I was most impressed when i managed to cut straight through perspex…wood and plastic without any issues.
I liked: lightweight and easily portable.
It cuts well and accurately
I disliked:Nowhere to store the mains cable. A simple frame on the back would do
The fence needs o be longer
The mitre guage is difficult to read
For a very cheap compact unit it’s great the blade guide is flimsy but for cutting off cuts it’s perfect 3 mm laserply helps me as scrap bin was getting full. Bolts to my wok bench with 2 screws.
Lovely little saw ideal for model making cuts 4mm ply with ease would cut thicker if took time blade is nice and sharp and just enough set to cut balsa strips with out to much waste would recommend for model making
Does exactly what it says on the box. Quick to assemble. Good quality. A very useful tool for anyone that uses a saw for hobbies
Excellent price and does just what i wanted. The slide rail could be a little sturdier but no complaints. Much better than my had saw efforts.
Past experience with rubbish mini saws meant I was not expecting much, but product turned out to exceed all my expectations. basically this is a clone of the Proxon 230, but with a slightly larger blade, therefore deeper cut and a more powerful motor.
Cuts fast and accurately when set up properly, this is ideal for aeromodelling, model boat building, dolls house furniture etc. I had to cut gazillions of small 6 and 12 mm ply gussets for a scale glider. After a few hours and pitiful hand cut output I was getting nowhere so weakened and purchased. Very pleased I did.
Bear in mind you are limited to a max cut of 12mm thickness, but cuts spruce, beech, lime, ramin, 6 and 12mm ply like a hot knife through butter. Thin ply, liteply, balsa etc is cut very cleanly with no splintering.
Not the perfect mini table saw and has a few (very) minor points that lose it a star:
A little on the noisy side, but no worse than similar in class. However is very smooth in operation.
The ripping fence wouldn’t set parallel – turned out to be a small burr on the clamp casting – removed with a needle file.
The angle fence is a tad wobbly, rather bendy and is not accurate – but if you need v. precise angles you can make up an angle gauge to suite and lay a strip of thin tape on the edge of the bar to stabilise the fence in the slot. This will get you going until you find time to make or but a better version.
Blades seem rather hard to find and limited in selection.
This is a bit of a harsh review as have never been able to find a reasonably capable mini saw at a sensible price and certainly wasn’t wanting to pay Proxon prices. In my opinion, this tool is significantly better than the Proxon 230.
I was on the verge of making my own table saw to take 80 to 100mm HSS blades using Banggood spindles and bearing blocks, until I found this little gem. It would have worked out about the same in cost for a DIY version so went for the ready made version instead.
Half the price of some me and just as serviceable maybe a bit noisie
My main use is as a balsa and spruce strippe
I cut a lot of 12mm hardwood dowel (beech, maple, holly, etc.). 12mm is just about the maximum capacity for this machine which I bought to replace a 2 wheel large bandsaw. I have to take it fairly slowly but so far (about a month’s use) it is standing up to the workload. I can imagine that it would cope with pine, balsa, etc well for modelmaking. There are several machines in this price range or cheaper, so I chose according to users reviews.
Great little unit for small work.
In my case cutting Printed Circuit Boards.
Only complaint – pea green – what were they thinking 🙂
Overall liked the product. The only downfall is the adjustable guide fence is slightly out of square so is not in line with the blade which means there MAY be a bit of pressure on the blade. Time will tell but would still recomend.
Good saw but can ,t seem to get any spare parts for it changed one belt of i can,t source anymore means saw will be useless going to look at the size of a prison belt .this machine just looks like a cheap copy of one
A nice bit of kit. Small light weight, sits on my work bench nicely.
ice handy little saw ideal for cutting thin strips of wood and 8mm abs plastic
Wobble-free blade design for precision cuts
3.Easy, adjustable longitude fence and graduated miter gauge
4.Tool-free hand adjustable table height
One year limited warranty
Great saw – remember, match the blade to the job! Get a diamond blade, and cut ANYTHING.
I have been looking for a mini saw for modelling for some tine. Saw this on Amazon and ordered it. Its great very pleased with equipment. Really great for my modelling and cutting wooden planks for 1:16 boxes for tanks. One thing I cannot find where you can buy new blades.
