Two person job to assemble to hold the pieces in place while using a block and hammer to snugly fix everything in place. There was some good advice from someone here about boring the dowel holes first with an 8mm drill bit, which I did after the first dowel wouldn’t go in. One bench piece wasn’t cut at the right angle so doesn’t sit flush against the back rest where it meets the seat. A bit annoying but I couldn’t take it apart at that point as dowels were already in place. It doesn’t affect the sturdiness. Lovely smell, very solid and heavy. The screws go underneath to fix the seat piece to the sides and front section. I mention this as one reviewer referred to the ‘mystery screws’ and the instructions are a bit sparse.
