable very easily.
For the money, I believe there isn’t anything else around that gives you the best value for money, and again with a long warranty, Reolink must be confident of their products.
All in all I am very pleased with my purchase, the quality you can see by the photo’s I have uploaded in this review.
Got this camera for our villa in spain just to occasionally check in , see if all is well and tease ourselves at the same time about the fab weather over there… This little Reo unit is just fine for the job. Its a fixed camera , has good field of vision and the solar panel does a brilliant job of keeping the battery charged 24/7 so we dont have any batteries or long cables to worry about. One area that could be a little better is the time it takes to get a sensor notification alarm, quite frequently you will review the video only to find the culprit that triggered the event was no longer in shot (normally cats in our case). Picture quality is good with the HD , but we do find that the internet sometimes grumbles and stutters when its used. Mobile phone app is very good, simple and can be used with extra cameras simply , if you wanted to add more. Overall definately more positives and one that should be on your shortlist.
An excellent camera and accompanying solar panel for the price and convenience. No need for drilling cables through walls to get power. Easy registering to the wifi and chosen devices. I bought a second one of these a year later and its a great purchase. Unlike other cameras which are limited by the battery power they have or the fact that you need to run cables through walls to get to a junction box; the reolink is totally stand alone. Yes ofcourse, I wish it worked with Alexa and of course the app could have more options for lengthier recording for example – but I have had zero issues with this to monitor my back patio and for it to ping me if there is anyone within a certain proximity. I only called upon the service once and they were quick to respond. Excellent buy! Way better than Blink!
Great camera, easy to use and set up. Good night vision, clear sound and good picture quality. Great to get nofications of alerts when away from home. Motion sensor can be slow sometimes but adjusting the camera position can help.
Works well and seems to cope with bad weather. I will review again in a few months
Fantastic little device. Really very good value for money. So easy to set up, works perfectly and incredible resolution in both day and night vision. You can also speak to people even when you’re not home, and you can remotely activate alarm. So very, very, very pleased.
I’m absolutely thrilled with this system. It’s so easy to install. The range of motion detection is great. Quality of day & night vision is superb. I can easily log in anywhere via Wi-fi or Data to get live feeds. Talking threw it is great! Highly recommend as an affordable home security system!
Been using the camera for 3 months now and generally very pleased with it. It was very easy to install. Picture quality is good. The solar panel has kept the camera battery fully charged through all these short days and lousy weather despite seeing direct sunlight for only a couple of hours a day given where I had to site it. Would have preferred another metre or so of cable but I guess others may have found it was quite long enough.
It has always taken a still picture when triggered and emailed it to me. Of course, being a snap, it has not always captured the best moment but it is usually enough to see who it is and one can always interrogate the SD card recording. It is very easy to take the camera down by rotating it on its mount and then walking off with it so some unscrupulous person could call, see the camera and then nick the evidence!
Overall it works just fine so why not 5 stars?
The main reason is that I had to use a powerline wifi extender situated in the garage so that there would be a strong wifi signal by the outside of the front door. That has resulted in me not being able to interrogate the camera from inside the house using our mobiles over the house’s wifi network – it does not recognise the camera as being on the same wifi network! I’ve only got one network and the SSID and password are the same throughout the house. I have no such problems with any other portable devices so there’s something not quite right. I’ve had multiple email exchanges with Reolink’s support team and full credit to them for quite rapid responses and for trying to resolve the issue but without success. I have to interrogate the camera via 4G or using their app on my PC.
Finally, and it applies to all such cameras, it does get upset if it is placed where a shaft of sunlight can fall across the face of the camera: multiple triggering and useless pictures. There is a small hood on the silicon cover but that’s useless for shading low winter sun so you do need to make sure the camera is always in full shade eg directly under the porch soffit.
Great wireless security camera. I wouldvaward 5vstars but the cloud storage is not available in the UK, it also took me a long time to discover this when trying to set up the camera to use the cloud.
Once the cloud storage is available in the UK I will happily give this 5 stars.
Been meaning to write a review for this camera for a while. I started with their bullet rlc410 then the turret and finally with two of these Argus 2 cameras. Yet again another quality camera in terms of quality of picture, accessing out of home network and free notifications. Easy to install and surprisingly for Ireland with our lack of sun this has charged itself continuously through our overcast wet winter and continuously gets back to 100% charge daily with the solar panel. The panel for my first camera was too far for the attached cable but bought an extension directly from reolink and has been charging perfectly since. What’s not to love, top quality picture, excellent app, integration with Google Assistant and no expensive plans to access your own camera like so many other competitors! 5* in every aspec
Very pleased with this purchase. I needed a camera to keep a check on my chickens in the far end of my yard whilst away for a long weekend. This has worked out perfectly so far.
The build quality is excellent and it’s nice and easy to set up too.
I just hope that the cloud recording service is expanded to cover Europe soon and I May well then invest in more kit from Reolink.
Bought this to monitor our newly adopted cat and it was easy to set up so long as you follow the instructions carefully. Like the feature to schedule the time to activate the PIR sensor so we set it up for times when no one is at home. The battery surprisingly lasts for four days before needing a recharge.
Generally good but they need to be positioned low or the PIR doesn’t pick up quickly, solar panel position needs adjustment to get continued charge if PIR sensor set on high.
One of the main features here is its standalone (no mains connection) functionality which is the best on the market. I’ve put it on my shed which is a little in / out of wifi range and works brilliantly.
In terms of other functionality, it is quite basic with no detection window settings and a very basic sensitivity slider.
I got it for 97 including the solar panel (this works really well !!) which I think is just about value for money.
At the front of my house I use a multi window multi setting mains powered uCam247 and sso this combination works well.
Strongly recommend this CCTV if only for the standalone capability.
Started well the Reolink camera came with all the accessories you require, but in sunny weather the light and shade cast played havoc with false alerts.
The Solar panel was excellent and kept the camera battery fully charged
Easy to install and set up. No subscriptions . This is my second camera.
The only downside I could possibly give is that you need an app and it won’t work with iSpy software. Having said that the apps on iPhone Android and PC or Mac are pretty good. Simple to install and easy to use. Installation is 6 drill holes insert the provided rawlplugs and use the provided screws the fact that people could charge for doing this is amazing (And no doubt a great opportunity) I have bought 3 of these and I am pleased with the way they work and the featured like an audible siren sound if movement is detected ( Configurable on or Off but it is great in the garden as yet another deterrent. Night vision is really clear and at 1080p it beats most older fixed cameras that require rolls or wiring and lots of drilling etc etc etc
Good little camera. Easy to install, and the solar panel is brilliant. Could do with cloud storage in the UK and sometimes the camera displays a white flash as it starts recording, other than that, a great piece of kit.
Very impressed so far. Been 3 weeks and cannot complain. Good quality unit and easy to setup and install myself with a drill and screwdriver. I have put mine outside above the back door using the solar panel. Again, easy to install. The included rubber weather cover is a good addition. The product did not come with a memory SD card, luckily I had a spare 16gb. The setup was relatively easy too, took me less than 40 mins to get it all fitted and working. The App is also good and easy to setup and use. Take some time to get the right settings for your environment and needs, took me a couple of days of trying different settings. So now, I am sitting in Portugal and can easily use my phone to check the outside of my house in seconds, and it alerted me when a fox decided to rummage around in some boxes by the back door!!! Think I’ll purchase another soon for the front and hook it up in the tree to face the house (comes with a handy strap for this purpose). Thank you.
My Reolink Argus 2 has already proven its worth! Faced with the situation where a courier company claimed it had left a parcel with me for a neighbour, I was able to use the video footage to show they had not. Without the video evidence provided by the Argus 2, the finger of suspicion might have been pointed at me for stealing the item.
zero complaints from me. I haven’t yet attached the solar panel for “hands-free” running, so I charge it for now. I’m impressed by the battery life! I don’t need more but if the need arises, I’ll be getting the same camera again. Also, completely love the lack of cloud storage (don’t want it), and the lack of facial recognition (also don’t want it). I happen to dislike the forced bundling of tech into the pricier options. Some of us want the basics in some items.
This camera is handy if you dont want to run wires outside, the solar panel keeps the battery full charged so long it is optimally placed to catch the suns rays, what lets this camera down is the wifi range I can get a good wifi strength on my phone at a good distance in the garden but the camera suffers. Picture quality is very good and the email notifications work ok we fitted a memory card to store any captured video which you can then download to your phone or Pc if desired. Would I buy another? probably not due to the poor wifi range. and we are still waiting for them to make it usable with Google Home, website says coming soon hmmmn.
I wanted to try this as a wildlife cam , (because of the solar panel and WiFi access) though it really isn’t suited to that use. It records only after the PIR sensor is triggered so you generally miss / don’t see what triggered the alarm.
The PIR seems quite insensitive even when on the highest sensitivity. Fine for people but it rarely triggers on anything smaller.
As a general camera though it’s pretty good. The mounts are simple to use and well thought out. Battery life with the solar panel and occasional access has been weeks, and it’s still at 50% + overall battery. The software is also very good (iOS) and easy to use.
Night vision is OK, but the reach is quite limited – 10-15m by when the image is quite blurry.
Its good and excellent picture but main issue its very unstable connection to a good wifi signal. At low signal it is really bad, but with a good signal it is still.intermittent. I have a wifi boaster within 3 ft of it and it still dies not hold connection all the time.
This cam is just amazing.
I have a Davis vantage pro 2 weather station which I bought 10 years ago and wanted a day/night cam to watch the sky.
The only option was a security cam at 1,000 pounds.
Was not going to pay that, period.
10 years later, and I found this wifi cam.
bloody amazing.
See the night to sunrise and was amazed.
What was 10 years ago at around 1,000 pounds can be achieved for around 100 pounds.
Got the solar panel version for extra 30 pounds, but don’t need it.
Put cam (using industrial velcro) to attach to bedroom plastic window seal outside.
feed USB from cam to plug in bedroom.
Water tight by using silicone to seal USB in back of cam.
And it works.
Power all the time.
I bought the solar panel combined package with cam.
Also bought 2 extension cables for solar panel from at around 20 pounds from company in Hong Kong, you can’t buy these on Amazon.
So really, I have waisted 50 pounds on solar,
My bad.
Just remember this.
If mounting on a window seal, you can get away with using the power cord for constant power.
But totally waterproof it with amalgamated tape and silicone.
If you are into weather like me, you will absolutely love this can.
Hope I have helped some of you out there to decide to buy this amazing cam……..
When I first set this Reolink Argus 2 camera up, I was very disappointed that it sometimes took 20 minutes before I would receive a push notification of a movement within the PIR field. I was on the point of returning it as I felt it was nothing short of useless, but then discovered the problem lay with my Android phone settings, and not with the camera. I had to adjust the “heartbeat” setting on my phone which sets the interval between the phone “looking for” signals from the camera to the minimum value, and now I get alerts almost instantly. So relieved that I had a system which didn’t alert me 20 minutes after the burglars had left!!!
Simple to install and when buying camera with solar panel you have every type of fitting you’ll need. Make sure that the battery is charged before setting everything up. Reolink programme is simple to use, gives you the opportunity to retain evidence on SD card or download the video to your mobile, tablet or PC. I’m no techie but even I can use it. Ability to adjust PIR sensitivity or turn it off. Two way speech can be used as well as an alarm sound. Recording settings can be time length adjusted. You can stop the LEDs from showing and the night settings are great. We bought two to test and now have added a further four to cover our home. The programme has lots of information including videos. WiFi capability has been great with push notifications to mobile and via emails, so we can check not only recordings but also live streaming.
18m on we have received replacement batteries under warranty which is initially for 2 years with an additional 6m if you register the items. Very good service from their online service department.
As soon as I opened the box I knew this was a quality item & it didn’t disappoint. Set up was simple although it wouldn’t accept my pop3 email account, I had to use my wifes gmail acc. The picture quality, both day & night is good, I had trouble at first using the audio feature, but I overcame this by not using the speaker on my phone, as this was causing feedback, but using the earpiece only, on my phone, it worked a treat. I would definitely recommend this product.
Excellent product with excellent night vision and value for money.
I use it to monitor my driveway as I’ve got a classic car with no garage, I receive push notifications instantly the minute somebody walks by, you can set activity times and zones to reduce false alarms which is brilliant and with the solar panel, you’ll never have to charge i
So far so good, simple to install, solar panel charges the battery well, be interesting to see how effective it is on a series of dull days. I have 3 Foscam’s that work quite well but the software and support is poor and they keep releasing firmware updates that simply do not work. So far these camera’s have my interest, will continue to test for the next few weeks, but I have the feeling that these Camera’s are going to meet my needs and requirements, lets see how it goes. Comes well packed, small and compact, well made, instructions are really poor, to be honest I don’t think you need anything to detailed to install and operate this camera,it’s all quite simple. So far very impressed.
Bought the Argus 2 after returning a circle 2. The indoor option on the circle is poor with awful pictures. I compared the video quality between the two at night outdoors and argus 2 wins hands down. Colour video is great!
Update, so a few weeks in and I had some issues with the PIR not triggering movement and the camera disconnecting. I contacted the support team and they were very attentive. Dealt with cherry who did her best to help fix the problems. The Reolink engineers did some server configuration changes to stabilize my connection and I have moved the camera to a better position. I am happy with dealing with Reolink and keen to try more of their products. They have certainly shown care to me. Camera display quality is great. I love this product.
Well made, supplied with good rechargeable battery, with decent charge already. Set up reasonably easy, but notice that before installation, note the long number in tiny characters below the QR code on the back of the camera. This is needed for product registration and is not available elsewhere. Solar panel is good and charges battery very well. Get a micro SD card to fit (up to 64 gB) and you can view/download playback direct via the app. Set up any phones or tablets with the app before installation and register the camera – you need the QR code on the camera to do so and a bit of a pain if you have to take the camera down to do it after installation.
Very pleased indeed. Installed outside in quiet lane well away from usual wi fi signal, but with a powerline extender all works fine. Fairly easy set up. Well pleased with the PIR and alerts, especially the ability to receive an email alert and a still photo. There is no mains power in the lane so the solar panel solves that, and so far the panel is keeping the battery charged even in the awful weather here in the UK at the moment. Very impressed. Good features such as battery status, audible alarm, playback is easy and good. Video is good quality recorded in WMV format, as opposed to some weird format, so Windows plays it back simply on Media Player, and easily downloaded to PC for a permanent local record.
I wanted to be able to view and operate the camera from my desktop PC as well as Android smartphone. Some other manufacturers (Swann for example) do not provide for this, and am very pleased how well the PC app works on Windows, as well as on my phone.
There are very few niggles. The sound is poor, although the audible alarm if enabled is sufficient to draw attention, so speech is almost impossible. But I don’t want to talk to a burglar anyway.
All in all an excellent system, and highly recommended for a domestic installation.
Fantastic for our purposes. We have it on a holiday home so we can always look at the view/check the weather. The build quality, picture quality are excellent for the price and the battery life even without solar charging is about 3 months on the low PIR but high pic quality settings
I really like the Argus2 and Solar panel and the features the camera and Reolink app have. I have had it for 3 days now.
It was extremely easy to connect to the app on my Samsung galaxy and to WiFi.
I have problems though getting a good reliable link between the Argus 2 and router/app on WiFi even though I have tried various locations and router configuration.
I currently have a support call in with Reolink and I really hope to resolve this issue because it is a great bit of ki
Early days, the camera has only been up 1 day, this camera was to replace a much cheaper one which for the life of me I couldn’t get set up and I don’t consider myself to be a Luddite. This one was up and running within 10 minutes of unpacking it! Got it set up and installed on 2 phones and PC in less than an hour. Picture quality is good, a slight delay but it is only to be expected. I have created a new GMail account just for the camera so we get email alerts.
Brilliant bit of kit which we would highly recommend, totally wireless so no cables running to it from the house.
Have two installed outside on front and rear of property. Only up for 1 to 2 weeks, so far all ok.
Would have liked the facility to reduce the cable length on the solar panel mainly to make for a neater installation but not possible as attempts to do so would negate the warranty, ( as advised by Reolink).
When set to 1080p picture quality regularly requested to set to ‘Fluent’ due it says because of poor wi-fi reception. 1080p quality is essential if clear face recognition is needed.
This said installation and app. set up was straight forward, overall very satisfied with the product.
Camera is good instructions need to be better not everyone is good with tek.
Very happy with the product! Both build and software much better quality than i expected. Installation a breeze (and quite clever!). Really nice product.
After trying and returning both a Blink XT and Yi Home Outdoor cameras and being frustrated and disappointed I opted to try this (I considered a Nest outdoor camera but was out of my drilling a massive hole in my house!).
So far so good, installation was easy (and it worked!) and the colour night mode is mega! I’ll put the solar panel in place tomorrow, and will keep this review updated but it’s mint!
