Really nice little camera and the seller sent it very quickly and sorted out the warranty so no complaints and would recommend both the camera and the seller. The camera is really easy to use and set up and caught some wildlife on the first night we used it.
Really quick delivery, and immediate and no-nonsense response on dealing with the one issue I had. I now have my third camera that we’re using on a river restoration project. We’re capturing great images of many birds and mammals that use the river, some of them rare. We’ve got video and stills of otter, marsh harrier and common (not!) rail. As well as informing our work on the river, the cameras are being used to gather evidence for a planning application that will impact negatively on wildlife in the river. Started with the basic model and have now upgraded to this model. So far used the Wi-Fi which is brilliant for retrieving photos – no messing with SIM cards in difficult situations.
I used the camera for a month before writing down my thoughts.
Despite being installed in an exposed position the camera has stayed weather-tight.
The camera is highly configurable.
The daytime picture quality is very good.
The night time picture quality is good.
Video quality is also good but unless you have an additional power source don’t bother ; video mode really drains the batteries. By contrast, in picture only mode, the batteries last ages.
For the money it’s an excellent little camera.
I have been pleasantly surprised by this camera. You can set it up to take either still images, videos (of different quality and length) or both. The videos in particular have been very good quality in daytime, and the night vision is better than expected – good videos of deer and badgers in the dark and can see exactly what they are doing. My only minor niggle is the batteries are quite difficult to remove due to plastic tabs that hold them in place. Otherwise I am very happy with the camera and ease of use.
Likes: it does what it is supposed to do. It is robust and easy to initialise, set up and put into use within minutes of receipt. I got mine with a solar panel so can leave and ‘forget’ it.
Other comments: so many options to choose from for set up which will need some experimentation to achieve just what results you require but so far so very good with the combinations of options I have tried.
Control via a mobile phone works OK at short range as advertised. Paying more for another model that enables pictures to be captured further away may be necessary but it does what it is advertised to very well.
I purchased this trail cam after some research. It offers several options including 4k quality video and wifi connection (initial connection via bluetooth). Both video and photo quality were impressive at near and far subjects (Good focal length from near to infinity)
The size of the files can be very large depending on your settings and on average take about 1-2 secs per mb to download, (You have to download both photos and videos onto your phone to play them so it’s probably easier and quicker to transfer the data from the supplied mini sd card to your pc/laptop.
The App to connect your mobile to the camera is not perfect. Sometimes it takes several attempts for the bluetooth to connect which then triggers the wifi to connect. I found that you had to be within 2 metres in general for the the in-built bluetooth to be recognised by the phone. (This could be the quality of my android phone – Oukitel C21 rather than the camera)
When the app is trying to connect to the Trail cam wifi, there is a delay in the app and it advises to connect manually. You have to exit the app and then restart it which at that point the camera is connected to the phone. I found that if I let the app run without any input it does connect…..eventually
The user interface needs improving as one of the menus (see photo) is missing text. By experimentation the commands to either download or delete data is missing). The video files are in AVI format and it took a while to find the video app to view the videos. I think the video app (Xplayer) is either incorporated into the Venari app or it downloads the app. I’ve circled the icon (in red) which you tap access the videos/photos using Xplayer. (see photo).
I also purchased the solar battery pack which negates having to purchase batteries. In the long run it will pay for itself.
The Trail cam surrounding enclosure could do with a rubber seal to ensure no water ingress, although the design seems to be good enough at keeping any rain/water out.
Overall, very impressed with the Trail cam. I originally had a Bushnell Trail cam which was more than double the price with less features.
Easy to set up and access photos on my phone. I have to go outside to pick up Wi-Fi from camera as signal doesn’t go through glass doors.
This wildlife camera is so much better than the one which I had before. The photos are much clearer and its easy to set up. We like to be kind to hedgehogs and bought the camera to find out what visits our hedgehog feeding station. We have not been disappointed as there were 47 video clips one night! This has a 3 year guarantee too.
The camera is very easy to set up straight out of the box. Has a decent screen display, however, it’s positioning behind the front of the unit makes it awkward to set up the shot you want. It just takes a few test shots to get this right though. Yet to test it fully but have it set up in a field hoping to capture some deer, so will await results. From my test shots, both photo and video in the garden it looks like you get good quality images for the price tag! Happy with the product so far.
We bought this because of the WiFi. It works perfectly.
Great trail cameral. It connects to your phone which is nice.
The pictures are so clear. This is an awesome trail camera.
We have had more expensive cameras and this one works just as well. Easy to set up. Service was good. Quick delivery.
I bought this trail camera for my husband for Christmas. It does everything as it should and he has zero complaints! Definitely worth the price!!
Wow!!! this is the GREATEST camera of ALL TIME I saw so many deer and raccoons in my yard!!! ItS SO AMAZINGGGG 4K! Wi-Fi! Can’t beat the price!!!!
Very satisfied. Like all the options in settings for distance, clarity, video length. Easy to use. Will use it to catch wildlife and a sense of security
At my home!
ecently bought a new home with 3 acre’s of land which my house was built on only 3/4, the rest is wooded, i wanted to see what wild life i have on property. I’ve seen, deer, rabbits and numerous birds
I bought this camera as a Christmas present for my Husband. He was really pleased with it.
We had a track running through our garden and into the back field. As you can see by the footage it has been made by Mr Fox, also lots of rabbits rabbits.
The night vision is excellent and the picture quality can be adjusted to suit your needs.
The battery life is proving to be good. Still on the same batteries which were put in just after Christmas. (3 weeks) You can set your camera on a timer. We have set ours from 4pm-8am.
There are many different settings to suit your needs.
All in all, a great camera and worth the money.
